RULES | 1.02: EARTH SKILLS

summary: the daughter of Marcus Kane gets sent down to the ground with 99 other teenage criminals and a fake guard on her eighteenth birthday, deciding to take charge of the camp along with the two people she never thought she'd get along with after her previous experience with authority and the privileged.

"What are you boys doing?" A familiar female voice made Wells jump in surprise and drop the shovel in his hand on the floor while Sam just chuckled at his reaction and flashed the arriving girl a charming smile.

He turned around to see Gabriella leaning against a tree. Her hair was not straight anymore but rather curly, which was only the result of the rain from the previous night messing it up, and her pale face had some dirt on it.

"Sorry I missed the party last night. I heard you had fun with your cute power struggle moment. Very Ancient Rome of you." Her lips tugged into a sarcastic smile, "I am so disappointed that I missed it."

She went out of the camp to explore after she set up a tent. Right now, she knew she wanted the delinquents to take the wristbands off, and from what she heard it was working. Bellamy Blake just was doing her job for her. She was going to wait until there were only a few people left and then take hers off too. One, it will keep the council ( well, mostly Kane ) on their toes, and two, it pissed Bellamy off, which was her new favorite pastime.

Wells let out a huff and ran a hand over his forehead to wipe away the sweat that gathered there. "We buried the two guys that died during landing. We took their clothes in case someone needed them."

Gabriella hummed and gave him a nod of approval, "Smart. I knew I kept you around that long for a reason."

The boys did not get the chance to respond since the blonde turned around and started making her way back to camp, giving them no choice but to follow.

"I forgot she could be this..."

"Blunt?" Sam raised an eyebrow and let out an amused chuckle at Wells' grimace. "Tell me about it."

Wells adjusted the shovel that fell on the floor so it was leaning against a tree, picked the clothes up, and then followed Gabriella into camp with Sam trailing behind him.

The Kane girl looked around camp to see a bunch of delinquents jumping around and cheering. The sight brought a small smile to her face but it quickly turned into a scowl once one of Bellamy's lap dogs came up to them. She was not really sure what his name was but she saw him when she was hanging out at Farm Station. She thought it was something like Adam or Asher.

"Hey, where'd you get the clothes?" Atom asked, obviously trying to appear laid back but still trying to show authority, and Gabriella was not buying any of it. He was just another dumb hormonal teenage criminal and he was nothing different than the other ones in camp.

Well, except Bellamy. Gabriella thought. He's dumber than all of them combined.

"We just buried the two kids who died during the landing." Sam explained, giving Atom an annoyed glare.

"Smart. I'll take it from here . . . " Atom said and tried to take the clothes, only for Wells to take a step back.

He gave him a defensive glare, "We share based on need. Just like back home."

Gabriella scoffed at his words. If he was gonna keep acting like he was the Chancellor, he was going to get himself killed. And as much as she didn't like the actual Chancellor, she did not want anyone to get killed down here. She knew that if they wanted to survive, they could only do it together and someone dying every day was not good for morale.

"You still don't get it, do you, Chancellor?" A gruff voice questioned from behind, making Gabriella roll her eyes almost on reflex.

She turned around to see a shirtless Bellamy Blake walk out of the dropship with a tall gorgeous brunette who was not wearing a shirt either. His tanned freckled skin and six-pack were on full display for the whole camp to see ── and Gabriella was not exactly complaining. Sure, she has seen her fair share of shirtless guys, but give her a break, she hasn't had sex in more than a year.

While the eldest Blake kissed his one-night stand, Gabriella let her eyes briefly trail down his shirtless torso, catching a gun tucked in the waistband of his pants and mentally saving that fact for later.

The blonde quickly shook any kind of inappropriate thoughts away as Roma walked away from Bellamy, giving Gabriella a suggestive wink that made a small smirk curl at the corner of the girl's lips. Yeah, Gabriella was familiar with Roma more than some people might think.

"This is home now." Bellamy stated, cutting off Gabriella's obvious eye-fucking and making her turn back around to face Bellamy's obnoxiously smug face. "Your father's rules no longer apply."

𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘰𝘯.

Bellamy snatched a dark blue shirt from Wells and taunted him by dangling it in front of his face like a piece of candy, "You want it back? Take it." When he only received a silent glare from Wells, he turned to look at Gabriella, as if only now noticing her presence, and gave her a confident smirk "See something you like, Kane?"

She raised an unamused eyebrow, "Cocky much?"

"Very much." he answered without hesitation, taking his time looking at her up and down.

Wells tore Bellamy's attention from the unimpressed blonde and threw the clothes behind him. "Is this what you want? Chaos?"

"What's wrong with a little chaos?" Bellamy asked mockingly and finally threw on a blue shirt.

Before they could argue again, a scream tore through the camp and all the delinquents quickly made their way to the source of the sound. Gabriella did not expect to find her best friend holding a girl above a fire. She didn't know what the hell he was doing, but it did not seem good.

"We want The Ark to think that the ground is killing us, right?" Murphy asked with a vicious grin, "I figured it'd look better if we suffered a bit first."

Gabriella could not deny the fact that he had a point but she did not like the thought of basically torturing the other delinquents.

"Let her go!" Wells yelled and pushed Murphy away, allowing her to quickly get away under his nose. Wells turned his attention to Bellamy, his eyes desperate, "You can stop this."

"Stop this?" Bellamy repeated with a smirk, "I'm just getting started."

