It's the way Ted feels when he's curled up next to you or behind you.

His warm body. You can sometimes feel his heart beating against your ear or your back.

It's the way he smells -- that woodsy body wash and cologne combo that's not too strong but smells like a man. Not a boy at a club - not Axe body spray that makes you gag. No, a man.

His hands are big and warm. His fingers are fairly slender yet thick at the same time. When he drags them down your arm, or down your back, you feel instant release of tension.

You feel his hands travel up over your hip and waist, over your arm and shoulder, across your back, to your neck. He touches you like he'd touch art.

When you curl into Ted, into his chest, you can help nuzzling into the tuft of chest hair that peeks out from the neck of his undershirt. Or, in lieu of that, just burying yourself in that thatch of dark, course hair in general. It smells like the rest of him.

When the room is dark and it's just the TV and the rain pattering against the window, you really feel like you're in your own little world.

"You wanna watch somethin' else, dumplin'," Ted will ask, making sure to flip the channel to something you like. Your opinion matters most to him.

You nod and hum. "Whatever you want," is your usual answer, and he smiles. He always finds some old comedy movie on that delights him.

"Oh, You've Got Mail is on," he says, his hand gripping you closer. "Not as good at Sleepless in Seattle but still good."

You grin and chuckle, the vibration of his husky voice in your ear and against your skin. You love his little takes on things.

"Why do you like Seattle better?" you ask drowsily, his hand still drifting up and down your back while you burrow against his neck and run your fingers down his chest.

"Because it's such a great story for folks who love radio. I mean, a radio host answers a caller, and a little boy wants to find his dad love?" Ted says, sighing with a smile. "Plus, that little guy always reminded me of Henry."

You look at him and smile, kissing his lips. "Hen is a sweet kid, Ted. You raised him so well."

Ted squeezes you a little tighter.

"I appreciate that darlin'. Henry sure likes you, too," Ted says, his voice getting drowsy as the movie hums on.

"I think Hen would've picked you off a radio if he had the chance."

Can someone help me find this show I used to watch on Disney? Aired in southeast Asia Disney early 2000s. Anime for children- they are like, cute animals- I forgot the word for this kind if character design but they're animals that can talk- and it was a really cute art style like shima shima tora no shimajiro or like animal crossing

And the plot was that they were travelling around their world?? It was a fantasy setting too, a bit like princess tutu? I don't remember why they were travelling, But I do vividly remember one episode- where they go to this kingdom, where all the folks there are birds, and there was this one character who was a hen? I think? But she referred to herself as very plain, and she had a crush on the bird prince who was like this bishounen raven or crow?? And all I remember is that she went to a ball and tripped in front of the prince who was like brooding but sweet and he immediately fell in love with her or like they danced?? Pleaaase someone help me find this anime, I have been looking for nearly 5 years now. I'm 100% sure it aired on Disney channel southeast Asia, and it definitely wasn't an American animation or anything western, its either Chinese or Japanese, but it was dubbed English. Heeeelp

WIP Wednesday

And for day 5 of 1000 words of summer I’ve failed to reach 1k again, getting just 360 words written today, but heyho I’m just too sleepy folks!

Anyway! Thank you for the Wednesday tags @rewritetheending and @indigo2831 <33 ……i have a feeling this snippet might get me yelled at? Maybe? >:)

For a moment all Eddie can hear is the tinnitus-like-whine of a flatline, and the echoes of Hen and Chimney’s voice from the back of the ambulance screaming and shouting for Buck to hold on, to fight, come on Buck–come on—

Three minutes and 17 seconds.

How long has it been now? Longer, he thinks. The gunshot only felt like seconds ago but...that was before he’d been cold cocked to the back of the head, and shoved into this back room along with everyone else. He barely remembers how he got here. He’s lost time. He’s always losing time.

The back of his neck is tacky and warm, and his vision is still swimming. A tear leaves a trail down his cheek but he can’t bring himself to wipe it away and soon more follow. He doesn’t want to move. Or think. Or breathe. He wants to stay as still as a statue, huddled against the wall. He wants to slip back into the dream. He wants Buck to keep him close, burrowed beneath the sheets, and whisper that it’s raining outside, but that’s okay, because they both secretly wanted to stay in their pajamas all day anyway—

But he can’t.

He can’t.

oh my goodness I love this questioooonnnnnn!!! I’ll go through each character for the first one

1.Daphne’s opinion on

Ginger: Absolutely thinks the world of this hen, Ginger was the first one to immediately start making her feel at home once she arrived (more like crashed, but more on that later) there. Daphne, even though they’re around the same age, looks up to her a great deal. She really admires her courage, strength, and can-do outlook on life.

Bunty: Bunty.. hm… Bunty Bunty Bunty… how would I describe the relationship between these two… well, Bunty’s style is a bit.. rough? For Daphne. But she often thinks the way that Bunty can be so overtly blunt amusing, like in a cheeky embarrassed “oh my goodness I can’t believe she said that” type of way

Babs: Did someone say knitting buddies? And afternoon tea? I think they get along quite nicely! Although, Daph is more into sewing, so she sits and stitches while Babs knits and purls while they both chat about their day, it’s quite lovely

Fowler: Oh gosh.. okay.. bit of a spoiler, but Daphne was afraid of Fowler at first but ONLY BECAUSE he accused her of being a spy (no, I’m not kidding). But give the old man a break, Daph, he’s seen some crazy things. They get on just fine now, Daphne always liked talking to older folks anyhow, so she sometimes likes to listen to Fowlers stories about his R.A.F days if life is feeling a little dull or boring, he’s lived a long time so he always usually has something interesting to say!

