Wanna do some small research of what characters favorite ice cream flavor?

I somehow think Gun is Vanilla or green tea flavor type of guy. Surprisingly.

Then Goo is Chocolate or some weird combination flavor type of ice cream.

Saaaaam, I've been putting this off because I don't wanna research ice cream. But I will give you this Gun + Goo crack fic. Which also lets you know their ice cream preference.

More silly shenanigans

"What's that?" Goo asks, face inches from Gun's hand.

It is very clearly ice cream. Scooped round and placed in a little cardboard cup. There was even a mini spoon to boot. Nothing adventurous about it. Gun doesn't bother to respond, choosing to ignore him altogether.

They walk along for a few more paces, a few precious moments of peace before it is broken by the most obnoxious whine.

"Where's mine?" the blonde sulks and Gun's fist twitches. It would be so easy to reach out and smack his face.

Gun had asked. He had very specifically asked if Goo wanted anything, out of some misplaced goodwill, and he replied that ice cream hurts his teeth.

Technically he didn't explicity say no, but was that supposed to be some riddle Gun had to decipher? Some childish little game? Well he wants no part of it.

Goo doesn't let up, bizarrely invested and halting them both.

"What flavour is it? Is it vanilla?"

Inching closer, as if it was something worthy of inspection, "It looks like vanilla."

Nose now almost touching and taking a deep inhale, "Smells like vanilla."

"Maybe tastes like vanilla?" Goo darts forward to take a chomp just as Gun whips it out of reach and shoves his head aside.

"Let me have some!"

Gun looks at Goo, lip curling. Absolutely no fucking way. "Get your own."

"Please?"

"No."

"Hmph. Fine."

Gun keeps an eye on him, in case he tries anything. After a few more moments, his partner's attention seemingly elsewhere, he takes his first bite.

There it is.

"Fuck you." Goo deadpans.

Gun, distracted, with a spoonful halfway to his mouth gives Goo the opportunity he is looking for.

The tub, cupped casually in his palm and grip slack, is slapped with overwhelming force.

It flies through the air, content spilling, and lands with a splat over 20ft away.

As the final insult to injury, Gun doesn't taste the remaining spoonful. The violent smack offsetting the intended trajectory, ice cream sliding off and falling onto his shirt instead.

Then, melting quickly, it drips down onto his shoe.

"I don't even like ice cream!" Goo cackles after watching everything unfold. As if this has all led to the funniest punchline ever.

Gun glances down at his spoon. That would probably hurt if it was jammed into an orifice somewhere. He's usually prefers bare knuckles, but this would do. It feels right.

Readjusting his grip and now holding it like a weapon, "I'm going to kill you."

✟ I personally headcanon that you both live at a place where it would rain often, and so you and your lovely neighbourly ladies would dance with your husbands/ wives in the rain and often sing songs with them too, while making someone will make food and treats for everyone.

✟ You also near a lake btw! You and Dion often play fight and constantly end up swimming away from each-other in the lake, while your cats look at you both with slight concern, until they see you laughing then they join you!

✟ Moving to your cats, you have a grey cat with green eyes, one white with grey eyes and one black with maroonish almost red eyes, whom you think looks a lot like Dion. The grey cat is named moon, the white one Vanilla and the black one is named bamboo, curtsy of your darling husband....

✟ He surprisingly makes good food and his drinks, shakes or anything like that are god-tier, they're absolutely amazing. You'd often find him in the kitchen super early in the morning making you both breakfast, while your three cats are sitting lapping at the pieces of meat he put for them in tiny ceramic dishes he made himself with the help of one of your old neighbours. He's very proud of them.

✟ But you also find him crying his eyes out as well, every since he left the manor, he's been showing more of his emotions than he ever has, and now you actually know what he feels, he is absolutely crushed at the thought of his mother dead, but he always uses one of the cats as his napkin wiping his nose and eyes on their fur while they squeal out for you, their darling mother.

✟ He also smiles a lot, and it's not his blood-thirsty smile he sued to have in front of his toys, but a heart-warming smile and a genuine smile, you wouldn't be able to see if you both were still at the manor. He misses his mother as she would though be kinda mean, Maria loved him in private, when she would often whisper that she finds him the prettiest.

✟ Oh, yeah! You ended up finding Sierra, Maria, Jeremy, Roxanne and her husband, Cassiss. You both were dancing one morning, when you got a knock on your door, thinking it was one of your neighbours asking for something they ran out of, you opened the door just to find everyone smiling with tears in their eyes, as they ran to hug you while Maria immediately ran to Dion to grab him down in a hug while she kissed his forehead, where once Dion realised what happened started crying and sniffling while hiding in his mother's jacket.

