My Sensitive Skin's Encounter with The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner: A Rollercoaster Ride
As someone with skin that throws tantrums at the slightest provocation, I’m always wary of new products, especially those containing powerful ingredients like AHAs. But the allure of smoother, brighter skin often wins, and so I embarked on a cautious journey with The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner. Ingredients: First Impressions: The usual The Ordinary story – simple packaging,…

also while I’m on it I would LOVE to get the hype for niacinamide, like I know it’s a holy grail ingredient for a lot of people but it fucks me up every time I’m like “oh maybe This product will be different” it is not. And there’s a chance it could be an issue with concentration or other products interacting but like??? Considering how reliably I’ll react to it, I doubt it.

Find Out Why Skin Hydration is So Important
We hear about skin hydration all the time. Every beauty blogger gushes about hydrating products, and even products you wouldn’t guess, like Glycolic Acid Toner, are infused with hydrating ingredients. So, what’s the deal? We know hydration is important, but why is it so important? Read on to find out why and which skincare products can help you hydrate your skin regularly and efficiently.
Tumblr media
Why is Skin Hydration Essential? Your skin is your largest organ, and it helps shield your body and other organs from environmental damage. Your skin is great at this, but that’s all because of lipids. Lipids are what keep the moisture in your skin and help create the barrier your body needs. When your skin dehydrates, it can make existing skin conditions flare up and even make you more susceptible to inflammation. And, of course, your skin can become dull and flakey without enough hydration. How Properly Hydrated Skin Can Benefit Your Complexion There are so many benefits to having hydrated skin. Firstly, you can say goodbye to a dull complexion and even help reduce the risk of acne breakouts and other skin irritations. Hydrated skin minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, so keeping your skin hydrated by drinking water, using a good moisturizer, and a Face Spray can help you look younger. 3 Products to Keep Your Skin Moisturized Your homework assignment is to maximize your skin’s hydration and see the benefits for yourself. So, start drinking more water STAT and check out some of these ultra-hydrating products to add to your skincare regimen. Hydrating Night Cream Your nightly skincare routine is one of the most important for skin hydration because you can’t drink water while you rest. So, before bed, you’ll want to apply a Hydrating Night Cream to help supplement that overnight hydration so you can wake up to a glowing complexion. Hydrating botanicals like seaweed are a killer ingredient to look for in your night cream. Facial Spray Facial Spray is one of those hydrating essentials that can make all the difference. Look for a facial spray packed with hydrating botanicals that nourish your skin. These hydrating sprays are perfect for those busy days when you’re on the go. You can fit them right in your bag and get a moisture boost at any time of the day. A Collagen Face Mask Face masks are a great way to revitalize your skin and get a nourishing moisture boost. A Hydrating Collagen Mask is perfect for hydrating your complexion and supporting your skin’s natural collagen production. Just add this facial mask to your weekly skincare regimen and watch your skin light up. About Mario Badescu With so many skincare trends to keep track of, it can feel a little overwhelming. summertime beauty routines⋆.ೃ࿔*:・👙
Tumblr media
since we are now in the hotter seasons of the year i wanna share some routines, tips and regimens to stay fresh all summer 🍹
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMER SKINCARE AND HAIRCARE ;
during the warmer months i transition from a thicker moisturizer to a moisturizer with a gel formula, otherwise the pores of the skin would get clogged. the gel moisturizer would feel rly light on ur skin whereas the thicker moisturizer would just feel too heavy.
when u go swimming whether thats at the beach or the pool, leave in products are the way to GO. bring a leave in conditioner to apply onto your hair after a swim to make sure that ur hair is protected from the salt/chlorine and the sun.
SUMMER SCENT RECOMMENDATIONS ;
when looking for summer scents i gravitate towards more fruity scents for daytime events. and for evening or night events i gravitate towards muskier, more shimmery scents. a fragrance that i recommend for the summer is sol de janeiro rio radiance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some body products that i recommend for the summer are the watermelon and coconut scented tree hut scrubs. the maui hair products. cabana girl body wash from philosophy. the bum bum body scrub.
STAYING FRESH ;
keep ur body hair trimmed or dont keep it at all bcuz hair traps odor and in order to stay fresh during the summertime, where we r always sweating. hair control/elimination = odor control/elimination.
use glycolic acid on ur armpits at night and use it on ur body in the day time. glycolic acid helps with strawberry legs too, not only odor. essentially its like a toner but for ur body skin. it goes before lotion.
last but not least dont forget to stay hydrated and apply ur SPF and smile

