                              THE WINTER NARNIAN GIFT EXCHANGE.
                    for: @athoughtfox from @oflucyandlorien.
Lucy and Edmund stand on the railway platform, waiting; Eustace tears his gaze from the compartment window. The train slows, jerking to a halt, and Eustace stands, pulls his case down from the overhead rack, steps off the train, and looks about for his cousins.
“Eustace!” Lucy throws her arms around his neck and leans back to look up at his face. “You’ve grown taller than me.”
“So he has,” Edmund notes with a grin. “Sorry, Lu. Destined to be the shortest, I suppose. Well, except for Susan, but she’s always wearing heels.” Edmund frowns at Eustace’s face, and his tone changes. “What’s the matter, Eustace?”
“Caspian is dead,” Eustace says flatly. He nearly whispers it, really, because it hurts, the memory of Caspian so old, when he’d been so young just weeks before. Edmund recoils, Lucy’s arms drop from around Eustace, and she takes a step back, frowning.
“What?”
“I think we both heard him, Lu.”
“Edmund!” Lucy turned back to Eustace. “What are you talking about?”
“I went back,” he tells the railway platform. “Two weeks into autumn term.”
“That was months ago,” Lucy says quietly. “Why didn’t you tell us sooner?”
“I should have, I know. I’m sorry.” Eustace clamps his mouth shut for a moment, willing his voice to steady. “It just—it didn’t seem the sort of thing I could put in a letter and explain properly without beginning at the end, which I suppose I have…anyway. I’m sorry.”
“No,” Edmund says hollowly. “He can’t be. We were just there. I—we were just there. He can’t be.” Edmund looks as though he might hit someone. Eustace steps away without thinking, and Edmund shakes his head. “I’m sorry.”
“How long had it been, in Narnian time?” Lucy tilts her head in question. “I mean, it wasn’t in a battle, was it?”
“No—no, it was nothing like that. It must have been decades since this summer. When we got to Narnia, I didn’t know Caspian until after he had sailed to seek Aslan’s country again. Oh, bother it all. I ought to have started at the beginning.”
“Would you, still? I’d like to hear as much of your adventure as you’ll tell.” There’s a yearning in Lucy’s voice, and Eustace remembers how she still seemed to be half in Narnia the rest of that summer, even  back in Cambridge.
They sit on a platform bench and Eustace begins with the beginning: Jill crying behind the gym, stumbling into Aslan’s country or being pulled by magic, how they arrived in Narnia only to just miss Caspian setting out for the end of the world, meeting Trumpkin, the parliament of owls and meeting Puddleglum, running around up north with the giant city and discovering the underground world, how they found Caspian’s son, Rilian, just time for Caspian to see him again before he died, and how, after the old king had died, he and Jill had found themselves in Aslan’s country again.
“After that it gets a bit blurry,” Eustace says. Lucy wipes her eyes surreptitiously; Edmund hands her a handkerchief. Seven months ago, Eustace would have mocked them for it, but it’s all he can do to keep his own voice steady.
“At any rate, Jill and I were back by the river in Aslan’s country, and Caspian was lying in the river. He looked as though he were sleeping.”
“Oh, Eustace,” Lucy says.
“Aslan made me drive a great nasty thorn into his paw and he let the blood fall on him, Caspian, I mean, and it sort of de-aged him until he was about the age he was on the Dawn Treader. After we talked a bit, Aslan let Caspian come with Jill and I back to the Experiment House, for about ten minutes, and we did Them, the bullies at school, I mean, rather a lot of good. The board ended up getting rid of our Head after the investigation into ‘costumed people with broadswords’ and ‘an escaped lion from the circus’.” Edmund snorts, and Lucy smiles a little.
“I’m sorry to have been the bearer of bad news,” Eustace says after a moment. “I wish I could have gotten to tell you that I had had some fantastical adventure in Narnia where everyone lived happily ever after.” Edmund snorts again.
“Caspian is living happily ever after, in Aslan’s country,” Lucy reminds them, smiling rather sadly. “Thank you for telling us that, Eustace.”
“Yes, thank you,” Edmund says. They sit on the bench, leaning on one another, until the last of the other passengers have left the platform.

