Roger Dean, 'Blue Demon', 1972
”Used in 1974 by the band Gravy Train for their album 'Staircase to the day'. I painted this because I loved the colours of the background it was that simple. An interesting band I always thought that they should have done better. Strangely enough the most copied part of the album cover was the logo that I made for “Staircase to the Day” with the steps floating up into the sky.”

I think Ireland had a chance to present an extremely strong unified statement in response to the US & Israeli genocide of the Palestinians.
To have all major parties boycott the White House this year on St. Patrick's day; a clear line would be drawn that Ireland would not tolerate genocide and will not allow normality and polite diplomatic relations to continue whilst the US proceeds to ignore and lie whilst thousands more Palestinians are killed.
Instead those close to power yet again succumbed to its influence and cared more about looking like they can play the game than making clear we will not be "friends" with genocidaires.
I think this should be a signal to all people that these parties cannot be trusted to deliver the substantial change needed either at home or on the global stage as even with the genocide ongoing and yet another hospital attacked, you will see more fury in their reactions to people criticising them for this trip than towards the Imperial entity directing this wholesale slaughter and openly lying to their faces.
I also think this makes clear that when the new government takes power, people should be prepared to fight even harder for their demands as I we have been given a clear preview of the arrogant dismissal that will be dished out to organisations and activist groups by a party utterly focussed on its own self interests.
This is a low point in what has been months of unflinching solidarity from Ireland for the Palestinian people.
I am actually just obsessed with this clip of Sir Yung Gravy
Like he is so respectful, the entire time. He is SO honest about his life and how he feels. He calls his mom and it is the sweetest interaction on the planet. God bless this man