Rocky: annoying (but loveable) older brother (more on them later… there’s history there)

2. Daphne likes sunflower yellow! It’s bright and warm and reminds her of the sunflower fields during the summertime back home. Seafoam green and maroon are close seconds

3. mmmm I think she really enjoys baking with her, because it’s something that they’re both really good at (it’s both a science and an art) and isn’t something that requires so much intense focus that they can’t chat while they do it, but isn’t so terribly mindless that it isn’t stimulating (like watching tv). Plus they get 15 to 40 minutes of stand in the kitchen and chat (and also smooching) time while their creation bakes! And usually, if the pastries turn out really good, they’ll offer them around to everyone on the island.

Today's episode being

Shiori experience Jimi na Watashi to Hen na Ojisan

Shiori experience has a wacky premise with the spirit if jimi Hendrix possesing our titular character shiori's body. Its weird all right but everything about this plot, characters and even action drama oozes with love.

Its clear this manga was made by folks who love rock music. They perfectly capture the experience of putting your soul into an instrument. The experience of creating a band. The experience of trying to fit in and feeling left out. The experience of being at a rock concert and feeling your heart shake in your body due to the intesity and loudness of the music seeping through your ears and soles of feel that vibrate due to the music.

The characters have so much heart to them. Not one of them doesn't havea motive or motivation or flaw. The main characters get so much character development just joining the band.

The art is absolutely stunning. Its gritty but with a good understanding of anatomy. The large spreads are worthy of being hung in a room.

While the official releases are slow its worth it. Everytime there's a new chapter i end up reading the entire stiry again just to experience it again.

The plot seems weird but its worth seeing through. A classic underdog story with an unconventional protagonist and a ragtag band.

So. Uh. This was unintentional.

For those of you following my main fic, the Prime Override, you know that the past big chunk o' chapters has been about Durge, also known as the Tentacle Dude (not really, but also yes really).

And while I was writing it, my mind wandered on tangents, as it does, and one of the less helpful tangents was, "lmao, if the 2003 Tartakovsky Clone Wars was a popular Japanese anime with a sexier art style, there would be so much tentacle p*rn with Durge x Obi-Wan."

And it lead me to consider that hmm, I actually...don't think I've ever seen that ship before??? HMMMM....

And then this happened.

● There are tentacles. And slime. Given that it is tentacle hentai and all. Clothes melt...but AH HA! Obi-Wan is actually wearing clone armor in this!! BAS - Genre & Log lines [26.2.24]

Hello folks, as you know I'm starting my Bachelor of Screen Arts this week, and I thought because I love to learn and share that knowledge, it would be fun to share some of what I'm learning :)

Today, we learned about genre & log lines, which, might not sound interesting or pretty basic at first. But there's surprisingly a lot of cool stuff here & EXAMPLES! :D

Genre is a style or category of film, art, music & literature with a defined set of characteristics that allows examples to be grouped by others.

For video games, the same goes, except genre also includes how the player interacts with the game. E.g. RPG or FPS.

What's interesting, is that genre changes over time. An action movie today, won't be the same as an action movie from 30 years ago. It's how they evolve, change and develop which keeps them new and interesting. What elements are repeated is what keeps audiences feeling safe with something they'll like, and what elements are different (whether it's abiding by or subverting standard conventions), is what keeps in interesting, so the audience doesn't get bored by the same carbon-copy films.

Log line are a summary of a story's essential ingredients in a way which isn't bogged down with details, but is able to capture the listener's interest.

E.g. 'A plucky hen struggles to escape a cruel farmer. When a rooster from the circus arrives, a crack team assemble - Can they get out before the chicken pies get cooked?'

I thought this was really cool. I've tried to do this in the past, and mine always sound washy and long.

So for fun (& practice), I wrote the log line for Lost Children of the CCC:

'A reformed criminal with the power to reverse time is unable to save his friends from a notorious clan of criminals. Desperate to change their fates, he rewrites reality, unknowingly unearthing a dark secret of the past. Can him and his friends survive? Or will they be the next victims of Project Harmonious?'

That sounds SO COOL! Like, this is what I currently have on A03 for the same story:

'It was meant to be the perfect ending, It was meant to be a happy ending with his closest friends Charles & Ellie, It was meant to be HIS happy ending... ... and then the Toppat's happened. But not this time. Henry Stickmin is getting his happy ending, no matter the consequences.'

My current version, it sounds cool like an awesome blurb, but it's very cryptic and unclear. It gives us character names and tells us that someone or thing, called the 'Toppats' ruined this guys happy ending, and he's out for revenge. But that's it. It just tells us a revenge story.

The log line on the other hand is very clearly and easily presents the main character, the stakes, and enough of the plot that you know what happened, and a little bit of how.

The log line clearly has elements of an action/thriller (Ex- criminal vs criminal clan & hints of survival or death), sci-fi (time travel) and mystery ('dark secrets of the past').

All things which are exactly what this story is: An action mystery thriller, with aspects of sci-fi & fantasy. (I know, fantasy isn't technically in there, but the time travel is a part of a magic system in my world, not the sci-fi part (the sci-fi refers to Project Harmonious), so, fantasy.)