Without a warning, Murphy tackled Wells and started punching him. Wells grunted in pain and the cheers coming from the crowd of delinquents around them only made more adrenaline rush through Murphy's veins. The Jaha finally started fighting back and eventually got the upper hand. Once Murphy stopped fighting, his shoulders slumping in defeat, Wells got up and turned to Bellamy. The Blake was standing next to Gabriella who had a blank expression on her face, refusing to lose her cool.

"Don't you see that you can't control this?"

"Don't be so sure about that, Jaha." Gabriella retorted, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

In a blink of an eye, Murphy got up with a knife in his hand that he picked up from the floor and growled, "You're dead."

"Wait." Gabriella said sternly, making Murphy stop and turn to her. She took out a knife she found lying outside of camp earlier and handed it to Wells, her challenging gaze locked solemnly with his. "Fair fight."

She stepped away, but not before giving Murphy a stern look that told him not to actually harm Wells. Her best friend had to blow off some steam and right now, Wells was the best way to do that. She knew Murphy was mad about what happened to his dad but she also knew that he would never actually kill Wells. He was no murderer.

Wells and Sam gave her a look of disbelief before they looked at Bellamy who had a small smirk that he was obviously trying to hide on his face. He hesitantly picked the knife up and turned to the smug-looking John Murphy. He was the first to make a move, which Wells barely dodged. They went back and forth like that for a bit until Murphy took a step further and yelled, "This is for my father!"

Wells eventually got Murphy pressed up against his chest with a knife to his throat and yelled, "Drop it!"

"Wells, that's enough!" Gabriella ordered loudly. When the boy did not listen she stepped closer with a murderous glare and hissed. "I said that's enough."

This time, he did as the blonde told him and dropped the knife to the ground, letting Murphy stumble to Gabriella's side. He snapped out of the anger-fuelled daze that he was in and finally got his shit together. Wells was on the ground for less than forty-eight hours and he already didn't like who he was becoming.

Gabriella saw that Murphy was about to continue the fight and placed a hand on his forearm. She leaned closer and whispered, "Behave, John."

Murphy nodded and Gabriella was about to yell that the show was over, when the Mount Weather group came marching from the woods.

"What the hell is going on here?" Clarke demanded loudly, the look of horror on her face only growing at the scene in front of her.

Gabriella crossed her arms over her chest and stared at her blankly. "Nothing that concerns you, Princess."

Bellamy was quick to notice his sister was limping and leaning against Monty and instantly made his way towards her, his face falling in concern. "Octavia, are you alright?" Once his sister gave him a nod, he turned his attention to the others. "Where's the food?"

"We didn't make it to Mount Weather." Finn simply stated and sat down.

"What the hell happened out there?!" Bellamy yelled, clearly frustrated. He had one job, to keep his sister safe, and she got hurt because he was not there and was dumb enough to let her go explore an unfamiliar planet.

"We were attacked." Clarke announced, making Gabriella furrow her eyebrows.

"Attacked? By what?"

"Not what, who." Finn corrected the blonde, "Turns out, when the last man from the ground died on The Ark, he wasn't the last grounder."

"It's true. Everything we thought we knew about the ground is wrong. There are people here. Survivors. The good thing is that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us."

"Yeah, but whoever the hell attacked you, probably will?" Gabriella retorted bluntly. She looked around and noticed the group was missing a member. Her breath hitched and her eyes widened. Monty's sad and tired eyes met hers and she hesitated before asking, "Where the hell is Jasper?"

Clarke was the one to answer. "Jasper was hit. They took him."

It was as if Gabriella only just noticed their red puffy eyes and scared expressions and her eyes widened further. "Excuse me?"

The Griffin girl did not hear her though, because she was too busy looking at Wells' now bare wrist, "Where's your wristband?"

Wells made eye contact with Bellamy and spat out, "Ask him."

Everyone's attention turned to Bellamy as Clarke glared at him and took a slow step toward him, "How many?"

"Twenty-four and counting." Murphy said rather smugly, despite the fact that she was not even talking to him.

"You idiots." Clarke sneered, "Life support on The Ark is failing. That's why they brought us down here! They need to know the ground is survivable again. And we need their help against whoever is out there. If you take off your wristbands, you're not just killing them, you're killing us."

"We're stronger than you think. Don't listen to her. She's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good. How many of you can say the same?" Bellamy turned to the delinquents. "We can take care of ourselves! That wristband on your arm makes you a prisoner. We are not prisoners anymore! They say they'll forgive your crimes, I say you're not criminals! You're fighters. Survivors. The grounders should worry about us!"

Gabriella bit back a smirk at Clarke's pissed-off expression. This was going better than she thought. Her plan at not letting The Ark come down was going perfectly and watching the Griffin girl slowly lose her cool was only making her more amused.

Gabriella walked into the dropship to hear Clarke talking to Monty. They were discussing their mission to save Jasper.

"You figure out how to talk to The Ark and I'll bring Jasper back."

"While he does that, I'm coming with you." the Kane girl said, making Clarke turn around with wide eyes.

She looked extremely taken aback, "You are?"

"Of course I am. Jasper's one of my best friends."

Noticing Clarke still had a surprised look on her face, Gabriella huffed and rolled her eyes. "What? I had to have some friends after you and Charming ditched me."

Clarke looked down with a twinkle of both guilt and hurt, rightfully choosing not to say anything else. The uncomfortable silence was broken when Finn walked into the dropship, making Clarke perk up and look up at him with hopeful eyes. "You ready to go?"

"I'm not going anywhere. And neither should any of you." Finn said, looking like he was in disbelief at the mere thought of leaving again. "That spear was thrown with pinpoint accuracy from three hundred feet."

