I straight up forgot to put the name of this one lol. Meliodas doing dangerous antics is part of my Through the Wall sequel fic, called "Stakeout" which is the one where I have him cooking. I tried to mix in some humor with the angst here. It's basically Stigma Meliodas if Nakaba didn't nerf his intellegence. This one, I'll be feeding you guys soon!! Because I plan to try to finish Through the Wall this Thanksgiving Break, since I started it last thanksgiving break (ambitious I know, but imagine the poetism if I pull it off!) and Stakeout is farther along in its completion than that one. Stakeout is about Meliodas looking out for the TC and his brother from the opposite of the war. The first part is him deciding to try to get them dinner after seeing how worn-down they are, and the second . . . well, he can't exactly leave Zeldris to watch over both the Vampire and Demon Realms all by his lonesome, right? I'm actually really excited for you and @7-ratsinatrenchcoat to see this one in particular when it's finished because I tried to channel the melizabeth energy I liked in your work

This one is named such not cause I wanna name it something bulky (it has a better name! that's the exclusive lore lol) but I'm commited not to spoiling the plot twists in this one. This is gonna be my main gift to this fandom, a spiced up psychological horror rewrite of the whole show with original elizabeths and original adventures for the first and second season (that one is a backstory with Liz!) Plot point collaboration welcome. A bunch of season one, and the plot tiwsts, I made with my good friend zeldriszezinho, and I'm pretty antsy and excited to finally get around to it and present him with the result of our hard work, haha. I actually have a lot of senarios planned both in detail and loosely, just not written down. Ironically, think Rings was another one inspired by you - it's old, almost 8 months by now, and the only reason I haven't published it yet is the second ellie spiraled out of control into her own adventure and I haven't had the time because I've been word vomiting so many other projects into existence. it's half meme format, half usual writing. The second ellie's meme story is complete and the third's just needs its wrapping up of its actual plot, which is simple: an arrogant man thinks his bride is secretly a nutcase, but feels pressured into marrying her because medival times, because she's a sweet and intellegent woman running an orphanage all by herself, and technically he can't do better, and because it would look disasterously on the both of them and destroy his carefully crafted persona if they somehow couldn't make this community-arranged marriage work. So he's "putting up with her quirks." Including the ancient what-looks-like-wedding-rings she wears around her neck, and the fact she genuinely thinks her one-that-got-away lover sold a prized possession to demons. (the significance of these rings is in the stories of the previous two elizabeths). Well. Actually. He steals them while she's distracted with wedding planning. It doesn't go well for him from there.

Let me know your opinion: should I try finishing the third ellie and then publishing it? I can always go back and make a full story out of "purple ring" ellie + friends later.

Basically, the purple ring's story is as thus: Meliodas decides he needs to rest, "REALLY rest", since his emotional stress is beginning to affect his demon biology in a bad way, and voluntarily coma-tizes himself for a while. He wakes some time later only to find out Elizabeth and her new 'family' have been considering him as their good luck charm. (Maybe even more than one Elizabeth has passed by now. Probably the apothecary he visits figures out what Meliodas meant to do and goes to fetch him, too late, and looks after him . . . see, that could be a whole OTHER story in itself. anyway.) He's a "good luck charm" because his demon aura has been disgusing the magical signature of her druid family, not that they've figured this out. Meliodas tries to get up and run away with an injured Ellie but surprise surprise he hasn't quite recovered from what his body and mind has been through, and the combination of that and the drugs has left him critcially weakened. He actually collapses falls down a small cliff with her. Ellie assures him they've gotten far enough to shake off the people who are searching for her, that it's okay. Moreover, she understands more or less what he's going through, since she lost her leg a while back. They reuinte with Ellie's little "siblings," druid children the family has rescued along their journey.

