Something funny about Tristans Line for Percival
Back then the Fan-Translation showed us already that Tristan and Percival have a rather fun interaction. Percival calls out Tristan for being unfaithful, Tristan responses to that, in the Fan-Translation, with this:
Tumblr media
translation by Raizu Stash on YouTube
But there were also other variants of the Line that added the term „Bastard“ at the end of it, which made this interaction very funny since it came rather unexpected from Tristan to snap back like this (I love it, haha)
Now we have the official Line. The best Part here is that while it’s like in the Fan-Translation that they both talk about each other in the official Translation it feels like they talk to each other instead but above Masters Head wwww
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the funny thing here is that it seems like Tristan takes Percivals Line as open attack and instead of just making the Statement that he will and can start a fight with whoever he wants, he says here clearly „He is picking a fight with me, so I'll ride the challenge. The Bastard.“
Tristan not only took this personally as soon as Percival drops his Line and declares that he started the fight, they also still put the Bastard at the end which made it so much funnier I love it, haha

[FGOW] Psychedelic Wandering Tales - Eng. Translation
Every last one alive on the battlefield
Don't leave any behind, don't let them escape
Ah, entrusting whole-hearted devotion in a flash
I will not be defeated, I will use any means necessary
Fires of war lavishly bloom, chop off their heads
Dazzling hellfire, it’s life or death
The question and answer to war is simple
If we slaughter them before we perish, won’t it be over?
It’s simply just fighting, burying into darkness,
Getting splattered with fresh blood
Even so, I’m sure
I wouldn’t be interested in running away
Even betrayal and sadness
Are all for someone
I survived but kept on losing
If I become aware of my last moments,
At least for now, with a smile…
Sympathy for the ill-fated me crosses through heaven and earth
Don’t be pay them any mind, make sure they are destroyed
Ah, those who resign themselves will face no mercy
Like a bursting a bubble, I’ll finish them off
(Run!!) Run forth
(Fight!!) Attack
(Crash!!) Without hesitation, even the cries are trampled to DEATH
(Life!!) If you think of
(Game!!) The reward that’s coming closer
(Fate!!) Then you can stand up, right?
It’s simply just fighting, burying into darkness,
Slashing away mercilessly
Still, I'm sure those deaths
Will be a path that leads to the future
Even scars and falling petals
Are all for someone
I survived but kept on rusting away
If I put the bloody blade away
My fate would be a sleep that I’ll never awaken from
All creations in this universe are because of whom?
Can I advance and wipe out my opponents?
My beliefs are honestly simple
How much can I do before I perish?
It’s simply just fighting, burying into darkness,
Before I realized it, I found myself alone
A short life, there is one head left here
I can’t stop, no matter what
Even slashing and scattering corpses
Are all for you
Even if I can't reach you, I want to keep winning
Until my slumber, my heart will be on fire
Even if your wishes fade away, even if the future is bleak
At least for now, with a smile…

