my most controversial gravity falls take is that it shouldve been mabel helping pacifica with the ghosts in her mansion instead of dipper. i redrew some scenes in hopes people will see the vision :) (EDIT: if you're interested to see why i have this opinion, i wrote down my reasoning/full analysis over here! i'd also check the notes if you do chose to read that, a bunch of other people have made some FANTASTIC points!!!)

Now with the return of gravity falls’ fandom, ships are starting to get more popular.

Yippee!

And obviously fiddauthor and the legacy that is billford are coming back, but dipcifica and mabcifica are coming back!

Personally, I like both. But there is an interesting point I’d like to bring up.

Ever since I’ve been thinking more about x, like, the actual characters and story arcs of the show, and I feel like NMM, introducing dipper and Pacifica as an obvious ship, was the PERFECT resolution to his whole “Wendy” arc. The climax was definitely in into the bunker, with that iconic moment. And then 8 episodes later, they give us dipcifica.

And I think it’s very likely that Alex had this in mind creating the show, but if he did,

WHY DOES ROADSIDE ATTRACTION EXIST????

Seriously, this episode is about Dipper trying to crush on someone new to get over Wendy, WHEN THE PERFECT THING IS TO JUST MAKE DIPCIFICA CANON. That would’ve been a way better arc resolution than Roadside Attraction.

And also the episode just throws in Candy having a crush on him for NO REASON!!??

Seriously what was Alex cooking when he planned this episode, or maybe it wasn’t him, just SOMEONE did it, and they were NOT COOKING AT ALL.

A critique of Northwest Mansion Mystery – how Pacifica nearly upended the show’s narrative

Note: This essay has been in the works some months before the Book of Bill release. But my opinion hasn't changed much, and highlights concerns from other GF fans.

This might be a little controversial. Don’t get me wrong, for first of all, I’m a dipcifica shipper and I like the episode very much. But every time when people ask around in the fandom (particularly on Reddit) what’s the best episode, Northwest Mansion Mystery would certainly be among the top choices. Reasons would, of course, include the darker tone and visuals, the mystery, the backstory, lore and, above all, the hints of a romance that kicked off the fandom’s most popular ship. It certainly scored very well in terms of the mystery and dark elements that are key to its popularity.

NMM certainly also fleshed out Pacifica a lot more, giving depth to what was initially a rather one-dimensional antagonist. In this episode, we are offered a glimpse of her family’s dark history and her struggle against their expectations. All of that humanized Pacifica, turning her from the stereotypical “mean girl” into a more sympathetic figure. This transformation was one of the episode’s strongest points.

But, unfortunately, as a Gravity Falls episode, it isn’t really the greatest. Truthfully I think the episode also had set false expectations of what was to come, and is rather reflective of the pro-dipcifica reddit side of the fandom and what they wanted more of the show, despite it going against some of Hirsch’s expectations and intentions.

Let me explain.

In my opinion, sometimes the fandom tends to forget what is actually core to the show. Yes, the mystery element is certainly one thing. But there’s another which doesn’t get talked about as often – the sibling bond in the show. What’s sorely lacking in this episode, and what many really overlooked, is the lack of any sibling moments between Dipper and Mabel. Ok, we still have the beginning when Mabel nudged and urged Dipper to negotiate with Pacifica three invites for the party, but after that, the twins went their separate ways.

I understand of course that Pacifica specifically requested for Dipper’s help, and Mabel might not be as attuned to the supernatural. But of all possible things the writers could have done with Mabel and co, they sidelined her to another romance subplot. Really? They could have perhaps made better use of her and her friends at the gala (some fans I've spoken to even suggested she could have joined with Wendy to uncover the ghost backstory). I can get the girls wanting to have fun, but I think it's a bit boring to fall back to some crush rivalry subplot. Especially after what happened in Sock Opera and her trying to move on from failed crushes in Society of the Blind Eye.