Later ~ the main organizers of their group are shocked to return to their isolated cabin to find that not only have all the children survived the winter, and possible clashes with whoever's been hunting them for decades, but there's one extra child! And a talking cow. (I haven't decided whether some of these people are semi-antagonsists.) Meliodas's condition never improves (angst angst <3) but he takes up the task of looking after the kids alongside Elizabeth anyway- especially when she and the others are gone, working or otherwise. Oftentimes he and the spunky talking cow go on adventures in the forest or in town, collecting herbs or materials for crafts and toys. She carries him, Hawk-style. I can't remember her name but it was a silly one, and he saves her life once with his wings. He's also fought away intruders once while the 'adults' weren't home with Full Counter, being able to stand for long enough to use it before collapsing.

In this iteration, Meliodas recieves his ring from his new 'siblings' as they say that "it's the same color as the magic you used to protect us." Referring to the times he's used his demon magic around the house, and, unknowingly, to the fact his very presence has been the only thing keeping them safe from raiders on more than one occasion. Throughout it all Meliodas struggles with having to be the one cared for for once, and not being able to be the muscle of this group that so clearly would benefit from him being his 'usual' self. While his siblings think he's a genuine gift from God, and are more than happy to look after him as he does them, trading stories between them and cuddling up like he truly belongs, adult members of the family never take a shine to him and resent him somewhat, even perrfering when he was comatose. There's more (and more angst) but I should probably say less.

4. (TW: this one gets DARK with the demon brothers angst) modern fantasy ireland boarding school au" is actually another gift for @gh0stofyesterday, who can't escape me, from back in like feburary or something lol. It's an angsty modern-day genderqueer demon brothers and genderqueer elizabeth. Basically Meliodas tricks his snooty father into letting him and his brother (who's not technically old enough but academically girlboss yourself outta that condundrum zeldris) go to boarding school in his deceased mother's home country, where Meliodas plans to study interior design (he's gonna design the boar hat himself <3) and, against his father's wishes, join the gymnastic team. Little does he know that his online friends in his tween gymnastics discord server or whatever (The TC) are also going to end up there. ( I have the scene where they realize he's not the snooty daughter of the DK ceo and actually their Captain planned out already actually. they realize it when he beats the snot out of some guy that chases zeldris through the gymnasium lol).

Other plot points include! Elizabeth and Meliodas have a secret online romance as "Study buddies" and plan to perform a ceremony to use whatever their magic is unsealed to share a bit of that magic with each other, as a kind of marriage ceremony (peak 14 year old romance lol). Meliodas and Zeldris learn (originally Irish) sign language in order to communicate without their father snooping. Cusack and Chandler deal with being technical slaves to the Demon King and attempt to parent their protegees in more important ways than teaching them fencing, keeping their secrets, and buying them things. Gelda explains she never cuddles with her sisters for emotional support, Zel and Mel feel sorry for her . . . then figure out they are touch-starved and probably need therapy for that too. Hot springs date. Zel discovers Mel has been cuddling him while laying on his side specifically because there are fresh child abuse wounds across his back. Meliodas commandeers his gymnastics coach's coaching authority and starts an underground fencing ring upon being told he can't do that (we go to school in a castle! c'mon!). Zeldris tries to deal with a ginger-haired kid who seems equally hellbent on being his friend as he is his school rival. Depending on how dark I'm gonna make this, you might even get to see a prolouge where Zeldris forgoes a plan to murder - suicide his brother following his mother's funeral after meeting a small Gelda at the playground. Oh, and the DK having to fidgit uncomfortably in court. This one is basically a for-fun daydream, but a pal volunteed to beta it for me so it will eventually get written up for you all!

He talks about how he addressed the issues with the last podcast on the new podcast. He apologizes for the autism episode and said he received messages about the autism episode. He was debating if he should delete the podcast and he got a message from his mom saying she loved the episode, Jeff had an uncle who had cerebral palsy. His mom says Steven is an idiot.

