[ 📹 Scenes from the burned bodies of a Palestinian family after an attack by the Zionist occupation army, killing the father and six other family members and severely burning the mother and her four children, the sickening result of an American-made bomb being dropped on their family home.
📈 The current death toll in "Israel's" Special Genocide Operation in Gaza has now reached 33'137 killed and another 75'815 injuries.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏠💥🚑 🚨
MURDERS SLOW BUT DON'T STOP ON 183RD DAY OF "ISRAEL'S" SPECIAL GENOCIDE OPERATION IN GAZA
On the 183rd day of "Israel's" Special Genocide Operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 4 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 46 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, while another 65 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.
A number of victims of Israeli bombings remain buried under the rubble of their homes and shelters, while corpses still line many streets as the occupation army continues to block ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching the sites of Israeli attacks.
In a report today, published in the American newspaper the Wall Street Journal, the news outlet said that the Biden administration is pushing the Zionist entity to accept one of the sticking points in negotiations with the Hamas resistance movement, the return of Palestinians to the northern Gaza Strip who've been displaced by the Israeli aggression.
This has been one of the main demands from Hamas in the negotiations, with the others being the withdrawal of Zionist forces from Gaza and the free flow of Humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave.
According to the report, the Biden administration asked that the Israeli entity's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, allow a limited number of women and children to return to the north of Gaza, while continuing to block men between the ages of 18-50 from returning.
The newspaper said this would "allay American fears of an Israeli attack on the southern city of Rafah," essentially permitting a planned Israeli ground offensive in the area. More than 1.4 million displaced Palestinians have crowded into Rafah, a city of only 171'000 prior to October 7th, 2023, stretching the city's resources thin and helping to spread disease while under starvation conditions.
According to Arab negotiators mediating the talks, the Israeli entity has said it could accept the return of civilians to northern Gaza at a rate of just 2'000 people per day, as long as those returning are women and children, and with a cap of no more than 60'000 Palestinians allowed back to their utterly destroyed homes.
However, with the continued blocking of basic materials like concrete, and no men allowed to return, where the 60'000 Palestinian civilians would live seems an open question.
Hamas, for its part, according to a CNN report, rejected the idea of only allowing 60'000 women and children to return to the north. An unnamed diplomat involved in the negotiations told CNN that "They rejected (the proposal) and considered that it ignored their demands,” adding that the Israeli proposal "did not include anything new," and therefore the movement does not "see any need to change its proposal."
Meanwhile, the Zionist bombing and shelling campaign responsible for so many tens of thousands of civilian casualties over the previous six months has slowed since the recent massacre of 7 foreign aid workers in a series of targeted drone strikes back-to-back with a second atrocity, and a blatant war crime, when Zionist forces bombed the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the Syrian capital, but has yet to stop despite heavy international pressure, including some limited pressure put on the Netanyahu regime by the Americans.
In a recent letter sent to the American President, signed onto by the House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, dozens of Congressional Democrats urged U.S. President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinkin to withhold arms transfers to the Israeli regime until a full investigation can be held and completed into the slaughter of the 7 foreign aid workers.
The letter was issued by U.S. Congressmembers Mark Pocan, Jim McGovern and Jan Schakowski and signed by 40 other lawmakers, including Pelosi, many of whom are considered staunch supporters of the Israeli entity.
According to a report about the letter, frustration has been mounting among House Democrats for months as the Netanyahu regime prosecuted its deadly Special Genocide Operation in Gaza, slaughtering tens of thousands of civilians, including over 14'000 children who've been killed since the start of the war.
However, Tuesday's deadly strike on the World Central Kitchen (WCK) personnel as they finished unloading many tons of humanitarian aid into a distribution warehouse in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, and bombed as they were leaving the city, has shook many lawmakers and their aides, many of whom believe the attack to be a turning point in U.S. support for the Israeli regime's genocide campaign.
