How to Maintain Your Flooring in Melbourne
Introduction: Maintaining your flooring is essential for preserving its beauty, durability, and longevity. With the diverse climate and conditions in Melbourne, proper care and maintenance are crucial to keep your floors looking their best. Whether you have laminate, solid timber, vinyl, or tile flooring, this comprehensive guide will provide you with valuable tips and techniques to maintain your flooring in Melbourne.
Regular Cleaning: Regular cleaning is the foundation of proper Flooring Melbourne maintenance. Here are some cleaning tips for different types of flooring: Laminate and Solid Timber: Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dirt and debris. Use a damp mop with a mild cleaning solution specifically formulated for laminate or timber floors. Avoid excessive water and harsh chemicals that can damage the floor's surface.
Vinyl: Sweep or vacuum to remove loose dirt and dust. Clean with a damp mop using a mild detergent or vinyl floor cleaner. Avoid abrasive scrub brushes or harsh chemicals that may scratch or damage the surface.
Tile: Sweep or vacuum to remove loose dirt and debris. Clean with a pH-neutral tile cleaner and a soft mop or cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools that can scratch the tile or grout.
Preventive Measures: Taking preventive measures can significantly reduce wear and tear on your flooring. Here are some tips to protect your floors: Use doormats at entry points to trap dirt and moisture from shoes.
Place protective mats or rugs in high-traffic areas or under furniture to prevent scratches and dents.
Use furniture pads or felt protectors on the legs of chairs, tables, and other furniture to prevent scratching or gouging the floor.
Trim pet nails regularly to avoid scratches on the floor surface.
Wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining or damage to the floor.
Avoid Excessive Moisture: Excessive moisture can cause damage to various types of flooring. Follow these guidelines to prevent moisture-related issues: Laminate and Solid Timber: Avoid excessive water or liquid spills on the floor. Wipe up any spills immediately to prevent warping or swelling of the boards.
Vinyl: While vinyl is more resistant to moisture, it's still important to promptly clean up spills to prevent moisture from seeping beneath the flooring. Use a damp mop rather than wet mopping.
Tile: Ensure that the grout lines are properly sealed to prevent water from penetrating and causing damage. Clean up spills promptly to prevent staining or discoloration of the grout.
Protect from Sunlight: Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade or discolor certain types of flooring. Here's how to protect your floors from sunlight: Use blinds, curtains, or window films to filter or block UV rays from entering the room.
Rearrange furniture periodically to minimize sun exposure on specific areas of the floor.
Use area rugs or furniture pads to create a barrier between the floor and direct sunlight.
Professional Maintenance: For deep cleaning or specialized maintenance, consider hiring professional floor maintenance services. Professional cleaners have the expertise, equipment, and products to deep clean, polish, and restore the original luster of your flooring. They can also provide guidance on specific maintenance requirements for your flooring type.
Conclusion: Proper maintenance is key to keeping your flooring in Melbourne looking beautiful and in top condition. Regular cleaning, preventive measures, avoiding excessive moisture and sunlight, and seeking professional maintenance when needed will ensure the longevity and aesthetic appeal of your floors. By following these tips, you can enjoy your flooring for years to come in the vibrant city of Melbourne.