Talks about how he posted an Instagram story and then Todd posted one with similar captions. Talks about how he looks fast af when he wears those ugly glasses, lol. He is going to make his own version of those sunglasses. He smokes weed sometimes but he went a week without it. “I know not everyone knows too much about her and I tried to share too much, she’s more of a private person. I learned my lesson from having a public relationship, not saying that we are boyfriend and girlfriend but you know I don’t even want to get that out there before it fucks anything up. I like that she’s been helping me out with my mental health and learning just help do exercises to fix my mind and not fucking drugs because for a while I was taking klonopin when I was stressed out and Ambien at night. It’s just not good man…straight up no more drugs for me…or who knows. I just got a bar of mushroom chocolates from my boy and it looks good.”

Georgie doesn’t match his intensity if everyday life, she thinks he’s nuts because when they went to Laguna he was running 10 miles a day on the beach but he loved it. She does exercise and hike but no one matches his intensity.

Well, I’ve finished my treatment for the kidney infection :D.

I have another doc appointment this Thursday and psychiatrist appointment on Friday LOL!!!

For now I’m also taking acid blockers to help with my digestion / internal inflammation.

Mostly my biggest L has been nutrition—

I’m doing my best to be healthy and what not but my body nerfs me in some type of way — appetite, digestion, blah blah blah

Tldr;

I lost an unhealthy amount of weight because I can’t digest anything and I could barely eat anything for like a week;

My sis told my mom she thinks I should be institutionalized because she’s afraid I’m going to die from malnutrition 🦆.

Anyways, things are starting to … hopefully, get better ❤️‍🩹.

I feel the need to state here— I don’t have an eating disorder (in the traditional sense). About a year and a half ago I was suddenly unable to eat: wheat, peanuts, egg whites, milk/anything with lactose 🤪

That’s like. Almost every food ever. LOL.

Most things are made with wheat flour, or eggs or blah blah blah.

So completely changing my diet had me fked up for 6 months; I adjusted — but then my health continued to worsen, and in July we finally learned I had an intestinal infection called H. Pylori—all of July I was treated for that.

The first week of august was okay….and then I slowly started to worsen, more and more and more, until the Nov 1st ER trip <33. Where they told me I had a kidney infection. (And as stated before, I just finished treatment for that.)

Anyways; I LOVE food I LOVE eating; but bro. Do you know how much it fvcking SUCKS when it genuinely hurts to eat? When I am constantly fighting against having no appetite, and the constant nausea after like 3 spoonfuls of food—do y’all know how desolate and desperate that can make a person? Blah >:O

Half the problems I’ve had with productivity in November can be directly correlated with low blood sugar making it so I can’t think worth of shxt 🫥👻

I think I’ve been okay? I mean whew. Literally last Monday to Wednesday I went through the WORST fvcking paranoia. Y’all would not even BELIEVE— 😩

This Friday I’ll be reconvening with my psychiatrist on what we should do (med wise 🤪).

I almost wish my game was as buggy as yours sounds. It sounds hilarious and game enriching. Mine doesn't like to glitch up but that probably because I played on PS4 and 5. Right after original launch of plain Subnautica, I got to the lava castle but the containment area wouldn't load so I had to start a new save. Hours down the drain.

Below zero just felt cramped and not as scary while Subnautica was open to terror from any direction. I totally understand your first experience being your favorite though. Whoa! You played it in the beta??? That's awesome! I'm but a lowly console peasant (until I get my PC fixed 😈) so I had to wait for console release.

And other games I play are pretty much anything 💀 I try to not get into competitive games like overwatch, Apex, or CSGO because I get EXTREMELY competitive and start screeching like a wounded animal. I used to play league religiously until my PC broke and my laptops can't run it (it can but it's like I'm either crashing or playing on PowerPoint) so I'm saving to get a new processor so I can play again! I mained ADC (jinx and Ashe, sometimes Tristana) or Annie on mid (LOL) BUT other than those, I prettyuch like anything. My fave games are Horizon Zero Dawn, Fable 2, Binding of Isaac, Assassin's Creed 2, and Minecraft! I play lots of survival games like ark, the forest, 7 days to die, and so on. I like simulation games Sims (obviously), house flipper, power wash simulator or even farming simulator 💀. You name a game, I've either played it or know about it.

