When fiona is like, "I didn't" about mickey coming to see Ian. She isn't expecting him not to come because it's mickey. Fiona watched Frank, the person who was meant to love and care for Monica, not show up and support her with her illness for years. Yeah, fiona doesn't really like mickey, but she would be doubtful of anyone showing up. She expects it will be her and her family once again pushed to take care of each other. She expects disappointment cause she's traumatised and wants to look out her for baby brother. If fiona put her trust in mickey, it would just be harder for her to comfort Ian when he doesn't show.

And even ignoring that, she was right. Mickey didn't show up for Ian then. He does after, but that's not the point. Fiona isn't a massive bitch just because she expected something that happened.

People are always so hard on fiona because of how she treats the milkovichs. I agree that a lot of the time, she's out of place and mean for no real reason. She should be more open-minded and understanding, but at the same time, I get it.

Fiona doesn't know the milkovichs, mickey, in particular. She doesn't hang out with him and get invited to sleepovers. So she doesn't see past his kinda problematic shell. Mickey is just a kid, but he's also the kid who was trying to kill Ian, who beat lip up in the streets. Mickey is known to be a criminal, rude, and just like every other straight white guy on the southside. It's not surprising that she doesn't immediately warm up to him when in her eyes it was only a few months ago that he got a whore pregnant and married her. Fiona doesn't know a lot of the context that makes Mickey so forgivable.

I'm not completely defending her with her hate to the milkoviches. Like she should be able to understand that there is more to them, their kids in a bad situation. Her hate for them isn't entirely unwarranted, mickey way more than mandy. Can we remember that mandy did almost get Ian killed tho by lying and saying he sa her?? I might be a little mean, too.

Basically I just think people should try see fiona perspective on it a bit more and not just make her out to be a heartless bitch.

I see a lot of similarities in the way ppl talk about Ginny and Debbie in the way that they’re both “ungrateful” for their mothers/legal guardians (Georgia and Fiona). While both Georgia and Fiona made significant sacrifices for their children/siblings, that doesn’t mean their kids/siblings can’t also be affected by the environment they grew up in. Both of them weren’t good guardians, and that’s no fault of their own. Georgia was an abused child who ran away when she was 14 and got pregnant at 15 trying to survive while being still being abused by different men. Fiona was a child taking care of children constantly scared child services was going to separate her and her siblings and trying to hide money away from her drunk, negligent father.

I wish this was less unpopular, but Ginny was right 90% of the time. I’m not going to talk about the way her and her mother’s relationship was inappropriate (i.e., confiding in her daughter about her romantic relationships) but Ginny constantly grew up in an environment that was unstable (her and her brother having to move around constantly). Add on to this, she doesn’t have contact with other extended family (I’m talking primarily about Zion’s family, not Georgia’s because her mom had every right to go contact with her biological family). She grows up mostly alone because she has to move, eventually learning that her mother is keeping secrets away from her and constantly telling her she’s too immature to handle it. She has every right to be frustrated that her mother isn’t completely transparent about her life (although her mom not talking about killing her stepdad who was harassing her was sort of valid, as I can understand that’s a hard thing to talk about to your daughter). Especially when we find out that Georgia has kept guns in the house? Or when her mother literally opens up credit cards in her kids’ names? (One of whom, btw, isn’t even ten?)

Same with Debbie and Fiona. Yes Debbie was foolish and naive. But she literally does not have a sense of what a healthy, loving family is. And she desperately wants that. She also grows up alone. Growing up, Ian and Lip are sort of partners in crime/occasional frenemies who give each other advice. Carl has his gang of troublemakers to go play with. Debbie literally had no one. Sure, she hung out with Ethel but Ethel had grown up in a strict religious cult and eventually spent more time with Malik. We knew how alone she was when we saw the Aunt Ginger episode. She literally viewed pregnancy as a way to get a loving, normal family.

Just because another character has made sacrifices for another character doesn’t mean said character is exempt from all flaws. And I’m tired of Ginny and Debbie being portrayed as worse than Satan when they’re literally just teenage girls growing up in an unstable environment.

"will you relax.  Of course they will!"

You and your best friend Ian were about to go meet the entirety of the Gallagher family.  You were beyond nervous.  the only reason you knew Ian was because you had a crush on him and you asked him out.  He obviously said no which upset you at first until he explained he was gay.  after that, you two were inseparable. 

Pulling up to the Gallagher house, you felt nervous butterflies enter your stomach.  what if they hated you? what if they were mean?  what if-

"ready?" ian pulled you out of your thoughts as you got out of your BMW. 

"you might want to lock the car." he chuckles. 

As you walk closer to the door, you can hear more and more commotion coming from the inside of the house.  Instead of knocking, he barges right in and allows you a few seconds to really take in the scene.  Two kids, boy and girl, arguing over a computer, a baby crawling around, and a girl probably in her twenties scrambling around the kitchen.  Finally, you see a boy probably your age smoking a blunt on the couch while watching "to catch a predator". 

He was a sight.  He was hot.  you've seen him around school before, but you don't know his name.  He's known for doing kids homework if you pay him well enough. 

"well well well, look what ian brought here." he gives you a smirk and a once over before adding, "ian found himself some rich girl to smooch off of."

instead of letting ian talk, you immediately say, "sounds like someone's just jealous that you need to do loser's homework to get money."

he looks shocked for a second before adding, "big mouth too.  You smoke?"

"no of course not.  it's terrible for your lungs and I do cheer."

