Just finished watching Hellier, fantastic series. Very fascinating. New to this side of the paranormal! Found the numbers stuff incredibly interesting and did a little more surface research into thelemites and that blue sapphire spell after I finished season 2. The next morning I had the oddest skin abrasion that my cat bit/scratched on to my wrist? Not sure what to make of it. Could be a 93 but mostly looks like a 43 (for 43, if you do the funny number addition, it equals 7, which does happen to be my favorite number?). Is this what they call a synchronicity? Or is my cat just an artist? Anyone out there have any thoughts?

Hellier season two where the gang goes off to the mysterious wizard in the woods to gain knowledge and illumination in exchange for an offering but the mysterious wizard is just a grandpa in a Hawaiian shirt and the woods is a hotel room in a Best Western and the offering is a nice meal at an Indian restaurant

Watching Hellier for the billionth time.
Still love it, and reignited my love for the paranormal, UFO's, book collecting, (I bought at least 4 or 5 of the books I saw on the show because I didn't have them in my collection).
It's a totally different view, and I dig it.

My spouse is a hardboiled skeptic.
Former midtier-elite military, current high school economics teacher, lifelong agnostic atheist who acknowledges the probable existence of the unseen, but suffers, as do we all, from the post-juvenile self-defensive tittering judgment of anything inherently "other" or "weird" or "dumb." Absolutely cannot set aside - or unwilling to exert the effort required to actually set aside - said judgment long enough get past the outward dumbness of paranormal investigations in order to see what's actually being accomplished by the person in the blindfold and headphones. (Yes I am talking about you, Estes Method.)
Despite this, I managed to - through brute force and a completely deliberate ignoring of my extreme screaming discomfort - watch "The Unbinding" anyway. He wandered away and played Super Nintendo for a while, bored but nobly hiding his upturned nose for my sake and honestly isn't that all we can realistically expect of our spouses?
I'm gonna have to watch a second time because I was pretty distracted by having to do a very elaborate
"I'm not listening, I can't see you, lalalalalala all of this is fine, I am almost forty and i am not in any way a dumb stupid bad person with extremely bad taste in entertainment who will never be taken seriously, never amount to anything, and never have any friends because I am a dumb stupid bad person with dumb stupid bad taste in dumb stupid bad things, since obviously acceptance and belonging is contingent upon liking the correct things which I do not and never will which means I will be politely humored and tolerated for the rest of my life, what's with that i mean who even thinks that ell-oh-ell i am so comfortable with my decisions right now"
Busby Berkeley-style song and dance number around my trauma responses.
Nonetheless. My therapist will be proud of me when I tell her I've acheived this milestone, so I'm choosing to be proud of myself too.
Later, instead of continuing to ruminate and wallow and probably ruining what precious little remains of this weekend, I will instead make the awkward and unnecessary apology to my spouse aloud and - hopefully, with a little luck and some trust in the person I've cohabitated with for eleven years - permit myself the indulgence of communicating my discomfort for the sole purpose of allowing myself to be comforted.

From the makers of Hellier: The Unbinding.
Greg & Dana Newkirk are the real deal when it comes to paranormal stuff. I like them because they approach things with an open mind, and they readily admit most of it's crap. But that 2% that isn't crap? Creepy as hell. And they lean into that with humor and intelligence.

Nine people you'd like to know better
thanks, @celluloidbroomcloset!
Three ships
John Steed/Emma Peel
Crowley/Aziraphale
Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes
First ship
Maybe Faramir/Eowyn? or Taran/Eilonwy? Those were the first ship-ish relationships that I noticed when Baby Me entered fandom in the misty dawn of time when dinosaurs roamed the earth, but I'm also ace, so the whole shipping thing isn't quite the same for me as it is for a lot of other fans.
Last song
Mostly instrumental stuff that I listen to for work. I think the last song with words that I listened to on purpose was "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo. "Channel Z" by the B-52s. (forgot about that one)
Currently Reading
I'm between books right now, but I'm rooting around in Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House looking for blog fodder.
Last film
The Unbinding (paranormal documentary by Dana and Greg Newkirk)
Currently craving
A proper cup of tea. (I ran out of milk so I have to drink my tea black this morning and therefore I have sads.)
Any of my mutuals are welcome to respond to this!

FROM THE DESK OF ALLEN GREENFIELD The first edition of my SECRET CIPHER OF THE UFONAUTS was published by the legendary Illuminet Press. Ron Bonds, the mover & shaker at Illuminet, also bought a sequel volume, Secret Rituals of the Men in Black, but, because of pressure from the Frater Superior of the magical order I was then a member of, I bought the manuscript back from Ron. Then Ron Bonds, and several of his stable of authors died under mysterious circumstances. All were relatively young, and Illuminet Press ceased to exist. A decade went by and my disillusionment with hierarchical ‘magical’ organizations profoundly influenced the subsequent course of my life. I then sold SECRET RITUALS OF THE MEN IN BLACK to another publisher. Both books had a following, I was eventually approached by Olav Phillips, the publisher at Paranoia Press, about publishing a combined edition of both books. He offered generous terms, and I gave my permission. Then, Greg and Dana Newkirk and their outstanding crew interviewed me, THE COMPLETE SECRET CIPHER OF THE UFONAUTS took off in an unprecedented way, thanks to their considerable discussion (In Hellier Season 1 and Season 2) of the Secret Cipher. Thus began a prolonged process of documenting various threads that

Met Greg and Dana at their Haunted Objects live show tonight and I’m just blown away by how kind, well-spoken, and hilarious they both are. I even got a hug from Dana after sharing with them that their work with Hellier helped me return to my witchcraft practice. Truly good people and we are so lucky to have them in the paranormal space.
Also, huge shoutout to Keelin (@objectspod) who was so lovely and kind enough to chat with me and my friends about gross smells and terrible first jobs in the meet and greet line.
Basically, all these folks are great and if you haven’t watched Hellier, The Unbinding, and every episode of the Haunted Objects Podcast, I am judging you hard. Go watch them ASAP!!