Everyone reading Dracula Daily and then coming to tumblr to discuss it is actually incredibly helpful to me. I’m dyslexic and I would not have read Dracula on my own because of the old English and not understanding it. Thankfully I can read an entry, get a general vibe of what has happened and go to tumblr where everyone is talking about what just happened. It helps me understand the parts I weren’t to sure about. WG Find Of The Day 🔎#2

Hooooooo boooy okay so it was about time that I update this here blog. Sorry for not posting in forever everyone, and as an apology I bring y’all my juiciest and most recent find first!!

So many of you guys perhaps thought in the past “Wow, I really wish we kinda had like an interview for Wordgirl or a panel or something anything that we-“

And the ONLY WAY that I knew about its existence was because I saw it on a Facebook post.

Okay so this was posted on the same year that Soup2Nuts closed and it’s basically a panel of a couple of people that worked at Soup2Nuts such as Hanna Bliss, Steve Young, and Dave Trexler, all while being moderated by Alex Berry (you may or may not recognize these names).

There is a whooole lot of good stuff in this thing, but to make a bit easier to find the good bits I’ll list out the moments from certain parts I enjoyed under the cut hehe:

Part 3

They mentioned that for the first episodes of Wordgirl the level of animation looked so inconsistent because they handed parts to people and received them without any double look, so they later changed the pipeline so that each team within Soup2Nuts had a supervisor.

Lots of outakes from the actors occur before designs and storyboards and the like get involved (which makes sense cause Wordgirl’s more script driven) so many don't make the final cut, but for the love of all things good I WANNA SEE THOSE OUTTAKES WITH THE SWEARING PLEASE OH LORD

Not a Wordgirl related comment, but apparently they were given soo much more freedom with Astroblast (which is another show Soup2Nuts worked on after getting Wordgirl on the tracks) and the fact that they mentioned there was a dog cult in one of the last few episodes just about to make me wanna try watching it

why Sakupen Circles is NOT an unoriginal wave hell circles level (sakupen circles review and why i like it)

p.s. I AM TALKING ABOUT THE ORIGINAL 1.9 V HERE BECAUSE THE REMAKE HAS SOME REPLACED PARTS!!!!!!!!! OK?????? YES

okay, so, reading this title, you might think

"well SLIDY of CCOURSE IT IS! its a 2022 top 1 wave impossible 4k g502 60fps showcase 360hz slaughterhouse upcoming nine circles of darkness level! "

NO. i have liked this level since 2018 (over half of its lifespan HA!!!!) and you're WRONG and HERE IS WHY!!!!!!!!!!!

(also, i wanted to add videos of all of the parts, but u cant add more than 1 video per post on tumblr i think :( so heres the whole level)

#1 - THE PREDROP

the predrop of this level is probably the least original part, but its still pretty unique. the first 2 jumps are nothing i remember seeing in any other rated level, abusing hitboxes is something people seem to be scared to do. the next clicks are in a mirror portal (self explanatory) and then it has an extremely awkward pink orb click abusing hitboxes once again. next is the ship, with only really one interesting click, taking advantage of portals saving momentum, forcing you to hit the roof. the next part is unoriginal lol taking a part from sonic wave. then theres probably the least original part in any level ever thats just a bunch of spike jumps before transititioning into

#2 - WAVE CLICK PATTERN

(yaaw yaw yaw yayayaw yaaw yaaw yaw day dayayayay (tsk) yayaya)

this alone is probably one of the two most interesting pieces of gameplay in this level, the only other example of another level doing this level is crimson clutter (silent btw) on a much smaller scale. i have no idea what mindfuck caused nick24 to do this but i really like it honestly. also the structuring here is really unique for a NC level which is nice, especially for how early this was into the NC trend's existance. then we have the sonic wave floor spam with some amazing portal placement by nick. this then leads onto the

