I can't stop thinking about how he never got to see the Deep Dark. It was probably for the best, since at his age the shriekers and wardens probably would've killed him dead right there from the fright but damn. He'd've probably had fun with the shriekers after the fact, and he'd've definitely had some Choice Words for the warden.
If I can ever write about him again without crying, he's probably lurking down there to fuck with the Hermits when they show up. The ancient cities are his now.
Yeah the pulsating Darkness effect and overall sound design of the Deep Dark would be absolutely miserable to experience with his motion sickness and migraines... They're his though now, you're so right. All the biomes, all those 100+ blocks of stone and ores and caves, as soon as you step below the dirtblock crust of the world that's his domain.
And the fact he never really got to explore the Deep Dark, or any of the 1.18 cave generation beyond the ore distribution... Maybe someone hasn't played Minecraft in a few years. Maybe they pick up the game again, start a new world, do their early game caving and stumble into a massive lush cave. Maybe they mine into it through a geode, just as Lena Raine's "Infinite Amethyst" begins to play. Maybe that sense of wonder as the scene opens up before them is TFC, a little bit, watching over all who take pick to stone and still discovering the beauty of the game he loved for so many years.
I don't know if any of this makes sense, we both have a lot of emotions rn & it seems I've gotten over the shock somewhat and words are just pouring out now... I think it helps me to think of him as part of Minecraft now, this kindly jokey presence snarking away to himself in the walls of your stripmine. He's part of our worlds forever now.
If you ever do manage to write about him again I will be so happy to read & cry & miss him with every word. He was strong, we can be strong too, but it's completely ok and normal and important to mourn.
💚⛏️💔

Time for Your Tune Up! (pt. 3)
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3(here!), Part 4
A/N: When you have to start over cause the app was killjoy (:
Characters: Jamil Viper x Yumei Archambeau (can be read as platonic or romantic)
Warnings: OOC-ness, boys flustering at implications galore again.
Tumblr media
"You want me... to help you? Do you hear yourself?"
"I'm not messing with you, Jamil. I want you to help me."
The Scarabia Vice-warden was still skeptical. Why would the Prefect he tried to use as a puppet in the past ask him of all people for help?
It sounds ridiculous... and yet...
"...Fine."
“Fine?”
“I'll help you with your Life Extending Agent.”
Yumei sighed in relief. “Thank you, Jamil.”
The vice warden waved off his response. “So, where is this Port of yours located?”
The Prefect made this his cue to remove his jacket and vest. He was quite casual about undoing his top, it threw Jamil off a bit, making him hide his face in his hood. Warn a guy will you!
The last button of his white school shirt had been undone, and Yumei turned his back to the (still hiding) Scarabia student. “Between my shoulder blades.”
“Huh?” Jamil moved his face away, and saw what the other boy was referring to. Right there, smack dab in the middle, was said Installer Port. It's so small, one could almost mistake it for a blemish.
“...”
With a hand to the Reyvateil's back, Jamil gently pushed him towards his desk chair, moving it to where Yumei could lean on the back of the chair and his own back facing Jamil. “Pass me a supplement.” The dual eyed boy compiled and gave him one from the satchel.
Eyeing the geode in his hands, Jamil leaned closer and began to gently press it in.
Yumei hastily covered his mouth. “-!”
“You ok?”
“Y-yeah. Just don’t wanna freak you out, is all.” He laughed pathetically.
All the vice warden did was shake his head in turn. He continues, making sure his pace is steady as the geode vanishes bit by bit. He doesn't miss the occasional flinch and muffled moan coming from the boy beneath him. Any attempt to brush off those sounds impossible, and his face blushing in denial as well.
After a few seconds, the Life Extending Agent was fully seated in the Reyvateil’s body. “There. All finished.”
Yumei slouches in his seat, breathing a sigh of relief. “Thank Sevens.”
~Later that evening, Scarabia Dorm Kitchen~
Jamil chuckled seeing the dual eyed boy eating away at his cooking. “You sure are hungry.”
