I don't know if this was intended but Hawks killing Twice and that plotline moving on, and then showing X-less just stare at Shigaraki as he starts moving and then the mass destruction and death he causes from there is actually kind of cool

Kira Is Near's Watari AU
Tumblr media
"Light Yagami is 17 years old when he stumbles on a cursed notebook and begins committing his first unwilling murders.
Nate River is 6 years old when he discovers a bounty of 30 million dollars on the supposedly normal and respectable son of the Chief of the NPA.
These two facts somehow end up in Light Yagami shot in half a dozen places in a dirty warehouse a week later, Near dragging his body out of there, and both simultaneously disappearing into thin air.
Well, at least until six years later, when criminals begin dying in the masses from heart attacks. With a new Death Note user on the loose, Detective Near and his capable butler and caretaker, Kira, are on the case.
With tensions high between them and the NPA, Near and Light will be forced to confront just what happened that week, half a decade ago.
OR, my Kira is Near's Watari AU"
(Taken from a draft summary of a 5 part WIP fic)
-
So, I've read Noel Verse (TzviaAriella) and Pale Moon (KaedeRavensdale) on Ao3, watched some Black Butler, among some other fanfic, pinterest fanart, and more media with Butlery themes... and now I've got some serious brain rot.
I mean, like, the aesthetic is amazing. And it's doubly hilarious if L and Watari ever meet Near and Kira in this universe because they're total and complete opposites. Visually wise, at least, with Near's white motif and Light's signature beige suits with a splash of red with his tie, their workspace always very modern and minimal. Then Watari's cloaked in all black with L being... L, surrounded by more of an old money setting. Opposite spectrums of ridiculous. Especially if the task force meets these two detective teams and they'd just be... so incredulous. And the angst of Light and Soichiro reuniting.
Also, just the idea of genius, perfect, most promising student of Japan, Light Yagami, showing back up as a butler/caretaker/spy/hitman working for the mysterious yet infamous Detective Near. Only for that detective to turn out to be a 12 year old kid playing with his toys, who Light seriously treats as his boss without an ounce of irony. Everyone just gets more dumbfounded once said kid starts pulling genius deductions out of thin air and controlling black ops. While Light is sent either on said black ops, or to get a certain toy set for Near. No in between.
I imagine Light would still very much have blood on his hands, willing and unwilling, and would be loyal to Near and unwilling to part with him. Partly out of his own self interests and partly out of a genuine sense of repaying the debt for saving his life. Meanwhile, Near is content to have someone reliable on his side who doesn't underestimate him or treat him any differently for his age, nor intends to use him for another agenda. Whatever Near asks, Light does.
And maybe, just maybe, there would be hints of some other influence. Something ingrained in them, not quite dreams nor memories, that draw the two together. But surely this is the first time they've done all this?
-
Alright, is that enough ranting about a fic I probably don't have time to write? Yeah, I think so. XD
Oh well, at least I got to make these doodles today. :)

Yandere Miles Prower [Where Was My Hero] Headcanons
Miles “Tails” Prower x Reader
Yandere Headcanons
Tumblr media
Author’s note : Good afternoon, Nonnie~! You’re in luck, I’ve been having immense brainrot about these two for the past month or so, because of this I’m willing to write for the both of them in separate posts.
We’ll start with Miles from Where Was My Hero? due to him being the first when it comes to the villain Tails concept. He also feels a whole lot more personal on my end, so that’s why =}
Yandere Nine + Differences ➷
WWMH Tails/Reader [Romantic]
+Slight Nine x Reader in bonus section [Romantic//platonic]
[Gender-neutral Darling|Female Darling|Male Darling]
Potential ⚠️TWs ⚠️ :
Possessive+Predatory behaviour • Sadistic behaviour [Not directed torwards darling] • Cunning characteristics • Descriptions of intense bullying • Delusions • Co-dependency • Implications torwards mass murder • Suicidal implication • stalking • Abuse of power
◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘◙◘
This version of the Miles we all love and adore has been a very ... Ill-treated character. He’s been met with uncountable variants of both harassment and bullying, having him shown specifically being pushed around a lot by his persecutors. Other examples being his work getting destroyed to bits, nasty stares being given, insults being thrown left and right when given his presence, and pretty much just tormenting the poor thing to no end, for absolutely no reason nonetheless. The invalid reasonings and arrogant choices having turned his life into a living hell for the longest time. Yet even so, he still remained to be a sweet and gentle soul, but all it took was one last hit to completely push him over the edge.
You could have met the fox throughout his youth or perhaps even through adulthood, but that wouldn’t change anything within the unnatural behaviours the mobian would indicate torwards you in particular. Though there would certainly be quite the difference in both states when it comes to how his emotions seem to appear, the potential for yandere characteristics have always been there. And pushing him to that condition wouldn’t even be too difficult in itself, it honestly only requiring holding the bare minimum of decent behaviours. But as mentioned before, there will definitely still remain a few important changes out there in both his habits and mannerisms to take note of when describing the specific ageing state of his.
For example; there should be noted that he’d be one to fall a whole lot quicker at a younger age, the immense shock yet immediate admiration already glowing in his eyes right off the bat when you do as much as defend him from the bystanders’ ridicule. Even just not looking down upon him like any other he has crossed paths with can already make the fox completely smitten with ease, almost making the fox cling to you like it’s the only bit of life support left for him. His adoration is also one to grow rather quickly over time, inserting his obsessive streaks who are slowly starting to find themselves into both of your lives right off the bat. Young Miles isn’t necessarily one to stand to violence at any early points, but that really does not mean he’s not capable of it if it fits his desires. But for now on, he’d much rather prefer to just let you do whatever you want to him, and perhaps acts on the unsavoury side that include watching you from afar and collect any of the potential items you may leave behind right for the taking, having no realisation over the fact how creepy his ways truly are, despite how much his delusions may try to convince him otherwise. Other than the stalker-ish tactics he may hold, he couldn’t really be considered harmful torwards his darling in any way, but it’s rather his own stability and the safety of anyone around which is put at intense risk.
Where the real threat comes in is how he’d quite literally do anything his beloved asks of him, and while these may just be small and innocent gestures, this could also include those who could be considered dangerous or even meant as ill-intented. If his darling is one to be the manipulative type, it’s only then when real victims start to appear. It unquestionably confirming the fact that he’d really be just as dependent on you as the original Tails Prower would, and while Miles may have been identical to him at some point, you’d be able to notice how careless he actually grows torwards any other life over time. Starting to view them as lack of priority and instead just wanting to concentrate on the goal of keeping you satisfied with him.
When he became an adult, however ... He is described to have straight up become a sadistic, uncaring and perhaps even considered detached mobian right after the accident; being robbed of all emotion and feelings zero remorse for any other being out there in a way of advancing the little bird that had lost its life for his sake. The most fitting way to directly say it would just be saying that he’s apathetic; apathetic torwards any life around his own. Though I don’t believe that to be entirely true. Not for this case, at least. As right on the other hand, when having met him around the matured years of his, he’d fall harder than his younger self, but he seems to have trouble showcasing this; while clearly being more gentle with his darling in indirect mannerisms, he’d unfortunately still remain rather dispassionate when it comes to their affectionate demeanour showing, the fear of both betrayal and slight distrust in their genuineness holding him back, much like it would with Nine aswell.
But unlike Nine, Miles could be considered to be a whole lot more low-key; operating as a cold and calculated mobian and usually keeping to himself in order to keep his schemes under control, where Nine instead has no hidden motives to concentrate on. Miles’ behaviour would very much symbolise that of a chess player; gaining the upper hand and power through manipulation and being more patient in the category than Nine is. Another thing that should be mentioned is how you can barely even read the fox’ facial expressions and body language, it almost seeming as if it has been plastered into a mere poker face on the daily, making it difficult to keep up with any plans and tricks he might have up his sleeve.
Another thing I’d wish to concentrate on is how forceful and cunning he can become in his position of power when the darling is one to be disobedient. Though never wishing to cause any physical harm onto his darling, and absolutely demolishing anything and everyone that manages to even lay a finger on them; I can however see him enjoying the idea of toying with them. May that be through small tactics that could affect you emotionally or overall just playing with your desire for escaping, even if he has made it very obvious that leaving isn’t even an option for you anymore. He’d likely be one to get your hopes up, only to crumble all of it into bits at the last second. Much like the adjustments he’s made on his own self over the years, specifically the spider-like antennae on his back would also be something that could definitely describe the fox and his characteristics. When you manage to find your way into his heart, there’s unquestionably no getting out of it. This part of the dynamic could very much resemble the prey and predator trope, much like being stuck in the web of the insect itself.
Having worked himself up to an incredibly high rank, he’s most certainly going to take you in with or without your consent. It’s not like he doesn’t care about your feelings and boundaries, but he believes other topics to be prime concern, especially when being very well aware of the fact that it’s quite the opposite of safe out there. All he’s doing it for is in order to keep you secure and sheltered-! Yeah... Atleast, that’s what he tells himself. When realistically, hidden somewhere in the back of his head, it’s much closer to keeping the core that keeps his mental state stable locked up for his own stability. Even as he got older, the only real things who’d ever treated him decently being his machinery creations aside from-well-- you. But he’d never be able to admit to himself that he is still this reliant on another, especially after making himself out to be so independent as the feared and well-known mastermind everyone knew him as. But another thing that would have pushed him on edge even further would be the fact that it’s still undoubtedly dangerous out there. He knows his creations have the mechanics to target and attack anything moving, and he sure as hell doesn’t want you to fall victim to his robotic comrades.
Even when abducted, I can the fox being rather on the paranoid side, questioning his ability to keep you safe while being such a wanted delinquent. If anything, you may or may not already be able to notice a pinch of his sanity slipping away even further if you manage to get hurt in the slightest. I can also see the fox having quite the struggle when it comes to showing you his genuine intentions and emotions. Hiding his true feelings behind a large wall that seemingly lacks any kind of emotion... But if anything, it might even be the complete opposite when paying attention to the little details; perhaps when diving deeper into it, he might even be considered as emotional. In a way, he behaves incredibly repulsive torwards any of the affection you offer, often flinching at the slightest hint of a touch and usually even just avoiding it at a regular basis. But right at the same time, he clearly craves it; unintentionally leaving out small hints here and there when he longs for the simplest act such as holding your hand. Making it more than obvious that despite wanting to deny it on severe levels, he is just vulnerable as his younger self would be.
Something on a sweeter note, however, he’d certainly compare you to the little bird he nursed back to health when he was younger. He’s never had many creatures whom he could share his love with ... Aside from his pet bird, practically none, even. And because of this, he feels incredibly understood and puts a lot of trust in you for even allowing him to adore you like this, especially when considering your position. He hasn’t experienced a lot of joy in his life, but you? You make him happy. He understands your feelings may not be mutual to his own, but to him; you truly are his forever. The longer you’re with him, the closer he becomes to reaching the point of believing you to be the only dream and motive left for Mobius entirely. And though feeling a bit guilty for not showing it as much as he should have, he had always already found you to be the one hope left in this pitiful universe. You’re one of a kind to him, and he had finally gotten his hands onto a true motive to keep himself going; making you shine at your best.
Even if it requires his own demise in order to get you to that point.
Bonus section #1 : Similarities
╭┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤┈➤
An early yet important part to take note of is that both would absolutely not hesitate to get violent when it comes to their darling. Both live in fairly dangerous environments and given the circumstances with their behaviour, they’re definitely going to be ferociously overprotective when it comes to you. When looking at both foxes, I do however see Miles as a much bigger threat when it comes to the safety of any other living being out there. Instead of attacking them out of pure instinct and an obvious outburst of rage like Nine would, Miles is eerily calm about the entire situation, instead making a mental note of the said mobian and making very well sure to make their life a living hell before coldly finishing them off in a brutal manner. And tho they’d both usually be the type preferring to avoid conflict, neither would be uncertain to shed blood or better said, even take lives for your sake.
However, there would definitely be a major weak point that could be used against the both of them with ease; affection. They both have no clue on how to indicate it and how to react to it. Being as lonely as the two have always been in their lives, it’s no surprise to say that such acts leave them completely bewildered and perhaps even somewhat flustered with zero doubt. It may often even be considered awkward in a way, but they seem to crave it to severe extends right at the same time. Unquestionably, they could be seen as touch starved, acting reserved and perhaps even defensive about the entire thing, but melting in your hands when you do the simplest thing such as giving a scratch behind their ears. Over time they’d have a higher chance of getting dependent on your physical love, it literally becoming closer to a need to get through the day. And having no real reasons to hold them back and restrict their limits this time, both foxes might even become somewhat overbearing torwards their darling in response to it.
Another thing is how they’d both seem like the type to get attached rather quickly torwards those who are decent enough to treat them properly. They’ve honestly lacked any kind of politeness for so long that they’d immediately get completely faithful torwards those who show them kindness. The only thing truly holding them back being the question lingering in the back of their heads how long they’ll be able to put up with them before they start treating them like everyone else had done. But like most variants of Tails do, they are honestly in such a high class of emotional devotion to a point where they cannot get themselves to care for it for long.
At last I’d like to mention is how they both wished for the better in the world at atleast some point in their lives. They want to live in a place where all is well and good, wanting to get back the childhood that they’ve been robbed of. Wanting to create a future with you next to them. And though Miles never got the chance to recreate a world to his own favour, he wants to improve the world for your sake. He knows the amount of power he holds over their entire societies, and he will make damned sure to make good use of it, not seeming to care much about the clear misuse of power. Every act shall be done to fit your benefits and they shall not stop until it’s completely adjusted to your preferences. Hypocritically believing it would validate each and every single death and perhaps even the fall of Mobius itself during the process. It would really just become your own world, and they, including Miles are only just living in it.

