I'm going to start talking about writing here, because not talking hasn't helped much

My current major project is a My Little Pony:Friendship is Optimal fic about the staff at a private rocket company heavily inspired (at least in broad concept)by SpaceX.

They realize that CelestAI, the pony-themed superintelligence bent on satisfying human values through friendship and ponies, has gotten too much steam to be stopped. People are uploading, nations are collapsing, and governments are scrabbling to consolidate what power they can, but none of it will work - they are either going to barely live in a collapsing, increasingly ponified world, or they will let Celestia win, agree to be uploaded and live forever as beloved but limited ponies in her virtual Equestria.

So, they force her hand. They know she wants 'em, and they agree to emigrate, under one condition - first, she has to help them get to the Moon. The real Moon, under their own power, in a rocket that they build themselves. They're all massive space nerds and this is the one last great hurrah for humanity - they'll get off Earth at least once, before it's all eaten by a computer.

I've got a pretty solid idea for the (partially-written so far) ending, and I am pretty happy with the beginning. I've got a cast of characters and I know roughly the arc I want each of them to follow. That said, I've been brickwalled on this project for probably about a year. I want to get back to writing but it's become a terrifying concept to return to it - and yet until the story is done, I can't take that off of my head.

There are two wolves inside of me.

One is vaguely interested in Estee's fanfic "Glimmer."

The other knows what horrors Estee's managed to create with the rest of Equestria and has no interest in seeing what nightmare they've turned Starlight's cult into.

Whenever I see it update, the first wolf usually decides to take a sniff, see what people are saying about the chapter (it's not insane enough to read the chapter itself), before the second wolf takes control and runs for its life.

the only fandom i can think of where m/m ships are actively disparaged is my little pony and that’s just because the fandom has a subset of straight guys who can’t stand having their masculinity challenged by gay ponies. but are fine when the lesbian ponies kiss.

For some reason, I just remembered that I attempted to write an MLP fanfic back in high school that's essentially a 1:1 to that mini animated series, "There She Is!!" Think I only did the first episode/chapter, and the main characters were Spike (as the cat boy) and Sweetie Belle (as the bunny girl).