“Y can hal i! I taz a wo ou’a e!(I can't help it! It takes a lot of out me!)”
“Swallow your food before talking…” the other boy shook his head.
With an audible gulp, Yumei finished his meal, fully content. “Say, Jamil? If you want, do you-”
“Sure.” Surprised, the Reyvateil looked to charcoal eyes who read his thoughts. “I can help you next time, my Diamond in the Rough,” he ends with a smirk.

@lulu-the-warden - replied to this as well.
Shuffling movement stirring just outside of the cave entrance momentarily drew Wretched’s attention away from his meal. He’d a feeling that was Geode, and a couple of whiffs confirmed it. Normally, even timidly approaching a hungry Warden while he was tucking into a tasty treat was an awful idea, however it was obvious by now that Wretched did not consider Geode any sort of threat. In fact, Wretched tended to his elderly companion like a bull would his doe- minus the tenderness.
Following the pause was a beastly chuff expelled with force, then he began to further shred the tree. As much as he desired to devour this entire hive all by himself, Geode could use it more.
“Well, come on, then, you old heifer. There’s plenty’a honeycomb left in there.” He’d even peeled more of the tree away so that the other could gain easier access. No act of kindness could go without that sprinkle of spice though, of course. After moving out of the way a bit, Wretched busied himself by trying to cleanse the scattered bits of wax, bark, and honey slathered across his fur. He’d go crazy if he didn’t get this off of him soon.

Day 23: Booger
Geode's feverish thoughts wandered back to the enderman he had hobbled after two days before. The enderman was sniffling an awful lot...maybe that was where he had picked up such an illness.
The virus Geode had become infected with was usually a very mild case of the sniffles for most wardens and endermen. It could be quite devastating for the very young and very old, though...
He curled up in his sculk nest and shivered away, too sick to find food or garden or anything.

Geode was out and about on a balmy late spring day, sniffing around for apples, carrots, sugarcane...whatever he could get his big, furry paws on.
That was when an unexpected scent crossed his sensitive nose. What was this? Illager...and villager. Hmm, but no sounds of fighting. Also, he hadn't been hit by a crossbow yet. There was a trace of potion, too. He could smell just the tiniest amount of netherwart.
Geode followed the scent, feeling around the trees.
A soft noise pricked his antennas. It was the sound of a baby babbling. It was right in front of the old warden.
Geode knelt down and ever so carefully felt...he felt two tiny heads.
"Babies?" He said gently, "Whoa...what are you two doing out here??"
Tumblr media
The two start to giggle as the huge hand pets over one of them... They were not frightened of the elder warden. They babbled, as if they were trying to say something.

ngl when chunkbase said there was a skele spawner and a geode close by, I didn't think it meant this close by wtf. XD
This is going to require ... a lot of thinking about how to wrangle the two farms lol. In the meantime, I have built the world's longest and jankiest staircase to get back up again. I will probably put in bubblevators later on maybe. ig I got lucky that it's surrounded by deep dark tho so I don't have to worry about mob spawns. And I've broken all the shriekers I can find bc who wants a warden down here? not me lol. There was also a smol iron vein nearby that I got a stack of iron from, so. :D
I do want to get this one up and running, as well as a zombie spawner for leather/rotten flesh. Once they're built, I'll probably test them out in easy to make sure they're working, and once I'm happy with that, I'll move to easy permanently.
also apparently my closest cherry grove biome is also near where my stronghold is so. that's ... fun. o.o i haven't even been to the nether yet, let alone thought about the end. XD
Tumblr media
And we're going to get cherry trees next bc this is in the middle of the mountain my starter base is looking at, and a) it's covered in so much snowier snow oml and b) I'm gonna build a lil shrine there and plant cherry trees everywhere. So all the spruce has to go and I'll prob make a lil snow farm to go and replace all the snowier snow with proper snow so I don't have to deal with it. I have leather boots, but tbh that's not the point. XD I should flood it with water, that'll sort the snowier snow out. :D
Also there are two lil cave areas that connect through from the outside of the mountain near my storage house through to the grove here. So I've been tidying them up a lil in preparation for proper stairs and pathways.