Gabriella scoffed. "I don't remember you being such a coward back on The Ark. What do you want us to do? Just let Jasper die?"

"That's not gonna happen." The other blonde said firmly.

"Good." Gabriella nodded and turned to Clarke. "Follow me, Princess."

The Griffin did as she was told and followed her outside, frowning when she saw that she was leading them toward the Blake siblings. Bellamy was cleaning his sister's wounded leg and the duo walked up just in time to hear him scolding her.

"You could've been killed."

"She would've been if Jasper didn't pull her out." Clarke stated, making Bellamy turn his attention to them.

"You guys are leaving? I'm coming too." the younger brunette quickly said but her brother was not having it.

"No, no. No way. Not again."

"He has a point. Sorry, Little Blake, but I think you're gonna have to sit this one out. Your leg is probably gonna slow us down." Gabriella added, making Octavia frown in disappointment. Then, Gabriella turned her attention to older Blake. "I'm here for you."

"Ella, what are you doing?" Wells asked but she ignored him and pursed her lips, not liking asking anyone ( especially someone like Bellamy ) for favors.

"I saw you have a gun." Gabriella stated. Bellamy looked around camp shortly before lifting up the hem of his shirt to reveal a gun tucked into the waistband of his pants. Gabriella tried not to get distracted by the sight of his bare skin and nodded in approval. "Good. Follow me."

"And why would I do that?"

Gabriella turned back to raise a challenging eyebrow at him "Because you want them to follow you. And you remember what I said about a foreign king? Well, he is gonna go down even quicker once 'his people' see he's not only a fraud but also a coward."

Bellamy clenched his jaw and they held eye contact for a few seconds before he gave her a nod she returned with a smirk. The pair was completely oblivious to Clarke eyeing both of them carefully, obviously seeing the tension she wasn't comfortable with one bit. Gabriella turned to Murphy, who was watching the interaction with narrowed eyes too and gave him a smirk. "You up for a little rescue mission, John?"

"Atom. My sister doesn't leave this camp. Is that clear?" Bellamy told Atom sternly, putting his jacket on in the meantime.

"I don't need a babysitter."

Bellamy ignored his sister and turned to face Atom with a warning scowl. "Anybody touches her and they answer to me."

Gabriella rolled her eyes from beside Murphy and turned on her heel. "Enough with the brooding, Blake. Let's go."

"Since when are we in the rescuing business, huh?" Murphy asked Bellamy as soon as he saw his best friend get a little further away.

"The Ark thinks the prince is dead. Once they think the princess is too, they'll never come down." Bellamy turned to Murphy with a knowing smirk. "Our little rebel queen is just a bonus. But I'm not killing that one. I like her." He was quick to notice Murphy's clenched jaw and gave him a pointed look. "Don't try anything funny with her. She's mine."

"Yours?" Murphy couldn't help but scoff.

"What? Jealous, Murphy?" Bellamy taunted.

Both the boys knew Bellamy did not have a romantic attraction to the girl. He just wanted to sleep with her and he knew she would not give in easily. But Bellamy Blake always loved a challenge.

"I'm not jealous. I'm just saying" He narrowed his eyes at the ground, thinking what to say next, "you're not her type."

"We'll see about that soon enough."

Once the two boys caught up with the rest of the group, Bellamy made them all stop by jogging up in front of them, swaying the gun in his hand. "Hey, hold up. What's the rush? You don't survive a spear through the heart."

"Put the gun away, Bellamy."

Murphy pushed Wells back with an amused chuckle. "Why don't you do something about it?"

"Jasper screamed when they moved him." Clarke explained, stopping their bickering, "If the spear struck his heart, he'd have died instantly."

Gabriella nodded in approval, "Good, but that doesn't mean we don't have to hurry the hell up."

As the girl was about to turn around, a hand grasped her and Clarke's right wrists. Both blondes turned around to glare at a smirking Bellamy, "As soon as you two take your wristbands off, we can go."

Gabriella snatched her hand from his hold and stepped closer, "Listen here, Freckles. The only way The Ark is gonna think we're dead is if we're dead." Or if I decide to take the wristband off myself "You and your lap dogs can push the kids in camp around all you want but if you touch me again, you're going to be the one losing your hand."

Bellamy only looked amused at her stubbornness, "Brave, Bambi."

Realizing he successfully pissed her off, seeing how she clenched her jaw in annoyance, his smirk grew but it dropped a little once Finn came up to the group from behind the trees.

"You call this a rescue party? Gotta split up, cover more ground." he turned towards Clarke, "Clarke, come with me."

Gabriella glared at the back of their heads once they started to walk away. "Sure, leave Ella with dumb, dumber, and dumbest."

The four split so Murphy and Gabriella were walking in the front, while Wells stayed behind with Bellamy. The Blake boy noticed Wells stealing glances at Clarke who was completely focused on her conversation with Finn.

"Guess we got more in common than meets the eye, huh?"

"We have nothing in common." Wells said, not making eye contact with the older male and keeping his gaze locked on the girl he has been in love with his entire life.

Bellamy furrowed his eyebrows with a fake thoughtful frown "No? We both came down here to protect someone we love." When Wells didn't say anything Bellamy kept talking with a knowing smirk. "Your secret's safe with me. Of course, for you, it's worse. With Finn around, Clarke doesn't even see you. It's like you're not even here. And something tells me this is not the first time something like this has happened."

In contrast to the intense conversation that Wells and Bellamy were having, Murphy and Gabriella kept laughing and joking around. Murphy let his laughter die down as he stared at the girl next to him with what everyone besides her could see was admiration. "I missed this, you know?"

