btw while I’m still being annoying, my favorite example to bring up in the “hygiene products that you can just pick up off the shelf at the store can have KNOWN carcinogens in them” conversation is coal tar. This one’s still crazy to me. It’s used in anti-dandruff products for its “anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties" but it’s also LIKE. a hazardous substance... but it can still go in your shampoo bc “aww but it’s only SOME poison, it’s not like, a LOT of poison, so we can still sell it and it’s ok”

good rep? that just means palatable to the cis people watching. i just watched an anime about a shut in getting turned into a girl by their sister, and i have never felt more seen in my entire life as a trans girl. premise? whack (not really but i'm making a point here). handling of gender and pronouns? imperfect. capturing the sense of dread and loneliness that comes from a bout of dysphoria unexpectedly rearing its head while out with friends? literally the only time i have seen that depicted in a show before.

it's funny bcuz watching tv with subtitles/captions theyre just..... wrong. like straight up misspell words or characters names, inaccurate timings and its clear they're following an imported written script and not what the characters are actually saying because the subtitles are inaccurate in a way where you can tell that's what was ORIGINALLY written before the actor changed it during the scene. drives me crazy but also im used to it now. somehow pirating sites actually have more accurate and readable subtitles than actual streaming services

im always like i could fix you. literally if you put in ANY amount of effort these captions would not be such a fucking mess. i could do better than this!!!! ANYBODY COULD!!!!!!

Keyleth mentioned that tensions are on the rise within the Dwendalian empire what with the king on his way out and the Cerberus Assembly running around unchecked especially with Ludinus as its head and while I would love for the Cerberus Assembly to be completely abolished or prevented from ever rising back to the height of its current political power after this whole Predathos incident I also hope the empire doesn’t tear itself apart from the inside.

The empire has just barely gotten out of war with the Kryn Dynasty and now it may just fall into civil war and I could give less than a shit about king Dwendal and all the bureaucracy and shit but the people still need to heal from the War of Ash and Light because that ended only seven years ago (836 PD) give or take and that’s hardly anytime at all to rebuild their lives because the ruling body of their nation have neglected their safety for arcane power and knowledge