tis the season for mistletoasters
alternatively: this year she is unhinged with the decorations
in which they invite a select few of their friends over for the holidays and a particular holiday decoration catches them off guard
(series masterlist)
Tumblr media
the door flies open, revealing the smaller girl with her friends standing in the hallway with boxes in their hands and confusion riddling their faces.
"couldn't you have just opened the door like a normal person? don't you have pets in your home?" george frowns, slowly following her inside the small apartment.
"what else do we expect from her?" max follows up.
"wait!" she screeches, arms held out to avoid them walking in any further than the entryway. she points down at their feet. "shoes off!"
"yes," sebastian mutters, already slipping off his shoes right by the door with a hand on the wall to balance himself. "on it."
"wow, very particular," lando teases, though he also slips off his shoes and kicks in towards the wall to keep it neat. he shoves the box into her hands and then pushes past her as he navigates into her apartment. "where is your child? i want to see kidnapper."
"oi, no way!" max screams, pushing past her to chase after lando. "i'm kidnapper's uncle! i suggested she adopt the cat!"
"no, this is the one cat that actually likes me! you've got cats of your own," lando scolds, shoving max to the side as they enter the living room. "i called dibs."
"doesn't matter what you guys say - i'm kidnapper's favourite." alex also pushes past her, chasing after his friends to try and race for the cat's attention. "he will ditch you no matter what."
"two of them are predicted to be future world champions. one of them's won three," she smiles, locking her jaw as she turns around. "thank you for coming over, by the way! happy holidays."
"well, i guess i'm interested if logan can really cook," george shrugs, finally stepping forward to pull her in for a quick hug. he presses his cheeks against hers. "when are you flying off to melbourne?"
she shrugs, frowning. "i haven't booked us a flight yet."
"you're travelling there by foot then?" sebastian raises an eyebrow to tease her with her last-minute planning. "tickets will be expensive if you don't get them now."
"max is lending them his private jet," mick speaks up, finally closing the door behind him. "don't be naughty in there - he won't ever let you use it again if you are!"
"i'm a very tame individual, thank you," she scoffs, leading them into the apartment. "logan's still making dinner, but the cookies finished baking right before you guys decided to all arrive together earlier than expected. i'll be right back out with the cookies."
"you baked cookies?" mick grins, following behind her excitedly. "chocolate chip cookies?"
"yeah, and butterscotch."
"butterscotch?" lando screams from his spot in the living room next to the couch. he's hunched over slightly, eyes darting all over the floor to find her beloved cat. "are those for me?"
"yes! i'll be right back out with them!" she steps into the kitchen, beaming when she finds logan chopping some meat on the counter. "hey, you. they're all here."
"i heard," logan grins, turning to look at her. "how come they didn't ring the intercom? i could have buzzed them up."
she hums, waltzing over to stand behind him and wrapping her arms around his waist. "i caught them at the lobby arguing because they forgot to assign somebody to buy alcohol."
"aw, what? no alcohol?" logan frowns, turning slightly to look at her. "did you get the soy sauce from the store?"
"i did! it's all over there," she beams, pointing to the clutter on the other end of the counter. "also, we still have that stash of soju in my room - that should do while i order some drinks to arrive, right?"
"you and soju?" logan raises an eyebrow. "good luck."
"it's meant to be drank like juice if it tastes like juice!" she argues, taking a step away from him. "do you need help preparing dinner?"
"no, i think-"
"sorry to interrupt. hi, logan." their heads turn to the entrance of the kitchen, lando innocently popping his head past the wall to give them a sheepish smile. "where is kidnapper? we've looked everywhere for him in the living room."
"my room, i think," logan grins.
"cool! which one is your room?"
"no!" she screeches, chasing after lando at the door. "he is in the room because you guys always stress him out! leave my baby alone, please."
"no, we came for him!" max shouts from the living room. "which door is your room, logan? tell me or i'll crash into you in bahrain next year and you can't race!"
"i'll literally snap you in half if you do that!" she screeches, disappearing from logan's sight to run into the living room.
"you're like barely 165cm tall!"
"i will find a way!"
"where's the fucking cat, (y/n)?" lando screeches. "which is logan's room where the beautiful cat sits in?"
"he's not even in logan's room," george scoffs, rolling his eyes. he walks past the bickering trio and walks towards the other end of the apartment. "he's in the balcony right there."
"oh," alex grins, walking calmly past them to slide the door open. "hello!"
"wait," mick says. logan walks out of the kitchen, wiping his wet hands on his pants as he comes in to greet everyone. mick slowly lifts his head at the object - objects - hanging from the ceiling in the corner above their decorated christmas tree. "what is that?"
"that's nothing," she answers immediately, trying to brush off the question.
"no, what is that?" sebastian voices out, following mick's stare at the corner of the room with furrowed eyebrows. "is that a..."
alex walks in, kidnapper nuzzled into his chest as he follows their gaze. "are those toasters plugged into your ceiling?"
logan puts his hands on his hips, looking up at the questionable decoration that she decided to put up for a change. growing up, she used to decorate the house for christmas with appropriate decorations and bright colours that would get people into the mood.
however, she vowed this year to be a bit more lax with the decorations since they're not spending it in the uk. there's a mysterious pair of plugs on their ceiling, and she was scrolling on twitter when the idea hit her in the middle of the night about a week ago.
and logan knows better than to try and tell her off.
"and you let this happen?" sebastian says, slightly disappointed as he turns to the williams driver. "why would you let this happen?"
"hey, this is technically her apartment," logan shrugs, yet his face is flushed from the memory of him helping her plug it in at 3 in the morning just to see her smile and giggle. "she still makes the rules."
"i think they've got a word for people like you," lando whispers, dropping his gaze to ponder if he should insult the younger man. "in america, i think they refer to people like you as 'down bad'."
a pillow heads straight for the back of lando's head, the force that it hits him causes him to stumble a couple steps forward. "leave logan alone! no way you're coming into my apartment and openly hate on my boyfriend!"
"there's just no way he thought plugging toasters off the ceiling is a good idea," lando cries, arms flying up to bring attention to the absurdity of the situation. "explain yourself; why you thought this was a good decoration for the holidays."
"mistletoasters," she scowls, hands on her hips as her lips carve into a scowl. "i couldn't find mistletoe in the store, and i was scrolling on twitter the other night and saw that. it's funny!"
"it's a hazard," sebastian points out. "what if it falls on either of you?"
"that's a stupid way to go out," mick mutters, an eyebrow still raised as his stare lingers on the pair of toasters. "maybe you should take it down before it causes an accident."
she sighs. "i can't reach it."
"wait," max speaks out, stepping forward with his hands up. he has his phone in his hand. "let me take a picture."