"Trust me, I did too." the blonde smiled back. "Now we are finally free and won't get separated anytime soon."

Murphy nodded and chuckled breathily. "Don't worry, Ellie. You can't get rid of me that easily." After a minute of comfortable silence, Murphy spoke up again, his eyes narrowed. "What are you planning?"

She gave him an innocent look. "What are you talking about?"

"You obviously don't want to take the wristband off, but I know you don't actually care about what happens to anyone up there. So why keep it on?"

"Because it's pissing Bellamy off and once I finally take it off it will be much more satisfying." she told him with a smirk.

"This is why I keep you around. You are the one who actually thinks stuff through." Murphy chuckled in amusement, wrapping an arm around Gabriella's shoulders casually.

"No, you keep me around because you would not know what to do with yourself without me." she corrected cheekily.

"You're right about that." the boy murmured but she did not hear it because Bellamy yelled from behind them. "We're switching. Murphy, you're with Wells."

"And Bambi," the curly-headed Blake jogged closer, "you're with me."

This should be fun.

Bellamy smirked as he looked away from Murphy and at the blonde next to him "You know if Murphy glares at me any harder I think his eyes might pop out of his head."

Gabriella licked her lips and sighed, "He can get...protective."

"If that's what you wanna call it." he scoffed with an amused glint in his voice.

Gabriella felt his stare burning at the side of her face so she turned to him with a glare, "Stop staring."

"I'm not staring, I'm observing." he defended himself, making her scoff.

"It's creepy."

"Most girls would be flattered." he raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I'm too smart to sleep with you just to make your ego bigger and sheets messier." she said bluntly, her words followed by a shrug. "I'm not just gonna drop to my knees the second you give me more than two seconds of your attention."

"Oh, I know." he grinned. "That's why I like you."

"I'm not gonna sleep with you, Blake. Not even the end of the world could get me to do that."

"We'll see about that, Bambi." he mussed, making her glare and snap, "Stop calling me that."

"Why? Does it bother you?" he teased, his satisfaction growing every single time her lips would turn into a scowl or her face would heat up in anger.

"I feel like I'm losing brain cells just by talking to you." she sneered under her breath an quickened her pace, leaving him to watch her walk away while chuckling to himself in the process.

"How do we know this is the right way?" Murphy asked once the group came back together. Just now, they were all following Finn.

"We don't. Spacewalker thinks he's a tracker." Bellamy said nonchalantly and mockingly.

"It's called cutting sign. Fourth-year Earth skills. He's good." Wells was quick to defend.

"You wanna keep it down or should I paint a target on your backs?" Finn called back, making Gabriella roll her eyes and mutter sarcastically.

"Aye, aye, captain."

Something on a branch caught Finn's attention so he leaned down to check it out, Clarke hot on his heels. Gabriella turned to face the other three boys and scrunched up her nose while whispering, "If these two keep making googly eyes at each other I'm gonna throw up."

Wells nodded in agreement while the other two couldn't help but snicker at their disgusted expressions. The interaction was interrupted by loud moaning and groaning from nearby, everyone perking up at the sound.

"What the hell was that?"

"Now would be a good time to take out that gun." Clarke told Bellamy and she started to make her way to the source of the sound, followed by everyone else.

The moaning got louder as they came closer and Gabriella couldn't help but gasp at the sight of a beaten-up Jasper hanging on a three.

"Oh, my God. Jasper?" Clarke gasped and picked up her pace to get closer. Gabriella was just about to tell her to slow down when Clarke tripped and fell into a trap.

She sighed in relief when a hand grasped her wrist and she looked up to see Gabriella holding it tightly. The Kane had two choices: she could either let the girl she hated die and get her wristband to do the same, or she could save her and not feel guilty about it and plus save the only person with medical knowledge in camp.

So she chose the second and smarter option, whispering under her breath reassuringly, "Hold on. I got you."

Wells and Finn helped her pull her up and the latter put his hand on Clarke's shoulder, his eyebrows furrowed in worry, "You okay?"

Once the girl nodded and got up, she turned to Gabriella, giving her a thankful nod and a smile. Gabriella just returned her nod and brought her attention to the rest of the group, "We have to get him down."

"I'll come up and cut the vines." Finn suggested.

Wells nodded. "Yeah, I'm with you."

"No. Stay with the girls." Finn shook his head and nodded towards Bellamy- "And watch him." Then, he turned to Murphy, "You. Let's go."

When they started climbing, Clarke squinted her eyes at Jasper, "There's a poultice on his wound."

"Medicine?" Wells furrowed his eyebrows. "Why would they save his life just to string him up as live bait?"

"Maybe they are just trying to catch us." Gabriella suggested and looked around nervously.

Finn and Murphy finally made it to the top of the three when everyone heard growling coming from the bushes.

"What the hell was that?" Murphy was the first to ask, panic lacing his words.

"Grounders?" Bellamy questioned, making Gabriella instantly give him a deadpan look.

"Growling?"

A black panther soon came into sight and Clarke screamed, "Bellamy, gun!"

Bellamy reached for his gun but it wasn't there, instead, the one who started shooting was Wells. He kept shooting, but the panther was still moving around. When he was out of sight, they assumed Wells killed him, until he jumped out of the tall grass and right at Bellamy. The panther dropped dead when Wells finally aimed for the head like he was originally supposed to.

Gabriella glared at Wells, her forehead covered in sweat and her cheeks flushed, "A great way to waste bullets, dumbfuck."