#3 - NOT VERY INTERESTING PART COMPARED TO THE REST BUT STILL PRETTY CREATIVE

not much to say about this part, the original doesnt have that dumb portal spam LOL tosh is just dumb but those 3 clicks are like a generic nc mini dual structure on steroids. that shit go cray zee! ayways then its back to the WAVE CLICK PATTERN but reversed through a rough transition AND THEN....................... DUMRROLL PLease

#4 - THE CRAZY SPAM!!!!

this part isnt actually that creative but i havent seen many other levels do it so im talking about it. this part is SO HARD tosh had to NERF IT to do an AUTO SHOWCASE. this shit is SO HARD ITS REALLY HARD I DONT KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE HOW HARD THIS PART IS. getting past this part from 0 is probably harder than beating the rated sakupen circles (which is hard) which actually has a quarter of this spam in it!!! THE EASIEST PART OF THE SPAM!!!!!!! this shit is like 12cps controlled downwards and upwards spam. conclusion: way too hard. NEXT PART IS

#5 - THE DOUBLE CLICKS )wat)

(yoy yaya yaya yaya yoyoyoyooow yoy yoy yoy YAAAAY YAYAYAYA YA YA YA YA yayayayayaya)

this part is fucking insane. mentally insane. this is the first time this was ever done and is so iconic that itll never be done again. how do you even come up with this? the double clicks here are so insane and precise that im surprised they are even possible, especially since nick didnt verify this with speedhacks. i genuinely struggle to express my thoughts on this part, its just crazy, and probably the best example of double clicks in normal gameplay. then its the triple x wave which is tight asf but not original, then there is an odd 30fps spam which is impossible on 30fps because this level is 60fps minimum. then, finally, we have:

#6 - the last shirp

I just read the new chapter and saw your Tumblr!!! Oh my, I never expected that turn on events!!! This is soooo great!!! I mean, turning against each other? P. S. You know, I finally found out what your story reminds me. It really give ls me the vibes of the fanatic rise funs and the fanatic 2012 funs, that try to prove their beloved version the best, and us readers are non fanatic, or in my case, funs of both versions, and we see them compering and fighting and we're like - it's not the same!!! You can't compare versions, they all are different in their own amazing way!!!

When I said this was gonna be a crossover with ☄spice☄ I was not kidding. I honestly believe that if you took the series finale turtles of both shows, they would not get along. I could see season 1 - 3 2012 being more relatable to the 2018 guys, but I felt like I could have more... development (?) using the older versions as opposed to ones closer in age. And not just development for the 2012 guys - Rise still have room to grow. As for them not getting along, Raphael snapping was building up the entire story and Leo just does not vibe with Leonardo. With the realization that things are repeating (which may possibly include mistakes that 2012 are desperate to fix/ei Michelangelo convincing Raph, Mikey, and Donnie to leave the lair to not be consumed by Leo being hurt) and Leo getting nerfed by Shredder, everyone was stressed, and as Leonardo predicted - someone snapped. I also want to throw in a little clue on Raphael's part. While his reaction was indicated to play a large role with his past, the timeline was also mixing again. Obviously, Raph is stuck in the Brain Worm episode, but Raphael was going through a Rise episode that's pretty similar to Clash of the Mutanimals. I'll let you guys figure that one out.

And I'm so happy you're enjoying the story! The support means the world to me and motivates me to write like no tomorrow! And never ever apologize for being excited about something or rambling, I love seeing people getting passionate or gushing about stuff, like PLEASE ramble about stuff, even if I don't get it, I just like hearing people all excited.

