Ppl are always demonizing sharks but can we demonize halibut instead? Nothing wrong with them I just think more people should fear them. I want to paint flames up the sides of them.

On Saturdays my bus doesn't come until late so I usually stop in at this one pub and have a beer or two after work. Since I work where I do and this pub is the kind of pub it is I always end up sitting at the bar with a bunch of off-shift fishermen and sailors and it's gotten to the point where they know me and will ask me about my day.

"The water was choppy today, horrible wind and sleet from the northeast" and I nod as though I understand.

"We had to rehang one entire wall today and I had to frame a million little works for an upcoming show" and they all nod as though they understand.

None of us know neither jack nor shit about each other's line of work but we all make the effort.

Of Weapons and fishing

Our party recently rolled into town after escorting a merchant from a nearby settlement, and we wanted to check out the blacksmiths for new gear.

Our beast tamer wolf-folk walked away with a set of durks (little knivey things), I (playing a half-orc ex-blacksmith apprentice turned adventurer) tried haggling the proprieter out of a shield, with very little success.

Last up was our blind, wood elf seer, looking for something with a bit reach, like a staff or spear.

Dm (as Blacksmith, with a scottish accent) : ooe'r, you’d definitely want this halberd then, got a nice reach and very sharp head to it ya ken.

Elf (ooc) : wait wait, I though halberd was a fish?

Hallibut… He was thinking of a hallibut.

For today’s lunch I’ve made hallibut with a veggy salad. To begin with I’ve started with an easy sauce, tomatoes, chilli, tahini paste, garlic, and on the top I’ve put a hallibut fillet and let it boil until it was cooked on the Pan under a cover. Later I chopped cherry tomatoes and cucamber and covered it with apple cider (nothing special but very tasty and healthy). I found that drinking or consuming apple cider on daily bases has very beneficial effects on human health such as it helps with better metabolism :-) I really like fish since I’ve decided to become better at it and I think that this time I did a great job.

After the disappointing Starter, they certainly kept the momentum going! Rotten clams would have had more flavors than these ones on my plate. They literally just boiled these clams in the awful tasting Florida tap water. I'm serious! You could taste the flavor of tap water lingering! The fish is a hallibut, but really nothing to write home about! (at Cítricos)
