I pulled my knees up to my chest, wrapping my arms around them. My communicator was left in the grass. I put my head down, hoping-- praying to the universe and to the void itself that I wasn't making the wrong choices, responding to these strangers.

I had half a mind to block [🦇]. Whoever they were, I wanted nothing to do with them. [aliferous-ly] on the other hand? I hoped that they would tell me the truth.

The thought of other people being able to watch me wasn't a very nice one.

Anyway, I still had no iron. It was time to go mining.

I gathered up enough food and tools and torches, and started a spiral staircase down. I didn't find much, just coal and a few odd iron. But I did hit a cave.

I followed it down as deep as it went, torches placed to the left to help me find my way home. There was mostly copper and coal in the walls.

I did find some redstone but that would be useless until I could get an iron pick.

There was a really strange blue deposit that I hadn't ever seen before.

The stuff was called asurine. It was pretty, and almost like a blue amethyst.

And I found a strange ore in the walls. It was similar in color to iron, but with more of a green tint to it. I tried mining it, but it was delicate, like redstone. I'll need iron to mine it if I wanted anything useful out of the rock.

So, instead I grabbed a good chunk of the asurine to take home instead. I might be able to do something with it.

To my surprise, there was calcite behind the asurine! And deepslate behind that!

Deepslate? Up this high? And calcite not around a geode?

This really wasn't a normal world.

I was almost out of pickaxe durability by the time I'd exhausted the calcite in this vein, and I was tired.

It was dark by the time I made it back up out of the cave.

Any more messages I might've gotten could wait until the morning. I was too tired to deal with any more of them tonight.

Hello! Welcome to the Tumblr Science RPG Blog! This isn't an official product or run by a team of dedicated people but by one kinda-guy who daydreams about making art while studying undergrad science.

* for those wondering how speed works for now. Which ever speed stat is higher goes first. Wit acounts for both Special Attacking moves and support moves that do no damage. More working out later.

I've had the idea for an RPG based on a fantastical science setting for a while, but I only just thought to turn it into a Tumblr gimmick blog. I have a few mechanics in mind, but most of what I write here is off the cuff (so if anything seems wildly un-balanced or vague, it's because I'm not checking in-depth).

Please note that I'm just an undergrad with very limited exposure to the wider academic sphere, so if there's an easy joke or reference I miss, please keep that in mind. Or add to it in the post! I also find it a bit harder to be more caring about subjects outside my fields of interest (Geology , Biology , Earth Systems , Ecology , Palaeontology), so any added context is appreciated. What would be even better is any passionate info dumping to get me fired up, so don't worry about if it's bothering me or if I'm not interested or not. Any sign of love for this universe we share is welcome. I just may have a slower time getting around to writing about it (* ^ー゜)ノ.

As a student, I'm not super confident I'll be able to keep this blog regularly updated, so if you folks want to run wild with the idea, feel free. I just want people to have fun with science and spread enthusiasm!

sorry for being so inactive here! i've been kinda busy irl lately and I realized that I rather spend my time working on personal projects...

I've thought about deleting this blog for a while. I think its an okay premise, but it just isn't something that I can keep up with/fully explore.

so I've been thinking about turning this into a group blog. i think this being a group blog would be more entertaining... also, It would be nice if the splatband fandom was a little more connected with eachother. I know there aren't that many of us on tumblr, but I think it would be cool for this to be a collaborative effort (^_^')

but for that to happen... people have to be interested in joining...

so if anyone wants to be a mod/member dm me! or reblog saying so! or any other way of contacting me!
