“AT LEAST YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE YOUR N.E.W.T.s NOW,” Wonwoo tried to console you while you two were walking to your Defense Against the Dark Arts class. “Charms is gonna kick my ass this year.”

Due to the strenuous challenge the tournament offered, testing your strength, courage, intelligence, and resourcefulness, the champions were exempt from exams. You figured it was because being a Triwizard champion was far more valuable than getting Outstanding scores on your end-of-year tests.

You snorted. “I’m still taking them.”

“But you don’t have to,” he said with a disapproving frown. “You should really be taking the tournament seriously, Y/N. People have died doing these tasks.”

“I just don’t understand how my name ended up in the Goblet of Fire,” you muttered. “I tried to explain that I didn’t put my name in, but they just told me that rules are rules. I have no choice now that I’ve been selected.”

“Just… make it through alive, will you? Don’t get yourself killed over eternal glory.”

“I don’t even care about eternal glory,” you whined. “Eternal glory isn’t gonna get me five N.E.W.T.s to get into the Auror recruitment program.” 

“I doubt you’d need five N.E.W.T.s if you won.”

“You’re generous for thinking I have a chance against Seungcheol and Joohyun.”

When you opened the door to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, you nearly groaned out loud once everyone’s eyes landed on you. A lot of talk had been going around about you being Hogwarts’ champion, and the attention wasn’t all that great. Some of the support was nice, but plenty of people had been betting on your loss and talking smack about how the Goblet of Fire should’ve chosen a better representative.

The only one in your class who appeared as though they couldn’t care less about you was Boo Seungkwan, a Slytherin who you couldn’t stand since your first year. You two got off on the wrong foot right off the bat, with you accidentally spilling ink all over Seungkwan’s new textbooks and him talking down to you for the rest of the year. It was a trivial thing to hold a grudge over, but as you two got more and more hostile toward each other over the years, you eventually just realized that you and Seungkwan weren’t meant to get along. 

You two hated each other so much that in your third year, you sent each other Howlers back-and-forth until a professor had to intervene. Apparently, screaming at each other through Owl Post was going too far, especially when the Howlers started arriving in the middle of classes.

Your dislike for him grew even more when he was picked as Head Boy for Slytherin. Although you had no qualms about the Head Girl chosen for the Ravenclaw house, you were still bitter that Seungkwan was effortlessly getting the opportunities that were always just out of your grasp.

Wonwoo grimaced once he took a look at the board. Apparently, you were graced with the pleasure of sitting next to the bane of your existence today.

“Think you can get through a class without killing Seungkwan?” he asked, squinting to make out who he was sitting next to.

“I think I have a better chance at winning the Triwizard Tournament.”

Wonwoo laughed, even though you were dead serious.

When you got to your table with Seungkwan, you did your best to avoid eye contact. You shrugged off your book bag and sank back into your seat without another word. Maybe if you tried hard enough, you could forget he even existed. 

“Your arm’s in my table space, champ,” he started, and although you tried to resist, your head shot up to see what the hell he was talking about. You rolled your eyes when you noticed Seungkwan pointing at your sleeve, which was barely on his side of the table. You moved your arm without another word. “Anyway, I didn’t think you’d be the kind of person to put your name in the cup.”

“You must know me so well, huh?” you sneered. “And, for your information, I didn’t put my name in the cup.”

Seungkwan stared at you with a strange look in his eyes before shaking his head. “You’re ridiculous.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” you asked, growing defensive. You didn’t mean to raise your voice, but you quieted down after a few stares from other classmates.

He scoffed. “Take some accountability, Y/N. I literally saw you put your name in.”

You seized up. There was no reason for Seungkwan to lie, but you couldn’t fully believe that he actually saw you putting your name in the Goblet of Fire. You nearly started questioning whether you had been sleepwalking or something, but you were positive that you slept peacefully throughout the night. There was no rational explanation as to how you entered yourself into the tournament.

“Are you serious?” You turned around in your seat to face the Slytherin, nonplussed. “You saw me? You’re positive it was me?”

