Man, I love the trope of aliens being terrified of humans, and I've seen some fics of human!reader reacting differently to stuff like posions/plants in hyrule, but this is in another level! We are indestructible! I mean, I could live on Death Mountain! With the Gorons! It's literally a dream come true!
Also, the urge this would give me to give them all the hugs and piggy back rides whenever it gets cold/windy/whatever extreme condition.
If Hylians would be surprisingly light, would they be light enough for me to pick up Time? Just get that big ass man with a bunch of armor on my back? Because new need unlocked.
NEW NEED UNLOCKED INDEEEEDDD. (touches my fingertips together like a villain up to no good)
CREDIT FOUND!! (Who did it first!):
IDK who it was but someone mentioned in a rlly old 2023-2022? LU x human reader post abt the hylians being lighter in comparison to humans!! If i find who it is, or if u recognize u wrote abt smth similar pls leave a comment so I can @ you!! /gen
@wayfayrr :D ive been in humans are space orcs fandom (is it a fandom? A kinda 2nd part/expansion to this post!
no bc the “i can live wherever tf i want” was secretly part of why i wrote that post (so sue me, i wanna be able to follow wild around his hyrule w/o getting nuked)
OMFG SO GLAD SOMEONE WANTS TO TALK ABT HOW AFFECTIONATE YOU’D GET BC OF THIS TOWARDS THE LINKS (anduseitasanexcusehahai mean what? whatd i say??)
There’s only 2 types of Links in this hyrule(s):
Who’s already down with being cuddled at the slightest/not so slightest inconvenience??:
Wild
(unsurprisingly, also if anyone teases him he just teases right back that not only is it “for survival”, but also look he’s “getting Guide Cuddles™️ and You’re Not” lmao,
would sleep right up against ur bedroll every night if u let him, likes when you commit to the cuddle (even if he goes a little red), like wrapping arms + legs around him, adores fireside cuddles, has said on multiple occasions that nothing makes him feel safer than holding onto you, and how he can’t go back to doing things like this on his own anymore 😭😭😭
his favorite cuddle is whatever you give him LMAO u can always count on Wild if your ever feeling like u need to cuddle smth blonde and cute lol - he constantly offers or initiates it himself <33 )
Sky
another unsurprising one, his favorite time to cuddle is when it’s cold outside, or windy, and he can just get under a blanket and take a nap with you,
esp if it’s both and he can convince you to lay partially on him for heated + weighted human blanket purposes, he’s literally staring at you with sparkles in his eyes as soon as a breeze goes by lol
his Loftwing/Crimson wasn’t rlly able to fly u long distances u find out!! :( Hylians are just so light that ofc that explains why they can ride these pelican/ostrich creations for hours, whereas the bird can only rlly manage 20 minutes of low flying with you (+ Sky) on its back, but that’s fine, bc u figured out how to “shield surf” rlly fast down slopes to keep up with Sky flying low, and by “shield surfing” i mean, shocking Wild into jaw-dropped silence as he watches you fly by completely barefoot 👍
(after all, ur skin has to be pretty tough/thick to be able to handle the weather/environmental conditions, and finding out u can withstand lava? yeah this is nothing turns out)
secretly loves piggyback rides, but never asks, u just see him get this look in his eyes, and shuffling in place just behind you lol
Wind
touch starved, but what Link isnt lol
his favorite is piggyback rides, since he was raised by his grandma, and there weren’t a whole lot of close, young adults to pick him up as a kid
so now, he takes FULL advantage of u being able to easily pick him up lol
one time u guys were going uphill while a pleasant breeze was blowing-
actually it was gale force winds.
but ur you, so it took Wind flying backwards into you to realize. he also screeched at you for “ABANDONING ME- YOURE GONNA MAKE ME, A LITTLE GUY LIKE ME, CRAWL UP THIS?? HOW COULD YOU-” you give him piggy back rides whenever it’s windy.
will treat u like his own personal ship whenever ur both in the water, which consists of him yelling sailor terms like “turn starboard! raise the sails!” while sitting on ur shoulders while u get slammed (gently buffeted, really) by waves
Hyrule
shy, shy, shy, shy-
the quintessential:
“👉👈 🥺 is it okay, if we maybe hug rn?? I'm just rlly cold, and i know u said you didnt mind, and I saw Wild and Sky just laying on you, sorry if this is weird-”
Hyrule, sweets, you literally love him more than life itself, of course you’ll cuddle the fairy boy
the more excited he gets = the more likely to jump on ur back/wrap his arms around ur waist happily, esp since he’s an extra cutie patootie and will subconsciously seek u out if the environment gets a little rough
Sets an Amazing example for the other Links, not too clingy when ur busy, great at latching onto ur back when things get tough for him, asks politely and thanks you everytime he gets down <3
Hyrule is eternally fascinated by whatever u do, u just walk thru flood waters like it’s nothing and while the rest are used to it by now, he’s the only Link looking at you like your some kind of god 💗💘💖💕🙈
accidentally squeezed ur arm muscles one time when he saw u doing that thing where u curl ur arm and Wind/Wild were able to hang off of it,
you both just stared at each other for a solid minute before his ears turned down and he went completely red and apologized profusely for 5 minutes, before you just scooped him up too lmao (his face after tho)
Four
depending on the cuddle he gets shy sometimes, even worse if more than 1 Link is looking at you two, in which he will attempt to escape ur arms.
keyword being attempt.
you just wrap ur legs around him and trap him instead lol
likes to cuddle you somehow where he’s not in the way but you can keep doing whatever it is you were busy with
if he splits, then u can fucking bet Red is the first to dive into ur chest- unless there is literally, actively, a threat right in front of him, he’s going for it lol, Green loves to wrap his arms around one of yours and just hang off u all day, Blue will wait until ur sitting somewhere and flop on ur legs to purposely trap u there, the little shit, and Vio just likes hugs. he’s such a sweetheart, he just loves being wrapped up and wrapping you up 🥺
And who must be Convinced. (most to least)
Legend
fully expected,
silly man thinks he’s above love and cuddles, and all the good things in life LMAO came for ur throat again
it'll be below-freezing temperatures, in a cave with a barely there campfire, a blizzard outside, the other heroes complaining at him to just get under the blanket so you’ll get under the blanket,
bc you two are just doing that thing where 2 characters have like a table between them and are fake-out dodging left and right to try and catch the other lmao
is most susceptible to cuddles when he’s tired/injured/sick/sleepy.
it’s a cold morning and u just scootch the Links into a pile and use him as a pillow lol, and as long as no one, not even gods, perceives you two, he’ll let you stay
ok but you definitely caught him from falling into lava one time while on Death Mountain, and had to bridal carry him across half a lava lake back to shore, hehe,
Legend swore everyone there to secrecy on their own graves and favorite items
also refuses to let Ravio know of ur human advantages lol
he just wants the attention on himself as much as he can in between the other Links, no need for more competition
Time
silly man just doesn't think of his needs including affection/emotional comfort,
he only rlly initiates when the circumstances are dire, like gale force winds that he can barely walk thru/starting to slip, desert heat getting to him thru his armor and needs ur cooling touch, etc.
he keeps it as professional as he can, like wrapping an arm around ur shoulders, but you just snatch him by the waist and pick him up half the time, was surprised at first, chain giggled at him, then complained lightly, finally just accepted his fate anytime he touches you lol,
YES you have given him a piggyback ride, when a flood of water burst a dam during a battle/the other Links got out but Time didn't bc of his heavy armor,
so u yoink him up and just stood ur ground against the raging waves and climbed a rock until u weren't submerged anymore, poor guy was so worn out from the battle + the flood that he just let you carry him all the way until u camped for the night, and secretly took a nap 😭
like Legend he can be convinced to rely on u when he’s already vulnerable like sleepy/tired/injured/sick, but he does find himself secretly appreciative someone in the group can just lift his heavy ass in full armor/or someone else if it gets bad enough,
got converted and no longer has to be convinced usually, he just doesn't initiate much so u have to lol
Warriors
YET ANOTHER SILLY MAN!!
whats with all these idiots neglecting themselves, both physically and emotionally??
like boy u cant stand the heat of a desert or blizzard, just let in the cuddles 👹
similar to Time, just more vocal abt how appreciative/advantageous it is to have someone to be able to carry comrades out of harsh conditions or battles easily.
Did Not think abt this applying to himself until you literally swept him off his feet like a classic damsel in distress- mans let out a shriek after taking a second to process everything LMAO-
Loudly and Dramatically complains abt u coming to cuddle him, both just to love on him, and to heat him up in a rainstorm, but hugs you back and holds onto you anyway hehe.
Became the 2nd person to find out you’re immune to lightning.
See, everyone heard Legend talk abt u getting struck in a storm in Wild’s hyrule, but no one really came to full terms with it bc they didn't see it. Warrior is now a full believer. He actually got the closest to pissing his armor he ever has in all of his battles bc he forgot abt the metal in the storm = bad idea, until it was too late and u guys were trying to retreat to regroup, bc there were too many black-bloods, only to get full body tackled by you to avoid getting hit by lightning.
