If you don't have DID maybe you're not gonna fully get the innie experience, okay?
watching this show as someone who is multiple and then reading y'alls takes about it is so incredibly frustrating like.....many of you can't seem to actually accurately empathize with the innie experience (and I guess that makes sense). the villification of mark and helly in the tag already is making me so sad.
but you don't understand what it's like. to constantly be told you're not important because you're not the one everyone on the outside knows. to be constantly told you're not real. to be condescended to like a child about your interests, your likes, your desires, the ways you show and want love. to be expected to be fine with having less of a life. to have your romantic interests deemed secondary or unimportant, to not be able to pursue the relationships you want.
to be told by people with power over you, over and over again, that you are a problem to be fixed, that smushing yourself into one reintegrated person is the only option, that you have no choice but to give into whatever the "Real One" wants and be banished to the shadows (at least, that's the way we've been treated by mainstream psychology up to current day, except for a small cadre of plural affirming providers who see it differently).
that all being said, i am absolutely fucking gutted for gemma, devastated for her, for where we ended the episode with her and for all her innies who had to experience absolute hell, and I don't want this for her. AND!!! i do not fucking hold it against mark s. and helly, that for once, they got to make their own fucking choice, not have their autonomy and consent stripped away from them, not be second fiddle and unimportant to the life of the outies. is it a good plan? doubtful!! but do i respect their desire to try to exist and be together? yeah. tbh oMark fumbled the fucking ball so hard with that conversation - the condescension, the clear inability to understand and accept that iMark is his own person with desires, needs, interests, relationships, and that maybe an apology isn't enough. (I mean, I think both Marks were sort of fucked by the time constraint and inability to share and obtain more information, but still.)
do hard choices have to be made regardless? yeah, there's not really any way everyone can win here. But still. I don't blame Mark S and Helly. As Helly said, "they give us half a life and expect us not to fight for it." really truly imagine what that must be like. and know that some systems are living it. and that it is deeply unfair.

I need yall to understand how funny and terrifying it is that Luo Binghe was doing his shizun's paperwork before legally he could drive a car. This child was filing tax forms and making schedules. If he had Excell he'd have been a monster of logistical paperwork power.
Like we have no proof he wasn't grading papers.
But he could have been grading papers.
Like this child for all we know was influencing the curriculum of the entire peak and his shizun would just nod and say yes to 90% of it because he's such a been so cute and perfect of course Binghe knows best. He's the protagonist. And SIR! That is a child. He's like what 5 and smoll????? What does he know about academic curricular and proper cultivation techniques??? You left him and a bunch of other children alone for like half a year and I understand there are other teachers on the peak. Senior Disciples and all that but where are they getting the lesson plan? Who's determining classroom funds? What was the extent of our boy's power????? Could he have convinced Shizun to start a home ec class just to show off how much he's marrying material and prove he's better than everyone else? Did he spitefully give lower grades to people who looked at Shizun too long? What is the extent of his power and how little Shen Qingqiu understands about his own job. Is one guy who teaches the music lessons just getting 40 students while everyone else is in a classroom of 10 just because nobody is paying attention the to the course scheduling or because they can't enforce anything without the peak lord's signature. are the teachers filing out duplicate requests at An Ding Peak and driving Shang Qinghua insane because this is the fourth requests for new textbooks this year. WHY!!!!!!!
And then Shen Yuan took a depression sabbatical for 3 years basically followed by a 5 year nap. He's not qualified. That man is going to sit at his desk. Look at his paperwork. AND UNDERSTAND NONE OF IT. It's been like 10 years since he even pretended to look at his desk with interest and comprehension. Help. Like he can't even train a successor because that would require knowing what the fuck he's doing.