“Yeah? I know an idiot when I see one, you know?”

“Takes one to know one, I guess.”

Seungkwan shook his head at you. “You better have a plan to win. It's gonna be humiliating for us if you die out there.”

“Gee, thanks,” you replied bitterly. Your voice teetered on nervousness when you asked, “When did you see me put my name in the cup? Honest to God, I didn't do it, Seungkwan. You know I wouldn't.”

Even aside from Wonwoo, who looked at you skeptically after your name was called, you knew that Seungkwan saw right through you. He knew that you didn't have the guts to enter your name into the tournament. By no means did you consider yourself brave, and the Slytherin knew that quite well.

He looked at you strangely. “Last night. I was debating entering myself before I saw you.”

Before you could press him to elaborate, Yoon Jeonghan made a show of dragging his chair out from under the table that was in front of yours and Seungkwan’s, eyes locked on you as he did. He was one of the most popular wizards in your year with his charming looks and brilliant wit. He was sweet and friendly on paper, but he was notorious for dating around. You were pretty sure you saw him with a new girl every other month. Although he was one of Seungkwan’s best friends, you found him to be far more amiable. 

You pressed your lips into a thin line. Jeonghan was who everyone was expecting to get picked for the tournament. He was definitely more capable than you, and he posed a threat to both Seungcheol and Joohyun with his abilities. You were sure he would sweep the competition if he was selected as champion.

“There’s our champion,” he greeted with a crooked grin. “You’re gonna win for us, right?”

“Uh.” You paused. “No promises, Jeonghan.”

“Hey.” He lowered his voice to hardly a mutter, a playful grin on his face as he leaned in close. “You know my dad’s Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, right? Just say the word and I’ll find out what the first task is for you.”

“Isn’t that cheating?” you asked.

“Think about it this way: Durmstrang won’t stop at anything to make sure Seungcheol wins, and Joohyun half-Veela. She just has to bat her eyes at someone and they’ll cough up any information they have on the tournament for her.”

Seungkwan scoffed. “Jeonghan, you’re being careless. What happens when your dad finds out you’re helping the champion cheat?”

“Lighten up, Kwan. There hasn’t been a champion for centuries who hasn’t bent the rules a little.”

You swallowed hard. Surely, it wouldn’t hurt to accept Jeonghan’s help. After all, Wonwoo told you that Seungcheol and Joohyun would be using their resources to figure out tactics to go about their tasks. It would be no surprise if they had already found out what the first task required. If you had someone like Jeonghan on your side to help you, then you would’ve been stupid not to accept his assistance. 

Rules were one thing, but the entire school was counting on you to represent Hogwarts. You couldn’t make a fool out of yourself when the time came. 

“Well, if you happen to find out,” you told Jeonghan, “then I wouldn’t be opposed to hearing what the task is.”

He winked at you. “Just give me a day or two.”

2024 April Fool's Day art for My S-Class Hunters by 비완

The manhwa artist for My S-Class Hunters made some April Fool's Day art: "This year's April Fool's Day, the S-Class turned back time too much." The head of storyboarding for the manhwa, serikachan, explained the different animal choices in this thread:

Machine English translation: "Have a good April Fool's Day! Seong Hyun-je is the world's strongest character at the time of the story, so he naturally became a Tyrannosaurus. Biwan: I need to put three conditions on Yujin, so I need three fingers. ??? : Oh shit!!! This is an Allosaurus!!!

Yoohyeon is Dimetrodon. Dimetrodon looks like a dinosaur, but it is not actually a dinosaur. It often appears as a fire attribute in other media (Hellfire Dimetrodon in WoW too…), so I thought it would be the best fit. At first I thought it was Charmander, but I couldn't tell it apart from Irene. [laughing face emoji]

Yerim was torn between Spinosaurus, which is very strong and lived a semi-aquatic life, and Plesiosaurus, a plesiosaur, but went with the latter for a more intuitive visual.