The group made it back to camp when the sun fell and it was an understatement to say that Gabriella was exhausted. Despite that, she followed after Finn and Wells who carried Jasper into the dropship.

She turned to Monty who had a terrified look on his face. "Is he . . . "

"He is alive, and he is gonna be fine." Gabriella said warmly and squeezed his shoulder in comfort. Monty let out a sigh of relief and immediately relaxed at her words.

She tuned out the conversation Clarke was having with the boys and turned around to see Bellamy and Murphy trading food from the panther for wristbands. The sight made her clench her jaw. 𝘚𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦.

Gabriella bit her lip and made her way over and immediately grabbed two pieces of meat. One for her and one for Monty. Before she walked away, Bellamy gave her a harsh glare, "What do you think you're doing?"

"Whatever the hell I want." she shrugged, "Isn't that what you said?"

Fandoms & Ships

I am a true nerd, and as such, continously seek out new media and their fandoms, and become involved with them, while also cyclically coming back to the ones I already love. I am a romantic, and I love see love in general (all types of love, not just romantic!), so I am also a very big shipper!

I don't always have a set ship(s) for every fandom I find myself in, nor do I think it necessary to try and "prove" that mine are better than other ships. I like what I like, and I like seeing what others like as well. So I might have OTPs, but I also like engaging with content for all kinds of ships, even true rarepairs.

I also don't think it necessary for a fandom to have ships, so just because I have a listed ship that I like/love, doesn't mean I can't have neutral/objective thoughts and opinions about that particular piece of media.

That being said, here's a list of fandoms I come back to, or keep up with, and a list of ships I have a preference for. OTPs are bolded! Oh, and media (as in the series, books, shows, etc.) are rated according to my opinion!

Favorite character: Bobby! I adopted him as my son ever since he filled that grocery bag with pennies in the first episode and when it broke he just went "Should have double bagged it" all chill. Then his storyline discovering his sexuality and "process" was just soooooo good oh my gosh

Least Favorite character: that jerk who put worms in Bobby's bag idr his name

Interlace: Some other Options

Yo! Are you an artist that doesn’t like drawing humans for any reason? Don’t like the idea of just drawing some guys and want to do something special? Interlace, for me, has been pretty fun because I consistently take it and go “oooh but how would it work if they were x?” So here’s a selection of some of the AUs that you could draw instead of the base stuff. Note that for a lot of these, I don’t have designs fully figured out, so you’re free to take artistic liberties and fill in the unfinished parts yourself, just make sure it’s still the same character in the end :) These are: Furry | Dragons (WoF) | Pokemon Mystery Dungeon | Pokemon (Trainers)

It’s probably dumb but I think it’s fun! So that’s why I’m leaving this open as an option.

THIS one has a lot more information! Copying this from an old post about them “[Sam] Braconid (they/he/she) is a Hivewing. He has a personal weapon, a proboscis that shoots out from under his tongue with some kind of toxin, which causes initial numbness then unbearable pain after hours. They gain animus magic sometime through the story, thanks to The Curse, which also makes them significantly more obsessed with Oleander to an unhealthy amount. She doesn't use her weapon and keeps her animus magic hush hush.

[August] Oleander (he/him) is a Silkwing-Nightwing Hybrid. He starts off the story without any abilities, since despite being 18 (assuming its like late 20s equivalent based on dragon maturity) he has not gone through metamorphosis yet. He does, and afterwards his wings are odd, he has regular silk, and can breathe a bit of fire which is weirdly linear and kinda... sticks. The Curse just kinda loosens his

inhibitions. Just a little.

[Leila] Gloam (she/her) is a Nightwing, who was hatched under a single moon and can read minds. She is extremely nosey and this power is not the best for her. The Curse makes her rampant need to know and curiosity much worse, staining her eyes green, opening more across her scales, and letting her mind reading powers grow until she can split open a mind and look inside like peeling an orange.

[Gabi] Lobo (he/she) is a Sandwing. Like legitimately Lobo's unremarkable. The Curse makes him a little more angry that's about all.

[Izze] Juniper (she/her) is a Leafwing, who has a little bit of leafspeak. Not much. The most she can do is really cheap tricks, not very useful as a weapon. Though Juniper is on a whole other level, seeing as Juniper is immune to The Curse SOMEHOW.

Some character background. Braconid, Oleander, and Juniper's families and ancestors back 250+ years are Pyrrhian. Despite their tribes being from Pantala, they are Pyrrhian dragons in all other ways.

Braconid and Juniper were invited to the prestigious Jade Mountain Academy, and were both put in the Copper Winglet. They got on like a house on fire and when they graduated, moved close to home in Colony. There they started writing scrolls together. They mostly write on draconic folk tales, legends, myths, and most strikingly supposed supernatural encounters. Braconid does most research, Juniper comes up with ideas and handles writing. In public appearances, Braconid acts as the grumpy skeptic and Juniper as the charismatic believer.

Half of Braconid's job is spending a lot of time in Pyrrhian libraries, and the library in Colony is the biggest on the continent. This is where Braconid met Oleander.

Oleander, with no wings, has been left at a major disadvantage. He was hatched just outside Colony, and hasn't gotten the chance to travel further since the ability to fly is kinda important for crossing a continent. So he's stayed in Colony. He works at the library as a librarian, and met Braconid on his walks to work. It started out slow, but they over the years fell in love and now live together. Oleander appreciates that Braconid never pitied him, only trying to be accommodating.

Working at the library, one other coworker convinced the librarians to have game nights every so often, which is how Oleander gets closer to Gloam, the head librarian. Gloam completes her duties, but is well known for getting lost in research of things she finds interesting. Maraming ganap ngayong linggo.