You had to bridal carry him for a minute after bc u just got back up after being hit, (it just felt like you rubbed ur body on the carpet and touched a metal wall, like a full body small static shock) bc he was in such a state of literal horror/shock,
Wars saw your life flash before his eyes 💀
Twilight
HA HA HA- HE NEEDS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CONVINCING LMAOOO
goofy wolf man has wolf instincts that help ur case as to Why You Need to Pet Twilight’s Hair and Hold His Hand at All Times if Possible.
main reason Twi’s here is bc he thinks his height + weight = him not needing u to hold onto/cuddle as much, and he would be proven wrong HA
actually gets all blushy/shy anytime u pick him up, freezes like a puppy who’s gotten scruffed too lol
likes a lot more casual touch/cuddles, like arm around ur shoulder or his, sitting with legs touching, leaning against u when he’s cold, etc.
omfg funniest thing abt Wars/Time/Twi is that they’re the tallest out of the Links, so they make for extra fun when picking them up, cuddling etc.
but the best thing ever happened one time when Twi was still recovering from the Shadow’s wound, it got reopened/ached so bad he couldn’t run, but u all were trying to retreat at the moment bc Big Boss,
and u just snatched him up into a piggyback ride, his legs comically sticking out, but the best part was that Hylians are light.
so you were able to run full tilt adrenaline powered run, to the point you surpassed the other Links ahead, and had everyone laughing and simultaneously trying to conserve their breath to keep running LMAO
Twi grew up tall/bigger than kids his age, and is another victim of “no adult figures to pick him up when he was younger”, so he gets this little giddy smile when u pick him up lol <3
the first time u put him in a bridal carry for smth like river rushing waters, mans blushed, stuttered abt smth the whole time, and then didnt let go after you tried to put him down, u didnt have the heart to insist, so u just carried him around half of the day 😭
sorry some have less than others, its nearly 2am I'm just riffing kicking my feet and shit, so I'm not being very thorough
i hope u liked my spiral into blonde twink insanity (well theyre kinda on a spectrum of twinkness)
anyway goodnight, and have a great weekend!!
to the 2 other ppl who sent asks, ill get to you soon and thank you sm for sending stuff :’)
Please feel free to send asks for requests or just to chat :)
Peace out,
🌙

Hyrule’s hope for a relaxing evening is broken by Wind’s question.
“So, we’ve compared battle scars, but who’s come the closest to death?” His sense of after-dinner conversation leaves a lot to be desired.
Twilight groans where he sits on his log and Time frowns, likely judging whether this conversation should be derailed or not.
Sky breaks in before anyone else. “Actually, I fell off Skyloft one time.” His ears redden as they swivel to stare at him. “I was maybe drinking at the inn, okay? And one of the older knights was supposed to give me a ride because I didn’t have my loftwing yet, but he was drunk too. So, over I went, misjudging the edge, and he was, ah…a bit slow to pick up on the fact he needed to catch me.”
Warriors zeroes in on the most important detail, “You get drunk?”
“It was one time! Never again!”
Too late; Four is pointing and laughing. “The great Chosen Hero almost met his end before his journey even began!”
Sky grumbles under his breath; red, but not too mad at the laughter at his expense. “What about you, Wind?”
“Oh, easy, there was this storm at sea one time.” A faint shudder at the memory. “Everyone had to tie themselves on so they didn’t fall off, but if the ship went down, we’d be done for. I’m pretty sure I kissed the sand when we made it back to shore.”
“What about you, Hyrule?” Twilight glances up from where he’s stripping twigs idly off a stick.
“Me?” He pauses to sort through his adventure. “Um, well there were these assassins after me and—”
“Yiga!” Wild’s sharp voice breaks through his story.
“What?”
The champion’s eyes go wider as if realizing a slip. ‘What?’ he signs back.
Confirmation he didn’t mean to share that, then. “Who are the Yiga?”
‘No one. You were saying?’
Hyrule can’t help but frown at the blatant misdirection but lets it slide. “Well, there were these assassins and…” The atmosphere of the group is going decidedly downhill and he scrambles mentally to change direction. Right, near death in this cause doesn’t seem to be linked to journeys to save Hyrule.
“Okay, so this one time I was looking for a hidden entrance to a cave behind all these bushes. Burning them down was going to be the fastest way to find it. But, ah, I might have misjudged how dry the bushes were…and set the whole area on fire.”
Wild’s laughing, likely familiar with the strategy. He’s careful with fire in their eras, but his can weather a burnt field better.
Legend gives him a sharp look like he’d like to know where the assassin story was going, but Hyrule only responds with a serene smile. There’s no need to ruin the evening. “Wild? What about you?”
“Oh!” Wind breaks in with excitement. “I bet you have some great story with bombs and your paraglider and—and arrows, all while fending off a Kraken!”
“What on earth do you think Wild did on his journey?” Four says.
Wind rolls his eyes. “Kicked ass, duh.”
“Language, Wind.”

what do you think the chains favorite breakfast foods are (if they eat breakfast)
I WAS HALFWAY THROUGH ANSWERING THIS AND MY PHONE DIED AND DELETED EVERYTHING I HAD WRITTEN, DEATH AND SORROW AND DESPAIR.
Okay I'm good now.
ANYWAYS, I split you ask into two sections: first, their favorite food ever if they can get their hands on it, the second what they like to eat on the road. And then a final unhinged rant at the bottom about the one thing about teenage boys/young men and their food that I'll never understand: Bacon.
Legend--I have a feeling that he likes sweets. Specifically, waffles with whipped cream and berries. They're a little burnt, but Ravio made them for him, so he'll pretend he doesn't notice (and grows to like them better that way). On the road, he'll go for coffee/tea (he's not picky) if one of the others make it, or nothing at all.
Hyrule--does he have a favorite breakfast food? Food isn't very stable where he comes from--Legend and Wild would spoil him so much in regard of expanding his palate. But I imagine that something like a fried mixture of beef/sausage, vegetables, and a starch (perhaps an even poorer version of an already poor person food Shepherd's Pie, perhaps? it could be a breakfast food) would be a sort of filling, tasty, and easy to procure/make/preserve food that he'd like. On that note, I would say something simple, easy to get and preserve, and hardy would be his go to breakfast on the road--maybe meat jerky.
Wild--Also a sweets person. Fruit cake, cinnamon rolls, frosted cupcakes, basically all the little delicacies he could get at a dumb party 100 years ago, he ain't picky, it's for breakfast and it's fueling a day long sugar high. On the road he, unlike the other Links, can be pretty creative with his breakfasts, and he likes his spice as well. So, I think he'd like Meaty rice balls.
Four--direct this question to someone else please. He has four voices in his head fighting to answer right now, and none of them agree. I surely dont know if he doesn't.
Time--Pancakes and farm-fresh scrambled eggs and toast with jam. Malon makes it for him. What can I say. On the road he is a habitual coffee drinker, he wouldn't be functioning in the mornings without it. But he'll also take a poached egg if he has the time (heh).
Warrior--unlike Time who is a habitual coffee drinker, he is a coffee connoisseur. He likes the breakfasts they serve at the castle--a lot of meats and fruits, expensive, and on top of it all, well plated. Not to say that he can't eat simply--he was in a war, mind you--just that he prefers not to. On the road, he strikes me as the kind that would drink those tasteless quick oats (y'know you just add water, shake and go?) and also be very vocal about much time (heh) it's saving him (being none). I don't know what the Hyrule equivalent of those are.
Twilight--our favorite country boy. I think he likes a true southern breakfast. Ham and pan-fried potatoes and eggs over-easy, with a side of cheesy grits and sausage biscuits and gravy like Uli used to make for him (I HC this man has a black hole of a stomach, out of all the Links). On the road he'll inhale a boiled egg or two (salted and peppered if he's feeling fancy) that Wild made for him. I also head canon that Twilight likes tea with an intensity. And not only sweet tea, but like, ALL of the teas. He gets obsessive. I literally have in my detail/subplot tracking documents for BDOR the following entry underneath chapter 8--Tea: "Twilight’s cure to Wild’s voice is tea. His cure to life’s woes is tea."
Wind--whatever his grandma is making, probably with seafood involved. I've had a crab-spinach-egg casserole for breakfast before, it was good, so I'll give him that. On the road, I can see him packing a lot of bread and some meat (dried fish if he can get it).
Sky--This guy honestly has me stumped. Do those on Skyloft eat Loftwing eggs, or are they considered taboo? They have a lot of pumpkins around--do they incorporate them into their meals?@needfantasticstories you know a lot of Skyward Sword lore, bequeath me your wisdom. Anyways on the road he's a meat and bread person like Wind. Practical.
Now, for my rant about young men and their food quirks:
Bacon. Bacon, as I have witnessed, drives the most reasonable of men insane.
I just a few things to say about this. I have younger brothers, and I born witness to many male sleepover parties. I--as the resident nasty fe-male XD--have been (forced) to cook for them in the mornings. Set a pile of bacon in front of them (or really any meat, but I have found that bacon has the strongest affect) and they turn into WOLVES. They start to crowd around and stare as soon as they begin to smell it (which hey, give me space in the kitchen, please!), snatch it up before the grease even cools, and then retreat into their separate corners of the living room/kitchen and scarf it down, all while avoiding eye contact and projecting just how much they don't care about the bacon they're eating (perhaps so one of the others don't take notice and try to steal it). There's an odd little ritual/rules to the thing, too: for example, it's frowned upon to take more than three or four pieces at a time, there has to be enough for everyone, obviously; but if you finish a second and third serving before some poor sod stumbles in and gets himself a piece--why that is acceptable, even encouraged. But at all times, you could feel them watching each other, judging whether each person had taken acceptable amounts. 6 at once, I have determined, is veritably considered too much, as I have watched an entire group of mid-late teenage boys chase another through the house and outside for this crime of greed. Another thing was the presence of literally any other edible food. If there was anything else--eggs, fruit, even something like a few slices of unbuttered toast or coffee or juice sitting out, this reaction was largely tempered--even if none of the boys took the other foods, they would take a meager one or two pieces of bacon and be satisfied, perhaps reassured that other food was present and their hope of a filling breakfast was not in vain. Most, at that point they would restrain themselves from eating anything (other than their bacon tax) and wait so that everyone could eat together. But the mad scramble that occurs when there is bacon and only bacon in the kitchen (even if other things are cooking, nearly done, and visible to them) is otherworldly.