In many works, Spinosaurus and Tyrannosaurus are often paired 1:1, so I thought about having Director Song, who is currently fighting Hyeonje in the free game, take on the role of Spinosaurus, but I needed a dinosaur that would give a presence in the distance, so I decided on Brachiosaurus. It is done. Chew the lettuce well and enjoy the huge brachio song director…

Hyuna is a triceratops. The horns remind me of a giant spear, and while I was looking for information, I saw several Triceratops taking up a defense position, and it really suited Hyuna's situation in the early stages of her awakening. It had three horns and somehow even raised a spear with its front paws, making it an even more powerful and kingly aceratops.

Noah chose Pteranodon, a representative pterosaur, and Riet chose Deinosuchus, which is said to eat dinosaurs. It looked so natural that it seemed like it had been like this from the beginning… I'll be happy if you enjoyed it! I give my love to Biwan, who even drew dinosaurs under a tight deadline. “To never being parted,” Kit said, looking across the campfire at Ty.  Ty’s thin face was limned in light from the red-gold flames. “To never being parted,” he said, with grave emphasis that made Kit shiver for reasons he did not understand.

So, what if there comes a time in the series where Kit and Ty are parted after their roadtrip in TLKOF....but not really? As in, Kit gets swept away into the antics of Faerie while Ty has to deal with the Prince of Hell business because of the necromantic magic that covers him but they both can't stop worrying about the other much more than they actually worry about their own situation. Kit is agonizing over what the necromancy is doing to Ty physically and if anyone could survive a Prince of Hell alone, even a Centurion. Meanwhile, Ty barely registers his own situation (likely in an alternate realm) because the thought of Kit being forced into ruling all of Faerie absolutely tears him to shreds because he knows that Kit deserves to have the life he chooses and he knows Kit would never choose that. I would like to think that at the end of this parting they are both worried about how the other might receive them but in the end they just rush into each others' arms, weak with relief that the other is ok and back with them :)

To being parted yet always finding your way back to each other eventually. To being physically parted by loss, grief, and thousands of miles but stilling being knit together at the soul. To Kit and Ty never truly being parted ❤️

Please know that since yesterday I am mentally trapped in these two panels. There is actually a lot I will miss Krakoa for, but I also felt a bit of resentment throughout the era and this family is a big reason why. NOW that we are in the last stretch of burning it all down and the new X-launch is in reach, we'll get this wedding special. And we finally have all four together in a panel. NOW?! I bought X-Men Unlimited #4 in either fall of '94 or spring '95, solely because of the cover. 30 years of waiting. Let me live in this moment for a bit.

Look at what they are doing with the art! Oh sure, Mystique and Nightcrawler are the blue ones. Pair up Destiny and Rogue next to that to make them look similar enough as well. Only for my brain to scream "but the personalities are the other way around!!!!!!!!". Irene and Kurt work on faith and believe in possibilities and reaching out to be better. Raven and Anna Marie typing this out makes me feel weird are the ones who will kill a bitch and say they will darken their soul so others don't have to. Plus there is the element that they both have lived more than one life and their sense of self is distorted .

They've come a long way, okay?!

Yes this is exactly what it looks like. For plot reasons Nightcrawler was too weak to teleport and dangling off a cliff next to Mystique. And of course Rogue could only save one and before she made a decision Mystique said "I make this for you" and let go. I still like to believe she flipped them the bird when she fell. Because she is Mystique. "HaHa! Take this, you think I'm the worst mother ever, but you will have to live with a moment of nobility from me!" (Also Destiny knew this would come, and she fucking knows there is something good inside of Mystique. It just comes out... different. And needs very specific circumstances.)

Apart from X-Men Evolution (and the X-Men Forever alternate history comic with its very special vibes), we have never gotten any bigger acknowledgement of this family. And Irene has been cut out. Either conveniently on account of being dead, or because she's an old lady and clearly just a gal pal, ahem. (It's also very funny to me to go back to their first appearances, where the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants has the biggest Three Stooges energy ever. I needed Mystique, Destiny, Rogue, Pyro, Blob and Avalanche to have a drinking contest on Krakoa. That is what Krakoa was supposed to be about!! You needed to give us 200% domestic nonsense, fun and games. So it would hurt everybody when it was inevitably taken away. EVERYBODY needed to find happiness in that place in unconventional ways.)