It’s actually a chronic issue not rather unique to this episode, I would add. In much of the first half of S2, while Dipper takes the lead in solving the mystery of the mysterious Author, Mabel takes more of the backseat and becomes goofier. This is quite a change from S1, when in episodes like Headhunters and Irrational Treasure, both twins worked together as the Mystery Twins and Mabel still considerably contributed in both cases. Into the Bunker is what I identify as the turning point where Mabel’s character and role regressed to being that goofy sister that messes things up (mostly by accident – I must add) instead of being the supplementary role to Dipper’s mystery-hunting. And that quite led to much of the fandom overlooking what actually was core to the entire series, and also fuelling a bit of the Mabel hate in the fandom. By pushing Pacifica into the spotlight and hinting at a potential romance with Dipper, the episode diverted the fandom's attention from this central theme.

The show quite elevated Pacifica’s character and her importance, to the extent that some in the fandom believed she would play more of a part in the show afterwards. This is rather implied from a few moringmark comics showing her moving in with the Pines. Understandably, this builds from the Bill tapestry at the end of that episode. However, she was never planned to be important to begin with, and she ended up playing very little part in the WMG episodes. It was largely only due to her popularity in S1 that she was given a character arc over two additional episodes. As Hirsch has discussed in past commentaries, he never even planned to develop her in the first place, since she was mainly a foil to Mabel, like how Gideon was to Dipper, but did so for the fan service.

Sometimes I feel like he cares about what fandom thinks too much. But as we've seen in other interviews, he thinks of himself as a fellow fan in the service of the fandom and not just the fandom god. Nevertheless, It’s great that Hirsch never detracted away from his vision of the show. After this episode, he returned the narrative to its original focus on the core mystery and the sibling bond between Dipper and Mabel, while drawing some parallels with the Stans twins.

This certainly left some fans feeling disappointed, as the character development and relationships they got invested in were not given the resolution or continuation they had hoped for. In many ways, this episode highlighted a conflict between fan service and narrative integrity. I would agree it’s certainly a missed opportunity to give a bigger part for Pacifica after the episode, but we already had a much shorter runway to Weirdmageddon. The remainder of the show barely juggled featuring Ford more, and so there was already no way to feature more of Pacifica or even build a romance the fandom so desired. The only nod to that tapestry in the show in the end is Preston attempting to make a deal with Bill, which, of course we know how that ended up.

In conclusion, while Northwest Mansion Mystery is undoubtedly a fan-favorite episode, it kind of stuck out as a sore thumb given it nearly disrupted the show’s delicate balance between mystery, sibling bond, and character development. This shift, though temporary, had some impact on the fandom’s expectations and the perceptions of the show’s later episodes. Nevertheless, Hirsch compensated this by featuring Pacifica more in some supplementary material in Lost Legends and as of late, The Book of Bill, to satisfy the fans.

Ultimately, Gravity Falls remained true to its core themes, but Northwest Mansion Mystery stands as a testament to the challenges of maintaining narrative cohesion while exploring new character arcs and storylines.

I shipped dipcifica when they were still so rare! like before season 2 and felt kinda cringe for it.. then it got popular after nmm which made me so happy!! and now a majority of the portrayals I've seen are JUST like you said and it made me realise why I didn't like those at ALL!! they are both so so queer and I'm excited to see how you do with them!!

At midday, the sun’s rays can be more oppressive than they can relaxing. A spring breeze would be welcome, but failing the tumult of refreshing wind- shelter is instead taken beneath a generous tree canopy near the fields. Raguna props his tools against the trunk, a surrender of a slump as he comes to rest. A short break was welcome after the morning.

It would seem that Hildr agreed. She joins him in due time. A familiar (and more welcome than a wind) sly smile as she laments over some difficulty over the painting she was working on. Raguna apologizes that he wasn’t there to watch her, a sentiment the princess quickly dismisses. She is, instead, welcome to have him as a conversational partner now as the two exchange quips and comments, all the while growing closer.

When had she turned her weight from the tree to rest against him? Or sat down for that matter? So lulled in by her voice and conversation, to Raguna perhaps that didn’t matter. Even if it certainly did. So nice. So close. His arm is taken captive by hers, the words no longer delivered to his face but to his chest as the two relax further. Ironic then, that it’s while the farmer is rambling about his list of tasks that he misses the transition to the next situation.