I never saw it with anything else, not eggs, not fruit, not even sausage or any other breakfast food. And it must be noted that I was exempt from their little ritual of judgement--perhaps as the only woman, or perhaps as the cook, I was allowed to take as much bacon as I liked from the pile, once the initial wave had attacked and retreated with their bounty (and the strips of bacon had cooled enough that mortal human hands such as my own could pick them up). And while they behaved like beasts, I was always very politely thanked for making breakfast once it was over and the frenzy had abated.
Anyways, your ask got me thinking about Malon making a pile of bacon for the boys, activating the beforehand undiscovered "PANIC! BACON!" mode in their brains, and just being utterly confused as they turn into animals. Just the boys descend, and then a few shouts of "Thanks, Malon!" drift in on the wind as they scatter like racoons with treasure, leaving an empty plate spinning behind them.

Okay, well replaying Skyward Sword reminded me that I wrote this like a year ago buried in a reblog so I'm just gonna air it out and plop it here.
The first time Link had disappeared, it had caused alarm. Zelda had just gone missing, ripped from her loftwing by a treacherous tornado, and suddenly Link was a haggard mess, dressed in a knight’s uniform, and then gone. People feared that he had been hurt too, a search shouldn’t last after sunset; he wasn’t a full knight, after all. However, Headmaster Gaepora had managed to calm the academy students, and the news spread throughout Skyloft.
It took almost a week for Link to return to Skyloft. When people saw his crimson loftwing circling around the town, a collective sigh of relief fell over the sky island. If he’d been gone consistently for so long, then he’d only return when he’d found Zelda, after all. Not to mention it meant they were both safe.
However, that had not been the case. Link had been alone, tired, and filthy. His clothes had tears in them in certain places, he had strange silky threads wrapped around parts of his legs, dry blood stains were disturbingly evident on his tunic, and he practically had bags under the already constantly present bags under his eyes. He had landed just by the goddess statue and had not been seen since. However, another bright light had appeared in the cloud barrier, unnerving the Skyloftians, who chattered about it amongst each other.
The bazaar had been exceptionally busy that day, and the new red light in the sky caused people to gather there to discuss the matter. It meant there were long lines just to get inside, and Link had not seemed keen to stand among the crowds to get the supplies he so desperately needed. Instead, he’d sat on the bench outside, waiting for the townspeople to eventually spread throughout the island once more and give him the space he needed to prepare for his next trip.
The crowds did indeed start to thin, but as people trickled out of the bazaar with hot drinks and hot gossip on their tongues, they paused, finding the boy passed out on the bench. At first it was amusing; Link often fell asleep all over town. But then it was worrisome. He looked haggard. Everyone in town was invested in this boy’s well-being; they’d all welcomed him into their homes at one point or another, the adults all remembered the little orphan wandering the island aimlessly in the days after his father’s unfortunate death, they all remembered bringing him into their homes with promises of warm food and a pillow to lay his head on.
So it had been collectively decided that someone would fetch a pillow from their home and get Link a bit more settled. Wryna brought a blanket as well, but Greba had pointed out worriedly that Link was still a mess (with an emphatic “He stinks!” from Kukiel). Mallara had gotten Commander Eagus, who had promptly swaddled Link in the blanket and carried him to the academy to tend to him.
After that encounter, everyone on Skyloft had decided that they’d keep an extra careful eye out for the boy.
This new pact ended up saving the young knight-in-training’s life. The next time he came back, he had fallen off his loftwing entirely, caught only by Pipit, who had been notified that something was wrong when Orielle noticed the loftwing’s panicked screeches. He’d been unconscious before he fell into his classmate’s strong arms, and even Groose and his stooges had watched in concern as Pipit had rushed Link to the infirmary.
But today was not quite so dire. Link had been missing from Skyloft for two weeks after he’d recovered (his periods of absence continued to grow, much to everyone’s concern), but this morning Jakamar, his wife Wryna, and their daughter Kukiel woke up to a surprise green bundle curled up in their bed. He was on the edge, barely taking any space, but he hogged a majority of that side of the bed’s blanket. At first Jakamar nearly jumped out of his skin until he realized who it had to be, and he pulled the blanket back just enough to see the curved little ears and fluffy dirty blonde hair that everyone on Skyloft knew so well.
Blowing out a sigh, he turned away and held his wife as she peered over his shoulder. “Well, at least we know where he is.”
“He’ll be hungry,” Wryna commented. “I’ll get started on breakfast.”
Jakamar grunted in acknowledgement as his wife crawled to the bottom of the bed to climb over the wooden frame so as to avoid waking Link. Kukiel shot up and started to bounce on the bed in excitement, and Jakamar scooped her into his arms and also climbed out of bed in a similar manner. The house was silent as the family cleaned their faces and prepped for the day (though only because the parents constantly had to remind Kukiel to keep quiet with gentle shushes and fingers over their lips), and then Jakamar took his daughter out for a morning stroll while Wryna busied herself in the kitchen area.
When he got back to the smell of a delicious breakfast, he stretched and smiled, glancing at the bed to find it empty. He looked back to see Wryna’s disappointed face.
“He’s gone!” Kukiel exclaimed in her high voice.
“I didn’t see him step out,” Wryna said guiltily.
Jakamar put a hand on his wife and smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry about it, hon. At least he got some sleep. Pack it up in a bottle, if we see him we’ll give it to him.”
Jakamar had the luck to find Link later that day as the boy was meandering around the windmills. Although Jakamar was getting ready to offer the now lukewarm food, Link instead started asking him about the windmill’s missing propeller. Jakamar helped him as best he could, and just as Link rushed off to find Gondo at Jakamar’s suggestion (he figured the robot, though broken, might be able to help), the man called out to him, waving the large bottle with food carefully packed inside.
Link stared at him, confused. Jakamar held out the bottle. “Take it, kid. You look like you’re starving.”
It was a bit of a slip up to admit it to his face. Link often would recoil at such remarks, would cover it up with an embarrassed laugh and then actively avoid whoever said it for a while, which then made it even harder to help him. But it was the truth - he did look gaunt and worn thin. Jakamar was usually a pretty easygoing guy, but this seemed like it was starting to get serious. He wished the headmaster would reel the kid in.
Link’s expression shifted, so easily readable on his face, and his confusion clearly became shame. He looked down at the ground, biting his lip. When Jakamar pushed the bottle into his sight again, he took it wordlessly, but as he locked eyes with the man he gave a grateful smile. Before Jakamar could get a word in, Link turned on his heel and headed for the bazaar.
Jakamar blew out a sigh as he watched the boy run. Hylia look out for him.

skord skord?
Ah yes, another overhated Zelda game that is in my top three. I’ve played this game on the switch and I will say, it’s so much better than the Wii, so if you haven’t played it yet, try to play it on the switch.
Anyways this is one of the few video games that have made me cry. The story is so good and it makes me SUPER emotional. The Link is probably one of the few Links with so much personality poured into him, his relationship with Zelda is super sweet and fun, and the characters and world of skyloft is incredible. The side quests for gratitude crystals is not only wholesome but gets you closer with the residents, so it feels like an island where you grew up with these people. There’s so much to do in this game and I just… AGH I adore it to DEATH.
Groose is easily one of the best characters in Zelda with his incredible development. He’s so complex and insecure about himself and seeing him work through his issues in the game and become good friends with Link is so incredibly wholesome to me. Impa is a strict but sexy awesome character who’s entire story and character is insane to me.
And Fi… she is such an overhated character. Link in this story is super animated and full of personality meanwhile Fi is cold and distant, and these two complement each other so well. And even though she seems to lack personality, she has some moments here and there where she’s being a character, and those moments are amazing. Her saying goodbye to Link affected me more than Midna because you could just feel the bittersweetness. This character is with you through every game with the master sword. And despite not feeling emotions, Fi was happy with Link, and she truly cared about him, just like he cares about her. And I sob everytime. I love Fi she’s one of my favorite companions ever and I wish she wasn’t hated on so much because she doesn’t deserve it.
And let’s not forget Ghirahim, one of my fav characters of all time. He’s such a fascinating and well written villain who rivals Link perfectly! And most bosses in this game are relatively easy to me. But Ghirahim is one of the few bosses that is very hard. He’s not one of those villains that talk a lot of crap and then die in five seconds. He’s a challenge! You’re definitely inexperienced and he’s clearly just toying with you in the beginning! He actually works hard against you in this game instead of sitting around, and the final battle with him, he is truly giving his all, regretting not killing you in the beginning. When he said “what are you?” To Link after being defeated is INCREDIBLE. There was actually a character analysis about him and Groose so I really can’t talk about their characters without talking for five years lol. But yeah, Ghirahim is a GOOD character. And he actually succeeds in what he’s doing! He revives his master! That’s how you know that he’s a genuine threat! Gosh he’s so good
Now for the flaws, alas. The sky isn’t the best? The loftwings are underutilized (Link’s loftwing isn’t even named :/), the world is very small and limited (except for Lanayru, they put all their good ideas into there fr), and there’s a lot of fluff. Like hunting down the song of the hero is just unnecessary to me. Faron is an idiot for not trusting you despite saving her life, then Eldin is just, completely forgettable, and Lanayru is fine. I just don’t like the song of the hero part that much. But of course when you unlock it, that cut scene is incredible.
Another thing is Demise. He sucks. He’s such a boring character to me and he’s way too easy as a final boss fight. Like you see Ghirahim giving his all and then demise just dies immediately 💀💀 but the final boss is the most cinematic boss fight ever so that def is a plus. And I also don’t like the introduction of Hylia. She makes the lore so much more boring and confusing and I wish she didn’t exist. Same thing with demise. Having them there was… a choice that was made and doesn’t answer any questions about Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. Heck, Ganondorf really shouldn’t be included with them. Sure he’s a reoccurring villain, but he’s the same guy everytime, he’s never reincarnated like Link and Zelda. Unless you want to count that as Ganon but I don’t like that whole idea. Idk, it complicates the lore a bit and I can understand why people didn’t like that.
