Manuela is crying and drinking red wine in the infirmary in front of her patients because she had to break up with her 25 year old boyfriend after he called her "pal" in bed. Balthus is back in his home in the sewer describing everything to Yuri because he's confused and can't understand where he went wrong. Yuri has immediately understood what upset Manuela and instead of explaining it to Balthus has decided to convince him that Balthus is just bad at sex

Hello! I hope that you are doing well!
I just wanted to send you a question regarding the amount of power Rhea has in Fódlan since something came to my mind. You know how during Edelgard's coronation, she said to her father that, "The Archbishop of the Church of Seiros would normally act as witness, but my professor will fill that role instead"?
Unless I missed something [or am overthinking], do you believe that Rhea was even there to witness Ionius' coronation?
We were told in the game that it had been ages since a member of House Hresvelg enrolled into the Officers Academy as well as that there had recently been a rift between the Adrestian Empire and the Church of Seiros.
Therefore, to me at least, that implied that said rift had been going on for a while. And I do not see why they would allow her there if such a thing was going on. Yet, Rhea does not retaliate against this as far as I know. Then there is the fact that Edelgard is allowed to be coronated without Byleth's presence. The Southern Church was dismantled, too, so…I think it is safe to say that there was not an official to witness her from there as well. lol
To put it simply, it feels very contradictory to me and adds a crack into the "Rhea controls Fódlan" perspective.
Hi!
I agree, that NPC going all "the empire and hthe church cut ties eons agao that's why supreme leader is the first imperial heir to attend since ages" suggests Rhea wasn't very welcomed in Enbarr.
FWIW the Nopes book about the Southern Church incident reveals the Emperor of that time already wanted to cut ties with the Central Church - and used this rebellion (which was more or less a Varley daughter wanting to have a role instead of letting her bother inherit everything?) as an excuse to finally give them the boot.
In a nutshell, I heavily doubt Rhea was around when Ionius was coronated, if her Church was already "not welcomed" by the time the Southern Church was disbanded.
The Archbishop acting as witness might be just some sort of old ceremonial thing, just like the "covenant of the red blood and the white sword", maybe all coronations try to renact the "oath" Wilhelm took/swore to Seiros when she presumably made him Emperor of Adrestia? And the Archbishop acts as a stand in for Seiros (even if we know better!) when the oath is sworn again by Willy's descendants?
As you pointed out, the Archbishop being present or not is merely decorum, since nowhere the game suggests that in the non-CF routes, Supreme Leader's coup coronation isn't regular or anything.
Rhea controlling Fodlan isn't backed up by canon, Adrestia has been doing its own thing for several centuries, the CoS only provides help (the game doesn't tell us what it is!) to Faerghus : Dimitri becomes King not because Rhea crowns or splashes oil on him, but because he is the Crown Prince and the last heir of the previous King. As for the Alliance, it does its own thing without her input!

Gatekeeper: Greetings Archbishop! Would you uh... like me to do anything about all these people who keep showing up looking for 'McDonalds'? (OOC: I noticed you've been getting a lot of those asks lately so I thought I'd send something related to that)
Bring them to the infirmary at once as soon as any abnormal behavior is realized. We may not be able to cure this sickness quite yet, however that does not mean that we can allow them to roam free. We know not if it is contagious as of now. Our best course of action is to contain them in a controlled environment until we can find a better alternative.

I just found your blog and I am EXTREMELY IN LOVE with how you write Claude. Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
If you take request, I'd love to see a jealous Claude of some sort. Or Claude having a crush on you and he wants to be very tactical about it but fails because for once he also stumbles over his words.
~🌻🌻🌻
Hello Sunflower anon! I promise I hadn't forgotten your ask, I just didn't want to respond until I had something to show for it. Now, here it is! Hope you enjoy! :)
Also available on Ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/52063906
Out of the corner of his eye, Claude found himself watching you.
The Leicester Alliance might not have been as...enthusiastic in their celebrations as the kind of feasts that went down in Almyra, but they still knew how to host a party when the situation called for it. The buffet table groaned with a banquet of food that would have been unthinkable just a year or so ago and everyone was dressed in their best outfits, determined to finally enjoy some splendour after fighting their way through some of the bleakest days in living memory.
You were working the room, the goldenrod gown you were wearing rustling across the polished marble floors. He wondered if you had picked out that colour for any particular reason – was it simply because it looked nice on you, or was it some kind of message? A code, if you will.
“A woman’s outfit isn’t just for practicalities, Claude!” He heard Hilda’s voice chiming in his head, something she’d told him once in the old days at the Academy, when he’d once asked why she bothered to wear perfume and earrings to a mock battle. “When you pick out your clothing, you’re making a statement about who you are! And not just the girls – look around you sometime if you don’t believe me!”
He’d been sceptical of this claim initially, but after that conversation, Claude had found himself paying closer attention to how his fellow Golden Deer and other students wore their uniforms and had been both surprised and intrigued to see that Hilda had been right. It was in the little things, like Hilda’s skirt being as short as she could possibly get away with without incurring the wrath of Seteth, while Marianne made sure her uniform covered as much as herself as possible, like she was using the fabric to hide in. Then you had Sylvain with his sleeves rolled up and his hair messy, like he’d just rolled out of bed and couldn’t be bothered to button up the cuffs or front of his jacket. Then you had Lorenz and that ridiculous rose he always wore pinned to his lapel…
Speaking of Lorenz and his questionable choice in accessories, Claude spied the man himself across the room…and there you were, laughing at something he was saying.
An unfamiliar knot of irritation tightened in Claude’s chest, which was ridiculous…Lorenz was your old classmate, after all, so why wouldn’t you be catching up with him? There was plenty to catch up on, after all, especially now that the wore was officially over and Fodlan could breath a sigh of relief…
Yet he still didn’t like the way Lorenz was staring at you, like he’d discovered a rare new species of flower or bird. No doubt you looked even more lovely close up, but Claude wondered if you remembered what Lorenz used to be like around female students at Garreg Mach, to the point that Teach herself had to step in. As the sun poured into the room, catching on the jewellery you were wearing around your neck and in your ears, Claude couldn’t help but wonder what you had been thinking when you chose them, if each item was a tool in your arsenal to be deployed at the key moment…
“Stare, much?”
Claude jolted and turned to see Hilda, who was unsurprisingly in a resplendent pink gown that was clinging lovingly to her curves – if she was trying to convey a message with her outfit, then “Look at me!” seemed to be the end result.
“Hilda!” Claude greeted her, shooting her an easygoing smile that did not quite reach his eyes. “I see that you’re already enjoying the festivities.”
“Oh, there’s plenty to enjoy around here,” Hilda said airily. “But I have to say, you’re not looking as happy as the hero of the hour should be. Are you wishing you’d stayed home in Almyra?”
It was still so strange to hear the other half of him spoken aloud so casually, when he’d been hiding it so painstakingly for five years. Yet it came with an undeniable surge of relief.
“My home is here and Almyra.” Claude replied diplomatically. “Anyway, you think I’d pass up an opportunity to see everyone all together again?”
“Hmm, that’s true.” Hilda nodded, sipping from her glass of champagne. “This is a prime time to start forging diplomatic relations, isn’t it? Looks like those two over there are already making inroads.”
Hilda tilted her head, pink hair slipping off her shoulder, an amused little smile playing about her lips, like she knew something Claude didn’t. She’d always been able to see through him, and vice versa.
So no doubt Hilda had noticed the way that, no matter who Claude was talking to, his eyes kept wandering back to you, tracking you all about the ballroom as though he was worried that the moment he wasn’t making sure you were still there, you might just disappear.
“I thought the war taught you that sometimes you can’t just stand back and watch before you make a move.” Hilda remarked.
“It did.” Claude replied evenly, his green eyes growing half-lidded as Lorenz put his hand on your waist.
“Then go and talk to her! It’s not cute to stand around pouting at your age, you know.”
“Ha! You’re one to talk – you’ll be pouting to get your way until you’re an old lady.” Claude said, imagining an eighty-year-old Hilda in pigtails. “And I know.”
“Good, because it’s so exhausting trying to play matchmaker.” Hilda said, with an affected hair toss, before she spotted someone across the room and gave them a dainty little wave, her fingers fluttering.
“Oh, there’s Caspar! I promised him a dance!” she lilted, before swanning away, the scent of her perfume wafting behind her – Claude caught a whiff of anemones.
“Bet that’s not all you promised.” He murmured under his breath.
Nevertheless, Claude heeded her advice, because as spacy as she might have liked to seem, Hilda was a startlingly perceptive woman under her ditzy attitude. He strode across the room, boots clicking on the polished floors, surging ahead before he could start doing what he always did. Running through various scenarios in his head like he was figuring out his next move in chess, making contingency plans, scheming. It was his fall-back from when he was a scrawny young boy, hiding in the shadows from those who sought to harm him that he couldn’t possibly retaliate against physically. Old habits died hard, despite everything.
“Lorenz! I see your fashion sense has improved since our school days! Well, somewhat.” Claude said in a cheery voice as he approached the two of you. “Remember how people used to ask if you’d tried to cut your hair with an axe?”
“May I remind you, Claude, that you wore the same uniform as me back then?” Lorenz sighed, but it lacked the genuine irritation it once did.
“I see you still like yellow, though.” You said to Claude, turning your head to smile at him, though that smile was teetering on being a smirk.
Claude’s mouth went dry.
“So do you.” He replied. He didn’t mean to say that; it just popped out before he could stop himself. It was unlike Claude to be so concise with his wording, he had always tended to err on the side of verbosity, yet…
Your smile widened and heat spread across your cheeks, and his own mouth curved in a smirk.
“Yes, well, we were just about to dance-“ Lorenz said haughtily, seeming not to notice your reaction to Claude’s comment, and the latter gave a wince of faux-sympathy.
“Ooh, sorry, Duke of Gloucester, but she already promised the next one to me. Did she not say? Ah, for shame, my lady!”
“Oh, right, yeah,” you said, before quickly turning your head to Lorenz. “Apologies, do excuse me. But you know, if you’re looking for a dance partner, why not ask Marianne? She’s been standing over there by herself a while, it would probably be nice for her to see a face she recognises.”
“Ah, yes, what a good idea!” Lorenz said, his face brightening at the suggestion, turning to look across the ballroom. “I had to speak with her about Margrave Edmund’s proposition…”
He wandered off, still muttering under his breath, though it was obvious neither you nor Claude cared whatsoever what he was talking about. Instead, Claude offered a hand with a slightly mocking edge to it, unable to resist bucking against convention.
“Shall we?”
You accepted his hand and he lead you into the middle of the room where several people were dancing, and he saw Hilda shoot him a grin as Caspar somewhat clumsily whirled her around in a blur of pink and blue. Claude rested one of his hands on the small of your back and though the contact was hardly anything risqué, it still sent a bolt of delight through you.
“So you really did mean to dance.” You remarked, falling into step with him almost without thinking about it. You’d been instructed how to dance for formal events like this by your parents when you were younger and as much of an irritating chore as they’d felt at the time, it was like second nature now.
“What else could I have meant?” Claude replied, lifting one hand to twirl you around. “I could have challenged you to a duel, I suppose, but neither of us seem dressed for the occasion.”
“Well, for a second there, I thought you were just going to start grunting and throw me over your shoulder.” You teased, as he pulled you in again. “That was quite the glare you were giving Lorenz Hellman Gloucester.”