"oh she does cheer?!  her little lungs can't handle it." he mocks a sad face before you add

"hey guys,  this is y/n.  I invited her over for dinner I hope that's okay." he looks at fiona as the commotion stops for a second.

the little girl is the first to run up to you.

The Gallagher household was bustling with activity. Fiona and V were in the kitchen, finishing up some last minute food preparations while Kevin was entertaining Carl and some of his friends in the yard with games. Ian was fixing drinks for everyone, desperately trying to find Debbie to figure out what she wanted (she was in her room, Mandy braiding her hair for her so she could impress Little Hank). Lip was finishing up a project for some sophomore who'd offered to pay him $100, and Liam was sitting patiently in his high chair. Y/N did her best to help out by setting the table, ensuring there were enough chairs and that everyone had all the proper utensils.

Mickey walked in the front door, beer in hand and flopped down, watching as Y/N reached across to the other side of the table to put a fork next to the plate. Mickey whistled like a boy in a 60s tv show.

"Damn, I bet you're used to that position," he quipped, taking another swig or his beer. Y/N looked at him, furrowing her eyebrows.

Mickey shrugged. "You know, cause I'm sure Philip bends you over pretty often." Y/N realized his implications, blushing and looking away. Mickey laughed, much more comfortable on the subject of sex than she was. "I'm sure Fiona's had to schedule time out of the house with the rest of the kids just to give you two some 'alone time'!"

Y/N grew increasingly uncomfortable. She wasn't a virgin or a puritan, but she and Lip hadn't had sex yet. They hadn't had a conversation about it or anything, but she wanted to wait a while and Lip had never brought it up with her.

"Fuck off," Lip sighed. "Y/N isn't a priss, she just doesn't think the whole world needs to know about her sex life like you and Ian seem to."

Mickey raised his arms in surrender, "'Kay, fuck, Gallagher, it was all teasing, no harm meant!" He got up from his seat and went to the kitchen, presumably to grab another beer.

"C'mon, baby," Lip said softly, squeezing Y/N's waist and guiding her up to his room. He sat with her on the edge of Ian's bed, holding her hand and rubbing his calloused thumb on the back of it.

"I'm sorry he was messin' with you, baby," he whispered. "I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. Anything I can do for you?" He emphasized his apology by pressing a soft kiss to her temple.

"No, just," she paused, thinking about how she wanted to phrase her next sentence. "Do you ever, I don't know, feel like I'm holding you back?"

Lip had a puzzled look on his face. "Whatd'ya mean, hon?"

"Well with like, you know," she sighed, pulling her hand away from Lip to hide her face. "We haven't had sex and I feel like that's my fault." She heard him chuckle quietly, her embarrassment seeping into her soul even more.

"Baby," he cooed, wrapping his arms around her in a hug as she continued to hide her face. "It's nobody's fault. We haven't talked about it yet! That's the most important part of any relationship, and that's taken me a while to learn. I figured you'd bring it up when you were ready. I didn't want you to feel pressured."

She looked up at him, eyes wide and glazed over, on the verge of tears because of her embarrassment. "Really?" she asked.

"Really," he nodded like he had given an order to the universe.

"I thought that maybe you weren't attracted to me or that you thought I wasn't good enough," she whispered.

"Me? Not attracted to you? Aw babe!" he laughed, nose touching hers in a loving exchange. "A pretty thing like you deserves to be worshipped. When we have sex, I'm takin' my time with you."

She giggled at his compliment, rolling her eyes in disbelief.

He didn't think she was a prude or anything, he just had respect for her; he cared for her. She felt warmth in her chest as she processed the conversation. Lip kissed her nose briefly, helping her stand up from the bed.

"And try not to let Mickey get you down. He's just like that and assumes everyone else is comfortable talking about their sex life the way he does. I'll warn him to dial it down when he's around you, though," Lip told her, looking into her eyes to make sure she knew he was serious.

"Thanks, Lip. I love you," she told him, hugging him again.

I'm taking a break from my essay, so I thought I would go over my opinions of Fiona.

The thing is, most of the time I understand her. I understand her wanting Debbie and the others to stop relying on her so much, I understand her leaving, I understand why she tried to convince Debbie to get an abortion and most importantly I understand why she wanted to avoid blame for Liam's coke incident. I'm not saying any of it is right, but I get her.

I'll go over my main points with her, good and bad.

The stuff I defend her on:

she supported Lip thru his alcoholism and he did not do the same for her, instead yelling and blaming her when if anyone, he should understand

she tries to convince Debbie to get an abortion because she fully knows Debbie is not emotionally mature enough to handle a baby (no hate, no 15 year old is) and doesn't want to have to deal with it, which is fair because she's accustomed to dealing with kids that aren't hers. I have friends who have to essentially parent their siblings, and I know they would definitely stay away if any of them decided to have kids of their own.

she tries to convince lip to go to college or at least stay in school because he can, despite how he's so adamant against it. despite how it means she has even more burden over the children

she leaves because she needs her own life (there's more on this later, don't worry)

However, I'm against her on these:

She agreed that she would take care of him until he was an adult, and didn't make sure someone else would take over if she left. Also, she could have taken him with her.

Anyway, very mixed feelings about Fiona. I'm never sure how to feel about her, because like I say half the time I understand her. I get why she didn't want to admit to being responsible for the coke thing, because it made her feel guilty and worse, it made her feel like her parents. I def prefer her pre-season 4

i wanna be able to rank them js in a list but idk if i can. So I was trying to decide if you were asking me if I could like, rank my personal favorite to least personal favorite.