I had been living in (hometown) for my whole life, but a spur of the moment decision led to me packing up everything to move to Melbourne. Maybe it was not my best decision since I knew no one, but I could not turn back now.
I found a small apartment in the middle of the city. It was the only one available in the area that I could afford, but it was cute. It was my first day, so I thought the best thing would be to introduce myself to my neighbor. I was on the end of the floor, so I only had one neighbor. I remembered that the best way to make friends was to make food, and I happen to know how to make some of the best cookies anyone's ever had.
I made a small batch to bring over to them since I did not know how many lived there, and if they needed more, I could always bring them more. I set them all on a paper plate and took them over to their door. When I knocked on the door, it sounded like five guys cheered, and my eyes widened. There was no way five people would fit in an apartment as small as mine, but I'm not judging.
After a couple of seconds, one of them opened the door, and he immediately closed the door shouting, "you're not pizza!" I heard a couple of them groan in response.
"But I have cookies?" I replied back, confused. Suddenly, the door opened again. This time, it was a taller guy. "I wanted to introduce myself and bring cookies, but I can leave-"
"No, we like cookies," He cut me off. He gestured for me to come in, and I saw four more guys and a girl. I stayed out in the hall, so he just introduced himself. "I'm Cam, but my friends call me Fitz."
"Interesting, I'm your new neighbor, Y/N. I used to bake a lot back home, so I thought I would make you some cookies, but I realize there might not be enough for everybody," I laughed holding the cookies out for him. He took the plate, and thanked me before I took my leave. "I hope you guys like the cookies. I'm going to head back to my place, but if you want more, just let me know."
"Of course, it was nice to meet you, Y/N," He said, closing the door. I headed back to my apartment, fully ready to chill for the night. I was ready for a night of getting high and binging my favorite show until the early hours of the morning. Maybe I would end up making some special desserts.
~
Unbeknownst to you, the guys were skeptical. In Fitz's apartment, they were debating if you actually made those cookies. Mason was convinced they were store-bought based on how they looked, but once he tasted them, he was in awe. He was sure a professional baker made those cookies, and he really did not believe you made them. Matt and Toby thought he was crazy, but once they tried the cookies, they were on the same page as Mason.
They broke out into a full debate, and it still wasn't solved when Swagger showed up with the pizza. No one even noticed him walk through the door until he slammed it shut.
"What the hell?" He yelled, setting the pizzas on the counter. "Ooo who bought cookies?"
"Try one," Jay enlarged, passing the plate closer to Swagger.
"Are they poisonous or what?" He asked with a laugh before taking the last one and eating it. "Holy shit, who fucking made those?"
"My new neighbor, what do you-" Fitz started asking, but Swagger was already gone. He was already in the hallway, walking up to your door. Everyone held back for a minute to see what he was going to do. He just started banging on your door. It was so loud, they thought the entire floor would wake up. "Swagger, shut up! You're gonna get me kicked out!"
~
It took me a few minutes to realize that the loud knocking was at my door. I thought it was coming from the show, but I also could not find it in me to get up from my spot on the floor. I fell off my couch a while ago and could not figure out how to coordinate my limbs enough to stand, so I just shouted, "It's open!"
The door swung open, and in walked a man, shaking something in his hand. He was talking too fast for me to comprehend what he was saying. He was walking around the couch, still speed-talking about something important, but I cut him off, "You're gonna have to talk a lot slower if you want me to understand."
It was then, he looked down, and he must have seen the look on my face looking back at him from the ground because he hesitated before asking, "Are you okay?"
"Just high, but what'd you want?" I responded slowly.
"I need to know where you got these cookies, and where you got your weed cuz holy shit, you are fucked," he laughed.
"Thanks, I made them, and the weed I brought with me from (hometown)," I replied as he came over and laid next to me on the ground. "What're you doing?"
"Getting in the mindset of someone who knows how to bake the best cookies I've ever had," He laughed as he finished off the cookie. "Also, I ate an edible earlier, and it's just now kicking in."
I let out a gasp and turned onto my side to look at him before asking, "Do you wanna make high cookies? I brought a lot of shit from home, and I used to always make high cookies."
"Is it just making cookies while high or weed cookies?" He asked as he also turned to his side, looking directly into my eyes.
"Weed cookies, obviously," I stated with an eye roll. "What do you think I am? An amateur?"
"No, but we better get started before we're in the stratosphere," He laughed, moving to sit up, and then stand. He held his arm out to pull me up, but instead of heading straight to the kitchen, I took a couple of more rips from my bong before offering it to...wait. Who was in my apartment?
"Wait a minute," I said, pulling the bong back. I started laughing uncontrollably, "Who are you?"
"Oh shit, I'm Fitz's friend, Swagger," He laughed before reaching for the bong. This time, I let him take it, thinking his story checked out.
"Alright, as long as you aren't tryna kill me, we'll be good. Now, to the kitchen!"
~~
"What did I say about starting fights you can't finish?" Swagger threatened after I threw a little bit of flour at him at 2:30 AM one night.
"Who said I can't finish this?" I replied, holding the flour container closer to my body. "I think I'm the only one with ammunition."
"You think flour is the only ammo? I have the batter!" He retorted.
"You wouldn't dare waste the precious batter," I gasped in shock.
"Don't tempt me. I will," He joked as he smeared a little bit of the batter on my nose. I gasped, moving to grab more flour.
"Why you little shit-" I was just about to throw the flow when I paused, hearing someone walk into the kitchen. This gave Swagger enough time to fling some batter at me from the whisk, but I reached over and snatched it out of his hand before he could do it again.
"What the hell are you guys doing?" Matt asked as he came into the warzone of a kitchen.
"We're studying to become dentists," I deadpanned as I licked the batter off my nose and Swagger poured the remaining brownie batter into a pan as if nothing happened. "What does it look like we're doing?"
"Making brownies at 2:30 in the morning? But why? We literally have to get up at 6, and you guys are being loud," Matt said. "Do I look like I'm gonna be sober during this 10-hour road trip with you lot? No. I am gonna be higher than a motherfuckin' kite, Matt. If you want one, you better start helping," I explained as I leaned on the counter and licked the batter off the whisk.
"There's no way you'd eat the whole pan," Matt laughed. "Surely, I could have one."
"Hey, I get some!" Swagger complained as he put the brownies in the oven, set the timer, and wiped his hands off with a towel. He came up behind me, hiding his face in my neck. "I helped, so I get some."
"You always get some, baby," I laughed. Matt gagged, jokingly, as he watched our interaction. I spun around in Swagger's arms, whispering to him, "I wanna sleep. What if we make him clean up?" Swagger nodded, leaning into me more. I threw my head back to look at Matt, "If you want some brownies before we leave, start cleaning, and take them out in 22 minutes."
With that, we left him alone in the kitchen as we headed up to our room. Once we got there, we were ready to collapse into bed after showering and changing.
"It is already 4 Swags," I groaned as he came out of the bathroom. He climbed under the covers on his side of the bed and pulled me into his side. I buried my face into his chest as I wined, "I don't want to have to wake up in 2 hours."
He laughed at my childish behavior before kissing the top of my head, "We could watch a movie, and catch some sleep in the van?" "Sleep? In the same car as Mason and Chad? I don't think we're talking about the same car, babe," I chuckled as I pulled back enough to look up at him. "Trust me, I love them, but they are loud as fuck."
"Ah, but you love me more right?" He teased me.
"Only a little bit," I joked back. He let out an offended gasp as he started pushing me away. I laughed at his antics before retracting my statement, "No, I'm kidding babe. If I didn't love you, would I have said, 'I do'?"
"I guess you're forgiven," He sighed as he turned the lights off. His arm was still loosely wrapped around my shoulder but not nearly as tight as it normally is, so I pulled back, pouting at him. He started laughing as he pulled me back down, "I love you too, now go to sleep."
It was silent for a couple of minutes, and I was just about to fall asleep. However, the creak of our bedroom door caused us to shoot up to see Matt, "Pst, guys. Sorry, but I burnt the brownies."
"Goddammit, Matt!" I groaned, throwing my head back into the pillows. "Are you kidding me?"
"It's 4:20, we could make another batch before 6," Swagger suggested as he looked over at his phone.
"Oh, it's 4:20! We have to go make a batch now because it's 4:20!" I replied, suddenly full of energy, as I jumped out of bed, and pulled Swagger back down to the kitchen.