Sadly not my original thought (I don't have those), but recently I read some comment where somebody said that with Irene being his bio-mother, Kurt should have inherited a type of precog-sense, a sorta spidey-sense for teleportation. A natural ability that he won't teleport into an obstacle. And I would be so on board with that. (Also funny, because Ms Marvel had that type of sense and I could pull up panels where Nightcrawler tried to trigger that in Rogue.) Would it be weird to add that now? Sure. But also super cute and helpful.

My deepest gratitude goes out to the fanartists who have doodled and sketched and painted cute family moments for them out of time. Now canon can catch up. Imagine their dinner conversations. N: "Logan is my best friend." M: "Oh, that reminds me there is this blue furball running around with his and my powers. I don't even remember if we ever had sex or not, we're so close in age and have these memory gaps." N: "Mutter, nein!" D: "You should ask him out, you two would make a cute couple. Trust me." R: "You're setting up Nightcrawler with Wolverine and keep giving me grief over Gambit?" M: "He speaks too much French! Wolverine might be Canadian, but at least he's not a Franco-Canadian!" N: "So I couldn't date Northstar?"

Do not get me wrong though. Mystique and Destiny are horrible people and they will stab others in the back. They have worked for the government, they have plotted assassinations of government people. They have fought alongside and against the X-Men. I don't want them tamed or be reasonable. I want their mess. I want them as anti-villains. Because they don't do heinous things for nothing. They like to create less horrible murder events than what could be... some writers just liked to go overboard with the scheming and forgot the sympathic undertones, which I want to cling to. And we deserved a time of peace on Krakoa. Truly imagine a Mystique who was happy on Krakoa. And the absolut batshit villainous energy when it's burned down against her will... now THAT would have been something. Instead of baking resentment into the foundation.

As Joanna said in an interview, a model in a some Parisian art studio around 1920 in Paris (France) is one of the inspirations for the HOOM cover photo. Sarah Brenardt as we alrady seen, was having an interior appartement that looks quite the same than HOOM cover. Of cours I don't made that previous post by chance, as a longtime admirer of the art of Alphonse Mucha, I alredy knew those two were linked. Mucha becomes an overnight sensation after making an art poster of Sarah Bernardt. There was a lot of creativity in the air on the turnnig of 1900, and the czech artist, with a niew way of making print images, kind of invented the "Art Nouveau". This art and decoration mouvement, can't be credited to a single man. But many Art History books mensions this Sarah Bernardt depiction as a big step in the forming of that eurpean (and than worldwild) art mouvement. The theater actress was alredy famous, she became friend with him, and he made many portraits of her as well as theater posters for the plays in wich she was staring. Preparing this post, I was planing to show all the known images that the painter made of her. Than I noticed quite a magical detail… In three specifics prints of her, there is the exacts same stars that are painted in the background of HOOM!

So here we are, with the stars of Sarah Bernardt, side by side, with the stars of Joanna Newsom.

Bonus time: The print that made Mucha famous was added, this is the afiche of the play "Gismonda" au théatre de la renaissance. I also put phtographs of her with the gigantic lily tiara that Mucha designed for her. We can see that she was wearing it in posing for one of the stars images, as well as for two others prints of her. The jewel artwork was made by René Lalique, an other famous art nouveau artist (know for his jewelry, than decades later, for his "art déco" glass work). As far as I know, the theme for the wedding of Joanna Newsom was (among other things) the czech art nouveau period. For the occasion, Irene Neuwirth made for her a special golden tiara, that featured flowers made of opals . Is that possible that Alphonse Mucha and Sarah Bernardt, throug oceans of times, gives her the idea of having as special flowered crown made just for her on that special occasion? I think its possible.