But otherwise a fantastic game that impacted me SO much.

For a moment, when I’m dancing,
Rated G
“Is there anything else you would rather do?”
Images flashed through his mind. Cooking dinner with his mother, evenings spent helping his sister with her schoolwork, trailing after Mipha in the healing wards in Zora’s domain. None of it had ever felt as right as when he had first held the master sword in his hands.
“There is nothing else I know how to do. All I've ever known is to give all of myself to you.” And that was true. It was one of the truest things he had ever spoken. From the moment he first laid eyes on her, he had known that he would give everything and more to her, whatever she might ask.
She looked at him silently, before once again taking his hand in hers.
“Come inside. Dance with me.”
Based on the F+tM song “free”
Bright is the ring of words
Rated G
Kass and Link muse on the roles of the hero and bard, the strange ways in which legends are made, and stories are remembered.
Written for @bahbahhh as part of @zelinkcommunity ‘s Loftwing Letters event. Kass and Link centric, but there’s a hint of Zelink if you squint.

My Light
The sun was high when Sky stepped out of the house he shared with Zelda—his Sun—in the glen near Lanayru. She was cutting wood for the winter; a task he’d promised to help with before the letter came. Crimson waited for him by the gate, preening a curious Indigo.
“Any word? Is Groose doing okay, or is he still sulking?” Sun set her ax on the tree stump and looked at the basket of vegetables and fruit she’d set aside from his garden for their dinner. Sky was many things, but a good cook was not one of them, no matter all the training Wild had tried to give him. Growing it was another matter, with Sun’s aid. She sighed, as they both realized their dinners would be lonely tonight.
“He’s missing. Groose hasn’t shown up in any of the settlements. I’m getting worried. He should have been back by now, and the winter floods are coming soon. But I want to check the mines again. I might be out late.”
“Sky, I’m sure he'll be fine. He just needs time to think about how to make it up to Peatrice. He’s probably rage-building a new track out there. But let me send you out with a few supplies for you both before you go. And I’ll keep a candle in the window for you.”
“You’re the best, Sun. I’ll watch for your light.”
***
Hyrule Castle was a monument to the devotion Sky and Sun felt for their people and their future. They had designed it together, based on the many castles, palaces, monuments, and temples they had seen on their adventures. But they’d always known it would outlast them.
Sky ran up the tower steps, anxious to see his Sun, old joints and sore knees be damned. His daughter, Queen Zelda II, ran up the steps behind him, well into her fifties and yet suddenly a child once more, anxious for her mother.
“Father, what if she doesn’t…”
“We don’t know for certain, my Moonpearl." The old King answered. "We can hope, so let's hold on to it. She’s always been stubborn.”
Despite their hurried climb, Sky paused at the door. He paused, and said one last prayer to the goddess he knew could not longer hear him, and stepped inside. Evening sunlight filtered through a stained glass window showing the Triforce framed by a protecting loftwing. Dust motes danced in the beams that shone on the bed, where lay his Sun.
“The healers said you called for us…” He trailed off when he saw her. Only this morning she had been at rest, if a bit fevered. Now her face was nearly as white as her hair. Her breath rattled loud enough to hear from the doorway. Her shaking hands, once calloused and now soft with age, shook as she reached out to her family.
“My Sun.” Sky ran to her side, ignoring the healers who stood with heads bowed nearby. He left his circlet and red cloak at the foot of the bed. They were always cumbersome.
She took his hands, their old and worn fingers interweaving. “I know, my Sky. But…” her breath rattled as she tried to breath. “But Zelda... Help her.”
“How? She’s grown. She doesn't’ need—”
“You helped me once, when the changes came. But you…and I… know… this isn’t… the end of our story.”
“Mother?” Zelda came cautiously to her mother’s side, and she climbed onto the bed to sit beside her.
Sun seemed to find strength at seeing her daughter, and took Zelda’s strong hand in her aged one. “Darling. It’s time for you to come into your own power now. You are Queen already, but soon you will be something more . Take it slow. We are both somewhat fragile. But this light is yours now. It’s time.”
She kissed her daughter’s hand, who curled beside her mother on the bed as she used to when she was still a child. Her father leaned over Queen Sun, and kneeling at her bedside he kissed her one last time. He’d never hesitated, never been ashamed of his love for her. And nothing had been able to stand between them. Death was their last enemy.
And she had defeated it before they were born.
“I’ll keep a candle in the window for you,” he whispered as her eyes closed.
“And so will I. I’ll watch…for your light too.” She replied, and fell asleep for the last time.
***
Night was falling quickly. Link sat in the open carriage, small and wide-eyed between his mother and Grandpa Smith. He admired the massive turrets of Hyrule Castle, where they would be living now. Father rode on his warhorse ahead of the carriage, leading them to the ceremony where he would receive his promotion to Captain. It was a matter of pride and celebration for the whole family.
As they rode past the gates, Link looked up. High in a tower, a lone candle glowed beside a stained glass window, the image there of the Triforce and two golden wings shone bright in the light.

HELLO AND WELCOME TO
me trying to write the backstories for all the Links in Linked Universe, actually finishing all the backstories!
Let's start with Sky's!
Despite being a day of Autumn, a period of time people on Earth could call the month of November, that day was sunny and fresh. The sky was totally clear, if not for that cloud barrier under the island, and the loftwings with their hylian friends were flying and tweeting happily.
It was just like a fairy tale.
That day, a baby boy was born.
Son of one of the best knights of Skyloft, the commander of an army ready to save everyone and also experts of combat and island defense. His mother instead was a great artist and the best tailor in town, the one in charge of making the knight tunics for the students of the academy who passed the wing ceremony, she also made clothes with different patterns she created.
For their baby, they chose a really special name, Link. It was common to name the kids after some (believed extinct) small bird breeds the inhabitants could find in a huge book at the academy.
But "Link" wasn't in that book. They just liked the meaning of the name and how it sounded, and decided the tradition wasn't going to stop them.
His mother was the best friend of the academy headmaster's wife. The headmaster, Gaepora, became a close friend of Link's father when he got married with Link's mother.
When Link was born, Gaepora's wife was expecting a baby, and in case it was a girl she liked the name Zelda, a name that had gone unused for a long time. She too refused to follow the tradition.
Regardless of their gender, the two besties decided their kids would spend their time together to hopefully be besties like their mothers.
Link was a happy and lively kid. Often sleeping, but he loved looking at his mother working or painting. He loved Zelda's mother too, he and his mom were in her room the moment she gave birth to her baby girl some time later, in the month humans on Earth called July, with Gaepora and few doctors. And they were there too when she started to feel unwell right after her child was born, the doctors shouted something, and and then Link quickly found himself in his mom's arms as she held him and the newborn Zelda tight at her chest, and brought them away from that room that was now becoming a place of death instead of birth.
Zelda was fed with Link's bottle, put into some blankets, and then Gaepora came and sang a lullaby that made both the kids sleep peacefully, unaware Zelda's mother had had serious complications and didn't make it.
The day after, Link's mother realized all that happened. She was desperate.
For more than 2 years she refused to get out of her home and meet people. She worked so hard as a way to cope she could finish the work of a year in only a few months. 10 years in about 2 and a half years. But wait, she wasn’t a bad mother at all! She loved her son, she knew great bedtime stories, she cooked well, she hugged him a lot, and he loved drawing, learning things from her, and going to the bazaar with his father, and telling both his parents he would become the greatest knight one day.
But still, he mostly lived at home, and so he didn’t really have friends.
In the meantime, the little Zelda was growing up around lots of people. Her father was the headmaster of the Knight Academy after all, and while he was too busy to give her attention she would play with Henya, with the other professors, and with some students. Living in an academy meant she would sneak into the classrooms to get hugs, crawling at first, then with a walker, and then walking and running on her own. She met so many people during the day, but her father knew she could feel she lacked something. He was trying so hard to fill that void, even if he knew he couldn’t even be half as good as his wife in bedtime stories, in those cute silly games kids liked, and in a variety of other things.
Link’s mother let time heal her. When Link was 3 years old, she decided it was time to meet Zelda and Gaepora again, and hopefully let Link and Zelda be friends.
That day he was with both his mother and father. The fact his mother was outside, walking with them towards the academy, felt strange for him, in a good way of course, he was happy to see her finally getting some fresh air! And looking at all the loftwings flying above!
Link had been many times at the academy before that tragic event, but couldn’t remember it, he was too young. He just thought the place looked familiar and great.
Many people, mostly professors and other members of the staff, recognized the kid as the commander’s son and acted like they had known him forever. Instead, he had never met anyone except for his parents and the nice sellers at the bazaar. He felt anxious and embarrassed. When Gaepora reached the family to greet them and reassure them he could understand Link’s mother perfectly, the little boy felt overwhelmed by the too many people around him. He ran upstairs, found a slightly open door and got in, only to find Zelda laid on her bed, looking at some illustrations in a book. They were about animals, flowers, trees, and various places he didn’t know.
Zelda jumped off her bed and greeted him. She was so excited! He was the only kid her age she had ever met. Well, same for Link. She noticed he didn’t really know what to do, so she handed him her book, and suggested looking at the images together, saying that since they couldn’t read, they could think up some names for all those unknown animals and plants. She thought everything in the book wasn’t real, they must have been some creatures from fantasy stories, the ones her father tried to tell her before going to sleep, only for him to fall asleep before her.
The atmosphere was great, and the kids spent quality time together, looking at the pictures and guessing names, until Link’s parents found them. They were worried, they thought he got lost in the academy, or got out without telling them. Instead the kids were now friends, and they would become best friends in no time.