✟ As you had a reunion, Sierra explained how she tracked you down and how she helped Jeremy and Maria escape with her to your cabin you showed to her in case she ever got too overwhelmed and wants to escape everything. They explained who everyone was dead, including Lant, Charlotte, Grizelda and Fonataine and many other family members and servants.

✟ Cassiss's family had taken Roxanne as their daughter\sister-in-law and they both were to get married soon and wanted to invite you and Dion to their wedding. As you Maria, Sierra and Cassis were having a conversation while petting your cats, Dion, Roxanne and Jeremy were bickering about somethings and how Jeremy was dating one of your and Dion's trusted friends who used to be both of your servant.

✟ In the end it turned a bit better than you both expected, especially when he Roxanne and Jeremy formed a connection of siblings and Sierra and Maria moved along with Jeremy and his fiancee moved next door to you and Roxanne moved though a bit far from your house, still closer to you both.

i have a perfume, body mist and deodorant here and i think these all capture that cinnamon girl aura! sol de janeiros 71 is like fall in a bottle! our weather hasn’t changed for the better so i’d recommend this for when it’s cooler outside (it is a fall scent after all) native’s oat milk latte deodorant has clove, chocolate and a splash of milk perfectly cozy, warm and sweet. finally, chai epice really lives up to her name. le gourmand says it best, “this fragrance will make you want to grab the perfect chai latte, a soft blanket, and spend a cozy night in” and the reviews also hail to its sweet and spicy scent :3

S Tier: Sucheon and Dark, aka eyebags that comes with an complementary side of emotional damage

A Tier: An jumble of characters. However, honorable mention is the two twins, Jaehyuk and Boyoung. Those two are one of my favorite side characters despite how little I mention them. Boyoung's personality has always been so lovely to me. She's sassy, smart as a whip, but also has an good heart. She's a perfect balance between 'tough girl' and 'shy, quiet feminine' type of female characters. And Jaehyuk is just funny to me. He's like an more vanilla version of Sucheon and I love him for it. I wish he had more screentime god.

B Tier: I know Jiwoo being in B tier is slightly controversial but this is my land and it's a lawless land and in here we enjoy side characters more than the main ones.

C Tier: Yea. They're just people I don't really care for

D Tier: I have fostered an hate-love relationship with Duke. But as of now, restraining order. He's a little shit with mildly positive connotation.

So I live in the state that drinks the most coffee per capita and invented every funky coffee trend you can think of 10 years before Portland stole it. If you go to Starbucks in this state it is because you are either new or a sucker for branding.

I don't drink coffee.

But there are about a million coffee shops I can choose from and they've all got their own gimick. I can order a London Fog just about anywhere and I will get one. The quality of these London Fogs and coffee in general is wildly variable.

A London Fog is 2 Earl Gray tea bags, hot water, steamed milk, and honey or vanilla, sometime both.

I have found coffee shops that get the real good shit tea, And local honey and make at beverage that tastes like it should be a lot more expensive than it is.

That is not what happened yesterday.

I have been a barista, I generally try to be polite, but this time I was so confused by the cup that was handed to me that I was inadvertently rude. I feel a little bad, because my 1st reaction on being handed whatever that was was to ask "what is this?"

I didn't get an answer. I had to go and I had already paid so I figured whatever, I'll just drink it. I'm not allergic to anything, it won't kill me.

It's important to know that the density of coffee shops is such that there is another coffee shop across the parking lot. I got a London Fog at that coffee shop and it was one of the God Tier, tea imported from Sri Lanka, Wildflower honey from friendly bees, Milk from happy cows, Perfect brew in a personalized cup, kind of London Fogs.

So I might be a little unfair in my critique of the one I got from this coffee shop.

YESSSSSSSSS February was a GREAT month for music

Bad by So!Yoon! an all English track that is some great, soulful indie rock that I feel like really plays with and bends genre conventions. Kinda... maybe Tame Impala-y? I'm so bad at describing and comparing music, lmao.

Vanilla by Shikao Suga. More conventional rock sound but very funky and high energy. The album on the whole is really strong. Not like... redefining any genres or anything but honestly if you like So!Yoon! it's worth trying out this album

Nasty Dancer by Flo Milli. Greeeaaat throwback instrumentals (exploring 80s sounds that HAVEN'T been done to death recently) while her flow remains as pussy shattering as per usual. My one complaint is it's too short!