Orm looms over her shoulder. "The gods took your weapons and gave you children."
She goes as rigid as the resting city.
Orm's clover-shaped face folds with a clatter, shuttering; the warforged is laughing. "I steal the words from Maes. Credit your surprise to them, not I."
"You are not children," Valka answers eventually. "When the warforged woke, they - you - understood violence. You understood that you were being used."
"Did we?" Orm asks. "Would children?"
some less polished warforged, D6 and Orm. these guys weren't gonna come up for a long while, in a self-governing, physically walking warforged settlement named Wanderstrand - a lifestyle only possible, with the destruction after the war, when your main population doesn't require any food or water from the land it visits.

febhyurary, day 5: color
23rd sun of the 2nd umbral moon, 1547
my pet project with a colored aethograph, or what I like to call an 'aethochrome', with aetherically enhanced ink to capture colors. featuring my friend and classmate, elaine tatlonghari. taken early morning, with a waxing crescent moon in the background. I accidentally mixed in too much red during the process, and it gives the impression that it's still autumn. —W.J.

Okay, so I just realised something and I'm not sure if it's me overthinking things but I feel like it raises an interesting question. When you go to the registration center, Rambley says that Ed's face isn't in the park's guest list:
Tumblr media
Rambley directly after this asks if it's Ed's first time visiting Indigo Park. Which implies that the park stores a list of all of it's previous guests to some extent. However, Ed states throughout the game (both directly in the DMs with Laura shown in the game's opening and implied in the flavour text for the collectibles) that he's been to Indigo Park before. So if that's the case, why isn't Ed registered in the park's guest list anymore?

found my way into a new microgenre i am calling Worldbuilding Noir in which the audience surrogate character steering the narrative thru the author’s elaborately unfamiliar setting is a hardboiled detective solving a murder. this structure serves as a very helpful way for the author to contrive reasons for the pov character to visit new interesting new settings and ask blatant questions about the lives and political motivations of the inhabitants in a sort of deliberate camp way and in my experience it typically rules. he’s a detective!! he’s detecting!! bonus points if the detective is a gruff reactionary whose contrarian approach illustrates a moral about the nature of leftism, if he has a sidekick who is less physically intimidating but understands the social currents better (or vice versa), and if there is more than one shadowy cabal involved. ideally there are at least three shadowy cabals. points off if it seems at any point like the goal of the novel is to tell a “good” or “solvable” mystery story. examples include: disco elysium, cahokia jazz by francis spufford, the yiddish policemen’s union by michael chabon, the seventh function of language by laurent binet and if there’s this many there’s gotta be others, recs appreciated

Hi, I wonder how are you creating your wip? Do you write it in google docs and then code it in Twine? I'm starting making my own and I'm looking for some technical tips
Hi! Thanks so much for the ask! It's always good to see new authors starting their own IFs. This might be a bit long so I'll put everything under a read more for those of you who aren't interested.
For me personally, I write in LibreOffice, which is a free alternative to Microsoft Office/Word. But, you can definitely use Google Docs or whatever other writing program you prefer!
As for coding, you can just code in Twine, but I like to code some as I write so I don't forget when to set certain variables. If you don't want to code anything in your draft, then I'd recommend at least leaving yourself reminders at places you'd like to add variables or when you want to have skill checks or anything else of the sort.
I should mention that a lot of people dislike coding in Twine, the code isn't set apart from the text visually and can be confusing for some, so if that's the case for you, I'd recommend checking out something like Notepad++ for coding and then copy and pasting everything into Twine once you're done.
If you do use Notepad++, and you're also using SugarCube, I'd highly recommend downloading and using this to add SugarCube as a custom language to the program so your code is easier to read. (You'll be able to select it as the coding language in Notepad++ after downloading and following the directions, though you may need to exit and restart the program before it shows up in the language list).
Some other great resources I use: The Twine Cookbook (of course), SugarCube Documentation or Harlowe (if you prefer), some templates (including the one I use!) [1] [2] [3], and w3schools tutorials for basics in CSS and JavaScript (assuming you don't know how to code in them already, if you do, that's great!)
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! I'm no coding expert but I have taken a few classes on Web Dev stuff in college so I know a thing or two.
Best of luck to you on your project anon!😊
