alright I’m like on episode 40-something of yugioh sevens and I think I’ve identified why I hate it and while there are multiple reasons, it solely comes down to the main character, Yuga Ohdo.

I don’t like to use the word Mary Sue as a criticism for characters but legitimately this is the only word I can find to describe him. Yuga at the start tries to mod his Duel Disk to integrate rush dueling because he feels the current rules are too strict (which they aren’t.. what) and while that’s all well and good, he pretty much forces everyone else to adapt and use that play style as well. He’s surprised that Goha wants to take him down for essentially hijacking all of their equipment which will probably lose them millions of dollars if they don’t fix it, and Yuga thinks it’s alright to just be a selfish asshole and get in the way of a company who has a somewhat reasonable goal.

Also Yuga.. is just a nothing character in general. His personality is “nice boy who also likes to invent things” and i wish, I WISH the last thing was used more. Most of the time it’s forgotten or just disregarded until it needs to be brought up again for plot convenience (Ex: his meeting with Asana or him trying to defeat Neil/Nail). Additionally, I notice he just. Cheats very blatently?? Sure, Yugi cheated but he had the excuse of being conceptualized before the TCG rules were finalized. For example, Yuga literally rewriting the data of his friends cards just to make super charged up cards to win against Nail. They even bring it up IN THE SHOW that he cheats but nothing is done about it, and whenever he’s in a pinch he just pulls cards out of his ass because he’s Yuga Ohdo and can’t lose.

Finally, him being the “chosen one” is Mary Sue bullshit and I will not apologize for saying so.

I would love to rewrite the series one day where Yuga is a college student who struggles with what he wants to be and how he never wanted to be the King of Duels. But alas, that is for another day.

Gordon has a new detective, freshly transferred to his department, who Will Not Stop Making Death Puns

And he's about ready to commit murder.

The man is very, very good at his job. He seems to stumble across evidence without realizing what he's doing, and freaks out suspects at interrogation tables by bringing up crap his wife and husband do that perfectly mirrors the suspect's story, and then points out the inconsistencies.

He is quickly becoming the most hated man in the department, in terms of who criminals hate.

Great news, Gordon's 100% sure he isn't corrupted.

Bad news, Gordon's 100% sure of that because he keeps easily outing corrupted cops with an ease that makes Gordon feel like he's been wasting time all these years.

So when Batman pisses Gordon off just a little too much, goes over his head one too many times, Gordon decides "fuck it, he get's to deal with Detective Daniel Foley."

But as he's walking away, as Foley starts to hand over the files, he hears the most Dreaded Phrase that man can ever say.

"Ya know, my wife-"

Basically Danny is married to Sam and Tucker, both he and Sam took Tucker's last name, and Danny is a modern Columbo.

Only he speaks to ghosts for easy cheat codes to evidence.

so from what i can tell in your h.c's lucy gray, very understandably, starts off cold to coriolanus when they go to the capitol (shocker, girls don't like getting shot) is there ever a specific turning point where they sorta have a new normal (by their standards) and if so do you have a hc of that moment

I think that would only happen once LG sees the twins actually somewhat enjoy/get used to living in the capitol? Maybe its like a lightbulb moment for LG, her kids aren’t fighting over food anymore when they think she can’t see them, (tangent but,, I definitely don’t want the kids to come across as selfish(?) but they’re kids, they’re hungry n underfed, and its natural to fight over stuff w ur sibling. They know their mom does her absolute best so they try not to fight in front of her, but it must’ve absolutely broken LG’s heart when she first saw them fight esp over food. Prob also the first time she cracks n thinks maybe reaching out to CS wouldn’t be so bad, ofc she immediately dismisses those thoughts) they’re warm, and safe n under the protection of the most powerful person in panem. LG realizes she can’t keep believing that the capitol is the worst thing that could happen to her kids when she sees them so happy. Maybe it’s after they come back from their first day of school, it’s a 180 from when she sent them off, both kids were terrified and clinging to her skirt. If it weren’t for CS, she might’ve taken them right back into her arms and gone home with them, but when the twins come back after school all excited and animatedly talking over each other to tell CS n LG abt their day, LG feels relief and grief at the same time. Her twins were fine but now she knows their happiness means she can never escape CS or the capitol.

I think CS clocks this n finds it so amusing. Maybe he picks up the kids in his arms (for visual ref look at my fan art of CS carrying Maude ivory lawl) all while keeping eye contact w LG, only breaking eye contact to face each twin n tells them “slow down, one at a time so ur mother can hear you, right LG?” Or do u think he’d call her a nickname 👁️👄👁️

When I'm watching a show/movie or reading a book, I have this thing called the Sam and Dean Test where I try to figure out whether, if one character died, the other would sell their soul to hell to get the other one back. Passing the Sam and Dean Test means that the characters would sell their souls to hell to get the other back.

Anyways, I'm 100% sure that Starsky and Hutch pass the Sam and Dean Test.

Personally, I feel everyone even Jane Austen herself is a tad bit mean when it comes to the character of Mrs. Bennet and should shift some on that to Mr. Bennet. Like yes she's a silly, neurotic woman but can u like blame her?

Her husband failed to do anything for their children. He stopped being involved in their education probably around Mary's childhood, did not save or plan for the future of FIVE women at all, and not only that he's so unbothered by ANYTHING at all like Mr. Collins - the heir to his estate and fortune - stops by and he doesn't even tell his family?????? until he's about to arrive?????? Not only that it's kind of cruel the way he does it like haha u guys know how yall are women so u don't inherit shit? well, the dude that can come and turn u all out on ur asses - which is mostly my fault bc i didn't do shit to make sure u all are provided for once I'm gone - is about to arrive so hehe.

Like in what other way is Mrs. Bennet supposed to behave in that era where her daughter's futures were entirely dependent on the wealth of the man they marry. And honestly, i think Mrs. Bennet was almost too kind to Mr. Bennet I'd have been very bitter knowing that even tho we tried for a son - hence all the daughters - he still did nothing to ensure their financial security. Like these girls could have ended up destitute and it'd be entirely his fault. I always saw Mrs. Bennet as a mother who was just trying to do the best she could to look out for her daughters given the circumstances.
