I don't know if you are aware of Epic The Musical, but I want to point out a couple of lines from Ruthlessness that remind me of Jason (re batman not killing the joker).
"You are the worse king of good 'cause your not even great ... cause you fight to survive, but won't kill and don't get the job done"
"You are far to nice, mercy has a price ... Unlike you I've got no mercy left to give"
Dang…. Yeah those lines are screaming Jason.
Jason started out as this sweet boy who didn’t let his tough life dictate his future and found happiness despite it all only to have it ripped from him in the most brutal fashion.
And then he comes back. And he’s large, he’s powerful, he’s scary. And he’s trying to make the world a better place no matter the cost. Regardless of how many bridges he has to burn.
But at the core of it all he’s just a hurt little child asking his father why he wasn’t enough.

there’s a question to be asked i think about to what extent “getting out” can be conflated with “being saved” in this show, and what freedom actually means to any of these characters.
like you can argue that shiv saved ken by voting against him on gojo, but what if your intent behind saving someone is to inflict a worse punishment than if you’d just left them trapped? can a child weaned on poison survive on milk, or are you just sentencing them to a death by inches, starved of the only thing they know? and if you save someone specifically because you know that being saved is the worst thing that can happen to them, is that kindness or cruelty? at what point does a good thing become a malicious act?
and you can say that roman is finally free, but what exactly is he free from? the company? his father? does unlocking a cage mean saving a dog, or are you allowing him out on the street knowing there’s a kill shelter nearby? if the driving anxiety behind roman is that he’s an idiot and a failure—that he’ll never amount to anything, and trying will only lead to pain—and he’s finally cut loose once all of those anxieties have crystallized into cold hard fact in his mind, what has he actually escaped from? if the cage is in your mind, is it even possible for somebody else to unlock it?
the fundamental truth of a tragedy is that even being saved can be a death sentence, if the characters are incapable of escaping the thing doing them the most harm (themselves and their childhoods)

Fun fact about me: April 18th is my birthday! :)
And part of what I wanted to do to celebrate this year was to give back. Introducing * ~ a dipplinshipping birthday oneshot ~ * :
Rating: T
Summary:
Today was Kieran's birthday, but it was the last thing that mattered to him. In fact, he vowed it would never matter to him again. Instead, he would focus on things that would keep him strong: his battling, his strategizing, and his crown as the Blueberry Champion. His sister and the Elite Four won't stop asking him random questions, though, and if anyone brings up Juliana any more than they already have since she arrived as an exchange student, he's seriously going to lose it. But...why can't he stop thinking about her? And why is everyone acting so suspicious?!
A bittersweet birthday celebration fic for anyone who's had complicated feelings about their birthday. <3
Take this as a thank you to all of those who have followed my work and/or my Tumblr blog. I wouldn't have imagined having the support of this wonderful community on my last birthday, and I can't even begin to describe how encouraged and inspired I have felt to write since finding you guys. I have never written this much for this long, consistently, and your constant feedback and comments seriously brighten my day more than Juliana brightens up Kieran, LOL. Hope you enjoy this! <333
(And yeah, this fic is the "event based idea" that this poll was about. I thought it was so funny that some of you thought it was gonna be some devastating angst LMAOOOO. That's for after TTPD releases, tysm for the bday gift Taylor.)

chan and ruon-jian are such good characters because they’re literally just these privileged teenagers living in the imperial core, summering in their beach houses, sheltered from the realities of the atrocities being committed by their own fathers. they know that their fathers are a big deal due to their military rank, but they are disturbed and off-put by even the most distant allusion to the realities of the war because they can only imagine the war in abstract terms of prestige and glory. they are two dimensional caricatures of the popular jock archetype—a white, suburban, american construction. they are completely hollow characters, lacking any substance beyond what they materially represent to azula and zuko. and isn’t that just so apt?

“Okay,” Mike echoes. “So, I was – thinking. We should sleep together."
Will, for some reason, still looks lost, but he looks cute – sweet, like that, pink cheeks and eyes wide and glossy and the slight furrow of his eyebrows like Mike has given him something outlandish.
“I,” he starts, “don’t understand.”
Mike proposes a sleepover.
Unsurprisingly, no sleeping is done.

ough I want girlsies headcanons that would make my little heart happy ❤️
girlsies my absolute beloveds, i am SO happy to provide
ritz has absolutely no idea how to do her own french braid. spot, on the other hand, is well-versed in braiding - but only on her own hair type (and jack’s, if you will join me for a second in them being siblings in some sense. i like to think they had some sort of connection in the immigration community jack grew up in). so, spot does ritz’s braid for her; she just started out doing it way too tight. it look a little while for her to get the hang of ritz’ fine hair and sensitive scalp, but now she’s got it down to a fine art. she does it half-asleep at the absolute crack of every dawn.
scope is perhaps the girliest of the brooklyn gang. she’s fascinated with makeup, with wealthy women’s fancy dresses, with vaudeville dancers’ costumes. she has vivid fantasies of at least getting to work with clothes like that someday, becoming a seamstress - a Proper one, not just a factory girl - so she can help make them, even if she’ll never be able to wear them. also, her favourite colour is light pink.
mack has the loudest laugh anyone has ever heard, and it is a full-body event. she throws her head back, cackles, knees buckling, hands grasping at anyone or anything close enough. near screams on her exhales, snorts on her inhales. oftentimes, her laugh is funnier than the joke, but god forbid the joke is told somewhere that’s meant to be quiet.
lucky used to be a factory girl. earned her nickname for coming out fully intact, all fingers and nails and hair firmly in place, and then it became some sort of prophecy. she always picks a good selling spot, always manages to miss the rain, always manages to catch something after she drops it. she leans into her luck by occasionally placing a bet with race - she hasn’t lost yet.
stray is the most sociable of the girls. she’s always happy to strike up conversation when the opportunity arises, and has Connections because of it. i’ve also decided she has a lil friendship with otto.
splint has a limb difference in her splinted/slinged arm. <3