And I was waiting to reveal this, but yeah u right lol. I wrote this fic since I had the timeline idea and was yet to find a fic that I thoroughly enjoyed that was a crossover (discluding Dagger From the Mirror by @nostalgiaruinedme ) so if you can't find one, make one. HOWEVER, another part came from the hate both shows get (Rise hate is more commonly seen on Instagram by older fans while 2012 is more tumblr/AO3 based) and I used those reoccurring insults to be some of the reasons they don't get along. It's a reflection of the discourse in the fandom that quite frankly is ridiculous. Each gen was made with a different generation/audience in mind and I think that's beautiful. It means everyone has a version to personally connect to since none are carbon copies, something always varies. But, that's a different post for another day.

hi, maybe you're tired about this kind of convie regarding hange's gender but i really need your opinion. is it that wrong if i consider hange as a she? istg i'm not anythingphobic, i'm just still stuck with female hange in anime. i stan aot since 2013 and felt just fine to open up about my preference in hange's gender but lately, considering hange as a she is like the most sinful thing in the whole planet and even being attacked and i don't know what to feel about it. 😩

i believe there are a lot of great posts on tumblr that can probably answer this better and more eloquently than me. but i do believe i read that isayama officially said hange’s gender was up to interpretation. but anyway, my thoughts are this:

i think something important to remember here is that aot/snk is a story—an art medium. And art is something that conveys an artists thoughts and feelings, and in an equally important way, gives us fans to interpret what that creation means to us. that’s the whole point of art, right?

since i’m just your run-of-the-mill hetero female, i cant speak for our lgbtq friends, but i can imagine that being able to interpret hange as non-binary is really important and meaningful for some.

to give an example of something similar I can better verbalize myself upon—the movie, Crazy Rich Asians, was something really important to me and a lot of my friends. Maybe it’s not super important to other people and maybe it was just another entertaining movie to watch, but as an Asian-American, being able to see a FULL Asian cast on the big screen affected me more than i thought it would and it low key brought me to tears. These were people, who looked like me, understood the struggles of being a first gen kid, who understood what it meant to be a minority and conform to majority to fit in, who understood what a “lunchbox moment” was in the grade school cafeteria, who made it in an industry that stereotypes Asians all the time that make us all seem the same and as if there aren’t several different asian cultures—just...wow. It meant everything to me, and all of my Asian-American friends, that our existence was reflected on a screen where being Asian-American, being who they are, was portrayed as the norm and were not simply characters reduced to filling a diversity role or just the asian math nerd to laugh at.

so i can only imagine the feeling it can create for people who identify as non-binary to get that kind of representation! i’m sure it gives these people the same exhilarating happiness i felt watching CRA for the first time.

so back to snk/aot—at the same time, i liken my personality to hange in a lot of ways, and with combination of that and being a preferred anime watcher (i only read the manga bc i just had to know what happened past season 3 lol) and being female myself, i personally interpreted hange as female, bc it was nice for me personally to see so many strong female characters in anime that don’t get nerfed like in so many other animes. so interpreting hange as female was important for me in this sense, personally. but it’s important to remember that this view isn’t the same for all fans!

so TLDR basically i’m saying, representation matters, and i think everyone should have the freedom to interpret hange’s gender in a way that represents what the character means to them because again—the interpretation of art is supposed to be meaningful to us as consumers of it—it’s supposed evoke feelings within us, and help find meaning in our lives through the themes and arcs of a character/story that are significant to us, right?

so, no one should be putting you down for what hange means to u in your eyes. we should be respecting everyone’s interpretation bc that’s how they found meaning in hange’s character

and anyways beyond all of this, we can all come together and agree that hange is the badass beautiful character we all love, right?

Unpopular opinion: Portraying Sam and Dean as worthless, incompetent hunters who learned nothing from their father's training or a lifetime of hunting bc it was all God is disrespecful as hell. Sam and Dean are--well, were, I guess--heroes who stood up to monsters, angels and demons as ordinary people. Tonight destroyed all of that.

