in your new fic, is remus also a huge guy? like it seems like a pattern in this fandom that someone who criticizes fem sirius saying writing sirius as fem is heteronormative writes remus small and short just the way they criticized about fem sirius, and i’ve seen you agree on posts criticizing fem sirius so i got curious.

hm. if i have agreed with a post criticizing fem sirius, whatever that post was, the intention behind my agreement was exactly the point you're trying to make. what i don't agree with is people boxing in characters with "this character HAS to be written this way or it's WRONG". I have written Remus as shorter than Sirius, and I have written Remus as taller than Sirius. I have described Remus as being "thick" in that same fic that I described Sirius as having "ample" thighs. I have written Sirius as half-Indian, as Russian. I have written Remus as half-Japanese. The point I'm trying to make is I will not intentionally criticize someone's choice of writing THEIR fic the way THEY want to, but I also don't approve of telling someone they wrote a character INCORRECTLY because it didn't follow "YOUR" idea of what canon should be.

By the way, I wrote a version of Sirius wearing makeup and dresses and thigh-high boots, so if you saw me agreeing with a post that criticized fem sirius, you may have taken that out of context. That fic is called The Only Living Boy in New York if you're interested.

The Curse Of Hope

Danny is in another universe. He had a reason, but he doesn’t remember anymore. He can only stare, horrified and disgusted, at the sickest city spirit he’s ever seen. Shivering and swaying with every step, core exposed, and ectoplasm leaking from wounds that are decades old. A ratty blanket was thrown over their shoulders, barely hiding the spirit’s pale grey skin and protruding black bones.

The spirit didn’t even sense him until he reached out to touch its wispy shoulders. The spirit flinched, clutching at the dozens of trinkets hanging from their neck and tucking in on themselves like they were expecting a blow.

“Oh, shit,” He swore, floating back a few feet, hands in the air, to show he meant no harm. “I’m sorry. I promise, I’m not here to steal from you.” The spirit shivered again and rolled a pearl necklace in between their fingers. A nervous habit. “Uh, I like that pocket watch? It’s very nice.”

That got their attention. They peeked at Danny, and he saw that more tattered cloth was covering their eyes, blending in with the stringy hair that reached the ground. Their blanket fluttered weakly, revealing hundreds of thousands of tiny marks etched into their skin. Scars, really. Scars that wrote out curse after curse onto the spirit’s very being. They burned with evil intent, and even reached inside the spirit’s body and wrapped around their core.

Occasionally, blinding specks of color raced across their body, temporarily erasing the writing, but it always returned quickly. He watched, a little detached, as one particular line rewrote itself across their rough forearm, drawing fresh ectoplasm like someone was writing it with a thin knife.

“Are you…alright?” Danny stuttered. A stupid question.

The spirit cocked its head. He couldn’t see their eyes, but he felt their burning gaze as they pondered the question.

“The pain of others becomes mine own.” They rasped. “The lights of the city dim as rotten wealth clogs mine veins. Magicks long forgotten have eaten mine skins, pulled mine cloak, and darkened mine skies. Helios has refused to grace mine doorstep, and the seasons of the Earth have revoked their kindness.”

Danny held his breath. It felt like he was the one with the exposed core, not the spirit.

The spirit shivered once more. “Tell mine soul, little lamb. How could this Forsaken City know peace, when it was long since ripped from mine hands?”

Shit, he needed Frostbite. And maybe Clockwork. Now.

Danny meets the spirit of Gotham City. The villains and rogues that have plagued the city for decades are literal curses that are taking quite the toll on Gotham, and honestly, Danny isn’t sure how much longer they can hold out. The heroes seem to be doing some help, and are probably the reason Gotham made it this far, but the poor city needs help from the Realms if they want to get better.

Luckily, Danny can provide that help.

But only if he could get Gotham to leave their city behind. Because recovery is going to take a very long time.

I've just realized that with the art I did for the Possessed Doll Au by @phoenixcatch7 , like the designs and such?

It kind of implies that Bruce's doll is like 7 or 8 feet tall, since the others range between 4 and 5 feet (as is the average for children). Or taller if you count the ears too.

I mean, I guess it gives the kids more space to hide in the cloak and wherever else lol

General Hermitcraft/Character design lore: All Hermits are a block/attribute/mob of sorts. They have a connection to it, either by history, gameplay or fandom-related associations.

Just to what's related in the comic:

- Etho's part sand with a little redstone.

- Bdubs is connected to the sun. (He dislikes the night because he looks so out of place. Not glowing nor causing shadows but as if he's still existing in daylight despite the lack of sun. His shadows are weird since it's connected to the sun's position at night.

Headcanon's operating in the comic:

- Every apparel Etho has on, if he travels by Sand TP, It takes on his hunger stats/bar. Small accessories take 1 hunger, Larg apparel takes 2 and depending on what's in his inventory (The bag) at minimum, it takes 1 hunger. There's 20 hunger in total.

- Bdub's moss coat is his inventory.

- W/out the bag/coat, Bdubs and Etho can only access what's in their hotbar. (These are magical. They only appear once the hermits start accumulating more than their hotbar. But they don't re-spawn or magnetically connect back to the hermit if removed.)

The dialogue on the sketched/ideated pages after 8 is:

Bdubs flies to spawn. Sees the sand puddle. Angrily throws one (1) golden carrot to it.

The sand puddle eats the carrot and slowy up comes Etho.

E > Thanks Bdubs! I guess even with a head start you're still faster than me. Oh well. Better luck next time.

B > SHUT UP!

Etho and Bdubs make eye contact. They laugh becasue oh gooness that was hectic what-

okay this is a bit late sorry BUT here's your answers ( a bit out of order)

so Pom and Micheal met in middle school, they got put together for a school assignment and have been friends since. They met Matt in high school, they were sitting alone at lunch and Matt kinda just showed up one day and started talking to them. their dynamic is hard to describe (mostly because I cannot describe things for shit) but Matt and Pom are the biggest talkers of the group, Pom is the main planner, Micheal is off to the side not in a bad way. Its not that they talk too much or don't let him get a word in he's just quiet. He prefers to listen to a conversation more than be apart of it, just being there. Even if he doesn't look like hes paying attention he is. Just don't get him started on mushrooms, snakes, or welding, he does a complete 180 and will not shut up.

Micheal has 3 pet rats actually! I plan to draw them eventually

Micheal jr. often shortened to just junior (named because he has little black patches of fur and Matt gave Micheal the idea as a joke and he went with it)

the others don't have pets but Matt would probably have a turtle or some kind of lizard. Pom isn't really a pet person but probably a cat, which despite his claims of not wanting a pet he would absolutely spoil that thing.

music tastes is kinda hard because I absolutely do not know my genres that well. but ill do my best

Matt has multiple playlists for different moods and genre's vary but his main three playlists are a bunch of circus music, the world revolving added to the same playlist over 100x, and the misc playlist with 100 songs that do not match eachothers vibe at all. some artists I think he would listen to: 100 gecs, Insane Clown Posse,and Lemon Demon

Pom has one main playlist she dumps all her favorite songs into. but its a majority death metal some artists i think he would listen to: Scene Queen, Bear Ghost, Mother Mother, Black Dresses, Korn, and Necrogoblikon

Matt, I honestly have no idea other than its mostly My Chemical Romance I did make him a playlist (wip) on a whim tho because I was bored
