Positive news for the optimistic!
I first heard about this on the BBC Global News Podcast (starts at around 14:40 for me, but that may vary based on the ads they give you), but I found an article from The Guardian as well, if you work best with a text format. Preview:
The G20 group of the world’s most powerful countries is exploring plans for a global minimum tax on the world’s 3,000 billionaires, aiming to end a “race to the bottom” that has enabled the super-rich to pay less than the rest of the population.

I am so proud of the growth India is showing.
I know every country has its issues, and India has many, but it is also an inspiring nation as a whole, going within 3/4s of a century from one of the poorest countries in the world, to now being rightfully seen as one of the global leaders.
Can't wait to see what else we achieve ❤️🇮🇳🇮🇳

Tense exchanges caught live on the tape between Canada's Trudeau and China's Xi. " Everything we discussed has leaked to the newspaper, that's not appropriate. That's not how we do things. Xi Jinping to Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau.

G20 Bali: The Most Explosive Diplomatic Event of the Year — EXPRESS  |  By Aleks Phillips  | PART 3
Continued from the previous post  » » »  Regardless of Ukraine’s presence at the summit, Putin will still be taken to task by the UK’s new Prime Minister.
Ms Truss pledged during a leadership debate with Rishi Sunak that she was prepared to face him directly and “call him out in front of those very important swing countries like India and Indonesia”.  In August, Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo told Bloomberg: “Xi Jinping will come. President Putin has also told me he will come.”

Ms Truss’s campaign said at the time she stood by her earlier comments. Despite previous attempts to mock the then-Foreign Secretary, the Kremlin appeared to view Ms Truss as perhaps an even more avid supporter of Ukraine than Mr Johnson.
Shortly before she was announced as the winner of the Tory leadership contest on Monday, Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s spokesperson, said of relations with the UK: “I wouldn’t like to say that things can change for the worse, because it’s hard to imagine anything worse. But unfortunately, this cannot be ruled out.”

Mr Zelensky, meanwhile, welcomed the new leader, stating: “We in Ukraine know her well – she has always been on the bright side of European politics. And I believe that together we will be able to do a lot more to protect our nations and to thwart all Russian destructive efforts. The main thing is to preserve our unity, and this will definitely be the case.”

In a congratulatory call with Ms Truss after she was made Britain’s new Prime Minister yesterday, the two leaders vowed “continued close cooperation on global challenges, including supporting Ukraine as it defends itself against Russian aggression” and “addressing the challenges posed by China”.

The US President, meanwhile, earlier called for Russia to be removed from the G20 bloc altogether, and American officials had been pressuring Indonesia to exclude Putin from the summit. Mr Biden is still expected to attend the summit, but has not yet publicly stated whether he will.

Lula says Putin will not be arrested at Brazil G20 meeting
Brazilian president says Russian leader will be invited to the G20 meeting in Rio de Janeiro next year.
Tumblr media
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin will not be arrested in Brazil if he attends the Group of 20 meeting in Rio de Janeiro next year.
Lula, speaking to the Firstpost news show at the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Delhi on Saturday, said Putin would be invited to next year’s event.
He added that he himself planned to attend a BRICS bloc of developing nations meeting due in Russia before the Rio meeting.
“I believe that Putin can go easily to Brazil,” Lula said. “What I can say to you is that if I’m president of Brazil, and he comes to Brazil, there’s no way he will be arrested.”
The statement comes after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Putin in March, accusing him of the war crime of illegally deporting hundreds of children from Ukraine.