Some years passed, and the kids were every year closer to each other. Link’s mother had invited Zelda to sleep at her home when she felt like listening to bedtime stories, and Zelda loved to bring history books with her, so they often ended up reading something that felt unreal, imaginary, but was in fact real, they just didn’t know it. Zelda had her own new bed in Link’s house, her own mug, and her own chair at the table. Of course, Link was given a bed in the academy for when he wanted to stay there, and sneak into the kitchen in the morning to eat Henya’s perfect breakfast, and then into the classrooms to listen to some history lessons.
When Link started going to school at age 6, Zelda followed him, starting to attend the lessons one year in advance. She had learnt to read and write early, her father taught her and Link the basics when she wasn't even 5 years old. She knew a lot more than other kids, so she integrated perfectly. The other kids loved to be around her, she was the "little one", and the headmaster's daughter! However, while still liking her new friends, Zelda remained as close to Link as before, nothing changed. Link was sometimes seen as an obstacle in the other kids' views though, the one that was always with Zelda. The fact the two were the best students in their classroom didn’t help.
One day, a huge cloud formation appeared in the sky, completely covering some of the best little islands the Skyloftians knew. Link’s father and his army investigated the situation but at least then they couldn’t find anything relevant. The small floating islands were still there, intact, and aside from being humid and dark, that place looked kinda… natural.
Some days later, at the start of Spring, the kids got their loftwings. Link’s one arrived later compared to the other kids his age. He should have gotten his the year before, with the kids born during his same year, but his loftwing didn’t show up and he got convinced by everyone around that his feathered friend was “Zelda’s loftwing’s bestie” and they would show up together the year after. Some kids like Groose started addressing him as the kid without a loftwing, or “Mr. no loftwing”.
Luckily, one year later his crimson loftwing showed up and surprised everyone with its rarity, its brightness, and its regality. It looked like it was sent by the goddess Hylia herself!
The knights hadn’t noticed anything in the thunderhead because the parasite hiding there was still invisible and it hadn’t reproduced on a large scale yet. But its replication speed increased exponentially, and in no time those pests got on everyone who ventured into or near the thunderhead, then bringing them on the mainland. The effects of the parasites were catastrophic, with burning fevers, headaches and loss of strength. The infected people were either forced in their beds or acted like zombies.
Everyone with knowledge on parasites and medical issues on Skyloft reunited to find a solution. Luckily, the kids weren’t affected, or not as much as elders or fragile people.
Link and Zelda were some of the first kids to get ill, but healed in a short time as their young, strong and healthy bodies weren't a good habitat for the ultra small monsters.
However, Link's mother was in the fragile category, even though she didn't know it. In fact, she was, still unknowingly, carrying Link's younger sibling with her. She got infected, the parasites quickly took over the fetus and then her, leaving her body really few chances of surviving…
Link was almost 7 years old.
He was given his personal room at the academy, pretty much like Zelda had her own. His father had healed perfectly from the infection and was ready to find the source of the illness and defeat it, for the safety of everyone, but mostly to avenge the death of his adorable and skilled wife, Link’s mother. He was often out for work, and Link couldn't live alone.
His new room was bigger than his former one, even though it was the only place he could consider his, instead of an entire home.
The kids tried to fill their newly opened gap by learning Link's mom's favorite activities. Zelda had been taught the basics of sewing some years before, she had never given it a chance though, maybe now was the right time. Link needed to do something too! As he already knew how to draw and often illustrated his and Zelda's loftwings, he technically had learnt one of her favorite activities. However, only the thought of doing nothing new in her honor made him feel bad, he had to do something for her! Then, he had an idea: he could make his mom the gift of turning her drawings into something real. He asked around, and he found out wood carving was a thing. In a relatively short time, Link had become a new kind of artist. Of course, the loftwings were his favorite subjects. And he loved to see Zelda making small clothes for his little creations!
The knights took a few years to defeat all the parasites. But they couldn’t, even by using all their knowledge, do any scratch to the thunderhead.  Not even the help of Levias, a huge and wise Sky Spirit, could do anything. However, Levias suggested that he could live in the thunderhead to watch over it, so he could inform the knights of anything suspicious. The Sky Spirit, though, didn't know he had been infected. The effects on him were different than those the Hylians showed. In fact, the parasite began slowly growing inside him.
When Link was 11 years old, Levias had ceased to send regular information on the thunderhead. The knights, guided by Link’s father, went investigating, only to find the Sky Spirit corrupted, the parasite had grown inside him at the point it took control of him and had become huge. Bylocite.
The knights tried everything, but the monster was totally unknown to them and they couldn't guess any of its next moves. Their loftwings got scarred and muted into skeletal monsters, making the knights fall and disappear. Link’s father and his loftwing got hit too, managed to escape, but by the time they got back on Skyloft they had already lost all of their strength and too much blood. They both died shortly after having informed the professors on what was happening. Levias's name wasn't to be pronounced anymore, Link wasn't even informed on the cause of his father's death.
Only Pumm, the owner of Lumpy Pumpkin, could send a knight there once a year, only to leave his famous soup and get out as fast as possible. It was Levias's favorite, everyone hoped it would help.
Link and Zelda got closer, Link found comfort in wood carving and playing with Zelda, he was also determined to become the best knight and, maybe one day, find what killed his father and defeat it.
As he had become the best of his classmates, even being able to challenge the senior students, Groose began bullying him. He wasn’t really in shape to fight back, he had so much to process in those times, so Zelda took his back, defending him every time. Of course, this led to the bullies making fun of Link for being saved by his "girlfriend" (though they weren't in a relationship).
Link didn't let anything and anybody stop his determination though, he was the first to get into the classroom, the one who asked the most questions and who trained the most. He loved to fly with his companion and to improve his sword techniques by exercising in his room. This led to his window being broken several times, and the loftwings used the hole to get their heads in the room to be pet, or to bring Link various things.
It happened so many times Gaepora decided to completely replace the window with a wooden one.
Zelda, of course, taught her companion to bring Link letters.
When Link was about 14 Zelda had started to have frequent sleepless nights, and he would always stay with her and try to make her relax and hopefully fall asleep. She told Link images of monsters and destruction would often appear once she closed her eyes, and even if she had tried everything to make them stop, they were there, getting worse in her short sleep and bringing nightmares.
Luckily, this lasted only a few months. But both Link and Zelda couldn't get to class in time during that time, and had to work hard to keep up with the other students. This led to them, especially Link, to mess up their sleeping schedule, and it led Link to get bullied more.
Nothing strange happened for about 3 years, only that Zelda sometimes heard sounds, more like an unclear voice, coming from below. She got used to it though, and as nobody else could hear the voice she kept the thing for herself. Link had returned to sleep well, almost sleeping too much. He found out he missed sleeping more than he imagined, at the point Zelda began calling him sleepyhead. Link found out he didn't mind the nickname, in fact he kinda liked it when said by her, well maybe because he had started to like everything about her. Though, he was afraid she wouldn't feel the same, so he decided to keep his feelings a secret.
Then, it was his turn for nightmares. Visions of his loftwing abandoning him, visions of Zelda falling off hers, a huge monster eating Zelda, someone holding Zelda's dead body and much more. Mostly, he hated those dreams in which Zelda was in danger and he was too late to save her or he was unable to move. He would shiver in his sleep, scream, or move enough to fall from his bed.
He would get to class already tired, he spent his free time in the day trying to sleep from exhaustion rather than exercising with his loftwing.
His grades, luckily, didn't change that much, as he could at least study when he couldn't sleep.
He didn't really want to annoy everyone so he tried to hide it, being seen as lazy, weak, or with his head in the clouds in return.
In the meantime, the thunderhead had gotten a thicker cloud barrier, it was impossible for everyone to get in, and Pumm stopped making soup for Levias, that was still possessed, even if nobody had seen him after what happened with Link's father. Maybe Levias still had some senses and decided to hide from the Hylians so he could avoid killing people.
The academic year had almost come to an end and Link's situation hadn't changed at all. At least, Zelda was always there for him, so beautiful, strong, wise, and sometimes chaotic. He was sure his feelings for her would never change…
The day of the Wing ceremony had finally arrived.
------
After the adventure, he and Zelda decided to live on the surface, as the goddess Hylia had intended for all the inhabitants of Skyloft (or at least, Zelda said so). The two had started to imagine what a future village would look like, and found the perfect place on the border of Faron Woods with the help of the locals, Sheikah included. The tribe left them some hints on how to find them, and when they met they offered them a temporary house and all the hospitality they could give.
Link and Zelda, now an established couple, were going to invite some other civilians, like Groose or Gaepora, to the Surface. They called their loftwings, that surprisingly heard them, and headed to Skyloft. Zelda managed to land safely, while a huge portal opened in front of Link and his crimson loftwing. Link disappeared, while his loftwing went through and past the portal like it didn't exist or have any mass at all…

(This is for the post about the which animals the boys™ would be cause it became too long for a comment lol)
Time, Twilight & Wild are all wolves
Sky is a Loftwing
Four is a field mouse
Wind = albatross.
Legend is bunny (duh).
Hyrule is a buck.
And Wars is a lion.
I personally hc tho that Legend actually has more than one animal form. Like in my head he's the golden three's fav so they each gave him a separate form. Nayru gave him the bunny to represent his kindness and gentleness. Din gave him a dragon form to show off his strength and determination. (Extra hc incoming) Farore gave him the form of Satori/Lord of the Mountain which he'll use after death when he becomes a deity to protect the animals of Hyrule.
I have a lot more hc pertaining to this question but i will spare you my ranting.
Cheers! 🖤
please don't spare me your ranting I love this. I mean technically Legend has multiple animal forms, at least including the manga, right? I think he got turned into a wolfos at some point but I could be wrong lol.
Also, Legend being Satori is great because he's the king of the magic bunnies and also giving Wild a hard time on purpose.
Thanks for the suggestions!!

Shit my friend has said playing Legend of Zelda
(I know there’s one already floating around but I can’t find it and decided I also wanted to re-do it)
Breath of the Wild
“Honestly if I was Link, I’d be like “Five more minutes..”
