What if Clawdeen got into monster music once she joined monster high and Catty Noir became her favorite... What if she tried to make friends with Toralei and started to talk about Catty bc she knew that Toralei's into music and found out that Toralei also loves Catty and they talked about her all day... What if they started to talk about Catty more and more often and made merch to swap and planned to go on a concert together and all that plus other, additional things like Clawdeen helping Toralei with her mom made Toralei falll in love with Clawdeen... What if, once Catty joins the school, Toralei isn't nearly as excited as she would be before meeting Clawdeen because she's jealous that Clawdeen isn't paying as much attention to her anymore AND she's subconsciously worried that Clawdeen will start dating Catty and she won't have a chance to confess anymore... I’m trying to have a coherent thought here about Ruby and Neo parallels. I’m getting on my tinfoil hat here bare with me.

In Roman Holiday Neo doesn’t really have motives aside from wanting someone to understand her. She finds that in Roman who is the first person to acknowledge her abilities and treat her like an actual genuine friend. Her only goal in the Fall of Beacon was to stay with Roman. So much of her identity was tied to him because she was able to comfortably be herself around him.

We already know that Ruby’s identity is also tied to someone important to her, her mom. That doesn’t need much explaining. I think in order for either of them to move forward they would need to let go of the metaphorical ghosts they’re chasing which is easier said than done and I’m not entirely sure that Neo would be able to as spiteful as she is.

Basically what I’m saying is Ruby VS Neo but add in some Ego Death.

#because truthfully… I’m not sure what Neo’s going to do AFTER she gets revenge #rwby #rwby9 #neo politan #ruby rose #Neo’s whole thing was she was low empathy but she cared very deeply about whoever she could consider an equal #and for a long time that was only Roman #like what’s left for her if she wins?#also if she can make living puppets out of her illusions now #I’m not convinced that her semblance doesn’t have something to do with imagination and I think she’ll make her parents and roman #the mad hatter in Alice in wonderland was stuck in an eternal tea party because he crossed the red queen #he’d been there for so long that he started to go mad and think it was fun #also there is an unseen character in Alice in wonderland called Time that is directly correlated to the everlasting tea party #i have many thoughts #rwby theory

there r a lot of things about the myth of psyche and eros that makes me a little insane but one of them has always been the tasks from aphrodite and the unfairness of it. they're not intended to be possible. they're so obviously not meant to be possible, and psyche isn't fucking hercules, you know, she's not a demigod or whatever, she's mortal and these aren't mortal tasks!! it's why psyche has to be helped with each one, fucking by like ants and river gods and shit. and so like. idk. i know ppl see psyche and eros as like a story about love and shit which obviously it is but as a kid psyche and eros always felt like a story about being able to accept help

#in my theoretical adaptation of psyche and eros i'll never write i emphasize this theme #by changing psyche from a princess and youngest daughter to a poorer girl and eldest daughter who is very like. sophie hatter esque #also tbh when i first started thinking about my theoretical adaptation of psyche and eros i was reading hmc LMAO #also also ALSO. as a kid i always felt like the story was soooo deeply about regret and atonement and forgiveness #like YES the story is about love but not about easy love. love is difficult and requires work and sometimes u hurt each other !!!!!#it always struck me as a kid how psyche just. accepts the tasks.#i always read it as like. psyche KNOWS these tasks are unfair and i dont even think she expects to achieve them #but she accepts them anyways because she so deeply regrets what she did to eros and has no idea what else she can do.#am i verbalizing this well or have the worms eating my brain reached an irreversible point #also tbf im pretty sure the version i read as a kid didnt include the multiple times psyche tries to kill herself LMAO.#but we're ignoring that because i love the idea that shes just. so aimless and resigned to the tasks #ALSO on eros' side of things #i dont have like proper analysis about it but as a kid i saw eros hiding his face as like. fear?#like. fear that the person he loves will think he's a monster if he reveals his true self. or somethin. which also. i think is very queer #also very beauty and the beast. for obvious reasons since it was based on psyche and eros lmao #oh also. i already mentioned it but psyche and hercules r so similar.#did something unforgivable to a loved one --> given multiple impossible tasks to atone for it etc etc #i dont have any real analysis abt it i dont remember a lot abt hercules tbh but. yah #ALSO. okay i think retellings of hades and persephone where theyre totally in love and stuff r kinda tired.#BUT. in the theoretical adaptation i always imagined a scene where psyche does the last task where she goes to the underworld #and shes tired shes soso tired #and she goes to persephone and persephone is gentle and motherly which aphrodite has Not been to psyche #and i think if persephone is unkidnapped and truly in love w hades #then i think there could be a fun parallel between persephone and psyche in which like. theyre both in love w ppl #who are seen as monsters. and shit. or whatever #anyways. idk what made me think abt this again. All I know about the new descendants movie is osmosis from tumblr and combining that with the media I think of when someone says Alice in Wonderland is making for tbh the movie in my brain is probs very different than what I've heard the new one is like.

