My version of Leto, one of the minor titanesses. (Also one of my favourite titanesses)

She's one of the daughters of Koios/Coeus and Phoebe, sister of Asteria and mother of the twins Apollo and Artemis.

She's associated with motherhood, so my version of Leto is loving and supportive of her two children and loves them both equally.

Though she isn't too expressive, her actions speak louder than her words. Apollo and Artemis visit her a lot to check up on her, see if she's doing well, as Leto does the same for her children.

Hc: in the Riordanverse, neither divine twin is older. Bc of the fluidity and contradiction of myths (that the books acknowledge), both Artemis and Apollo fully remember being born first and think the other is just teasing them. Neither have ever considered for a moment that their sibling might be telling the truth

Most other gods have worked this out but the twins’ pettiest on-going drama is very funny. Everyone’s stoking the flames. Leto diplomatically claims she doesn’t remember

I present to you my headcanon:

Leto being bisexual for Zeus AND Hera.

In my head Leto joined the side of the gods against Cronus out of SIMPathy for Zeus and Hera.

After leaving, she would form a closer bond with Hera, becoming close friends (still having a small crush on her and Zeus).

Although this would end in a bad way after Leto's affair with Zeus and she became pregnant with the twins.

Idk I was just thinking that Hera and Leto song is Good Luck Babe of Chapell Roan and this came out. Apollo had to get the bisexual disaster from somewhere and I refuse to let it come from Zeus.

I desperately crave Apollo depictions that give him mouse or wolflike features. Why?

Well, Apollo was actually sometimes referred to as Apollo Smintheus which means mouse-god(although in the words of Edith Hamilton's Gods and Heroes - whether this was because he protected mice or killed them no one really knows).

As for the wolf bit, one of Apollo's other names is Lycegenes meaning wolf-born or born-from-Lycia and in the Illiad, Apollo is given the epithet "the Lycian" which means the wolf-god or related-to-Lycia. Additionally, Lycia itself is often called wolf-land; it's said(in some versions of his birth) that Apollo's mother, Leto, was led there by wolves - and it's far from her only association with them. In other variations of the twins' delivery, Leto turns into a she-wolf and goes into labor in this form. However, it's important to note that not all of Apollo's connections with wolves are pleasant ones. He is also known as Lycoctonus(slayer/killer of wolves) due to his nature as a protector of flocks!

All this to say, I think that Apollo's association with mice and wolves are just really cool aspects of his character that are hardly ever talked about :D

I have this fic idea that came to me at midnight but what about a modern setting where Apollo and Artemis are archery shop owners with an archery range to teach kids in the back. They rotate every week. One week you're greeted with a handsome twink with golden hair and the next you're greeted with the definition of "butch lesbian" just think about it. One week of literal sunshine "Hi! Welcome to Leto's Twins how can I help you today? If you're here for archery class Arty's in the back :]" One week of tired overworked "I cant deal with this anymore" "Hello. This is Leto's Twins. You've seen the sign. Archery class is in the back, taught by my little bitch brother." Just an entire fic of Artemis and Apollo being siblings and funny shenanigans Apollo: Arty I just found the most PERFECT guy Artemis: You said that about Commodus and he was the worst person to walk the earth. Apollo: He's different! I know it! Artemis: 'Pollo the only person so far I can think of that was a man and a good person was Hektor.