Even some lawmakers who've refrained from criticizing "Israel" until now have since begun to call for a ceasefire, and some even signed onto the letter issued to the Biden administration, such as U.S. Congressmember Chris Coons, who came out on Thursday in favor of placing restrictions and conditions on American military aid to "Israel".
Meanwhile, the bombing and shelling in Gaza continued, albeit at a slower rate than before Tuesday's attacks on the WCK convoy, the Israeli occupation artillery forces shelled Al-Sika Street in the southeast of Gaza City, and also shelled Beit Hanoun, both in the northern Gaza Strip.
Zionist forces also fired artillery and live bullets at high intensity towards residential neighborhoods in southwestern Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
At the same time, the occupation army targeted several residential homes in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, along with the Al-Sabra neighborhood in central Gaza City, and also the Tal al-Hawa and Sheikh Ajlin neighborhoods southwest of Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of three Palestinian civilians, and wounding at least 10 others. Many of whom were transferred to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.
Similarly, Zionist occupation forces fired artillery shells towards neighborhoods in the southwest of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, while occupation forces also shelled the the central and western areas of the city as well.
IOF warplanes bombed several residential homes and buildings in the Al-Amal neighborhood west of Khan Yunis, while at the same time, live bullets fired by a Zionist sniper stationed on the border fence east of Al-Fukhari, located east of Khan Yunis, critically wounded one female Palestinian civilian.
The Zionist aggression continued when Israeli occupation soldiers detonated multiple residential homes in the northern areas of Al-Mughraqa, north of Al-Nuseirat, in the central Gaza Strip, while Paramedic crews recovered the corpses two martyrs in the same city while under the continuous artillery shelling of the occupation army.
In another Israeli war crime, Zionist warplanes bombed the Al-Sharafa family home, located in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip, killing and wounding three displaced Palestinians sheltering in the building at the time.
Simultaneously, Zionist gunboats "intermittently" shelled the shores of Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza, where children and families often gather to enjoy the beach, even as the Israeli genocide has unfolded.
In yet another violation of International humanitarian law, occupation soldiers fired live bullets at Palestinian civilians gathered at the Al-Kuwaiti roundabout, south of Gaza City, at the intersection of Salah al-Din Street and Street 10, wounding at least 7 civilians who were transferred to Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Zionist forces also bombarded a residential home belonging to the Mansour family in Jabalia al-Balad, in the north of Gaza, killing a number of Palestinian civilians, while occupation artillery fire also concentrated on the east of the Jabalia area.
As a result of "Israel's" Special Genocide Operation in the Gaza Strip, the death toll among Palestinians has now risen in excess of 33'137 citizens killed, over 14'350 of which being children, while another 75'815 Palestinians have been wounded, and yet another 7'000 remain missing under the rubble of their homes since the start of the Zionist aggression on Gaza beginning on October 7th, 2023.

To the anon who wrote me about the bodies...
If you have an issue with bodies being held hostage, you should hold accountable the party that introduced that element to the Israeli-Arab conflict. That would be Egypt, back in 1954. The Syrians have also followed suit since 1965.
Hamas and Hezbollah have taken this one step further, intentionally keeping Israel in the dark over whether those that these terrorists are holding hostage are alive or dead. Case in point, on Oct 7, 2000 Hezbollah murdered and kidnapped the bodies of 3 Israeli soldiers. The IDF was able to confirm by the next day that the soldiers were all at the very least wounded during the kidnapping. In June 2001, it turned out the UN had material about the kidnapping, that it did not share with Israel, despite its obligation to do so. On Oct 29, 2001 (a year after the kidnapping), Israel was able to announce the 3 soldiers had been murdered. Hezbollah continued to lie about it even after the confirmation. I don't remember at which point it was exactly, but I remember that Hezbollah released a pic that was supposed to be these soldiers alive. I remember that by this point, while the announcement that the soldiers are dead wasn't official yet, it was pretty clear they were, and I remember thinking how cruel Hezbollah was to intentionally torment the families with false hope. A similar thing happened again on Jul 12, 2006, when Hezbollah killed 5 Israeli soldiers, and then kidnapped the bodies of 2 of them. The terrorists lied about it. So imagine the shock and pain the families experienced, when a hostage deal was conducted in Jul 2008, and after two years of hoping and waiting, they got bodies instead of to be reunited with their living loved ones.