Chapter 7
Pairing: Bangchan × black female reader named Kel
Word count: 1939
More under the cut!
You woke up the next day laying on Chan's chest on your couch.
Your head was filled with memories of what happened last night. The way he confessed his feelings for you, the kisses you guys shared, the way he didn't let go after the kiss and said he wanted you guys to stay like that which resulted in you falling asleep on him on the couch.
Before you guys eventually slept off, you guys had a heartfelt conversation. He had only two days before he had to go to Melbourne and two weeks before he went back to Korea. You guys would be on different sides of the world. You liked him and he liked you. What was the next step?
You talked about each other's past relationships for a bit and it turned out you guys had only gotten serious with about one to two people over the course of the years and you were never even that happy with them anyways.
You asked him why he never once looked for a way to contact you while he was in Korea and he told you that he was scared to. He said he thought it was better to leave you alone and move on since you were probably happy and had forgotten about him.
He said he threw all that out of the window when he bumped into you at the store.
You raised up your head as slowly as you could, being careful not to wake up Chan. You admired his features for a while. He was still good-looking while he slept.
You wanted to stay there forever. You wanted to remain glued onto his warm body while you felt the rise and fall of his chest, but then you remembered why you woke up in the first place.
You had to pee.
You couldn't hold it in any longer.
You started to wriggle out of Chan's grip as slowly as possible because you didn't want to wake him up and just as your legs were about to touch the floor you were pulled back into your initial position by chan.
"Don't go yet." He said with his morning voice that made your insides flip.
"Chan, I have to pee, and I can't hold it." He groaned but eventually loosened his grip on you and let you go.
"You should get up too so we can have breakfast. I'm going up to pee, and I'm not coming back downstairs till I've brushed my teeth and taken a bath." You were only saying that because you had to take a breather and try to make some sense out of everything.
You didn't wait to get a reaction from him and left immediately to your bathroom. While you were brushing your teeth, you heard the door to Chan's room open and shut so you knew he had gone to do what you told him to.
After brushing your teeth you sat down on your bed to take a breather. Was this real? You bit your arm to confirm that you weren't dreaming and you actually weren't.  Chan liked you. He confessed his feelings for you. You guys kissed yesterday. TWICE.
You were trying to get out an outfit to wear for the day when you realised that all your clothes were in need of washing because you hadn't done laundry since you came in November. The only clean items of clothing you had were some underwear, a pair of shorts and a sports bra. You wouldn't feel comfortable wearing that.
You also wouldn't feel comfortable wearing a dirty outfit, so you did the most sensible thing you could think of
You went to borrow something from chan.
You called out his name in front of his door, and he told you to come in. You explained your ordeal to him, and he looked more than happy to give you one of his shirts to wear.
"Do you have any things you might want to wash before you leave? I can help you do it after I do mine." You asked him, and he said he did, but you didn't have to help him, and he would do it on his own.
You told him you weren't going to argue with him about who was going to do whos laundry and walked out of the room with the shirt he gave you.
His shirt smelt good. It smelt like him. His scent was so intoxicatingly amazing.
You took your shower, put on the shorts and the sports bra, then threw Chan's top on. You smelt the shirt one last time and then admired yourself in your standing mirror before going downstairs to make breakfast.
As you passed Chan's room, you asked him how French toast sounded, and he liked the idea, so you got to the kitchen to begin cooking.
You had whisked the egg, sugar, milk, and cinnamon mix that you would dip the bread into to fry. You put your non-stick pan on the stove and got to frying the drenched pieces of bread. You were halfway done and immersed in what you were doing when you felt two hands encircle your waist and a peck on your cheek.
"What was that for?" You said, not moving your head away from what you were doing, but you were cheesing at your pan, and you were pretty sure he heard it in your voice.
"I don't know, I just felt like." You looked at him out of the corner of your eye, and he was fully red. He was so cute that you wanted to drop everything you were doing and attach yourself to him permanently.
"Tea, hot chocolate or coffee?" He asked you.
"Coffee, please." You said.
He started prepping the coffee maker for you while he got hot chocolate ready for himself. Chan didn't like coffee. Weirdo.
This time, you guys talked more than you ate. You usually ate in 80 percent silence and had little conversations here and there with the remaining 20 percent, but this time, you guys were joking and laughing. You did everything but eat. The wall between you two had really been broken down.
You both finished your food and went into the kitchen to clean up. Chan washed the dishes, and you arranged everything you used in their respective places.
While you were putting things together, you gave into your impulsive thoughts to smack Chan's ass and it resulted in you getting chased around the living room. It wasn't your fault he had such a big bum.
You found your way to the kitchen, and that's when you knew you had nowhere else to run. Your back was facing the island, and chan was right in front of you. You were screwed.
He moved closer to you, making you lean on the island. Just as you thought he was about to kiss you, he said something in your ear instead.
"Don't make me do anything I'm not ready to do yet." You shuddered at his words, and you felt light-headed. You had to say something. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
"Oh, shut up." You said to him and hit his chest.
You both laughed, and he went back to do the dishes.
"Hey, you said you were having trouble with some designs, and I said I wanted to see them. Maybe I'll be able to help you figure something out." Chan reminded you.
"I'll bring them down when we're done here."
You guys finished up in the kitchen, and you brought your all your designs that you weren't quite satisfied with down to the dining table and spread them out for chan to see.
"I have these drawn, but I don't really like them. They don't stick out to me, and I don't think any of these would do well for a new collection. They're just really lacklustre, and I haven't been able to draw a design that I think is good enough. I need them to be ready by the end of the month." Chan nodded his head while you were speaking to him as he was looking thoroughly at all the designs.
"I understand what you're saying about these being lacklustre, but that's individually. Have you tried taking elements from each one you've drawn and putting it all together? You never know what you'll get out of  it." You loved his thought process. Why did you never think of that?
"Okay, I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks for the advice."
"You're welcome."
You packed your papers up and went to keep them in the office, then you went back down to fulfil your promise of listening to the bands music.
The songs were so good you might just become a fan yourself. You were definitely going to add songs to your playlist. Chan explained the positions in the group to you, the different units in the group, and tried to get you to learn the members' names and  faces. The only thing you remembered out of his lecture was that he was in the producing unit of the group called 3racha, and there was another aussie in the group. His name was felix.
You didn't realise how much time had passed, and you still had to do laundry, but you were tired all of a sudden. Chan offered to do the laundry while you got some sleep, and you didn't mind the idea so much now. You told him where everything was and left to your room to take a nap.
You were half asleep when you remembered. Your underwear was also in the laundry basket. Oh no.
You shot up from your bed and dashed to the laundry room, hoping he hadn't gone through the basket trying to sort your light from dark clothes.
"Chan, wait, I have underwear in there!" You said, opening the door of the room. You were a little too late because he had already sorted the clothes and had one set in the machine already.
"I left them all in the basket." He said to you, looking unphased like this was the most normal situation in the world.
"Oh." You said still standing at the door.
"C'mon kel, it's just underwear. Don't make all that fuss. Go back to bed. I'll put them in the wash for you."
"I- I hand wash my underwear." This was so embarrassing.
"Okay then. I'll just leave them in the basket. Go back to bed." You did just that.
In the course of your sleep, chan had come to your room like four times to ask you silly questions like where to trash the lint from the washing machine and what heat setting to dry your clothes on.
"You might as well just come stay in the bed with me if you're going to keep coming here." You said that and used one hand to hold your blanket open in front of you.
This man actually got on the bed. You guys were lying down facing each other, and after a while, he began to speak.
"Hey, so I leave for Melbourne in two days, and I just realised that you live right next to the beach, and we haven't gone down there once. Do you want to go to the beach with me tomorrow?"
You mumbled out a yes from your half asleep lips, and then you felt a kiss on your forehead and your door opening and closing.
He had left your bed and your room.
He was leaving to go across the world soon.