I didn't take a screenshot of it, but there's now a dirt bridge connecting my starter cave area to this mountain and that leads into a tunnel that opens up to this grove. I got so many tunnels going lol. XD
I did have to take my first death tho bc as I was digging the janky staircase down to the skele spawner, I got lost in a small cave area and couldn't find where the staircase had opened into the cave. IT WAS SUCH A SMALL AREA HOW DID I GET LOST idk but I got an axolotl out of it so who's winning? :D But this is why I play with keep inventory on so I can die and go back to spawn and follow the staircase back down to where I left off lol.
Tomorrow, we go cherry tree hunting. I also want to mock out the roof for my storage house in creative bc the vision I have is. Complicated lol. And I want to get it right before I start building it in survival. And I want to start making the lil river that's going to flow between the two mountains. Do some terraforming to get the shape right and fill in any open cave areas that I don't want to just flood with water lol.

"Damn it..." Geode grumbled, hobbling around what was left of his garden.
Someone had gotten in while he was sleeping. He smelled the lingering scent of a miner. Must have been a really crafty one to remember to tiptoe around. They hadn't even set off the shriekers.
"Grrr...now what am I going to eat this winter?" The old warden wheezed.

Hope I'm not asking too many, but 🦙, 🌻, 🕰️?
Thanks for the ask :D
🦙 (llama) give us a list of your favourite Minecraft mobs! Why are these ones specifically Your Little Guys? Ironically, love the Llamas but thats probably because I love llamas irl as well. Love how we can put little carpets on them and dress them up and make them into the most fancy of lads! Wish we could dress other mobs like that. Axolotls, again same reason I love them irl as well and I have a small collection of build-a-bear lotties! Warden, big, strong, husband material. He's soooooo mysterious and can kill me by screaming Very Loud which 10/10 would die again. I will forever mourn the loss of the glare. I miss him every day. OH and I actually like the Wandering Trader. He's my buddy, he's my pal, I made him my husband in one world, worst trades on the Overworld.
🌻(sunflower) what are your favourite biomes? Furthermore which biome feels most like home to you (might not even be your fave!). If you could add new biomes to the game what would they be?
OOOOOh. Okay so-
Flower Forests - Theres flowers, there's forest, there's cute bunnies, and it's super super pretty
Meadow - once again, flowers everywhere but meadows just have this detatched feeling seperate from all other biomes thats just so isolating and makes you really think about how vast everything is
Warped Forest - blue/turquoise mushroom trees go brrrrrr
Lush Caves - there's literally magic in these caves I swear to god
Giant Tree Taiga - a new entry but I've really been appreciating spruce lately
Biomes that most feel like home to me are dark oak forests (first ever minecraft world, my little cobblestone shack was in a tiny pond in the middle of the forest) and swamps (mine and my brother's bases are set in a swamp and the amount of time I've spent there is A Lot).
Biomes I would add-
Ice Caves- just c'mon Ice Caves would fuck hard. We have dripstone all you'd need to do is make it look like ice and slap some ice in a cave and be like boom ice cave
Lush Forest - azalea forests that spawn with moss and clay like a surface lush cave almost
Rose/Peony/Lilac Plains - sunflower plains exist why not these?
Mega Deep Ocean - give us fucked up sea life!!! I want the horrors!!!
Crystal Caves - give us some different geodes!!! give me shiny rocks I wish to Eat Them.
🕰 (clock) what version of Minecraft do you remember playing first? What has been your favourite update? If you could make an update what would it be?
I first played uhhhh 1.13 I think it was? Update Aquatic since bedrock was my first chance to own the game on my own console/device since I had to share the old pc we had with my brother. But I remember me and my brother having game night when I'd sit at the desk waaaay back with Alpha when he used to play.