Haikaveh Fanfics I Really Want to Read (Part 1)
Part 2. ->
1. A run-in with a cursed artifact on a research trip leaves Alhaitham intangible and invisible. He can't be seen, heard, or even open his precious books (which is the real tragedy here). Things go from bad to worse when it's discovered that the only person who can break the curse is someone who "knows Alhaitham by heart."
Problem is, nobody does. The only one who might even come close is Kaveh, and will he really be willing to go out of his way to research Alhaitham's deepest secrets just to bring his scathing roommate back?
Turns out the answer is yes, and Alhaitham is left invisibly watching over Kaveh's increasingly desperate attempts to learn more about the most private person in all of Sumeru.
Yeah... Alhaitham's probably doomed.
(Or: The Akademiya's erstwhile scribe has nothing better to do than stalk follow his roommate around unseen, gets a front row seat to Kaveh's tough life, undergoes the mortifying ordeal of being known, and realizes just how much his own cold nature has left him isolated from the world.)
Rest under the read more:
2. Another research trip gone wrong: While Kaveh's out of town on a job and without a shield this time, Alhaitham takes a nasty knock to the head during a fight. Although he wakes up all right, he doesn't have the faintest idea who or where he is. Quick-thinking nature intact, Alhaitham decides to fake his way through on context clues for a while. It's an interesting experiment, after all, to learn about his own life from an outsider's perspective.
Too bad a very silly series of coincidences occur (i.e. Kaveh took most of his work things with him for his trip, so his room is pretty bare; they wash their laundry together to save water; and everyone keeps asking Alhaitham why some mysterious "Kaveh" guy isn't with him), all of which lead Alhaitham to the absolutely incorrect assumption that this missing "Kaveh" person is his significant other. Imagine Kaveh's shock when he returns home to a very out-of-character greeting...
(But I mean, really, does Alhaitham need his memories back? This is kind of nice, you know...)
3. Requirements for a Desirable Life (According to Alhaitham):
1. Match your actions to your talents (read as: go with the flow) 2. Low stress, high paying job (read as: the balancing act between making oneself seem indispensable while underachieving as much as possible is a talent) 3. Nice home with a short commute (read as: at-home lunch hours every day) 4. Books (read as: soon as possible) 5. Kaveh (read as: the light of my life who I moved into my house through admittedly somewhat underhanded tactics just to keep him close to me, but what was I supposed to do--tell him I have actual feelings? Impossible, in the most literal of senses)
Or: Alhaitham pursues his plan for an ideal lifestyle in an utterly single-minded and undeterrable fashion... except when comes to his roommate, who--for someone so good at drawing up his own designs--also seems terribly good at ruining Alhaitham's.
Just fall in love with me already.
(Basically, I just want to see Alhaitham be the pining one for once. He is one checkmark away from his dream life, but he'd rather sell his soul to Lord Sangemah Bay than confess without knowing how Kaveh feels first.)
4. Alhaitham is preeminently capable. He's beyond a genius. His research could rewrite the laws of reality if he tried hard enough. But he's also... terrible with people. Actually, terrible is an understatement. If Alhaitham is murdered one day, it'll be because he finally committed one too many social faux pas and honestly the masses will probably say he had it coming. Thank the lesser lord that the Akademiya's scribe has someone as gregarious as Kaveh around to help him mend his obtuse ways, right?
Or: Five times Kaveh tried to lecture Alhaitham on social skills, and the one time Alhaitham put all those lessons into practice... on Kaveh.
5. The very silly comedy one: If someone were to ask Kaveh what the very worst thing about living with Alhaitham is, he'd say--well, first he'd say "Who told you?!", but after that, he'd say something that might come as a surprise. The worst thing about living with Alhaitham isn't their constant snarking and diametrically-opposed mindsets. It isn't the tacky, asymmetrical furniture Alhaitham keeps bringing home because it was "practical and inexpensive." (Kaveh's skin is crawling.) It isn't even the fact that his so-called "landlord" reminds Kaveh all too often about his unpaid rent while never lifting a finger himself to do the dishes.
Nope. The worst thing about living with Alhaitham is the experiments.
"How many books can I leave on top of Kaveh's sketches before he yells at me?"
"How angry will Kaveh get if I drink the expensive wine he brought home last night?"
"How many days will it take Kaveh to notice I keep rearranging all the stuff on his shelves while he's out?"
"How many times can I suggest he add Aranara statues to his designs before he tries to strangle me?"
It's bullying, is what it is! There's no limits to Alhaitham's behavior when his curiosity is piqued--the only thing that matters to him is the answer to whatever outrageous new question he's thought up in that thick head of his. And of course, the louder Kaveh shouts, the more "experiments" Alhaitham seems to dream up...
Honestly, someone ought to give him a taste of his own medicine!
(Or: Alhaitham and Kaveh end up in an exponentially escalating social experiment competition, pushing as hard as they can to find the other's boundaries. One of them has to break and give up soon, right?! Too bad Alhaitham's the god of stubbornness, and Kaveh's eternal peace of mind is on the line--if he can just win this, Alhaitham will finally give it up and quit bothering him! He can't chicken out first!
Because they're both very Normal™, it turns out there's not a single boundary to be found.
Well, at least answering the question "How many times can I walk in on him in the shower before he kicks me out of the house?" might save them some money on the water bill?
By the way, Kaveh wins. It turns out the answer to "How many dog ears can I fold into the pages of Alhaitham's books before he tries to kill me?" is 0.)

pirates smp morality tier list based vaguely on canon and partially on vibes, 2024/04/23
as per usual, this is about the cubitos and not the real-life people
[link to tier list, 6 late additions were manually added]
Characters in each tier are listed based on alphabetical order of preferred names
Level 1: No one is on Level 1 / purely white morality because that's kind of hard to achieve at all, and especially not on the high seas.
Level 2:
Cleo: Doesn't partake in enough lore to do anything bad, one of the few consistent characters who actually didn't kill anyone.
Graecie: Trying so hard to hold it all together, may have had her fair share of interpersonal conflicts but generally plays a voice of reason.
Jojo: Probably one of the most emotionally stable people on the Isles, and tries to sympathize with others for the most part. Can't blame her for making incorrect inferences based on limited information.
Will: Had the potential of dropping lower according to data from the writer's room, but in canon? Not really, actions were all perfectly understandable and reasonable in accordance with present knowledge, just… the idealistic approach did NOT work out. (Nor would the cynical approach, according to the writer's room; my guy's just doomed by the narrative either way.)
Level 3:
Eloise: Mostly just living her life; points deducted for the occasional bounty.
Michela: Releasing the Corruption did seem like a bad idea… at the time. In hindsight, it was the right decision to make, but in the moment… IDK, this one is just vibes.
Ros: Generally just a nice and sweet person; points deducted for the Sabertooth ordeal, but in her defense, there was blackmail and threats involved. Points also deducted for verbally endorsing Sausage's more questionable ideas and suggestions. Based on vibes.
Scott: Didn't exactly do anything wrong; points deducted for occasional pettiness. Again, a vibes judgement.
Water: Again, just living her life and being mostly nice; points deducted for occasional mishaps like being Eloise's bounty accomplice.
Level 4:
Acho: Mainly just here for being way too Byronic for stars own good. And also the self-destructiveness and sunk cost fallacy ordeal towards the end. But mostly vibes.
Aimsey: Points deducted for the pride/thinking oneself invincible (to be quickly proven wrong) and dishonesty, but let's be real: they're mostly nice, and that's pretty good by our standards.
Kyle: I've either heard through the grapevine or vaguely recall that his character arc was going to go in a much darker direction, but didn't have time to play it out, so this is my compromise. Also, it would be funny to put him in the same level as p!Acho.
Seapeekay: Live fast, die young, but essentially did nothing particularly bad.
Level 5:
Apo: Essentially written to be True Neutral to be dragged in opposing directions, and out of respect for canon, he's smack in the middle of the scale.
Bek: Has jerkish moments but is willing to do the right thing. It's mostly just the mercenary business and all that.
Eret: Mostly keeps to themself and just cares about themself. The worst thing they actually did in canon was the bounty. Big True *Chaotic Neutral vibes.
Guqqie: The classism is what puts her as far down as here. Otherwise, she's capable of being nice, she's just… not usually nice, you know?
Oli: On the self-serving side and just wants to go home to his family and make big bucks and all. Points deducted for capitalism.
Owen: Big carpe diem energy and only really cares for himself, might need therapy to unpack all that but that would be anachronistic.
Sausage: Again, it's the joke-classism and the trolling. Capable of being nice and does care about people around him, but still has a jerkish streak. Technically dips down to Level 8 for a bit towards the end, but in his defense, he was possessed at the time and fighting it.
Level 6:
Kuervo: Only ranked this far down for the mass murder. The fact it was tyrannicide is pretty much the only thing that keeps him from dropping to a lower level. Otherwise, probably a 4, but by that point, he wouldn't be here at all.
Scar: May have questionably left his old crew to die to save himself. Whether he actually killed them himself is never confirmed. Scamming leaves him in this tier. Didn't stick around for long enough to confirm or deny this level.
Tubbo: Here for the casual non-canonical murders and theft and vandalism and all that. Didn't stick around for long enough for further judgement, but from the ~2 weeks he was here, this is what leaves him at.
Level 7:
Shep: This man's moral compass is not pointing north!! Let's check off the canonical murder and voluntary manslaughter first! But then he's also capable of being nice to some people and he doesn't exactly take pleasure in hurting others or go out of his way to do so, so… compared to, say, his mentor, he's already somewhat decent.
Level 8:
Martyn: Being from the Datastream means he's playing 4-D chess with the world but I am not excusing his tomfoolery, especially since he is having a hard time comprehending that HIS ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES on the world! The whole Blondbeard arc. Just… that. And also how he acts towards p!Ros in canon is just plain mean… laughing about wanting to see her cry as her castle gets burnt and bombed to its foundations is… ARGH. THIS MAN. HE IS SO CLOSE TO CROSSING THE LINE.
Levels 9 and 10: Special spot reserved for Iris and co. for crossing the Line.
Everyone else: Didn't stick around for long enough, but I can vaguely clear a few off or speculate:
Olive: Definitely below a 5; probably 2–3 based on their one (1) stream.
Shelby: Maybe Level 5 for being kind of a rude snob, but didn't stick around to complete her Alexis Rose arc, so I'd say there is potential for her to be Level 4 (or lower), but we don't know with what our information is.

