The Santa Clause but make it Starker

Some thoughts because I don't have the time or the will to make it a whole fic

Tony Stark has been Santa Claus for a year now and it has been the absolute best chapter in his life.

His relationship with his daughter is better than ever.

He's found the family he never truly had in the elves at the North Pole.

But it's all at risk after finding out about the Mrs. Clause.

Tony Stark is a happy bachelor, or so he tells himself and the elves. But as his round belly fades and his beard turns from white to gray he realizes he has no choice but to give it a try.

What he doesn't expect is to meet an angel of a man at a charity dinner.

He's beautiful like the first snow fall of winter. Like the refraction of light through icicles. Just looking at him is like that first sip of hot chocolate on a cold evening.

Peter Parker: nephew of May Parker the woman behind FEAST, a homeless shelter with a dire need this Christmas.

The dinner Peter hosts is beautiful, delicious, full of pure Christmas spirit and joy. Never has Tony seen a room full of such love and generosity. Yet, it's not a enough.

With a little of his remaining Christmas magic, Tony creates gifts for everyone at the shelter. Warm clothes, blankets, fuzzy socks. He even manages to talk a grumpy warehouse manager into giving half of the people there good jobs.

It feels wrong to tell Peter who's behind it all. It takes from the spirit of things, yet he needs Peter to like him. Time is running out. Already Tony's "ho ho ho" is less jolly.

So he takes him on a sleigh ride. He makes it snow. Peter's eyes glow like Christmas lights.

But Tony is out of time. He has to get back to the North Pole now. He's out of magic. He has not a Mr. nor Mrs. Clause. Peter seems to like him, but his attempts to explain to him that he's Santa Claus have all fallen flat and without him believing, it'll never work.

Then Morgan hears about Tony's troubles. She ropes everyones favorite elf, Bernard, into taking her to Peter. She pours her heart out about the gifts Tony made everyone and the magic he worked. Peter is moved, but he still thinks Tony is a little bit crazy.

Until Loki arrives, actual mystical being Loki who is clearly from another realm. He rolls his eyes as Bernard reminds him of how often people confuse him with Jack Frost.

Peter follows in a trance as they race to transport Tony to the North Pole to save everyone from the animatronic Santa he built to keep the place running.

While Tony saves the day, Peter wanders. He sees the snow, but is never cold. He talks to the reindeer. He drinks the best hot cocoa in ever invented. And he hears about Tony's kind heart and his love of Christmas. And finally he understands.

Tony is Santa, but Tony is also in love with him. And maybe, Peter is a little bit in love with him too.

Bernard wasn't totally sure the whole "Mr. Claus" thing would work, but as they kiss under the mistletoe, Tony's beard grows long and white and his belly turns round. When he laughs in relief it comes out a jolly "ho ho ho!"

And so Peter becomes Santa's Mr. Claus.

He becomes the nurturing figure the elves need. A gentle hand when the stresses of making a list and checking it twice are simply too much.

Their shared love and kindness reverberates through Christmas itself marking their years together as the greatest era in Santa's history.

Mobius realizes that this Christmas will be different from all the others he has experienced until now.

In all the memories Mobius had, he couldn't find any particular Christmas to recall. He couldn't remember his life before the TVA and all the Christmases he could remember were lonely ones.

There was no one at the TVA he was close enough to celebrate with, not even he and Ravonna had that kind of relationship.

But not this time.

This Christmas everything was different.

He had fallen asleep on the couch, but without opening his eyes, he knew that everything would be different.

He could hear the sounds of Loki and younger Loki starting to unpack the Christmas decorations, whispering so as not to wake him.

He didn't even know where his two Lokis had found these decorations, or even what they knew about Christmas traditions, but it didn't matter.

He wouldn't be alone.

He would watch his loves open their gifts.

The floor will be littered with crumpled paper and decorative bows.

There will be a smell of cinnamon hot chocolate wafting through the air.

Who knows? Loki may have discovered a new Christmas romcom to watch.

Younger Loki and Mobius would laugh at him.

Mobius couldn't help but smile as he thought about it.

"Mobius, maybe you should open your eyes at some point today. I know a young elf who is very eager to decorate the tree."

