Fossil Goniatite in Matrix – Devonian Period, Erfoud Morocco, Authentic Prehistoric Specimen
A stunning and authentic Fossil Goniatite preserved in its original limestone matrix, dating to the Devonian Period, approximately 390–400 million years ago. This specimen comes from the Erfoud region of Morocco, an area renowned for its rich fossil beds and well-preserved marine invertebrates.
Goniatites are extinct ammonoid cephalopods, ancestral relatives of modern squids and octopuses. They are characterised by their tightly coiled, planispiral shells and simpler suture patterns compared to later ammonites. This fossil offers excellent detail of the shell's spiral and internal chamber structure.
Fossil Type: Ammonoid Cephalopod (Goniatite)
Geological Age: Devonian – Middle to Late Devonian (Givetian-Frasnian)
Formation: Likely Maïder Basin marine limestone beds near Erfoud
Depositional Environment: These goniatites lived in warm, shallow marine environments of the ancient Paleozoic seas. After death, their shells settled into fine carbonate sediments that later lithified into limestone. The conditions allowed for excellent preservation of both external and internal shell structures.
Morphological Features:
Tightly coiled spiral shell (planispiral)
Distinct chamber divisions (septa)
Suture lines typically simple and curved (goniatitic)
Presented in limestone matrix, sometimes with associated fauna
Notable:
Classic example of early ammonoid evolution
Attractive fossil suitable for display or study
Collected from Morocco’s famous Devonian fossil beds
Photo shows the exact item you will receive
Authenticity: All of our fossils are 100% genuine natural specimens and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Please refer to the scale image for sizing – each square or cube represents 1cm.
This Devonian Goniatite fossil from Morocco is a beautifully preserved relic of Earth’s ancient oceans and an excellent addition to any fossil collection or educational setting.

Make You Wish Chapter Four -- Vox
Pairing: Alastor x Reader
Warnings: I don't think there are any for this chapter? Correct me if I am wrong.
Word Count: 1,225
Previous Part: Chapter Three -- A Reunion

Hazbin Hotel Master List
Make You Wish Master List
A/N I wasn't planning on posting this until tomorrow, but it seems to have some rather excited fans so here is chapter four (and the fourth thing I'm publishing today. We're very done for the day. I am tried and have actual work to do.) Also guys, I'm screaming. I accidentally deleted the whole things right before I was gonna post it. Thankfully I had a draft from when it was almost done save but like, god that sucked.
Tumblr media
On the screen was Vox, seated behind a desk.
"Top of the hour and we're discussing a certain has-been how has been spotted cavorting around town after a seven year absence." Vox was saying, a poorly drawn image of Alastor displayed on the screen to his left.
Y/n saw Alastor's ear twitch with irritation.
"Yeah." she sighed, folding her arms across her chest, "Vox has gone kinda crazy since you left. I told you, things got tough."
"Did anybody miss him? Did anybody notice? More on tonight's program." Vox said through the TV, shuffling a stack of papers.
Alastor changed the channel with another flick of his finger.
"Hun, don't worry yourself with it." Y/n advised, "He's still gonna be there tomorrow."
The new channel showed a talk-show set up, Vox-2-Nite, where Vox was both host and guest.
"So, the old Radio Demon is back in town." host Vox was saying to himself as guest.
"Why is he hanging around?" guest Vox asked, taking a sip from a mug that had 'fuck Alastor' written on the side.
"Al." Y/n warned, sensing her friends irritation growing.
"What does that mean for your family?" Host Vox asked before Alastor changed the channel again.
Vox was on the screen again, before a bright red curtain.
"Well, handily, I've got good news." he was saying theatrically, "He's a loser, a fossil, and I don't mean to sound hostel-"
Alastor changed the channel again. This time to one of Vox's mega church broadcasts. Vox stood in the center of the screen wearing a pope's hat with an inverted cross on it.
"But the demon is a coward!" he announced, his words matching the previous channels sentiments perfectly.
"Jesus, V." Y/n asked, eyes wide, "How many channels are you running this on?"
"You can take that as gospel. Pulling my viewers? Impossible. I'm visual, he's barely audible."