“Do you want to be thrown over my shoulder?” Claude asked, tilting his head. “Or would that put a dampener on all your schmoozing?”
“Forging important political alliances, you mean.” You corrected Claude with a smirk. “Goodness, Claude. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were jealous.”
“And if I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were purposefully trying to induce a little jealousy.” Claude replied, eyes sliding down to your lips.
You tilted your chin up, defiantly.
“And if I was?”
There was a small silence, a verbal gauntlet thrown down, and Claude looked at you with an expression that made your insides twist. He reached his free hand out and twined a lock of your hair around his finger, his expression thoughtful.
“Then I’m afraid you’re just going to have to suffer the consequences.”
~
“Claude…Claude!”
You were sweating. Heated kisses and a warm, muscular body pressing you to the wall would do that to a person. Along with the fact that you were only on the other side of the room from the entire ballroom – if somebody left to get a little fresh air, for example, they might well stumble on the scene of the new Duke of House Riegan kissing you against the wall like a naughty schoolboy. You pulled back, feeling a little dazed.
“I know you like to make risky moves, Claude, but isn’t this a bit much?” you said, a touch breathlessly.
Claude laughed softly, breath tickling your cheek as he moved in closer, pressing his lips to your neck.
“I consider the pros to outweigh the cons in this specific scenario.” He replied in a murmur.
“Which are?” You giggled.
“Pros: I get to put my hands on you,” Claude replied, sucking hard on the skin of your throat, making you gasp. “Cons: Someone might see me put my hands on you.”
“Then why are you doing this in a place where the cons could become a real possibility?” You asked, though you knew the answer already – you just wanted to know if he’d admit to it.
“If you want a gamble to have the best possible payoff, then you have to make sure the risk is big enough.” Claude replied with a wry smile, his fingers squeezing your hips. “Anyway, I didn’t hear you doing much maidenly protesting. Though your mouth was quite occupied at the time…”
You laughed and pulled him down for another kiss, because he was quite right, of course – knowing that other people were there, mooning for someone else across the room but not daring to make a move, or chastely dancing together while secretly wishing they could do so much more, gave you an adrenaline rush you hadn’t felt since you were standing on a battlefield so many months ago. These thrills were less likely to come with the potential cost of your life, but they were exciting in an entirely new way.
“Claude…” you mumbled, leaning into him, resting your hands on his chest, feeling his heart pounding against your palms. It was true you’d wanted to get his attention today – he’d been away in Almyra for months and you’d missed him. Missed his laugh, the easy way he could banter with just about anyone, the sharp line of his jaw and the particular shade of green of his eyes…perhaps going around in a dress the same colour as that cape of his was a little on the nose, but it seemed to have worked.
“Mm?” he seemed preoccupied with your earrings, taking one and giving it a playful little tug, an emerald sparkling between his teeth.
“How long exactly is the hero of the Leicester Alliance expected to stay at the ball until he can flee into the sunset?” you asked, tilting your head.
"Flee? Is that how you see me? Some coward who's always running away at the drop of a hat?” Claude asked, holding a hand to his chest in a parody of shock. "I'm not Bernadetta!"
“I wouldn’t call you a coward,” you said, then paused. “But you do tend to rush from place to place without giving people a chance to say goodbye.”
Understanding dawned across his face, and he ran his fingers through your hair, his touch gentle.
“I had things to do. But I always intended to come back.” He said, simply. It wasn’t easy feeling torn between two things all the time, but he had hope that now, he could finally act as a whole for the first time in his life.
“Still, a word or two would have been nice…” You said, a little churlishly, unwilling to melt under his touch just yet, not wanting to give up your grievances so easily. You didn’t consider yourself the type to be pining over anyone, but Claude von Riegan wasn’t just anyone.
And here was something you loved about Claude, one of the many things – instead of getting exasperated or defensive at your stubbornness, your unwillingness to just sink into the moment, into him, a slow smile spreads across his face, honey-sweet.
“Oh, sweetheart.” He cooed, cupping your face. “Did you miss me that much?”
The sting of his teasing was mitigated by the way he kissed you next, soft and sensually, the scruff of his beard rubbing against your skin, but you didn’t care, you were too busy kissing him back, lips tingling, sighing against him as his hands squeezed your waist like he didn’t want to let go.
“You know, I think I might be able to make it up to you.” Claude said breathlessly, when you both finally paused for ear. Some of your lipstick was smudging his face and a perverse stab of pride poked you at the sight of it. “If you’re willing, that is.”
“That depends on what it is,” you replied, your lips tingling. You knew you were smiling despite your grumpy tone.
“Oh, you’ll like it. But we’d have to get on my wyvern to see it.” Claude replied, brushing his thumb across your bottom lip. “Think of it as an adventure.”
An adventure with Claude sounded…well, even a casual conversation with Claude could be exciting, he was the kind of person who could talk about any subject. But to be whisked away into the unknown made your stomach perform a swooping feeling, almost a pre-emptive recreation of what sitting atop a dragon was like.
“So am I being kidnapped now?” You said with an excited giggle, the possibilities opening up to you suddenly making this spacious corridor seem like a prison you’re about to break free from, and Claude laughed back. “Will you stop and write out a ransom first?”
“You know what us Almyrans alike. We just can’t resist something pretty to take for our own.” He teased, pulling your flush against him. “What do you say we have a real celebration?”
His eyes glinted with mischievous intent, reminding you sharply of the emerald earrings you’d carefully slotted into your ears as you were dressing for the ball. You leaned into his embrace, breathing in the scent of Claude, parchment and cloves and pine needles.
“That’s fine with me. I don’t mind being stolen.” You whispered back to him, and his answering kiss sealed the deal.

How to send asks...
For anons: please make up a realistic fake name. It's for the sake of the theme. Example:
Dear Brynlee,
I can't stop brainrotting about Zhongli like what if he's a prince- prince au zhongli with princess consort reader go brrrrrrr like wtf i can't stop thinking about morax girl i need help
Ms. Sophia Pendragon
I won't entertain "can I be 🗣️ anon" asks. This will let me know if an anon read the rules. Plus, I prefer using names rather than scrambling to find emojis instead. I quit my old one despite being a decently "successful" blog because anons do not respect personal boundaries on my asexuality despite it being explicitly written down. This is just an act of self-preservation.
When sending asks please note that this blog is following Three Houses' worldbuilding. Claiming to be a God or some Diety in the asks will certainly follow confused responses as majority of the cast believes only in Sothis. Modern inventions will likely confuse "Brynn" as well. That is all!
P.S: if you wish to talk to me as a creator, address me as Beloved/B rather than Brynn so I know when to break character. Ty!

And my final Big Project............... A performing arts school AU featuring @peachiehambo's Yoona and the Fodlan kids, in which they put on a performance of Wicked! Many thanks to @moonlightleafs @irpas-fe-corner @emotiandon @incompletenova @dovehearts-blog @geummi @ophie @spaghetti-trash @maynope00 @maimais for letting me borrow your children for the pit orchestra ^^ It was a nightmare trying to arrange it so that everyone is visible in the canvas.... and I learnt that with such an angle, realistically, those closest to the camera lens would be absolutely squished and weird looking oTL NEVER AGAIN SHALL I DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS, BUT IT WAS A GREAT LESSONS I GUESS?? I also don't want to draw keyboards again I MAY BE A KEYBOARDIST BUT THEY ARE SO FULL OF THINGS I DO NOT WANTTTT For the end credits, I did a quick (really quick sobs) instrumental arrangement of For Good on the vibraphone. Can you spot the one melody line I snuck in from the Fire Emblem Main Theme? XDDDD Many thanks to the wonderful recording on youtube of One Short Day by the Australian cast, which I used as a reference (especially for Yuri's pirouette animation....!). The costumes were adapted (and simplified sobs) from Susan Hiferlty's original designs. Special thanks to my sister for everything; without you, i'd never have been able to make this happen ;w;

Basically, the problem with Edelgard, as well as her fans like Raxistaicho, is that they don't believe "people who disagree with us are wrong".
They instead believe "everyone Secretly Already Agrees with Us, but some psychological dysfunction is preventing them from seeing things properly."
So, Edelgard believes that "everyone Secretly Knows my way of running Fodlan is better, but they're just too brainwashed by the Church to see things properly."
And her fans, like Raxis, believe that "everyone Secretly Knows that Edelgard is really a good person, they're just too misogynistic and/or brainwashed by patriarchy to see things properly. Nobody could ever really criticize a woman's behavior, or side with a man like Dimitri instead, without being a secret misogynist (and therefore psychologically defective, so we don't have to actually engage with their arguments)."
So, the reason Edelgard appeals to so many people is that both she and her fans have no "theory of mind", no capacity to "imagine thought processes, emotional states, life experiences, or even entire moral value systems that are Significantly Different From Themselves."
You know I don’t think that’s completely inaccurate, anon, considering they’re 100% convinced that Nilsh is some kind of evil cult leader who brainwashed me and others here into hating Edelgard. Even though. You know. Most of our blogs existed first and Nilsh was just repeating a lot of things we’d been saying for months beforehand.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say they have no concept that we have our own thoughts and feelings. I think they know and it’s a combination of upset (“but I’m right!!! How can they not see how right I am!!!”) and cognitive dissonance (“But wait if a queer woman doesn’t like Edelgard then was I wrong??? No, certainly she must be lying or brainwashed or confused!”)
And like. When you’ve made your entire fandom presence about being this socially-conscious person who calls out the bigotry in people hating your fave and sticking it to the haterz, then you have a lot of investment in proving that you’ve been justified in your past harassment. Cuz if you harassed people for being bigots and you were wrong about them being bigots, well, now you just look like a jackass. Doubly so if they’re actually part of the group you claimed they were being bigoted against in the first place.

Falling for the red herring
I’ve mentioned this a time or two on this blog, but a pretty interesting piece of Rhea discourse from the anti-Edelgard community is this notion that the localization ruined Rhea’s image by having Cherami Leigh portray her in an overly stoic manner, preventing her from being seen as cute as she evidently can be in the original Japanese dub. I’m not going to argue on that point: I don’t play with Japanese vocals on and I’ve learned long ago never to take Edelgard’s detractors at their word without fact checking them.
It is ironic, however, that these same types tend to scorn Edelgard for being “gap moe” for the sake of selling Heroes alts and paraphernalia featuring her. But then again, if Edelgard’s detractors didn’t have double standards they wouldn’t have any standards at all.
What I am here to discuss today is this recurring trend from some Rhea fans to try and portray her as more motherly than she actually behaves in either Three Houses or Three Hopes. A particularly good example is the fixation of Cyril as being something of a surrogate son for her. Let’s be frank: nothing in Houses or Hopes supports this notion. She took Cyril in and rescued him from slavery, but that makes him just one of many urchins that she’s provided shelter for. Aside from that she pays him no particular notice over anyone else. A far cry from the fandom notion that she looks after him constantly. Another good example is crediting her for all of the stray cats and dogs in the monastery - I’ve seen her described as a secret lover of animals who plays with them when nobody’s looking.
Now this interpretation of her isn’t entirely without merit: Three Hopes mentions in a rather off-hand way in one of the Azure Gleam supports (I want to say one of Catherine’s but I can’t recall and the supports don’t appear to have ever been posted online in a script format) that Rhea often plays with orphans, and though nothing proves this otherwise, it’s still a pretty impressive case of telling and not showing because we never see anything to support it aside from one character’s say-so.
