Happy New Year! 2023 had a lot of positive upheavals for me, which are all good things, but meant, art-wise, some months I drew more than usual, and some other months I didn't draw at all. However, I still wanted to fill-in this end-of-the-year meme, so I fudged the dates a bit to not have gaps. Because this is supposed to be motivational, not punitive! I also added bonus row for some other drawings I didn't want to leave out, because I say so. :P

Playing wargroove 2 and it’s just as fun as the first plus there’s a buff non-binary rat who was unethically experimented on so they’re obviously my favorite and there’s froggies and you can ride cats instead of horses, and there’s a lot of accessibility options which is super appreciated. Besides having multiple sliding difficulty scales, there’s also an option to reduce screen shake/flashing and vibration (a godsend for me), color blindness filters, and even monaural audio which is weirdly rare to come across. My only frustrations are that there’s a bit of wonk to it, there’s some minor typos and layout jank in the codex (which of course I continuously pore over), there’s some frequent but not overly annoying glitches when the enemy does their turn of the screen focusing on a random part of the map away from the action or pulling up menus you didn’t want to look at, and lastly I’m just bummed there’s no toggle like in fire emblem to see the maximum move/attack range of the enemy army. I saw some people complaining it would make it too easy but to me it’s just a way to save time, instead of going back and forth checking and double checking to make sure I don’t accidentally step a tile too far.

Anyway my only other comment is I’m going to kill pistil I’m going to grab her by her tail and dangle her over a pool you are my enemy you nasty vermin!!!

The Dark Beginnings ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Chapter 0 Finale (2/6)

Kimial Diehl : (about to wake up) Oi, oi, oi. What happened? Where are we?

Ashley : It appears that we entered inside the Nest. Turns out that Baba Yaga Castle is actually a nest for a wicked Spider...(sees Heartless emblem) heartless!? This isn't the nest of a Spider demon. It's a nest for the Spider Demon Heartless!

Eruka Frog : You don't say?!

Ashley : HQ! This is Ashley here. We finally discovered the nest of Jorogumo. Looks like we a got us to hit the motherload!

Eruka Frog : So this is Arachne Gorgon's...All these bones, these guys look like that they've been feeding their selves to us! We witches don't eat human flesh! Oh my Goodness! This is what the Gorgon Sisters doing!? They lied to me! I'm not evil at all! I'm one of the Good guys all along! So I believe you, Ashley. You were right and I was wrong, okay? I should've known that me, Free, and Mizune were only being used by the Heartless to do their dirty work! I should've known this from the very start! Serves those heartless right for doing their dirty work. If this hadn't been for the Gorgon witch trio's jealously, none of this would have ever happen to my life. And me, a villain that is part of the story? I didn't want to be a villain that is a part of a story! I wanted to be the hero that is a part of everyone's story! Do you hear me now, Mamu? I wanted to protect the innocence and fight for justice to go against the scums of darkness that call their selves the Heartless! This is a redemption that I deserved for the story! Free, Mizune, and myself would be redeemed to be as heroes that fights for his or her friends!

Ashley : Yeah...Of course. Sounds like that you got the right therapist.

Eruka Frog : And as a request in honor of my redemption, I promise to an oath to my people that I would never be another villain like my descendant Mamu. He tried to be the tyrannical tyrant that he wanted to redeem to his froggy people, but he went overboard and was never seen again. So that is why I needed you to reclaim my redemption and make me a hero for the rest of life!

Kimial Diehl : Alright, we'll help you out. We'll find a way to get your redemption as a hero. Then you'll fight for good! So, umm, what's with the, uhh...

Eruka Frog : I just had to take my boots off at my homeland of Louisiana, So I had to get a new pair of white boots, which is why I was gifted by my friend from school.

Kimial Diehl : Is it the waterboy?

Eruka Frog : Mostly. Sometimes, having life at school is a lot tough when it comes to bullfrogs and or Bell Frogs.

Ashley : Not in particular order.