The thing is Lolicia's character development need to be widely open like a cracked egg for their relationship to start for real. I think... I THINK their relationship will be a based on a FromSoftware 3 phases boss 🤣

Also, you will not believe it but I have something for Serenity too, because you said she is scared of the sea and the dark and its kinda Lolicia things and I wanted to help her deal with her phobias ? And it would be an interesting short healing trauma/cute/deep relationship but it is very difference from a full romance with Constantine.

And Constantine deep friendship with Serenity could be healing to her fear of abandonment or being alone. Because even if she loves her dad, she would take time to open her heart again because she is afraid to lose Alastor abruptly again (logically)

I don't know, what do you think ? It could be interesting to work with. I'm sorry I like complexity to things ahah.

I love it when she is about to die and then she heard the phone moan notification and look at the side. And then she saw Sherlock like "Girl, I'm saving you". So brave. Mycroft really said "she's dead forget it" and Sherlock took immediately a plane ticket to save her.

I like her in the movies too. I mean he let her do things he never will with others but I'm not even sure he realised it. Mycroft did realised that Irene has a full diamond room in Sherlock mind palace ahah

And this looks like a great idea! Serenity is afraid of that feeling of unknown, helplessness and darkness in the sea. Lolicia is seriously a character who can help her get through this It would be very interesting to see the interaction of the two.I think they will have a nice dynamic!

And yes, Serenity never wanted to talk about what she went through after he died.Alastor doesn't know much about her and their lives were different.Serenity's experiences here are a bit similar to Constantine's, so a friendship would normally develop between the two. It was nice to read where the people in the hotel were preparing for the show.The parts where Charlie convinced the team were great!

First of all, I want to talk about the narrator.HE'S AWESOME. I loved his design, his personality, his dialoges, all of them! I seriously think he is a very creative character! Draw him at the first opportunity

Now let's get to the songs.Husk and Angel's duet was simply amazing! I loved the dialogues, the descriptions of the characters were very nice and it was a really cute and well thought out scene, in one word, it was wonderful!

Seriously, it was great to read the song and witness the thoughts of the characters.

Apart from that, I also loved the conversations of Lolicia and Al backstage!It's a really cute detail that Vittori and Alastor's shadow are constantly having little cat and dog fights with each other.

And Alastor and Charlie's duet.It was seriously perfect The characters finish each other's words, literally fight with words, and on the other hand, Charlie does not fall under Alastor and shows herself with determination, and finally makes Alastor say what she wants.

It was perfect!The movements of the characters while singing the dialogues were described really well.And I was seriously smiling while reading it, it was a truly magnificent scene.I would even pay money to see this scene in animated form!

And seriously the way you describe the scene is Alastor's movements On the other hand, it was great how the scene changed color as Charlie stepped forward.At the end, when Charlie makes Alastor say that he trusts her.Alastor's reaction was also very nice!

And in the final part, it was great to see Charlie stretching her chest and talking to the crowd, and Precious supporting him as a friend!You are truly an amazing writer!

A Rare Marble Carving Depicting Twins Goes on Display

Years after a rare Greek marble was discovered, the unique find is finally on display for the world to see.

In November 2008, a man went to the National Archaeological Museum with a bundle of cloth, the museum said in a March 22 news release.

He said he was a shell collector and discovered the bundle while rooting around a stream in Menidi, on the west coast of Greece.

Archaeologists took the bundle, made from old clothes, and found a fragment of a marble carving inside, the museum said.

The archaeologists were surprised by the depiction, according to the museum.

The carving showed two babies wrapped in the arms of a woman, a rare type of funerary stele.

The funerary stele, carvings associated with tombs and headstones, likely belonged to a woman who died during childbirth, the museum said. The babies, twins in the same arms, represented their shared fate as orphans, according to the archaeologists.

The marble section would have been part of a larger image showing the mother, the museum said.

The discovery is likely from the 4th century B.C., museum archaeologists said, and it is the only known surviving stele to depict twins.

The imagery of twins in Ancient Greek art itself, however, is not rare, Heritage Daily reported. Leto, the mother of twins Artemis and Apollo, is often used as a symbol of motherhood and a maternal goddess in images with her children.

The stele is now on display as part of a larger museum collection, called the Unseen Museum.