So why do these particular fans do this? It’s quite simple: it’s because that’s how Rhea’s initially portrayed. When we first meet her, she’s serene, she’s kind, she’s accepting, and she’s certainly got a... motherly figure, as fanart so loves to remind us :p
However, this is a red herring.
As White Clouds continues, the cracks begin to show in her facade. She’s defensive, secretive, prone to deception without need, quick to judge, and swift in anger. At the very end of Silver Snow’s story, we learn the truth about her: far apart from being a kind motherly figure to those under her wing, Rhea lost her own mother to tragedy at what can be presumed to be a young age, and the slaughter of her kin left her trapped in that time of her life ever since. Rhea is, in many ways, a youth in an adult’s body who just wants her own mother back so that her many self-imposed burdens and responsibilities can be lifted from her shoulders. It’s why she struggles to socialize with others, why she shows affection through showering praise and the occasional gift upon the people she likes, and why she struggles accepting the good advice of others. She understands to some extent that she hasn’t led Fodlan in the direction it needs to go and yet she refuses to face her own failures and fix them herself.
This desire to portray Rhea as cuter and more motherly is simply the earnest desire of some of her fans to have her live up to the mask she first presents, and which is ultimately ripped from her face. It’s unfortunate then that that’s not the Rhea that actually exists.
Contrast this with Edelgard (because I was always going to go there :p) and you see her acting like a mother hen to her fellow students. She treats Lysithea like a little sister she needs to look after, she empathizes with Bernie, she expresses concern over Caspar’s future and opportunities, she scolds and sets straight Ferdinand, she urges Byleth to ponder on their own the mysteries surrounding them and the hidden nature of Fodlan rather than telling them what to think, and she keeps on Linhardt to do his work and focus on his future (Linhardt even calls her out on acting like an overbearing mother!) It simply appears to be in Edelgard’s nature to stubbornly care for others. She’s not too unlike Velvet Crowe (who is also compared to being an occasionally overbearing mother by those around her) in this way. This part of her never goes away - it only becomes stronger as time goes on.
It’s ironic then, that Edelgard’s detractors so often speak of her like she’s an ignorant child that needs to leave the room and let the adults - always Rhea, Dimitri, and Claude - do the real work of fixing Fodlan.
Projection is ever the signature style of people who dislike her, I’ve found.

Hello there ^^
Are your requests still open ? If yes I’d like to request a character x reader scenario or headcanons (which ever is better for you) for Dimitri and Claude (separately pls) with a female or gender neutral reader (not Byleth) who is asexual ?(When someone identifies as asexual that means that they don’t feel any sexual attraction towards any gender)
Scenario for orientation/inspiration : They just confessed to each other, but the reader wants them to know that they’re asexual before they get official, since it can be a potential dealbreaker. So the reader tells them that they don’t plan on ever having s”x with them, will also not do any compromises (not even for children/heirs) and tells them that they should search for another partner if they’re not happy/accept it, since the reader will not step over their boundaries for a partner or their partners pleasure.
If you don’t want to write both, then please just for Claude. I hope you are well and have a great day/night ^^
Happy Thursday, my lovely! I finally got some free time to put my writing into an online sheet, so you can imagine this work has been crafted over the course of several weeks. I'm going to attempt to post much more often (as I have wanted to for so long now), but life happens and I tend to be busy.
In any case, I hope you enjoy this work despite my tardiness. Have a wonderful weekend.
To everyone, please feel free to fill my inbox! My rules are pinned to the top of my blog, so request as much as you'd like after reading those!
The story will be continued under the cut.
“What are you doing out here so late?”
You whipped your head around in shock, getting a good look at the man that had snuck up on you.
“Goodness, Dimitri,” you sighed, placing a hand over your chest in an attempt to quell your racing heartbeat, “a little more warning next time? You almost scared me right off the bridge!”
The moon shone high in the sky, illuminating the bridge to Garreg Mach’s cathedral in a faint, white glow. You found yourself stopped at the center of it, taking in the way the trees created long shadows in the night.
But now your eyes were trained on the new King of Fodlan. His appearance here, in the middle of the night, ran almost too coincidental with where your thoughts had been headed.
“Ah, my apologies,” he returned with a chuckle, “You never did answer my question, though.”
At this, you ducked your head, “I…just…”
How were you meant to communicate the reason without scaring him off? You were hopeful, yet fear engulfed you. That was why you were here tonight. You wanted to sort out your feelings…about him.
“Was that…too intrusive? I do not mean to bother you.”
You wished you could find the courage to speak, or even just to look at him.
“Perhaps I ought to leave you here, for tonight. Know that I am here to talk if you wish.”
Hearing him shift to move finally prompted you to return his gaze, “No, that’s not what I want. It’s just…hard for me to find the words. The easiest way to put it would be to say that my thoughts were keeping me from sleep. I figured a walk might help me work through some things, but I’ve had no such luck, so far.”
“I see,” he nodded once, stepping forward to your side, staring out at the view that had held your attention for so long tonight. “I could say I came out here for a similar reason, myself.”
You kept your eyes on him, “If you wouldn’t mind sharing, may I ask what it is that has kept you up so late?”
He turned to you slowly, his face turning darker, “I suppose you will find out, eventually. I might as well tell you now.”
“Oh, well, if I’m going to find out anyway, there’s no reason for you to say it.”
Perhaps it was some plan or strategy for the Kingdom to rebuild, you reasoned.
“You can deliver the news to me alongside everyone else.”
Dimitri gave a light chuckle, “No, I’m afraid that wouldn’t be proper.”
Propriety? You wondered. There must be another matter on his mind, then.
Lightly, the blond reached out for your left hand, placing it in his own and bringing it to his lips. The action made your eyes widen and your heart skip a beat.
“Dimitri…”
“I believe I have fallen in love with you.”
Involuntarily, you took a step back.
You weren’t ready for this conversation, yet. That was part of the real reason you came out here. Yes, you were in love with Dimitri, but things weren’t that simple. You loved yourself, too, and you would never betray yourself. Not even for the love of another.
In truth, it was your love for him that made you hesitate. You weren’t interested in…copulation…but for stability reasons, Fodlan’s throne would need an heir. Seeing how the Kingdom had taken over Fodlan, it would be safest to keep the rule within the current royal bloodline. Namely, Dimitri’s.
That wasn’t even considering his crest. The crest of Blaiddyd had been a symbol of great power for generations. How selfish would it be for you to cause its end all because you weren’t interested in sex?
So, though you loved Dimitri, you weren’t planning on ever making your feelings known to him. The world would be better off with the two of you apart.
And yet you had found yourself coming here for a walk, anyway. You had questioned whether or not to ruin everything if only to save your bleeding heart.
And somehow, you wound up in this position; Dimitri coming to you with his heart in his hands while all you could do was step back.
Selfish and selfless. A fool all the same.
“...I see…” the royal waivered, lowering your hand, “Forgive me, I believe I have read all this terribly wrong.”
Say something, you idiot! Don’t let it end like this!
“I can’t.”
He stopped himself just before releasing your hand.
“...what?”
“I want to say it back. Truly, I do,” you began to explain softly, “but, thinking of the future, I know that I could never.”
“Why not?” he questioned, stepping in towards you, “Is there something wrong with me? Are you unable to forgive the sins of my past?”
He looked down to the side, “If that is the case, I do not blame you.”
“No, that isn’t what I meant at all!”
“You are a noble, so that cannot be what you are worried about. You are kind, beautiful, compassionate, patient…no doubt the people would love you.”
“Please, stop,” you begged under your breath, shutting your eyes.
Dimitri lifted your hand once more, grasping it in both of his own, this time, “You would make a wonderful mother. I have always dreamt of having a large fami-”
“That!” you almost sobbed, pulling your hand out of his. Even just hearing him say such things made your head spin and your stomach swirl, “That is the reason I cannot…we cannot…”
“You…do not wish to have a family?”
Why is this so hard? I wish it didn’t have to be this hard.
“I don’t want to…to have sex.”
“But…”
“Please, don’t try to change my mind,” your eyes met his, “If I thought I could manage it, even just for an heir, I would have done so in a heartbeat for you. But I have thought about it, and I have tried to change my mind.”
Your arms wrapped around yourself. Tears threatened to spill from your eyes, and your throat was beginning to tighten, “I love you, Dimitri. I love you so much that it hurts, but I just…I can’t do that. I could never betray myself.”
For a moment, there was nothing. You closed your eyes, and a droplet made its way from the corner of your eye down your cheek.
Suddenly, your tears were being wiped away. Dimitri had taken off his gloves and was cupping your face with his hands. His thumb swiped under your eyes, and the prince let his forehead rest against yours.
“That is all I would ask of you. Just knowing that you return my feelings is enough,” his eyes never left yours, “I love you. Not for what you can or cannot do, but because of who you are. We can work together to find the solution for that issue, but know that you are worth so much more than your desire to have children.”
He made you feel so foolish for even worrying. Of course you could work it out together. So long as you had one another, the rest could fall into place.
Separating his forehead from yours, Dimitri wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into his chest. Though his armor was cold and unforgiving, his hands were warm. Kind, just as you had known them to be.
No matter what would happen next, you would always have Dimitri. He was all you needed to trust that everything would turn out for the best.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So, this is where you ran off to?”
“Woah! Who-?” your heart practically leapt into your throat as you spun around, quickly backing into the railing.
Claude laughed, though his gaze darted between you and the railing for a moment.
“Hey, take it easy! I just didn’t think you were the type to come to the Goddess Tower when you’re worried, is all. Don’t, uh…don’t throw yourself over the railing about it.”
Your eyes widened further than they had already once you realized how dangerous that could have been.
“Oh my-!” swiftly, you put distance between yourself and the rail. “N-No! That wasn’t my intention at all!”
A bit of tension left the royal’s body, at that. The release was visible.
“Good.”
A sigh turned into a breathy laugh from Claude, “Seriously, don’t scare me like that. I don’t know what I would have done if that encounter went differently.”
Like this, you could see just how shaken your leader actually was. It seemed to have quite the impact on you, too.
“Well…don’t follow people into towers only to scare them at the top! You scared me!”
“Okay, okay! It’s my fault, I’m sorry. Can we just…move past this now?”
You nodded, and a beat of silence passed between the two of you.
“...how did you know I was worried?”
“Intuition,” the wyvern rider smirked. “Come on, you don’t really think I see you as the type to ditch an informal celebration, right? One in your honor, no less?”
“It’s for all the Golden Deer, not just me.”
“I’m not hearing any argument on that first part.”
You paused, clenching your teeth behind your closed lips the slightest amount and looking to the side.
“Yeah, not really helping your case, there. You know you can trust me with anything, don’t you?”
He looked so lucid, and yet…timid? Sheepish?
…Afraid…?
Well, so were you.
“It’s…my mother. I just needed to get away from everyone; I didn’t want to ruin the celebration by forcing everyone to put up with me when…my heart really isn’t in it.”
“Oh,” that strange emotion from before left his eyes. Almost like he was…disappointed? “Is she sick?”
“That’s not it,” you turned away from him a little, shifting in the same direction as your gaze. “She sent me a letter. Now that the war is over, she’s going to force me to get married.”
Claude’s expression grew pensive, “...To force you…Do you not want to get married at all?”
You looked at him, then, “No…yes?” you took a breath, trying to start over, “It’s, um…I…”
“Take your time. You don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to.”
He says that, but he seems to be more interested in this topic than the last…
Glancing aside again, you took a breath and released it.