“If it was me, I’d be wondering why the hell I’m just in my underwear.”
"Why the hell am I in my underwear?"
*laughing cause he made Link kick the chest barefoot* “That’s what happen when you let intrusive thoughts win”
“Fuck off, monsters!”
"Is it bad I want to set things on fire?"
“I can’t pet the dog?! That’s just rude!”
“There’s dragons?!”
*humming mission impossible while sneaking around the Yiga Clan hideout*
“Oooh, I can see why you like him!”
“Fuck me, he’s tall.”
“Oh my god, I can be like Captain Jack Sparrow!”
“No, I don’t wanna fight, please go away!”
“Oh, that’s shocking.”
“I look fabulous in this outfit!”
“Fight me, bitch!”
“Damn, it’s hot.”
“Yes! Suck on that Thunderblight Ganon! First fucking try!”
“Such fun!”
“Do you think I could get a selfie with that monster?”
“Yes! Direct hit!”
“Oh fuck! Oh shit!”
“Don’t wanna die thanks!”
“FUCK I DIED!”
Twilight Princess
“I’m gonna give the horse a stupid name.”
“Wait, am I a babysitter for these kids or something?”
“Maybe giving me a slingshot wasn’t the best idea.”
“Oh shit, I’m a wolf.”
“Oh, a weird black wall with orange markings. That’s not scary at all.”
“She’s so sassy, I love her!”
“He definitely has some screws loose.”
“Stop horsin’ around!”
“Oh, I can pick up the cats and puppy?! Dream come true honestly.”
“She definitely has the hots for him. I mean, same.”
“Death Mountain. What a fitting name.”
“I can see why they’re called the Lost Woods. I think I’m lost.”
“Oooh there’s the Master Sword!”
“She’s so pretty!”
“I love how I’ve just accepted my destiny like ‘Oh, I’m the hero. I guess this is my life now.”
“Can I take a nap?”
“Oooh I feel like a cowboy with this background music!”
Skyward Sword
“I believe I can fly!”
“Loftwings are so cool!”
“He’s got a really small head”
“Why can’t we name ours. I would give it such a cool name!”
“I kinda wish there was a ‘punch him in the face’ action.”
*gives the screen the middle finger* (mostly at Groose)
“So, we have to follow the blue floating lady. That’s not ominous at all.”
“Oops, I fell on my face.”
“Don’t blame me, I panicked!”
“I kinda like him. Even if he’s evil.”
“Fuck off!”
“Jesus this boss is annoying!”
“Ooh I love the different places!”
“This music is definitely gonna be stuck in my head for days. I can see why you like it though.”
“Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!”
“But why?!”

Taking a road trip to the Roller Coaster Capital of the World last summer naturally got me thinking about whether or not the Links would enjoy these modern mechanical feats of ingenuity. Enjoy these long overdue LU Links + Roller Coaster Headcanons! 🎢
~ ~ ~
Wind - learning to love them. Adopted as Wild's unofficial riding partner, which makes Wind feel like a Kewl Kid™. Secretly apprehensive of going upside down for the first time, but puts on a brave face and rides anyways. Proceeds to shout about how "totally gnarly" the ride was afterwards, where everyone in his vicinity must suffer through a play-by-play of his entire ride experience. Will invariably (and illicitly) reach into the water to give you an extra splash on water rides, so watch out.
Sky - loves them. The fast launch coasters remind him of flying, and he loves that wind-whipping-through-your-hair sensation that nothing but loftwing flight can replicate. Rides with his hands in the air the entire time, which Wind tries to copy but only with partial success. Screams to his heart’s content, so expect to get an earful if you sit next to him. He and Zelda would absolutely be one of those disgustingly cute couples that lather on the PDA while waiting in line, where Legend pulls faces in the background.
Wild - lives for them. The more inversions, the better. (Think AT's ‘The Smiler,’ or ‘X2’ at Magic Mountain.) What you would call a proper “thoosie.” Enjoys terrorizing the others in the queue before boarding. (Wild: “You know people have fallen to their deaths on this, right?” Wind: “Wait, really? Do you think we’ll be okay??😨” Twi: “No they haven’t, can it Wild.”) Complains about trim brakes and stapling every time without fail. Excessively entertained by the ride photos, esp Twilight’s faces in them. Knows where all the cameras are and poses in the most ridiculous ways you can imagine.
Warrior - likes them in moderation. Will go on the high intensity rides but starts to feel woozy after too many, so don’t ask him to marathon them. Spends ten minutes fixing his hair after each ride, in which he's often left behind. Jokes about holding a worried Legend’s hand to convince him onto the big rides, which predictably triggers threats and a shouting match. (Nobody comments when Legend still chooses to sit next to him, though.) Enjoys mocking everyone’s pics at the ride exits, including his own.
Hyrule - loves them, especially the chaotic spinning rides. Likely to get sick after repeated runs, but always forgets and rides them anyway. (Just don’t feed him right before he rides, lol.) Probably the loudest screamer next to Sky. Enjoys the big coasters but is just as enthralled by the carnival games, skyrail, and bumper cars. Enjoys a quick stop at the petting zoo as much as any roller coaster. He's the quintessential friend to take to a theme park because he's down for anything and everything.
Time - used to enjoy them more, but now prefers the mellow rides. Jokes it’s because of his changing biochemistry as he ages. Partial to classic Disney-style family rides, esp the ones where he can sit passively and observe the corny scares and funny animatronics (or, better yet, a lazy boat cruise whiling the time away with Malon). Will ride the big baddies if pressured, though he’ll make sure to groan about it. Classic wooden roller coasters give him a headache. Remains straight-faced on all the rides so he looks utterly bored in all the photos, much to Wild’s chagrin and Twilight’s disbelief.
Legend - the most wary when it comes to roller coasters. Finds it hard to place his life in the trust of something he has no control over. Plays it off as nbd to save face, but privately he’s nervous. The only one who can really convince him to ride is Hyrule, maybe Warrior if Legend feels he has something to prove. Insists on being in the middle seat whenever possible. Keeps his eyes closed the entire time. Point blank refuses drop towers or anything that’s too tall. Carnival games remind him of her and he avoids those as well, claiming they’re all a big scam.
Twilight - mostly indifferent but tolerates them. Claims that a quick ride on Epona is more liberating than any roller coaster could be, and it's all he needs in life (commence eye-rolling from Wild). Feels more concerned over securing the loose articles in his pockets than over the coasters themselves. (Wild, after the ride ends: “Uh-oh, Twi, your shadow crystal’s missing!” Twi: “What?!” Wild: “Haha sike, it’s right here.” Twi: 😑) Enjoys browsing through the western-themed shops in the ghost town section of the park. Will go on the rides to appease Wild, but regrets it almost every time after the relentless teasing at the photo booths.
Four - doesn’t really care for them. It doesn’t help that he’s too short for the extreme rides anyways. May or may not have stuffed his shoes before to reach the height limit. More fascinated by the operating tech than the actual ride experience itself. Not above riding the kiddie attractions, where he goads Time, Twilight, or Legend to join him. Is an outright menace at go-karts and bumper cars. Loves cotton candy and insists upon getting some whenever they go.

PLEASE share your thoughts on Sky in botw for no reason it sounds hilarious (of course u don’t have to if u don’t want to though)
AAA i have many thoughts but none are coherent be warned. i dont know where i was going with a single point in this post i wrote this all at 1 am so excuse this mess
i like to imagine he just walks into Hateno one day and scares the locals with his weirdly hylian-like but not-quite language (either spoken or signed, because i'd imagine sign language has changed over millennia too), so they call Link and Zelda for help
Link's like "no worries i've met everyone around Hyrule they're probably looking for me" until he walks out, sees Sky, and goes "i've never met this man in my life,"
the first week or so is just the longest and most infuriating game of charades ever between them as they try to learn a better way to communicate
Link keeps wondering why the new guy keeps looking at his horse like he's never seen one before. he won't even go near the creature
which gets funny when the horse decides to follow Sky around and scare him half to death
Link and Zelda try taking him to Impa but he keeps getting distracted with everything in the village because "Hey those are the symbols (his) Impa had on her clothes that's funny. are these people related to her??"
oh yeah and they also had to convince him to ride a horse to even go there which didn't go well either
they end up leaving him with the cuccoo guy while They talk to Impa and Sky has the time of his LIFE with the tiny birds
Impa, understandably, has no idea who this guy is either, but if she had to guess he's an ancient hero that somehow washed up millennia after his era
Zelda: okay but what do we do with him
Impa: babysit him ig????
you know those movies where the main character suddenly gets handed a child and they have to take care of them throughout the movie? that's Link and Zelda with Sky. except he's technically older than them
the second they manage to like, communicate he starts talking about missing the sky and the clouds and flying and Zelda's like "oh hylia he's the first hero help me"
Sky probably keeps acting way too relaxed for someone who's not in his home
Link leaves the master cycle zero unsupervised for three seconds and next thing he knows Sky is using it no problem and driving directly into a bokoblin camp
oh god okay i know i was talking about this like, post botw but consider: Sky In Pre-Calamity Hyrule For No Reason
maybe in this scenario he's like. Hylia's answer to Zelda's prayers for help. the language barrier isnt too helpful tho
i know her prayers are to awaken her power but i mean. who better to help you understand the Triforce's power than the guy who first got it all?
anyways Sky's never seen Zora OR Gerudo OR Rito before can you imagine how he'd react. this poor man
Revali, seeing both Links standing together: oh Hylia above, there's two of them?