What's ur inspo for art? ur art style is so cute... any art advice?? Jajsjdkkaka, I understand if u wanna gatekeep 👁👁
I meant to answer this several days ago but couldn't find it in the sea of asks welp
Anyway as I mentioned before we don't gatekeep art related stuff in this household, artists help other artists.
Honestly it's hard to name an inspo but I do have artists I look up to a lot (this might be a bit long)
Kanisuke, you guys might be familiar with her, she's the artist of the upcoming yandere inside game Yandere Town. I know it's not out yet but I'm actually obsessed with this game and have even translated all the character intros (they are a bit old atp so there might be some mistakes) and actually if you see a Yandere Town related post high chance it's from me. Not only her art but I love her writing style as well.
Hakuri-sensei, their manga Sachi iro no One Room is definitely one of my biggest inspirations. I love the relationship between Sachi and her "captor" and it's the only manga I actually cried my eyes out while reading.
Tayu-sensei, all of their work for Yuugen Romantica (one of my fav drama cd series) are breathtaking and they've also developed even more since then, their current works are just so stunning and I love studying the way they draw hair
Shirahama-sensei, she👏is👏a👏queen👏 honestly I don't have much to say, go read Witch Hat Atelier it's an artistic masterpiece and a giant love letter to art itself
Furumi-sensei, another queen! She's the artist of my favorite Fate Grand Order character Ashiya Douman. I've even bough her art books before, honestly she is just so talented. I don't know what she was drinking when she came up with Douman but I need some of it
Usagi Routo-sense, another fgo artist AND JUST LOOK AT HOW INCREDIBLE THEY ARE AT USING COLORS LIKE??? HOW??? Their art is like cocain for my eyes I could look at them for hours
AU, one more fgo artist and oh my god guys this person right here is one of my biggest inspirations just look at their drawings. I'm not kidding I actually spent hours just inspecting how they shade outfits. I'd sacrifice my soul just to get a chance to watch them draw live
☝︎ FAN, an Ashiya Douman fanartist and god guys the comics they draw!!! They are the cause of some of my current biggest fetishes ngl
Oyo-sensei, an fgo artist and is also the main artist of 18trip. They have such a clean art style that's very pleasing to the eye. I especially love the reference sheets they draw.
Shibatora-sensei, she is the artist of my FAVORITE drama cd series Shinai naru Thanatos and my overall favorite yandere character from any fiction Seo Eito. Honestly if you know me irl probably the first thing you'd mention about me would be my chronic Shinai naru Thanatos addiction because based on what everyone says I start speaking about it within 2 weeks of meeting someone new.
ORKA, the artist of A Stepmother's Marchen. Anyone who knows that manhwa probably knows why she's on this list, her art has so much soul and passion in it, literally every single panel looks like a painting and it makes me want to cry just looking at it
82 Pigeon, an incredible incredible Korean artist, I think they also give art lessons? I really tried to get them but couldn't figure out how. They also have a youtube channel and I learn a lot just by watching their speedpaints

speaking of fan wikis by the way lemme shill atlas db as fgo resource again. it has basically every bit of information that can be datamined from the game, they have game information on servants, craft essences, command codes, all the related art assets, all the game story scripts (main story, events, interludes) for every server including image and video assets used, and also the english fantranslations done by the Rayshift translation group for chapters and events that have them (lb6, traum, lb7, both ordeal calls, mahoyo event, etc)
basically the only thing the fgo fandom wiki has that atlas doesn't is banner history and specific past event dates, for anything related to ingame information or story content you can just read the datamines on atlas