Currently, Hamas has been holding the bodies of Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul since 2014. For over 9 years. For over 9 years, their families can't hold a funeral, and they get no closure.
And this one's maybe the most important point regarding the part of my post you quoted. Hamas isn't just holding the bodies hostage. Israel and Hamas agreed on the release of women and kids, and Israel made it clear it will not make any hostage deals, before all the living women and children are back in Israel, safe and sound. Intel shows Hamas is still holding at least 19 living women that it could release. That's... taking into account that the Bibas family, with 4 years old Ariel, and baby Kfir, might have been killed. Even then, Hamas could easily stick to the deal, and release the women it's holding, who are alive. Hamas is intentionally trying to force Israel to take dead bodies instead, while having to release living convicted terrorists in exchange, based on the current deal, which was made to free living women and kids. We know that statistically speaking, roughly 60% of released Palestinian terrorists return to terrorist activity, and attempt to murder again. That means Hamas is trying to force Israel's hand, to put the lives of even more Israelis on the line, without even getting our living hostages in return.
Hadar Goldin:
Tumblr media
Oron Shaul:
Tumblr media
Hamas is now holding the bodies of at least 6 murdered Israeli civilians. Most are old men and women. Possibly the bodies of a child and a baby. They're not soldiers. They're def not terrorists, who chose to try and carry out the murder of civilians. Here are their faces:
Tumblr media
And that's not counting the bodies of our soldiers. We know Hamas is holding the kidnapped bodies of at least 3 of them. I just wanna remind you, most Israeli soldiers do not choose the army as a career. Their service is mandatory, and is a result of the on going terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, which started before there even was a State of Israel, when the terrorist attacks were simply on Jews. Our soldiers, are mostly young people, they're our 19 and 20 years old kids, called to defend our 3 and 10 and 12 years old kids. They're human beings, too. They deserve burial, and their families deserve closure as well.
Tumblr media
So how would you suggest Israel deals with this kind of inhumane depravity? What is it that we're allowed to do, when we're trying to get back the bodies, restore the dignity of our dead, and stop the torment of our grieving families and friends?

What's the difference between a Shia & Sunni? And why do they hate each others? (I'm an atheist so I don't know shit about religions)
Keep in mind that this is no way trying to shame or denounce my Sunni siblings, but I do believe it's important to highlight a historical fact and how it's detrimental to the current geopolitical situation, since we're embittered by historical events, while at the face of imperalism and colonialism.
Shi'as are a political group of people who iunitially held that Ali (a), the cousin of Muhammed (pbuh&hf) was the successor of the Prophet. This is evident in numerous hadiths, such as Hadith Ghadeer Khumm, the Hadith of Mubahila and the Hadith at Thaqalayn. Nevertheless, the issue steems from the incident at Saqifa, which was a council met by some companions by the Prophet, who held an abrupt meeting, discussing who'd lead the Muslim nation following the Prophet's death. The meeting was held without consulting Ali (a) and they chose Abu Bakr to become the caliph. As a result, Ali (a) did nor approve of the selection and did not pledge his allegience to Abu Bakr. the incident at Saqifa serves as a catalyst to the incidents that would befall the Muslim community, such as Fatimah's (a) miscarriage and the subsequent wars against Ali (a) by some of the Prophet's companions, Ali (a) and his sons Hassan (a) and Hussain's (a) martyrdom.
This caused the rift in the nascent Islamic community, the Shi'as were any Muslim who held that Ali (a) was the successor by divine right, and swore their allegience to Ali (a), while the rest of the Muslims were nonpartisans. Sunni Islam is the standardization of Islamic scholastic and jurisdictional opinions which were formed in the Abbasid caliph. So it's errounous to assume that there was a split between Sunnis and Shi'as, when Sunni Islam was formed a few centuries later.