I mean, I’d agree with you, if I thought that was actually what the show had done. Sam and Dean currently BELIEVE that, and are making choices based on that assumption, but is it actually true?

I can’t believe it is. I think they’ve made an incorrect assumption, and are going to “pay a price” for having made a bad choice based on that belief...

Because we’ve been shown that’s how Chuck arranges things. That’s how he “tells his stories.”

When in the previous episode, Chuck’s final words to Sam were the statement that Sam had “lost hope,” and the pronouncement that Sam and Dean weren’t the heroes of the story; and when Dean stood up to him and said he and Sam would never “perform” the story Chuck wanted to see them act out (like “all the other Sams and Deans” eventually did in all his other universes), it was like they’d thrown down a gauntlet for him. Dean PUNCHED CHUCK IN THE FACE. That was the gauntlet-slap.

To me, this episode felt like Chuck’s petty (and rather crackpot) attempt to manipulate them into believing that this is what they truly are without his Divine Cosmic Help, and honestly, THAT is what I am calling bullshit on. The show is practically BEGGING us to see that.

I mean, if Dean had had ONE cavity, I could buy it was just bad luck. If Baby had ONE bad spark plug, I could buy it was just a normal sort of problem that normal people face. But the sheer number of failures they experienced went so far beyond “normal” as to be cartoonish. No normal person has EVER had a day like that. But the fact that Sam and Dean were so willing to BELIEVE it, even after Dean had been convinced at the beginning of the episode that they were CURSED... he let Sam (and Garth, and Bess) talk him OUT of that conviction.

Dean: No. No, no, no. This is -- this is more than just a no good very bad day, okay? Chuck must have boned us before He left, you know. Or maybe some of that crap you brought back from Rowena's went sideways. Because this. This is not normal.

But by the end of the episode, Dean was beginning to believe that this was very much their “new normal.” To the point where he’s willing to drive to Alaska and pay whatever price to get back their “lost luck.” And honestly, THAT WAS THE POINT. It’s shaken DEAN’S WILL, his BELIEF IN HIMSELF. Which is pretty much the ONLY weapon he had against Chuck in the first place.

Honestly, to me, the thing that convinced me that they were actively being hindered (i.e. that Chuck was actively working to PREVENT them from succeeding at anything on their own) was the fact that not even their reputation as The Winchesters was worth anything to the monster fighty dude. Not even the vast over-preparedness they went into that warehouse with was enough to give them ANY sort of advantage.

They weren’t “normal,” they were DOOMED TO FAIL, because Chuck was proving a point. A point they willingly bought into, despite the overwhelming evidence that they were being specifically held back from succeeding, at anything.

They’re still struggling to understand exactly how Chuck is capable of interfering with their lives. And while I appreciate Dean admitting that their choices have been their own, and not everything about their lives was down to Chuck, the fact that he let himself be talked out of the conviction that Chuck “boned” them before leaving (lol as if Chuck would leave NOW, when things just began to get interesting for him again, just when he’s untethered himself from Sam and can finally “see” the Winchesters again) means he’s still subject to Chuck’s terrible plot...

So I agree with you. If that had been the point of the episode, it would’ve been a bunch of bullshit. If the episode hadn’t included all the references to all the “we are literally actually cursed” episodes, and all the “we are directly being manipulated by cosmic forces” episodes... I mean...

3.03 Bad Day At Black Rock: The rabbits foot gave them ACTUAL GOOD LUCK. Their good luck was so entirely OTT that Dean joked he was Batman. They easily identified it as ridiculous levels of good luck. Until they lost the foot (because EVERYONE loses the foot, it’s part of the CURSE). Their luck didn’t go back to normal, it went cosmically, horribly BAD. So bad, Bobby told them, “you’re dead within a week.” Because that was how the curse worked. Their entire lives haven’t been “lucky.” And Dean would normally be the first person to admit that. His first instinct in this episode was to wonder if he’d been subjected to a similar curse because of how comically bad his luck had turned.