With his eyes closed and lost in thought, Mobius hadn't perceived that Loki had approached him.

He shivered when he heard this whisper in his ear.

"Dad! I heard you! You're even more impatient than I am! You even said that since you're the tallest, you're the one who's going to put the star up."

Mobius couldn't help but laugh as the two Loki's continued to bicker, while Croki looked on as he entered the room.

Yes, this Christmas was going to be different because Loki was there, because his Lokis would be there.

His family, at his side, he who had been alone for so long.

Loki who was learning too.

Not to be alone anymore.

"Hmm." Mobius blinked his eyes open, smiling lazily.

Loki leaned towards him and said softly, "Usually it's the prince who wakes the princess up with a kiss..."

He leaned over Mobius and kissed him gently.

"Daaaads... not agaiiin..."

Loki stood up, rolling his eyes, and Mobius sat up and couldn't hold back a laugh as he opened his eyes.

He didn't know where they had found him, but the Lokis had put a little Santa hat on Croki's head.

But Croki was Croki, independent and grumpy,  he shook his head and tore the hat off in less time than he had swallowed President Loki's hand.

They all burst out laughing as Croki walked back to his terrarium with a dignified air.

Mobius took in the scene with his eyes.

A warm feeling passed through his body and filled him with emotion.

Loki, perceptive, had noticed this and came to stand behind him, leaning on his shoulders, his chin resting on his grey hair.

He murmured softly, "Shall we decorate this tree?"

The young Loki exclaimed as he hopped over to the tree and the decorations, "Yes, but I want to put the star on top!"

Loki sighed, "Okay...I'll carry you."

The young boy suddenly had a mischievous expression that made him look even more like Loki.

"Why carry me... when I can make the star fly?"

He flashed a few green wisps from his hand to illustrate his point.

The two Loki's continued to tease each other under the tender gaze of Mobius who rose to join them and grabbed a pink, glittery ball.

"If you put up the star, then I'll put up the first ornament."

He walked over to the tree as the two Lokis looked on.

Yes, this Christmas and all the ones that would follow would be different.

You always wanted to see Asgard. Ever since the moody, sometimes a little grumpy, god of mischief walked into your life, and told the tales about halls of gold, you wanted to see Asgard. But not like this. Not when another world was on the edge of destruction.

“We have to go. And now.” Loki urged, looking first at Thor and then at you.

“We can't just leave them all here.” You sobbed, looking down at the fight going on beneath you.

“We have to. We can't safe this planet. But we can try to protect ours.” Loki said softly.

Shaking your head you looked at the brothers. Their faces full of defeat.

This wasn't what was supposed to happen. All you wanted was to protect this planet. Not destroy it.

“If we don't leave now, we will die.” Thor said urgently. Defeated you sighed, and nodded  as Thor called for Heimdall.

“Hold on tight to me.” Loki whispered, his arms pulling you against him.

“Will you be okay?” You asked, making him raise his eyebrow in question.

“Back in Asgard? After everything that had happened?”

You saw him inhale deeply.

“With Odin dead Thor is now king. So there's a good chance I won't have to spend the rest of my life in a prison cell.” He mused, looking at his brother who nodded barely noticeable before you were surrounded by a bright light.

Traveling through the Bifrost wasn't something you would ever get used to. It felt like you were sucked into outer space, which you kind of were, and then got pieced back together, all while you desperately held on to Loki.

It all ended before you could even blink and you found yourself, suddenly very tired in a tall golden Hall, where Thor was already talking to a tall men in golden armor.

You had only heard tales from him, the one who could look across the universe with his golden eyes.

“Princess.” He bowed a little, making you blush. Nobody ever had referred to you as a princess.

“Princess?” Thor turned around.

“Uhm...” You looked alarmed at Loki, then back at Heimdall who mouthed the word 'Sorry'.

“That's a story for another time, Brother.” Loki said. Thor continued to look confused at his brother before he sighed and nodded.

“It's late. We should rest. I am going to need your help in the morning with the council.” Thor said and both you and Loki nodded at him, before he turned around and jumped on his horse to ride away.

“When are we telling him that you're the lost Princess of Alfheim?” Loki asked quietly.

“Tomorrow.” You yawned, making him chuckle.

