a question to ask your ocs I thought up this past week during work hours:

Which is most important to them; being Kind, being Correct or being Happy?

I may write a short comic about some responses my own ocs give but their different answers surprised me.

I support OC x Canon AND Reader x Canon.

If I don't like the reader x canon (like maybe they don't act like how I personally would in a situation and I can't put my mind into that mental space), I just mentally switch pronouns and such around and pretend it's an OC.

If I don't like how something's written, I either read it anyway with the understanding that the author might not be fluent in my language or assume they may just be starting out in the writing world and this is practice. Nobody gets better without some practice.

If I truly cannot read a fic for whatever reason, I leave. I don't post mean comments or judgements. Even if I read the whole thing, that does Not give one the right to be cruel. If they Ask for criticism, it Can and Should be done in a polite and useful manner. If you need to make a request such as a trigger warning tag be put in, it can be done so Politely.

I honestly don't know about other sites anymore, but AO3 has an Excludes section for a Reason. USE IT. You don't Have to read or even see fics you don't want to (provided they are tagged appropriately.. no system is perfect..)

I know I didn't say this before (and it's kinda implied), but I also support just outright OCs. No relationships whatsoever. Just an original character vibing with the canon characters and having adventures. I mean, isn't that what we all really want? We relate to characters in canon. OCs are just a character to Really relate to and be able to see how you/they could interact with canon.

Apparently Target is rethinking being anti DEI because foot traffic in their stores has been declining for like 10 weeks straight and their stock has been dropping in unison and listen, I know a lot of this is probably because consumer spending goes down in general when the economy is unstable (tarrifs, mass federal gov layoffs etc.) but I think we should just keep running boycotts of different brands to convince them that they only make money when they're woke.