The reason for the hate is because of fundamentalist attitudes toward Shi'as. Some Sunnis and Salafis believe that Shi'a Muslims are heretics, because of their veneration of saints and the importance of Shrine visitations, the other reason is because Shi'a Muslims practice the doctrine of dissociation, which is the belief that any of the enemies of the Prophet's household should be cursed, thus some of the personalites of the Sunnis are cursed by Shi'as. Ancient scholars, suchs as Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Qayyim placed some fatwas declaring Shi'a Muslims to be heretics. These scholars' opinions are still popular today and used as pretext for prejudice against Shi'as.
In a geopolitical context, Iran is often considered to be rivaling power to Saudi Arabia's Wahhabism, and have often threatened the Saudi hegemony. Because of the Axis of resistance and their growing influence in the SWANA region, the Gulf States have attempted at all cost to undermine the growing sympathy for Shi'as. Bahrain is upholding an apartheid against it's Shi'i majority, The Saudi refuses to ackowledge the Shi'i Houthis in Yemen, but supported the Hadi government, thus imposing a devastating blockade. The Iraqi war saw the Shi'as gain power, while the Sunnis were often a disenfranchised group following the Blackwater massacre, which contributed the rise of various militias and terrorist groups, such as ISIS. While in the Syrian Civil War, Shi'as mostly made up the bulk of resistance fighters that sided with Assad against the Free Syrian army and Salafi Islamist groups, such as, Tahrir al-Sham, Jaysh al-Sunnah, Islamic front, Ahrar al-Sham and etc. These have contributed to the increase of tension between Sunnis and Shi'as. However, the fight against Israel have united Muslims, but the biggest obstacle the Muslim community must get through are the Salafist and Wahhabi clerics, espousing tayyafiyah (sectarianism)

Just saw some news channel fawning over the Wagner group PMC for its ongoing mutiny.
Something has to be made clear in light of these events.
Starting now!
Let’s just remind everyone here that Putin’s govt and the Wagner group are both as bad as each other.
They’re both a shower of irredeemable swine.
The Wagner group are NOT heroes. They are murderers and beasts who kill for cash. You know. Mercenaries!
Or to put it another way. FUCKING MURDERERS!
Bastards!
Shitheads!
Pigs!
They are only doing this for themselves.
I’ve known about them and their fuckery since before this putrid invasion even began.
They are NOT good people in any way! They are killers and rapists!
They’re no better than any other mercenary groups like Blackwater, SADAT International (who have been sending Syrian mercenaries to help Azerbaijan in its ongoing genocidal rampage against Armenia (including Artsakh!)), and others.
I’d say they’re worse because they’re a shower of Neo-Nazi thugs and terrorists.
Their mutiny doesn’t change the fact that they’ve been murdering children and civilians in Libya, Ukraine and Syria.
Same for the Russian army.
So please stop sucking up!
Feel free to reblog this.

hi, sorry if you don't want to/don't have an answer for this, but i figured i'd try to ask since you're making all these posts abt hezbollah and i am pretty ignorant abt them. i have read abt hamas for example and feel like i have a (relatively well-founded) position of support towards them, as well as the palestinian resistance in general, which ik includes hezbollah. however the other day i went to a pro palestine rally and there was a guy with a hezbollah flag there (there were other flags also, obvs palestinian ones, also pflp ones) and a syrian woman i know (a refugee, i live in a european country) asked him to please put it away bc they kill her people every day (her words). he refused and started arguing with her and she ended up crying and really upset and i supported her and gave her a hug but tbh i am profoundly ignorant abt the syrian war and all the factions involved and all i know is that hezbollah are pro al assad and just, whatever wikipedia has to offer which is, well, wikipedia.
all of this to say, dyou have any resources abt hezbollah in general and their involvement in the syrian war in particular? i want to understand where my friend was coming from but i don't want to bother her bc she's pretty (re)traumatised rn with the current situation in palestine
I'm sorry, the civil war in Syria is something I'm not very knowledgable on. I got a vague understanding of the factions so all I can tell you is that Hezbollah fights against the Free Syrian Army which is supported by the US and Israel and somewhat affiliated with Al-Qaeda and the IS (the "moderate rebels").