for the meta asks for writers: 6, 20, 21! Thanks!
6. What character do you have the most fun writing?
that’s a good question, honestly. because while i write a lot of peter and susan, idk if i would say they’re the most *fun* given the amount of angst i put in there :P i think the most fun is definitely lucy, because she is such a ray of sunshine that i love giving claws and fangs to!
20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)
i’ve been taking a whole bunch of time trying to sort my brain and fics for this question. it’s been surprisingly hard, because while i write i definitely have sprawling callbacks, references, threads put in for future exploration. but as soon as i’ve taken a step back, it takes ages for me to find it all again. here are a few of them:
- something i tend to do a lot in my fics is connect peter to the sunrise in some form. it’s one of my favourite bits of imagery that i’ve tied to the pevensies and my narnia pieces. here’s a few examples:
“Jack’s heart leaps into his throat when, for a moment, he thinks he sees his late father out of the corner of his eye where Peter ought to be. A memory of watching a sunrise from atop the cliffs with his father occupies him for the next while.” (from odd passengers)    “Peter stands, straining under it, and the skies spread out in front and behind him. There is blood painted across his shoulders where the weight digs deep, and cracked edges look for purchase. Crimson seeps into the blue above. Around him, creatures bow and gasp and speak of beauty.” (from tell me, atlas) “When a smile tugged at bloodied lips / To outshine the rising sun with magnificent ease” (from i’ll keep the king ch. 2)
- generally, i enjoy writing about the pevensies in earthly/nature-y ways, if that makes sense? i know, especially in the strange/eerie/gothic pevensie bits that are floating around that’s a trend, and it’s one i absolutely adore and have in majority of my portrayals of them. i’ve a few set bits i relate to each pevensie. some examples: susan has lavender, fresh honey. edmund has moss, soft earth full of roots. lucy has water sunshine, grass stains. peter has iron, spring rain.
- there’s a bit in my zamonia-narnia crossover fic that i desperately wanted to add in for those who haven’t read the zamonia books, but couldn’t figure out how to make it flow with the way the characters are. so i will dissect it here :D
“The boy is a quick learner, clever and witty in his remarks. He takes some time examining what Volzotan knows to be the Rumo card. Volzotan takes eager note of the twitch of the human’s lips as he places the card down and focuses back on Volzotan’s teachings. It’s the only glimpse Volzotan gets of whatever lives behind the poker face.” (from the horrors that i promised you)
edmund is being taught to play the card game rumo in this scene. the rumo card is the most important card in this game, one that is bet on for a 50/50 chance of immense success or complete failure. this attribute of the card is also the reason why volzotan names the book’s protagonist rumo when he trains him up to become an efficient weapon to use against their captors. i just think edmund would see it and find some humour in it. (bonus note while finding this section in the fic i realised i had written “mustering” instead of “examining” because i was thinking of the german word “mustern” which means to inspect/scrutinise. a classic case of a false friend)
- and finally, another bit that’s most obvious in the above mentioned crossover fic is the clean split of giving peter and lucy violence/war/battle/action of that sort and giving susan and edmund the talking/scrutinising/intrigue bits that border on espionage. this is obviously very much based on canon and i know that a lot of other writers do this, but it’s always very fun.
21. What other medium do you think your story would work well as? (film, webcomic, animated series?)
i have such a soft spot for animation! it gives so many options, and i think it would be great to bring the weird wildness of the narnia in my head to life! i also love watercolour comics, and watercolour is absolutely something that’s always in the back of my head when i describe things.
thank you so much for sending these in! sorry for the wait, i had to really contemplate these <3

I would be so behind a darker vision of Narnia! Mostly because I think Narnia is canonically pretty dark as you gain adult perspective, but of course it has to be for kids too. I'd also absolutely love to spend more time with the Pevensies in England, especially around The Last Battle - they've been gone from Narnia for so long, what are they doing? I spy angst and drama opportunities.. also the Pevensies being uncanny and fey is my fave thing ever and I want to see them being a wee bit spooky
what you said about narnia being dark canonically is 100% true, i think it is just a matter on what one puts its focus on. most focus in the original stories (books, series, movies etc) is set on the magical element of it. the new world; the adventure it brings; the - most often - positive relationships between characters. it has some darkness and angst sprinkled in there, but it doesn’t really put many emphasis on it.
having that said, it really is just a matter of what the makers are going to find the most important to put emphasis on. maybe they’ll pick a few elements of narnia that they’ll find the most interesting, and highlight them all in their own way. which is what i am hoping, because the different elements together are what make it an interesting story. if they were to pick one of them and just turn it into a disney-like-super-happy-fairytale story i would not like it; but would they make it super angst-y and dark, i’d also probably not ~vibe~ with it all the way.
anyways! for narnia to be a story about the world narnia itself - as in, almost all of the time spend in the stories is spend in narnia -  it has a lot of opportunities to expand on characters when they are *outside* of narnia, which is an interesting realization i had just now haha. i definitely think that expanding the story of what - in this case - the pevensies go through when they are back to their normal lives, would add more understanding; compassion; and interest towards each of them ! more layers in their personalities for sure !!