Sky is obsessed with Vah Medoh but Revali wont let him go there. Sky wont give up because if he and Groose ended up getting along he can get along with this weird loftwing guy
i just think he'd get along with the champions :) frends
oh no i just imagined Sky in the middle of the calamity itself. oh no. anyways,
Sky likes playing matchmaking so you BET he'd be out there causing problems on purpose and trying to help around with romantic stuff. like idk hyping up Mipha when she's trying to tell Link something or stuff like that
okay but in general can you imagine how excited Zelda, local nerd, would be over getting to talk to a walking piece of history?? i think it'd be really cute
this got too long and it makes no sense sorry about that

Ghost Wind AU Part 3
I figured the LU Linktober prompt ‘Ghost’ would be a perfect opportunity to post the next of this AU (+ an extra sad autumn themed section at the end)
part 1 | part 2
“—and so I was trying to tell her, ‘Hey, Zelda, my loftwing’s missing,’ but when she’s in that kind of mood, there’s no stopping her, and she pushed me right off the edge! So, there I was, falling to my death, and…”
The Links have just woken up and the camp is filled with the sounds of light, early-morning chatter interspersed with the occasional sleepy grumble. The sky is already a cloudless blue, but a chilly wind signals that the last of summer has been and gone, the occasional orange leaf fluttering delicately to the ground. The fire crackles merrily as Wild finishes cooking breakfast and the others clatter around as they clear up camp for the day’s travel.
Sky sits with his back against a tree, whittling a block of wood that has not yet been formed enough to distinguish a shape. He blatantly ignores the early morning chaos and is the picture of calm, his voice a low rumble as he tells his story. Wind is listening with rapt attention, sitting cross-legged on the floor opposite with his elbow on his knees.
“Agh, it’s too early for your pining, Sky,” grumbles Legend from nearby, interrupting Sky’s flow. His hair is still sleep-mussed, and he is tiredly trying to stuff his blanket into his already bulging bag.
If there’s one thing to know about Legend, it’s that he’s not a morning person.
“I’m talking to Wind,” Sky replies defensively.
“He doesn’t want to hear about your infatuation for your Zelda.”
“Do too,” Wind counters.
“How do you know?” Sky asks. He looks put out and self-conscious, and Wind lets out a huff of annoyance. For someone generally so in tune with people’s feelings, Legend can be needlessly brash at times.
“Funny you say that, actually,” Legend replies with a sly smile, “Wind and I have been working on something.”
Wind perks up as Legend rummages through his bag before bringing out a large piece of rolled up paper. Sky approaches him curiously whilst Legend kneels down and unrolls it on the ground, smoothing it until it lies flat.
“What is it?” he asks, studying the numbers and letters spaced evenly throughout the paper in no discernible language. Wind notes that even if they had spelled something, Sky wouldn’t be able to read it anyway as his language uses a different script to the majority of the others, including Wind’s own.
“Ouija board,” Legend replies.
“Eh?”
“Ravio tried to sell me one once; it’s meant to help you contact spirits. It was a complete scam, of course, because the last thing you want to be doing when you come across the majority of ghosts in my world is inviting them to engage in small talk. But anyway, I remembered about it the other day and, give Rav credit where it’s due, I thought it would be a good way to speak to Wind.”
“So how does it work?”
“Watch,” Legend replies. He picks up a piece of dried leaf from the ground, courtesy of the steadily turning season, and drops it onto the middle of the page.
“Wind,” he begins, a dramatic flare to his voice that makes Wind want to roll his eyes, but clearly has Sky enthralled, “Do you enjoy listening to Sky drone on about his sickening love stories?”
Sky makes a faint wounded sound and Wind reaches out with a hand, putting all his focus onto the leaf. He still finds it difficult to move objects, even ones as small as this, though it usually gets easier once he’s started.
If he had to describe the feeling of moving solid objects as a ghost, Wind would liken it to trying to focus his vision on something while wearing his grandmother’s glasses, except with his hand rather than his eyes. It takes a lot of focus and leaves him with a headache more often than not, but once he gets the hang of it, it becomes a little easier.
It only takes him a couple of tries before the crisp, flaky texture of the leaf becomes apparent under his forefinger, and he smiles in triumph.
He slides the leaf across the paper to where Legend has written ‘YES’ in neat, bold ink. He pauses for a second before sliding it again towards the ‘D’ and then the ‘I’ and then gradually to ‘C, K, H, E, A, D’ before sliding it back to the middle and taking his finger away with a smirk.
Legend continues to stare at the page with a frown, even after the leaf stills.
“What did he say?” Sky asks curiously. Legend says nothing.
Sky smirks.
“He said yes, didn’t he?”
“Whatever,” mutters Legend, pushing himself to his feet. He brushes the leaf off the page and rolls it up again, stuffing it roughly back into his overflowing bag before stalking over to where Hyrule is conversing with Wild next to the fire.
Sky chuckles.
“Thanks, Wind.”
Wind smiles contentedly as Sky delves back into his story, the happy, rhythmic sounds of his knife against the block of wood lulling him to serenity.
 ________
Wind pings a branch as they pass, the single leaf still clinging to its twig loosening and tumbling gracefully to the ground. The nine of them are silent as they walk through the mild woodland, though it is a comfortable, cosy silence of those who are content with the mere presence of one another. Wolfie walks beside him and Wind smiles at him every so often, just because he can.
Wind can’t smell much anymore, but he can imagine the distinct, spicy scent of rotting leaves and autumn air. He can almost feel the dry chill that bites noses and fingers and reddens the cheeks of the other Links.
Where spring is the beginning of life, autumn is the ending of things, and despite Wind’s lack of senses, he feels that same melancholy sweetness that comes with the ending of summer and winter looming menacingly on the horizon every year.
He’s never had any truly bitter feelings towards it, though.
“My Grandmother’s favourite season was autumn,” he tells the wolf who looks up at him for a moment to show he’s listening. His voice is the only sound among the crunching of leaves underfoot, yet the others have no way of listening.
“She always made me and Aryll pumpkin soup on the day we lit the hearth for the first time when the weather got cold. I would always have been out sailing for the day and I’d come home chilled to the bone, but that always warmed me up…”
He trails off as he thinks of those days and the true contentment that came with them. He had felt safe in that house with his family in a way he hadn’t since.
“I don’t really feel the cold anymore,” he muses aloud, “or warmth,” he adds.
Yes, autumn is a bittersweet season. More so these days, but it always has been, even when he was alive. Those many autumns alone had been tinged with more sadness and longing than most, but he supposes this one will be better.
Wolfie walks a little closer to him and Wind loses himself to his thoughts and the crunch, crunch of the others’ footsteps.

Cheesy Pick-Up Lines
Masterlist
Can’t get more self explanatory than this folks.
For Wind’s scenario, the reader is the same age.
Very cheesy lines up ahead. Viewer discretion is advised.
Time
“Do you believe in love at first sight- or I need to walk by again?” You raise an eyebrow at Time with a smirk and a cocky pose with a hand on your hip.
He looks down at you and fails to stop his own smirk in time.
However Time does not answer you.
You bite you tongue, a little frustrated at the lack of reaction and try with a different one. “You know if sexy was a crime, you’d be found guilty as charged.”
You wink this time for good measure.
Time snorts and shakes his head. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“...Trying to get you to blush.” You admit with a shy grin and a shrug.
“You’re going to have to do more than that.” His smirk grows.
“You could be a little cooperative.” You mutter and pout.
“Your lines need a little more work.” He begins to make his way toward you. “But there’s a golden rule to this that you should learn if you want a place to start.”
“Hey! What do you-” You stop short and gulp slightly as Time gets into your personal space. “...know...?”
Time takes your chin between his thumb and pointer finger and tilts your head up. It’s a gentle touch that catches you off guard and makes you feel smaller than you usually do when you’re next to him. He stares right into your eyes and your forced to do the same.
“Here’s the thing.” He begins and you swear his voice drops an octave. “I don’t consider myself a religious man... But when I first laid my eyes on you I knew that you were the answers to my prayers.”
Time lets you go and begins to walk away as if that never happened. “Delivery is key.”
You look after him, heart pounding, a little breathless and feeling the heat of his breath on your face still. Or maybe the heat is your blush.
Oh it’s on now.
Twilight
“Excuse me, Sir Twilight.” You wave to your friend and smile easily when he gives you his attention. “I am in need of a map.”
“Why are you talking like that?”
“I-... Come on man, you don’t have to rain on my parade.” You pout slightly and refuse to give in when he chuckles at your theatrics.
“Oh, my apologies. What do you need a map for?” He smiles and places his hands on his hips.
“It appears I’ve gotten lost.” You hold your head up high and step closer to him.
“How? I’m right here. How are you lost?”
“I’ve gotten lost in your eyes.” You wink and faint on him slightly. “They’re just like the ocean! I’d gladly swim in them all day!”
Twilight pushes you off gently and flicks your forehead.
“Ow.”
“You’ll live. You’ve got thick skin.” He grins. “It’s not as thick as my shirt however. It’s made out of something not found just anywhere.”
“Oh yeah?” You rub the spot gently. “What’s it made of then country boy? Goat hair?”
“Oh you know... It’s boyfriend material.” He says with a shrug and spins around to walk away.
“Oh haha...” You smirk and walk a little faster to catch up to him. “Of course it is. Before you go, do you mind holding this for me?”
You stick your clenched hand out next to Twilight and he holds his own hand out without any thought to it. “Sure what is it?”
You don’t answer and instead place your hand down in his, unfurl your fingers and lace them with his. “Thanks, it was getting heavy.”
He snorts but continues to hold it for the rest of the walk.
Wild
“Are you a camera? Because every time I look at you I smile!” You jump on Wild’s back and hug him from behind, a laugh on your breath and a grin on your face.
Wild laughs as well and grabs your arms, spinning around for a moment before letting you fall. “That was cheesy.”
“It was supposed to be.” You wink.
“Do you even have a camera?” Wild rolls his eyes.
“That has nothing to do with what I said.” You pout slightly and put your hands on your hips. “But I know you do. You’re really good at using it to.”