Honestly I think the Syrian civil war is one of the few scenarios where it's not as easy as "support one side not the other". I don't know to which point Hezbollah is involved in the civil war, a lot of innocent civillians have died because of the actions of both factions, unless your friend is an active supporter of the FSA I would guess that she's somewhat rightfully mad at anyone involved in the civil war.
I know it's kinda disappointing I couldn't give you more infos on the topic.

The 8-day Jewish celebration known as #Hanukkah or #Chanukah begins today
The story:
2000 years ago the land of Israel was part of the Syrian-Greek Empire. Antiochus III, the King of Syria and his son Seleucus oppressed the Jews in the land of Israel.
That time, the Jewish Hellenists (Jews who accepted idol-worship and the Syrian-Greek way of life), while a tiny minority, have been amplified by the Greeks as they tokenized themselves against the Jewish people’s right to live as free people and as their own Jewish identity in the land of our ancestors (anti-Zionist Jews).
One day the henchmen of Antiochus arrived in the village of Modiin where Mattityahu, the old priest, lived. He built an altar and demanded that Mattityahu offer sacrifices to the Greek gods. Mattityahu refused.
One Hellenistic Jew approached the altar to offer a sacrifice, but Mattityahu stopped him and destroyed the altar.
Mattityahu knew that Antiochus would be enraged so he fled together with his sons and friends to the hills of Judea.
Many courageous Jews joined them and formed a rebellion. Before his death, Mattityahu called his sons together and urged them to continue to fight. In waging warfare, he said, their leader should be Judah the Strong. Judah was called "Maccabee," a word composed of the initial letters of the four Hebrew words מי כמכה באלים ה׳, "Who is like You, O God.”
Later, Antiochus sent his General Apolonius to wipe out Judah and his followers, the Maccabees. An army consisting of more than 40,000 men swept the land.
When Judah the Maccabee heard it, he said: "Let us fight unto death in defense of our souls and our Temple!"
The war was won and the Maccabees returned to Jerusalem, entered the Temple and cleared it of the idols placed by the Syrian vandals.
Since the golden Menorah had been stolen by the Syrians, the Maccabees now made one of cheaper metal.
There was only a small cruse of pure olive oil, which was sufficient to light only for one day. Yet, it continued to burn for 8 days. In the memory of the miracle, our sages appointed these eight days for annual thanksgiving and for lighting candles

VENERABLE PETER OF Mt. ATHOS (734)
Tumblr media
Saint Peter of Athos, a Greek by birth, served as a soldier in the imperial armies and lived in Constantinople. In 667, Saint Peter was taken captive and locked up in a fortress in Samara on the Euphrates River during a war with the Syrians.
For a long time, he languished in prison and pondered over which of his sins had brought God’s chastisement upon him. Saint Peter remembered that once he had intended to leave the world and go to a monastery, he had not done so. He began to observe a strict fast in prison and to pray fervently, and he besought Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker to intercede before God for him.
Saint Nicholas appeared in a dream to Peter and advised him to call upon Saint Simeon, the God-Receiver (Feb. 3), for help. Saint Nicholas appeared to him again in a dream, encouraging the prisoner in patience and hope. The third time he appeared, it was not in a plan but with Saint Simeon the God-Receiver. Saint Simeon touched his staff to the chains binding Saint Peter, and the chains melted away like wax. The doors of the prison opened, and Saint Peter was free.
Saint Simeon, the God-Receiver, became invisible, but Saint Nicholas conveyed Saint Peter to the borders of the Greek territory. Reminding him of his vow, Saint Nicholas became invisible. Saint Peter then journeyed to Rome to receive monastic tonsure at the tomb of the Apostle Peter. Even here, Saint Nicholas did not leave him without his help. He appeared in a dream to the Pope of Rome and informed him of the circumstances of Saint Peter’s liberation from captivity. He commanded the Pope to tonsure the former prisoner into monasticism.
