The GIW have once again failed to capture Phantom. They got close, but crafty little bastard suddenly dropped its friendly human facade and lashed out with several pinpoint martial arts strikes before managing to break away and flee.

However, the battle wasn’t entirely a loss. Though Phantom had escaped, it left behind some biological material they could collect for study in the aftermath.

And in order to better understand their nemesis’s powers, they decide to clone it.

The first several attempts failed—the ghostly “embryos” reacting chaotically to the ectoplasm they were immersed in—but eventually one of them succeeded.

The creature that grew was… strange. Perhaps it was just another flaw of the cloning process, but its hair was largely black instead of the template’s white, though a few white strands did stand out starkly.

Eventually, the scientists decided the clone was grown enough to decant and begin running tests on.

But they didn’t account for it to be conscious.

Glowing green eyes snapped open and the child-clone began to tear through the scientists in a blinding rage.

Danyal al Ghul wiped the blood from his eyes with a fallen lab coat and scanned his surroundings for any details as to where he could be.

His memories were fuzzy. He could tell he had been recently revived by Lazarus Water, but the room didn’t look anything like typical a League of Assassins base. And besides, there was no way his grandfather’s minions would have treated him this way.

Riffling through the pockets of the fallen corpses, he found his first clues as to his location. It seemed like the lab he was in was in the northeastern portion of the United States of America.

A long ways from Nanda Parbat. However, not too far from Gotham City, where his father likely still resided.

For now, that would be a suitable destination to head for. He could get back into contact with the League from there.

But first, he had to make his way out of this lab. Shouldn’t be too difficult for an assassin of his caliber.

Danyal smiled. Time to get to work.

DP x DC prompt [19]

A couple days ago, or maybe it’s been a week now, there had been a horrid storm.

It had been bad enough on the surface but underwater it had caused extremely powerful currents that have dragged a very young Garth away and into the unknown.

He really should have listened to Atlan and stayed put…

Lost and alone, a Little Garth has found himself a lot closer to the surface than usual, the sea currents are still churning pretty bad and he simply can’t navigate his way back to anything remotely familiar.

At this point he’s quite hungry and tired, and he’s found that catching something is somewhat easier nearer to the surface.

However, now something entirely different has caught his attention.

still safely tucked away under the waves. Garth is watching two surface dwellers. judging by size they should be even younger than Garth is, which probably means their caretaker(s) are nearby.

Garth is about to leave them to it and go his own way when he catches on to the erratic kicking movements of the smallest one.

oh, he’s pretty sure surface dwellers aren’t supposed to stay underwater that long, that is if Atlan’s stories are correct.

And even though he’s somewhat terrified, he finds he can’t just… though he probably should…

Well, he ends up saving Danny from drowning.

Jazz and Danny’s parents are busy with a supposed haunted shipwreck and not paying attention.

But by saving Danny Garth found by Maddie and Jack. Who are worried that Garth is there all alone which is like... kinda hypocritical but whatever.

No ghost, but they got a sea boy!

and that quickly has them reassessing their disappointing conclusion that the wreck isn’t haunted, clearly the ghosts are somewhere underwater! After all, the ship was lost at sea and simply washed ashore.

Garth can’t really communicate that great with the Fenton’s. He doesn’t know english, and they do not have telepathy, the only thing he can catch from them is impressions of their emotions, which does make figuring out “yes” and “no” a bit easier.

At first he decides to accept their offer of shelter and food simply because he’s tired and hungry, and they seem like good people even if they are from the surface.

Then Garth makes the mistake of getting attached. All of a sudden he’s put in a eldest brother role. Jazz is determined to teach him english with her kid books and Danny has been attached to him like a barnacle ever since Garth got him out of the water.

And Garth’s needs aren’t even remotely treated as some sort of annoyance, they make note of his need for lots of water and adapt easily.

Everything is extremely overwhelming but thankfully for Garth they don't make the offer to take him with them to Amity Park right away.

They are on a family trip so they stick to the sea for another week and a half or so. After that they ask if he wants to just come with, Danny basically begs him, having an older brother seems like the best thing ever to him.

And Garth ends up taking the offer cause the last week was better than most of his lonely life so far, even if everything is weird and difficult and he can't communicate right.

Love the thought of Leo just casually being well traveled to absurd degrees. Like one day they’re facing their new Big Bad of the year and like, Draxum or whoever says that the key to their fight is located somewhere in, like, Latvia or some place, but no one knows where to start.

Then Leo’s like “oh I know a place” and when asked how the heck he could know of one it smash cuts to Leo falling through the ceiling of said place due to a portal mishap.