“She's not only the Princess anymore.” Heimdall said quietly.

“She's technically the queen.” He continued, making you gasp. Loki held on to you tightly.

“Your parents both died years ago. You didn't know who you were back then. But Alfheim... Alfheim needs a leader.”

It was true. You only found out recently that you were a light elf. Sure you looked different, but nobody really knew how light elves looked alike. It also helped that you were able to magically alter your appearance so no questions had been asked. Being raised by the dwarfs on Nidavellir you only learned about your true heritage when the King of the dark elves tried to murder you, revealing to you and everyone you called family, that he was the one who took you after your birth, loosing you on his escape.

Loki knew. Of course Loki knew. You had told him when he had revealed his darkest secrets to you, months after the two of you met for the first time on Midgard.

“We will talk about all that tomorrow. It was a long and disappointing day.” Loki said looking at Heimdall who nodded.

“If it's any help, you couldn't have saved them. The people of Gurtenheim never had a chance against Ronan.”

“Doesn't make it better, but thank you, Heimdall.” You thanked him. Loki nodded at him, and slowly walked you out of the hall where a carriage was waiting. He helped you in and you snuggled immediately against his side, his arms coming around you.

“The first time traveling the Bifrost can be quiet exhausting.” Loki whispered against your temple. Sleepily you nodded, burying your head deeper on his shoulder, until you felt him pull you against his chest.

“This is the third planet we lose since we left Midgard.” You sighed, your arms coming around his waist, as the carriage started moving.

“I know. And I feel like this is only the beginning.” He said exhausted, his fingers stroking your hair.

“We need to get to the bottom of what is happening out there.” You yawned again, closing your eyes.

“We will.” He promised.

“And you need to show me more of Asgard when I'm awake.” You smiled a little, enjoying being able to be so close to him without anyone watching.

You felt him chuckle, as he kissed your hair.

“Anything you want, my love.” He promised, just before you dozed of.

Fictober Day 26

Prompt: “How about you trust me for once?” Fandom: Wow (World of Warcraft) Rating: T Pairing: Night Elf Priestess/Blood Elf Hunter (Aulara/Kieran) (note this is prior to their relationship sometime early BC)

Aulara shook her head, sighing in annoyance. “Look, I know you don’t like me, but-”

“I never said that.” Kieran shot back, interrupting her. He went to say something else but instead changed the subject. “Rokar should be here soon, and then we can be on our way.”

She scowled at him, narrowing her eyes. “You’re not very good with people are you.”

He looked up at her from where he was sitting, repairing some damage to his quiver, and making sure that he had enough arrows for this quest. “I’m perfectly fine actually.”

“Oh, so I’m just that special?” She rolled her eyes before turning from him and looking out over the field. Nagrand was beautiful and she wished she could’ve been spending time enjoying the view with someone who seemed to actually want her to be around.

Kieran stood, watching her carefully. When they had first met months ago he wasn’t sure what to make of her. She seemed stubborn, quick to react, but ready to put herself into harms way to protect others no matter who. In the time they had worked together she had shown that she was someone he could trust, to rely on. And he wasn’t sure if he liked that.

It didn’t help that he had to admit that he thought she was beautiful.

“What?”

He blinked, unsure if he had been talking out loud.

“Why do you keep staring at me?” She turned to face him, crossing her arms and shifting her weight.

“I wasn’t.” He huffed in annoyance before glancing around for the rest of their party. “I was looking for Rokar, he’s late.”

She didn’t reply right away, and he could tell she wanted to say something.

“I’m serious, where is he?”

“Are you alright?” She finally asked.

He looked at her raising an eyebrow, “I’m fine, why?”

“You seem… off since I saw you last week.” She cocked her head to the side, looking him up and down. “Something's changed…”

“Nothing’s changed,” He scoffed.

She grinned at that, “You had a bad date last night?”

“What?” He stared at her.

“You’re acting like Koren when he got dumped by his girlfriend.” He swore she was grinning wider. “He was so annoyed but refused to say anything to me, just kept staring, waiting until I brought it up.”

