I tried googling this but I can't find an answer.
Does anyone know if I can post a short film I made on the internet and still win/submit to win awards?

I think Google changed, because using - and other tools used to work, and they just don't anymore
so I'm not crazy!! and ok I looked into this and I think I figured out why it didn't work for me because when you google this (I know) it still says to use the - to exclude things from your search results.
But depending what the thing is you have to format it differently. If it's just a word you want to exclude you can use the -word, making sure to put a space before the -.
But if its a website domain you have to format it like so:
-site:examplesite.com
Tumblr media
I tested this just now in an image search of batfam and was able to exclude reddit and pinterest both. but using -site:reddit.com and -site:pinterest.com
hope this helps us all!

I keep finding myself in the strange position of telling my children, "Back in MY day, when you searched something on the internet, you simply got the thing you searched for"

My parents ask me about random things very often and I used to be confused about why they did it. Especially in subjects they know way better than me.
I asked them whether they tried to google first and 70% of the time the answer would be yes. But if you already looked it up, how do you still not know???
Then I saw how my mom googles things... Hooo boy, my brain almost broke watching it.
It was either by typing a whole ass sentence like "How do you make the cells in excel stand on top of each other and then chance one to blablabla...." or by writing a few very unspecific keywords that gave a million results like "Excel cell top"
Googling is truly a skill.