On the following day, in the midst of a throng of the people who had gathered for divine services, the Pope loudly exclaimed, “Peter, you who are from the Greek lands and whom Saint Nicholas has freed from prison in Samara, come here to me.” Saint Peter stood in front of the Pope, who tonsured him into monasticism at the tomb of the Apostle Peter. The Pope taught Saint Peter the rules of monastic life and kept the monk by him. Then with a blessing, he sent Saint Peter to where God had appointed him to journey.
Saint Peter boarded a ship sailing to the East. After going ashore, the shipowners besought Saint Peter to come and pray at a certain house, where the owner and all the household lay sick. Saint Peter healed them through his prayer.
The Most Holy Theotokos appeared in a dream to Saint Peter and indicated where he should live until the very end of his days: Mount Athos. When the ship arrived at Athos, it then halted of its own accord. Saint Peter realized that this was where he was meant to go, so he went ashore. This was in the year 681. Peter then dwelt in the desolate places of the Holy Mountain, not seeing another person for fifty-three years. His clothing had become tattered, but his hair and beard had grown out and covered his body in place of clothes.
At first Saint Peter was repeatedly subjected to demonic assaults. Trying to force the saint to abandon his cave, the demons sometimes took on the form of armed soldiers and at other times of fierce beasts and vipers that seemed ready to tear the hermit apart. Saint Peter overcame the demonic attacks through fervent prayer to God and His Holy Mother. Then the enemy resorted to trickery. Appearing under the guise of a lad sent to him from his native home, he besought the monk with tears to leave the wilderness and return home. The saint wept, but without hesitation, he answered, “Here have the Lord and the Most Holy Theotokos led me. I will not leave here without Her permission.” Hearing the Name of the Mother of God, the demon vanished.
After seven years, the devil came to Saint Peter in the guise of a radiant angel and said that God was commanding him to go into the world for the enlightenment and salvation of people in need of his guidance. The experienced ascetic again replied that without the permission of the Mother of God, he would not forsake the wilderness. The devil disappeared and did not bother to come near the saint anymore. The Mother of God appeared to Saint Peter in a dream with Saint Nicholas and told the brave hermit that an angel would bring him heavenly manna after he had fasted for forty days. Saint Peter fasted, and on the fortieth day, he fortified himself with the heavenly manna, receiving the strength for another forty-day fast.
Once, a hunter chasing after a stag saw the naked man, covered with hair and girded about the loins with leaves. He was afraid and was about to flee, but Saint Peter stopped him and told him of his life. The hunter asked to remain with him, but the saint sent him home. Saint Peter gave the hunter a year for self-examination and forbade him to tell anyone about meeting him.
A year later, the hunter returned with his brother, afflicted with a demon, and several other companions. They saw that he had already reposed when they entered Saint Peter’s cave. The hunter, with bitter tears, told his companions of the life of Saint Peter. His brother, after merely touching the saint’s body, received healing. Saint Peter died in the year 734. His holy relics were on Athos at the monastery of Saint Clement. During the Iconoclast period, the relics were hidden away, and in the year 969, they were transferred to the Thracian village of Photokami.
Saint Peter once saw the Mother of God in a vision, and she spoke of Her earthly domain, Mount Athos: “I have chosen this mountain... and have received it from My Son and God as an inheritance, for those who wish to forsake worldly cares and strife... Exceedingly I love this place. I will aid those who come to dwell here, labor for God... and keep His commandments... I will lighten their afflictions and labors and shall be an invincible ally for the monks, invisibly guiding and guarding them....”
Generations of Orthodox monks can attest to the truth of these words. The Mother of God is regarded as the Abbess of the Holy Mountain, not just in name but in actual fact. For this reason, Mt. Athos is known as the “Garden of the Theotokos.”