“I’m afraid. I’m completely fine with marriage, but I can’t…” another deep breath as you lowered your voice, “I refuse to have children. Even the thought of sex makes me sick. Of course, there’s the matter of promising to spend my life with a stranger or someone I don’t love…though I wouldn’t hesitate to do that if it meant…”
Your eyes found Claude’s, only to see his expression frozen in what you believed was shock.
“Ah,” you recoiled slightly, “I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have unloaded all that on you!” You blushed more than you knew capable, ducking your head out of his sight and covering your face with your hands, for good measure, “Just…forget I even said anything!”
“No, you’re completely fine! I’m just surprised this is the first time I’ve heard about any of this!” he reassured you, “I was just thinking,”
Well, that could have gone worse, at least.
“Let me get this straight,” you calmed yourself down enough to look at your house leader, noticing that expression from before returning to his face. “You would rather marry a complete stranger than someone you loved, just so long as you knew you wouldn’t have to have sex with them?”
You nodded, afraid he was judging you.
Instead, Claude let out a breath of air through his nose, “In that case, I think I have a solution to both of those problems.”
He crossed the short distance between you, taking both your hands in his own and lifting them before you could process what was happening.
“Marry me.”
“-! Claude…” you breathed.
“I love you. I love you enough to respect your boundaries because what matters to me is that I get to spend my life at your side. The thought of you marrying some stranger just to be true to yourself…Even if you don’t love me-”
“I do!” you cried, beginning to tear up. “I do love you, Claude, this is just…I didn’t want to force any of this onto you. A lot of people see this sort of thing as a deal-breaker, and I…I couldn’t do that to you-!”
Claude let go of your hands, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into him. He felt you shake as you took a breath, tears now flowing freely from your eyes.
“You don’t have to be afraid anymore. I love you, just like this.”
Your tears came even faster as you outright sobbed into his chest. Not even your own mother had said such words to you. At home, you were more of a nuisance than a noble; a pawn that was reluctant to be played.
Pulling away slightly, you wiped your eyes and looked into Claude’s green ones.
“I…I have to be sure. You’re really okay with spending your entire life with me without…a-and you won’t with anyone else, either? Is that really what you choose?”
The Almyran King chuckled, “Well, I can’t say it’s a path I anticipated for myself, but I can’t say I anticipated you having this preference, either.” He smiled at you, “It just goes to show I have so much more to look forward to learning about you, and I can’t imagine letting anyone else get ahead of me, there,” Claude winked.
You didn’t move, waiting.
“Just like I said, though, a large part of my happiness comes from being near you. There’s no way I’m giving any part of it up just so I can bed someone each night. You’re the one I fell in love with, not your body or what you could have offered in the bedroom.”
Finally, you sighed and felt something in your chest relax.
“Don’t get me wrong, though! I still expect you to have a pillow and a blanket waiting in there! This isn’t gonna work if I wake up with my back stiff each morning.”
Giggling, you stepped back into him, the two of you holding one another with silly grins on your faces.
The future looked brighter with someone who loved you at your side.
♡ ・ LETTERS TO THOSE WE MOTHER ━━━ an introspective, drabble series dedicated to zephia & eremiya
Tumblr media
. a few days after apping zephia, i reread the script of NMotE and fell in love with eremiya's character. the potential, the archetype, and most of all, the backstory she was given. though i disliked how it was thrown messily into the script, i had no doubt that she could be a character i'd enjoy writing. which, then, led me to wonder how similar and different she and zephia were. and i must admit that i grew obsessed with the idea of them interacting with one another ( though, at first, the thought definitely stemmed from a flickering, romantic piece i wrote for them. pardon my insanity it was a voice test for eremiya,, ).
thus, i created this! letters to those we mother, is a drabble series where i hope to do an in-depth exploration of their characters, both in who they are, what they are, and the potential was created for them. though this is self-indulgent, i hope to entertain whoever reads along, whether in succession or standalone.
thank you, TOA, for letting me have the opportunity to explore writing styles within this setting, as these two would never tolerate one another otherwise.
further information ( synopsis, table of contents, disclaimers, schedule, set-up; all to be updated with each drabble posted to the dashboard ) beneath the readmore!
Tumblr media
. SYNOPSIS. what happens when fodlan shatters the mirror separating an archetype? what should unfold when these two sides, cut from the same lengths of glass, find their hands touching, skin-upon-skin, without the safety of a reflection?
zephia dahut kurosawa, a mage dragon faithful at the feet of her lord, and eremiya n. ahava, a bishop condemned to obey the voice of her lord, have crossed into each other's territory and, thus, will embark on the reluctant path that mothers must retrace once their children have grown into young adults. a lifestyle they would have walked, separately, lest their corruptions never been birthed.
neither of these beasts have savored the taste of motherhood the way fate planned them to. so, what now? will their faith create permanent cracks in the mirror? will a dragon's realism and a bishop's pessimism meld together into the flawed glimpse of another; optimism?
this, only time would reveal.
. TABLE OF CONTENTS. as of planned, currently.
i. origins.
ii. cradles & fires.
iii. tbd.
iv. tbd.
v. tbd.
vi. tbd.
. DISCLAIMERS. neither zephia or eremiya are characters that will be redeemed in this series. instead, i hope to explain their conditions and explore the consequences to which they must be condemned. with this in mind, understand that these two muses are bad people and will not change automatically in the first drabble. the journey of self-introspection is a long one.
. SCHEDULE. estimated to be 6:00 pm on the 23rd day of every two months. ( ex. if the first drabble is posted on february 23rd, at 6:00 pm, then the next drabble would be posted on april 23rd, at 6:00 pm, and so on ) a brief prologue that contains a recap, teaser, and important information such as content warnings and writer notes will be posted at 9:00 pm on the 18th day of every two months.
. SET-UP. likewise, the order of drabble posting will switch between muses. this is with the hope that zephia and eremiya will have equal related posts to archive properly. the first drabble, origins, will be posted on zephia's blog, while the second, cradles & fires, will be posted on eremiya's blog. in that order ( zephia, eremiya, zephia, eremiya, etc ) the drabble series will be completed. none of these drabbles will be reblogged by either blog, simply linked. however, this post will be shared between blogs, just for easier access.
Tumblr media
. final words from the mun. again, whether you read one or two or all drabbles in this series, i hope you enjoy it! if i missed any content warnings and need to tag any themes or spoilers, let me know and i'll correct the mistake. otherwise, that's all from me. see you on the 18th / 23rd, concerning the series, and may the day treat you kindly, reader! ( and ps. yes, i did choose the 23rd because the number is my birthday number MKSEWKMSDJN )
And this,
This is why real life history or real life events shouldn't be used in fandom wars because you end up with posts that are not only borderline, but downright insulting to real life people, and real life memories of events that should not be used as "gotcha" point to prop pixels!
I know the Fodlan games have a tendency to blame the victims of aggression for "starting the war" by, uh, not offering their heads and lands on a platter when an invader asks for it, but it's a game made by people who wanted to make money and sell waifu merch in a gacha!
This? This thing????
I do not want to make any calls or assumptions about how education is organised in different countries because I don't have enough clues to make a well thought post, and it has never been that blog's purpose, but what the actual fuck?
Is Poster 1 thinking about an uchronia or a real world AU where, the real world nation that lost nearly 20% of its population, had around 90% of its jewish population exterminated, especially by an ordinate system of extermination in camps, that can still be visited today as a testimony of the worst humanity can offer -
Is Poster 1 saying "imagine an AU" where where Poland started the very real WW2??? To make a point about a video game and a bunch of pixels?
Who are the Holocaust deniers, Poster 2, the so-called Mooners or the dude(tte?) who goes "Real life AU : Imagine if Poland who saw 90% of its jewish population being exerminated started the WW2 lol"?
Seeing @sevarix-blogs' amazing work doing all the number stuff for Fodlan made me want to do it too, if only so I wouldn't be a massive bother constantly asking for loads of different sizes of/distances between places now I know it can be worked out
And this is what I ended up with, using (I think?) a completely different method
Cut because long and rambly and pictures and maths
So yesterday I asked my (maths teacher) brother for help, and he said if I can fit Fodlan into a X by 2X rectangle, then that makes working things out easier
(The colour coded map is from here btw, and if I understood how reddit worked or how to find their username I would say so but I'm dumb and I don't so I can't I'm so sorry TT__TT)
Tumblr media
The blurb from the picture for ease of reading is:
Total area of Fodlan = 6,786,666 sq km / 2,620,346 sq miles So X by X is half = 3,393,333 sq km / 1,310,173 sq miles Square root of = X = 1842 km / 1144 miles Half (Green/Yellow) = 921 km / 572 miles Quarter (Black/White) = 460.5 km / 286 miles Eighth (Pink/Red) = 230.25 km / 143 miles 16th (Blue/Orange) = 115.125 km / 71.5 miles 32nd (Purple/Green) = 57.46 km / 35.75 miles
The colours refer to the rectangles and boxes on the Fodlan map to the right, which I freely admit were eyeballed and freehanded using the CSP rectangle tool, so are a smidge out here and there
And the bit about Sreng:
Half of Sreng is the Kingdom's. But I'm not entirely sure if that means some of what is now Gautier used to be Sreng, or the bottom half of what is shown here as Sreng should be included in this box? If including Sreng in the outline box, then this scaling works (more or less) If not, then the scaling is a little off because the outline box should be smaller/the countries should be bigger Because the box will always be 1842 km / 1144 miles tall, only change is how much map fits inside it
I lean towards half of Sreng should be included, and it would fit quite nicely into the white gaps of the cut up map on the left, because 1) we get sent on missions to Sreng and the marker is firmly in the Sreng region right of the mountain range and 2) it's referred to as a peninsula, which I don't think it would be if some of it used to be in what is now Gautier? But this is very much a "your milage may vary" thing, so as I said, if you don't want to include Sreng, then the boxes should be slightly bigger/contain slightly more landmass (but I don't know how much without making another guesstimate rectangle and cutting up Fodlan again, and I don't want to do it a third time)
And speaking of boxes:
Tumblr media
Here's the Three Hopes map of Fodlan with all the territories highlighted in different colours overlaid with a square grid, with each square being 57.5625 km or 35.75 miles long/wide
I would have done the Three Houses map as well, but as I said when I tried to match them up yesterday, the maps don't bloody match!!!
(Which I am not at all still upset or annoyed about, no, why would you think that? ¬__¬ )
Anyway. The grid lines mean that you can zoom in and work out some sort of scale against measuring tool of choice to then work out smaller distances. Which is pretty neat.
Also, when I move the box layer around to line it up with things, I can see that: Deidriu is one box wide and two boxes tall, (so 57.5 km by 115 - 6626.88 km², or 35.75 miles by 71.5 - 2556.125 miles²) Fhirdiad is maybe 8 boxes total? (it is such a weird shape I hate it) (26507.53 km², or 10224.5 miles²) Enbarr is give or take one box tall and three wide (172.68 km by 57.56 - 9940.32km², or 107.25 miles by 35.75 - 3834.18miles²)
I think?? Maths isn't my strong suit and I don't want to bother my brother too much since I accidentally woke him up at 3am when I finished and sent him this to see if my initial maths work out blurb was right ^^;;;
And vaguely related, but it looks like @nerdnag was right about there being a perspective difference when I was pulling my hair out yesterday over the Houses/Hopes map, because when you look at the world map compared to the local/chapter map:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then overlay them:
Tumblr media
Yeah
So my plan on fitting my game screenshots onto the grid so I can calculate from the close ups is scrapped, but eh.