Also love the idea of Leo, being as accidentally (and then later, purposefully) well traveled as he is, sometimes taking his family on outings to different places all over, maybe to some new Yokai spots he found along the way.

In these places, Leo 100% lets his bros get scammed by tourist traps.

thinkin about how much i love glados again. what an icon. what a fucking goddess of disaster. first the scientists make a monster and then blame her for being a monster. like yeah, you fuckin caged her! and gave her access to deadly neurotoxin!! what do you mean you didn’t see this coming?! what did you expect! a woman scorned and all that except she’s a several ton computer you put in charge of everything! you gave her all your worst impulses and then muzzled her when she acted on them! her backstory was tragic even before portal 2. the closest thing she has to a friend is the one test subject that managed to test her back! and tried to kill her!! twice!!! augh i just have a lot of feelings rn

Linked Universe Au where everything is the same but Spirit never joined them cause he was too hyperfocused on fixing his train to notice the ominous portal opening right next to him and when he did turn around the portal was already gone

Linked universe au where everything is the same but Chain (my link oc) never joins cause he tried going through the portal but it wouldn't let Key (zelda oc) through and since key&chain are chained he can't not cross without her, so the portal just ends up spitting him out after 2 hours of trying to cross without success

Basically linked universe au where wind is literally the only adult timeline link who understood the assignment

And just like that, the sea grunks were no longer on the Stan o'war ll. In fact, the sea was nowhere to be fond

"Wh- The basement? How did we?" O,Ford says perplexed

O,Stan tapes on O,Ford's shoulder, to get his attention. "Uh Ford, look." he ponts to a younger man who was too preoccupied to notice the new arrivals "he kinda looks like you." O,Stan says

"Those time agents really need to keep better track of their stuff. We're in the past. And that's clearly you Stan. Now we should probably hide befor-" O,Ford is interrupted

The younger man finally releases he's not by himself. "Who are you?" Y,Stan questions, turning his attention away from the portal, and towards the older men

"Uhhhh, we're pirates/figments of your imagination." they try to say at the same time, tripping over each other's words

"...riiiight, how'd you even get down here, and why are you..." Y,Stan gives the intruders a once over, looking to see if they had any weapons. His eyes wander to their hands. Wait, it almost looked like one of them had "you have six fingers." Y,Stan says bluntly

O,Ford quickly hides his hands behind his back, out of habit. "How very observant of you. Well, we should really get going now." O,Ford says

"Wait! sorry, I just, I have a twin brother he-" Y,Stan released how similar the two men in front of him looked "Wait are you also twins? What's going on?"

"I didn't realize I was such a detective back then." O,Stan says "kid listen, we don't want to create any paradoxes, so just pretend you never saw us, ok?" O,Stan grabs the time tape O,Ford had been holding, and pulls out the measure to what should be the right time. And holds on to O,Ford's arm

"Oh, great! things busted." O,Stan says

"Lit me see that." O,Ford takes the time tape back from O,Stan, and examines it. "Ugh, curse you time agents! And you're easily breakable technology!" O,Ford yells

"I'm still here, by the way." Y,Stan says. "Paradoxes? Time agents? Care to tell me how you got here, and why one of you has six fingers! Then there's the twin thing- who even are you?" Y,Stan is so confused. One minute, he's trying to fix the portal to get his brother back, and the next, there's two random old guys in the basement fighting over what looks like a measuring tape

"Ah, well, since we appear to be stuck until I can get this thing to work. I suppose we could answer a few of your questions, just nothing about the future. I'm... let's go with hmmm," O,Ford tries to think of a good alias

Ya know, the more Y,Stan hears this guy's voice the more it almost sounds like, "Ford?" But it couldn't be, Ford was (definitely alive) in the portal

O,Ford stops thinking and flinches at the name. A moment of silence passes.

"Ooohhh busted." O,Stan says

"You really were a little detective." O,Ford sighs. Deciding it's probably best to just tell the truth "Yes, it's me. Stanley, I-"

But before O,Ford could continue, Y,Stan rushed towards him, smashing into O,Ford, and holds onto him tightly, in an embrace. "H- how" Y,Stan didn't really care how. He pulled back enough to look at O,Ford's face, it really was him. He looked a lot older, but this guy was definitely Ford

after a moment O,Ford puts the time tape in his pocket and returns the hug. "Stanley, are you alright?"