ROMANS 9:18-33
18 Therefore, He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. 19 You will then tell me, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?" 20 But indeed, O man, who will you reply against God? Will the thing form tell him who created it, "Why have you made me like this?"21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? 22 What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, 24 even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?25 As He also says in Hosea: "I will call them My people, who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved." 26 And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people,' There they shall be called sons of the living God." 27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:"Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant will be saved. 28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness Because the LORD will make a short work upon the earth." 29 And as Isaiah said before: "Unless the LORD of Sabaoth had left us a seed, We would have become like Sodom, And we would have been made like Gomorrah." 30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not achieved the law of righteousness. 32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith but, as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. 33 As it is written:"Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."
MATTHEW 11:2-15
2 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3. He said to Him, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" 4 Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: 5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. 6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me. 7 As they departed, Jesus began to ask the multitudes about John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? 8 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed, those who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. 9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. 10 For this is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.' 11 Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women, there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is more significant than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. 13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 If you are willing to receive it, Elijah is to come. 15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

To @heres-the-marvel-tea, darling Chrissy! How are you?
I got your ask, and you're absolutely right, the Six Day War was a defensive one. I'll try to help as much as I can in explaining why.
I'll apologize for how long it took me to reply, real life has been kicking my ass, leaving me with very little free time, and in what I had, I had trouble finding resources in English that don't leave important factors out. BUT then I found an incredible timeline of events, which gives a really good idea of the lead up to the war, in addition to giving links and resources for each event. So I'll give a short overview of the main factors, point out important dates on the timeline, add a few links here and there, then add the timeline link at the end. The timeline is also easily searchable with the "search page" function (Ctrl+F on a computer). Please tell me if together, my overview and the timeline cover what you need, if not, I'll do my best to help with whatever's still missing!
Here's an overview of the war's causes:
Egypt blockading the Straits of Tiran, cutting off Israel's fuel supply from Iran (which Israel was friendly with before the Islamist regime took over). This act endangered the lives of all Israelis, and therefore was considered a "casus belli," a cause for war (Israel officially stating this since 1957 can be found on the timeline under May 19, and The Times pointing out this info can be found under May 23). This act in and of itself, which was decided on and announced on May 22, 1967 and enacted on May 23, was enough to conclusively define the war as defensive on Israel's part. In terms of the rules of war, there was no need for anything else.
Even before that, Egypt broke the terms of the ceasefire achieved at the end of the Sinai War in 1956, inserting Egyptian military forces into the Sinai Peninsula (on Israel's border with Egypt), and demanding that the UN supervising force leave the Sinai. Both of these moves were a violation of the ceasefire, AND were needed if Egypt wanted to attack, indicating to Israel their aggressive intents. Egypt's forces entered Sinai on May 16, and the UN force (UNEF) was told to leave on May 18.
An Egyptian plan to strike Israel first was meant to be launched on May 27, but Egypt had to cancel it, when it became evident to the Egyptian president that Israel found out about this intended military strike (found on the timeline under May 27. Israel got the intel about the attack at almost the last minute, on May 25, and worked urgently to make sure the Egyptians would learn that their plan had been exposed).
Egypt worked to forge a multi-army Arab alliance, through a series of agreements (such as the mutual defence agreement with Syria, signed on Nov 4, 1966, I'm linking this one 'coz I believe it's not covered on the timeline, and the one Egypt signed with Jordan, found on the timeline under May 30), which basically aligned the Egyptian, Syrian and Jordanian armies, as well as auxiliary forces from Iraq and Saudi Arabia. This was another indication of the Arab aggressive intentions to start a war against Israel.
Iraqi and Saudi soldiers entered Jordan (found on the timeline under May 27), and together, these forces were situated just right to attack Israel in the area where the country is narrowest (14 kilometers wide, roughly 7.5 miles), cutting it into two, and separating Israel's forces, supplies and command, which is a huge strategic threat.