Also disclaimer that this doesn't account for terrain. At all. I would have no idea where to start with that so I won't
Also disclaimer that while the maths is solid, my photo editing skills aren't, so there's a lotta leeway there. Like. Oodles. So this might not be accurate at all
Finally past the Eagle Lion Battle, so we're going into the escalation slope toward White Clouds endgame.
Oof, it took me a long while to keep playing... What can I say, I do not care much about the Eagles or Edelgard. Though I will admit, her B support did make me more interested. It was very juicy.
Moving my liveblogging notes here, since otherwise Tumblr was giving me limit errors.
Edelgard B happens after the Lion-Eagle Battle, after she talks about wanting your guidance even after becoming Emperor, and how she's experienced fighting alongside others thanks to you.
Lots of interesting details here. Edelgard was born with a minor crest of Seiros, but "most" of her siblings didn't have any crest at all. They were imprisoned underground, beneath the palace, so now Edelgard sometimes longs for the feeling of the sun and the wind.
She states that the goal of the experiments was to create a "peerless emperor to rule Fodlan" which... is not likely to be what the Agarthans actually wanted and sure isn't what the prime minister and his gang would have have wanted, but it does provide some insight into Edelgard's belief she is destined to be Emperor, to reshape Fodlan, and just in general that she knows exactly what is the correct way forward, regardless of the cost.
The experiments involved "cutting open their very flesh." There were other subjects involved as well, who were "innocents" different from the siblings. Presumably, they didn't have crests at all? Or were they just not nobles? Or...?
Edelgard blames the prime minister and his "gaggle of nobles." They had the empire under their thumb and her father (heroically) tried to stop them but was ultimately powerless. This is not entirely accurate, since the start of the Insurrection was Hrym trying to LEAVE the empire, which is quite different from the implied noble cabal controlling the empire ruinously. Additionally, since Lysithea was experimented on due to Ordelia trying to help Hrym, which wouldn't align with this nobles vs emperor setup... yup, this stuff doesn't add up if you know the lore already, but it does present a certain image if you're going in blind.
Edelgard also has a second crest, a crest of flames. She again shows it via a glowing sigil in her hand, which makes me wonder what the crest analyzer is for.
Edelgard somewhat makes it sound like she has some survivor's guilt about her family and others having their lives traded for her existence (as the peerless emperor) and that she wants to make their deaths have meaning by fulfilling this purpose and then changing the world so this kind of atrocity will never happen again... but this will not align with her later actions. What she does is attack the church, which is notably absent in this entire discussion.
Note also how she continues to use artificial beasts the entire war through, which are created through human experimentation. All of them are people sacrificed in the same way her siblings were, but Edelgard keeps using them anyway.
Next section is Remire, where I'm curious to see what Flame Emperor says specifically. Like, did Edelgard not know they were going to be making artificial beasts out of people? What did she think the Agarthans were going to be doing with Flayn's blood when she "loaned" Jeritza to them? What kind of support was she expecting from them, given that they are absolutely key to giving her the power to conquer the continent?
Other live blogging notes:
Rhea directly says that the Crestless can still use Relics as weapons, so this point is not a secret.
A lot of Knights are away still dealing with the Western Church, which is why we have to go help with Miklan.
Edelgard plays up that Byleth can now take on the most elite forces of the Empire and the Church, including other Relics.
Edelgard C: We randomly hear her having a nightmare. Why are we walking around the second floor where the student rooms are in the middle of the night? AND if the walls and doors are so thin, that's... gonna be real funny, given how many people have nightmares around here. I wonder if Hilda, who is on one side of Edelgard, polite keeps her mouth shut about the moaning and shouting?
Edelgard being fully dressed here is funny.
tbh I will give them this: I do not recall what Claude's C was about. This is probably more memorable.
Edelgard says she had 10 siblings, eight older and two younger. They all became crippled by disease or lost their minds and died. Now they're all dead.
Edelgard says the nightmares are a reminder to never allow such things to happen again. But note that she specifically continues to use monsters made out of humans all through the war. "Never allow sure terrible things to happen again" but only after you've made all the sacrifices you need to change the world.
Edelgard feels the future of the empire, of "everything," depends on her.
As noted, this is gated to getting the Sword of the Creator despite not having any mention of it (or Arundel/Thales) in the support itself. So Edelgard will only open up to you after you demonstrate your potential as a world-changing powerhouse.
Hubert C: He thinks Byleth would be intimidated? By him?? lol
During Month 8 exploration, one of the knights mentioned that after being dispatched to the Western Church, they're now being dispatched to the Eastern Church in Leicester. But why? He doesn't say. I'm trying to remember, is this the month when Judith shows up to drag Claude off for a bit?
Caspar: "You know what your problem is, Edelgard? You always have to make everything about you." L M A O
Ashe was adopted by Lonato when he was 9 years old. He's 16 now. So this was seven years ago. But from what I recall, this would put it before Tragedy of Duscur, and before Christophe was executed. Hum, I hadn't realized that...
iirc, there was less emphasis on "Crests shouldn't dictate anyone's destiny, forsaken by the Goddess who now demands his execution" on VW.
Miklan has two sets of reinforcements come in, which I guess should indicate that he's smarter than he looks.
I need to psyche myself up to say no to Rhea. I don't even want the stupid lance, but I wanna see the dialogue.
Huh. The dialogue wasn't very interesting, since I have Sylvain. He just steps in immediately.
"Crests are to blame for this brutal, irrational world we live in." Hm. In what sense? It sucked for Miklan, but the only other things we've seen are related to Lonato (no Crests) and the Western Church (Relics, maybe, but no Crests).
"Their power is only granted to a select few, whom we elevate and allow to rule the world." Big hm. Brigit and Dagda attacked the Empire and they have no crests. How do we interpret that?
If we remove Crests, people will "have no choice but to rise and fall by their own merits," but hum, this seems a very isolated issue. I don't think Crest-related shenanigans even came up during VW at all. We're blaming the Church on both sides, but for very different things.
Edelgard says her power alone is insufficient, that's why she's borrowing power from the Agarthans. But if she can get Byleth instead... She wants to reach out her hand :( Still, it's very hard to take her seriously, given that there isn't really a solid foundation underneath all this vague talk.
Hubert directly says he doesn't care so much about obeying Edelgard and will just directly take care of things himself lol. Tsk, tsk, a bad retainer.
Dimitri says he searched the entire monastery already on the first week of explore. He's so diligent...
Battle with the Death Knight after Flayn's kidnapping is where the Flame Emperor first appears to the team and introduces herself. Byleth smiles for the first time after rescuing Flayn.
Jeralt mentions that strange groups have been seen around the monastery and elsewhere since the Rite of Rebirth and that knights investigating them turned up dead. These could have been Agarthans, but I don't get the impression that they travel in groups, and it seems unlikely to be Western Church remnants, since those are talked about more directly. So by elimination, it should be Edelgard's forces?
Jeralt is dispatched to the Kingdom during month 10
There's no direct path between the Empire and the monastery. The only way there is via the Alliance, over the Airmid River, and only then into the Empire. Which makes it even more puzzling what Edelgard spends two weeks doing during the invasion. Does Gloucester let her through...? Believable, given what he's like.
Sylvain's paralogue: His father ordered him to come put down the remains of Miklan's band of thieves, who have been causing trouble in Gautier territory. He was specifically told to go alone with no backup. It's interesting because it's always a bit hard to tell what the in-universe power levels are supposed to be like, separate from the game mechanics where you can do the entire game on solo.
His "hopefully things in Faerghus will get better once we get Dimitri on the throne" reads a bit weird when he's changed houses and isn't even with Dimitri anymore.
Ingrid's paralogue... feels really weird because I have literally never seen Dorothea and Ingrid interact. If they were going to lean into the yuri vibes this much, they should have gated it behind a support rank.
Gronder Field is in Caspar's family territory, and they grow a lot of grain there.
Lorenz charges off to take the central fort, with the archery installation, and the rest of the Golden Deer move to support him. Blue Lions stay put until you approach.
Edelgard jokes about the Empire and the Kingdom going to war, but Dimitri is troubled by the idea. Her overall casual tone about all this is... interesting, given that she's in the middle of arranging the outbreak of war and already tried to have the other two house leaders killed.
After the feast, Edelgard starts buttering up to Byleth, about how she enjoys and desires their guidance.
She sees becoming Emperor as her destiny and is certain that she will fulfill it.
The villagers started acting strangely already in this month, immediately after Flayn's kidnapping.
Thinking of it, the next month being called "red wolf moon" with the description that the setting sun colors the coats of the prowling wolves a foreboding red... sure is evocative. I wish the month names and the calendar in general were better integrated.
Des idées comme ça sur les emblèmes et leurs effets
En règle générale, les emblèmes dans mes histoires sont plus reliés aux Braves et à leur magie étant donnés que j'ai plus d'idée autour d'eux et de leurs histoires que pour les nabatéens qui avaient ses emblèmes à la base. Pour le moment, ils n'apparaissent même jamais, sauf peut-être pour les transformations en bête démoniaque. Dans l'idée que j'en ai, Miklan entendrais la voix de Loquax lui hurle de lâcher la Lance de la Destruction, ainsi qu'une autre qui le prévient qu'il va être maudit et damné s'il continue à l'utiliser mais, il refuse d'obéir car, la voix de Loquax ressemble beaucoup à celle de Sylvain et il le prend pour son frère, et c'est tout pour le moment... même à la fin de CF, c'est surtout les âmes des sorciers qui ont transcendé la mort qui peuvent revenir, là où les nabatéens disparaissent pour reposer plus ou moins en paix vu qu'à ce moment-là, Rhéa, Seteth et Flayn ont pu s'échapper et se réfugier à Sreng pour mieux revenir en finir avec Delagarde plus tard.
Sinon, pas grand-chose sur eux, à part que l'emblème fait vraiment briller son porteur quand elle s'active, et que les emblèmes majeurs sont encore très mal compris et ont des effets insoupçonnés afin de mieux souligner leur puissance et la fascination des humains vis-à-vis des emblèmes... mais j'ai tout de même ces petites idées qui me trottent dans la tête sur les effets des emblèmes dans la réalité de Fodlan, même hors nécessité de gameplay, et notamment les emblèmes majeurs qui ont un effet supplémentaire pour mieux souligner la puissance des emblèmes, même si elle a toujours un effet secondaire afin de garder un certain équilibre des forces (et ne pas les rendre trop cheaté si on était en jeu). Là, elles auront plus un lien avec les nabatéens qui les avaient à l'origine.
On va donc y aller emblème par emblèmes pour ceux où j'ai des idées, sans ordre précis avec un rappel de l'effet normal en jeu, l'effet majeur, effet secondaire de ce dernier, et application.
-et petit avertissement : j'ai toujours dit "une emblème" plutôt que "un emblème" alors, même si je me soigne pour ça, il peut y avoir des petites inversions dans le billet-
Source : les billets sur les Arcanes Majeurs de @mwezina m'ont aidé pour l'emblème de Goneril / Dragon Kalpa, vous aurez le lien du billet précis dans sa partie. Allez lire son blog, il est extrêmement intéressant. Pour les images des emblèmes / coeurs de Nabatéens, elles sont tirés de l'artbook de "Fire Emblem Warrior 3 Hopes".