Soft breathing is all the reply granted to a question about what Hildr had decided to wear for the day. A compliment well paid but not received. Raguna blinks, and the smile that follows on realization pairs with the slackening of posture as he adjusts himself for her benefit. And, well, his too. Letting the lovely lady nestle in closer as she subconsciously desired as whatever dream continued to take her.

“Darn. Well I guess we both needed a break more than we realized, didn’t we?” He whispers, mostly to himself. The sigh is fleeting, more whimsical than it was disappointed. “I was going to give you some compliments about how nice you looked today. I guess that can wait though. Nmm…” Rhythmic breathing continues, a lull to the laborer that brings a weight to his own eyes as his head tilts by a different gravity. A gentle rest of it against Hildr’s own.

“Later… it can wait till… yaaawn… later.”

What Hollow Minds Revealed about Belos

Okay Wow , like Wow the last time an episode of a kids cartoon scared me this much... well okay it was when I first watched gravity falls “Northwest Mansion Mystery.... Hollow Minds may have been worse in than that. Everything Scary in NMM was so far steeped in “Cartoon” that you have to laugh at just how absurd the whole trama inducing situation was. A 100 year old ghost comes back for revenge over not getting a party invite? Stuffed animals coming to life and giving you a death message? People turning into tree’s? None of it could ever happen in real life. As people have pointed out though while Belos’s “magic spells” are fake, the way he lies, cons, plots, abuses, pretends to care for everybody but secretly cares for no one... its all realistic to the way Puritan Witch Hunters treated people back in Salem time. Its all realistic to how Dictators and tyrants treat people now.

Lets talk about Belos Pretending to care for a second. It is seeded throughout the show that while he is he main villain, he won’t be the Final Boss, His plans aren’t all his, and while he cannot talk to the Titan, he is talking to some powerful being who the crew will have to deal with one he gives out (more on the Collector later). His ability to swing from “Kindly Grandpa” to “Merciless Dictator’ is really unsettling. Hunter clearly suffers from pressure and PTSD, but their will be times where Belos acts really loving and fond of Hunter. the only time we see him strike at Hunter, he 1 misses and 2 acts like striking at him was an accident. When his VA tweeted about Belos being “misunderstood” I started to consider the possibility that his “curse” was also a metaphor for a condiion like involuntary muscle movements or schizophrenia, and because he is a puritan he refuses to take the potions to fix it. Also in Coven day Parade when he told the coven members that he struggles with Insecurities over his face but that their love for him gave him confidence , then took his mask off and showed them his face. You have to wonder if he does have any real fondness for these people. You know by now he wants to get rid of magic, but does he believe doing so will help these people, does he want to take them to the human realm with him to live “cleaner” “more worthy lives” as mundanes? And there is the whole lost brother, and grimwalker clone thing that suggested how lonely he is.

Does he truly love Hunter? His people? His brother? We get the answers in this episode. No. No. Yes, but also no. I had a lot of trouble making out any of the paintings in the deeper levels of Belo’s subconscious, and didn’t at first notice the ones of Caleb (I am going to assume that is his Brothers real name.). But I looked through the posts some other fans made, and I think we have enough to already piece together two’s backstory. Spoilers under the cut.

Okay so Caleb is the older Brother. He and Hunter look near identical (there ears and scars are the only diffrence). Caleb took care of Phillip a lot and the two were very close. Kid Phillip’s mask and sword are toys Caleb made for him. Growing up they both hated witches and witchcraft. Maybe in childhood their family’s crops did bad one year, or someone they loved got sick, and the church told them it was the “evil workings of a witch”. Regardless they went to the trials/burning’s for fun. They would play that they were witch hunters as kids and it was the profession they went into as adults. It was also likely their mission when they came to the demon realm. I cannot tell if both Phillip and Caleb experimented on themselves with gliphs and other forms of magic. I think Phillip might have been the only one to absorb palismans. If Caleb did anything to himself he made it through the... changes much more smoothly than Phillip. Caleb loved and tried to take care of cursed Phillip