“Not that good.”
“Wild you have natural talent, a gift if you will, at taking photos.” You nudge him with your arm and mockingly bow.
“I’m wouldn’t consider myself a photographer.”
“But incredibly good at taking them in the moment.”
“I suppose so.” Wild shrugs and tosses a cocky smile in your direction. ”I mean, I can definitely picture us together.”
You bite you lip in an attempt to hide your growing grin. “Do you have any raisins?”
“Nope.”
“How about dates?”
“None of those either.”
“Want to go on one with me?”
Wild pauses mid-step and blinks for a moment before turning to you. “Oh, you’re good.”
Sky
“What is it that you do for fun back in your home world?” Sky asks as your both walking through the forest for the day.
Grin and tilt your head in his direction. “I’m studying to become a historian. I’m especially interested in finding a date.” You send him a wink.
He scoffs but smiles good naturedly. “Of course. Naturally.”
“You?”
“I like the ride my loftwing through the sky and see the view. I wish I could show you guys but...”
“Maybe when we get there.” You nudge his shoulder and point up to the clouds above you. “Hopefully the skies look better there than here.”
“It’s absolutely is.” He looks up as well and you look over to him.
You lean in a little and snap, a large smile on your face. “I think I figured it out!”
“What?”
“No wonder the sky is grey- all the color is in your eyes.”
Sky bites his lip and puts his hand to his face to hide his growing smile and blush as he laughs. “Stop.”
“Did the sun just come out or did you smile at me?”
“Oh my god!”
Hyrule
“Hyrule, I have a question that I think only you can answer.” You say and wrap your arm around his shoulders.
This takes him by surprise and he’s quick to offer his assistance. “What is it?”
“You’re pretty good with magic right?”
“I know a few spells, sure, but if it’s about magic as a whole? You might better off with Legend.” Hyrule shrugs and offers an apologetic smile.
“But my question is about your magic.” You stress and poke his chest. “You see, before I get to where I’m going, let me ask you this. Are you a magician?”
“...I’d consider myself more a mage?” He tilts his head.
“Ok, prefect, explain this to me then, if you’d be so kind.” You can’t help but grin wildly. “Why is it then, that I’m looking at you, you make everyone else disappear?”
“I...I don’t know.’ Hyrule blushes all the way down to his neck and scratches it bashfully. He takes a minute to compose himself before grinning and tossing you a shy side eye. “You’re too sweet, you know that?”
“Believe me, you’re the sweet one. You’re giving me a toothache over here!”
Hyrule shoves you away then and clamps his hands over his face but from what he doesn’t cover, you can see the wide grin from behind his hands.
Mission accomplished.
Legend
“You take that back Fancy Pants!” Legend shouted. “Or I’ll toss right into the heart of Death Mountain!”
“You couldn’t.” Warrior rolled his eyes. “Not without your oh- so- powerful bracelets and rings and hoard of items.”
“If I could change the alphabet, I’d put F and U together!”
Warrior snorted and walked away. “Just admit that you lost and leave it at that. There’s no need to embarrass yourself further.”
“You-!”
You sighed and walked up to where Legend was left fuming. “Great come back.”
“Shut up!”
“I wouldn’t take what he says to heart.” You shrug and smile at him. “I think he just gets a kick out of your reactions.”
“That brainless, boorish-”
“You want to know something?” You cut him off before he could go on a cursing spree for the next hour.
“Sure.” He spits. “Hit me with it. What do I care.”
“If I could change of the alphabet, I’d put U and I together.” You grin widely and wait for his reaction.
But you don’t get one.
Instead he stares at you unamused with his arms crossed and face flat. “Ok, I think I get what he means now.”
“What?” You raise and eyebrow and scoff. “Is that not good enough for you? Ok. How about this one then? You have so many items. Any chance that you have an extra heart? Mine’s been stolen!”
You complete the sentence with throwing yourself onto his side, hand on your forehead and looking up at him with the most blissful expression you can manage.
He snorts a little, forgetting his previous sour attitude and shoves you off.
“That’s low hanging fruit.”
“Geeze tough crowd.” You brush yourself off and grin at him. “Despite that, I have to say, even though we’re not socks, I think we’d make a great pair!”
“You’re impossible.” He smiles a little easier and begins to walk away.
Well, he might have missed your point but at least he was feeling better.
Four
You sigh and run your hand through your hair. It’s wet and sticking to your face as you get out of the lake.
Four is there on the other side and you find yourself grinning.
Despite the way everything seems to be sticking to you, you jog to where he is and stop in front of him. “Here I am! What are your other two wishes?”
He snorts and glances in your direction. He stills suddenly and no so subtlety looks you up and down.
“Like what you see?”
“It’s a good thing I brought my library card.” He says in response.
“You have your what now?”
“Because I am totally checking you out.”
You blink and laugh. Because yes, you are soaking wet and all your clothes are sticking to your figure.
“Huh.” You roll your eyes and sit next to him in the sun to dry off faster. “This spot open?”
“Go right on ahead.”
“I think I have something wrong with my eyes.” You grin.
“Wait, really?” He spin in his spot to look into them as if that’ll make or break the problem. “What’s the problem?”
“I just can’t seem to take them off of you.”
Four goes red immediately and shoves you away with one hand on his face and other on yours. “Ok, you win.”
Warrior
“So aside from being sexy, what do you do for a living?” You slide up to where Warrior was sitting and lean on his shoulder, waiting for his reaction to your line.
He turns his head to look at you and you show him your cheesiest smile and he rolls his eyes.
“Wow...I’ve never heard that one before.” He snorts, letting it slide.
It clicks then that, that could have gone really bad considering it’s Warrior and he’s probably dealt with all kinds of harassments. But you count your lucky stars that he appears to be humoring you and isn’t offended at least.
“Alright, tough guy, what’s your best one?” You challenge and sit next to him.
“Really?”
“Yes. Prove me wrong. Go on. Do it.”
Warrior looks down at the ground for a second and looks back at you with that trade marked smirk, you associate him with. “Are you sure you can fire one back though? I’m sure you’re tired.”
“Why on earth would I be tired? It’s the middle of the day.”
“You were running through my mind all night. So, you must be tired. ” He says casually and looks away.
The blush is instantaneous on your face and you have to cough and look away from his stupid-charming face. That one... has a lot of implications..... depending on the audience..
A moment of silence passes and he laughs a little quietly under his breath. “That’s it? That’s all it took?”
“No.” You squeak and look at him head on.
Your blush still hasn’t gone away.
“I just...”
Warrior continues smirking. He’s enjoying this. “Cat got your tongue?”
You huff and look at the supplies in front of you. “It’s hardly my fault.”
“Sure it is.”
“You’re so beautiful that you made me forget my pick up line.”
Warrior stills and coughs in a similar manner that you did only seconds ago.
Now you’re both blushing messes.
Wind
“Hey Wind!” You call and run up to his side. “I just figured something out!”
“What is it?” Wind stops mid step and waits for you to reach his side.
You’re a little out of breath from running the distance but you grin wildly at him. “If you were a vegetable, you’d be a cute-cumber.”
He snorts and shoves you away slightly, continuing to walk along the trail behind the others. You can hear some of the older ones chuckles but you’re determined.
“I think out of everyone, you’re the cute one here, actually.” Wind smiles in your direction and it throws you off of your rhythm for a moment.
Enough so that you actually trip and fall on the trail, pain shooting from your knee.
“Woah, hey, are you ok?” Wind jogs back to you and helps you up.
You hiss and look at the damage. As far as scrapes go, it’s not that bad, but you are bleeding a little.
“Do you have a bandage?” You blink up at Wind. “I just scraped my knee falling for you.”
He blinked a bit, stunned and confused before a lightbulb seems to go in his head and he blushes brightly. He chuckles and places a hand be the back of his neck. Wind then gets down to his knees next to you and brushes the dirt from your knee. He’s very cute when he’s bashful, you think.
“Let me see what I have in my pack.” He says with a bright grin.
It’s not like the others are watching this all go down or anything....
They don’t say anything though, less they ruin the tenderness of budding crushes.

Quick designs I did for Epona and Stormcloud! :3 For those of you who are curious, Epona is, of course, Link’s horse while Stormcloud is Zelda’s horse. It struck me as a bit of a surprise that Zelda doesn’t have an official horse so I figured it was free real-estate for headcanon owo At any rate, some quick tidbits about both!
-The Epona you see here is the exact same Epona from every instance in the timeline: it’s uncommon in animals, but Epona’s loyalty to Link was so strong that not even death could stop her from following him anywhere, hence her repeatedly reincarnating with every cycle.
-I designed Epona with the Loftwing in mind because, in my headcanon, her original form was Link’s Crimson Loftwing, and when the birds went extinct she managed to shift herself into a horse  instead. There is very small evidence of her avian past life: tufted ears, “feathered” cheeks, a wing-like marking on her back, and the blue dash of color around the eyes that was so prominent in the Loftwing.
-Aside from her undying loyalty, Epona is very intelligent and stubborn. She refuses to let anyone but Link ride her, gaining her a reputation of a misbehaved wild mustang. It’s only after she finally finds her boy that she settles into a more calm demeanor, but even then she isn’t above giving Link a bit of sass. Epona is extremely confident and brave and unafraid to jump into the fray.
-Stormcloud (nicknamed “Cloudy”) is Zelda’s beloved stallion and her best animal companion. In contrast to Epona, Cloudy is far more laid back and amiable, a personality that bellies the fact that he’s the fastest horse the royal stables have to offer. One command and he’s off like a flash of lightning, although he rarely ever runs full speed unless Zelda asks him sweetly.
Zelda finds great comfort in Stormcloud, especially when she was a child and had little in the way of friends at the time. He in turn is very protective and affectionate toward the princess, always looking for kisses and nuzzles and hugs.
