dazai making up a whole language with fyodor that no one else can understand is amazing but imagine him using codes that, very objectively speaking, you could crack, it's just that no normal person would ever make the insane leaps in logic that it requires. except for someone familiar with dazai's weird thinking patterns, that is.

i just love the idea of dazai's unhinged antics being dialed up to an eleven when he was in the port mafia, and oda being the only one who simply wouldn't bat an eye at it but chuuya was the only one who would actually get it.

like imagine ango at the end of the jailbreak, his boss saying he should allow himself to sigh and lean back and maybe indulge himself, pat him on the shoulder, tell him what he pulled off reading heart rates wasn't easy and he should be proud for being able to keep up with such a plan

but ango i-drank-with-teenage-dazai-and-also-had-the-records-for-every-soukoku-mission sakaguchi can only remember the time dazai was like using greek sign language through his breathing patterns to communicate from a submarine from beneath the pacific ocean or something, and chuuya could not fathom how no one else could understand him.

and that was the day mori signed off on skk being exclusive partners because every subordinate in the room was crying tears of blood by the time chuuya finished explaining which blood pressure level was warning them about a bomb, which blinking sequence was him conveying the vault password and which series of inhales was just him calling mori a bitch.

(ango also pointedly did not want to think about how smug dazai had looked after the mission when mori confirmed skk would only be each others' partners for efficiency and to maintain everyone else's sanity

or about how when he called chuuya to tell him about dazai's prison break scheme he could only get like 3 out of 276 steps into the plan before chuuya rolled his eyes, said "got it" then hung up and pulled the whole thing off without a hitch.)

Finally got Fish Book 3 out from the library (and 4 on its way!), at last I will be experiencing Real Pregnant Li Yu for myself! After being there for your experience of it finally it's my turn xD You said a bit back you like getting drawing prompts, could I suggest flustered just-realized-his-fish-is-a-cute-boy Prince Jing? He gained confidence quickly but that period where he was embarrassed about things like petting his fish because if his fish is a person petting his tail is like touching his butt was very funny and very cute 💖 He's such a dork <3

I’ve always wondered , how do you pick your colors? Do you have a set color pallet or do you just feel it out as you go?

I’ve noticed such a tasteful use of cools and warms in all of your art , and I’ve always been awestruck by it! So I’d love to hear how that process goes for you :~)

Hello there, and thank you! That's a good question! And I'm OH SO terrible at explaining… How could I answer it?

Well, for starters, I can tell you that, when choosing colors, my number 1 rule is NEVER choose white or black. Instead of white I like to choose a light yellow, and for black I use a dark blue/red. For shading I like to use an opaque purple. Classic! The rest is deciding as I go, trying to see which shade looks best next to the rest.

Although when it comes to characters I draw a lot (Wally Darling, I'm looking at you) I usually have the color palettes saved! So it's much quicker and easier!

But that's not all! I often use filters, too. It's a small process that you could say is already part of my artstyle. Let me break it down for you!

After finishing coloring, what I do is adjust the "brightness" (+10), the "contrast" (-30) and the "color deepen" (+40) to make the color palette more opaque? Then, I add a top layer in multiply/overlay mode and make it, say, yellow! Achieving that vintage filter, if you will!

Of course, sometimes I vary! There are tons of combinations with which you can change the colors of your works completely!

I don't know how all this can work in a program other than SAI, but I encourage you to try it!

Oh umm, I also did this trying to explain how I shade/light my drawings but… yeah… I don't know how to explain it in words. Figure it out yourself...