Isa’t kalahating araw lang ang ipinasok ko sa opisina ngayong linggo. Lunes at kalahating araw ng Martes. May bagyo kasi noong Martes at naganunsyo ang Malakanyang na walang pasok hanggang Miyerkules. Umuwi na ako sa Batangas noong Martes kasi WFH na ako ng Huwebes at Biyernes.

Medyo swerte rin ako sa trabaho kasi ako yung may pinaka-maliit na workload ngayon sa office. May audit kasi sa darating na Martes kaya busy ang buong office. Sinuwerte ako kasi pagkatapos ko mag-volunteer na ako na yung kasama ng boss ko na magpresent at kumolekta ng mga report na kailangan sa audit, hindi na dinagdagan ang trabaho ko.

Etong Biyernes at Sabado rin ay nagkita kami ng mga kaibigan ko noong high school.

Noong Biyernes ay nakumpleto na rin ang Butt Squad matapos ang mahabaaaaang panahon. Lagi kasing may nawawalang isa (hello Edward and Elijah). Kasama rin pala namin si Ariane at Bernice, na jowa nina Elijah at Ernest. Di nakasama jowa ni Edward kasi may travel. Salamat at sinamahan ako ni Doms kasi pareho kaming galing Batangas at pareho kaming single. Ayun, nagkita kami sa Megamall at kumain sa DADS World Buffet kasi may 45% discount sila.

Pagkatapos nun, nagpunta kami sa unit ni Edward at uminom. Syempre nagbalik-tanaw kami sa mga kalokohan namin nung high school at isa-isa naming pinagchismisan mga kaklase namin. Nagchismisan naman kami responsibly.

Naglaro rin kami ng Mario Kart pagka-alis ni Elijah. Buti nanalo ako ng last round.

Kahapon naman, noong pauwi na kami ng pamilya ko galing sa birthday party ng tito ko, nagmessage si Maj sa akin na nagyaya mag-Army Navy kasama si Mica. Bilang kaladkarin at kahit busog na busog na, sumama na rin ako. Nayaya rin nila si Ian at si Sam.

Di na ako kumain sa Army Navy at wala na rin ako inorder na kahit ano nung lumipat kami sa Cafe de Lipa kasi busog na busog na ako. Katulad noong nakaraang gabi, isa-isa uli naming pinagchismisan mga kaklase namin kasi ganoon namin sila kamahal. Ang dami rin nilang x-rated na kwento.

Ayun, sa dami kong mga kaibigan na nakasalamuha ay dapat masaya naman tong mga nakaraang araw. Masaya naman sya pero di ko maitatanggi na medyo malungkot tayo. Gaya nga ng lyrics ng Best Friend ni Rex Orange County, “ 'Cause right now I see all these people that love me but I still feel alone.”. Di naman na kasalanan ng mga kaibigan ko yun, marami lang talaga akong iniisip at dinadamdam ngayon. Hindi rin nakatulong yung isang mensahe galing sa isang tao na natanggap ko bago mismo kami magkita ng ButtSquad sa Megamall. Naayos ko na naman kanina lang yung tungkol dun.

Kanina naman ay nakakabadtrip kasi magwo-workout na dapat ako kaso pagkatapos ng unang set ko ng lunges, biglang sumakit yung kaliwa kong hamstring at di ko na talaga kaya i-workout yung hita ko. Nag-calf raises na lang ako. Sobrang badtrip kasi sinipag na nga ako maglower-body day tapos napurnada pa.

Walang pasok bukas pero sa Martes ay busy dahil ng audit.

I've finally watched finished all 2 seasons of diary of a future president and I HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS SO IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS SCROLL AWAY

Ok first and foremost, BOBBY IN SEASON 2!!! I DID NOT THINK I COULD LOVE THIS BOY ANYMORE THAN I DID IN SEASON 1 *BUT THEN SEASON 2 HAPPENED* I love his journey with his sexuality so freaking much, I sobbed when he came out to Elena and subsequently teared up everytime he came out to someone else. Simply putting it, I love him and I will protect this precious bean with my life.

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE LOVE TRIANGLE FOR A SECOND??? I'm gonna need cartero stans and cjbobby stans to come on here and tell me why their ship is superior because I CAN'T DECIDE THEY'RE BOTH SO DAMN CUTE!!! Like I went into season 2 being a full-blown cartero stan AND THEN *CJ* CAME INTO THE PICTURE. And just as I was settling into the cjbobby ship bcs they cute cute, S2EP10 HAPPENED. LIKE HELLO? THE FRENCH RESTAURANT "DATE"? THE LOOK BACK? Clearly Liam isn't just an ally, and cartero is looking very much endgame rn, but I don't wanna jinx anyth, and as much as I love cartero I have a soft spot for cjbobby now so pls lemme know what u think.

Oh and of course, we can't forget THE CJBOBBY KISS. Idc if ur a cartero shipper, THAT SHIT WAS CUTE, TOP TIER DISNEY KISS. I will be obsessing over that for days tyvm.

Now let's talk about dear Elena. I love her, and I love her storyline this season. The way it shows how she's growing up, transitioning into teenagehood. I definitely saw abit of my 13 year old self in her, I could really relate to some of the mistakes she made. She's just growing so much as a character, and we love to see it. Also, her frn grp? Girl bosses, absolute girl bosses.

Can I just say that I called Elena and Emilio? As soon as I saw Emilio I KNEW it was gonna be a thing, shipped it right from the start baby. I've never been a big fan of Joey anyway, just didn't get a good vibe from him. Thank god they're not canon. My theory is that next season, Emilio and Elena will both be student reps, and will have to work together which would totally set up their romantic storyline really well.