Big Man, Little Dignity off of Paramore's album (which is a NO SKIP ALBUM). It's a song that feels like an indie movie that changes your life. It's cinematic. Overwhelming. It seeps into your skin and out with your breath. I love it.

As You Feel by De De Mouse and Wami. God, just some good as hell future funk. Syrupy sweet, belongs on a high energy, girl centric anime OP, but also on the dance floor.

Bruises by Kelela. Hard choosing a track off her album but this one is just.. hypnotic. A haunting dance track that rattles within you.

Killer by Key. A kpop track so good it actually made me buy official. This type of throwback sound runs SUCH a high risk of being tired but he made it so refreshing with his god tier vocals and danceable chorus.

ALMOST FORGOT:

Pearls by Jessie Ware. Flawless vocals. Enrapturing beat. No one, I repeat, NO ONE is doing it like her right now.

How to Ruin Everything by Bayside & Ice Nine Kills (sometimes you need a song that just goes hard with guitar that thrums with your blood).

Utsukushii Ikimono by Masaki Suda (a song that feels like the wind).

I want very badly to bake something sweet. I love baked goods so much, but I rarely bake because it takes a lot of planning to have the ingredients on hand, and then also I have to find time to do it. Usually it involves a stand mixer. I have a nice one (a Kitchenaid) but it lives in the basement and is heavy to bring upstairs and because I so rarely use it I have to wash the bowl and attachments first. My grandmother's stand mixer had a permanent place on her counter, and I will get there one day, but not in this house.

Anyway, I think of myself as someone who fails at baking more often than succeeds. That's another reason I don't bake often, because it's so disappointing to spend so much time and effort on something that doesn't turn out or is (even worse) mediocre.

But, in all fairness to me, there do seem to be times when I'm very, very good at making sweets, and usually that's when I come into a bounty of fresh local fruit and I have a crowd to bake for. The year we moved from Montgomery to Omaha (so five summers ago), we took my big kid to pick peaches and blueberries, and I made blueberry muffins, Edna Lewis's peach cobbler (best I have EVER tasted, and I've had a lot of peach cobbler), blueberry bars, and blueberry compote to eat with sliced pork loin. Two springs ago, I was in Pensacola for spring break, and we bought a flat of local strawberries. I made at least two strawberry icebox pies, strawberry muffins, and strawberry shortcake. I made a blueberry cobbler for my family when they were visiting last summer that everyone (including me! and I'm a tough critic of my own food) loved. I am desperate for a simple lemon loaf cake recipe that is easy to make, moist, and delicious. I would similarly love to once in my life make good lemon bars. If those bars also had another fruit like raspberry or blueberry I would die and go to (secular) heaven. Lately, I have been craving banana pudding, the icebox kind. Similarly, simple vanilla pound cake or iced chocolate sheet cake made by somebody's grandmother are also god-tier foods.

Other sweet things I love that I have no interest in making are fruit tarts, almond croissants, pastries of all kinds really, homemade-style cakes with real buttercream frosting (get outta here with grocery store cakes; yuck!), coffee cakes, and donuts. Sweet rolls that use yeast. Oh I would love, love, love some fresh orange rolls.

Eventually I'm going to have to learn how to use yeast without completely freaking out about it, or else I might never taste a delicious sticky sweet orange roll again.

All this ruminating is brought to you by a desperate craving I have for something sweet but no clue what to bake, plus little desire to put in the effort and time.

What I'm Watching: November 2023

The Fall of the House of Usher

Sycrhjodxfhbaudiffebuvehtxt I'm obsessed with this show. So far, this is the first and only Mike Flanagan adaptation where I was familiar with the source material already, and it was a fucking BLAST playing Spot The Reference. Additionally, the conclusion of the rave scene has been burned into my memory ever since and I cannot for the life of me get it out of my head, in the best and worst way possible. Sooooooo good, but oh my fucking god. And it's been a long time coming, but this series has elevated Carla Gugino for me to Rachel Weiss meme status. You know the one I'm talking about. I just.... THIS SHOW IS SO FUCKING GOOD. The writing, the story, the performances, the cinematography, the scares, the all of it. It's split down the middle between stuff you can point and go "ha! I knew it!" and stuff you just can't see coming, and it's all top tier. I typically need a cool down period to recover after most Flanagan stuff, but I'm just itching to get back to this one as soon as possible. Is a good amount of that just me thirsting over Verna? Well, yeah. It's pretty much Gugino's show, and everyone else merely appears in it. Actually, that's not fair. Everyone involved not only fucking went for it, they fucking nailed it. This is Mike's last run with Netflix, and by god, the whole team went out with a bang.