"Y/n." Alastor hummed, his eyes still fixed on the screen.
"Yeah?"
"You wont mind if I handle this quickly. We can have our little chat after, I promise. It wont take more than a moment."
"I don't know, Al..." Y/n sighed, crossing her arms and tapping her foot slightly, "This isn't good for you, letting him get under your skin like this."
Alastor changed the channel again. A cooking show appeared and Vox was standing before the oven, singing along to the music playing in the background.
"But he should've stayed away! While he hid in radio, we pivoted to video!"
Vox on screen turned to the oven as he sang, opening it and pulling out a deer's head on a plate. Y/n bristled at the site, her horns growing just the tiniest bit longer, her teeth just the smallest bit sharper.
"And now his medium is getting bloody rare!"
"Al?" Y/n asked sharply.
"Yes, darling?"
"I lied." Y/n turned to face him, "He took this shit musical. Rip him a new one."
"Oh!" Millie exclaimed, excitedly grabbing onto Moxxie's arm, "We're gonna get a show!"
Alastor's grin widened at Y/n's words, if that was even possible. He stuck his hand out to the side, his microphone materializing in his grasp.
"Lucky for me, I've got the best voice this side of the divide on my side." he noted, shooting Y/n a look.
Her eyes flashed red.
"You flatter me."
Alastor brought his microphone to his mouth, suddenly exceedingly calm. The imps present in the room watched in shock as his ears flattened along his head.
"Salutations, good to be back on the air!" he announced into the device, "Yes I know it's been a while since someone with style treated hell to a broadcast. Sinners rejoice!"
Vox's brow furrowed on the TV screen as he inched up close to the camera.
"What a dated voice." Vox shot back, clearly listening to Alastor's broadcast on the set of his cooking show.
"Instead of a clout chasing, mediocre, video podcast." Alastor continued, not showing any sign he had noticed the TV demon's insult, "Is Vox insecure, pursuing allure? Flitting between this fad and that, is nothing working?"
"Ignore his chirping!" Vox commanded from the TV.
Y/n laughed and, turning to face Alastor, realized the man held a hand out to her. With a smile, she took it and he spun her into his arms as he spoke. The music echoed through the office as Alastor raised the volume on the TV once again.
"Every day he's got a new format."
Alastor spun Y/n back out again as the pair began dancing.
"You're looking at the future!" Vox yelled back, "He's the shit that comes before that!"
As Alastor spun Y/n back into his arms, she laid one of her hands on top of his holding the microphone and pulled it closer to her face.
"Is Vox as strong as he purports, or is it based on his support?" she sang in a clear voice, Blitzo, Millie, and Moxxie's eyes widening with recognition at the sound, "He'd be powerless without the other Vees."
"That's true!" Alastor noted, pulling the microphone back to himself as Y/n let go of his hand and he spun her back out again.
"It can't be..." Moxxie muttered under his breath.
"Holy shit!" Millie cut him off, excitement creeping into her voice, "There's no way, Y/n is the guest star?"
"The fuck are you two talking about?" Blitzo asked, turning to Millie and Moxxie as they watched the couple continue to dance.
"Well, Sir," Moxxie began, fiddling with the cuffs of his jacket, "back before the Radio Demon went missing, he used to bring guests onto the show on occasion. There was one guest he never named during his broadcasts however. She mostly just sang songs and chatted with him but, she sounded an awful lot like Y/n did just now."
"You don't say." Blitzo hummed, his arms crossed as he turned back to Y/n and Alastor, "So much for little miss 'oh, my life has been so boring. You'd probably just fall asleep if I started talking about it!' She is so gonna get it later."
Alastor let go of Y/n's hand and leaned into the microphone, beginning to sing as well, using the music emanating from the TV as a base.
"And here's the sugar on the cream: he asked me to join his team!"
"Hold on!" Vox yelled.
"I said no and now he's pissy, that's the tea!" Alastor finished, ignoring the demon once again.
"You old timey prick!" Vox exclaimed, his face glitching slightly as Y/n wandered back over to Alastor.
She leaned an elbow on his shoulder, tilting her head to the side in amusement as they watched Vox struggle.
