this isnt set in stone but if i was gonna make a full-on au... then fusion would probably be either 'something that yokai can do (like piel and hueso)' or 'hamato mystic nonsense'

ive been kinda imagining donnie and leo fused first out of anyone! maybe by jinxing each other while they were doing their silly mirror routine they sometimes do during fights lmao

i think other fusions had something a more ~dramatique~ but for donnie and leo i think its funniest if it was comically low stakes

How to NOT find out you're adopted

The fun thing about dying was that it messed with your mind. Well it wasn't fun perse but well it was an expirence. It was espacially fun if you have died twice.

And the best part was. Finding out through dying that you're adopted. Really Danny wanted to sarcastically applaud someone for that.

Because when he stepped into his parents portal and turned it one by pretty much dying through electrocution and then getting revieved by the portal that opened on top of him, life decided that wasn't enough drama. Because at that time a whole set of apparently lost memories reopend.

Good point. In the months after his portal accident he had been to busy to deal with that. Bad point, once he had the time to think about it he wanted to rip his hair out cause apparently that portal accident had not been his first death but second death.

Like it wasn't enough that he didn't have any memory's of anything before the age of five before, got some freaky but awesome ghost powers, no his memories has to return too.

And he didn't like it when they did.

Because that meant he now had to remember his oh so gracious grandfather killing him by throwing him into the Lazarus Pit as sacrifice. Really getting drowned wasn't fun as a first death.

Because that meant he was the son of a crime fighting furry. Someone he barely knew anything but his vigilante name and all the praises his bio mother used to brainwash him with.

Because that meant he had a brother that was likely still getting brainwashed by probably both their bio mother and the lunatic of a grandfather.

Because that meant a realization that the Lazarus Pit was nothing more than a ecto-variant. Which, screw that he now got revived two times through that shit too.

But most of all that meant he was fucking adopted and his parents didn't bother to tell him at all. Now, he really didn't feel bad anymore about not telling them about Phantom.

Really as if being half ghost wasn't messing with his life enough now he was starting to get worried about this grandfather's cult and the crime fighting Bat.

At least they wouldn't come to Amity Park, right?

Where’s that post I made about Mike being the companion that broke under the horrors bc I’m still right. When I think abt the THINGS some companions have had to endure and have still seemingly been fine, and then I think of mike losing himself and his values to a festering psychological wound that left him open to radicalisation, it’s like he is the evidence that actually everything isn’t fine.

Which is why it’s so important that he should be next seen in meditation, in the seeking of peace, in quietness and healing because not only is he a character that needs it he’s also a character that knows he needs it and seeks it out for himself, because he doesn’t recognise who he is anymore and he wants, not to redeem himself in the eyes of others (he won’t even go near UNIT, not even when he needs their help, he goes through Sarah Jane instead!), but to become a better person, to stop being a threat, and to heal for his own soul’s sake.

And so he goes from someone who was willing to see the entirety of human history erased, to someone who will risk his life for one person and the fact that that ultimately saves his life always imo comes across as a bit easy if you watch planet of the spiders without this context in mind. But when you do think about where Mike has been, psychologically, from the green death through to planet of the spiders, it doesn’t seem easy at all but actually a significant if understated character moment.

I've been doing a reread of PoF (I felt the call of the Clown Church. Or Heard the Honks of it.) And I have a question I'm curious about (and tried to search for but ~the search function is broken~, so feel free to ignore this) which is: it's mentioned that Karkat gets chucklevoodoos thrown at him a couple times, but it seems to affect him less and less and even the first time he got hit with them he seemed to bounce back fast. Is he somewhat immune to them (whether naturally or through exposure) or does he just stubbornly brute force his way through them? (which he was accidentally doing with his pupation? Lmao. I caught that he was apparently having symptoms of that for months this reread and almost lost my mind. No wonder he just started turning to goo.)

Also I am curious if anyone will ever realize just how many things Gamzee has just, uh, wound up and set into motion; he was the first person to encourage the Schoolfeeder Vantas rumors/perception, he talked to Rishet about Uderak, he set Bastil on Halore. I think it's hilarious and hope he never stops to be honest. (Also Kurloz later encouraging the rumors too because he thinks it'll piss Karkat off. Brother his Ancestor was a preacher, what did you expect?)

Anyways I just wanted to let you know that I love the fic and also The Church and all the Clowns in it. Sorry if this was super rambley.

RE: Karkat, it's six of one and half a dozen of the other! I tend to write seadwellers with very high psionic resistance, and I like to headcanon Karkat as basically the mutant who closes the hemospectrum into a loop. He's hot-blooded and physical small as a lowblood--especially because he grows as slowly as a seadweller. He's got no psionics of his own, like a seadweller, but also is as resistant as they are. He's also just. An incredibly stubborn, determined, angry little dude, and he WILL push through things via brute force especially once he's gotten some experience with them and they can't take him by surprise anymore.

RE: puppetmaster Gamzee, it's a happy accident of him being my main POV character, but I do find it incredibly funny. :D In a world of court intrigue and schemes, the guy who makes friends with people and wanders around asking questions sets a whole lot of shit in motion largely by accident! Not that he thinks he has pretty much any influence or authority. How could he?? He's just a wacky li'l guy! UoU