Caleb originally hated witches, and was right there with Phillip on tricking, hunting, and getting rid of them. Heck he may have been the one who taught Phillip to... but then he went through a change in character. He started spending time with a wild witch whom I am guessing was A.) a Clawthorne, and B.) most definitely someone he was originally trying to catch. She foiled his plans and it became a chase, battle, dance thing. Caleb started seeing magic, the isles, and witch craft in a different light, and eventually love happened between him and Miss Clawthorne. Caleb tried to talk to Phillip about it, explain his new relationship,and how they were wrong. Phillip did not react well and was not accepting of his brothers 180 change. When Miss Clawthorne got pregnant Caleb left Phillip for good (or from his point of view until Phillip could accept his new family) and went with her. This opens up the idea that the reason Belos treated Lilith and Eda so badly, took such joy in hunting Eda, breaking Lilith, and forcing the two to fight wasn’t just because Lilith broke his nose in deadwardian times. He likely associates them with the witches who took Caleb away from him (Caleb’s own wife and child) and was taking revenge on them for it.

In the past he took revenge on Caleb. Caleb did not die from a curse; Phillip killed him. And it wasn’t an accident. It wasn’t some talk that went wrong.It wasn’t a confused gliph combo resulting in a deadly explosion. Caleb didn’t accidental fall on to a titan’s vein after Phillip shoved him in an argument, leading to Phillip braking down in regret. Phillip went after his brother, and ambushed him and his wife. He started a fire, he pulled a knife on him. Caleb still tried to reason with him and get him to stop, but to no use. Miss Clawthorne tried to save her husband but couldn’t and had to leave his body behind and flee to protect their unborn child. Phillip kept his brother’s skeleton to make into clones (Caleb’s wife could not even bury her husband).

It seems like Grimwalkers aren’t necissarly made to be key sacrifices or instruments in Belos plans. Rather he makes them out of a desire to recreate the bond he and Caleb had when they first came to the isles. Hunter is like the 17th GrimWalker Belos has made. The other 16 all looked slightly different from Hunter, and their original ages may have been older than his. Important the other 16 were not failed protospells that stopped working or disappeared at some point because Belos had not yet perfected whatever he had to do to create them. Every single one of them eventually becomes fascinated by wild magic or comes to care about the isle residents and decided they want to stop what they and Belos are doing, just like Caleb did. Belos then kills them too. He has killed so many the collector even jokes about it being a game to him. Belos assures the collector “It hurts every time he chooses to betray me”. Note he is speaking in present tense, not past tense. This is something he has come to accept will happen each time, and he will always kill them and start over. He tried to keep Hunter shut up in the castle and away from wild magic books to delay the inevitable, maybe because Hunter is the closest looking to Caleb yet. But he knew and accepted that it would come to this. He took Luz and Hunter to all those rooms because he was collecting junk for the traps. The last room he takes them to is the golden guard grave yard where he has constructed monuments not to each guards life, but to when he killed them. Belos makes the grimwalkers for companionship, but once they challenge him he ends them and forgets anything else they ever did for him. He tried to have Hunter devoured by the mindscape with no hesitation. He told Luz with no remorse “I’ll just make another one”. Hunter was a favorite toy, but still a disposable toy.

Alright let me steady my hand, an lets move on to Belos and the Collector. So the collector is the entity Belos communicates with I guessed that back in Elsewhere and else when. Back then what surprised me was that Belos had apparently acted on his own a really long time before meeting the collector. Good-bye theory that Belos was just an innocent and curious child whom some dark being corrupted. Now what surprises me is that Belos knows he is talking with the Collector and not the Titan. I really thought he genuinely believed he was carrying out the will of this realms version of God or if not him than atleast a remorseful angel. Belos is one talented lair and I both hate him and now relate to all the witches he fooled. Belos is only misunderstood by the coven members. He knows exactly what he is doing and he has NO good side.