5.08 Changing Channels: the first clue was all the “Seriously? SERIOUSLY?” stuff at the beginning. I was half expecting Sam to get slapped in the face and called a “brilliant coward.” But we even got a NUTCRACKER! callback, only this time it was Dean that took the shot to the crotch... Not just the comic gags of the episode, though, but the Bigger Plot of how and why they were being put through all those tv shows, being forced to LEARN A LESSON, of Gabriel messing with them and pushing them into PLAYING THEIR ROLES, and ACCEPTING THEIR DESTINY.  Please tell me that’s not EXACTLY the lesson Chuck would want them to learn after 15.09.

3.11 Mystery Spot: or that one where NOTHING Sam did, no matter how many chances he was given to replay that day, could’ve saved Dean. Sam was nerfed. Effectively rendered powerless against the story, and in the “dark half” of the episode was driven on a misguided revenge quest against the Trickster. Sam couldn’t even begin to see the bigger picture, and believed that just because he’d broken free of the “time loop” that he was actually engaging with reality, that Dean was actually perma-dead, and had isolated himself from all his friends and gone off the rails in his single-minded trek to hunt down the monster that had done this to him... all the while he was focused on the wrong thing and was still trapped in the “make-believe scenario” Gabriel had established for him. Because, golly, that sounds like the exact spot they’re in RIGHT NOW, having been convinced that their run of bad luck is the direct result of Chuck NOT interfering in their lives, casting them as the “heroes” of his story. And I don’t believe that’s what has happened, at all. I believe Chuck is more focused on them, directly, than he ever has been before.

Because Sam and Dean haven’t had “hero status” stripped from them. Chuck is WAY too petty to just “give up the story” and render his main characters inept all of a sudden. Sam and Dean are still “his guys.” They’re still the main characters of an obsessive writer who’s directly fighting against their will. This is like... the inverse of 4.18, where Chuck “wrote himself into the story.” This is his reaction to his characters declared intent to “write themselves OUT of his story,” to DEFY his story. This is Chuck’s idea of petty revenge for using their free will against him.

In that context, the context of the larger arc of s15, this is like... textbook illustration of how Chuck has been grinding down their will, pushing them to make Terrible Choices against their own better judgment, because that’s where he wanted the story to go. I think we need to keep that in mind, that the story ITSELF is the big bad, and Chuck’s just had all his powers restored to him. Assuming he wouldn’t immediately put those powers to their full use at his first available opportunity is just... daffy.

In an alternate world like ours, at around the late 1980s all these tower dungeons popped out of no where (kinda like magi) and djins which are humans contracted to devils started killing people with their newfound powers. In response to this phenomenon, people started being born with Gifts so they would go on to defend humanity and conquer these towers. Fast forward to around our current time and that’s when the plot line beings.

FYI: There’s a Korean nationalistic tone bc Korea was the best in fighting against back the Djnns and towers so they overtook the USA’s position of the world’s leading superpower. Like Korean even became the new lingua franca.

The towers’ appearance basically meant that all those myths and legends are true and whatever item or artifact that originates from it is also true

This also means, the stronger of the history behind the myth/legend, the stronger the weapon is. 

This means that in this world, traditional weapons like bows and swords are actually stronger than guns 

Notes on Kim Hajin

His “unfair advantages” I argue is a crutch bc he didn’t end up as one of the OP main characters. He ended up as an extra that should have no relevance to the plot so of course his stats suck ass. 

Knowledge of the plot does not equal perfect foresight bc the co-author literally changed some major plot details 

These plot twists actually makes things more interesting bc that usually means the situation becomes way more harder 

Butterfly effect from the MC’s interference 

Only has knowledge up to certain point bc he never finishes the novel 

Cheat-like abilities of modifying stats/abilities 

Has to pay in Story Points which he has to work for by progressing the plot in some way

The price for modifying is exorbitantly high so he always has to nerf it down for a cheaper price