Ansem : Silence! Now pay attention I want you all to greet the spider demon that utterly tries to make it's attempt on destroying the Devil's legacy. [To Kimial] And you, a witch that fights for Law and Justice, are the spawns of his will!

Kimial Diehl : Devil's Legacy? Meisters that were puppets to Shinra's will? Does that make me a puppet to the Devil's will, too?

Ansem : Persistent don't you think? The Hero named Shinra who gave Soul World to life is all nothing but a lie, the son of him was only using you for monopolization of power! You have been pawns to his kind the entire time and we heartless are here to save you from this corrupted force! We need heartless that are born to destroy the Devil's legacy and that's why we used the hearts of Humankind and Witchkind to start an uprising that will overthrow the legacy!

[Resident Evil 0 OST : ZERO Ver.2]

Kimia Diehl : So the Gorgon Sisters that every hero fought with...you were using our kind's hearts to overthrow a dumb legacy of his!? So that's what the DWMA were trying to get the Heartless' Attention. They weren't only created to keep Earth's peace, they were only created to destroy all non-heartless beings and monopolize the world for political power! This is all Shinra's fault! I blame the hero for this Soul Eater Crap! No, not only shinra, I blame both him and the author! It was the Author's fault! I really telegraph that! Cause I knew that he did all of that just for the sake of us protecting Shinra's stupid legacy! If I hadn't been listening to Ashley and the people of Massachusetts, I wouldn't been involved of their stupid mess! Damn it! Damn it all! Why did my people suffer everyrthing? Why did I care about Maka and friends, why I did care about protecting the legacy! *sniffing* It should've been the legacy that was created by my relative! *sniffing* And now...I wouldn't worry so much that I...I HATED EVERYTHING THAT I WOULD NEVER BE A PART OF HER STORY! I SHOULD NEVER BECOME A PART OF HER STORY! I WANTED A STORY OF MY VERY OWN, A STORY THAT It WOULD MAKE ME, JACQUELINE, AND EVERYONE HAPPY!!!

Ansem : Who are you!?

Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : I am Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre, Phantom of Flaming Judgement!

Eruka Frog : Phantom? Hey, she's one of them, the Phantoms.

Ashley : A mysterious group of masked beings that lived in secrecy for so long. I heard those guys before. Ever since the Phantonian Race have arrived and ruled the Galaxy before Humankind and Witchkind, the Phantoms were an advance superior race that are much equivalent to the Phantonians, they are a group of Masked beings that are the evolved form of humans that are born with supernatural powers and they only appear at night or in the day. And it all began in Paris, where they became a secret organization called the Phantoms of Society, where they help the detectives. They are way stronger than the Meister their selves! A way better hero! Kimial knew that Jacqueline O'lantern Dupre is not a weapon, but a Phantom from that group. It's true that they hid their selves in the darkness, and as ordinary humans in daytime and even hide their own identities.

Eruka Frog : Guess I was right about that! A Phantom that is a hero, huh?

Ansem : Not those Mask Freaks of justice again! I'll give you fear and pain, you parasites of this planet!

Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : Sorry to break it to ya, that witch over there, Kimial, is mine. She's the one that is responsible for a second explosion in Japan, the one she caused after people teased that she literally killed everyone including her best friend. With her in my control, I able to regain her powers coming from Shattered Resonance. This weapon I wield is a sword passed down by family for generations! It allows me to grant me the powers of the flames that is judgement! My enemies shall face judgement and suffer their punishment!

Ansem : Tch! (Snickers) Very well. I shall give you a proper demonstration of whether you are on the Devil's side or the Keyblade's. It will be your final awakening call! Jorogumo! Awaken yourself!

Arachne/Jorogumo : With Pleasure!

[Queen Bella's Ball - Fumie Kumatani, Kenichi Tokoi]

(Arachne goes into an alarming transformation)

Ashley : What's it doing now!?

Eruka Frog : I believe this isn't a witch at all. A demon from Japan is about to bring destruction on the country!

Kimial Diehl : What?!

(Jorogumo roars)

Ashley : Monsters. Guess after this it'll be one less to worry about.