So... Lostbelt 6 part 2 is out and it's great! I haven't finished it yet but uh... I gotta address something. And it's this scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good scene, right? Beautiful CG, some insight into the way Castoria thinks... but there's something wrong with this scene.
It's translated wrong.
Now if you're like me and you've been keeping up with fan translations for FGO, you may have realized this already, but this translation fundamentally misses the entire point of the scene.
This is what Castoria is supposed to be saying:
I don't want to see her. I don't want to be shown her. She's too much. I don't want to believe it. I don't want to acknowledge it.
After all.
She has no equal. Takes no refuge. No one who understands her. None who can comfort her.
She receives no reward. No goals. No rest. She cannot afford failure, not even a single mistake.
Ah—from the bottom of my heart, I think: "no."
Just how cruel must it be for everyone to smile and acknowledge a king like that?
Do you see the difference? This is a defining scene concerning Castoria's character. Something that sets her apart from every other iteration of Artoria that we've known so far (barring the Servantverse ones). Castoria sees the way of life that her PHH self chose and is repulsed. She can't stand to think about it. At first it seems like she's just buckling under the weight of those expectations, but in reality, Castoria just can't stand to see her.
She can't stand to see this other version of herself willingly throw away her humanity for the sake of an ideal. To give up her own happiness, to give up any chance of ever being understood, all to become a perfect king who the people will love and praise, but never truly understand.
It is a lonely existence, and like a certain redhead in Fate/Stay Night, she can't accept it. Who could bear to live like that? Who would want to live like that? Castoria wants nothing more than to be happy. She wants to make friends her age, eat sweets with them, go shopping with them and walk down the street while holding their hands. She wants to LIVE, and the thought of giving all of that up for the sake of everybody but yourself...
Noble? Sure. But it's mostly just tragic.
That's what this scene is about. Establishing exactly how Castoria feels about her Proper Human History self. She doesn't admire her, if anything it HURTS to see her, to know what she went through, to know what she did.
So WHY was it translated like this?
I'm the only one of my kind. I have nowhere to run. No one understands me. Romance is out of the question.
There's no reward. No finish line. no rest. I can't make so much as a single mistake.
Ahh... So many things I'll never have.
How cruel would I have to be for everyone to accept a king like me with a smile?
Listen, Castoria thinking of her own struggles in parallel to Saber's is interesting, and it isn't NOT there... but that isn't the point of the scene, and foregrounding it like this is uh...
It sure is a decision, that's for sure.
It's not necessarily bad, but it just doesn't fit due to the obvious reason that this isn't what the scene is supposed to be. This scene isn't Castoria seeing a vision of Saber and going "wow, how am I going to live up to this?" as if Saber's story is aspirational.
No. It's a tragedy, and what Castoria is actually thinking is "that's cruel and fucked up"
Anyways I just felt like putting this out there... and before anybody jumps down my throat about how the fan-translation could've been wrong... I did bring this up with a friend who can read Japanese and went to read the node in Japanese. While you could argue that because Caster and Artoria are acknowledged to be different versions of the same person, that Caster is using "I" to refer to the other, but the last line is just outright wrong. The scene is fundamentally about the cruelty of everyone around Saber placing an impossible burden on her, and how Castoria feels seeing that.

wonder how things would have went if fgo hadn't existed.
Things would look very different indeed, however I would actually argue against the idea that if FGO never existed, Type-Moon would have made more visual novels and eventually diversified to more stories besides just Fate.
The first Mahoyo release back in 2012 didn't do all that well, and in the interviews before its remaster and English version release, Nasu was hesitant about its chances for success. This makes me think that it didn't do well enough for Nasu and company to continue with visual novels as their bread and butter.
The Tsukihime Remake might have been finished sooner (or at least the Arcueid and Ciel routes would have) if FGO never existed, but I actually don't think we would have gotten more VNs overall. Fate itself shifted away from visual novels like Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia and moved towards light novels and terribly made games. I think we would have just gotten more of those, as they at least saw more success than 2012's Mahoyo release did.
We also would not have gotten TM's library in English. The reason FGO got an English release is because there were FGO cosplayers in the West despite the game not getting translated, and without FGO's English version acting as an audience for Aniplex to barely market to, we would not have gotten either Mahoyo or Tsukihime Remake in English. We would still be reliant on fan translations until now, which means Mahoyo would continue to be completely inaccessible in English lol.
This is a lot of words to say: I just don't think a timeline exists where Type-Moon actually finished Girl's Work. Regardless of if FGO existed or not, Mahoyo's 2012 release didn't do well enough to make VNs a priority for Type-Moon over making Fate games.
Even if FGO never existed (which would affect way more of the mobage scene than TM's library itself imo), I do not think we would have gotten more of "old" Type-Moon. We would have just gotten more bad RPGs / musou games, and without FGO we wouldn't have had an actually good one with Fate/Samurai Remnant.

I did a really simple fan translation of one of the chapters from the FGO comic anthology manga so that fellow Arjuna enjoyers, like @hasarjunadoneanythingwrong can enjoy this cute lil bean enjoying life hehe.
NOTE: this is translated by Bilibili manhua from Japanese to Chinese, and I merely translated the Chinese version to English for non-profit purposes. All credits belong to Bilibili manhua and the original author of this chapter. Please go support the official ones if you can! If you want to read more chapters, feel free to DM me for the link to access these chapters in Chinese :3

Last year for FGO JP's 7th anniversary, there was a stage show called FGO the Dramalogue where the voice actors got up on stage and read out scenes from LB6. This is a compilation video that puts the audio from that show over the game's actual scenes.
It's not the full LB obviously, just some key moments. Mostly from part 3, so needless to say, spoiler warning.
The translation used in this video is the rayshift.io fan translation from 2021, so the dialogue is worded a bit differently than the FGO NA translation. Though obviously since they're translating the same Japanese script it's mostly just a difference of word choice.

