One of the biggest things that makes me see Leo as trans is absolutely the size of his carapace in comparison to his brothers’.

And I’m not talking about height! I’m specifically looking at his shell here, because when you compare him to the others, particularly Donnie who is nearly the same height as Leo, it’s very clear that Leo’s carapace is much longer in proportion to the rest of his body.

Like - standing side by side, even though Donnie is shorter his carapace ends noticeably higher up than Leo’s does. And I like this not only because it really helps push the idea that Leo could very likely be trans (or intersex!), but it’s also just a fun design difference between them.

(It also lends way to future scenarios of Donnie eventually getting taller than Leo, but sitting down still has Leo being the taller one haha.)

like how flow state is an actual thing, not just made up for blue lock

self-style ego vs world-style ego is literally just intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation

So world-type (aka isagi, hiori, reo etc) would be extrinsic motivation and self-type (aka shidou, bachira, nagi) would be intrinsic motivation

I hope this is taken further with in the manga and is actually discussed with all players, not just kept as theory in isagi’s head

I like to think that during pfl (using his s9 characterization, not s10) wash is the guy you go to when you want to know something (ah la a line in the fall of reach novel I believe where chief says the enlisted personnel always seem to know stuff bc wash is clearly enlisted).

he's in a position where he's privy to information from the higher-ups, and he's friendly enough with the lower rungs that he knows the gossip going around. as a bonus though, wash ain't no narc, so if you want that information you need to offer him something of equivalent exchange (consequently fueling the 'guy who knows things' thing). for example, north had to tell him about using equipment in the field in order to get him to tell him what his meeting with internals was about.

wash isn't the only guy who knows things, of course, but he's the guy who has the widest base of general knowledge. ct is also someone who knows things, but she's a lot more specific, and what she lacks in scale she more than makes up for with how in-depth her knowledge is. wash is where you learn about something from, ct is where you get all the juicy details (to the point of it almost being tmi). she also has an equivalent exchange policy, but people tend to be a bit more reluctant to get information from her because of what her knowledge is (and the borderline 'insane conspiracy theorist' energy doesn't help either).

Wait wait wait wait wait. Cal told Daisy that his grandfather was in WWII as a field medic. Aside from the fact that Kyle MacLachlan was born in ‘59 and assuming Cal’s the same age (which checks out with him already being a well-off doctor in ‘88) which would make that one old-ass field medic- this could’ve made everything with Sousa so much funnier. He served in WWII? So did Daisy’s great-grandfather. And Trip’s grandfather. This man is technically old as balls even though he’s relatively young for the SHIELD team because time travel.

What I find even funnier is the very slight chance that this random soldier dr. Johnson and Sousa could’ve actually met. Also the fact that after coming from a generation or two of presumably talented and well-off doctors, Cal goes apeshit and starts drinking gorilla testosterone so he can feel special and immediately murders a few dozen people. Top notch coping mechanisms right there. His therapist must be so proud.

one of my favorite things about zhongli is that he doesn’t shut up like i know we like to compare him to neuvillette and alhaitham but zhongli is like inverse of their signature traits. social awkwardness? quiet and reserved? zhongli does not care he will talk like he understands liyue’s social customs very well he just does what he wants. like yeah he’s calm and reserved but he’s not quiet and he enjoys socializing with humans like it’s one of his favorite things to do. the people of liyue describe as someone who is a little odd but very helpful and knowledgeable so he understands people and he seems pretty good at reading their intentions and behaviors so yeah he’s weird but he’s very popular cause he’s always doing shit

tldr zhongli is a yapper he will talk about anything and everything if you give him a chance he does not care if it’s weird or socially unconventional

Once again may routh please let me interview you for an in-depth analysis on costume design for every newsies clothing (yes even swifty’s vest which is Atrocious. It’s So Bad.) Racetrack’s undershirt being two sizes too big for him is so important to me and his gaudy vests that he has to hitch up to his pants? There’s so much bravado that begins and ends with how he presents himself as larger than life in favor of the odds he’s presented through shape. Even the parts we can’t see (ie his suspenders, pocketwatch) are properly coordinated to his outfits which implies he takes care to notice for little details that are incessant to other characters clothing.

Listen I know people have already talked about this dynamic at length but I’m never shutting the fuck up about this scene.

This shit rewired my brain in middle school. This is, no contest, the flattest version of Knives, but the tension is delicious. “I’m scared, hold my hand, you’re the only one alive who could possibly understand You don’t understand at all, and I have to deal with you and your bullshit and all of the people you’ve hurt.” They’re nothing like each other and they are exactly the fucking same. They’re both so deeply fucked up that this is the only vulnerability they’ll allow themselves- there’s no way other people could understand it. A century is a long time.