My favourite update is defo Nether Update. A common answer and pretty basic but I am gentle hold the Piglins and the amount of blocks added was astounding! 1.18 is a close second but I miss the old generation a lot more than I enjoy the new sometimes. I fuckin love the caves though!
As for an update hmmm... I'd either love to do an End Update or a Second Update That Changes the World which would update old biomes and add some new interesting ones... like more cave biomes... please Mojang... more cave biomes. I like the three we have but please........... m o r e. Imagine: ice caves, fungal caves, crystal caves, volcanic caves, better mineshafts, proper ocean caves...... imagine the possibilities!!!

Notch’s Minecraft is not Minecraft as we know it
Oasis Nadrama, 28/07/2022 The most well-sold game of the planet was created by a fascist and he sold it to a horrible company. Yeah, that’s about it. But it goes beyond that. Yes, Notch is a nazi. There’s no way to go around it. And he originally created Minecraft, no one is going to deny that. However, Notch as a “creator” is mostly a fraud to begin with. Notch directly took most of his ideas for the Minecraft gameplay from other games at the time (mostly Infiniminer), that was more plagiarism than inspiration. In addition to that, Notch left the development relatively early considering the magnitude of the updates which came after him.
Tumblr media
Notch sold Minecraft to Microsoft and left Mojang in November 2014 (and had already stopped involving himself much in Minecraft even earlier). Back then, we were at Update 1.8. Minecraft as we know it now (even before update 1.17) doesn't have much in common with Minecraft the way Notch envisioned and programmed it until 2014.
’ ‘ ‘ List of elements which were changed/added since Notch's departure : 1 - Entirely remade world generation, including incredibly increased altitude, new shapes, an all-new cave system, deepslate, geodes and a lot of new biomes. 2 - Everything in the outer/extended End: chorus trees, end cities, re-summoning of Jean the dragon, the entire End gateways system, Shulkers and Shulker boxes. 3 - Extremely extended Nether: new biomes, new fauna, new flora, new ores... The pre-2020 Nether was basically just netherrack, lava, zombie pigmen, quartz and Nether fortresses with Blazes. That was all. It had no biomes, no animals, no hyphae, no netherite, nothing. 4 - The entirety of Deep Cities, as well as the rich Deep Cities system(s), including the sculk detectors and life cycles, the Warden boss, the vibration system. 5 - Entirely remade combat mechanisms, as well as Tridents, Crossbows, Totems of undying and special arrows. 6 - Vastly revamped ore system, including nuggets, the new raw ore items, the ore veins; added copper (and the entire copper oxydation system), amethyst (and the entire amethyst system), crying obsidian, specific texture for each raw ore block (previously all general ores had the same raw ore texture in different colors), Ancient Debris clusters; ore now generates at various altitudes, making it important to have both mountain mines and deep underground mines. 7 - Vastly revamped crafting system, including the recipes, new furnaces such as blasting furnaces, composters, new working blocks such as grindstones and cartography tables, brick-craftin, chiseling and polishing of a lot of blocks, netherite and the entire netherite system. 8 - Extended storage system, including shulker boxes and barrels. 9 - Vastly revamped interface, including revamped Creative mode, the addition of datapacks and a lot of accessibility features for disabled individuals such as the Narrator or the different textures for each block (helping with color vision deficiency). 10 - Extended coloring system. Extended dye system and dye palette allowing to color the beds and a variety of items; glowing dye; new variants of wood items as well (birch signs etc); new flowers as well. 11 - The entire soul fire system (soul lanterns etc). 