Foodie Review ✳️ Natural Blend Vegan Cafe and Juice Bar They have a small shop on Malcolm X Blvd and it is lovely. Been there multiple times to get a vegan patty. Haven’t tried the juice blend yet or other things on the menu but between the patty’s and the different types of breads, I’m hooked! The atmosphere is very chill and seems to have a hint of Caribbean island vibes. The line starts from back of the store heading to the front (mentioned that cause I jumped the line and didn’t know it by heading straight to the counter 😩😂 ) They do have a area outdoors in the back for seating. Haven’t checked that out just yet, but plan to on my next visit to get a juice and some patties. By the way the baked breads are AWESOME! Might turn me into a vegan 🤔 The Coconut Sweet Bread is the best one to me. Look forward to going back to review some more of their food and check out their backyard space. REPOST • @chefinthenude Once upon a time in a spooky location, while doing spooky things to normal people I was watching this big guy get his makeup done. Giant ugly veins, and icky boils while he mean mugged the mirror, and intimidated all 5 ft 2 me. I was able to muster out “oh dam! That’s sexy!” He blushed, and we became acquaintances. Later on at a party I was reminded that he had great legs so I demanded that he take his pants off and show them off. And that’s when we became friends. And then I found out he was a fellow foodie and that’s when I became enthralled! . . . Recently his woman (and my god she’s a babe) came to me with a request for cake. I have mad respect for this girl...she’s a bad ass and someone I look up to very much. So of course I was titillated and honoured. One of my famous chocolate cakes, coming right up. But it needed to be perfect. She’s an angel and deserves nothing short of divine. And then there was an exchange. Cake for moussaka. DEAL. Plus Kenny (wait sorry that’s not how I address him.....KENNAAAAYYYYYY) saw this tea towel a while back and he knows me all too well, obviously. So he went back and got it for me. Talk about tickled pink!! And a hand written note?! Mandy, can we be sister wives?! I’ll cook for you too!! And I clean! (But I don’t fold fitted sheets) . . Good Morning!! It's New Years Eve and we're roasting our own coffee beans this morning before "fasted" cardio. WHAT IS FASTED CARDIO? Fasted cardio is simply, cardio performed after a fast. Usually first thing in the morning after 10 hours of 🚫eating. IS IT RIGHT FOR MY BODY TYPE? The better question here might be if fasted cardio is right for my fitness goals? If you are trying to burn fat and don't struggle with gaining muscle then yes fasted cardio could be an option. WHY WORKOUT FASTED? Because your body is in a fasted state it will release stored body fat as fuel; since most of your glucose (product of sugar/carbs) has been depleted. WHY CAFFEINE? If you supplement with caffeine before performing moderate intensity fasted cardio, your body will boost the levels of catecholamines which then stimulates fat burning enzymes to make fatty acids more available to be burned off. RESULTS: Paired with the right nutrition your body will begin to release stubborn body fat which is usually located in the hips, thighs and lower body for women and abdomen and lower back for men.