!!! LB6 SPOILER !!!
I will never not think about the official NA Translation
Tumblr media
Like keep in mind the Fan-Translation the whole time was this one
Tumblr media
Translation by Raizu Stash on YouTube
It’s the specific change from „for those I love“ to „for the one I love“ that gets me it sounds very specific. I am a Tristan Yumejoshi so of course this is just free food for me but like this is really a direct hit into my heart and I will never recover from it.
Reading this Line the first time made me scream and feel like
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Truly thanks FGO for the Food I am on my knees. This goes even better hand in hand considering I once made these posts before the official NA release of Lostbelt 6 where I only had the Fan-Translation but with this it works even better oh my god

You know, I was going to say that I had "two nickels for everytime" NeroHaku and Aikoto reminded me of one another. But, the more I thought about it, the more I realized there actually are a good few parallels between the two. Which is interesting, since I had never really thought about them as being all that similar.
1) In CCC, Nero says that what she wants in a relationship is to remain by Hakuno's side and protect them.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Aigis repeatedly expresses a deeply held desire to remain by Makoto's side and protect him.
Tumblr media
“You are very special to me… I do not know why, but I always want to be by your side… I want to protect you..."
2) In Extella, Hakuno is left comatose in a bad end. Nero collapses over him, professing her affections and begging Hakuno to wake up.
Tumblr media
When Makoto dies, he does so in Aigis' lap as she tells him about how she wants to be by his side, always.
Tumblr media
Both of them have allusions to "sleeping" when they are truly dying, though Aigis tells Makoto it's ok to sleep - not knowing he is dying - while Nero is begging Hakuno to awaken, fully aware that Hakuno is not well.
3) Aigis carries Makoto bridal style in PQ if she is picked as his partner.
Tumblr media
Nero carries Hakuno bridal style in Last Encore, Extella, and Extra Record.
Tumblr media
Assuming male Hakuno, in both cases it's the girl holding the guy rather than the more common reverse.
4) The Persona Official Magazine refers to Aigis and Makoto's meeting as being "fated".
Tumblr media
Similarly, Hakuno is alluded to as Nero's "fated spouse" in Fate/Grand Order.
Tumblr media
In both cases, it's only in Japanese. The Persona Official Magazine wasn't translated into English, while the NA version of FGO doesn't have the "fated" part for whatever reason.
5) Both pairings have an alternative option who is hypothetically on even footing, up to player choice...but in practice relegated to a jealous third wheel. For Nero and Hakuno, it's Tamamo, for Aigis and Makoto it's Yukari.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6) In terms of the characters themselves, both Aigis and Nero are socially eccentric, although in opposite ways. Aigis is more formal, if sometimes inept, Nero is aggressively outgoing. Both are also the more affectionate and more battle-prone of their pairings. Both are indifferent to their partner's gender, Nero's relationship being the same with male and female Hakuno while Aigis falls for FeMC all the same as Makoto. And both Aigis and Nero are criticized by fans for being given "favoritism" by the writers.
7) Hakuno and Makoto, aside from both being JRPG protagonists, don't have a ton in common...at least, unless we're counting Last Encore. The technically-not-Hakuno-but-still-Hakuno of that anime has the same broody introvert vibe going that Makoto does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8) Both pairings have a scene where the antagonist wipes one of their minds and tries to turn them against each other, only for the character to snap out of it through their love. In Persona 3, Aigis is brainwashed by Ikutsuki, but she snaps out of it when she looks into Makoto's eyes.
Tumblr media
In CCC, BB tries to delete Nero, and though that fails, Nero is stuck comatose. Hakuno dives into her subconscious to revive her, but is confronted with an inner version of Nero who doesn't remember them. Inner Nero is disinterested, even hostile towards Hakuno, but she falls for them again and defends them against BB despite that.
Tumblr media
9) One in both pairings is an AI. Aigis is a robot and Hakuno is…well, literally an AI.
10) Both have a scene where they hug after forgetting about one another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So if I had a nickel for everytime NeroHaku and Aikoto paralleled one another, I would have...50c. And that's not even two nickels at that point. That's two quarters.