For the WIP folder ask meme thing, I'd love to hear more about 'Susan character study!'
hey! So I’ve actually been posting this (very slowly) in the “the gentle queen” series. And I actually just posted the latest bit here! But yeah, I was in my Susan feels one evening and I kind of just decided to write something a bit more introspective from her perspective to kind of explore her relationship with Aslan and how it sours. I have a lot of religious guilt and trauma myself so it’s an intriguing thing to explore through her, but it’s unfortunately been a bit sidelined since I’ve gotten so into jatp and have been directing my fic writing energy there. But it is a nice thing to add on to every once in awhile, so expect sporadic updates I guess? I’ve been thinking about putting it on AO3 as well.

Post Last Battle AU
Based on this post by the superlative @athoughtfox and a comment by @edmundjustking in response to an anon question about what the Pevensies would be like if they’d not all died in fiery wreck (expect for Susan).
This is a very short or a very long post, as I’ve written about 600,000 words about this in The Stone Gryphon which has now become full post-TLB AU as well as the Everybody Lives Nobody Dies AU (some of which is consistent with Stone Gryphon and some of which is not).  So, I’ll go short.
My essential premise is that they learned things there that were expected to used and implemented here.  And that’s what they all did.  All of them have issues with interpersonal relationships but all are able to make friends (in fact we did a whole thing on LiveJournal, years ago called Give The Pevensies A Friend) and form lasting romantic relationships (on the Narnia side, both Edmund and Lucy are bonded to others and they all have meaningful friendships).
Anyway, I’ll stop there.  I’ve got literally hundreds of thousands of words on how each Pevensie (and Eustace and Jill and Digory and Polly) all find their way.
Probably the shortest cuts to the Commoner Royalty are
Slightly AU to the overall vision but it stands, Winning His Spurs
Into the Jungle

fic rec / november 2020
Tumblr media
It’s officially Christmas season!! So excited to share with you these incredible fics from the past month - I have had so much fun reading them and I hope you do too!
(* is smut)
Tumblr media
I can’t begin this without mentioning my absolute favourite fic of the month - @spacelabrathor‘s *all there’s left to do is run; I honestly can’t recommend this enough, Cee’s writing is unparalleled and she continues to make me fall ever more in love with this Asgardian himbo. Dothraki!Thor x reader: Horse warlord Thor finds you a captive in a raid of a desert village and gives you a choice. Freedom by a quick death or taking his hand and going with him, to be his. You choose life, and with it, a husband who is wild and fierce and more than you could have ever imagined.
this absolutely gorgeous snippet by @inthorantine
The Getaway by @mostly-marvel-musings Summary: After the events of Endgame, and with everything the both of you had gone through, you and Thor needed a chance to heal. And a break away from everything seemed like the logical first step to take...
Tumblr media
*let me come home (series) by @evansweaters Masterlist Alpha!Steve x Omega!Reader: After years at a dead-end job shouldering everyone’s expectations for you but your own, you’re finally free to be whoever you want, go wherever you want. that is, until a series of unfortunate events strand you in amber’s end, where the sheriff – and notoriously unmated pack alpha – decides to take you in.
*Oopsy Daisy by @whateveriwant College!AU Steve x reader: In order to keep the animal shelter from closing, your sorority holds a car wash as a fundraiser. Besides cleaning cars all day, you have another goal in mind involving a certain football-playing frat member.