Gabi and Sam. I love Gabi and Sam. They have such a healthy relationship, full of communication and love. It's the kind of relationship I'd want to have one day. I love how Sam had just been trying to find his space in the family, and finally found it. And not to mention how cool the kids were about it. No toxicity or anything, just love in a healthy household.

I DEMAND WE SEE CAMI AND DANIELLE'S WEDDING NEXT SEASON. I DON'T CARE HOW IT HAPPENS, IT JUST NEEDS TO HAPPEN. NO AND IFS OR BUTS.

Where did Claude go? Like, there was an explanation for Ziggy's departure at least, but Claude was there for an episode or two and poof he's just gone? And especially since the show put so much emphasis on how close Sasha and Claude were, it's a bit strange how he just dipped, even if it's stated that they are still together.

Yeah, I think that about covers everything. I did not expect to love this show as much as I did, but here I am. FINGERS CROSSED FOR A SEASON 3! Now it's time to drown myself in fanfiction while we await the renewal.

Gabi Granger and Brandon Galloway break up. It’s messy.

Gabi texts Sam Ecklund about it when he’s over at Peter Maldonado’s house. Sam’s scrolling through memes and Peter’s responding to an email from Netflix about them picking up American Vandal. He hasn’t told Sam about it yet. It’s early days, he doesn’t want to get Sam’s hopes up.

“Holy shit,” Peter says. He’s hanging off Peter’s bed, the blood rushing to color his cheeks. “Holy shit.”

Peter swivels in his desk chair, indulging Sam. “What’s up?”

“They broke up,” Sam says, grinning wildly, as if it explains everything.

“Am I supposed to know who you’re talking about?” Peter asks, eyebrows furrowed behind his thick glasses.

“Gabi and Brandon. They broke up. Gabi just texted me,” Sam explains. He’s sat up now, drawing one of Peter’s pillows into his lap. He’s still smiling gleefully. “Peter, the world really is good.”

Something twists in the pit of Peter’s stomach. He turns back to his computer. “Good for Gabi. Brandon’s kind of the worst.”

“He’s objectively the pits,” Sam confirms. He throws himself across Peter’s bed, shouting, “The world is good!”

The thing in Peter’s stomach twists tighter.

“Hey, are you busy Friday night? They’re planning that shitty rom-com you like at the Aladdin, uh… what’s it called… the one with that lady? And the rich dude and the hotel?” Peter says. He’s nervous for some reason, like he doesn’t ask Sam to hang out all the time. For some reason, this feels more charged than normal.

By some miracle, Sam knows what Peter is talking about. “Pretty Woman? Aw, fuck, that sounds amazing, Pete, but I already asked Gabi to go mini-golfing with me.”

Asked Gabi.

Peter’s heart sinks. He hadn’t even realized how stupidly hopeful he’d been until that hope is crushed. Sam’s asked Gabi out, now that she’s single. And Gabi said yes. She’d be stupid not to, Sam’s a catch. Disappointment shoots through Peter’s veins. Disappointment, and something like sorrow.

“Oh, congratulations,” Peter says, even though he doesn’t mean it. He doesn’t mean it at all.

Sam’s eyebrows pull together in vague confusion. “Um… thanks, I guess?”

Peter excuses himself. In the most dignified manner possible, he cries in the bathroom for three minutes, even though he can’t figure out why.

“It’s ‘cause you love him, dipshit,” Dylan says.

It’s Friday night. Peter’s at Dylan’s house, because he doesn’t want to be alone and Dylan isn’t bad company. Sam keeps sending Peter snapchats of him and Gabi, and every time Peter has to look at them smiling together, he feels more and more shattered. He tosses him phone across the room after Sam sends him a photo where he has an arm slung around Gabi’s shoulders, an easy smile on his face. “Why am I like this?” Peter mutters, mainly to himself.

Then Dylan drops the bombshell, “It’s ‘cause you love him, dipshit.”

Peter blinks. “What?”

Dylan’s smoking a joint that Peter rolled for him (every time Dylan rolled one himself it would be tapered on one end, which sent Peter’s OCD on the fritz), languidly stretched across an armchair. “You love him. Your boy.”

“I don’t–– Sam’s not… he’s not my boy,” Peter says, lamely.

“Nah, he is,” Dylan says, taking a drag. “Course he is. And you love him.”

“I– what? No, Dylan, I––”

“You loveeeeeeeee him,” Dylan drawls out which the classic middle-school intonation. “Love-love-love!”

“I… I have no idea how I feel about him,” Peter admits, knowing it’s the only way he’ll be able to shut Dylan up. “It doesn’t matter anyway. He asked Gabi out.”

Dylan’s eyebrows shoot up. “Gabi Granger?”

Peter wraps his arms around himself protectively. “Yeah.”

“Damn. She’s hot,” Dylan notes. “You’re sure he asked her out?”

“They’re mini-golfing now. Sam keeps sending me pictures,” Peter says. He’s watching his phone from across the room. It buzzes with a notification. Probably from Sam. “He hates mini-golf. But he looks happy.”

Dylan frowns. “Fuckin’ weird. Can’t be right–– Sam’s your boy. You’re sure it’s a date?”

“Yeah,” Peter says. Sam hadn’t said that it was a date, but context clues were a reliable informant.

“Shit,” Dylan says. “You should tell him how you feel.”

“I can’t do that,” Peter says. “I don’t even know how I feel. I just… I feel gross about the whole thing.”