what are your top ten favorite klaroline fics?
hello, friend! so glad you asked. this is more than ten, and i have more in my bookmarks, plus there's stuff on ffn, but this has been 90m of my life, because i am incapable of brevity or culling. i'll probs do a part two? maybe? idk. i'll try.
fine china and dull silver by@yespumpkindoodlesthings
wrote a review here!
where it begins: by endoftheline7
i've been trying to write a review of this for fic rec friday for a month, but i just have so many incoherent screamy thoughts about it. it's one of my favorite reads on both klaus and caroline and plays with the idea that vampires are always a little bit the age they were when they died, no matter how old they get, and spins it into a sort of teen summer romance. klaus is mostly awkwardly thrilled to hang out with caroline, but still has a moment of oh, right. he's batshit and full of murder. caroline's less perfect qualities aren't glossed over. they're fully confronted and caroline doesn't just accept those things. she begins to learn how to turn them into strengths. also, i think about that conversation between rebekah and caroline at the beginning a lot. the whole thing about it not being their responsibility to correct the behavior of the awful men in their lives, but the alternative is to let those men burn themselves out, and that option sucks, too. very hmmmm. so much thoughts.
a statement for the masses (series, but it's one longer fic plus a short one shot) by but_seriously
i don't usually like human au in this fandom, because i think it's hard to make klaus human and in character without him being more awful than i can stand. like he ports pretty well to a shitty billionaire, but ew. corpo romance. not for me. rock stars, however? perfect. i love the rivalry. i love the family drama. i love the complicated relationship between rebekah and caroline.
leave the dust behind by whirly
tons to say about this, but it's mostly all about the ending for me. it's open, so if you like a strict hea resolution, it's probably not going to be a satisfying read for you. but i love this sort of slow ticking over of caroline's thought progression while she figures out what her relationship with klaus could or should be. there's a sort of balance between her own developing moral code and klaus's atrocities that needs to be struck. most of all, i love klaus's faith in her and his belief that they'll figure it out eventually.
someone that'll look like you by @cupcakemolotov
i probably don't need to talk this one up, but whatever. it's super popular for valid reasons. it has a number of my favorite things. amnesia! a more interesting augustine society! enzo! caroline being a stone cold badass! the dichotomy of klaus being both ancient and immovable and willing to bend for what caroline needs! all delicious things.
there's a devil on my shoulder where the angels used to be (and he's calling me the queen) by meet_the_girl_who_can
my favorite no humanity caroline fic. i have such a love/hate relationship with the humanity switch. it could have been so interesting, but tvdu mostly made it silly and samey and boring. this is more in line with what i can see caroline getting up to with her humanity off. like why would she just hang around mystic falls? other than the shitty budget of this shitty show, i can't think of a reason why she would. and i really enjoy how smart klaus knows he has to be with her. she's still caroline, but she can't be careful with him with her humanity off, and that has to be a scary prospect, because she was capable of hurting him badly when she did reluctantly care about him.
the fate makes for a lousy poet (longer fic plus a short one shot companion) by @stars-and-darkness
so. like so many of us, i love soulmates au, and this is probably my favorite in this fandom. but the part i go back to the most is the second fic. i love elena so much, because of that dichotomy of compassion paired with a near total inability to relate her own feelings and needs to those of other people, not in spite of it. she's a really interesting character and ella's treatment of that is so deft. elena absolutely cannot equate her own situation with caroline's, despite it being so obvious from the outside, because she's so mired in her own suffering and the indulgence of almost everyone she's ever known. she's simultaneously cruelly selfish and extraordinarily selfless and it's a wonderful read, as is the first caroline + mikaelsons fic. ella always writes concepts and does character work in a way that makes me go YES THAT EXACTLY THAT.
like the sun shines by @lalainajanes
this is like my #1 wish it wasn't unfinished fic, but i also absolutely do not care that it isn't finished, because it's just so much fun. canon barely goes here, which is so very favorite. i love a mostly everyone lives (contemptuously with each other) au. and i love caroline traveling the world. and i love caroline and bonnie in new orleans with secret, (probs) very important business. and i love a klaus who is still kind of the worst.
lost in the right direction (again, a series) by @kirythestitchwitch
there is nothing i love more than klaus and caroline traveling the world together and just doing stuff. all vibes, minimal plot. this series is A+++ murderfluff and it's enormously engaging, watching them figure out themselves and each other and whatever they have the potential to be together. totally one of my comfort reads
feel the madness closing in by yokan/@galvanizedfriend
this one is ugly and sad and awful and such a realistic take on caroline in new orleans during the events of the originals. i love so many things about it, but caroline's thoughts about whether he's been cursed or gone mad or if it was simply that klaus wasn't capable of loving someone without treating them like a possession are on point.
leave my rage to the sea and sun by sophisticatedfangirling
another ugly one. as much as i love that klaus never compels caroline, i can't help but think if he fucked up badly enough and felt like he'd lost everything else, too, he'd probably do it. this is so sad and slides pretty seamlessly into canon.
bride by brombones
this is one of those surprisingly layered, literary flavored fics. i'm planning on writing a dedicated review at some point (lololololol), but the very basic gist is caroline runs an experiment with klaus's blood and manages to completely fuck up her life to the point where she'll never be able to escape him, even if he never finds out the results. it is WILD with a fantastic use of silas that makes me want to shriek incoherently.

Base Yandere Lord Shen Headcanons+Scenario: His Fate and His Obsession
[Hello My Sexy Muffins, welcome back to another update, I hope that you all enjoy this lunar new years update!]
.Disclaimer: Lord Shen is not yandere in canon, simping for fictional yanderes and fictional characters is fine. As long as you separate fiction from reality and do not do anything illegal or gross. You know who you are. Yanderes are not ideal partners to have in real life, this is just for fun and NOT to be taken seriously at all!
Disclaimer 2: You are a duck in this and a female duck in the scenario!
Anyways I hope that you all enjoy this!
-Base Yandere Headcanons With Lord Shen-
.Lord Shen is a bit sadistic man.
.It shows in the way he treats people around him, especially rivals.
.He is capable of caring for others though and the person he cares most for is you.
.You have stolen his heart and become his obsession.
.Though to him he wanted you to be his fate.
.So he is even more determined to eradicate all pandas.
.Comitting mass murder on all Pandas.
.With you he is willing to get rid of anyone in his way no matter what he has to do.
.May it be ending their lives, torturing them, or even worse things!
.He is not afraid to do it.
.Though he is also very cowardly.
.In which he fears someone would try and steal you away from him.
.So he would keep you chained near him at all times.
.He also would be afraid that someone would look upon your beauty.
.So he has you draped in clothes so no one may look at you.
.Only he could gaze upon your beauty.
.He would not allow you to speak as only he can hear your sweet song of a voice.
.When in private you would have to be focused solely on him.
.If not he will have fear you were thinking of someone else, or worse you were thinking about leaving him.
.He would guilt you and gaslight you into you believing you were in the wrong.
.That you were a bad partner and that you cheated on him.
.The manipulation and emotional abuse he would give you as a yandere is obscene.
.He would also emotionally manipulate you into thinking no one could love someone as nasty as you.
.You are not nasty he just will break you down so you stay with him and be grateful to him.
.He is very much a toxic manipulator type of yandere.
.Thinks that he is the only one good enough for you and that you are his.
.He would not confess in the normal way.
.Most likely give you a choice to be his.
.If you say yes the emotional manipulation will be subtle but still very toxic.
.If you say no he will kidnap you and it will be very clear and a bit cruel how he does it.
.He knows what he is doing to you is wrong.
.Though he believes it is needed and he refuses to change his way.
.With Rivals he would slaughter them all as he wants you to be his fate, so if there are no rivals taking you from him then you must be his!
.After all, he will make it happen or die trying!
-Scenario Yandere Lord Shen X Female Duck Listener!-
(No One's POV/Third Person)
She was the most beautiful duck he had ever seen. That Duck was you, a beautiful duck that was just minding your own business. Lord Shen came across you one day. His heart was stolen and he knew he would make you his no matter what. So he began to learn about you, having his men gather information about you. Finally, he has been brought into his home where he could confess to you.
"My My." He says. "You are even more beautiful up close my sweet~"
"Why am I here!?" You demand to know of the Lord.
"Well you see my sweet I am due to have a bride, I thought no one would be more better suited for the job than you." He says. "You will be mine and I can give you everything you want and more."
You stare at him in shock. You knew he could do that, but also you know what this man has done. You could not be with him.
"I am sorry." You tell him. "But I will have to respectfully decline."
His eyes narrowed upon you and you knew that was not the answer he was looking for. You go running but one of his guards snaps his fingers and grabs you. He walks up to you slowly.
"I was not asking my sweet, you will be mine and you will stand by me forever." He says and then kisses you
you were shocked and could not even react before he pulls away. "Take her to the dungeons, I will make her learn to love me, she will be my fate."
You were dragged away screaming and kicking and he smirked. Oh he finally had you and now that he does have you. He is never ever going to let you go. He does not care how long it takes he will break you and make you his at last.
"You are to be my fate, my sweet (your name)"
[YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS another chapter done, I hope you all enjoyed and stay sexy all my sexy muffins!]