Emblème de Riegan : Star Dragon / Dragon des étoiles
Effet en jeu : Restaure parfois des PV égaux à 30 % des dégâts infligés lors de l'utilisation des arts de combat.
Pour l'emblème de Riegan, il a la capacité de soigner son porteur de temps en temps mais, pas seulement en combat. Il peut aussi sortir dans la vie quotidienne, même si le stress l'active plus facilement que dans des situations ordinaires. Par exemple pour Claude, il a pu s'activer quand il était malade pour le guérir ou après une chute de wyverne mais, il a également pu lui sauver la vie quand ses frères et soeurs ont tenté de le tuer, c'est d'ailleurs comme ça que j'imagine qu'il a découvert qu'il en avait un.
Quand il est majeur, il agit en continue pendant le combat, ce qui fait que le porteur se soigne tout le temps plutôt qu'à des moments aléatoire : il est blessé, il va se soigner quelques instants plus tard, et ne sent pas non plus la fatigue. Il rend également plus résistants aux différents maux comme le mal de mers ou de l'air et permet de rester en bonne santé en général. Portez l'Infaillible aide à ce qu'elle reste toujours active car par contre, en contrepartie, la fatigue due à un combat ne disparait jamais, mais retombe d'un coup sur le porteur de l'emblème quand il disparait, ce qui le rend très vulnérable à la fin des combats ou si par malheur, il dépasse ses limites et que son emblème n'arrive plus à suivre.
Emblème de Fraldarius : Dragon du Bouclier
Effet en jeu : augmente parfois les dégâts d'une arme en jeu
Alors, même si j'ai beaucoup écrit sur Rodrigue et Félix, j'ai plus tendance à les lier à leur ancêtre et à Aegis qui les protège, l'âme de Pertinax à l'intérieur faisant tout pour protéger sa famille autant qu'il peut, avec l'effet même de l'emblème qui est relégué au second plan. Cependant, le nabatéen qui possédait leur emblème était le dragon du Bouclier à la base, et les Fraldarius sont à leur meilleur quand ils ont des positions de protecteur, que ce soit Rodrigue qui est le Bouclier de Faerghus, ou Félix qui a une bonne fin que quand il accepte de reprendre le titre de son père, laisse sa colère derrière lui et protège ceux qu'il aime, là où il se perd quand il n'a plus personne à protéger, que ce soit ses amis ou sa famille malgré tout ce qu'il dit.
Alors, pour eux, je dirais que si quand l'emblème est mineur, il donne un peu plus de force en rendant le corps plus dur, quand il est majeur, il rend son porteur bien plus résistant aux coups et le protège des blessures ordinaires, même si l'impact des coups restent en atténuer.
En combat, si Félix encaissait un coup d'épée, il sentirait un peu la douleur du coup en lui-même mais, le tranchant de la lame ne serait pas capable d'ouvrir une blessure. Idem pour la magie : la douleur de l'impact reste mais, il n'y aurait pas de brûlure par exemple.
Cependant, si le porteur encaisse trop de coups, le bouclier de son emblème finit par céder, ce qui le sonne à cause de la douleur qu'il a ressenti qui devient bien plus importante et le rend bien plus vulnérable, un peu comme les boucliers des bêtes démoniaques en jeu. C'est également le cas à la fin des combats quand l'emblème se désactive tout seul, quand le danger s'éloigne.
Pour continuer sur l'exemple de Félix, si le combat se poursuit et qu'il encaisse d'autres coups, son emblème finira par céder, ce qui se verra car il ne brillera plus. Il sentira alors toute la douleur réelle du combat, ce qui le désorientera et sera bien plus fragile au moindre coup. Une simple coupure deviendra une grande entaille, et une brûlure s'aggravera. Il est également très vulnérable quand le combat s'éloigne et que son emblème n'est plus active car, la douleur du combat lui tombe d'un coup dessus, ce qui a pour effet de le sonner et de le désorienter, voir lui faire perdre connaissance quand son emblème était sur le point de céder (dans ma tête, avec cette configuration, il faudrait même qu'on l'aide à évacuer le champ de bataille, ce qui aurait tendance à l'énerver, sauf si c'est Sylvain qui l'aide étant donné qu'ils sont toujours ensemble dans mes histoires, ou son père, même quand il le rejette car, c'est la personne en qui il a le plus confiance)
Emblème de Charon : Dragon des éclairs
Effet en jeu : Augmente parfois la puissance lors de l'utilisation des arts de combat.
Bon, là, c'est compliqué car c'est la seule famille qui a un emblème de manière naturelle alors, tous les Charon (et les Ordélia de manière plus réduite et moins mise en avant de mon côté) sont plus ou moins des nabatéens. La mère de Catherine, Myrina, est bien partie pour plus ressembler à une nabatéenne. Je me demande même si les Charon pourraient avoir une durée de vie plus longue ainsi que des capacités augmentés en plus de la détection des emblèmes grâce à des sens renforcés. Mais ici, on va se concentrer sur l'effet même de leur emblème.
Etant donné qu'elles l'ont hérités du dragon des éclairs, cela augmente leur vitesse afin d'être aussi rapide qu'un éclair. Ponctuellement pour les emblèmes mineurs, et en continue pour les emblèmes majeurs. En règle générale, elle l'utilise pour bouger plus vite en combat mais, cela peut s'appliquer à n'importe quelle activité et exercice. Par contre, c'est un emblème énergivore, ils n'ont pratiquement aucune endurance et seront désorientés quand ils l'utilisent trop, comme si tout autour d'eux allaient trop vite.
Par exemple, si Catherine utilise son emblème pour bouger plus vite en combat au point à ressembler à un éclair, son frère Théo s'en sert pour lire bien plus vite les textes de lois. Lors de la Guerre du Lion et de l'Aigle, les soeurs Sybille et Irène travaillaient souvent comme domestiques étant donné qu'elles sont bâtardes alors, elles utilisaient leur emblème pour faire leurs corvées plus vite afin de pouvoir étudier et s'entrainer.
Tumblr media
Emblème de Gautier : dragon de la Fissure
Effet en jeu : Augmente occasionnellement la puissance lors de l'utilisation des arts de combat.
Pour celui-ci, son effet doit également être adéquation avec les croyances des Srengs autour des Reliques, en particulier la Lance de la Destruction : elles sont capables de détruire le destin, la pire des choses pour un sreng. Dans l'idée que j'en ai, quand les Gautier sont encore du côté sreng de la frontière, ils n'utiliseraient que très rarement leur relique et toujours dans des occasions spécifiques. Pour Gylfe Gautier, l'ancêtre de Sylvain ayant vécu à l'époque de Loog, il n'utilise jamais sa Relique contre d'autres srengs car, il pense qu'il pourrait briser leur destin avec son emblème majeur mais, il l'utilise sans problème contre les soldats de l'Empire étant donné qu'il veut les repousser et qu'il n'en a juste rien à faire de l'état de leur destin. Ce sont des envahisseurs qui veulent le forcer à plier le genou face à l'Empereur, ils devront donc l'affronter à pleine puissance et avec toutes les armes qu'il a sa disposition car, même son cadavre refusera toujours d'obéir à un roi sans yeux comme l'empereur Otton.
Etant donné que le nabatéen qui avait l'emblème à la base est le dragon de la Fissure et que la Relique s'appelle tout de même la Lance de la Destruction, je pense que quand elle frappe quelqu'un alors que l'emblème est actif, elle créerait des sortes de fissures autour de la blessure, creusant les chairs et les os pour les réduire en poussière dans les cas les plus extrêmes ou si la victime reste trop longtemps en contact avec le "fer" de la lance.
Elles sont extrêmement difficile à guérir sans magie de foi très puissante car, c'est pas tant que la chair est tranché et qu'il y a une hémorragie, cela s'approche plus d'une nécrose extrêmement rapide des tissus avec le membre touché qui est fissuré comme de la terre trop sèche, ce qui conduit souvent à l'amputation de la partie affectée. C'est en voyant cette capacité à fissurer les corps et à les réduire en poussière que les srengs ont commencé à faire le lien entre les blessures et un destin réduit en morceau.
Pour un emblème mineur, c'est occasionnel mais, quand il est majeur, chaque blessure que le lancier inflige avec son emblème actif provoque des dégâts de ce genre plus ou moins graves. Elles peuvent aussi arriver quand le porteur de l'emblème donne un coup de poing mais, il faut vraiment que le contact avec la peau de la cible dure un peu pour provoquer ses fissures. Si le contact est assez bref, cela ne fera pas forcément de dégâts visibles.
Par contre, s'il l'utilise trop et sur une trop longue période, l'arme se retourne contre son porteur et ce sont ses mains qui se fissurent comme ses ennemis. Même s'ils sont plus résistants grâce à l'emblème, elles restent extrêmement douloureuses tout en mettant ses mains en jeu alors, le lancier doit vite changer d'armes afin de pouvoir continuer à se battre sans risquer de devenir manchot à cause de sa propre arme. Gylfe par exemple a toujours sa Relique mais aussi une autre lance accroché à sa monture ainsi qu'une épée et un poignard quand il se bat, surtout qu'étant sreng, il peut appeler son arme de loin grâce à ses tatouages. Je pense aussi qu'il ferait très attention lorsqu'il touchait d'autres personnes, de peur que son emblème ne s'active d'un coup sans qu'il ne le souhaite et blesse ses proches. Il serait donc extrêmement prudent et éviterait les contacts pour ne pas les mettre en danger, surtout quand il est angoissé ou peu de temps après une bataille.
A partir de maintenant, ça devrait être plus court, étant donné que j'ai moins de choses à développer ou moins d'idée sur ces emblèmes-ci contrairement aux précédents.
Tumblr media
Emblème de Daphnel : Dragon des flammes
Effet en jeu : Augmente occasionnellement la puissance lors de l'utilisation des arts de combat
Pour Luin, l'effet secondaire serait en lien avec le feu à cause du dragon, son attribut étant les flammes. De plus, dans la mythologie, Luin est une lance enflammée donc, assez basiquement, avec un emblème, on pourrait se dire que la Relique est en feu et brûlent ses adversaires.
Cependant, comme je veux aussi différencier l'effet des emblèmes des pouvoirs des Braves et de la protection qu'ils accordent à leur famille, je n'ai pas envie que Luin soit une arme enflammée. Cela ferait trop doublon avec la sorcellerie de Charon / Pyrkaïa qui se bat en s'enflammant elle-même, notamment un de ses yeux qui est entouré de flamme et qui est la première chose que ses adversaires voient d'elle et de sa sorcellerie avant de l'affronter et d'y rester. De plus, cela rentrerait en opposition avec les pouvoirs de Daphnel / Galatée qui est la Brave du vent et de l'air alors, ses vents pourraient souffler les flammes autour de Luin.
Alors, je partirais plutôt sur une arme dont le fer est constamment très chaud, comme si on l'avait chauffé à blanc. Elle provoquerait donc des brûlures autour de ses blessures mais, de manière plus localisés que si c'était des vraies flammes qui pourraient se propager aux vêtements. Cependant, même si c'est douloureux, cela a également pour effet de cautériser les plaies, ce qui empêcher la victime de saigner et donc de s'affaiblir à cause de l'hémorragie. Luin est donc une arme qui n'est pas forcément adapter à toutes les situations mais, peut permettre de repousser l'ennemi sans causer trop de dégâts à l'adversaire. Pour compenser, elle brûle moins vite les doigts que l'emblème de Gautier n'attaquera les doigts de son porteur.