12 - Added weather consequences, including a snow "cycle", the possibility to freeze, lightning rods, thunderstorms etc. 13 - Vastly enriched basic stone varieties, including the Dripstone system, a lot of new material as well as... our dear Granite, Diorite and Andesite trio. These three mineral types, now seen as default ground composition, weren't in Minecraft before 2019: in early Minecraft days, the ground was Dirt and Stone and that was about it. 14 - The same goes for the nether stone varieties; once again, before 2020, the Nether was simply constituted of netherrack. 15 - Incredible new ways of interacting with the environment/exploring: Elytras, shovel-created paths in grass, exploration maps (and the generally extended cartography system), Frost Walker and Soul Speed enchantment effects, magma blocks and their damaging and aspiring underwater effects, Heart of the Sea (and the entire Conduit system), swimming animations, Scaffolding which vastly changes the approach to Survival building, the entire moss/moss blocks system, bells which allow to both alert the villagers and detect the pillagers, campfires, lecterns, Strider-riding in Nether lava oceans, Target blocks, Respawn Anchors, new types of compasses (lodestone and recovery compasses). 16 - Extremely enriched Redstone system. 17 - Revamped and enriched water mechanics, including the new mud system. 18 - New structures: a ton of new biomes, new villages, manors, shipwrecks, underwater ruins, icebergs, coral reefs, pillager outposts, piglin bastion remnants, basalt pillars, fossils, ruined portals. 19 - New light sources tied to the various new ore and ecological systems: lanterns, soul lanterns, glow berries, glow lichen, shroomlights, candles etc. 20 - New items with special light interactions were also added, most significantly tinted glass. 21 - Various new decoration including chains, the new vegetation and all of the things the new systems brought. 22 - Frost Walker, Sweeping Edge, Soul Speed, Cursed enchantments. 23 - A lot of important enemies: Phantoms (and the entire Phantom system punishing in-game insomnia), Vindicators, Evokers, Vexes, Strays, Husks, Drowned (and the Drowned system), Pillagers, Ravagers, skeleton horsemen (along with their thunderstorm system). 24 - Vastly revamped villagers, including various clothes for the biomes and jobs, added Wandering traders and their special llamas. 25 - Piglins and the entire Piglin system: Piglin zombification, Piglin trade, Piglin neutrality/hostility, Piglin Brutes, Piglin ecosystems interaction. 26 - Extremely extended fauna: Bees (and the entire bees, honey, apiculture system), lamas, parrots, fishes, dolphins, foxes, pandas, ocelots, striders, hoglins, frogs, glow squids, goats, axolotls, allays... 27 - Extremely extended flora, generally with gameplay impact, including the hurtful/useful sweet berries bush, the bamboo, mangrove, nether forest and end forest, new tree types, glowing types of vegetation, a variety of vines, the lush caves, hanging roots, spore blossoms, dripfleaf plants etc (as well as, once again, the moss and sculk systems). 28 - All of the underwater flora: Kelp, coral, seagrass, everything. 29 - A lot of new interesting blocks: as indicated, magma blocks are a post-Notch system, but there's also concrete, glazed terracotta. 30 - A lot of new music, including the fan favorite "Pigstep" made by award-winning queer composer Lena Raine. ‘ A lot of people feel like the updates are all over the place, a serious and legit argument can be made about it. Old-time players often complain the vanilla game now often feels like a modded version, and it is certainly a relevant comment. However, regardless of the criticism you can bring to the table regarding recent updates, Notch-era Minecraft was incredibly gray and empty when compared to what the game is now, and we would do well to remember these early days. Original Minecraft had one basic tree type, one type of bed, maybe three animals, the ground was only basic stone and dirt (andesite, granite etc didn't exist back then) and the Nether was just raw netherrack with rare fortresses and the occasional quartz. Minecraft as we know it now is simply not the same game Notch developed and sold to Microsoft nearly one decade ago.

For Sarana, Lian leaves a split stone — a geode, recently harvested by his own hand from the Oreburrow Tunnel. The crystal clusters found inside are coral-orange in color.
