Starting good eating habits
Being a parent is not easy. You want to give your baby the best of whatever is available. It’s all about getting real with your baby, feeding them ‘real’ food etc. You are probably eager to break out those latest baby feeding accessories which you bought. But time for a reality check, the baby does not enjoy such real food, no matter how good baby feeding accessories you use.
No matter how much tasty solid food you want to feed the, your precious little baby girl would like to stick to liquids, most preferably milk.
We understand that you only care about and want to look after the overall growth of your baby. But there is a time for everything and just one month after their birth is certainly not it. In fact, experts have stated that as long as the food being fed is old, traditional and whole, aka, being consumed for generations and also made to eat without a fuss, there is more chance of the baby enjoying it, with or without the baby feeding accessories.
You know what’s the best way to develop healthy eating habits in your toddler? By following these simple rules-
Wait until she is old enough. Keep on experimenting with warm, delightful, nourishing and always available breastmilk until she is eager and ready enough for some solid food.
Break the solid food into small enough pieces with your fingers. Also, keep the baby close to yourself or put them in a  baby chair along with a baby bib. This will make dinner/lunch time more enjoyable for the baby.
Puree the food as much as you can. This will make it easier for the baby to consume the food.
Also, before introducing some new food, wait for a few weeks. Keep a record of the food she likes or dislikes.
As the baby keeps on growing, make eating time even more fun. Relate healthy food to certain fun things or relate them to cartoon characters which they seem to like.
It is important to let kids have their choice of food, instead of constantly forcing healthy food down the throat. This will give the kids enough agency rather them giving them a chance to act out. You can try out their choice once a week.
All these tips are about encouraging healthy eating habits amongst your babies along with looking after their health. This is not to say that you cannot use baby feeding accessories to make the whole thing more fun.