"I'll show you suffering!"
"Aww, the TV is buffering." Y/n said, leaning into the microphone, her voice dripping with sickly sweet pity.
"I'll destroy yoo-o-u-u" Vox exclaimed as his technical difficulties seemed to grow worse.
Alastor and Y/n exchanged a wicked pair of smiles as the TV flickered out. Shadows crept from the edges of the room, encircling their feet. Alastor held an arm out to Y/n once again which she took with a smile. In a flash of darkness, they were gone.
"What the fuck was that?" Loona asked, stalking into the room.

Happy Fossil Friday! This photo is a blast from the past. Snapped circa 1959, it features a visitor admiring the iconic Stegosaurus. With its plated back, spiked tail, and tiny head, it’s one of the Museum’s most recognizable dinosaurs. This large herbivore, which lived during the Jurassic some 140 million years ago, could reach lengths of more than 28 feet (8.5 meters).
This armored dinosaur likely used the distinctive plates along its back for display, to attract mates, or signal its own species. Fossils of stegosaur plates are criss-crossed with grooves for blood vessels, indicating that they were covered with skin or keratin (the material in your fingernails) when the animal was alive.
See Stegosaurus up close in the Museum’s Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs! We’re open daily from 10 am-5:30 pm. Plan your visit!

Alright but consider a magician who can control all variety of animals; Something about them seems off. They move and act too perfectly. You realize they don't actually breathe or blink. They don't sleep or eat. You touch one and it feels quite cold.
And then you realize; It's taxidermy. They're all taxidermied creatures brought back to 'life' via necromancy. An issue many necromancers have to contend with is decay; Their resurrected zombies and skeletons can often fall apart within weeks, if not days. Some spells slow down this process, but it's often advisable to find some way of 'preserving' the corpse.
Consider a taxidermy necromancer who prefers their minions in top condition, indistinguishable from life; For the most part. No diseases or stench, nothing like that. If they want to control something, they make sure to carefully kill it before submitting its corpse through the painstaking taxidermy process, and once it's preserved, only then can they reanimate it.
They take offense when you damage their collection, given how much work went into each one and ensuring it’s both presentable and lasting; Not just some impromptu scavenged corpse to discard later on! What if this went hand in hand with someone who couldn’t cope with the loss of a loved one, and ‘brought them back’ this way?
Imagine people who are taxidermied, acting as uncanny mimics to impersonate the real deal; It's the original body but without the soul. Imagine a museum display of bodies submitted for plastination, brought back to life and breaking through their display cases. They creak and stumble from their bodies being hardened but are in some ways more durable for it. Imagine fossils and taxidermied creatures being rallied together; A museum is a handy source for 'sustainable' necromancy, isn't it? If not, there's always a hospital's morgue.
Depending on how far necromancy can go, what if someone reanimated the very meal on a plate? It would be quite the fright to see one's fried chicken meal, or a freshly-boiled lobster, spring to life as if nothing happened. What if they could reanimate the creature while it's inside of your stomach to tear you apart from within, could even a fillet count? How much does dead matter have to be ground up to be beyond magic's control? Things like that would easily push someone into vegetarianism.
And what of necromancy for plants? Fungi? Imagine your table coming to attack you, or all the broken debris at the bottom of a forest bundling together into some great monster. A dead tree erupts from the roots, freshly-cut flowers offered as tribute now writhe. Black mold cleared from your nooks and crannies swarms towards you.
Necromancy is scary stuff; Usually it's only the living you have to worry about, once it's dead you're clear. But now it's only the living you can count on, relatively speaking; And they can still be a danger. It's ghosts coming back to haunt you. And it can remind a person that in the end, a lot of stuff exists in a constant cycle of life and death, and the boundaries between these can be quite blurred when you remember each feeds the other, and is comprised of them.

i don't remember if i ever asked this or just imagined asking this but what's your favorite dinosaur? or maybe more than just one...
Hi!! I don’t believe you’ve asked yet but honestly it could’ve been lost in the sea of my inbox :))) This is possibly the most loaded and exciting question to ask me so I’m going to split this into a couple of my favourite dinosaurs and a couple of my favourite fossils.