The museum said the exhibit “brings to the fore antiquities stored in its vaults, away from the visitor’s eyes,” according to the release.

The exhibit runs until May 13 in Athens, Greece.

Someone has already said this on one of my Granada Holmes posts, but I completely agree that one of the main reasons Holmes admires Irene Adler is because of her involvement in the arts, especially music.

Irene is an opera singer. In many instances, we have seen Holmes go to and enjoy the opera. While she has retired from the stage, she still sings in her free time and she occasionally stars in productions.

She was also an actor. It has been said by various people in Holmes' life that he would've made a brilliant actor due to his mastery of disguise and his ability to play into the characters he's created from these disguises (Escott the Plumber for example is rather shabby-looking, with an accent much different from his own).

As I've mentioned before, another reason for Holmes' admiration is because of her ultimately outsmarting him in the climax of A Scandal in Bohemia. It is very rare that Holmes is ever outsmarted by anybody, but it is even more surprising that it was a woman. This is due to the fact that Holmes had some rather outdated and derogatory views of women, which Irene Adler ends up completely uprooting and changing. The title that he gives her, 'The Woman', emphasises that fact. He places her above the rest of her sex.

That being said, I don't believe Holmes had any romantic feelings for Adler. But I do think he liked that she shared his interests and that he was incredibly impressed by her intelligence.

After all, while subtle, I think it's pretty damn obvious that Watson is Holmes soulmate; romantic or platonic.

It was nice to spend more time with Irene but the day grew late and left me with Pascal who was at this time making love to his treadmill once again. I decided to bother him and annoy him a little because why not? He was having none of it though and decided to use the art of telling corny jokes to fend me off. 

"Why did the striker bring string to the game?" he asked. I froze in pure fear of what the answer might be, pleading with a look for him to not continue. "He wanted to tie the game!"

I cringe, already throwing in the white flag. "Okay Pascal, I don't-”

"How does a player stay cool during the game?"

"Water?"

"No, they stand near the fans!" He said, jubilant, as if he had scored a championship winning goal.

"Why does-"

"Noope! You enjoy your workout!" I get out of there just in time.

I should probably be sleeping or even talking about Murder Drones but i have a lot of different topics stuck in my mind

So um yeah, since Ein is included in the banner art for the upcoming new season of Mystreet. Got something on my mind.

Still. Still to this day.

I have no clue how to think about Ein and Aphmau. In the mystreet universe, not irl or the current aph content worlds.

Spoilers for a bunch of stuff in the roleplay

I still have memories when they were going to be half siblings because i think they wanted to retcon the old rushed plot of Ein, but which happened to include him liking Aph romantically. So they back tracked that into not being a thing since most of the Emerald Secret stuff for everyone else was still a big part of the story. And it would clearly be uncomfortable.

But I really like the potential of them as half siblings WITH it of course retconning the story around Ein alone. They said quite a bit how they didn't like his motiviation in Emerald Secret and wanted it to just be better!

Give me the plot of him being a little experimant for all potion things Micheal was gonna do later on. Make him a forced helper for the devil to hurt everyone he cared about to make him TRAGIC.

Or maybe just simply the "liking" for aphmau be sibling love and just remove the romatic parts of the story? Get rid of Aphmau's pretty outfit and let her keep the normal one when she's under a potion, make it so that Ein wanted his family to be just like him and that's why he wants Aph as a werewolf like him.

WE HAD A LOT OF COOL STORIES TO TRY IF THEY COMMITED TO THE RETCON AND JUST ACTUALLY TRIED TO REMAKE OLD PARTS OF OLD EPISODES TO GO WITH IT. Not even whole episodes, just some scenes maybe?!

Honestly I just want a reason for why his eyes are grey, when it was shown with Travis that his own eyes TURNED grey when Micheal was started to affect his body. Did the same happened to Ein as a really young kid?

Does Michial and Irene's interactions have something to do with how Ein interacts with Aph since Ein seemed like a huge part of Micheals plans before using Travis? That's one's a strech but it never left my mind 5 years ago