Ce dernier aura également son corps qui chauffera, ce qui fera que ses coups brûleront aussi ses cibles, et lui aussi si le combat dure trop longtemps. Cependant, là aussi, c'est à double tranchant car, si c'est un cavalier, son cheval aussi sentira la chaleur. Pour Ingrid qui a un emblème mineur, ça va, l'effet est ponctuel et ne dure que quelques secondes donc, elle protège son pégase pour l'épargner mais, elle sait aussi qu'il pourrait tenter de la faire tomber en ayant peur de la chaleur soudaine. Cependant, pour un emblème majeur, il ne pourrait tout simplement pas combattre à cheval ou à wyvern, et se serait aussi compliqué pour lui de combattre en formation car, il gênerait ses camarades. Cela lui interdit aussi les armures lourdes car, la chaleur risquerait de s'accumuler à l'intérieur et de le faire cuire à l'étouffer. Un porteur de l'emblème majeur de Daphnel est donc plus un combattant plus isolé par rapport aux autres ou qui combat de manière isolé, tout en ayant moins de possibilité de type de combat. A cause de tous ses désavantages, je pense qu'ils ne seraient donc pas très souvent sur un champ de bataille mais, servirait de messager, d'éclaireur ou d'espion car, ça leur permettrait d'être un peu isolé ou dans un groupe de taille réduite et normalement, si tout se passe bien, ils n'ont pas à utiliser leur emblème mais, cela augmentera tout de même leur force de frappe en cas d'attaque.
Emblème de Dominic : dragon Broyeur
Effet en jeu : Conserve occasionnellement les utilisations de la magie de Raison.
L'emblème d'Annette ! Pour le coup, j'avoue que le mélange "économie magie de Raison" et dragon Broyeur est un peu étrange (même si honnêtement, je pense que c'est là surtout parce que les développeurs aimaient le contraste entre le fait que toutes les porteuses de relique en forme de hache ou de marteau [Hilda, Annette, Delagarde] sont de très petite taille et le fait que leurs armes soient de grosses haches qui cassent des bouches) mais, je crois qu'on peut lier les deux.
Pour lui, je pense que l'emblème augmenterait la magie présente dans le corps du magicien, d'où le fait qu'en jeu, on économise des sorts : le magicien a plus de magie en lui alors, il peut en dépenser plus. Etant donné que les personnes autour sentirait sans doute que le porteur a plus de magie en lui que la moyenne, cela rendrait le fait d'être à côté de lui plus oppressant et écrasant, d'où le surnom de "Dragon Broyeur" pour le nabatéen qui avait cet emblème à l'origine. Il a tellement de magie en lui que les personnes autour de lui ont l'impression d'être broyé à ses côtés.
Pour Annette qui a un emblème mineur, c'est ponctuel alors, même si c'est fatiguant et que cela peut faire mal si son emblème s'active en début de combat quand elle a encore beaucoup de magie en elle, ce n'est pas trop dangereux.
Par contre, pour une porteuse avec un emblème majeur où l'effet est permanent comme Lucine, c'est une autre histoire. Certes, son stock de magie est bien plus grand et elle peut utiliser sa magie très longtemps mais en même temps, elle a bien trop de magie en elle et c'est très dangereux car, son corps n'arrive pas à évacuer cette magie en surplus qu'il a du mal à contrôler. Cela peut arriver à un magicien expérimenté qui ne s'entraine pas assez et donc, n'évacue pas sa magie (c'est ce qui arrive à Rodrigue dans l'acte 2 de l'UA où Lambert survit à Duscur) mais pour Lucine, c'est après chaque bataille où elle doit suivre une routine extrêmement rigoureuse pour se débarrasser de la magie en trop dans son corps surtout que même si le corps a trop de magie en lui, il continue à en fabriquer en continue. Cela peut provoquer des lésions cutanées sur sa peau et des plaies, ainsi qu'une fatigue extrême et elle aura du mal à contrôler sa magie et si elle ne s'en débarrasse pas assez vite, cela peut même la tuer.
L'emblème est donc puissant mais, à double tranchant et peut être très dangereux pour son porteur s'il ne s'occupe pas des effets qu'il a sur lui.
Tumblr media
Emblème de Lamine : dragon d'Aegis
Effet : augmente le nombre d'utilisation de sort de foi
Là, pour le coup, je vais tricher un peu et dire que le talent de Mercedes "Dévoué Serviteur" est en fait l'effet de son emblème : l'emblème soigne autant ses alliés que son porteur quand il s'active, et quand le porteur utilise de la magie blanche offensive comme le sort Abraxas, Aura... cela le soigne également en volant de l'énergie vitale à sa cible, ce qui en plus du coup peut l'engourdir et la rendre plus vulnérable aux attaques. Comme ça, on fait le lien avec Emile qui est Cavalier Macabre dont le talent personnel augmente le taux de critique - ça peut venir de son emblème quand il utilise la magie vu qu'il a accès à ses sorts dans sa classe personnelle -, mais aussi avec l'Egide mythique qui était orné d'une tête de Gorgone et avait une fonction autant défensive qu'offensive.
A nouveau, c'est ponctuel pour Mercedes donc, elle ne sent pas trop d'effet secondaire mais, pour son ancêtre Rosine Von Lamine qui avait un emblème majeur, c'est également plus compliqué. Là aussi, son emblème est actif en continu mais, plus elle l'utilise, plus elle s'engourdit de la manière que ses adversaires, jusqu'à devenir complètement figé, comme si elle s'était changé en statue de pierre et elle ne pourra plus bouger pendant un moment (histoire de faire le lien avec les Gorgones et donc la légende de Méduse, surtout que ma Brave de Lamine ressemble aussi à un serpent ou une sorte de Méduse de mon côté à cause de ses fiertés). Comme pour un porteur de l'emblème de Fraldarius, il faut donc prévoir un moyen de l'évacuer du champ de bataille quand cela arrive mais, elle reste tout de même vulnérable très longtemps et doit éviter un maximum d'en arriver là. Rosine limitait donc au maximum l'utilisation de sa magie de foi en plein combat pour privilégier les armes blanches, et un petit peu la magie de raison même si elle évite, de peur que cela ne l'engourdisse aussi.
Tumblr media
Emblème de Maurice : Dragon de la Tempête
Effet en jeu : Augmente parfois la force lors de l'utilisation d'une arme
Pour cet emblème, étant donné que les utilisateurs de l'emblème de Maurice / de la Bête sont également considérés comme maudits, je me dis que l'effet de leur emblème pourrait renforcer cette idée qu'ils sont maudits en plus de la transformation de Maurice / Siopèle en monstre, ainsi que sa sorcellerie de l'ombre et de la lumière qui était très craint à cause de sa capacité à se rendre invisible pour les décapiter d'un coup d'épée.
Je me demandais donc si son emblème ne pouvait pas rendre son porteur la rendre difficile à distinguer en dérèglant les sens des personnes autour du porteur, le transformant un peu comme une ombre brillante, tout en renforçant la vue de son porteur. Pour Marianne qui a l'emblème mineur, cela la rend difficile à distinguer quelques secondes, ce qui permet de se glisser dans l'angle mort de ses cibles pour les frapper plus fort.
Cependant, pour un porteur d'emblème majeur, encore une fois, l'effet est permanent et que si le porteur est difficile à distinguer pour l'ennemi, c'est également le cas pour ses alliés et il déforme aussi leurs sens, ce qui affaiblit en fait tout le monde autour de lui. Cela les empêche donc d'occuper des postes de commandants qui doivent être rapide à identifier dans le chaos de la bataille (d'où le fait qu'ils portent souvent des cimiers en plumes ou en crin ou d'autres attributs qui permettent de les repérer de loin) mais doivent aussi éviter de combattre en formation. Ils combattent donc plus de manière isolé ou comme cavalier léger chargés d'harceler l'ennemi où les formations sont plus lâches.
Tumblr media
Emblème de Goneril : Dragon Kalpa
Effet en jeu : empêche parfois les contre-attaques ennemis
Bon... comment dire que c'est compliqué pour celui-là... comme le rappel très bien ce billet de Mwezina, le kalpa est une unité de temps et "à la fin de chaque kalpa, le monde est anéanti et renaît." Donc, un pouvoir lié au temps collerait bien mais, le fait de pouvoir remonter le temps est réservé à Byleth, on ne peut pas trop empiéter sur ses plates bandes...
Alors, je partirais plus sur un pouvoir proche de celui du serpent dans Miraculous : dans cette série, quand on utilise le pouvoir du serpent, le porteur marque une sorte de check-point à un moment x ou il peut revenir en faisant remonter le temps à tout le monde en tournant le serpent sur son Miraculous, tant que le délai des 5 minutes avant la détransformation ne soit écouler. Pour l'emblème de Goneril, on partirait plus sur quand l'emblème s'active, le porteur peut reculer dans le temps pour revenir à un endroit précis mais, il est le seul affecté avec tout ce qu'il touche.
Pour partir d'un cas plus concret, prenons la scène de la défense de Derdriu dans AM avec Hilda, emblème mineur dont l'emblème s'active de manière aléatoire. Elle traverse le pont, puis elle combat Arundel. Lorsqu'elle est sur le point de se prendre un sort alors que son emblème s'active, elle peut reculer sur le pont pour retourner au milieu du pont où elle était avant afin d'éviter l'attaque avec tout ce qu'elle touche. Imaginons qu'en jeu, elle a Marianne en assistante, si elle touche Marianne quand son emblème s'active, elle reculera dans le temps avec elle pour retourner là où elles étaient avant toutes les deux. Si elle combat sur le dos d'une wyvern, la wyvern retournera au milieu du pont avec elle. Pour Eudoxie dont l'emblème est actif en permanence, elle peut le faire n'importe quand.
Cependant, cet emblème est très dangereux à utiliser car, il est extrêmement énergivore et douloureux à utiliser, ce qui sonne son porteur et lui fait cracher du sang à chaque utilisation et que si l'effet s'arrête, le porteur risque de perdre quelque chose en cours de route quand il remonte le temps. Pour reprendre l'exemple d'Hilda à Derdriu, elle pourrait au mieux perdre des objets qu'elle a sur elle pendant qu'elle remonte le temps, au pire un bout de son corps. Pour Eudoxie, je pense qu'il lui manque quelques morceaux de chair à cause de bond dans le temps plus ou moins raté en fin de bataille alors qu'elle battait en retraite et qu'elle était épuisée. Et plus le bond dans le temps est long (disons 1 heure en arrière plutôt que 5 minutes), plus il est risqué. C'est également le cas quand le porteur transporte d'autres personnes avec lui. Pour revenir à l'exemple où Hilda remonte jusqu'au milieu du pont avec Marianne, il y a de grande chance qu'elle laisse Marianne a mis parcours, voir avec sa main encore agrippée à elle. C'est donc un emblème dangereux à n'utiliser qu'en cas d'extrême urgence.
Tumblr media
Emblème de Blaiddyd : Dragon Grim
Effet en combat : Double parfois l'Atk et l'usure des armes pour les arts de combat.
