i've finally worked out my heights for the four so here they are. i love my tall children.

right now (as the third arc finishes/fourth arc begins), abeke and conor are eye-to-eye at 5'11, rollan is 5'9 and meilin is the shortest at 5'7. even meilin can hardly be called short though! it's funny bc most of them had massive growth spurts during the war and ended up at pretty impressive heights, so people would jokingly wonder what the greencloaks were feeding these kids.

for comparison, as the series kicks off with wild born the four were much smaller. meilin was still the shortest at 5'2, conor barely an inch taller at 5'3, rollan 5'5 and abeke 5'7. rollan having one year on the rest of the kids gave him a bit of height advantage over conor and meilin, but not abeke. she's always had tall genes -- no one was really surprised when she clocked out at 5'11. even so, the amount of height they all gained in ~3 years is incredible. abeke and rollan both grew four inches. meilin grew five. conor's was the wildest tho. a whole eight inches!

rollan has always been a little disgruntled that he went from two inches taller than conor to two inches shorter. wild.

i've debated back and forth on shane's exact height but i've decided on his too! shane has always been a big guy -- it's the stetriolan in him, i guess. in wild born, when he was 15 and almost finished growing, he was 6'. explains why abeke said she'd never approach someone like him openly, huh? he might have stopped there, but the onset of his croc transformation bumped him up a bit. he's currently 6'2 and continuing to grow, just slowly. he might end up a real giant with a freakishly elongated body as his situation worsens, but that's a problem for another day.

I love eating bone in chicken, I feel so feral when eating meat with my hands and gnawing around bones. Makes me feel aware of the life my meal once possessed, and I can chew up every morsel of edible meat off the bones in a sort of ritual of gratitude for this food. Very reminiscent of the fresh caught fish I was eating near daily when I lived in Wyoming, and the assorted game we ate all the time when I was a kid. I love eating meat. It makes my body feel so strong and nourished!