Hot Girls in Summer Know…
Tumblr media
The difference between sleeping in and wasting a whole day. Get up and enjoy the day.
Water proof gold jewelry is the move.
A fake tan before you go tanning is optimal for getting a glow.
A clean room and open window is how the day should start and end.
To wear a swimsuit with thicker straps while tanning for clear tan lines (they are cute fight me)
Summer is the best time to declutter.
The joy in fresh flowers and farmers markets.
Minimal makeup >>> cakey makeup
Outside exercise is so much fun (+tanning+good weather+healthy girl)
Pedicure always done and manicure short and neat.
Braids with bows and bandannas>>>
Everything showers after tanning is pure bliss
Making bracelets and necklaces with friends while you watch bad romcoms
Eating way too much fruit.
Ice water with lemon
Wear a cap while you tan to prevent sunburn on the part of your hair.
To put glycolic acid on your arm pits to help with darkness.
Spray toners for after workouts and time in the heat.
Sunscreen always and everywhere.
Hot girl walks everyday.
Cute summer dates hit best with your friends and not guys.

Bleach Headcanons: Skincare
Who’s the skincare expert and who uses just soap and water?
Tumblr media
Jushiro Ukitake:
He doesn’t believe in flashy skincare, thinking it needs to be convenient, gentle and affordable. Think of brands like Cerave, Cetaphil, and La Roche Posay. He’ll probably have a trusted cleanser he’s been using for years (centuries?), a reliable serum, maybe retinoid based (gotta use something anti-aging at this stage) and a good, hydrating moisturizer (illness makes his skin dry and he hates looking that way).
Byakuya Kuchiki:
Can and will only buy the best of the best. A skincare snob. Even if there’s an amazing drugstore brand, he refuses to use it. SK II, Tatcha, and La Mer are all you’ll find in his bathroom cabinet. Of course he follows the 7 step Korean skincare routine. Cleanse twice, toner, essence, serum, moisturizer eye cream. Adds a sunscreen if he plans on going out. He will not compromise his routine for anything, so be prepared to wait for him as he goes through this process everyday, twice.
Renji Abarai:
He’ll pretend like he doesn’t do any skincare but he has his little stash of items he uses for self-indulgence. He enjoys wearing face masks (thanks to Rukia), which he applies after using a cleanser that’s trending, like from Tula or Drunk Elephant. The man somehow has balanced skin so he’ll use an everyday moisturizer like the Clinique Moisture Surge.
Kensei Muguruma:
He uses his body wash as face wash, and whatever body moisturizer he has on hand he uses on his face too. What’s the point after all? It’s skin. As long as it’s clean and not cracking, there isn’t a problem.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi:
He creates his own skincare but it’s kind of questionable. He claims his skin can tolerate quite a lot, so his skincare always has heavy amounts of acids in it; glycolic acid, salicylic acid, ascorbic acid. Top this off with a heavy dosage retinol. Does it work? We may never know from all the makeup he uses on his face. At least he removes all of it before sleeping (?).
Kisuke Urahara:
He also makes his own concoctions, but in a much less dramatic way than Mayuri. Grows his own ingredients, like oranges for vitamin C, mint for salicylic acid, and carrots for retinol. Think of his products like a  clean, organic skincare line that he wouldn’t sell to anyone unless he’s happy with it himself. He rarely buys commercially available products but the one thing he will spend his money on is sheet masks, they’re convenient and he honestly finds them tedious to make on his own.
Shinji Hirako:
He may not show it, but this man is very self conscious about his appearance. He has a mix of both popular and indie skin care brands. Think Belif, Youth to the People and Drunk Elephant. He probably regularly cleanses and uses a moisturizer, maybe something with vitamin C in it, since he can’t have people seeing the dark circles under his eyes.
Ichigo Kurosaki:
Essence? Toner? Serums? Isn’t a cleanser just soap? Give him some bar soap and a CeraVe moisturizer. He doesn’t have time to figure this shit out. There’s people that need to be saved and stuff.
Rose Otoribashi:
Yes, he knows the difference between a toner and an essence. He also thinks essences are a gimmick. Give him a balancing cleanser for his oily skin, and a toner with some salicylic acid in it to further help the oil. Add a vitamin C serum and a lightweight moisturizer and he’s ready to rock.