Bon, là, ça va être simple vu qu'on voie en jeu l'effet de cet emblème : les porteurs ont tous une super force. Simple et efficace. Pour Dimitri, on peut ajouter qu'il a du mal à la contrôler mais, je le mettrais plus sur le fait qu'il est encore assez jeune (et peut-être Duscur) alors, il peut avoir du mal à la contrôler à cause de son manque d'expérience ou qu'étant donné qu'il est ado, sa force augmente trop vite avec sa puberté et son corps qui change beaucoup alors, il n'a pas le temps d'apprendre à la contrôler, ce que sa maladresse naturelle n'aide pas, même si c'est temporaire. Je n'aime pas vraiment l'idée que Dimitri pourrait blesser ses amis et ses proches par accident (et vade retro la fanon qui dit que quand une personne est enceinte d'un bébé à emblème Blaiddyd, il va casser les os de sa mère en bougeant, c'est déjà assez compliqué une grossesse comme ça !) alors, il peut contrôler sa force hors période exceptionnelle. Pour un emblème majeur, cette force est encore plus grande au quotidien mais comme pour l'emblème mineur, hors circonstance exceptionnelle, le porteur est capable de la contrôler.
En combat, si la force de Dimitri augmente d'un coup quand son emblème s'active, pour Loog qui est un porteur d'emblème majeur, c'est continue, ce qui est un véritable problème vu qu'il abime très vite ses armes et en combat... ça peut très vite être gênant surtout que même s'il sait les réparer, ça coute tout de même assez cher à faire et qu'il ne roule pas toujours sur l'or. Il se sert donc de sa grande force pour en avoir plusieurs sur lui afin de les remplacer et privilégie si possible le combat au corps à corps pour éviter de trop tout abimer trop vite. Il utilise également beaucoup Areadbhar qui ne peut pas se briser mais, comme pour tous les autres, si son emblème est actif trop longtemps, il le vide littéralement de ses forces : sa force de titan disparait et le laisse très faible, quasi incapable de bouger avec ses jambes qui deviennent trop fragile pour bouger. Il doit donc aussi faire attention à ne pas en abuser.
Tumblr media
Emblème de Gloucester : Dragon artisan
Effet en jeu : Augmente parfois la force pendant les attaques magiques
Ok... oubliez ce que j'ai dit sur le dragon Kalpa, c'est lui le pire... peut-être la capacité à rester coller au mur et au plafond ou qu'il peut étirer son corps, histoire de lier le fait que c'est de la magie et un artisan à qui se serait utile pour finir plus facilement son boulot ? ... non... honnêtement, je ne voie pas trop comment lier le côté artisan et la magie plus forte de temps en temps sans que ce soit une copie de l'emblème de Dominic. En plus, même si j'aime bien mon Amaury qui a un emblème majeur et qu'il sait se battre, il n'utilise pas beaucoup la magie et ne va pas souvent sur le champ de bataille, étant le trésorier et l'organisateur du groupe. Et Lorenz, même si c'est un des champion de la remontada au maillot blanc à pois rouge, c'est clairement pas un des persos que j'aime le plus du jeu alors, je préfère ne rien dire sur leur emblème plutôt que sortir un truc mal fichu car je n'ai pas de bonne idée. Joker pour cette fois.
Les emblèmes des Saints.
Bon, là aussi, je vais poser un joker pour les humains. Pour les dragons, je pense que leur pouvoir se rapprocherait des capacités de la sorcellerie mais, en beaucoup moins mortel étant donné que les dragons maitriserait naturellement leur don. On voie qu'Indech maitrise l'eau quand on l'affronte alors, il a surement des pouvoirs assez proches, idem pour Macuil et le vent qui se rapproche de la sorcellerie de Daphnel. Pour Flayn, elle est le dragon de la lumière alors, elle aurait sans doute une magie proche de celle de Siopèle / Maurice avec une utilisation bien moins lugubre ou mortel, et pour Rhéa qui est le dragon du ciel, un mélange de la sorcellerie de Kelon / Riegan et Daphnel.
Pour leurs porteurs... comment dire ça... c'est peut-être parce que les personnages adrestiens sont ceux pour qui je suis la plus froide à part les excellents Petra et Ferdinand (on y reviendra plus tard pour lui) mais pour les autres... vide total... surtout que la plupart sont des persos blagues... encore, je pense que si Linhardt était en fait le frère de Flayn et un nabatéen, il pourrait être très intéressant : sa narcolepsie viendrait d'une blessure qu'il a reçu pendant la guerre mais, il refuserait de tomber dans le sommeil nabatéen pour rester avec son père pour s'occuper de sa soeur qui est plus gravement blessé que lui, notamment en travaillant dans l'Empire. Caspar l'aurait rencontré quand il était petit et l'aurait grillé à une occasion x ou y (Linhardt s'évanouit à cause de ses blessures qui se referment mal, et Caspar les découvre en voulant l'aider) mais, même si c'est pas le couteau le plus affuté du tiroir, il comprend en voyant Linhardt terrifié qu'il ne doit pas le dénoncer. Et pour Bernie... ça mériterait un billet à part vu que son perso aurait pu être très intéressant si elle évoluait vraiment et dépassait son état de perso-blague qui hurle tout le temps (et pour une fois, la traduction a amélioré le personnage en faisant de son père un vrai père abusif et pas juste un autre personnage de vanne qui lui faisait de longs sermons ennuyeux) mais d'autres l'ont bien mieux fait que moi.
Et pour leurs ancêtres, même combat, surtout que d'après Hanneman, il n'y a pas de porteur de l'emblème majeur de Cichol connu à part le saint lui-même alors, est-ce que ce serait possible qu'aucun des emblèmes donnés par un des saints ne puissent être majeur ? Après tout, ils ont donné leur sang volontairement alors, peut-être qu'ils ont donné une quantité plus faible qui ne donne que des emblèmes mineurs ? Alors, ça pourrait expliquer pourquoi personne n'aurait eu l'emblème majeur de Cichol pendant un millénaire. Alors, je ne me suis pas trop creusé la tête pour eux honnêtement... sauf pour Ferdie qui est mon aigle préféré avec Petra.
Emblème de Cichol : Dragon de la Terre
Effet en jeu : Permet parfois d'empêcher les contre-attaques ennemies lors de l'utilisation d'art de combat.
Dans la même logique, Seteth étant le dragon de la Terre, il aurait une magie proche de la sorcellerie de Gloucester / Paenitens : manipulation de la terre en général. Cela rendrait sa peau de dragon extrêmement dur, comme une carapace de terre cuite, même si elle peut être ébréchée avec des coups suffisamment puissant. Pour l'emblème majeur chez un humain, ça aurait un effet similaire : le porteur devient dur comme de la pierre, d'où le fait que quand c'est un emblème mineur, cela empêche les contre-attaques, c'est juste que ça ne fait aucun dégâts. Cependant, contrairement à l'emblème de Fraldarius où les dégâts des coups est atténué, même si les coups font moins mal, la douleur reste et entaille à chaque fois le corps du porteur, ce qui crée plusieurs petite blessures qui peuvent être dévastatrice si elles sont trop nombreuses. Comme pour les autres, c'est un emblème énergivore et quand il s'arrête, il laisse le corps mou comme de l'argile alors, le moindre coup peut déformer le porteur de l'emblème de manière permanente.
Cependant, personne n'a jamais eu à l'expérimenter étant donné que Seteth n'a pas donné assez de sang pour que l'emblème soit majeur, même au possesseur original qui n'aurait pas eu cet emblème majeur. Honnêtement, je le voie comme un gars des plus ordinaires, un simple agriculteur ou un berger mêlé à tout ça par le plus grand des hasards car, il a aidé Seteth et sa famille à un moment donné (peut-être peu de temps après la Tragédie de Zanado alors que Seteth, Eriu et bébé Flayn [si elle est déjà née] cherchaient des survivants partout en Adrestia) et qu'il les a toujours soutenus après. Aegir / Luka est quelqu'un de noble de coeur, comme Ferdinand. C'est d'ailleurs grâce à sa clairvoyance et sa bonté naturelle, ainsi que le fait que ce soit un des seuls à avoir un métier ordinaire, qu'il ne juge pas les Braves tout de suite et comprend assez vite qu'il y a anguille sous roche dans cette histoire car, n'étant pas aveuglé par la vengeance comme Macuil ou Rhéa à ce moment-là, il arrive à voir qu'ils ne sont clairement pas dans leur état normal et que quelque chose cloche avec leur magie qui semble ne pas fonctionner correctement, surtout que la plupart (sauf peut-être Metaheta) sont des gens ayant une vie ordinaire comme lui. La deuxième qu'il affronte, c'est Siopèle / Maurice alors qu'elle tente tant bien que mal de garder ses moutons malgré la douleur, ils font littéralement le même métier et la seule différence avec lui, c'est qu'elle est nomade et lui sédentaire mais, il la cerne assez vite.
Je le voie mal demander de lui-même ou même vouloir à avoir un tel pouvoir entre les mains... ça arriverait surement plus parce que Seteth veut lui donner de quoi le protéger pendant la guerre, ce qu'il accepterait bon gré mal gré en voyant que c'est vraiment un des meilleurs moyens de le protéger, surtout que Seteth / Cichol et Eriu ont bien besoin d'une personne qui pense aussi que les Braves ne sont pas forcément coupable (en plus d'Indech qui a des doutes avant d'en être sûr quand il affronte son ami Gloucester / Paenitens, alors qu'il sait parfaitement qu'il ne volerait jamais le pouvoir de qui que ce soit, surtout qu'il lui a appris le principe central de la sorcellerie : seul le sorcier doit payer le prix de sa sorcellerie). Un pouvoir qui permet de mieux résister en cas d'attaque lui correspond donc assez bien : simple et efficace.
Les emblèmes des Apôtres :
Etant donné que les effets sont les mêmes que d'autres emblèmes et que j'utilise rarement les personnages des Loups de Cendres (là aussi, le syndrome du perso-blague a encore frappé à part pour Yuri qui est certes un personnage intéressant mais que je n'utilise pas trop), je vais aller très vite.
Emblème d'Aubin : dragon de glace qui empêche parfois les contre-attaques quand le porteur utilise une arme, les coups du porteur gèle leur cible ou au moins l'engourdissent tellement de froid que cela les empêche de bouger correctement et donc de contre-attaquer. Effet secondaire : tétanise le porteur quand il est utilisé sur une trop longue durée et provoque des engelures graves sur tout le corps.
Emblème de Chevalier : dragon des neiges, permet de se régénérer après une attaque spéciale, voir l'emblème de Riegan. Effet secondaire : sensation de brûlure de plus en plus forte comme si le porteur fondait quand il fait chaud, de geler progressivement s'il fait froid comme si la neige se transformait en glace.
Emblème de Noa : dragon fleuri, on va plutôt reprendre le talent de Constance pour en faire l'effet de son emblème. Au soleil, l'emblème rend la magie bien plus puissante comme une fleur qui s'épanouit mais, elle se referme à l'ombre ou dans le froid afin de mieux se protéger, tout en rendant la magie plus faible afin de l'économiser un maximum en cas de besoin. Effet secondaire : effet dépendant du temps et du terrain, et provoque de la confusion et des troubles du comportement s'il est utilisé sur une période trop longue ou trop souvent.
Emblème de Timothéos : dragon de l'ombre, augmente le nombre de l'utilisation des sorts de foi. Voir l'emblème de Dominic pour les avantages et les inconvénient avec la variation que si l'emblème s'active quasi en permanence dans les endroits sombres ou la nuit, à la lumière du jour, le porteur utilise plus de magie pour le même sort, ce qui fait qu'il perd en endurance. Un emblème très situationnel donc.
Et je crois que tout le monde est là ! Merci beaucoup pour avoir tout lu ! J'espère que ça vous a plu !