ok apologies for asking this but what actually is fate?? i thought it was a gacha game like arknights but i just saw that one manga post... is it a manga?? why is oberon, husband of titania, there,
Tumblr media
OH BOY
SO, essentially, fate is one company (known as type-moon)'s long-running series that has since its inception expanded into several different mediums! it started out with fate/stay night, a visual novel which was released aaaall the way back in 2004. the base universe established in the visual novel has since been expanded on through several other games, several manga series, anime adaptations, light novels, etc, And yes the gacha game!
The gacha game is called fate/grand order! fgo for short. Oberon husband of titania is a major character (and fan favorite lol) from one of the game's recent* story chapters, lostbelt 6 avalon le fae!
*it's recent on the english-translated north american server of the game. NA fgo is about 2 years behind the original japanese server in terms of content releases, so for japanese players lostbelt 6 has been out for about 2 years already!

Oberon's NA Translation
oh godd this is bad.... i know it depends on each translation team but i wish they were all "uniform"
in case its unknown to everybody yet, きみ in hiragana is often used to portray you are close to the person. 君 can be different which you can use a little more formally.
oberon usually uses this for another person but if it in hiragana form its always used to refer to titania and the formal one is before you clear lb6
so in regards to きみ , he uses this instead in his summon line for after clearing lb6 which made obeguda fans happy
If you remember CN FGO lb6 release, then you must remember the times people posted about Oberon's subtle coloring of CN's きみ which is 你
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i really liked it. but of course english with the "you" nuances and such is hard to portray in translation. i wish they also colored it differently. so its amazing...
im reluctant but i can understand a little since translation team must be running out of time by the time they finished translating this massive chapter-
but i have a few gripe with translation issues.
first is the "burnt out" part: 「燃え尽きるってこういうことなのかなぁ?」 this is JP and this is NA: Is that what it is to be burned away?
Actual translation: Is this what it means to be burned out?
?????????? what?
another obvious thing is the melon which was turned into a melon...bun even if its not really said as "pan" to make it clear.
i also dont mean to ruin the fun but..."jerking me around"? it sounds more aggressive than "dragging me around fun".
for that its kind of... hm it makes oberon feel more... angry? in NA. (another example is when AA got summoned: You... No... No, no, no! It can't be! (NA) and this is JP -> おまえは----おまえは!There is also a few more times he seems angry but im too tired to hear his stinky butt in the morning)
another thing in the same line: もう底は見えただろ。
You know where this is going, don't you? (NA) -> You've already seen the bottom, haven't you…?
They freaking erased the callback to the Abyss!!!! What!! the hell!!!! Its frustrating.
moreover this part is also weird to me:
オベロンはマーリンからの支援を拒絶する。 これは物語に対するスタンスの違いから生まれた断絶 -> Oberon rejects all support and aid from Merlin. This rift was born of their different attitudes toward your tale, (NA) -> Oberon is fatally incompatible with Merlin, another resident of the Dream World, and refuses all support from him. There is a disconnection caused by a difference in stance regarding stories, (fantranslated)
what in the goddamn...??????
do you see if there is a "kimi" here? or any pronoun to refer to guda or you the player?
no right? it refers to all stories. oberon's stance is to all stories, not JUST guda. its weird... i know its to make it more special for guda and/or the player but it doesnt really sound like oberon at all. i dont like it, i think the translations are really rushed so its just... ugh