 I also think I put together What the collector gets out of helping Belos... Belos is putting all of the Isles residents into a collection for him. The 9 covens, 9 categories. The seals, stamps of ownership. Wild witches who refuse the seals are petrified and brought into the collection as large paperweights. At the center of this all we have the 9 most talented witches, a grimwalker creation, and a human from a time long past, the prized jewels of the collection. But wait? According to this episode Belos doesn’t just want to drain the citizens of the isles of their “evil magic”, he wants to kill them all. Why would the collector let Belos get rid of his collection. Becasue the Collector is, physically speaking, a young child who is board with his current toys. He will allow Belos to get rid of them if he can replace them with new, more fun, toys. I think this is where the portal comes in. Belos may not want to invade the human realm, but the collector does. His one human is old and not likely to last much longer, so he will need another one, better yet what if he makes an entire collection of human toys.

Will Belos not be the most dangerous villain of this story? Will he die before it ends, making the Collector the final boss Luz and Co will need to defeat to stop the Day of Unity? I have long since theorized, and I still do. Will Belos be killed by the Collector once he has outlived his usefulness? Possibly. Belos may even know this is a probable end to him. If so I doubt he cares, He lives to hunt and eliminate witches. As long the witches all go Belos would probably allow the Collector to kill him, with at most a last request to have his body taken back to the human realm to be buried.

ok. northwest mansion mystery is a great episode obviously. but HERES why i think the episode would've been even better if mabel was in dippers spot!!!!!! its kinda a lot so i put it under a read more

so this episode is sort of the middle-ish of season 2 i think, right before the ford reveal!! its not a super long show anyway so theres not a ton of pacifica appearances, anyway. BUT in EVERY SINGLE OTHER PACIFICA EPISODE, her energy has been bouncing off of mabel!!! from their meeting in double dipper, to irrational treasure, to golf war; they have been established as the main dynamic here. golf war is especially important here, because this is the very first step in pacfica's redemption arc! mabel saves her in this episode, the pines give her a ride home, and it seems like pacifica is going to start being a little more understanding of mabel because she had misjudged her, hence why she was treating her so poorly. it looks like theyre gonna establish a friendship between them!

and then. they dont. they basically never interact again. because the next time we see pacifica, she goes straight to dipper in northwest manor mystery. the cold open implies that the northwests wanted dipper specifically because of his knowlege of how to deal with the supernatural but IN MY OPINION that DOESNT EVEN MAKE SENSE because we NEVER see dipper fighting these monsters on his own? hes ALWAYS with mabel. at the very least, i think it shouldve been BOTH of them??? we see a brief shot of a newspaper clipping where dipper is fighting a vampire bat or something and i just. when did this happen. where is mabel

that would be a fine argument for it being both of them instead of just mabel so heres one of my bigger points thats gonna come back a lot in this breakdown: dipper. does not like pacifica. he STRAIGHT UP HATES HER. every single interaction theyve had has been negative!!! its even massively negative at the beginning of this ep!!!! though mabel often dislikes pacifica, she TRIES REALLY HARD TO LIKE HER. mabel has a lot of love in her heart, and if she could, shed want to be her friend!!! its always been pacifica whos been rejecting those advances!!! golf war was the start of pacifica understanding that about mabel, and it nmm wouldve been the PERFECT time to wrap up that arc, rather than leaving it!!!

and i would argue that could STILL LEAD INTO A DIPCIFICA ARC, if thats what the showrunners/fans wanted? most of why dipper hates pacifica to begin with is because shes so terrible to mabel. he only agrees to go to the party in canon because MABEL wants to!!! imo, i think the lead in to them being a couple would be a million times better if that massive problem in their relationship was solved first

i dont PERSONALLY like dipcifica but im trying to stay unbiased about this if you cant tell

i would also argue that like. dipper just seems really out of character. the reason i picked some of the scenes i did for my redraws, was because they were scenes that i think his behavior would fit mabel a lot better. examples:

why do the northwests have a suit in dippers size anyway. he literally doesnt even like wearing it sjkfhkj in a potential re-write of this ep, i considered that mabel would come in wearing her super extravagent home made dress, and it would 'violate dress code', so she would be forced to wear one of pacificas we could still have that cute dress-up expo scene that we do AND have some fun commentary/symbolism about pacifica being nervous about having her in the dress because its NICE and TOO GOOD FOR HER and she looked FINE BEFORE ANYWAY