the ultimate guide to glowy, clear skin
so your skin looks great with and without makeup for your summer glow up 🫶🏽
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
things you should never skip:
- double cleansing at night
- SPF 50 during the day
- spraying a mist before applying hydrating ingredients
- getting 6-8 hours of sleep every night
- washing your hands before touching your face
- washing your pillowcases, hair wraps, and bedding once a week
- using paper towel to dry your face
the main way to have glowy skin? maintaining the skin barrier.
Find everyday products with the following ingredients:
- prebiotics + probiotics
I always use the Axis-Y Biome Radiating Essence
- fatty acids, cholesterols, and ceramides
I always use the Stratia Lipid Gold Serum/Lotion and Aestura Cream
- hydrators: Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Betaine, Panthenol
I always use the Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid lotion and Mediheal NMF Ampoule Mask
- anti-inflammatories, antibacterials and antifungals: Propolis, Heartleaf, Centella Asiatica, Cica
I always use the Cosrx Propolis Ampoule and Abib Heartleaf Essence
the other part of having glowy skin? minimal texture, radiance, and clear pores.
These are things you’d use 1-2x a week:
- a surface exfoliator: Lactic Acid (darker-skin friendly; is also hydrating), Glycolic Acid
I always use the Paula’s Choice Lactic/Mandelic Acid exfoliator
- a deep exfoliator: Salicylic Acid, EX-07 enzyme, PHAs
I always use the numbuzin no.4 Pore Zero toner pad
- Vitamin A derivatives/alternatives: retinol, tretinoin, bakuchiol, resveratrol
I always use the 23 Years Old Bakuchiol A cream
You can use your surface and deep exfoliators together, but never mix an exfoliator with Vitamin A!
The biggest help to your skin being healthy and clear? Your diet.
EAT YOUR SKINCARE INGREDIENTS (not literally)
What’s going on inside your body reflects directly on your skin - from constipation, to period cycle stage, to lactose intolerance, and more.
The essentials:
• Collagen and Vitamin A
- BB LAB Collagen powder (also has hyaluronic acid and vitamin C)
- Grass-fed Gelatin Gummies
- Country Farms Super Reds
- Leafy Greens, Carrots, Pumpkin, Cantaloupe, Mango
• Prebiotics and Probiotics
- Country Farm Super Greens
- Seed Daily Synbiotic
- Kombucha
- Kefir
- Yogurt
• good ole H20 :)
- at least 64 ounces (8 cups) a day
Wanna keep your skincare routine simple? You’ll only need 5 things.
1. Oil Cleanser (PM only)
2. Gel/Milky Cleanser
3. an all-in-one toner (hydrates, nourishes, calms)
4. a great moisturizer (preferably with fatty acids and ceramides!)
5. SPF
Just make sure your diet, exercise routine, and sleep routine are the best they can be! 💘