*Something about the self by @peachyteabuck Steve x reader: Steve Rogers had been nothing but a gentleman. But now he was home, alone, the scent of your perfume lingering on the jacket he let you wear when the sun had gone down and the feeling of your lips against his cheek as you stepped inside your own apartment after the date unforgettable.
Patience by @xbuchananbarnes Steve x reader: Steve Rogers knows a lot about patience.
*The Rumors trilogy by @xbuchananbarnes Professor!Steve x reader: To him she seemed so beautiful, so seductive, so different from ordinary people, that he could not understand why no one was as disturbed as he by the clicking of her heels on the paving stones, why no one else’s heart was wild with the breeze stirred by the sighs of her veils, why everyone did not go mad with the movements of her braid, the flight of her hands, the gold of her laughter. He had not missed a single one of her gestures, not one of the indications of her character, but he did not dare approach her for fear of destroying the spell.
Headcannon: Steve helps you with cramps by @captainsdolly

@athoughtfox asked me this:
I'd be interested to hear your opinion on one particular bit in HHB, which always strikes me - the bit where it describes the Narnian giants putting on spiked boots, which is a gory, nasty image, and yet it's the good guys who are doing it - I think it's an interesting look at the brutality war draws out, even from the good guys.
Oh, dear. Yes, I think it makes a gory, nasty image. And I think it’s also what I meant about the stylized violence—it is a nasty image to realistically think of what they are doing. But it is a rather exciting image to just think of the big spiked boots on the giant’s feet and the idea of the way they can quickly defeat the enemy, and the almost cartoonish extravagance of it!
But that is one part. Now for the harsh reality.
I mentioned “battles are ugly when women fight” earlier, and I talked about it quite often before. It is a good example of Lewis approach to war: as a bad thing, a thing that one shouldn’t be involved with when one didn’t actually need to, and a thing that shouldn’t be glorified, and sometimes was inevitable.
Father Christmas said very clearly “battles are ugly when women fight” and not “women are ugly in battle” or “women make battles ugly” or anything like that. It is absolutely wrong to assume that he meant women weren’t good enough for war. War wasn’t good enough for anyone—but when there had to be a war, and men had to be in it, then women shouldn’t go unnecessarily. And when it was necessary for women to fight, then the battles were indeed very ugly... and yet, they had to be fought.
The two world wars were very different from previous wars. WWI with the new speed of the modern machine guns and the long or everlasting effect they had on the soldiers, and WWII, the war of the Narnia books, with it’s scale, affecting everybody. Not just soldiers (tragic enough) or the politicians in charge.
The giants in their spiky boots were, I think, an example of the crude and ruthless bruality of modern wars. They were like bombs—they didn't kill the enemy, they just killed. Even when they came of the “good side”. Just think of Dresden—the allies fighting Nazis, and to do so killing countless civillians and refugees. A terrible and terribly complex matter, which really doesn’t belong here, but an example of the terrible scale of that new kind of war, that wasn’t fought in far away battle-fields and that meant danger and tragedy to everyone.
The giants, of course, only stumped on Calormene soldiers (or am I wrong about that? I don’t remember, but I think it was only in battle) but they has the scale of and technique of modern wars, not of the old-fashioned fight of man against man, so to speak. And yet, they were not only used by the villains, unlike their real counterpoints, by the good side, only used against the villains. Unless I am wrong about that last part, as said before. They were, as it is, a big scale weapon. Not specifically bombs, but on that new scale and extend of warfare.
And maybe, maybe they were not. That is again the thing of the style—maybe they are just that funny image. The idea of “what could giants do? stump them all! how would it be more dramatic? spiky boots!” is quite possible for a dramatic, maybe even comical fight in a children’s book.
And that brings me back to my other post: You never really know with Lewis. Because the harsh reality of war was so significant in his books, yet he also played around with the detached and superficial kind of battle in traditional romance and old tales, and his rather blunt way of writing it all down, make it sometimes difficult to distinguish. Does one read too much into it? Or too little?
In any case, and that is now the really important bit of all my rambling, there are two things quite clear about violence and battles and war in Narnia: they are bad, and the good side does them too. They should be avoided, but, when on the defence or for a really good cause, sometimes cannot be avoided. It is bad to do harm, and one shouldn’t fight because of one’s own pride or fun of it, but one has to stand up to one’s duty and do what one has to do. They are not enjoyable or in any way recommendable, but if the enemies choose to fight, then they have to face the consequences.
And one thing is very significant about Narnia, and about the Pevensies, and everyone on their side: They only hurt those who want to fight them, who want to harm them, and never harm anyone just for happening to be unintentionally on the same “side” or in the same place as the enemy. Not even the giants (unless I am wrong about that).