mabels empathy is a recurring theme in the show. shed WANT to give pacifica the benefit of the doubt, and would be VERY betrayed when finding out her and her family already knew about the ghosts and knew what he wanted. i understand that dipper was so upset because it seemed like pacifica was changing for the better just to find out that she wasnt, but i think this fits so much better with mabel, because shes always WANTED to believe that shes secretly a good person. she would be glad to see her turn a corner, and would be upset when finding out she was 'wrong', and that she really was mean deep down. whcih would obviously lead to her comforting her later/finding out the truth about her etc etc. on the other hand, dipper literally never believed she had good in her. from the first interaction we see of them, he thinks shes as terrible as her family. he ISNT as interested in giving her the benefit of the doubt and if it wasnt a life or death situation i dont think he wouldve forgiven her. IDK i just think its more in character for her

the dancing scene!!! honestly this works fine as is (i can see both dipper and mabel being excited to make a mess on a fancy carptet) but idk i just think it carries so much more weight if its these two girls. silly moments for mabel!!!! pacifica getting to really be a kid and not just a sparkly prop!!!!!!! pacifica finally indulging in her sillyness that she mocked in irrational treasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok moving on. one of the bigger things that bother me about it being dipper here instead of mabel is one teeny tiny (honestly really irrational) scene at the party. in it, dipper is confronted by fiddleford, who tells him he has big news about the author/the laptop and the towns in danger and its vitally important and dipper just. shrugs him off???!!?!?!?! i cannot even IMAGINE. in alex hirschs words "the first season is about dipper being in love with wendy, and the second is about him being in love with the author" meaning that. those are the TWO things that dipper is completely and totally obsessed with. hes clearly not over wendy (as we see in later episodes) and this is not long after sock opera/society of the blind eye so youd THINK hed be more depserate for answers than ever!??!?! this child was willing to sell out his great uncle and raise the dead and stay up for several nights in a row for answers, and the second he is offered some (from a man who WORKED WITH THE AUTHOR btw) hes like like 'whatevr'?!?!?! it is so out of character and it drives me fucking nuts every time. i know hes starting to like pacifica now but as we see in the comics (if you chose to think those are canon) HE DOESNT EVEN SEEM TO LIKE HER THAT MUCH!??!?! hes STILL convinced shes vain, and mean, and selfish!!!! he DOES start to have a little arc with her but jksdfjksf IDK i just cant in a million years see him passing up the chance for answers to the biggest mystery in gravity falls to hang out with a girl he tolerates

but yknow who i CAN see doing that? MABEL!!!!!!!! mabel would be concerned when mcgucket comes up to her, and starts talking like this!!!! i can totally see her suggesting that he relax for a little while and enjoy the party like dipper did, and then forgetting to come back to talk/not running into him later!!!! ESPECIALLY since i can see mabel WANTING to spend time with pacifica where dipper just. really doesnt seem to want to MOST of the time

ok ill admit that this last one is sort of a personal opinion. but i just. i really dont like the B plot of this episode with mabel and the girls. IDK its just so annoying and pointless to me to have a plot where its just a bunch of girls turning against each other over a guy. im not gonna say its mysoginistic bc i know little girls can be boy crazy but i just. dont see why there was a need to make them fight/turn against grenda briefly??? even when they rekindled and it was all ok in the end its just. in comparison to the A plot its so. Nothing.

in my head i have a rewrite of this episode and how it goes is that pacifica approaches dipper and asks for help and he turns it down (like he does in canon). mabel suggests that they do it anyway, but he refuses, as he wants nothing to do with her. when dippers gone, mabel agrees to help (and pacifica begrudgingly accepts bc it seems like the only option) and so she steals the journal when dippers not looking. she goes to the party, and events go pretty much the same?? only major difference i can think of is that the B plot is replaced by one where dipper realizes mabel and the journal are missing, so he sneaks into the manor/sneaks around the house trying to find he rand get it back (and its so massive he has no luck). the reason i think THAT works is because we can even still have the scene where dipper turns to wood like shifty prophesied!!!! and i would even argue it makes more sense this way because wasnt shiftys warning that "if you keep digging so deep into the secrets of gravity falls, this will be the last form youll ever take" ?