And that media is the Royal Ballet's Alice in Wonderland. Its a lovely comic ballet, and my favourite dances are The Mad Hatter's Tea Party (tap! in a ballet! also in this clip played by Steven McRae, who i want to know more about and watch more of his stuff as i have heard good things about from other dancers I know), and the Tart Adage, which is frickin hilarious. (also the way that the King of Hearts just droops around in the background and its like yup. thats Red's dad apparently.)

So uh everyone should watch these clips simply because they're amazing and I love them.

As the oldest sibling I understand this exact emotion all too well.

Also they're not blood-related.#Break doesn't want to deal with kids but the universe keeps throwing them at him and it's the funniest thing #Also Break in his twenties was just acting like the most stereotypical teenaged older brother #“I hate you all” “leave me alone” then proceeds to wander around the mansion all depressed and brooding...#snapping at anyone who even slightly annoys him.#To be fair he was seriously traumatized and had every reason to be depressed. One last thing before I say good night.

With the hats and cards, the effect of having oneself put under control of a hat via a card is… well, unsettling and mildly upsetting to see. (At least for me.)

There’s something about the way a person’s face looks when they’ve been put under that just unnerves me for some reason, and I can’t tell what it is about it. Maybe it’s the deadness of their face, the way it suddenly slackens into a lifeless, emotionless expression. No light in the eyes, nothing at all. But not quite “dead”, either.

They look like dolls.

Lumbering, human dolls. But not dollmaker dolls. Just corpselike figures that move about as if still alive, while in their eyes you can see nothing there.

It isn’t a silly, delerious, trancelike state. It’s complete and total override of the main system, absolute control over a person’s consciousness.

And it’s terrifying to watch.

A summary of today's session of PLA in non-chronological order of events:

Bad news: Ingo's knees survived

Ran circles around Jubilife looking for whisps for at least an entire day while Ingo and Irida watched from the dojo in what I can only assume was mounting concern for my character's mental state

Zisu was there, too, but she's probably used to it

Found the last whisp behind the dojo, proceeded to slink around to back and dodge roll full force into Ingo from behind only to discover that I need to actually initiate conversation to progress as my character straightened and just. Peered creepily over his and Irida's shoulders

Dodge roll a few times around them both for good measure

Came bounding through the Highlands on Wyrdeer with much speed, might have died once because eh cliffs

Discovered that I once again needed to initiate conversation to progress as Wyrdeer landed directly on Ingo

Cursed the fact that there is no "hug character" option :<

Murdered Ingo (but not his knees)

Harassed Melli with much glee

DODGE ROLL LITERALLY FOR MY LIFE (Lord Electrode)

Died to something that wasn't gravity marrying cliffs to birth my downfall (Lord Electrode) (his babies exploded in my face too many times)

Arrived in the Icelands, immediately decimated the local Snorunt and Bergmite populations and sent them to the pastures