Leave an object in my ask and my muse will react to it being given to them || Accepting
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For millennia has it been known that the land of Hisui houses conditions within the earth perfect for the formation of crystals. From the pulsating, glowing origin ore in the Coronet Highlands, to the colourful array of jade shaped into tears and rested upon the breast of not the clans but instead those truly of the name they fought over, to the most unassuming quartz buried just beneath the surface. Formations valued for their beauty, but arise from just the right and unique imperfections. For this reason, when the geode is presented to her, Sarana takes a moment to let her eyes flicker over it—to climb up to the peaks of tetragonal pillars; to watch how the sunlight filtering through the canopy of nearby trees reflects through its structure. It is a wonderful sight, truly—reminiscent of fiery sunsets she recalls seeing when winter begins to take hold, albeit for how the warmth radiating from that manifests not a as a tangible thing, but instead a concept; a memory.
          “Why thank you, Warden,”
Are the words that escape from the medium’s lips as hands move to take the gift from his grasp. It is heavier than expected, but not overwhelmingly so, with the remnants of dirt clinging onto rock letting go as the exchange is made. However long did it take the young warden to find, she wonders? Had the Lord he cares for aided in the endeavour, or was it a discovery made solely on his own? They are questions which linger in the back of Sarana’s mind, yet ones she knows to be inappropriate to ask when the geode in question has been so generously handed over to herself.
Instead, red lips form that of a gentle smile, unspoken gratitude lingering in the shape.
“I cannot say that I have encountered anything like this on my journey. It’s quite beautiful. You’ve certainly an eye for creations such as this.”

Variation in caves is the name of the game. There will still be the classic look but there's something for everyone with the Caves & Cliffs Update.
There are many new mobs that are coming to the area. The terrifying Warden is coming to deepest caves, the darkest.
Along with that monstrous mob come more friendly ones! Axolotls will be added to the water, and goats are expected to join the Overworld on the new mountain ranges!
Don't miss out! Minecraft on the go? Check out this HP Pavilion Power 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop in Full HD on sale now on Amazon!
Caves & Cliffs Update will introduce a brand new method of mining. Players will carefully dig up rare and fragile artifacts cleaning dirt instead of pounding them with pickaxes.
New ore
Search for the new copper ore, or the stunning Amethyst crystal geodes that can be mined for new crafting materials. With the Caves & Cliffs Update, there are going to be a ton of new blocks and crafting recipes such as sculk sensors for detecting the movement of objects as well as telescopes, lightning rods, leaf platforms, and a whole lot more.
Lush Caves
A new biome! Lush Caves promise to be alive with life. They will bring some color and excitement to the caves as well as the danger of tunnelling.
Azalea is a new tree that indicates the whereabouts of the Lush Cave while it is still in the air.
Spore blossoms, an innovative block that hangs from the roof, emits particles similar to those in New Nether.
Here you will also find adorable axolotls in the swimming pools.
Redstone additions
The new sculk block will sense the movement of the block and send out a Redstone signal. Similar to motion sensors.
This new feature will be amazing in the hands of experienced Redstone engineers since it behaves like wireless Redstone!
This new gang lurks in the deepest caves. It is adapted to darkness, it is able to sense motion and has fine-tuned hearing, so be careful!
Read more about Minecraft - How to make and use an Anchor for Respawn. Anchor
Crystals
From a block that is not available, these crystals are not only very pretty but they're also very useful as well! As a key ingredient in a new recipe You'll need to locate the crystals and then build your recipe around them.
You can build a telescope from the crystal shards! !
Copper is needed to construct it. That's right a new ore is now arriving in Minecraft. Copper blocks will turn green with age just like real life. This makes your world feel time.
Bundles
Limited inventory has always been a problem for Minecraft, and as more blocks are added, players are struggling with carrying their belongings.
Read More How to Make an Minecraft saddle
The Bundle will fix this. Bundles can hold multiple types of objects, as well as large stacks of things. This means that you could carry one bundle and have 64 cobblestones, 64 iron ingots, as well as some flowers in one inventory slot.
