barry literally can't look at the grave, he seeks comfort in iris and im QnQ

bart doesnt cry, because he is no stranger to loosing people he cares about, but he is sad and so tired of it

perdita's words about kid flash/wally being something of a security blanket grabbed me by a throat and won't let go, because with him gone how scared and vulnerable and sad must she feel???

Started writing a fic back in early October and had to abandon it for a while due to IRL situations. But I've started working on it again little by little, and I am so excited to eventually share it with my mutuals and followers. I hope you guys enjoy it (I am trying my best to get it done)!

TBH my only motivation anymore is thinking about my friends having a good time reading it when it's finally posted (I love all of you very much). I cannot wait for all of these ideas to be fleshed-out on paper at last.

Over 16,000 words and I am nowhere near satisfied yet. I feel like I can write WAY more. Stay tuned!

I often wonder about the quote-unquote logistics of Corvo the Black/Emily the Butcher endings. Emily makes more sense to me, in a way, carving her way through the empire only to come back with blood caked under her fingernails and realising that she did everything her father refused to do 15 years ago. but why did Corvo have a similar choice?

what happens to the statues later? does Emily keep her father trapped in stone? does Corvo look at his daughter, frozen in the moment and considers freeing her? is he at his deathbed when he finally reaches out and cups Emily's cheek, freeing her into a carcass of an empire that he gutted for her, in her name, in the name of her mother?

when I first heard of the endings I thought that if you reach very high chaos, you are locked into this choice - Corvo or Emily tries to free the other and the stone just doesn't budge. they are trapped. the quest is over but the world knows that the bloodshed was extreme and this is the punishment they have to face

the secret key to writing in character dick grayson is that dick does not get enjoyment out of relaxing or doing fun things. its a hard mindset to understand because it's the opposite of what you or i as fandom people experience, but Dick is never shown to do things for fun. if he's watching a movie or playing a game, it's almost always to spend time with other people, not because that's his impulse (and lowkey he sometimes ruins it for other people by never being able to turn off his brain)

now, this is not to say that he's unhappy, or that he doesn't experience happiness in his day to day. but he doesnt get that from the things that we, as comic book readers and fanfiction writers, get enjoyment from.

Dick is the definition of a workaholic. His only enjoyment comes from a job well done, helping people, and sometimes adrenaline (as his only real canon hobby is...skydiving)

seven or eight times now ive watched the episodes in which they take the andromache and this is the first time ive realized that during the initial battle, after they board, every time the camera is from dufresne's perspective it's blurrier than otherwise because. he took his glasses off for the fight

#real velma hours #i have a soft spot for s1 dufresne that i dont have for s2 & 3 #part of it is that jannes bore a passing resemblance to a longtime mutual of mine so i feel like im watching someone i know #the other part is . well its like andy whitfield versus liam whatsisface when they were on spartacus #i dont know for sure bc they passed and that's the reason their characters were recast. but the actors have a different energy #from seasons one to seasons two and three. and i really wonder what jannes would have brought to dufresne's betrayal #roland reed's take is extremely bitter and self-preservationist #but from what we did get of jannes' performance i imagine his version would've been more confused and fear-based. jaded/feral #and i always think it really wouldve been something #black sails #q #everything about this battle sequence is a masterpiece. from the shot of joshua getting his false fangs ready to put in #to mr beauclerc's pile of like a dozen muskets up in the crow's nest. because it's 1715 snipers can't reload . he has to shoot #a different gun every time #to the way most pirate media glosses over the minutia of battle or even priacy in general because it's about the vibe the aesthetic #but sails' piracy is a means to an end and so its pirates are just like. guys with jobs #the minutia of their battle sequences even in their comparatively less insightful first season are INCREDIBLe. like o'brien levels of detai #and the camera work in this sequence! even on my thirteen-inch laptop screen where my show is on a nine-inch window #i am right there in it i feel like im watching it in 3d