Hi! Your writing is just fabulous - for the fanfic ask game, S, M, and/or whichever one you'd most enjoy answering!
hey!! thank you so, so much. i adore your writing and definitely think it's part of why i jumped into producing narnia content so that means a lot :D (a mini response to letter R as well i suppose)
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
BOY DO I! i have so many ideas, snippets and wips... the ones that are the most recent in my mind are:
- a oneshot set just after hhb, with susan musing/lamenting on how narnia prospers and the sacrifices of war, set in my wilder narnia series
- a prince caspian/lww fusion where the two plots overlap, with the pevensies as fae who nurse a runaway caspian back to health and enlist his help in getting edmund back from jadis, who bound him to her
- musings on the importance of seasons after the 100-year winter (likely within the wilder narnia setting, but generally about how the changing of the seasons might be celebrated and what narnia would look and feel like through it all)
- peter vanishes without a trace and the search for him grows frantic quickly. a high king's lessons ought to have included the warnings of falling too deeply into the connection with his land
- a whole bunch of exploration of lgbtq+ pevensies
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
generally, i am a sucker for aus of almost any kind - be that modern aus or aus relating to other media (even if i haven't engaged with this other media). i've got a soft spot for h/c as well, and am an unashamed angst lover (ranging from death themes, to bad endings, to angsty aus). narnia-specific i think my favourite trope is definitely fae and odd magic (as one might be able to tell from my writing :P).
and because you gave me permission: F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
"Steady, Caspian." Peter's voice is low, rough. It settles in the air with such power that Caspian cannot stop himself from gasping quietly. As if recognising the order, Caspian's tremors slow as quickly as they came on. "You shall carry it well." There are no traces of concern or doubt in his words, only a certainty too much for Caspian to bear.
"How do you know?" Caspian asks, eyes locked onto the floor between them. Even still, he feels how the High King watches him.
Peter doesn't speak, but grabs hold of Caspian's cut hand with his own. Peter's fingers are wet with their mixed blood but careful regardless. He inspects the wound, turns it in the torchlight. Caspian holds his breath. Peter's other hand slides up to Caspian's neck, steadying his slumped head. "We would not have accepted your gift if we thought you would bring ruin to our people."
- i'll keep the king definitely is one of my favourite pieces i've written. while it's not dialogue heavy at all, i'm incredibly proud of the few bits that are spoken. caspian's uncertainty meets peter's steadfastness and i'm just really proud with how it all came out :D
thank you so much for sending these in and giving me the opportunity to share! <3

2021 Thank Yous
hey folks! We’re already seven days into January but I wanted to welcome in the new year by thanking some friends and mutuals and creators that made the previous year brighter and better even amongst the depressing reality of covid and the outside world. You have all been so supportive of me and my work and I love seeing all your work as well, and here’s to 2022!
@daintyduck99- as soon as we started talking in march I knew this was going to be a lasting friendship. You are so kind and thoughtful, and I love your sense of humor. Every time you share a piece of writing with me it warms my soul, you are so talented and create such beautiful imagery with your words. I can’t wait to send you more unsettling Facebook posts for us to both laugh at ❤️
@psyduckappears- I cannot express how much fun I have had talking to you. We always seem to have something to discuss in our ten minute long video rants and you are so intelligent and good at everything you do, it amazes me. Thank you for breaking my heart with all your angst 💛
@nuandia- my goodness, where to begin with you? When we started talking I didn’t realize how many of your fics i had read and loved but I just have to say you are the queen of polyphantoms and writing shit that squeezes my heart. I loved all our absurdly long video calls over the summer and relating over all our anxieties. I really miss you and miss brainstorming with you and I hope we can talk more this year 💜
@phantomsjulie- my dear, you are my oldest friend in fandom and I’m so grateful for you. I love that we just keep hopping fandoms together and I’ve had such fun yelling about all our favorite female characters. You make such beautiful edits and gifsets and that susan/lilliandil fic is still one of my favorite things on AO3. You’re amazing 💗
@theanarik- sometimes I still laugh about the conversation that started our friendship— an asexual lesbian telling a bisexual how to write good mlm spice— there’s definitely some irony there haha. for real though, I love how we can go off about anything and how much great advice you’ve given me, you’re truly like an older sister and I’m so thankful for you. You keep me connected to the batshit craziness that is supernatural and I hope to beta many more destiel fics for you in the future 🧡
@sunsetcurveofficial- I never thought I’d be a person to organize a fandom event but it’s because of you that I got into peterpatter in the first place. I love all your work so much and I know we don’t talk often, but you’ve been so supportive of me and there is no one else (+ the bugs) that I would have rather done peterpatter fest with. You rock! 🖤
@favoriteliar- I am so happy about the fact that we connected through our mutual friend and started smashing our brains together and seeing what happened! You are hands down my favorite creator in the jatp fandom- you do it all and you do it all well, gifs, art, fic, headcanons, and just being a supportive friend. You’ve stuck around even when others have lost interest and been such an original voice. Here’s to actually finishing the dark AU in 2022 since I have actually been working on it lately lmao (famous last words) 💚
@hyperfixated-bastard- still can’t believe we met in a saf discord. Seriously though, you’re a bop. You always make me laugh because your sense of humor is top tier, I love that we get to be a disaster bi and lesbian duo, so cool for us. Embrace the horse girl cringe! You’re one of my best friends and here’s to more unhinged facetimes and hopefully meeting in person soon 💙
here are some additional mentions of mutuals or people I’ve had fun conversations with or creatives I really enjoy seeing on my dash! I appreciate all of you so much and sorry if I didn’t get around to mentioning everybody :)

