I am by no means a George Santos fan, but this is so infuriating to me. How is this “the worst ill fitting sweater of all time”? Is it because you can see his fat stomach? How is he retaining “a level of confidence rarely achieved by mortals”? Because he’s not concerned with hiding his fat body? Because quite frankly I don’t think there’s actually anything ill fitting about the sweater. It looks comfortable around the arms and the neck, and it’s not too big or too tight. I can’t believe I have to even make a post where it sounds like I’m defending George Santos because I’m not. I am just sick of seeing people make ridiculous hyperbolic comments about someone’s fat body because you can *checks notes* See That They Are Fat™ . And I’m sure lots of other fat people are sick of it too. Skinny people fuck all the way off.

stop being preachy on this subject and trying to force everyone to interact or make posts about the situation, some people have dedicated their accounts to specific things in order to compartmentalize and not have to deal w this mental anguish from doomscrolling 24/7.

not allowing yourself any peace rest or leisure will not end the war, it will not bring back the dead, will not aid the suffering of those people. the only thing not allowing yourself peace like that will do is soothe your conscience as if you were actually doing something when you aren't. you're just watching with your hands tied like everyone else. you can enjoy things and post about other stuff while still deeply caring and being in solidarity with the people of palestine, this is the internet you can do multiple things at once in different web spaces.

telling other people what they should or should not be doing on the internet while there's a war on won't fucking do anything except shame people for trying to stay sane. you have no idea how harmful this shit is for people with moral obsessions and compulsions, you're just causing more suffering to people who don't deserve it, just stop that shit. if you actually want to help then take action, call your representatives, show up to a protest, donate to a cause. anything else.

Dialogue Day

I was thinking it would be fun for us to share a section of dialogue that we like from our own work! It can be funny, sad, ridiculous, mysterious, plot-centric or just characters shooting the breeze…anything! And it can be from a WIP or a posted fic! It can be short or long! Let’s celebrate our beloveds having a chat. ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜 I shall start with something cute/stupid (cupid!!!) from a WIP:

Carlos curves his hands around TK’s neck. “TK, Look at me.”

“I can’t.” TK breaks, looking anywhere but at him. This being dazzled thing – it’s mutual. And maybe this is the emotional equivalent to how Carlos feels about being physically naked in a public space. He just wants to swim away. “And I won’t.”

“What? Why not?”

“Your eyes are too big.”

“Excuse me?” Carlos scoffs.

“They are too big.”

“Nobody’s ever told me that they’re too big before.”

“They’re so big they see everything,” TK tells him, a little snarly.

“That scares you, huh?” Carlos runs a hand through TK’s wet hair, pushing it up from where it’s flattened against his scalp.

“It would scare you too.” TK wafts a hand at Carlos’ face, feeling foolish and vulnerable. “If it were the other way around.”

Carlos kisses TK’s forehead in a motion that hushes him, and then nuzzles his own forehead against it. The bridges of their noses touch, and they both shut their eyes. “It is the other way around,” Carlos says, “Sometimes I can’t look at you, either. And I mean that as a compliment.”

the one good recent online trend has been when someone decides to post a picture or video of people just existing in the world with the intent to mock them online and everyone comes together to shame the poster and not the people being photographed without their permission i think that’s good we should be making it unacceptable to be so needlessly cruel to our fellow humans