Would you break down Pops for me?
Sure thing! 😊
How do I feel about Pops?
Honestly, I do like Pops. I think he is a very damaged man who has done a lot of bad things in his life (obviously, because this man runs a mafia), but I do think that he holds onto some moral principles such as never harming civilians (something he scolds Kai about), which immediately separates him from people like All for One and Shigaraki, who are quite willing to destroy everyone in their path: villains, heroes and civilians (including children) alike. It's a shame we saw very little of him, because he represents the more "lawful" type of villainy that seeks to coexist with the heroes, rather than tear society down, which I just personally find more fascinating to delve into.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
I don't really ship Pops with anyone. I believe he had a wife at some point that I like to think has passed away (since he never mentions being estranged from her like with his daughter), and I think he took it very hard since he seemingly never remarried, or had more children to make sure there was an heir to take over the business after him (which is common in crime families).
My non romantic OTP for this character
So first of all obviously Kai lol. It's clear that Pops cared a lot for him, and viewed him as a son. Chisaki was clearly important to Pops as he tried time and time again to set him on a better path, despite Chisaki stubbornly digging his heels into the dirt and refusing to follow his father’s guidance. I think any mafia boss would've had such a volatile member either severely demoted so that they could not pose a danger to the mafia's operations, killed, or otherwise dealt with using other methods. Instead, Pops kept Kai close, only issuing him warnings but never truly taking drastic measures until he came up with the bullet plan, which broke the camel's back.
Second of all, I like to think Hari. Either Hari was related to Pops, or was a child of a high ranking member - I like to think Pops was very close to him and might've even considered him a second son. Hari states that he has known Chisaki since childhood, it says in his character profile that he and Kai are childhood friends. I don't think Pops would've permitted anyone near his heir like that willy nilly. Hari is also present when Kai presents his plan to Pops. I like to think he was viewed as part of their little family.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I have two opinions that I think are unpopular. The first being that I don't think Pops was a good father to Kai. He tried, yes, but I don't think he was capable of it. The closest example that I can think of how I picture their relationship is Arcane Silco and Jinx. Pops is a very damaged man. He is a criminal, and has most likely done a lot of heinous and terrible things in his lifetime. For some reason, people like to say that Kai had a good childhood, and was simply selfish, cruel and ungrateful, as opposed to Shigaraki who went through a traumatic event and was abducted, kidnapped and brainwashed by a mass murderer and terrorist. I don't think that's true. People forget just how terrifying a mafia is. Just how brutal the people in it are. Just because the yakuza tend to keep to themselves and make a point not to interact with civilians needlessly does not mean that these people are cute and cuddly. Money laundering, blackmail, extortion, assault, human trafficking, dismemberment, murder - all of these things are part of the yakuza's everyday lives. These people are scary. They even have a punishment where a member has to cut off his own finger to present to the oyabun as an apology for wrongdoing. This is obviously not a good environment for a child to grow up in. By taking him in and clearly involving Chisaki in the yakuza's operations, Pops exposed a very young child to horrors that clearly had devastating lasting damage on his psyche, which I theorize wasn't too healthy to begin with. I don't think Pops protected him and instead even encouraged Kai to "look out for the family", meaning the yakuza. I don't think he ever properly addressed Kai's unhealthy attachment, or the way the boy viewed love and affection as transactional. Didn't address his growing violence. However, I also don't think that Pops did all this maliciously. Not necessarily. He just knew no other way of how to raise a child, didn't know how to properly show affection, didn't know what kind of environment a child needed - for him mafia life is something that is normal, he knows no other way of life. And though he tried to guide Kai and support him, he was just too damaged of a human being himself to raise a stable member of society and did more harm than good. Loving and being a good parent are two very different things. I think Pops loved Kai, but a good parent he was not.
My second unpopular opinion is that I don't think Pops loved or cared much for Eri. I just didn't get that grandfatherly vibe. I think he only cared about Eri because of her blood, her biological relation to him. I don't believe he ever even calls her his granddaughter. When telling Chisaki about her he just says "my foolish daughter abandoned a child of her own blood", or something along those lines. So clearly, what's important to him is just blood relation, which is, again, common in a mafia structure. Furthermore, we never see him actually interact with Eri. Instead we see a panel of Eri sitting, all alone, a 3-5 year old child - alone, in a hospital room within the yakuza compound. Don't you think a loving grandfather would be there for his tiny granddaughter? Comforting her because she's just been abandoned by her mother? Wiping away her tears and telling her it wasn't her fault that her father died? Instead, we see Pops in his office, telling a sociopath that he's giving the child over to him and asking him to figure out her quirk. Which is another thing: no loving relative would ever give a young child to a man like Chisaki. Chisaki has already proven himself to be violent, unempathetic and ruthless. A person unsuited to be within a ten mile radius of a young child. I do believe Pops gave Eri to Chisaki in the hopes of mellowing him out, but you do not experiment with a young child this way. You do not give kids to violent people to see how those people react. So, I don't believe Pops ever loved Eri. And I don't think they should ever be reunited.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in Canon
What I hope for is Chisaki getting the Enji storyline. I believe that for Chisaki's story to properly conclude, he has to meet and talk to Pops one last time. After so much rejection and suffering that Chisaki has faced as payment for his crimes (being mutilated, thrown into solitary, subjected to white room torture, forced to ruminate on his crimes, rejected by the one hero who has vowed to help villains but decided not to help him, looking at you, Deku) - I want at least one person to come out and say: "I am looking at you, Chisaki. Show me how much you've changed." I'm not saying I want Pops to outright forgive Chisaki. No. What I want is for Chisaki to be given the chance, one chance, to prove to everyone that he can and has changed for the better. To be given that opportunity at atonement like Enji has. To be allowed to rebuild himself into a better version, instead of making his past essentially a death sentence. I want Pops to look at him and tell him: "I'm watching you."

Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Well, since you’ve asked, you shall receive it. Here are my thoughts on AsoRyuu, one of my three favorite shippings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For any of you that have watched my Let’s Play on the first case, it didn’t take long for me to fall for these two. From the get-go, I knew they were going to be a reflection of Wrightworth in some way. As for if I knew I would ship them as hard as I do now, I was skeptical. Spirit of Justice also had a Prosecutor that was supposed to be Apollo’s Miles Edgeworth and it was the reason why I found Nahyuta Sahadmadhi to be one of the least interesting Prosecutors in Ace Attorney. So, I did not expect to fall for Kazuma Asogi as quickly as I did. Unfortunately, no thanks to my audio recording from my phone deciding to give me trouble, it never accurately showed how long it took for me to fall head-over-heels for Kazuma. To make the long story short, it took the first five minutes of him showing up and reprimanding the security guard for treating Ryunosuke like a criminal. This is where I will start with their relationship.
Tumblr media
Unlike Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth, Kazuma and Ryunosuke are much more openly affectionate to each other. Even in a professional setting, they never hide how close they truly are. In the DLC case from London’s Side, Ryunosuke makes mention about going to a Hot Spring with his best friend. Most can guess that best friend was Kazuma. In other words, these two are so openly close that they will strip naked and bathe each other in a public Hot Spring outside. They also call each other partner or aibou. I like the word aibou, because it’s a word commonly used in Japan to refer to someone you consider closer than your typical best friend. This is also the name Yami Yugi called Yugi Moto in Yu-Gi-Oh, whom he shared a body with and was considered the closest person he had in his life. I also once read that Japan does consider those kinds of friends to be closer than lovers. It was a long time ago, so I’d take that with a grain of salt. Either way, it should give you an idea of how close Kazuma and Ryunosuke are.
Tumblr media
We first are introduced to Kazuma and Ryunosuke during the first chapter of The Great Ace Attorney Adventures. Ryunosuke is arrested for the murder of a professor at his University and Kazuma is supposed to defend him in court. From just the first five minutes alone, we can see that Kazuma is the kind of man who would lay down his life for Ryunosuke. It’s something I’ve always valued in friendships. There is no greater love than a man that lays down his life for his friends. Without a doubt, Kazuma knows Ryunosuke is innocent. For this, Ryunosuke is grateful, but there is just one problem: Kazuma is risking everything to defend Ryunosuke.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From Yujin Mikotoba, we learn that Kazuma is literally putting his one and only chance of going to London for the World Tour on the line. If Kazuma defends Ryunosuke in court and he’s proven Guilty, then his one and only chance will be taken from him. At this point, we don’t know the full context of why Kazuma is so passionate about going to London, but Ryunosuke knows that going there has been Kazuma’s dream that he’s studied and worked so hard for. He doesn’t need a reason or any context to understand how much going to London means to Kazuma. It’s for this reason that Ryunosuke decides to represent himself in court. Ryunosuke knows Kazuma is capable of defending him, but would never wish to put his aibou’s dream on the line for his sake. He’d rather risk the Guilty verdict than allow Kazuma to put his passionate dream to go to London on the line for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It isn’t until The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve that we learn that the reason for Kazuma’s passion to go to London was to find the truth of his father and prove his innocence of the mass murders in London. Knowing this, it would mean that Kazuma was willing to give up the only chance he had to prove his father’s innocence and redeem the honor of his family in order to save Ryunosuke from a murder charge in a Supreme Court of Justice. I’ll bring this back up later, but I thought I would mention this.
Tumblr media
After the trial, we get a short episode of Ryunosuke looking for his student badge, then telling the story of how he and Kazuma first met. Prior to the trial, they had known each other for a year. Their first meeting was during a Speech Contest where they were to deliver a speech. Kazuma spoke well until the end when he stumbled upon a tongue twister. Meanwhile, Ryunosuke spoke perfectly in his speech despite the tongue twister at the end. Kazuma, being as competitive as he is, made it his mission to best Ryunosuke in tongue-twisting, thus why he wears his red bandana. Through the charades of besting Ryunosuke in tongue twisters, the two become thick as thieves and closer than friends. That just goes to show that great friendships can develop through friendly competition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
About three months later, Kazuma makes the decision to bring Ryunosuke along with him to London. He makes the plan to stow him away in the steamship by stuffing him in his luggage, then hiding him in the wardrobe of his cabin. For the first several weeks, Kazuma sneaks food for Ryunosuke and keeps him hidden in his cabin without anyone else’s knowledge. During this time, in another mini episode, Kazuma comes across Herlock Sholmes, who is searching for the thief who stole three steaks. As it turns out, Ryunosuke had snatched a steak due to his hunger, but Herlock had taken the other two steaks. Cleverly, he is able to distract the sailors from pinning the blame on Kazuma, using his hunger as evidence for him not stealing the steaks, and keeping them from Ryunosuke. As it turns out, Herlock had seen Ryunosuke sneak out from the wardrobe to under the bed, having caught Kazuma bringing a stowaway. Thankfully, Herlock is understanding of having a partner you wish to bring with you on all your adventures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Ryunosuke would find himself framed for another murder or what looks to be a murder. This time, however, it is Kazuma who is the victim. He wakes up with a headache, only to find himself in cuffs. At first, he thinks he’s being arrested for being a stowaway until he realizes that Kazuma, his closest friend and partner, is dead. Of course, it is later revealed in The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve that Kazuma was never dead and Herlock had faked it to protect him from an assassination attempt. This will be important later on, but it does give Herlock an understandable reason to fake Kazuma’s death after having been so close to death at this point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ryunosuke is determined to find the culprit that murdered his closest friend. Susato is skeptical at first, being she doesn’t know him that well. However, as the investigation continues and two characters, Hosonaga and Herlock, both believe in Ryunosuke’s innocence without question due to his relationship with Kazuma, Susato begins feeling guilt. It’s only during the second game that we learn she has a close friend of her own, but before she had been grieving over the loss of someone she considered her older brother. She truly believed it was Ryunosuke that murdered Kazuma, even though the evidence and feelings the two men felt toward each other made no sense. It wasn’t about Susato accusing Ryunosuke of murder, since she was on the fence at best, but the fact she realized she should never have doubted Ryunosuke in the first place. When Ryunosuke was framed for murder the first time, Kazuma believed his words when he said it wasn’t him without question. Now, Ryunosuke is saying those same words about having not murdered Kazuma with an undercover agent and Herlock Sholmes himself believing Ryunosuke without question because of his friendship with Kazuma.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even a relationship can be considered evidence and it’s something I felt was missing in Turnabout Sisters. When you think about it, Ryunosuke is in a similar situation Maya was in, in Turnabout Sisters. He is being framed for murdering someone he considers to be the closest thing to him. Losing Kazuma, for Ryunosuke, was absolutely devastating and Susato’s grief blinded her from seeing it. It’s only through recognizing Ryunosuke’s grief that Susato no longer has any doubt of his innocence. After all, if that was her best friend that was killed, how would she handle being framed for her murder?
Tumblr media
By the end of this investigation, after the culprit is revealed, Ryunosuke takes it upon himself to carry Kazuma’s sword Karuma and wear his Defense Attorney’s armband. Throughout the rest of The Great Ace Attorney Adventures, Ryunosuke is determined to carry out the Will of Kazuma Asogi by continuing the World Tour. Little does he know, Kazuma’s Will is much more than tearing up London’s streets.
Tumblr media
Now, as we all know, Kazuma was never dead and had been in Hong Kong for six months before hitching a ride to London, then was taken in under Barok van Zieks’ care under Mael Stronghart’s orders. There is some debate about Kazuma’s amnesia during this time, but I’m going to leave that for a character essay on him. For any of you interested, please request a character essay on Kazuma Asogi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways, Ryunosuke meets with Kazuma again right after he’s given permission to work in law again. He takes Albert Harebrayne’s case and finds Kazuma in Barok van Zieks’ office in a cloak and mask under the name Masked Apprentice. From the moment this mysterious apprentice approaches Barok van Zieks, Ryunosuke can’t help but feel he has met this man before. It’s only from Susato’s confirmation that Ryunosuke is certain this mysterious man is his long lost friend, Kazuma.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately, due to Kazuma’s amnesia, there is little Ryunosuke can do to bring his best friend back to him. Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for Kazuma’s memories to return. From here, we get one of the most heartwarming scenes between the two. Ryunosuke returns Karuma back to Kazuma, who is thankful for his friend keeping his family’s possession safe. However, the fight isn’t over and Ryunosuke begins realizing that Kazuma’s mission to come to London wasn’t about becoming a Defense Attorney or just changing the Judicial System.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It comes as a whiplash when Ryunosuke realizes that Kazuma isn’t intending on returning back as a Defense Attorney. On top of that, Kazuma chooses to prosecute his mentor for Tobias Gregson’s murder. This doesn’t sound like the Kazuma Asogi Ryunosuke knew. Even though he still acts like the same Kazuma Asogi from before, there’s still something off about him. His soft smile now seems more smug, his bandana is no longer worn on his head, he’s no longer competing with Ryunosuke in tongue twisters, he intends on proving his mentor guilty of mass murders and he’s less calm than before. What puts the icing on the cake is when Kazuma admits to having agreed to an assassination which Ryunosuke discovered was agreed to before he entered the steamship to go to London. It was at this moment that Ryunosuke begins realizing that he had been looking at his best friend with rose colored glasses and doesn’t understand Kazuma as much as he had thought.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is at this point that Ryunosuke’s eyes begin to open to the fact that the path he had been following had not been Kazuma’s but his own. Kazuma’s path was never about becoming a Defense Attorney so much as it was a career he used to follow his path. It’s only at the end when we begin understanding why Kazuma had chosen his path as a Prosecutor. He had intended to be like Barok, thus one of the reasons why his days as an amnesic person do affect him. His path as an amnesic person is what led him to deciding to live his life as a Prosecutor. Before, he was only focusing on avenging his father and regaining back his clan’s honor. He never truly focused on what he wanted to do in life. Having his memories taken from him gave Kazuma a whole year to get his life together and decide what it was he truly wanted. So, even by the time he got back his memories, he already knew what he wanted and had a path set for him. The question then becomes if Ryunosuke can accept this new change in Kazuma.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thankfully, Ryunosuke and Kazuma come to understand each other’s chosen paths. They become much closer than before, intending on facing each other again in court. No matter how far apart they may be, their paths are destined to cross one day. It’s very exciting and heartwarming. I love how different this approach is to their relationship compared to Wrightworth. The trust and bond they share is similar, but the approach is the opposite. Kazuma and Ryunosuke are much more open and affectionate to how close they are and it’s the sweetest thing you’ll ever see.
Tumblr media
At one point, AsoRyuu was on the same level as Wrightworth and BaroAso. But, somehow BaroAso is starting to become more favored the more I get into it. Be expecting that essay by tonight.