To start my number one dinosaur is the Tyrannosaurus Rex, I think she’s the most fascinating and wonderful animal to ever exist. Aside from my love of Jurassic Park as a kid I remember visiting my local museum and seeing their trex skeleton on display and being flooded with so much admiration and awe, it’s just one of the most beautiful things in the world to look at. It really solidified to me how much of a privilege it is to gaze upon something that lived millions of years ago right in front of my face, cast or not. Also look at her she’s so gorgeous.
Tumblr media
The other two favourite dinosaurs I’ll mention is the Utahraptor and the Brachiosaurus. Utahraptors are the biggest species of raptor we know of (aside from a few fossilized outliers we only have a few bones of), their size and mobility would’ve made them such formidable predators and now that we know they were covered in feathers it just paints a horrifying picture.
Tumblr media
Just look at this, like what the fuck do you mean these things existed and they had necks longer than a fucking school bus??? What the fuuuuck. Also I love the theory that their skin on their neck hangs loosely like turkey wattles and caruncles.
Tumblr media
My favourite fossils normally have a criteria they fit into which is fossils that have led to groundbreaking discoveries. There are so many I love that are iconic like the Triassic cuddle and the Brachiosaurus puke crater but I’ll cut it down to four (whoops).
My favourite of all time is the one I use as my header, which is this Microraptor fossil. It’s my favourite because of the feather imprinting left behind in the rock, it’s so prominent and helped us discover that microraptors had four wings instead of two. Feather structures being preserved in rock is such a rarity, we got really lucky with this one. Also just look at it, it’s like an angel.
Tumblr media
The next is Borealopelta, the most well preserved armoured dinosaur in the entire world, found in my province in 2011. The fact that you can see its skin, nostrils, eyes, etc is absolutely fucking astounding, we actually know what this dinosaur PHYSICALLY looked like because of how well preserved it is. When I finally go to see it in real life at the museum here in my province I will cry.
Tumblr media
This is Sinosauropteryx, a really tiny coelurosaurian theropod. The way it was preserved allows us to see that it actually had a feather pattern on its tail just like a fucking lemur?? Like what the fuck do you mean this guy was out there chilling with the most awesome orange and white feather pattern ever and two plates of earth perfectly smushed him so we could see it? Wild.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, this fossil doesn’t have any particularly (recent) groundbreaking discoveries associated with it but it is is tattooed on my left bicep. This is the Smilodon :) I have always loved kitties and the fact that a kitty with such huge teeth used to exist is so awesome to me, also it’s a really good looking tattoo.
Tumblr media
Okay I have so many more favourites but this is an embarrassingly long answer to such a simple question so I’m gonna stop here. Thank you very much for asking this, paleontology is a really wonderful and fascinating field and I will talk about it literally forever if you let me.

Random worldbuilding thought. Dwarves that develop a crust of calcium and stone over their skin as they age. They are born as squishy as humans, but become fully firm by the time they are mature. Kind of like an exoskeleton, it's made partially from minerals they consume and so dwarves from different areas have different coloration and texture depending on what kinds of rocks and metals they eat.
The crust keeps developing as the dwarf ages. During their middle years it's a sturdy suit of armor, but an elderly dwarf has trouble moving as the smaller plates around their joints grow and fuse. Can also grow over their eyes and cause other medical issues. It's standard for dwarves to regularly chisel or break off areas to maintain mobility or reduce the weight.
A dwarf that dies of old age essentially becomes a statue. The process also continues after death, effectively fossilizing dwarves so even those that die young appear to be entirely made of stone after a year or so.
Accordingly, famous dwarves are simply displayed as statues in public places, and dwarven tombs are somewhat reminiscent of the rows of Chinese terracotta warriors, generations of a family lined up together. If you broke the statue open, you'd find the fossilized bones inside, which often become more like crystal or opal after death.
If a dwarf had enough metal in their diet, their remains might even be suitable as ore to be processed and forged, so many prominent dwarven families have heirloom weapons made from the remains of their progenitors.