A Widespread Microsoft Outage Disrupted Flights, Banks, Media Outlets And Companies Around The World On Friday And Highlighted Dependence On Software From A Handful Of Providers – New York City reporting
The issue affected Microsoft 365 apps and services, and escalating disruptions continued hours after the technology company said it was gradually fixing it.
Microsoft 365 posted on X that the company was “working on rerouting the impacted traffic to alternate systems to alleviate impact in a more expedient fashion” and that they were “observing a positive trend in service availability.”
Major disruptions reported by airlines and airports grew. Flight tracking website Flightaware reports more nearly 1,000 flights canceled and over 12,000 more are delayed. Chicago O'Hare, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, Newark , La Guardia and Boston Logan International Airport lead Flightaware's "misery map" with the most delays and cancellations.
In the U.S., the FAA said the airlines United, Delta and Allegiant had all been grounded. American Airlines lifted its ground stop just after 5 a.m ET, saying they were able to "safely re-establish operations."
An earlier ground stop for Frontier Airlines was lifted just after midnight, and the carrier said they had resumed normal operations, for now.
Travelers at Los Angeles International Airport slept on a jetway floor, using backpacks and other luggage for pillows, due to a delayed United flight to Dulles International Airport early on Friday.
Across the pond, Edinburgh Airport said the system outage meant waiting times were longer than usual. London’s Stansted Airport said some airline check-in services were being completed manually, but flights were still operating.
The budget airline Ryanair said they are "experiencing disruption across the network due to a global third party IT outage which is out of our control. We advise all passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departure time.”
Widespread problems were reported at Australian airports, where lines grew and some passengers were stranded as online check-in services and self-service booths were disabled. Passengers in Melbourne queued for more than an hour to check in, although flights were still operating. Airlines Virgin Australia and Qantas were severely affected by the outage.
News outlets in Australia — including the ABC and Sky News — were unable to broadcast on their TV and radio channels, and reported sudden shutdowns of Windows-based computers. Some news anchors broadcast live online from dark offices, in front of computers showing “blue screens of death.” Telecommunications providers, banks and media broadcasters were also disrupted as they lost access to computer systems. Outages reported on the site DownDetector included the banks NAB, Commonwealth and Bendigo, as well as internet and phone providers such as Telstra. The New Zealand banks ASB and Kiwibank said their services were down.
Television stations in the United Kingdom were being disrupted by the computer issues.
Hospitals in Britain and Germany also reported problems.
Israel’s Cyber Directorate said that it was among the places affected by the global outages, attributing them to a problem with the cybersecurity platform Crowdstrike. The outage also hit the country’s post offices and hospitals, according to the ministries of communication and health.
In South Africa, at least one major bank said it was experiencing “nationwide service disruptions” as customers reported they were unable to make payments using their bank cards at grocery stores and gas stations.
Numerous European airlines are using manual check-in.

There’s a market that happens every month just outside my apartment complex (like, the first stall is right outside the window you see when you get off the elevator on the ground floor) and this is my first time interacting with any of the stall owners. I wanted to share my purchases, of which I’m very happy with :3
They’re Melbourne based (that’s where I live) but here is the website for the person who made the earrings.
And here is the store for the digital artist who made the sticker! Unfortunately it is an Etsy store but do feel free to support them if you can 💕