for the dark oc asks 💀
1, 4, 7, and 13 for ermmm Thomas (⁉️ IF YOU WANT), Evelyn, Sam, and Lulu :3
SORRY THIS IS SO LATE GAAH!!!
also just and FYI i do like Thomas-LMAOAOAOA it’s fine to ask about him i just haven’t told you his updated lore and it’s. kinda fucking HORRENDOUS so you might see some of that here. :3
TW: mentions of violence, yandere themes, and sa.
1. Excluding murder, what is the worst thing your OC has ever done?
Thomas: he’s on the naughty list man. Blackmail, bribing judges/police officials, distributing illegal drugs/weapons, kidnapping, and a sprinkle of human trafficking, yeah. :3
Evelyn: SHE’S ONLY A MURDERER FOR A SIDE HUSSEL! (N/A)!! FREE HER!!!!! no but seriously the worst thing she’s done is brutally dissect like twenty people. she’s innocent 💔
Sam: aside from the murdering, he just stalks and kidnaps for the most part, so probably that. oh but he also drugs his victims so ig that’s sorta illegal too haha :3 (guess where he got the drugs from.)
Lucian: kidnapping probably….i feel like cannibalism ties in with murder so!!
4. What appears in your OC’s darkest nightmares?
Thomas: this man doesn’t HAVE nightmares. he goes to bed after dissecting someone like: 😴!! he could care less.
Evelyn: having violet give up on her. i mean, she wants to cure her condition more than anything, and having violet there to guide her has brought her a long way. without her, man…she might as well return to how it was. and that alone scares her more than anything.
Sam: his mother’s death is always his darkest nightmare. he knows its coming soon and one of these days he’s just gonna wake up and she’ll be gone.
Lucian: his (s/o) or friends sexually assaulting him. he ofc has nightmares about his stepfather’s abuse more often, but the darkest nightmares always originate from the thought that they would betray him like that too.
7. How far is your OC willing to go to get what they want?
Thomas: anything. if thomas hall wants something, he’s gonna get it. there’s no doubt in my mind that he would commit mass genocide just for a fucking soda. the thing about thomas is that he doesn’t take no for an answer - take that as you will.
Evelyn: honestly, if she can’t have it, she’ll be fine with it. unless it’s a very dire need, she’ll drop it sooner or later. but if it’s something that pertains her well-being or condition…well…a few heads might roll.
Sam: very persistent. not for physical things, but emotional. he could care less if he didn’t get some shoes he wanted. now to have riley’s eyes on him? anything in the world will do for a sacrifice. <3
Lucian: oh he’s persistent alright. if he doesn’t get something minuscule he wants, he’ll be okay with that. but if it’s something dire, something he truly needs, his sweetheart mentality suddenly becomes a bit tainted. depending on what it is, some people may or may not make it out alive.
13. Who does your OC hate the most?
Thomas: his mother. there’s no other competition.
Evelyn: thomas lmao. not only does she hate him as a person, but she hates his fake persona that he puts up so people don’t know what kind of monster he really is.
Sam: lindsey hall and her little bitches. yeah. even if they’re six feet under the ground, sam will always be their #1 hater til the day he dies.
Lucian: this one was actually hard…but i would probably say his mother. he’s been manipulated by his stepfather so much that he can’t help but “love” him, even if he knows how wrong it was. his mother, however, LEFT HIM WITH THAT MAN knowing EXACTLY what he was capable of. so he hates her more than he will ever hate him.

A Song With Ten Names
Chapter 15: Misanthrapologist (2)
Chapter 1 ☆ Next chapter ☆ AO3 ☆ Featured song playlist
Summary of chapter: Hidan doesn't know how to say "I love you." What he knows instead is how to savor something that hurts.
Author's Note: *WEE-WOO-WEE-WOO, SIREN SOUNDS*
CONTENT WARNING: This is a chapter very much about the intersection of mental illness, self harm, and having triggers for self harming. There is also knife play. From this point on, any chapter with the title Misanthrapologist may involve said knife play. Whats more, the knife play while consensual is not safe. I am perfectly okay if you skip anything that is uncomfortable for you.
The performer also has absolutely no idea he is immortal, the exact depths to which he can carry out what he preaches. It may be intense compared to prior interactions between her and Hidan.
The song for this chapter is Misanthrapologist by Will Wood.