Colorful Clays of the Painted Hills area
Tumblr media
The Painted Hills are one of the most popular and well-known of Oregon's scenic treasures. The towering ridges of yellow, red, and black clays reveal part of the complex geologic story of Oregon when the area was a tropical rainforest, or a hardwood temperate forest, or a volcanic hellscape at different times. The different bands and layers are folded, warped, and faulted by complex plate tectonics. Here though, at Painted Cove just behind the main Painted Hills viewpoint, the story is just a little different.
Tumblr media
Painted Cove is a couple of shallow gullies linked in a loop by a boardwalk and trail. In here, you pass through areas of bold red and yellow clays before reaching a gully flanked with a light purple rock. The light purple is of a completely different origin than the clays, which are effectively fossilized soil layers.
Tumblr media
This is a weathered outcrop of rhyolite lava, a lava composition that is mostly quartz by mass. This area grades from purple to brown to red. This is an actual preserved soil horizon. If you dig a hole, you go through different soil horizons - or chemical and physical conditions - before you reach bedrock. Commonly these are O (for organic-rich), A, B, and C. B and C are closest to bedrock and include chunks of weathered, eroded source rock. Here, the purple is that C horizon, then the brown layer is B, and the red is an A horizon mantling the rhyolite lava flow. This whole stack of soil is somewhere around 25 million years old!
Tumblr media
This is one of my favorite rock outcrops in all of Oregon because of how elegantly and simply it displays soil development processes from more than 25 million years ago!
(A note for other geologists: my soil horizon analogy isn't completely accurate since these paleosols have different classifications than regular young soils do, and I'm not very well-versed in those at all)
If you're in to photography, these are (with the exception of the 2nd to last shot) shot on Fuji Color 400 with my Nikon FM2.

Hyper-Species Database Entry #001 | Gojira Serizawaii (“Godzilla”)
Tumblr media
Species: Gojira serizawaii (Godzilla)
Title: The God of Destruction
First Modern Sighting: August 9, 1945
Temporal Range: 245-0 Ma
Height: 125.67 Metres
Weight: 132,053.47 Tonnes
Category: 0
The true apex predator of Earth’s entire global ecosystem, Gojira are a colossal species of highly derived semi-aquatic hyper-faunal synapsids from an era long-forgotten by humanity. Fossil evidence points towards a split from early gorgonopsid species in the Middle Permian of South Africa before reaching its current form in the Anisian stage of the Middle Triassic Epoch. Throughout the evolution process of the Godzilla species, its ancestors had somehow acquired G-cells and had subsequently begun to immigrate into radioactive deep-sea trenches. Over time this led to the development of large dorsal plates along the animals' spines. These leaf-like structures serve the function of absorbing sunlight and radiation from the surrounding area and converting it into “G-Radiation”, a specialized form of radiation that the species uses both to fuel itself and to power specialized abilities. The radiation can be carried throughout the body through large vein-like structures beneath the skin. This radiation is primarily stored in numerous small chambers along the back and the tail of the creature. Additionally, the plates form a crystal-like structure on the end of the creature’s tail that seems to also be capable of releasing excess radiation. Water from the gills is also filtered and used to cool the main reaction chamber. This system is referred to as the “nuclear system” and functions similarly to a nuclear reactor, creating energy with no need for food. Though the young need to eat quite often to supplement growth, it is common for the species to eat the remains of adversaries they have killed. In addition to gills, the animals also have lungs making them fully capable of surviving in any of Earth’s various environments. The lungs are connected to an additional sac used to store hydrogen for specialised defensive and offensive capabilities. The species also seems to be able to quickly adapt to new opponents as new structures form and change in short periods when faced with stress. This causes the species to be both highly unpredictable and it is likely why they’ve become so successful. Gojira even seems to be able to adapt to new forms of radiation and even DNA further modifying themselves beyond what any other known species is capable of. But these are not the only unique features of Godzilla’s body. To successfully pump blood throughout their entire body, the species has a total of three hearts, one is located in the chest, waist, and tail. This allows the species to keep a constant steady blood flow, though the veins are insanely durable as it is needed to balance the pressure from three hearts. Gojira also have a second, smaller brain located between their hips. This brain serves the purpose of controlling the movement of the tail and regulating cooling within the body.