So I just started to rewatch Gravity Falls and I realized something. When the ghost (Northwest Mansion Mystery), tells Dipper of the story about the mansion, they show the graveyard a good distance away. I believe in Journal 3, Stanford writes that his house was built on top of the graveyard. The same one from NMM. Now here's my question. Were the zombies from Scaryoke the lumberjacks killed/died from when they were working on the mansion?

When did you get into Gravity Falls? It was around this April, long after the finale. I was bored and I knew Gravity Falls was popular, so I wanted (to quote a certain episode) to see what all the buzz was about! I watched it in 2 days and bought the journal the following Wednesday. (Fun fact, I actually tried a bit earlier, but got bored during the intro to episode one. No attention span there). What got you hooked on it? I believe I was super hooked on watching all of it when Stan went behind the vending machine in episode one. Like!!! STAN WHAT THE FUCK!! But when I really started to enjoy the plot was Dreamscapers! Do you write, make art, or create content for the fandom or just enjoy being a part of it but haven’t made anything yet? I’ve made a whole bunch of drawings for this show! I haven’t posted most of them, but I have a notebook literally FILLED with gravity falls drawings. All of the pages are fan art. Drawing for this show has been really fun tbh! Who’s your favorite character? Do you Do you even have to ask.

STANFORD FILBRICK PINES FOLKS!!

Funny story about favourite characters, originally my favourite was Bill Cipher, Ford being second. I went through the Ford tag and saw a bunch of hate posts (I went deep folks. I reached the end). I made him my favourite character out of pURE SPITE TO THOSE PEOPLE!! My love for him grew after that. I just... He’s my favourite fictional character as well. I relate to him quite a bit and I might reflect too much of myself on my Headcanons of him. I absolutely adore the way he talks and his interests. Journal 3 was a blessing. Most underrated character on the show?  IMO It’s Melody!! I hardly see her in any fan art or fanfiction, and she was so sweet to soos. I really want more content with her and soos (More than I want Carla content) What’s your favorite episode?  It’s a three way tie to Scary-oke, Dungeons Dungeons and More Dungeons, and The Last Mabelcorn. For scary-oke, I’ve always ADORED zombie plots, especially when theyre well written. The singing bit at the end really made me love this episode though. It makes me SO SO HAPPY to see them all singing together and Stan being honest about the journal and!!! UGH I always sing and dance along and I feel included and happy its nice. 

For DDAMD, That was the episode I really started loving Ford. He’s such a nerd!!! He was so happy to play his favourite game with dipper!!! And Stans outfit was amazing, flipping Probablitor was voiced by WEIRD AL. Overall Such a wholesome episode. It’s one of the only episodes where Stan and Ford’s problems with eachother seem... less real. Like a break from fighting. Poor, dysfunctional old men. 

Lastly, TLM was such a good angsty plot episode on Ford’s side, GOD I LOVED THE COLOURS AND THE FEAR WITH CIFORD!! Plus that ford sleeping shot was just adorable

What’s your least favorite episode?  I generally dislike Golf Wars and Northwest Manor Mystery. More Golf Wars. It was kinda boring plot wise, especially with such good episodes before it!! NMM was more because I knew Not What He Seems was after it and IM IMPATIENT! All episodes are really good imo What do you hope to see in the graphic novel? God, at this point I just want Ford to have a major part in the comic. After the colouring book where he has like 3 pages, I have low expectations when It comes to Ford content. It seems like Ford is Alex’s least favourite Pines story wise and I wish that wasn’t the case because we have so little ford merch and content. He was only in 9 episodes, and one is only in the beginning. If Ford has a significant role in the story then I Will be Content.

Favorite fan content? HIT ME WITH THAT LONG FIC CONTENT I WILL EAT THAT UP!! Especially if it’s mystery trio AU. God that AU IS THE BEST!! All 3 of my favourite characters interacting??? Bless.