Y,Stan just berries his face in O,Ford's shoulder, and holds him tighter. "I- I thought I'd never see you again." Y,Stan's voice catches. Why was Ford worried if he was alright? That wasn't like him

"Oh, come on kid, don't embarrass me." O,Stan says. It was kinda awkward watching his younger self hug his brother

If this was an older version of Ford, then the other guy that looked almost exactly like O,Ford, "Then you must be me?" Y,Stan finally stops crushing O,Ford's ribs

"Man, I just don't miss. You got it in one mini me." O,Stan shoots fingers guns at Y,Stan with a wink

"We're a bit time-displaced at the moment-" Just then, O,Ford's hand brushed up against the burn on Y,Stan's back

"Aaagghh!" Y,Stan let out a blood curdling cry

"Stanley! Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. I should've remembered you were hurt." O,Ford says. "Come on, there's gotta be something in this house to treat that wound." O,Ford starts leading Y,Stan to the elevator

O,Stan put a hand on his shoulder over the scar. "I remember that easily enough." he followed the others to the elevator

Why was O,Ford being so nice to him? Y,Stan didn't know what to make of O,Ford. Everything was confusing. "So time travel?" Y,Stan brakes the awkward silence that had befallen the elevator

"Yes, it's actually quite fascinating, we found this old measuring tape with an hourglass symbol, encased in resin. The kids had told us about their adventures through time, so we brought it back to the Stan o'war ll for further research." O,Ford says, to caught up in talking about the time tape

"Ford, we're trying to prevent time paradoxes." O,Stan says

"Wait, wait, wait, kids!? The Stan o'war ll?!" Y,Stan finds it extremely hard to believe, there's kids? Who's kids are they? Are they his kids? And the Stan o'war ll he couldn't believe, that was just his dumb dream that would never come true, tho in the future apparently his dumb dream has a sequel!

O,Ford puts a head over his mouth. "You didn't hear that." he said quickly. "nooo I can't have already messed up the timeline. Has Fiddleford invented the memory gun yet?" O,Ford releases a second to late what he said

"Who? The what now?" Y,Stan says. He's getting tired of being so confused. This strange Ford is talking nonsense

"Never mind, forget about it." The elevator door opens, saving O,Ford from further messing up the timeline. "Okay, first things first, that wound needs medical attention right now." O,Ford walks out of the elevator without another word

"Well, that was hard to watch." O,Stan says

"I don't suppose you're going to tell me what any of that meant." Y,Stan says

O,Stan just shakes his head no

O,Ford came back with the med kit. And they all made their way to the living room, or what was once the living room at least. "I forgot how much of a mess this place was- or is I suppose." He pulled out the disinfectant. "This is only gonna sting a little." he lied

"I can do it myself-" Y,Stan tried, but it was no use O,Ford was already pouring disinfectant on a rag and then holding it on the wound. "aaaggh!! A little warning next time! Ow."

"I did give a warning, though?" O,Ford says

"Not warning enough." Y,Stan says bitterly

"Stanley, did you take care of this at all? It looks, really bad." O,Ford says, concerned as he starts to wrap bandages over the wound

"As a matter of fact, he did not." O,Stan says. Though he understood why

"Look, I've been kinda busy trying to reverse engineer an interdimensional gateway. I was gonna get around to it... at some point." Y,Stan says

"He was not." O,Stan says with an innocent smile

"Hay, aren't you supposed to be on my side." Y,Stan says. "Wait, if you're Ford and you're old," O,Ford, gives a look that says 'don't call me old' "then that must mean I succeed in getting you back! right? -Ow! careful with that." Y,Stan says hopeful

O,Ford finishes wrapping the bandages. (He was extremely gentle. What are you talking about)

"Yeah, speaking of the portal, I've been thinking, and well, we need to shut it down. permanently." O,Ford says

"What?! Absolutely not! no way." the Stans say, confused

I am once again reiterating that Leo could and should be a figure skater because what are ice skates if not twin blades? What is dual blade swordsmanship if not a dance-like performance? Using the skates as blades themselves could let Leo make portals be his ice rink no? I rest my case. ⛸️

I think it’s orettt obvious disaster twins r my fave …. I think they’re a silly combo n I like a older bro Donnie little shit Leo combo it makes me chuckle

My second fave is prolly Leo n raph tho ….something abt them im jus hooked. I rlly wish there was more fan content for the time period between Leo being named leader and the Kraang invasion i feel like there’s such a drought 🙁 if anyone knows of any fan stuff w that…pls tell me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Luxord, who has the ability to control the flow of time, having a slight beef with Xigbar, who has the ability to manipulate space.

I feel like the very elements that these two possess hint to a very interesting conflict that goes far beyond the nature of light and darkness and possibly Kingdom Hearts itself.

Which is pretty fitting for the series, considering how far and insanely complicated the lore is to date.