i’m sitting on the 51st floor of my friend’s apartment building, it’s a lounge area that looks over melbourne cbd and it is gorgeous, but the lights in this room are blinding. i’ve had a really long day and i’ll probably have an even longer one tomorrow but i don’t wanna leave this building. i feel safe here. i don’t wanna go back home. home is representative of my source of anxiety. home is messy and dirty. home is where the tasks await me. and i just can’t. so with my 48% battery on my phone, i will stay here for as long as i can. it’s already 10:31 pm. but it’s okay my house is a 5 minute walk away. i feel incredibly lonely tonight, like i’ve been craving some sort of romance. and ( very embarrassing ) physical touch. especially when i see or hear about other people in love, it makes me feel so alone. but this is not the time for me to date anyone. and i don’t really like the people i know. i have a therapy session booked for day after tomorrow, basically the day after this assignment is due. so hopefully my brain will be a little clearer by then.
i feel really sleepy and tired even though i overslept the last two days. it’s just that time of the month. pms and psoriasis. causing fatigue. i chopped off a lot of my hair today. didn’t really think it through but it’s fine. idrc. same when i dyed it black. i just do things and it doesn’t matter. it’s just hair.
my friend is really lucky she gets to live in this building. it’s quite a lot more expensive than my apartment. the one i live in is already too expensive for me but somehow i’m managing.
i sat super still for an hour so the motion detector wouldn’t catch me and the lights dimmed down and i stayed by the window for 2 more hours. i really didn’t wanna come back home but i was hungry so i did.
i had one of those chicken curry pies from woolies, i only bought them because they were on sale but damn they are so good, but normally they’re priced at 8$ for 2 pies which is out of my budget :((. but it’s okay i can make my own and freeze them.
2.75+4 + ingredients i already have i can make like a whole bunch of curry chicken pies. but it might not be as good as the store bought ones cause my little toaster that i use as a makeshift oven kind of sucks.
im still hungry, the little pie did not fill me up enough, which makes sense because i only had two tiny pieces of sushi in the last 30 hours. i’m craving another pie but i don’t have any. also something about having food with mayo makes me feel gross and oily. like it’s all over my face. i can’t stand it anymore. i’m so tired. i know ill be getting my periods soon because i have been getting cramps all day.
i finally found the time to open the bag of stuff my uncle dropped off because they’re moving and they no longer need em. there’s a whole bunch of sauces and spices in there. i wonder if my cousin bought these cause these are good ingredients. i’m kinda hungry but there’s nothing to cook at home. there’s pasta but it’s not gonna be substantial enough. i’ve been wanting to buy some parmesan for the longest time but it’s so expensive, and i go through it pretty fast because it’s too good not to. i also kind of like goat cheese, not really in pasta more with like fruit on toast. there’s a thing of frozen shrimp in my fridge afaik, but it’s stuck solid in with the ice layer in my fridge and i wrestled with it but i couldn’t get it out. i’ll just dump it out when i clean my fridge and let everything thaw. it will be okay. it was old anyway.
i’m just so hungry. but i’m just too lazy to make anything or get creative, or eat something i cooked. i wish there was like a sandwich or something i could eat rn. well there’s rice, surumi, wasabi, soy sauce, sriracha, mayo, chilli oil, carrots, and nori. but i just wish i had some cucumber. i’ll go buy some tomorrow along w some cooked shrimp. maybe the frozen cutlets. i kind of miss them.

Cafe Edition: Stylenanda Pink Hotel and Pink Pool Cafe
🇰🇷 스타일난다 핑크풀카페
📍Hongdae: 335-21 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul
📍Myeongdong: 66-2 Chungmu-ro2ga, Jung-gu, Seoul
📆 Year-round, best to visit during weekdays soon after opening. The Hongdae location is nearby Hongik University Station, and the cafe fills with students at lunch time.
Stylenanda
Stylenanda is a Korean fashion and beauty brand which began in 2004. Now owned by L’Oreal, the make-up division is the popular 3CE.
Tumblr media
Stylenanda have two cafes - the Pink Pool Cafe located in Hongdae and Pink Hotel in Myeongdong. Both cafes are bright, pink, and thoroughly Instagrammable.
Pink Hotel Myeongdong
The Pink Hotel is located in the bustling shopping district of Myeongdong in Seoul. Myeongdong is crammed with department stores, independent retailers, restaurants, and cafes.
Stylenanda Pink Hotel is on six floors, and despite the name it is not actually a hotel; it’s a fashion retail store and cafe.
Tumblr media
Exterior of Pink Hotel, Myeongdong (source)
The theme of both cafes is, obviously, pool and hotel related. Everything is made to look just like 1950s vintage pool decor -  from the changing rooms made to look like showers, to the pool rules adorning the walls, to the umbrellas over the seating.

The menu is filled with sweet fare, such as cotton candy coffee (which I’ve actually had here in Melbourne, it’s amazing).

Stylenanda Pink Pool Cafe Hongdae
The location in Hongdae is much larger and grander than Myeongdong, and is the one with the pool! According to There She Goes Again, it is the one where you can most sit down, relax and take in the atmosphere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Hongdae location is much larger and more spacious, but keeps with the same vibe. (source)

The pool, sadly, is not for swimming, even dipping in your toes. It’s purely decoration. (source)

Either location would be amazing to visit and take photos!