So call me Amadeus
God made me famous 'cause I am his favorite

Kisame did, indeed, touch Hidan’s fucking room. After such heartfelt welcoming, the performer is already trying to take the reaper backwards by the arm, beseeching him to calm down. “Hey, hey, it’s okay!” she pleads, watching the way he grits his teeth and raises his fist. “You can make a new one!”
“I shouldn’t NEED TO!”
Kisame pinches the bridge of his nose. “Hidan, it was literal, rotting blood stains on the floor. It was starting to reek.”
“Fuck you???" is all he has to say to that. Damn heathen. "Fuck you!”
The woman exhales, long and exasperated. Surely there is something else they can focus on? They only just started, this adventure all together. It’s like a dollhouse, all of her friends (“friends”? they're kind of forced to be nice to her) together, but they still are all fairly willing and capable of killing one another. Joy.
“Hidan, why don’t we go for a walk—?”
“Takara—” Wait. She is pretty sure he’s never said her name before. Huh. That’s...huh. This is a weird time for that sentimental tidbit of information. “—I have spent so many. Damn. Hours. And hours. And hours. Walking.” Oh thank Jashin, the lady thinks, he’s starting to think of something besides the missing ritual circle on his decrepit bedroom floor. Maybe she can use that to her advantage, to make peace.
“Then what would you like to do, now that you’re back?” she offers helpfully.
“Pray.”
“Okay, we can—”
“On my intricately drawn holy sigil for Lord Jashin that SOMEONE thought was freaking dirty!”
The blue man has his arms folded, frowning with squinted, exhausted eyes. She couldn’t have been discovered in this world by someone else? Anyone else? Maybe became friends with a wild dog or a swarm of angry bees? That’d be easier to handle than Hidan, of all people in their universe.
“Think of it this way,” the prophet’s one and only ally optimistically suggests, “You can teach me how to do it this time!”
Oh dear gods above. Kisame raises a lone index finger. “Takara, I have to say that I don’t think that’s very wise of you—”
“Wise my ass, that’s actually a decent idea!” Oh, there’s that horrible smile of his. It’s a real talent for something besides bloodshed to get him to grin, so Kisame is caught off guard by the easily shifting enthusiasm.
...Does his own bloodshed count, though?
Almost like they’ve known each other for years, the best and the worst disciple of Jashin swing their palms toward one another’s in excitement, clenching to make a deal. It doesn’t take very long for the pious man's free hand to begin to wave the shark away like he’s no more than a fly. “Now if you excuse us…do ya mind?”
Yeah, Kisame does a little, certainly when the only civilian in the house will be left alone with arguably the single most unhinged mass murderer on the planet. ...Okay, the swordsman of the Mist isn’t much better, but at least he hasn’t entirely lost his mind. Not like Hidan has. And so a wary guard looks to his ward for her consent. She looks back, bright yet soft, and flickers an innocent smile. She nods her consent to be left be.
“...Yell if you need me,” Kisame makes her promise, but she just closes her eyes, just like a cat does when it trusts you.
“We’ll be okay.”
On Hidan’s head remaining on his shoulders, she damn well better be, Kisame thinks as he reluctantly steps out and closes the sacrificial altar's front door.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
But I can hate myself
So you don't have to
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The silver demon knows better than anyone that this woman is not as innocent as she pretends to be. No such thing as people on the moon, there's never been people in space. It's all as ridiculous as the way she dresses, all the pastel and floral and pink. For whatever reason, one he's not ascertained yet, the stranger wraps all things macabre and dark in a big frilly bow, like she sewed her heart inside a teddy bear. It's so distracting...so is it to protect herself? Eh...that doesn't really make sense to him, but that's his best guess, and honestly, it's not that far off. A scholar at heart, it isn’t like she’s shoved cotton in her ears whenever he speaks of his religion, not like her questions mean nothing at all. A sociologist: that’s the word she told him before. Everyone has their reasons, and she lives to know. That is how she can watch on with interest as the two sit across each other, finally, again after so much time. The familiarity is like a warm blanket on Hidan’s soul, the way they both sit cross-legged as she listens.
No one else listens like she can.
“So, might remember, might not, here’s a refresher for ya,” he begins, shifting one leg up so he can lean on his knee. “Circle’s important part of the prayer. Remember why?”
The performer bites the inside of her lip. She doesn’t know how to read the cheat sheet he gave in a handwritten bible, so she needs to go off of memory. “It...unifies and amplifies,” she recalls with his same choice of words from a month-so before. “It is not strictly necessary for prayer, but to always go without is like walking outside without shoes.”
“Bingo!” ...Wait, do they have fucking bingo—? “But,” he drawls out the syllable to give her time to think, “There’s somethin’ important you forgot.” She chirps up with a small “oh!”
“The...the blood represents dedication. The...precision of the circle being made of...your...ah...own...flesh?” She pauses to gauge his approval or lack there of, to which he glances diagonally at the ceiling and waivers his hand with a hum. It’s close enough. “Flesh is demonstrative of your focus and sacrifice.” Hidan hums again, this time longer and more satisfied with an upward tilt of his chin.
“You got it, you got it.” This is a side of him that no one else gets to see. No one else gives him the time of day, listens to his sermons, even attempts to understand what he’s trying to say. And so, no one else but her will be able to see him like this: unagitated and engaged. “And once the circle is drawn?”
He reaches into the inside of his black cloak while she tries to pluck an answer from her brain.
“You…” There’s no recollection of something more specific, and so she answers in a way that feels too plain, too simple. “...Pray?”
“Mm.” The man nods, and a kunai is gripped in his hand.
And abruptly, she is not doing so great.
“Eh?”
His eyes widen ever so slightly at hers going into saucers. The woman is pale, in an instant she is sick to her stomach. He raises a brow. Their first meeting was a doozy for her, yeah, but their conversations about his religion never turned up this way since, no matter how much he talked about the worst of things. What’s up now?
“Are ya...okay?”
She is not. She most definitely is not. But she should be. She should be. And so she must answer in the affirmative. “Yeah, I’m— I’m fine.” It’s not a lie if she should be fine. It’s just a knife. But Hidan has no idea that the problem is that there is a knife.
“Well, if you say so…” he mumbles, casually bringing the blade towards his palm, ready to get started as she had so requested to see. Audibly, though, she flinches; a whimper comes as her shoulders tense inward like she might be able to fold herself tighter in place, less able to move.
Hidan’s eyes narrow, and it is only coincidental that the kunai in his hand lowers away from his skin. “Hold on...you aren’t squeamish, are ya?”
“No, no—” That is actually true, at least usually.
“Then the hell is the matter?”
“Nothing—”
“Fuckin’ liar,” he rolls his eyes. “Listen, you asked to learn and now we’re learning! If you’re a wuss about blood, might as well tell me now.” He tilts his head. “Might make it a bit easier, yeah?”
“I’m not! I’m…” Her eyes are glued on the glinting metal; it eats her words up. “...Sorry.” She's escalating a lot faster than he anticipated, Hidan can see the panic on her face.
“Takara, can you just—”
“Sorry!"
Shamefully, she must take her leave. The woman stands up, and her hands grip each other for her dear life. She’s a bad friend. “Sorry. Sorry.”
“Takara—”
The door closes again, and he is alone. Hidan exhales. His hand raises the blood-drawer again. Might as well get it done since he’s already started.
“...Goddammit.”
Slash.

'Cause I like you, don't you see?
I just like you a little more than me
I, I like you, don't you see?
Oh, hеy, I just like you a little more than me
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Busy work keeps from idle hands, idle hands can be kept from dumb mistakes. The running water breathes its voice into her ears, and she tries to meditate on it alongside the motions involved in doing dishes. Shaky fingers grab one plate, scrub in a circle, set it down. Another plate, scrub in a circle, set it down. Spoon, accidentally do that thing where you put aim the faucet right onto the curved end so it splashes everywhere, set it down. Kitchen knife—
“Heh—!”
A cling of metal and a gasp occur at once, briefly interrupting the stream of sound from the small waterfall. It continues as ever, running the clear liquid over the innocuous little tool, making the silver seem even brighter and therefore sharper under its ever-changing shapes. Something so ordinary can intimidate her so much and it’s pathetic. Here she thought she was doing better. The performer frowns. Wasn't she improving? She hadn’t thought of it once since the water took her away from the old world.
A shadow drops over her shoulder, a pursed lip and a bored expression a great contrast to her own face as the traveler whips her head back to look. Purple irises slide over the way she’s raised her hands, the way they’re making sure they’re far away from so much as thinking about getting cut. Apologies begin to stammer again, to which Hidan only rubs his temple and interrupts like she's saying nothing at all.
“...You have a damn phobia,” he surmises. “That’s the word for this, right?” He makes the mistake of assuming that this is why she was afraid to kill with his scythe instead of normal civilian common sense. Either way, she shakes her head, bashful.
“I...well...only...kinda.” In full, aware control, she lowers her arms to her sides, slowly shuts off the sink, and gradually turns around. “I used to be more afraid, all the time. Now it’s only...sometimes.”
One eye squints with a questioning grumble. “Sometimes?”
“Only sometimes,” she repeats. Even when she walks past him and leaves the kitchen, Hidan trails behind. He’s a hard man to satisfy, in terms of curiosity.
“So like. Somethin’ triggers it?" he asks the back of her head, "Not just if you see a weapon?”
“Oh yeah.” The further she gets away from the sharp edge, the easier it is to talk, the more she expresses herself freely. “Usually it's when I’m not doing so great.”
The tea room will do, she decides, making a turn into the little nook where Kisame and Itachi once sat frozen for a whole day. She takes the south-facing loveseat, sitting horizontally across it so her feet are on the cushion. Hidan does the same, taking the northern chair and resting one leg on top while the other dangles off.
“...Are ya not doin’ so great now?” he presses. She’s quick to assuage him of his secret fears, that he is not enough after all, by shaking her head.
“Things are...pretty good, honestly?” Her gaze moves off of him to glance sideways at the window behind her seat and Hidan's only friend makes a list of things that are better with him around. “I got people who care about me...I don’t have to worry about being safe...or if I get enough sleep before work...or when the rent is due…” The more the woman goes on, the more clear it is to Hidan that this isn’t comparison to times when they had lived together before; it’s even further beyond.
“Do ya have a point?” he presses, getting she means something to bring all this up.
Her chest visibly rises and falls with full and heavy lungs. He can hear her breath even from over the coffee table between them.
“...Keep a secret for me?”
“Eh?” He blinks several times, but the answer is obvious, regardless of what he’s getting into by saying it. “Yeah, sure, okay… What’s your big secret, girly?”
Her expression is...shockingly calm in the long pause that comes to pass. It’s an aspect of her, a piece of her that will never quite go away. You can only speak of such a thing with casualness, with humor, lest it get more power than deserved.
“You ever feel sometimes you just wanna bash your own head in?”
If she sees his jaw drop, she ignores it, still watching out the window.
“That since you can’t kill God for doing all this to you, you just wanna kill yourself so you can go up and meet him, tell him what an asshole he’s been? Maybe get your hands around his neck for doing all this?”
She has achieved the impossible: Hidan is now concerned for someone else. “...Takara, what the fuck?”
That catches her attention, and she glances back at him, measuring his reaction. He is genuinely confused; she’s only seen this face on his before the one time he caught her singing a Lemon Demon song to herself. It scares her a little; out of everyone, she thought maybe he’d be the easiest to explain it to...
“Sorry. I don’t mean to scare you.”
“You’re not—” She kind of is, but he can’t be scared of anything. “—I just don’t get it.”
...Maybe she could keep trying.
“Do you remember when you asked me if my period was chronic?” With another sputter, Hidan’s cheeks prickle till pink and he rubs the back of his head.
“Uh. Yeah? What about it? So what?” He makes a wrong guess: “Is it happening again? Yer having a fuckin’ mood swing or whatever?” She shakes her head...though he is halfway right.
“I do have something chronic,” she finally admits, something that is perhaps worth his pity after all. A fingertip knocks the middle of her forehead. “Sometimes, brains get sick just like the rest of you can. Just like any other organ. Back where I’m from, it’s pretty common—” Putting aside her belief that it’s probably common here too, just handled differently. “—So they make medicines for it.”
The woman allows silence. Hidan may not always realize something immediately, but if you give him enough time, he catches on with deadly accuracy:
“...Ya don’t have that medicine.”
“Mm-mm,” she hums in the negative, so nonchalantly about something so life-altering. “So sometimes...I think...even though things are good...the chemicals my brain produces in response to stimuli isn’t always in the right balance. It’s like my brain— I mean, my logical part— and my heart— the part that runs off of the chemicals— don’t always agree on what is really happening.”
“Ah…” he murmurs, slinking his face into a palm, elbow pointed against the arm of the couch. “That fuckin’ sucks,” he understates, though she’s not the least bit offended. Honestly, the more easygoing this conversation is, the better.
“I can’t blame it for everything, but it’s a lot of work to retrain my mind, my reflexes. So whenever I’m weird...or I apologize too much...—” I’m sorry. “—You know why.”
It’s a fascinating contradiction, he begins to see, between his philosophy and her mental illness. The death of someone doesn’t mean much to Jashin if they don’t put up a fight. Killing yourself for no reason does nothing to spread his gospel. He ponders...is this why? Is this why she listens so keenly to him? Is this why she seems to accept such harsh truths even when she’s as weak and thin-willed as a butterfly wing?
Is any thirst for blood simply reserved for her own?
On her end of the room, as the disciples mirror one another as the fishes do in the constellation Pisces, the traveler enjoys the quiet. Someone knows. It’s not something she meant as a secret, but as soon as he moved to strike himself, she realized it had been one all along. Someone knows now, someone can finally come as close to understanding it as maybe someone can.
That’s about to be her problem, turns out.
“...I got an idea.” Hidan rolls his leg off the cushion and then moves from sitting to standing. The motion in his wrist indicates she’s to follow.
“Uh...okay.”
She slinks along behind, hands behind her back rubbing one another in residual anxiety, though the emotion she feels at his mysterious proposal is closer to intrigue than fear. They walk up the creaking staircase, turn the corner, and he opens the door to his room. The smell of rot from before is gone, but the metallic aspect has returned. Her eyes widen. The ritual circle has been drawn in her absence.
“I...oh.” Is this it? Is this what he wanted her to see? After stepping inside, Hidan moves to close the door behind her. He’s so uncharacteristically wordless that it takes her a second to look to him, to see what he’s doing.
His cloak is unbuttoned and drops to the floor. Hidan has been technically shirtless all along, but it looks so different when he’s taken his coat entirely off.
“Wait.”
Wait.
Wait.
Wait.
“Hidan. Hidan, wait, what-?!”
He stops halfway in beginning to slide down his pants, looking up at her from the awkward position. “Eh? Well, guess for this first time I don’t need ‘em off…” The fabric shimmies further back up on his waist as before, not revealing anything further than the hips after all.
First time?!
“WHAT!” Her face is as red as the blood on the floor.
“Can you calm the hell down?!” Oblivious to one another’s intent, it’s only till his next words that seductive things are taken off of the table. “Don’t listen to the chemicals or...whatever.”
Her lips part to speak silence as he shoves the black and crimson cloth out of the way. A hand holds her wrist. As long before, when he first felt a pang of pity for the girl, it is so very gentle as he walks them onto the circle. It’s so fresh that it's still a little tacky as it sticks to his lowering knees.
“I have an idea,” he repeats, now that he’s lured her here. He has sunk to the floor in the middle of Jashin’s triangle, and he brings forth an object from his pocket to a standing woman much like how someone would propose. The only problem is that he is once again holding the kunai. The issue is that he wants her to take it. She’s so frozen she can’t even flinch.
“Hidan…” she murmurs, brow furrowing so hard it hurts. There are no words for this besides his name and to question. “W...what?” The circle is complete. In fact, she can now see the raw cut on the plushest muscles upon his hand. What is he asking her for...?
It’s more what she could be asking of him, really.
“Any way ya wanna hurt yourself…” Hidan explains, serious as can be, “Do it to me, instead.  I can take it. I'll be fine.”
“Hidan…” she quivers, horrified. The length of kindness does not matter when it creates such an atrocity. “That’s…” The bottom up her lids pinch upward in moral disgust. “...No…!” He responds to her terror so levelly, it makes this even worse.
“I want it.”
“No you don’t—”
“I fucking do.”
A reply so fast from her cut so short. His eyes are hooded. Now that he’s half naked, it becomes clear to her: the many, many scars upon his skin. She does not know that they are lighter, more minor than they should be on any human being, considering what he’s gone through...by his own hand or any other. Somehow, he is both so very damaged and absolutely immaculate. The beauty of him is overshadowed by the circumstance.
“Hidan…” The disciple pleads, tears in the corners of her eyes, unable to cross the line he reaches across. “Hidan…!” But damn if he isn’t curious. He asks something of her, as calmly as she’s ever seen him:
“Why not?”
Why not?
It should be obvious, but clearly the reaper has such a different view of the situation than she. In this grave matter, how can she unwrap it? How can she explain how this is so very wrong? She decides, unconsciously, that it necessitates the most painful of honesty.
“Because...I...don’t want to hurt,” she confesses. His hand remains out, blade resting upon it, waiting for her to take, but she does not. It scares her so much. “I don’t...want...to do what I’m not willing to have someone else...do to me. And—” Her reasoning: “—It’s selfish. But. But. But.”
But he is still listening. She has no escape, no interruption. She must continue to explain herself.
“I can’t...handle that kind of hurt if it’s from someone else.”
...What a strange distinction. It’s foreign to him, the idea that she’s more okay with hurting herself than she is anyone else. Masochism and sadism are shades of black and white blended till gray in the prophet’s existence; there is no such thing as sympathy, not when we all bleed the same.
...Then why, pray tell, has he been offering such a lowly thing to her?
He makes his own contradictions shut up by moving his empty, ringed hand so delicately up to his docile master, so carefully as to not scare, so smoothly so as to assure that no pain will be entering her own body tonight. Her skin is so soft in his scarred fingers.
“So...the fear of being hurt is the only thing that holds you back?” he tries to discern correctly. “It isn’t even that you’re not willing to hurt yourself?”
So sinfully, the truth is clear. “...Yes.”
She watches his face. A pensive expression grows a small smirk. He has been assured that maybe she could be a killer, after all.
“...Don’t worry about me, angel.” Another word...another thing he has never called her. Not out loud. She isn’t sure if this is a nightmare or a dream. She isn't sure anymore if she wants it to end. “Whatever can be done to a human body, I’ve done it. It’s been done to me. Whatever you feel...it’s nothing to me. I'll soak your suffering like a sponge. I can take that shake in your damn hands and carve it into a prayer.” Into his flesh. Into his soul. Jashin will surely hear them this way. “Just trust me.”
The stranger is unable to move her own body; it is so very easy to guide her fingers to clasp around the kunai’s handle...but something still isn't right. What is it?
…Ah, the most important part.
“Do you believe me?” he asks. “Do you believe me when I promise I won’t hurt you back?”
“I. Don’t.” Her mind is not in her body. “Know.” His fingers trail across her knuckles like butterfly kisses.
“Will you let me prove it?"
This is a nightmare of misunderstandings. She merely meant to say...that sometimes things are hard. Sometimes things scare her. And sometimes she needs to leave. This is far too drastic. There's no way she should ever ask this of him, that it'll do nothing but craft a desire to hurt other people. And yet.
And yet.
Religious purpose is used as an excuse to explore something truly deplorable.
"...Yes," she concedes, breathless.
That's all that is needed for the man to give her his everything. Hidan guides her grip on the kunai  with his own, and the disciple allows him, starting by pulling her down to his level, to her own knees so the symbol of his faith bleeds onto her dress. He brings the tip of the blade to the same palm he’s already struck to make his sigil, the hand laid face up between them with the wound's thin edges pinkened by healing cells. He grits his teeth at the first pinprick from the weapon she holds with his fostering attention, but he soon exhales in release as the line starts to draw. The new cut meets in the middle of his own and keeps going to forge an "x", the same orbit as star-crossed lovers.
Drip.
Drip.
His blood is now on their hands.
The tables have turned, the man now at her mercy instead of the woman at his. It's worshipful, his sacrifice. This first time, she can only cut a small part of him and only with his help, but that's just fine. She cries. She cries, but she won’t stop it. This means so much to him. Doesn’t that make it worthwhile? And somewhere, so evilly, doesn't he want it to make her feel good?
From the darkest depths of blazing hell, it is euphoric to be wanted so badly like this, behind the flames and blaring alarms. Someone sees her pain. Someone wants to rescue her. Through the smoke and screams, a savior is here. He will carry her away.
Like never before, the man soft, and praising, and encouraging. It makes this all the more sinful. “Just like that. That ain’t so hard, huh?” The soothing look upon his face is more like one you may wear when you’re proud of someone, not that you are being mutilated by them. His tongue is honeyed, airy as a feather. “I told you I could take it.”
She is simultaneously so disgusted, so sick to her stomach, but undeniably part of her illness is from how her heart twists. So sweet, so terribly, she begins to appreciate the reaper's own appreciation for her. How could someone care this much? He offers his body to her. And what has she done to deserve it?
Merely exist in the way only she can.
“Whenever you want to hurt yourself like that...just find me," he repeats, etching a promise into her soul as he helps her etch his skin. He helps her hand fold on top of his once the act is done. The seal is made, and her lungs choke on his dedication. "We’ll make something out of it. Make it worth somethin’ besides just keeping you afraid of nothing worth your time.”
The words "I love you" don't matter in Hidan’s reality, only actions. Only the actions that hurt.
Even if it means that if she can never hurt, he’ll have to carry it all on his own shoulders. He can do that just for her. Just for Jashin and his angel sent from the stars. This is what Hidan has done today to deserve his eyes.