“That’s not it at all. Maybe I just don’t want to be standing around with you in the middle of nowhere with a Night Elf I barely even know.” The smile vanished and he immediately regretted saying anything. “That’s not-”

“No, it’s fine. You’re right, we hardly know each other, I just wanted you to trust me for once, even if it’s just for a conversation, but instead, I’m prying where I shouldn’t.” She turned from him obviously annoyed. “I’m sorry, I'll stop bothering you.”

He grumbled in frustration. “I’m not used to people wanting to connect with me.”

She glanced back at him.

“I have three older brothers, they’re all smart and well regarded in the family. My mother had high hopes for all four of us to make names for ourselves and I… didn’t.” He shrugged. “I’m the outcast in our family, I chased after someone who my mother wanted us to forget about, I broke the tradition and became an adventurer and now it’s just me, and Loki and Theron.”

“Your leopard and wolf���” She looked down, “I’m sorry.”

He waved her off, “Don’t be. I chose this because I wanted to be something more than some noble that sat in Silvermoon sipping tea.”

“So you don’t regret it?”

“Sometimes I do, but, it’s what it is.” He huffed in annoyance.

“So you’re just grumpy that you have no friends.” She teased.

“No.” He narrowed his eyes at her. “I have friends.”

“Your pets don’t count.” She grinned leaning towards him. “What about me? Am I your friend?”

He was caught off guard by that, he’s known her only for a short time, initially, they butted heads, he found Rokar’s protectiveness of her strange. But as they spent more time together he had grown to like her, care about her. But she had been right, as much as he didn’t want to admit it, he wasn’t good with people. He always said something wrong, pissed someone off, was an annoyance, or just didn’t belong.

“Not exactly.” He finally replied. She looked at him, confusion clear on her face. He tried to muddle through what she was to him. A friend seemed too small a word. No matter how awkward he seemed she never left his side, had saved his life a few times already, and always sat with him in camp.

“There you are.” Rokar approached, the old orc grinned as he approached the pair. “The spirits had more to say than I expected. Are you ready?”

“Yes.” Aulara beamed, double-checking that her staff was strapped onto her back correctly.

The shaman strode past them, leading them towards their target for their mission. The night elf glanced back at Kieran, raising an eyebrow at him when he didn’t immediately follow.

He debated on what he wanted to say, the mood was changed with the addition of their mutual friend, but he didn’t want to leave it at that.

“Lara.” He called, catching up to her. He’d never called her by anything other than ‘Aulara’ since they had met, but it felt right. She waited for him. When he was by her side again he fumbled for what he wanted to say. “You… I…” He grumbled. He couldn’t figure out how to say it, wasn’t sure if he could put into words what he wanted to tell her. Instead, he leaned forward and kissed her quickly and rushed to catch up with Rokar, not wanting to see what her reaction would be.

She stood there watching him leave, surprised.

“oh.”

It’s unfair to hold his inability to identify her against him, she knows, like, logically, but Darcy still draws her lips downwards into a dramatic frown, her chin wrinkling -- in fact, the closest comparison of her absolutely disdainful expression could only be made towards the Grumpy Cat of past viral video internet fame.

“Wow. Wow. You can’t even, like, guess?” 

It does seem strange, now that she thinks about it, that the two have never met once. Jane’s met him, he almost was responsible for her almost-death, but somehow Fate had glanced at both her and Loki and decided nah, we’re good and kept them apart.

“Like I can buy Thor and Sif and the other three dudes just like slipping me from their minds, but that whole Dark Elf red spooky stuff incident... Jane never was like oh boy hope Darcy’s ok back on Earth...like not once?”

2) Crowley (Good Omens): Anxious nerdy mess 90% of the book, tries SO hard to be Cool Demon(tm) aw..Also Aziraphale, grumpy book angel, bc they also only come as a set.

3) Kara “Starbuck” Thrace (Battlestar Galactica): Complicated traumatised brash space fighter pilot queen

4) Akmazian (EOS10): Adorable dorky gay southern space pirat <3

5) Sam Vimes/ Tiffany Aching (Discworld): God so much cheating, I’M SORRY DISCWORLD IS SO IMPORTANT! Ahem and has so many awesome characters. Honorable mention: Granny Weatherwax, Angua von Uberwald, Cheery Littlebottom. Terry Pratchett was the best at writing diverse and complicated characters.