Godzilla are believed to be among the most intelligent of all species on Earth, showing clear signs of both sentience and sapience. The species seems to be fairly expressive with their display of emotions, changes in posture, muscle tone, gait, facial expressions, vocalizations, pupil dilation, and even bioluminescence displays have been observed to occur. Evidence even points towards some level of understanding of other species as well as basic cross-species communication, though the species does seem to be somewhat antisocial and will not interact with others unless there is no other option. Gojira also seems to retain a high intellect with the ability to predict and interpret the actions of others, as well as showing an understanding of cause and effect and a relatively high level of problem-solving skills.
As with most kaiju, the scales of the Godzilla species are impenetrable to conventional weaponry, with typically only other kaiju or specially-made anti-kaiju weaponry able to do any damage to it. They are also resistant to nuclear weapons due to their atomic nature. Weapons made from the metal cadmium have been shown to at least serve as effective deterrents or methods of exhausting the daikaiju, though research is inconclusive as to the extent of this weakness and it varies between members of the species, especially if they had adapted due to a prior experience with the metal. In addition to the extreme defensive capabilities, Gojira also boast an intense regenerative ability, being able to recover from near-fatal wounds in only two months. Godzilla’s species have incredibly powerful legs as well as a long developed tail for locomotion, balance, and combat. The species is shown to be highly capable of travel both on land and in water with a max running speed estimated to be 250 KPH and a max swimming speed of 65 knots per hour. The tail can be used effectively as a whip against opponents and sports a sharp modified dorsal near the end capable of tearing through flesh with ease. The species also has incredibly powerful jaws and arms that allow for easy close combat. In addition to these physical abilities, the species also has a variety of more specialized abilities including the following:
Atomic Breath: G-radiation stored in the body runs through the vein structures into the back of the throat where it combines with hydrogen from a specially developed hydrogen sac above the lungs creating a devastating spiral of burning plasma capable of cutting through entire cities, other daikaiju, and even mountainsides with ease.
Nuclear Pulse: G-radiation is quickly expelled from several openings in the body in a large bubble and explodes, causing anything in the surrounding area to be reduced to mere atoms.
Tail Beam: Similar to the Atomic Breath, radiation is fired into the end of the tail and combines with hydrogen, creating a highly focused beam of destruction.
Fission Punch: G-radiation is sent to the fist during a punch and creates explosions and shockwaves upon impact.
More Age of Monsters is on the way soon, so I hope this repost with an updated format will raise your anticipation for the next entry!

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ。゚ ⊹ㅤtighnari !ㅤ
he doesn't mind spending the day with you however you'd like, he's not picky. most of the time, he insists you decide, but if you instead give him the decision to make, he will not be able to resist a botanical garden date. — and now that you two are here, he just hopes you're enjoying as much as him.
"you seem to like the flora." he smiled at you, observing the way your eyes wandered over each type of flower on display. "say, love, i've always wanted to hear about your interest in botany," you turned to him, meeting his gradient pupils as he hums.
"are you certain of that, love ? while i don't mind sharing with you my stocked-up knowledge of plants alike, as a matter of fact, i would love to share with you. but, most prefer to enjoy these types of places in serenity." he explains, his eyes examining the provided descriptions of each flora. "i would love to hear you talk all day, besides, the font they used for the descriptions are barely intelligible." and laughter resounded from the two of you.
"fair point, very fair point." he agreed through short laughs, lifting a leaf away from one of the plates that provided the description. "well to start off, i hope you know what these flowers are." he starts, waving his hand out in front of a bush of pink petalled flowers. "glaze lilies, they're symbolic in liyue harbor, along the gardens of yujing terrace." "correct. so you have your knack of knowledge too." "only surface level !"

