I absolutely fucking hate Nathaniel Hawthorne. He is undoubtedly my least favourite member of the Guild and the entire series. I cannot stand him. He should have died instead of Margaret on the episode he was introduced. He shouldn't have been able to stay alive and keep showing up until the last fucking episode of season 4. That was utterly ridiculous. His design is boring, just like his book which I'm going to be forced to read this year in my English class. His hair looks really fucking ugly. It's worse than Atsushi's imo. He didn't deserve to live for as long as he did. Margaret has a much better book and I think she would be so much better of a character in Hawthorne's place, just so I wouldn't have to see his ugly ass until season fours finale. He is a worse character than the guy that killed oda. Oda's killer has more of a personality than Nathaniel, and a better ability, and he was in the anime for like 2-3 episodes. In conclusion, Nathaniel Hawthorne is the fucking worst.

I miss the old Higgs' design, it was very strong but maybe this clown will grow on me, who knows lol. I can't believe I actually wanted to draw those equations on his forehead (I used to find it tedious. I took them for granted 😭)

something cool I noticed when drawing this: the makeup below his eyes appear to be inspired by the stripes you see on Nemes - the striped headcloths worn by pharaohs. unrelated to DS but about the song I chose: it's one of my fave Arctic Monkeys songs, I heard it live and I haven't been the same since - it gives me Higgs vibes! one of the interpretations on Genius suggested that "crying lightning" refers to the streaks that form on someone's face when their mascara runs.

i think part of the reason people are so hateful about fat people is because theyre not fat, even though they put little to no effort into their diet and daily activity levels. even if they dont live healthy lifestyles and theyre not trying to, and theyre still a "normal" weight. and because theyre ignorant and resistant to learning about how peoples bodily functions vary wildly, anyone who is fat must have brought it upon themselves by being extra lazy or extra glutinous and if they were normal they wouldnt be fat and its soooo easy to not be fat because look at them theyre not fat. which is so fucking stupid because so many people complain about how skinny people exist without "earning" how skinny they are, theyre literally just like that even if they eat tons of food because they're trying desperately not to be skinny. but the opposite cant be true for fat people apparently. fatness is always a direct consequence of abnormal habits apparently.
