#frustrated mod post

If anyone knows why some submissions allow for current day formatting and some do not and maybe how to fix it, please drop me a line. Around a third of submissions I cannot figure out how to add polls to, as there's no option for it, and the formatting looks old school. I want to make sure I'm not missing something, and that this is a tumblr problem not an "i'm bad at technology" problem.

Filipino workers who harvest bird's nests, risking their lives to reach the caves in high cliffs where they are found, and making maybe $600 for the entire season. The ENTIRE SEASON. Like 5-6 months and they make 600 whole dollars

Factory worker processing coconuts in Sri Lanka, hand-peeling literally thousands of coconuts per shift, and they make $10 a day. The workers who risk their asses climbing the trees to harvest the coconuts? Five dollars a day

It's disgusting. It's criminal

We rely on these folks for the food we need for interesting and nutritious diets and they get paid next to nothing. It's fucking heinous

there are generally 2 philosophies when it comes to piracy.

too many people will ruin the good thing we have going on, the more eyes the worse it gets. VS the point of piracy is accessibility, therefore it's fine to spread the word on websites to visit.

i generally fall into the latter camp- but I think the important thing to recognize is that *if* a piracy site wanted to be private, they easily could be. Private trackers and newsgroups exist for a reason- but the major piracy sites (the ones I link to) are not trying to be private.

So I saw the original boot over and if I were writing DCAS, I would've stuck with it. Ashley and Tess F2 would've been great because those characters could've benefit from more screen time. I don't care if some fan think it's boring, I'll gladly take it over the painfully agonizing version that we got in a heartbeat.

not to be even more of a hater, but ONC are fucking stupid. how they threw away ashley winning for FUCKING RIYA, WHO GOT SECOND PLACE IN HER ORIGINAL SEASON, is beyond me. i genuinely cannot think of a worse writing choice i have encountered IN MY LIFE and by god i wish it were just me being dramatic.

this is killing me. to think this season could’ve been GOOD. to think we could’ve had a GOOD boot order, a GOOD finale, a GOOD winner. TO THINK DCAS COULD’VE BEEN GOOD.

at this point, i should get back to writing TD:TBBG only to prove how much better i can write an all stars season compared to this piece of dogshit

west coast birders: what do you consider our northern cardinal? like, there's blue/steller's jays, and eastern/spotted towhees, and red/yellow shafted flickers. but there's no western cardinal species. the closest equivalents i can think of are the black-headed grosbeak or the western tanager, but i'm curious if other ppl have birds they personally think of as "our cardinal"

Tumblr really should have a shuffle option in tags. I reach this point where, unless I scroll really far, I'll just keep seeing the same posts in the Top and New sections for the tags I check. And when there's only like four or less new posts and the Top section rarely changes, I never see anything I haven't before. I know there's a shit ton of stuff I just can't get to because it's buried so deep.

So there really should be a way to shuffle or randomize what order posts pop up in a single tag. Any date, any number of notes. Just let me see them!