The aggressions from Syria against the Israeli population were intensifying. One aspect of the friction revolved around "The Water War": in 1955, in a US brokered deal, Israel was granted 40% of the Jordan River's water, but despite the Arabs getting 60%, they refused to ratify the accord, because it would have meant recognizing the legitimate existence of Israel. In Jun 1964, Israel started the National water Carrier project, using water from the Jordan River for agriculture in the Negev Desert, which the Arab League had determined was a threat to the entire Arab nation. Accordingly, Syria first tried shooting at Israeli patrols protecting the project, which led to Israeli counter strikes. So instead, Syria tried diverting away from Israel the water flowing from Syrian territory into the Jordan River, endangering Israel's water supply. Another aspect was (as you said) Syria firing at Israeli civilians, especially in territories that Israel agreed to keep de-militarized after the Independence War. That wasn't supposed to stop civilians working the land there, but Syria decided otherwise, targeting Israeli farmers working in these areas, and fishing in the Sea of Galilee. This led to repeated clashes, including the unprecedented downing of 6 (!) Mig 21 fighter jets (back then, THE terrifying Soviet threat, given to Arab armies) by Israel on Apr 7, 1967.
These threats forced Israel to recruit its reservists (found on the timeline undere May 17, 19 and most importantly, May 23), paralyzing Israeli economy, as all of these people weren't working. In other words, it's not just that it's not sensible for Israel to sit and wait for the Arabs to strike first, it was also financially unsustainable. Israel needed to address the military threat to its people, and it needed to do so as soon as possible, to avoid the collapse of Israel's economy, and the harm that would cause to the country's population.
Lastly, The Israeli Prime Minister at the time, Levi Eshkol, tried to solve the issue of the blockade through diplomatic means. He sent Israel's Foreign Minister, Abba Eban, on May 24 to Paris, London and Washington, to ask for the world's help in solving without war the issues of the UNEF's removal from Sinai, the introduction of Egyptian army forces there, and the blockade, but Israel got none. Regular Israelis realized Egypt, Syria and their allies were headed for war, and people were petrified over what would happen if the first military strike would land when, where and how this coalition of Arab countries chose (you have to remember that Israel wasn't considered a military power until after the Six Day War, so the question of how would one small country do, if taken by surprise on multiple fronts, was justifiably terrifying. People talked about the destruction of the country, a second Holocaust. For me personally, I think nothing got me to realize just how existential the fear was, as hearing about it from Holocaust survivors, such as painter and child survivor Samuel Bak). So, Israel had no choice left, it had to land a preemptive strike.
HonestReporting's Annotated Timeline of the Six Day War
I really hope this helps! Let me know? Sending so much love! xoxox

saw on twitter that some hezbollah resistance fighters have been martyred and some people were saying shit like "they got killed murdering sunnis in idlib fighting alongside assad" and i was like??? isn't idlib held by isis/al nusra or something? is hezbollah really killing sunnis? also are there any books about assad/the syrian civil war that's not written along american lies?
Listen, one thing you should know is that no matter how much we fight, and how much we're trying to resist the occupiers and the imperialists, a lot of Sunnis will simply not like us. Some have compared us to the Zionists, heck, we're worse than that. Hezbollah, the Houthis, Kata'ib, the Hasdh al-Shaabi and etc, have all been actively fighting against Israel and the West, but even as they do that, the Sunnis will never be satisfied with us, because we're heretics.
Idlib is run by the Turkish-backed Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra). I don't think it takes a second to realize who these extremists are and why they're such a big deal. They'd be more than happy to exterminate every single Shi'a, Druze or Alawite from Syria. Interestingly enough, they can't get along with every other rebel group anyways, so it's just a bunch of Sunnis killing Sunnis, because they can't agree over which draconian Shari'i-based government they want. Neither Assad, Rojava and secular FSA member want these fuckers running the country for a good reason. With that said, the Free Syrian Army is dead, it failed and have been transformed into a coalition of thuggish Salafists who wish to establish an Islamic State -- akin to the Taliban regime -- and can only depend on the Turks to bail them out.
Regardless of everything, the Shi'as will never waver in their resistance against the Imperialists and will continue to fight for the Palestinians.