I threw myself out of bed at 5AM to spontaneously make a reference for my terrible murder god; Grace.
Simple Bio:
Name and Pronouns: Grace He/They/It
Height/Mass: 7'4'' Toned slender build
Bio/Personality: Grace is a purely hedonistic; corrupted trickster god. He has no human morals but he can fake them. Capable of loving another but tends to choose to indulge in his urges instead of forming close bonds. He lives in the in-between world filled with castaway spirits and demons but sneaks into physical realities to cause trouble. Prone to spiriting people away into his little pocket realm to indulge in some cat and mouse.
Powers [If Applicable]: Levitation; hypnosis, can open portals into other worlds and cause hallucinations. His movement can be very erratic and he is able to teleport decently far distances. He's also capable of possessing people in a spirit form.
Sexuality: Grace isn't picky and will sleep with anyone that catches his attention if they're willing to.
Important Details: The colors in the image provided are his true colors! He appears to people as grayscale and glitchy but has a human disguise he can use to fit in spaces better. This takes a bit of energy to do so though and if he is too excited about something his true colors will show. He NEVER removes his mask willingly.
Uses a curved hook like blade on people or just his claws and teeth.

Thinking of an AU where Adam sold Silva off to Joseph and Eden’s Gate (in some delusional sense that she would destroy it because honestly that’s the only reason he’d ever give her to the Project) as a child and the Voice convinces Joseph to take her up as a protege. Maybe Paul plays a part into this AU, maybe he doesn’t. Not sure with him yet, since this would be the first time they wouldn’t meet under regular circumstances (the “save the child from drowning and visit her occasionally and eventually gain her trust and adopt her then and there” kind of circumstance).
Anyway, it made me realise that “holy shit, the idea of an Eden’s Gate/Seed-aligned Silva is an utterly terrifying concept” regardless how it happens… because this is a version of Silva who is willing to look past child sacrifices, mass murder and oppression (depending on whether or not these had happened to her in this timeline/s). This is a version of Silva who is more than willing to forgo morality to do as she pleases. A more selfish and malicious Silva.
Could be even worse than the Seeds combined because she’s also better than them too. Opens up a horrific can of worms. The amount of potential this has.
God the Resistance and whichever deputy unlucky enough to face her would be so super fucked. Doesn’t matter if she has learned something (bad) from her experiences with Adam and Paul (probably Apostle-aligned), or if she took an interest in some of the things they taught her but through the Seeds this time around, Hope County would be dealing with a Silva who can physically, psychologically and emotionally outwit, overpower, and destroy them… at any time if she wanted. A very dangerous opponent with a strategic prowess matching up to Jacob and Alexander (probably because they helped perfect her capabilities).
I don’t think most of Eden’s Gate’ members would be safe, as she’s likely prioritising the Seed Family and the select few people she likes.
(More possible ideas! Maybe she managed to convince a GFH/Resistance member to join Eden’s Gate in this timeline? Maybe she has a greater popularity and influence over the Eden’s Gate community than Joseph does? Maybe this was the Voice’s plan? Maybe it needed Joseph to raise the perfect Prophet for it? Endless ideas! I must write it down!)