First Lines
tagged by @athoughtfox and @rthstewart
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line. Then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
From most to least recent, and keeping the original formatting:
1. oh blue, if only you knew (Among Us)
It’s night shift on the Skeld but no one is sleeping.
2. Against All the Powers Ranged (Narnia)
“I don’t understand,” Susan said after Edmund first explained his intentions. “What would be the point?”

6. if one could drive forever (Supernatural/Narnia)
For a long time, there was nothing.
7. White Lilies (Narnia)
White lilies and bright sunlight and the sweetest water she’s ever tasted and, beneath it all, an insatiable longing…
8. Tidings From Beaversdam (Narnia)
The missive arrived mid-afternoon by way of courier pigeon all the way from Beaversdam.
9. The Hidden Sword (Narnia)
“We should probably bury it all,” said Eustace, looking down on the little pile of Narnian weaponry that had been temporarily stashed in the bushes behind the gym.
10. Roll For Initiative (Narnia)
The lights are low, the air thick with anticipation.
11. The Lion In The Outback (Narnia)
Come my soldiers, my witches, my kin.
12. Scrapbook (Umbrella Academy)
Article clipped from the Toronto Star, written by reporter Edward Hughs:
FATHER OF MODERN EXPLORATION FACES BRAVE NEW WORLD Reginald Hargreeves becomes Father of Seven in One Fell Swoop
13. by the blood of the stars (Narnia)
There are travellers on the Ettinsmoor.
14. The Great Star Heist (Artemis Fowl)
Excerpt from LEP Human Case File 3012: The Great Star Heist:
No one has ever claimed responsibility for the Great Star Heist. Not officially, at any rate.
15. Cheers, Girlfriend (The Good Place/Killjoys)
   D    {    I     SELECT rac.Lucy, void.Janet    N    FROM RAC.Vessel AS rac    G    JOIN Void.GoodJanet AS void    !           ON (rac.AIEntityID = void.AIEntityID);    !     }
16. seeking horizons (Narnia)
First: A flash of swords, a cry of command, legends turned to flesh.
17. Golden Lights and Perfect Games (Narnia)
Well, I'm right pleased to be meeting you, Jill.
18. The Splendour of the Stars (Narnia)
The sun was hot for Archenland, or so the nobles of King Lune’s court repeatedly claimed.
19. Flashstream (Spider-Man)
💥Flash💥 @theonlyflasht
Hey flash fans, tune in at 4pm ET for my next livestream. You’ve heard rumours but today I tell all: I MET #SPIDERMAN’S BUTLER.
20. Regarding the Likelihood of Dodging Certain Death (Artemis Fowl/Umbrella Academy)
Excerpt from Research Notes obtained from the Fowl servers, dated five months prior to the Kidnapping of Captain Short:
There are an astonishing amount of stories, myths, fairy tales, etc. involving the irregular passage of time.
IN CONCLUSION:
Turns out that 9 out of 20 first lines are short excerpts, flashbacks, dreams, or poetry before I dive into the actual real first scene of the piece. This is an insight I now have that I’m not very sure what to do with. Probably write more fics starting in exactly that same kind of way.