We have a new citizen in Mount Phoenix:
Theodore Bang, who is also known as Theo,                                      a 24 year old son of Hathor.                               He is a paramedic with the MPFD.
FC NAME/GROUP: Christopher Bang / Bang Chan, Stray Kids CHARACTER NAME: Theodore “Theo” Bang AGE/DATE OF BIRTH: 24; April 3, 1998 PLACE OF BIRTH: Melbourne, Australia OCCUPATION: Paramedic with the MPFD HEIGHT: 171 cm WEIGHT: 65 kg DEFINING FEATURES: Dimples, naturally wavy/curly hair. "MMVII" tattooed on the inside of his right wrist, "MMXXI" tattooed on the inside of his left wrist; honouring the death years of his family and grandmother respectively.
PERSONALITY: Theo is optimistic and cheerful, always eager to brighten the day of those around him. He is constantly striving to improve himself and do the very best he can to help people through his work. Definitely the self-sacrificing type, he will power through exhaustion, hunger and pain (if necessary) to make sure that people in bad situations get the help that they need.
He cherishes his friends and loved ones, keeping them close for fear that they may be ripped away from him like his family was. He is not naive or dumb, but he can be rather oblivious and distracted, often having a lot of things on his mind - making him easily fit into the himbo stereotype.
HISTORY: [TW: family death]
Theo was born in Melbourne, after his father had an affair with a woman who disappeared into thin air, leaving the baby behind. A couple of years later, his father married an Australian woman who already had two daughters. Theo grew up adoring his older sisters, vaguely aware that they were not actually related, but loving them all the same. He was just a loving kid, and he always had been. Everyone who met him said that he was a ray of sunshine personified, and they affectionately called him “Teddy”.
Tragedy struck when he was nine years old. On the way home from a family trip, a drunk driver swerved into their lane and hit their car head-on. Disoriented and nursing a broken leg, Theo dragged himself out of the car and watched his family members die while they waited for help to arrive. When the EMTs finally rushed over to the car, he was the only one left.
After that, he was sent to live with his paternal grandmother in Korea - the only living relative the authorities could locate. Theo tried not to dwell on the horrible accident, although he was not nearly as happy as the child his grandmother remembered visiting only a few months previously. It took the better part of a year for him to start acting like himself again. When the first anniversary of the accident rolled around, he told his grandmother that he wanted to become a paramedic.
“I never want anyone to die because there’s no one there to help them. I’m gonna help them.”
After that, he opened up again - he started making friends at his new school and getting better grades. His teen years were fairly happy ones. He kept himself busy; studying hard, joining his high school swim team, and taking a part-time job at a convenience store to help out his grandmother. They did not have a lot of money, but he never felt like he wanted more. He was just thankful that he had his grandmother to support him.
Once he had graduated high school, he went to university for a BS in Emergency Medical Services. He began hitting the campus gym before classes, knowing that being physically fit would only help with his career goals.
His grandmother died three months before he was set to graduate. Theo was devastated. He felt like the floor had fallen out from under him. Nothing mattered anymore. How could it, when the one person who had always been there for him was gone?
He withdrew from his classes and took a six month break from university, trying to work through his grief and find direction again. He hit the gym even harder, working out until he nearly passed out. When that didn’t work, he went back to swimming and took up pottery, just trying to find some peace.
Eventually, he just felt sick of feeling sorry for himself. Or maybe he had given himself the time he needed to heal and he was ready to get his life back on track. Regardless, he finished off his last semester of school and graduated. Only a few weeks later, he started working at the Asan Medical Center in Seoul.
The work was tiring and draining most days, but he liked that it kept him busy. He liked that he could help people who were scared and hurt, whether it was by saving them or by making them comfortable in their final moments. It was always horrible when a patient died, but he knew that he always did his best to save them - and he had to be okay with the fact that some people were just too hurt or sick for anyone to help them, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to handle the job.
He was six months into the job when he finally decided that he needed to clean out his grandmother’s apartment. Up until that point, he had left all of her things untouched, but the building was old and there were a lot of issues. Since he had a dependable salary now, he was starting to think about moving to a nicer place. Which meant going through, and getting rid of, his grandmother’s things.
It was hard. He felt like he was doing something disrespectful; putting her clothes and books in bags to take to a thrift store, taking her jewelry to be appraised at a pawn shop. He kept a few small things, but he knew that it was best to let most of it go.
He was nearly done cleaning out her room when he stumbled upon a book that his grandmother used to read to him when he was young. He hadn’t realized she still had it, but the fact that she had filled him with warmth. To his surprise, though, an envelope fell out of the book when he opened the yellowed pages. It had his name on it.
The note inside spoke of a woman names Hathor -his birth mother, apparently- and an island called Mount Phoenix. “When I am no longer here, this is a place where you will be safe,” it read. Theo was not sure if he believed any of it, but since he had already been planning on moving… Well, why not, right?
PANTHEON: Egyptian CHILD OF: Hathor POWERS: Theo feels a natural protective instinct towards women, to the point that he will happily put himself in harm’s way to protect them, even if they are a stranger. He is also very charming, able to put a smile on someone’s face and erase their worries just by being around them - an effect that can last even a few hours after they have left his presence. STRENGTHS: Very physically fit, charming, has an optimistic and flexible go-with-the-flow attitude. WEAKNESSES: Overworks himself, always puts the needs of others over his own, has a hard time processing negative emotions.

How to Maintain and Clean Your Melbourne Flooring for Longevity - Budget Floors
Introduction: Investing in quality flooring is a significant decision for homeowners in Melbourne. To ensure the longevity and beauty of your floors, proper maintenance and regular cleaning are essential. Melbourne's diverse climate and environmental factors, such as dust, humidity, and foot traffic, can take a toll on your floors if not properly cared for. we will provide you with practical tips and guidelines on how to maintain and clean your Flooring Melbourne , helping you preserve its quality and extend its lifespan.
Understand the Flooring Type: Different types of flooring require specific cleaning and maintenance approaches. Whether you have hardwood, laminate, vinyl, carpet, or tiles, it's crucial to understand the manufacturer's recommendations and guidelines for your specific flooring type. Familiarize yourself with the recommended cleaning products, techniques, and any restrictions to ensure you're providing the appropriate care.
Regular Sweeping and Vacuuming: Regular sweeping or vacuuming is the foundation of proper floor maintenance. Dust, dirt, and small debris can accumulate on your floors and act as abrasive particles, causing scratches and damage over time. Use a soft-bristle broom or a vacuum cleaner with a suitable attachment to remove loose dirt and debris regularly. This simple practice helps prevent surface scratches and keeps your floors looking clean and well-maintained.
Use Suitable Cleaning Products: When it comes to cleaning your Flooring Melbourne, it's crucial to use the right cleaning products. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture that can damage the floor's finish or material. Instead, opt for pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaners recommended by the flooring manufacturer. Dilute the cleaner according to the instructions and use a mop or microfiber cloth to clean the surface gently. Wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining or water damage.
Protect Against Scratches and Dents: To maintain the longevity of your floors, it's important to take preventive measures against scratches and dents. Place floor mats or rugs in high-traffic areas, near entryways, or in front of sinks to capture dirt and prevent abrasive particles from being tracked onto the floor. Use furniture pads or felt protectors on the legs of chairs, tables, or other furniture to prevent scratches caused by movement or shifting.
Address Spills and Stains Immediately: Promptly addressing spills and stains is crucial to prevent permanent damage to your flooring. Wipe up spills immediately using a clean, damp cloth or paper towel. Avoid excessive scrubbing, as it may spread the spill or push it further into the floor. If you encounter stubborn stains, consult the manufacturer's guidelines or seek professional advice for appropriate stain removal techniques.
Protect Flooring from Sunlight: Melbourne's sunlight can be intense, and prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause fading or discoloration of certain flooring materials. Protect your floors by using blinds, curtains, or UV-protective window films to minimize direct sunlight exposure. Rearranging furniture periodically can also help ensure even fading and prevent distinct discoloration in certain areas.
Schedule Professional Maintenance: While regular maintenance and cleaning can go a long way in preserving your flooring, it's beneficial to schedule professional maintenance periodically. Professional cleaning and maintenance services can deep clean your floors, remove embedded dirt or grime, and provide specialized treatments to revitalize and protect the flooring's finish or surface.
Conclusion: Maintaining and cleaning your Flooring Melbourne is essential for preserving its longevity, beauty, and value. By following the appropriate cleaning techniques, using suitable products, and taking preventive measures, you can ensure that your floors remain in excellent condition for years to come. Remember to refer to the manufacturer's guidelines, address spills promptly, and seek professional assistance when needed. With proper care and attention, your Melbourne

Timeless Entertainment: Pinball games have a universal appeal and provide endless hours of fun for players of all ages.

