WHICH time lord are you.#bc lbr if she knows abt tardises then she knows about time lords and if she knows abt time lords she knows what it means for ruby #to be joining him - and that's why she wishes ruby good luck. meanwhile this is clearly the outcome she WANTS (them to be together)#bc she gets visibly upset when the doctor seems to decide to leave without ruby.#and for once i'm not master clowning bc the list of names the doctor gives out is VERY interesting. some of them we've never heard before:#the bishop; the conquistador; later he adds the pedant and sagi-shi and reiterates the bishop AGAIN. so i wonder if she's the bishop.....

YES I am commited to the bit of having the main character go through a long running pronoun-quest.#This character does not have a name so I cannot formally tag them...#(Okay. Technically they have an internal name for coding/scripting reasons...and I have a nickname for them.#But the important part of making a video game character you get to eventually name is that the name must come from *you*!)#The girl here is a npc so she has a temporary name. So I also cannot tag her. Hmm...#I have several FFS comics thumbnailed out. This one got made first because it's the funniest without context. Lore wise it's weak.#I would love to post the sexy clown but you have to wait just a few more comics.#Fun artist woes moment to share: This is the first time I've had to colour these characters traditionally. *That* was NOT fun.#Going from a specific digital colour palette to being at the whims of my limited colour choices in markers? Hell! On! Earth!#I might also be extra frustrated because this sure is 3x the length of what I usually do for comics! I spent a Whole Day on this.#Past me thought it was soooo funny and needed all the extra panels for pacing. I hate past me. That guy needs to be exploded.

Maybe the problem with Christian fiction is that it's non-denominational. People are just "Christian", with no effort put into showing what practicing that religion looks like for them specifically. No indication that there are other Christians who could have different beliefs. No wrestling with differing ideas and the struggle of how one should live out their Christian faith. And that makes it unrealistic and unrelatable.

#me reading any christian historical fiction set in england: why are none of these gentry anglican??#they ARE all anglican and if they are not it is extremely plot and character relevant you can't just have them using evangelical buzzwords #but i'm also thinking of this because i started another charlotte yonge book #that is by far my favorite of the things of hers that i've read #because it has characters who have different upbringings and religious opinions #instead of just 'here's a bunch of high church anglicans judging people who don't live up to their victorian standard'#you have the very high church anglican rector whose wife is worldly but still a very good person #the girl raised in a very strict protestant family who is more scrupulous than the anglicans but is still recognized as a good person #you have people who are trying to work out the nuances of different issues #and that makes it so much more realistic and so much easier to integrate into the story #(the politics though are hilarious)#(most of the classics that survive are the ones that were 'ahead of their time' in politics)#(so it's equally fascinating and refreshing and a bit infuriating to see one that is very very of its time with regards to women's rights)#('why did this woman get up at the meeting and explain her very good ideas for rebuilding after the fire? she should have had a man do it')#(meanwhile i'm just screaming 'why on earth SHOULDN'T she???')#(it's almost enough to make a feminist of me)

just learned that David Jenkins’ first show, People of Earth, aired for two seasons and was greenlit for a third, and he scripted the entire third season before the network changed its mind and cancelled it. That is fucking maddening actually.

Eclipse feels like he's never been in control, because he wasn't. He was abandoned by old Moon. In both their heads, he was the problem.

Every single day he had to watch through Sun's eyes, as another him got to live the life he wanted. And even that wasn't enough for old Moon, considering the star exists.

And once it all got too much, he decided to take control, and even then he felt rejected.

He made himself his own brother, but never actually got close to him, because he was afraid of being abandoned again. And he was, but this time, the problem was himself.

The only time he really had control was, when he got that damn star, and even then, he couldn't do anything.

He didn't know what he wanted anymore, this grand dream suddenly didn't feel worth it anymore…

And even now he's not in control! He thought, he could at least rest in death, but not even that is given to him!

My damn heart can't take this…

From body to body, losing person after person, and now being brought back every time he dies??? It's so insanely sad to me that, even during his most "in control" moments, he isn't really. Like you said, with the star he ended up not knowing what he wanted to do anymore and it started to gnaw at him from the inside out!! During the october takeover, even though he had Lunar under his thumb, the bodies they had weren't theirs!! It's so fucked up!!!!

I wish Eclipse wasn't so terribly emotionally constipated bc holy shit I would have adored to have that touched on more. Even through all his walls and masks and edge, he told Earth that waking up outside his own body was "horrifying" and that just gutted me. And what gutted me even more is that when Earth sympathized with him he just totally backpedaled!!!

He was almost, like, embarrassed at having said anything even remotely honest! Like he opened up the tiniest bit and it wasn't handled in a way he liked so he immediately shut it back down.

He drives me up the WALLS I love him so much. He's like the trauma and issues georg of the show 2 me </3