him and the former are rather on the same page, he's not picky with spending the day with you either. hell, just eating take out with you on the sofa in his apartment while watching a movie is enough for him to consider a date night.
but, he's always wanted to take you to an archaeological museum. he felt the strong urge one day to just dedicate an empty journal to writing out a to-do list of things he wants to experience with you, which he would excuse as "it would be like documenting my love life, which is sort of research if you think about it really hard." — and taking you to that archaeology date is number 1 on said list.
so imagine his surprise when you were telling him the directions to the particular museum he had written down in that journal. "there's this museum i heard of nearby, full of archaeological stuff like fossils, artifacts and all those trinkets." you rambled as he drove the car beside you, noticing the way he perked up at the topic. you smiled to yourself,
"and you know, i saw it in your to-do list. so i decided to set a date for us there !" perfectly timed at a stop light, he turned to you. "really . . ?" there was a light of excitement in his eyes, and you couldn't help but smile. "really !" "oh, darling, you didn't have to." you watched the smile tug at your boyfriend's lips as he looked at you, and you could see him melt. "hey, don't thank me yet ! get us to the museum first !" he laughed, "of course, of course."

#Archovember Day 12 - Miragaia longicollum
In the Late Jurassic of Portugal lived a peculiarly long-necked stegosaur, Miragaia longicollum. Miragaia had at least 17 vertebrae in its neck, more than most sauropods! Its fossil was found during the construction of a new road and, unfortunately, the back half of the skeleton was likely destroyed in the process. 13 bony plates and one tail spike were found scattered, so Miragaia’s plate and spike configuration is mostly unknown. Still, its long neck is a distinguishing feature that sets it apart from any other known stegosaur.
Tumblr media
Miragaia was long, graceful, large, but more lightweight than most other stegosaurs, at an estimated 2 metric tons (2.2 short tons). Its long neck could have been a means to browse at levels other herbivores weren’t exploiting, and/or it arose due to sexual selection and was used for display. Like other stegosaurs, it may have also been able to stand on its hind legs to reach even higher levels of browse.
Late Jurassic Portugal in many ways mimicked the Morrison Formation of Wyoming, USA. Miragaia would have lived alongside other stegosaurs like its close relative Dacentrurus. It would have also shared space with the ankylosaur Dracopelta, early ornithopods like Draconyx and Dryosaurus, and sauropods like Lourinhasaurus and Lusotitan. It would have been hunted by the European Allosaur, Allosaurus europaeus, and the European Torvosaur, Torvosaurus gurneyi, as well as other theropods like Lourinhanosaurus.
(I previously made my Dacentrurus purple on a whim, so I just decided to follow that trend with Miragaia here. All my stegosaurs are pink or purple lol)

TELL ME ABOUT THE AKATSUKI 90S HEIST AU RIGHT MEOW :sakuguncat:
WELL OKAY IF YOU INSEEST
So, it's exactly what it sounds like XD Pain is putting together a very specific crew to pull off a massive heist (we are stealing from Danzo y'all). It's set in the 90's because I don't want to deal with accounting for modern security technology, I just want heist shenanigans. Also, the 90's are just fun.
The opening is just kind of an introduction of all the members and their roles for this particular job. (I watched a lot of heist things for this). Anyway, I'll share Kakuzu's bit for youuuu (SHOCKINGLY NOT KAKUHIDA--I am thinking KakuKonan for this but idk yet, I'll have to see how it plays out)
“Hidan…” the monstrously large man beside him growled, his voice even rougher than his disposition. It wasn’t scolding, it was warning.
That was Kakuzu. The two were kind of a package deal. Where Kakuzu went, Hidan followed. You’d think given something like that, there was some fondness between them.
Yeah, that wasn’t it.
Hidan left something to be desired for Kakuzu on most levels. He was always missing two things at any given point—a shirt and a fucking brain. Most levels though. Not all.
The guy could take a hit, take it and take it well. He had more plates and screws in his body than any human ought to. Too many nerve endings dulled over his years of brawling—being broken and getting ‘fixed’—that he couldn’t feel a fucking thing anymore. That kinda thing came in useful in a fight.
Not to mention, he didn’t mind getting his hands dirty. In fact, he didn’t mind getting them downright filthy.
He liked it.
Turning faces into something resembling your grandma’s homemade jam was quite possibly the only thing he was good at, but damn, was he good at it.