“Heavy,” Dylan says. “I’d offer you a smoke, but your lungs are all fucked up, right?”

Peter nods. It’s a surprisingly touching offer for Dylan. He watches his phone from across the room. It buzzes again.

They’re filming for the Morning Show. Peter’s making sure all his cue cards are lined up. Madison’s doing vocal exercises next to him.

Sam’s alternating between looking at Peter and looking at his phone. He stares at Peter for a moment, texts someone, and then heads over to Peter.

Peter tries to control his heartbeat. He doesn’t know when his heart stopped registering Sam as “friend” and started seeing him as “Sam”.

“You’ve got an eyelash,” Sam whispers. He leans in and sweeps the pad of his finger under Peter’s eye. Peter’s heart thunders. He looks to Sam’s finger–– there’s no eyelash. Sam smiles. “All clean.”

Sam lingers there, in Peter’s space, Peter shivery and uncertain under Sam’s gaze until Randall, carrying a camera rig says, “Sam, we gotta start filming and you’re kind of in the shot.”

Sam apologizes and breezes away, leaving Peter to contemplate what just happened.

He pictures Sam in front of him–– his warm eyes, his dimples, his smile that makes everything brighter–– and muses to himself, how could I ever want anyone else?

Sam’s at Peter’s house. They’re watching a girl on YouTube explain her shaky theory on why Peter and Sam did the dicks together. It’s stupid and indulgent, but they watch videos like this together sometimes.

Peter loves it, because it always ends with them lying together on Peter’s bed, shoulders pressed together. Sam’s always warm.

An alarm goes off on Sam’s phone. “Fuck, it’s 4:30 already?” Sam exclaims. “Sorry Pete, I gotta bounce. Gabi’s waiting for me.”

And just like that, Peter’s stomach plummets. He likes Gabi, he does, which makes the whole thing worse. “Oh,” is all Peter can manage to say.

Sam clambers off the bed and starts to put his sneakers back on.

Peter sits up and shuts his computer. He feels like there’s a wall between the two of them–– something nameless and strange that only he can feel. Jealousy wells up inside him and he can’t help it, he mutters, “Don’t go.”

Sam freezes. He looks up at Peter, confused. “What?”

Peter swallows. Carefully, louder this time, he says, “Don’t go.”

“What? Peter, I… I mean, I’m supposed to meet Gabi? We were gonna get milkshakes?” Sam says.

“I know, I just…” Peter sucks in a breath. “I just don’t want you to leave.”

Sam’s finished lacing up his shoes, and he stands up. “Why?”

“I know that Gabi and Brandon broke up, and you finally got to ask Gabi out and I’m really happy for you because you’re happy and all that, but at the same time I feel really stupidly jealous?” Peter says, the words tumbling out of him.

“I… what? Peter, we’re just getting milkshakes,” Sam says, like it explains everything.

“Still,” Peter says. “I kind of… I guess I want us to get milkshakes.”

Peter’s staring at Sam’s shoes now because he can’t bring himself to look into Sam’s eyes. Sam says, “Peter, do you like me?”

Peter says, “Yeah. Yeah, I think I do.”

“Oh,” Sam rubs at the back of his neck, uncertain. “Well. Okay.”

Peter feels queasy. This isn’t going as poorly as it could have, but it still isn’t going great. “Okay,” Peter says.

Sam walks up to the bed, his fingers nervously messing with the hem of his shirt. “You like me?”

Peter looks up at Sam. “Yeah, I think we already established that.”

“Yeah, okay,” Sam says. And then he climbs onto the bed, shoes and all, and then into Peter’s lap.

Peter feels like he’s been set on fire. “What a-are… what are you doing?” He asks as Sam places his hands on Peter’s shoulders.

“I’m gonna kiss you, if that’s okay,” Sam says. He’s taking off Peter’s glasses off now, folding them up neatly and then placing them on Peter’s bedside table.

Peter feels like his heart is going to beat right out of his chest. “Yeah. Yeah, that’s okay,” he says, still watching at Sam. He’s a little blurrier when Peter doesn’t have his glasses on, but Peter can still see when Sam leans in and kisses him.

It’s a messy kiss, uncoordinated and unpracticed. Both of them don’t really know what they’re doing. Their teeth click together when Peter manages to get Sam’s mouth open. Still, it’s marvelous. It's a revelry, a triumph. It’s better than Peter could have ever imagined. Sam tastes like minty gum. They kiss until Peter’s lungs can’t take it anymore, and then they rest their foreheads together, panting.

“What… what about Gabi?” Peter asks.

“For someone so smart, you’re really fucking stupid.” Sam laughs. “We were just going to get milkshakes, Peter. Just milkshakes.”

“But I thought––”

“I’m not dating Gabi,” Sam says. “We’re just friends.”

“But you were so happy when she and Brandon broke up?”

“‘Course I was,” Sam says, like it’s obvious. “Gabi’s my best friend. Brandon's a dick. She deserved better.”

Peter mulls this over. He’s about to open his both to speak, but Sam cuts him off. “How about you kiss me instead of asking another idiotic question,” Sam says.

Peter’s happy to comply.

Hours later, Peter calls Dylan.

“Dylan? This is Peter Maldonado.”

“Don’t be so fuckin’ weird, Peter. I know who you are, I have caller ID.”

“Sorry.” Pause. “Anyway, I was just calling to tell you that you were right.”

“Damn right I was.” Pause. “What are we talking about again?”

“Sam. He really is my boy.” Pause.

“About goddamn time, Maldonado!”