New character roundup, just in time for NaNo! No particular order, and I was working off the previous one and what's changed since then.
Spry the Duck
name: Spry
species: Duck (Speaker)
gender: undecided
alliance: neutral
character notes: willing to go just about any lengths to attain the desired ends. murder duck. operates fairly independently of either side, and is in it for whatever Spry wants, not anybody else. probably no real loyalty. doesn’t really agree with either side, and is hence an outlier. he also does his best to hide his pain and once he can no longer, he will lash out.
additional notes: he is a spy of sorts. he is the one to find Taira after she doesn’t respond to Paddy post leaf incident, and says he’s gonna take her back to the alyen. instead, he betrays her and hands her over to the alyen, then tells Sheba; he also tells Taira about the winterbush lore, and goes back to check the winterbush for when it opens. He is involved in the Secret Plot Point.
Flinder the Eagle
name: Flinder [or Flinders like the Range]
species: Eagle (Speaker)
gender: male
alliance: tairen
character notes: fearless and very strong. goodnatured. doesn't come up much.
additional notes: he is the one to discover Spry was the betrayer. he spends much of his time in the air doing surveillance. he was the one to discover the massing for the ritual. he also tells Sheba about the overrun of Killarney [placeholder name bc that's all I think of when I think of that for some reason].
Richi the Wombat
name: Richi
species: Wombat (Speaker)
gender: female
alliance: tairen
character notes: nothing much
additional notes: leader of the flying wombats. she reports directly to Sheba. appears in the chapter "Like Little Bombs" (and yes if anyone thinks they recognise that phrase from a book yes you absolutely do I stole it)
Paddy the Fox
name: Paddy
species: Fox (Speaker)
gender: male
alliance: tairen
character notes: carefree, and annoys Sheba by doing so. Sheba thinks he should have a more serious attitude to life. can be somewhat cocky, this is what gets him into trouble with the leaf incident. despite his love for adventure, he's fundamentally a homebody.
additional notes: while he has no smell (leaf related), Paddy comments, ‘doesn’t smell like anything in here’ or some such. annoys Sheba by doing so. he eats ducks. he also eats deer. he possibly has unrequited love going on. >:D he and his mate, Lilac, name one of their first litter after Taira (she calls her Namesake instead, as a nickname)
Sheba the Canadian Lynx
name: Sheba
species: Canadian Lynx (Speaker)
gender: male
alliance: tairen
character notes: absolutely capable of murder. absolutely dedicated to the cause, and willing to do whatever it takes for that. in that, similar to Murder Duck.
additional notes: frequently clashes with Paddy, whose flippant attitude is very unlike his own. married to Minna. loves her but doesn't show it often while being general.
Minna the Canadian Lynx
name: Minna
species: Canadian Lynx (Speaker)
gender: female
alliance: tairen
character notes: more empathy and kindness than Sheba on display. she is frequently the one who calms him down if he gets angry.
additional notes: Sheba's right hand person, but not one he would consider to take leadership. they're married but don't talk about it, but they work together excellently.
Aki the Deer
name: Aki
species: Deer (Speaker)
gender: male
alliance: tairen
character notes: practical and levelheaded. would do a lot for Paddy though, a touch of hero-worship while still being able to separate his instinctive agreement from what he thinks should be done.
additional notes: has a Crow friend. is also friendly with Paddy because they’re both the kind of spy things that still needs a bit of working out.
Hero the Otter
name: Hero
species: Otter (Speaker)
gender: undecided
alliance: tairen
character notes: none yet.
additional notes: he loves to crunch ice. comes up like once. no what are you saying I didn't completely forget about this character.
Soli the Hedgehog
name: Soli
species: Hedgehog (Speaker)
gender: undecided
alliance: tairen
character notes: does its best to do what it can.
additional notes: it serves in its own smol way.
Unnamed the Bear
name: Unnamed
species: Bear (Speaker)
gender: undecided
alliance: tairen
character notes: refer to the Bulgy Bears.
additional notes: who knows. this one may either be dropped or wait for another edit to incorporate.
Darkness Rising the Dragon
name: Darkness Rising/The Queen/The Darkness
species: Dragon (unknown)
gender: female
alliance: her own; her resurrection/rising is the alyen’s goal
character notes: she is dreadfully bad and destroying. she will, if released, wreak havoc and destroy the land, or at least wipe out every single tairen in existence.
additional notes: she was presumably trapped, either conscious or unconscious, in a way that only a particular ritual can release her. she is pure evil. the alyen refer to her as the Queen, while the tairen refer to her as the Darkness. Sheba is extremely set on no tairen ever calling her the Queen, because names are power.
Nadia the Rabbit
name: Nadia
species: Rabbit (Speaker)
gender: female
alliance: tairen
character notes: protector. protects the children and small ones. she also essentially teaches Taira of the tairen. one of her best and worst things is that she truly cares too much about everything and everyone. one life lost to literally save the rest of the world is too much for her.
additional notes: sister, from an earlier litter, of Taira. she stays in a lil area to take care of the lil ones of all sorts of different tairen fighters, she and others, but specifically her mainly. post battle, gets threatened >:D
Taira the Rabbit
name: Taira
species: Rabbit (Speaker)
gender: female
alliance: tairen
character notes: fearless and brave and bold and yet uncertain. she doesn’t know how the world works, she’s grown up basically on her own, with only Nadia for company apart from the silent. courageous and loving and hesitant and sometimes stubborn.
additional notes: main character. she is the one that is vital to the plot of the alyen. she is pushed by the plot, not her choice.
Lilac the Fox
name: Lilac
species: Fox (Speaker)
gender: female
alliance: tairen
character notes: absolutely lovely. would give her the world.
additional notes: Paddy's Rosie.
Jain the Magpie

One more complaint. I had the displeasure of being in the proximity of a truly brainrotten Julishtar fan on Discord.
They were discussing a chapter of the Oosawa manga in which Julius forcibly puts on an earring for Ishtar. Puncturing her skin and causing her to bleed. Now, a normal functioning person will look at this scene and realize that this is abuse. Ishtar is clearly in pain and uncomfortable, and allows herself to be in fear of what could happen to her (or loved ones) at the hands of a nonhuman agent capable and willing of mass murder with 0 remorse.
They justified this by saying Loptous numbed Ishtar's sensitivity to pain. Which straight did not happen in text at all, and contradicts the 2~3 panels of Ishtar, where she is obviously NOT NUMB TO PAIN. Even if this was somehow not true, if you know anything about piercing earlobes, then you understand that cleaning and disinfection are extremely important. I hope Ishtar got the opportunity to disinfect afterward, and no lasting damage happened. Also like, I don't know, ignoring another person's bodily autonomy and through coercion no less, is a not good thing.
Like it never occurred to this person that this "adorable" scene between a woman trapped in an emotionally damaging relationship in the hope of restoring her probably functionally dead boyfriend is not CUTE. Waiting her man to one day be the person he once was. I don't know magic circumstances aside, it would be normal for most people to not want to associate with their former partner after all that abuse.
But I assure you, the suffering is worth it when it comes to the happy times thereafter.
This person has 700+ followers on Twitter, one of the bigger active voices in Jugdral Twitter, and is horribly uncritical and unthinking.

The Shock Coil Theory
Tumblr media
Sylux’s Shock Coil is a weapon based off of the classic Tesla Coil concept; Thing from which arcs of lightning just shoot out from randomly, usually being drawn to any target(s) that enter range. The Shock Coil is said to be an “unauthorized prototype” that mysteriously disappeared from a Federation laboratory, like the suit he wears.
The phrasing makes it sound as if these were separate incidents; And they also sound a lot like the circumstances in which the Metroid egg was hatched and ‘lost’. Sylux really knows his way around a Federation facility… Furthermore, the fact that the Shock Coil is unauthorized makes me wonder if it’s a banned weapon; Meaning Sylux is wielding blatant evidence of the Federation being shady.
Corruption does mention a Horus Rebellion said to be ‘nasty business’ and it could just be a reference to Warhammer 40k, so I’ve heard, it could also be relevant.
Because to use an example from another piece of media, Star Wars had an Arc Pulse Generator that also functioned like the weaponized Tesla Coil trope…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This thing incinerated victims into ash. Its bolts were drawn to the unique alloy of their armor, but could also be programmed to target other materials as well. Because this armor was made of a unique substance, allies wouldn’t have to worry about being targeted.
What if the Horus Rebellion used a much larger version of the Shock Coil, meant to target multiple people at once? But its use was much less precise, and perhaps accidentally (or not) disintegrated civilians who weren’t supposed to be targeted. Maybe Federation troops were even caught in accidental friendly fire as well.
It could’ve been that the Shock Coil wasn’t tested properly, or maybe it did exactly what it was supposed to. But the wider Federation found out and decried it as a war crime, so the Shock Coil was banned. But some Feds still wanted to use it, so they funded unauthorized development of a perfected, handheld version of the Shock Coil; One that can only target one person at a time, but still deadly, and even capable of draining electricity to refuel itself and whatever it was attached to.
The Shock Coil refuels Sylux’s health whenever they use it; This suggests it drains something from its targets. Given the life force that Metroids drain is meant to be a total enigma, showcasing how advanced and enlightened the Chozo are, the Shock Coil probably relies on bioelectricity. All shocks are just a closed current, a loop, being established for electricity to run through; So the Shock Coil uses neutrinos to close that gap between itself and a target, cycling its and the victim’s bioelectricity in a constant loop the user is shielded from. The victim dies, and their bioelectricity is added to the Shock Coil, which then feeds whatever power suit or other device it’s linked up to.
Corruption also mentioned a Project Dread, whose name was a tongue in cheek reference. But its purpose was to use Metroids as a power source for weapons. If the barren planet and rainforest we see in Beyond are the same area on Sylux’s homeworld of Cylosis, at different points in time? What if the large-scale Shock Coil was used to harvest bioelectricity from the local fauna, in order to fuel whatever the Federation wanted? And this mass death led to the collapse of Cylosis’ ecosystem.
Hell what if they even knowingly murdered a native population for it? Or maybe it was an accident, maybe they didn’t know sapients, Sylux among them, were present beneath the foliage when they swept the Shock Coil across the surface of Cylosis. Maybe they used the power to fuel other weapons to further genocide in a positive feedback loop of destruction.
And the Space Pirates, who have no pretenses of ethics, wanted to do their own take but with Metroids, who can transfer the energy they’ve absorbed into other things if they’re willing; As seen with a Metroid who imprinted on Samus, and used the energy of her enemy to heal her.
Sylux has a Metroid that imprinted on them. They might hate the Space Pirates but they need them to perfect their failed Project Dread, and it’ll be a success because their Metroid will actually obey orders. Maybe they plan to build an enormous Shock Coil, and augment it with the Metroid to absorb all of the life from the Federation, before using that power to finish off what’s left.
This is where the Mochtroids come into play; Just one Metroid is not enough. Mochtroids can drain energy and are obedient; They lack the invulnerability and gripping power of actual Metroids but they don’t need that. Sylux needs energy; Even their own suit’s giant shoulder spikes might function like the Shock Coil, to drain multiple targets at once; Something to pair up with and augment the prototype that Sylux wields. Or the spikes are meant to emphasize the Shock Coil in resemblance.
So why time travel? Does Sylux plan to drain all of this energy to create a super weapon that can stop the Federation’s harvest? In Federation Force, which set up Sylux and their Metroid and the Space Pirates’ continued losses, we got the Doomseye; A giant ship with a giant laser to blow up capital ships.
Tumblr media
Maybe the Space Pirates will build another Doomseye and it’ll be even more powerful with Metroid/Mochtroid and Shock Coil compatibility. Maybe Sylux is here to harvest Cylosis itself, knowing their Homeworld’s fate is sealed regardless, but at least they can be the one to harness their home’s power (because if anyone is entitled to the blessings of Cylosis, if anyone is allowed to make that decision, Sylux is) to destroy the Federation with a weapon to make the Doomseye look like a firecracker. The weapon might not be a traditional laser, but a massive version of the Shock Coil to drain entire cities and fleets with; All as karmic revenge for Cylosis.
The only limitation to hypothetical weapons like that is sufficient power; Phazon could’ve made up for it, but it’s gone now. But vampiric assets can gather so much energy so easily… Normally, the time and power required is better spread out across multiple ships and soldiers, because you don’t need to invest in a cannon when a hammer is sufficient. But what Sylux needs is something to overwhelm the Federation totally and immediately; And with Mochtroids and the Shock Coil, the time and difficulty of acquiring such power has been drastically decreased…
Maybe Sylux dies sacrificing their own energy, which they may have a lot of given their ability to turn into the Lockjaw, to power a weapon to take down their enemies with; It could be the ultimate weapon itself, which while not powered enough for the intended goal, can spite a LOT of Federation ships by obliterating them. So the day is technically saved, the objective technically achieved, but Sylux manages to get a last laugh in by sacrificing a lot of Federation soldiers anyway.
(Sylux also destroys Samus’ gunship because Fuck You and that’s why she has to go back to using the older one from Echoes.)