His partner would do it if he had to, but with Hidan, well, Kakuzu never really had to. He was too old for that shit anyway. He wasn’t such a fossil that he’d lost his impressively overbearing physique, but muscle was easy to find.
Expertise and experience? Now that was a scarcity in high demand.
Most people didn’t stay in the game as long as Kakuzu had, they either died out or dipped out. So if you had your sights on a big enough mark, enough to pay for Kakuzu’s name-brand assistance, you knew you were getting the real deal.
And Kakuzu was all about a deal. That suitcase next to him? The one that looked like it might be filled with guns? Yeah, it wasn’t. If you opened it, you’d find the most meticulously clipped and organized display of coupons and vouchers you could possibly imagine. No bullshit.
No one dared say a word about it though. No one still alive, anyway.
Anything to save buck, which brings us right back to Hidan. That guy seemed plenty content to be paid in sex, violence and bbq spare ribs. A few loose, bloodied teeth scattered across the asphalt was like a fucking tip to him.
Most people were in ‘the life’ for the money. Hidan genuinely just enjoyed it. Fucking mental, that one.
Because of this, Kakuzu found their partnership to be quite lucrative, thus, Hidan became much more tolerable. Even so, “much more tolerable” was still barely passing for Hidan, who constantly rode the line in such a way that threatened to grate on Kakuzu’s deepest nerves.
Maybe Hidan managed to grind him numb, because Kakuzu kept him around anyway.
Hidan glanced over at his partner, uncrossing just one of his arms to raise a one-fingered salute. Still tipping back on the old, rusted chair legs, he slipped for a brief second, caught himself, and flashed Kakuzu a cocky grin, still flipping him off.
Kakuzu wouldn’t appease Hidan with the reaction he craved. He stared for a moment, nonplussed, glancing at that idiotic tattoo wrapping around the moron’s neck. A thin dotted line and a small bit of text that said “cut here”. Kakuzu hated that damn thing, it was far too tempting.
He simply faced forward and stared at Pain once more. Hidan scoffed.
Things were going well so far.
“Right,” Pain said, thinking he ought to move things along. He could see Deidara was getting antsy.

How Can You Sleep At Night?
May 4, 2025
3 AM: the mirror splinters into a parliament of crows, each shard a verdict. You glide through rooms like Saturn, frost-rimmed orbits gleaming, while I scavenge constellations from the embers of my fraying tapestry.
How can you sleep at night? You, who turned bridges to tinder, struck a match, and swore the smoke was April’s bloom. I am the phoenix pyre, you are the spark— how can you breathe in this ashen dark?
I swallowed every script—crumple, fade, erase— and folded myself into a paper lantern, thin as faith.
You crowned yourself with gilt-plated lies, my ovations fueling your hollow empire. Now my silence ticks like a clockwork of neglect.
How can you sleep at night? You, who siphon daylight, who cracked the sky’s spine till the equator snapped. Who mistook my bones for kindling, my voice for echoes.
I am the scar, you are the surgery— how can you dream while my blood stains the ledger?
They sold me your love as scripture, so I carved my ribs into a cathedral. Shipwrecked bones; my voice, a moth-gnawed psalm. You snore through tempests
I navigate blind, your flaws silt beneath the floorboards, while I solve tectonic algebra in the ceiling’s cracks.
How can you sleep at night? You, who loot constellations to line your pockets, who branded my wildfire “arson” in your court.
I am the shadow, you are the eclipse You built a labyrinth inside my chest corridors of apologies I never spoke. Your laughter, a symphony of static; my pulse, the metronome you broke.
Dawn arrives, but you’ve already erased
the night’s debris. I sweep the fossils of your grace. The moon carves my skin into origami— cranes that never flew, vows that never landed.
You collect my quiet like taxidermy, display it as proof I never demanded a single star. But the sky’s a blackened vault, and I’m the interest compounding in the fault.
How can you sleep at night? You, who weaponized the tides, who drained my ocean. The bed sags with the weight of unsung wars, your side pristine, mine cratered like the moon.
You’ve hung my love in gilded metaphor, framed my collapse as a tragic tune. But I’ve burned the sheet music.
The ash? A start.
How can you sleep at night?
You never learned the art.