Collector’s Item: Certain pinball machines, especially vintage or limited-edition models, can appreciate in value over time, making them not just fun but also a potential investment.
Where to Buy a Pinball Machine in Melbourne
If you’re in Melbourne, there are several reputable places to buy pinball machines:

Tumblr media
New vs. Used Pinball Machines: What’s the Difference?
When buying a pinball machine in Melbourne, you’ll encounter two main categories: new and used (or restored). Here’s a quick breakdown of the pros and cons of each:
New Machines: If you’re looking for the latest technology, new pinball machines offer advanced features, modern designs, and higher reliability. They also often come with manufacturer warranties and after-sales support. However, they can be quite expensive, with prices ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars.
Used Machines: Vintage or used pinball machines have a charm that modern machines often lack. Many buyers appreciate the craftsmanship and history behind these older models. However, used machines may require more maintenance and repairs, and finding replacement parts can sometimes be a challenge. Be sure to purchase from a reputable source that offers refurbishment and warranty options.
Factors to Consider When Buying a Pinball Machine
Space: Before purchasing, ensure you have enough room to accommodate the machine. Pinball machines are typically large, requiring not just floor space but also enough room for players to move comfortably.
Budget: Pinball machines range in price depending on their age, condition, and rarity. Set a budget that includes not only the cost of the machine but potential repairs or maintenance.
Theme: From movie-based themes like Star Wars to classic machines like Addams Family, choose a pinball machine that resonates with your personal taste and fits into your décor.
Maintenance: Pinball machines are mechanical devices that require regular upkeep. Ensure that you are either prepared to maintain the machine yourself or have access to local repair services in Melbourne.
Conclusion
Buying a pinball machine in Melbourne is more than just purchasing a game—it's an investment in nostalgia, entertainment, and even collectible value. Whether you’re opting for a new machine or a vintage classic, Melbourne’s pinball community offers numerous options to explore. Make sure you do your research, assess your space, and consider your budget to find the perfect machine that will keep you and your guests entertained for years to come.

Experience Perfection in Wallpaper Installation with Melbourne’s Leading Experts
Tumblr media
Wallpaper removal is a fantastic way to add character and charm to your home. However, when it comes time to redecorate, removing wallpaper can seem like a daunting task. Many people worry about damaging the walls or being left with sticky residue. Fortunately, with the right techniques and tools, you can remove wallpaper efficiently and without causing harm to your walls. In this blog, we will explore five easy and effective ways to remove wallpaper without damaging the surface, making the job a lot less overwhelming.
Preparation is Key
Before diving into wallpaper removal, preparing the area is essential for success. Start by removing any furniture, décor, and items near the walls. Protect your floors by laying down drop cloths or plastic sheeting. Turning off the power to any electrical outlets and covering them with tape can prevent moisture from seeping into the circuits.
Next, identify what type of wallpaper you have. Some wallpapers are strippable and can be peeled off easily, while others are more stubborn and require additional steps. Check whether your wallpaper has a vinyl coating by attempting to peel a corner. If it doesn’t come off easily, it may be a non-strippable type, which will require extra effort to remove.
Use Water and Soap
One of the simplest and least damaging ways to remove wallpaper is by using a mixture of water and soap. This method is effective for most wallpaper types, especially those that are not waterproof.
Start by scoring the wallpaper lightly with a utility knife or scoring tool to allow the water to penetrate. Then, fill a spray bottle with warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Spray the mixture generously over the wallpaper, ensuring it soaks through the surface. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to loosen the adhesive.
Tumblr media
Once the wallpaper begins to bubble or soften, use a plastic scraper to gently peel it away. Be cautious not to scrape too hard, as this could damage the wall beneath.
Steam Removal
For tougher wallpaper, steam removal is a highly effective method. Steamers work by applying heat and moisture, which softens both the wallpaper and the adhesive. If you don't own a wallpaper steamer, many hardware stores offer rental services.
To use a steamer, hold the device close to the wallpaper, allowing the steam to penetrate the paper. After a few minutes, the wallpaper should start to loosen, making it easier to peel away with a scraper. Steaming is especially useful for wallpapers that have been on the wall for many years or are applied over several layers.
Tumblr media
Vinegar Solution
For those seeking a more natural approach, a vinegar solution can be a surprisingly effective method for wallpaper removal. Vinegar helps dissolve the adhesive, making it easier to remove the wallpaper without harsh chemicals.
To create the solution, mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle. Spray it generously onto the wallpaper and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. Like with the soap and water method, use a plastic scraper to remove the softened wallpaper.
This method works particularly well for older wallpapers that have started to deteriorate and require a gentle touch to avoid damage to the wall.
Tumblr media
Chemical Wallpaper Removers
If the wallpaper is particularly stubborn, chemical wallpaper removers can be a last resort. These removers are designed to dissolve the adhesive quickly and effectively. Available in both liquid and gel forms, they can be applied with a sponge or spray bottle.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and allow the chemical to sit for the recommended amount of time. Once the wallpaper is loosened, use a scraper to remove it in large sections. Always wear gloves and ensure the area is well-ventilated when using chemical removers.
Conclusion
Removing wallpaper may seem like a time-consuming and challenging task, but with the right techniques, it can be done efficiently and without damaging your walls. Whether you choose the water and soap method, a steamer, a vinegar solution, or a chemical remover, it’s essential to take your time and be patient. Each method has its strengths depending on the type of wallpaper you're dealing with, and a combination of methods may even be necessary for more stubborn wallpapers. By following these easy and effective steps, you can enjoy a fresh, clean wall ready for new décor.