"Jorogumo : Demon Queen of the Spiders"

Ashley : So this is what witchkind was hiding from us. Demons that wanted to bring destruction on the devil's legacy? What was that Shinigami person thinking that demons from Japan would bring destruction on the Kusakabe legacy?

Kimial Diehl : We had just to be the heroes to protect a dumb legacy, didn't we?

Eruka Frog : Enough fooling around! We gotta take out this thing with one secret technique. It's very effective so we need something offensive to attack that thing!

Ashley : But freeze spell and Thunder spell are useless against the queen! Spider demon's have one weakness and I believe that her weakness...*DING!* Fire! Everyone Jorogumo's weakness is Fire!

Kimial Diehl : Yes, everyone's weakness is always fire! Same goes to Martian Manhunter, but it also works in the monster movie The Thing, not the Superhero mutant guy. Jacqueline! You have some fire power with that flaming judgement of yours!

Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : Right! (Her sword powers in a fiery aura) This is what the flames of judgement have given me strength and powers! I shall smite the wicked and plunged them into the fiery pits of hell! So burn in Hell now, demon spider!

Time Eater : Chaos...CONTROL!

*Sonic SFX : Chaos Control!*

Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : Oi! What's going on where are we?!

*DBZ SFX : Energy Shot+Explosion*

 For this Shoulders Of Giants Review, we simultaneously control a sword-wielding mech and a gunslinging space frog in Shoulders of Giants, an explosively colorful sci-fi roguelike. Play alone, with a friend, or as part of a four-person team, cutting through waves of enemies on a quest to rescue the galaxy from the forces of Entropy.

Shoulders Of Giants Review Pros:

- Nice big bright graphics. - 7.9GB download size. - 1000 Gamerscore. - Opening tutorial section. - Controller settings - Invert axis and sensitivity sliders, aim to assist, vibration, Germ sensitivity slider, and Froggie aim sensitivity slider. - Can rebind controls. - Visual settings - Ui scaling slider, camera shake, and motion blur. - Four save slots. - Crossplay with the PC version. - The areas/locations look really good. - Loadout setting - main saver for melee, ranged gun, three ability slots with cool down. - You are a machine with a frog on your back. - Moba is like in that each level has you taking down spires before you can attack the core. - As you cleanse areas via the spires, the color will come back to them. - Eat bugs to regain health. - Enemy health bars and Damage numbers show. - On-screen help with buttons and objectives. - Earn EXP and use the points to put into the four skill trees (Frog/Robot/World/Stats). - Main hub world to level up, pick missions and chat with characters, craft, change loadout. - Dye your color using EXP at the coresmith. - Cores are your abilities and passive abilities you earn by playing. You can only equip X amount at one time. (depends on your abilities) - Change emotes. - Craft cores by breaking down unwanted ones. - Craft and equip new weapons for robot and frog. - Level selection is done via a solar system map of planets, each shows heat level and difficulty. - Multiple choice encounters. - Heat is what you are looking to earn in order to level and progress. Failing missions will take heat away from your progress bar. - Roguelike in the way that you lose all power-ups upon death. - Full 3D camera control. - Add a secondary ability an equipped ability. - Power-ups, levels, and planets are all randomized. - Find and complete arena challenges for extra rewards. Shoulders Of Giants Review Cons: - Performance hitches like slowdown or dropping frames. - Unskippable opening intro. - No voice work just text. - Having to run around the hub is slow and tedious. - The frame rate tanks big time in boss battles to the point where it runs at like 5 frames. - The combat is hack and slash but it's so loose and messy. - The tutorial is basic and doesn't explain everything. - The music is not great and isn't really a match for what's going on. - Enemies hit far too hard. - The general movement in the game is not great. - Going into shooting can make the camera go erratic. - The maps are done in a way that it makes it hard to find the spires. - Picking up cores doesn't pause the game so you back out and lose the chance to use the core. - When paused the camera just sinks into the ground, not bad but then when you unpause you have to wait until the camera comes back up.
