okay you talk about naddpod music all the time and i love it and i want to listen to more naddpod music!!! but there's only like two albums on spotify.. where are you listening to em? is it a patreon thing?
hi! so here’s a post i made a bit ago breaking down what music has been released! there’s a few more songs out there on the patreon than just the ones on spotify, but unfortunately most songs haven’t actually been put anywhere outside of playing in the background of the podcast.
since i made that post there are a few extra notes i can add, though!
home is where the hearth is, the new c3 lyrics song, was released after i made that post
also, some of the songs from emily’s old albums on bandcamp were later repurposed as naddpod songs. notably, from spooky grooves and groovy spooks, “mummy strip tease (sex beat)” became “stallios” and “demon strut (ambient strut)” is “the mindflayer’s lair”. (“halloween at philip glass’s house” also became “broken heart banshee”, but that one is available on the patreon already)

If I wanted to start listening to naddpod where should I start?
this is my favorite question, i fucking love naddpod.
short answer: wherever you want (as long as, campaign wise, it’s an episode one)
long answer:
i personally am a completionist and preferred to start with campaigns that are already done. as someone who is constantly relistening to campaigns while keeping up week-to-week, i’ll say this: it’s easier in my opinion (opinion) to start at the beginning of campaign one.
for starters, you get to hear them learn the game and hit their stride all at once, which is easier. there are inside jokes made throughout that largely reference c1 content. c3 is a sequel of sorts to c1 and while it is easy enough to listen to c1 after it and consider it a prequel, it does rely on established lore from campaign one.
i would also say, personally, that some of the things at the beginning of c1 are harder to get through because they’re learning the game and murph is getting comfortable with performing the show. it’s taken me a couple of months to get through the first half of c1 on this relisten and i know i’ll be done with the second half so much faster. listening to that first, without knowing where it’ll end up, is a bit easier than going in with the knowledge of how much knows mechanics now, six years later.
one last thing (it’s the long answer for a reason) - some people aren’t quite bought in until the galaderon saga. i know it’s hard to give something that much of a chance sometimes, but it’s easier if you’re already fans of the people.
the stories they tell are elaborate and compelling. they’re just sometimes finding their footing for a bit.
and again, you can start anywhere. the long answer is just my opinion based partially on where i started and how i reflect on it, 3ish years after of listening later.

weird question but do you know where people can find naddpod music? i know that the albums are on spotify and individual songs are on soundcloud, but i don't know if it has everything. google hasn't been very helpful and you seemed like the best person to ask. thanks!
hello! google probably hasn't been helpful because really the only way to listen to all naddpod songs is inside of naddpod episodes. there's kind of three places where you can find songs, but not every song has been released outside of being played in episodes, in fact most of them haven't. here's a list!
The Galaderon Saga and Tales from the Crick albums are on spotify. They're also on youtube, i'm not sure abt like apple music but i'd imagine that too. They both have pretty much all of the songs from those arcs.
One Big Bed (from the end of ep100) is also there
The Reaping Season: Songs from Eldermourne is also in those places. It has I'd say a solid half to 2/3 of the songs from Eldermourne.
Then we get to stuff that's on the Patreon. (These links will only work if you have that)
There's a handful of songs that have been posted directly into the Patreon feed. Some have releases in the above albums, but a few of them don't. You can filter by music on the Patreon to see those
In the Blackthorn Hall post, specifically, there's a link to a Soundcloud playlist that has some more songs, both from later Bahumia (that got used in Eldermourne) and Eldermourne ones not on The Reaping Season
And that's it! Emily has some other music from her personal projects elsewhere (bandcamp, and spotify both under her own name and Sierra Needle), but the majority of Bahumia songs and all of Campaign 3 songs so far don't have official releases. I know she's said she wants to on occasion but it's unclear if/when she'll do that