Cowboy Bebop (2021)

Let me start by saying that my post mentioning how much I wanna bang Spike went as viral as things tend to go on this blog, so I'm glad that resonated with some folks. 😂 I'll admit, I have a lot less nostalgia for the anime as a lot of the audience for this, having only seen it twice, but as far as adaptations go, this was perfectly okay. As someone pointed out already on one of my posts, it's a lot less existential than the OG, and therefore a lot less heavy. And since all I wanted out of this was a good time, I was happy with it. I was EXTREMELY happy with the opening credits in particular. My stance on adaptations in general is that if a piece can stand on its own merit, I don't care how closely it adheres to the source material, and in my opinion, the live action succeeds. In fact, my one and only complaint is...not enough Ein!

The books stay in my reading rotation, so despite my philosophy on adaptations, I had very high expectations going into this several years late, don't worry about it. And...I was not disappointed. I ended up crying over almost every episode, and that never happens, so... 😅 It's so sweet and I was charmed from the get-go. I've still got a season left, and since it seems to be doing its own thing apart from the books now, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm also dreading it, because I'm not ready for it to be over. Then again, that's how it feels finishing the books as well, so that's only how it should be.

Five Nights At Freddy's

Lemme tell you, I've known jack shit about FNAF aside from "evil Chuck E. Cheese" for years now. I've had the tags filtered for almost as long as I've been on Tumblr (I love the people I follow, but I gotta curate my experience). I've made it my mission to go as long as I can without knowing anything at all about this franchise if for no reason other than it's fucking e v e r y w h e r e and I was sick of the overexposure. But now because a relative of an acquaintance of a family friend was one of the cannon fodder characters, I got roped into watching this and my streak is broken. I can't unknow what I know about this franchise. Which I'm extra annoyed about, considering what the creator of the games tends to put his royalties towards. 😑 From a film standpoint, it's fine. I'm not sure what age range the target demographic is, but having the horror stuff happen off screen made it feel more vanilla than the average episode of Supernatural, and I'll let that speak for itself. The look and atmosphere were exactly what I'd imagine if told to picture an evil Chuck E. Cheese, the animatronics are appropriately creepy (though let's be honest, it doesn't take much to make ANY animatronic creepy), and I was a little surprised and impressed with the soundtrack. And it was nice to see Josh Hutcherson in something new, though it's still so odd seeing him as an adult. I'm most familiar with him as a kid in RV, and holy fuck, I feel old looking at him now. I could have used a little more Matthew Lillard--why would you get Matty Lilly in your movie and then NOT do something with him?!--but given the character/story/what have you, I get it. One plot point in particular didn't stick the landing, as far as I'm concerned. In an effort to tie up all loose ends, it made things too contrived in a "that's convenient but now it makes less sense" kind of way. Don't know if that's how it goes in the game, and I don't care enough to find out. All in all, I've seen worse, I still don't get the hype, and I'm still not the target audience. And that's perfectly okay.

Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet Of Curiosities

A horror anthology? With GDT?? Sign me up yesterday! I don't think there was a single episode I didn't like. And I wasn't prepared to recognize so many names in the credits. Actors, directors, composers, authors, you name it. And it was fun! The stories were bizarre, assorted creature designs were gnarly, and whatever else was going on with the vibes episode to episode, they all felt consistently creepy and sinister. "The Autopsy" has the distinction of being one of the few things I've watched that almost made me puke. "Pickman's Model" was the first thing to freak me out bad enough I stayed awake to get it out of my head in a Very Long Time. "The Viewing" was the only ending that felt unfinished, it was so abrupt, but the style and aesthetic was so *chef kiss* I'll overlook it. (Side note: that episode's director also did Mandy, which I've been meaning to get to for awhile now? Hoo hoo, have I got some visuals to look forward to!) I knew as soon as I saw Jennifer Kent did an entry that hers was going to be my favorite, and that's not even coming from a biased place. "The Murmuring" is beautiful and heartbreaking. Easily my favorite aspect of the series is how you get a sense of each individual director's style BUT the entries themselves are so flavored with GDT, the whole thing stays cohesive. Now all I can do is hope for another season. :D

Either all, I’ve got a sixth sense and as lovely as the relationship would make me feel, it wouldn’t be a long lasting one because I know gods plan is Lester. The connection is very very much the same that I had with Jack and 4 years later.
