The Polar Tang rocks gently beneath your feet, the steady hum of the engine filling the otherwise silent space. You sit stiffly on a bench in the dining room, which is currently being used as a sort of meeting area.
On the other side of the table, Trafalgar Law watches you with a measured gaze, his tattooed fingers idly tapping against the hilt of Kikoku. Behind him stands the large, imposing figure of Bepo.
"You've been staring at us for thirty minutes." Law’s voice is dry, laced with a hint of impatience.
"Yeah," You mutter, eyes flicking nervously between the captain of the Heart Pirates and it’s first mate. "I’m… thinking."
Law sighs, dropping his elbows onto the table and leaning closer. "Thinking about what?"
Your lips press together. This is embarrassing. "About whether or not I actually want to join your crew."
"You practically jumped at the offer when I saved your life."
"Yeah, well, I didn't realize your first mate was a damn bear."
At that, Law blinks. His brow furrowing and a frown settling on his features. "What?"
Silence. Then, a slow exhale through Law’s nose. He pinches the bridge of it, like he’s suddenly developing a headache.
"You’re scared of Bepo."
"I'm cautious of Bepo," You correct with a scoff. "Which is perfectly reasonable, by the way."
This is something of a new experience.  Law has never met anyone who’s had issues with Bepo; whether it’s elderly or children.
Bepo is something of the poster child for the Heart Pirates; the one that even government officials seem to adore.
It doesn’t matter where they dock—whether it’s a bustling trade island or a tiny fishing village, Bepo is always met with open arms. Children tugging at his paws, old women fawning over his fur, and even hardened mercenaries found themselves offering him snacks.
That’s just how it is.
So this?
This is new.
Law watches as you stiffened the second Bepo so much as shifts in place. Your fingers twitch at your sides, as if resisting the urge to bolt. Your gaze never leave the mink—your expression caught somewhere between wide-eyed panic and calculated wariness.
Bepo himself looks absolutely devastated. His round ears flattened, amber eyes shimmering with confusion and hurt.
Law glances at Bepo for a moment, his mouth ticking at his sullen expression before he turns back towards you,  He stares at you like you have personally insulted his intelligence. "He's a mink."
"No. A polar bear."
"He's my navigator."
"He's still a polar bear."
Law lets out an exhausted sigh and runs a hand through his dark hair. "He’s also a pescatarian, if that helps you sleep at night."
You squint at him. "Is that a confirmed fact?"
"You think I’d keep a man-eating bear on my crew?"
"You seem like the type to not care as long as he follows orders," You grumble under your breath.
“What was that?”
“Nothing.”
Law groans, he can already feel a headache forming behind his eyes.  Perhaps he should just throw you off the ship- it would save him the trouble.
"You're a marine biologist." Law finally says, his voice calm measured. "You’ve made a living studying the ocean, analyzing the behaviors of all sorts of dangerous creatures—sharks, sea kings, poisonous jellyfish—"
"Yes." You nod firmly, arms crossed. "But none of those are polar bears."
Law nearly lets out a growl of annoyance, his hand tightening around his sword. "Bepo is not just a polar bear—"
"He's a talking polar bear," You interrupt once again, jabbing a finger towards the miffed animals. "Which makes him an intelligent predator. You do realize polar bears are one of the few animals that see humans as food, right?"
From his spot near the table, Bepo lets out an indignant huff. "I don’t eat people."
“Tch.”
Bepo’s ears flatten.
Law sighs, glancing between the two of you. This certainly wasn’t what he had expected when he had saved you.
He had found you stranded on a wrecked research ship, a brilliant marine biologist with a sharp mind and a sharper tongue.  Your ship had been obliterated by a sea king, and you were left clinging to a desk that was surprising buoyant.
Law had just happened to be sailing through the waters when he stumbled upon you.  And upon further investigation, he’d found out that you are a marine biologist, someone who would certainly be a worthy addition to the Heart Pirates.
You would be a valuable asset to his crew—you can identify plenty of marine plants and animals on a whim.  And it just so happens that Bepo was in need of a health provider.  Sure, Law could do the bare necessities for the polar bear, but at the end of the day: Bepo is an animal.  And Law is not a veterinarian.
You were practically a saving grace for the Heart Pirates- if not for the minor inconvenience that you were convinced his first mate was going to eat you.
"Look," Law said, his patience thinning. "You have nowhere else to go. The marines will assume you’re dead, and I’m offering you a place on my crew. You’d have access to research equipment, rare sea life, and more knowledge than you’d ever get working under the government."
You hesitated. He wasn’t wrong. The opportunity was once-in-a-lifetime, and the idea of working on a submarine—an actual functioning research station on the sea—was more tempting than you cared to admit.
But there was still the issue of the polar bear.
As if sensing your hesitation, Law ran a hand down his face. Then, before you could react, he turned toward Bepo.
"Sit."
Bepo immediately plopped onto the floor.
"Stay."
Bepo freezes in place, unmoving.
Law gestures toward him. "See? He follows orders. If he so much as looks at you the wrong way, I'll personally throw him overboard."
"Hey!" Bepo protests, a pout gracing his pudgy face.
You eye the bear suspiciously. He does look more pitiful than menacing. His fluffy ears twitch nervously, and his paws—massive paws that can probably crush a man’s skull—are curled in a way that seems… hesitant.
“What if he does off the rails one day?”
Your argument is weak, debating for the sake of your pride.
Law grits his teeth, shutting his eyes as he thinks through his options.  Finally he clicks his tongue and snaps his fingers, “Bepo, open.”
“Huh?”
“Tch. Open your mouth.”
Bepo hesitates for a split second before obeying, parting his jaw wide to reveal a set of sharp, pristine teeth—evidence of his predator status.
You immediately tense, your hands gripping the edge of the bench like you’re ready to bolt at a moment’s notice. "See! Look at those canines! He could tear a person apart!"
However, the marine biologist in you is practically jumping with joy.  You’ve never seen a polar bear with such exquisite teeth.  Perfectly white with no hint of decay or poor nutrition.  Bepo is certainly well taken care of.
Law pinches the bridge of his nose. "And yet, the only thing these teeth have been used for is apologizing too much."
Reaching up, Law wraps a hand around a pearly white fang.  Bepo makes a disgruntled sound but doesn’t pull away… or bite.
You watch intently, your muscles coiled, waiting for something—anything—to happen. For the snap of jaws, for instincts to override civility. For proof that your paranoia isn’t baseless.
“Captain… this is kind of awkward…”
Bepo’s voice is muffled as he speaks, all warbled as he carefully keeps his maw away from his Captain’s skin.
Law hums, releasing the fang and flicking his hand dry as if the entire exercise was a waste of his time. "Yeah? And yet, somehow, you still haven’t taken my arm off. Strange.”
“He could just be resisting now,” You argue weakly. “What if we get stranded somewhere? No food, no supplies. Then what? His instincts could take over—”
“I’m not going to eat anyone!” Bepo all but wails, looking on the verge of tears.
"You do realize that if Bepo actually wanted to eat people, we’d all be dead by now, right? You wouldn’t even be having this conversation. You’d just be a pile of bones in his stomach." Law slams his hands down on the table, seemingly sick of the conversation and your weak arguments.
Bepo makes a distressed noise at the thought. "Captain, please don’t say that…"
You hesitate, your paranoia warring with the facts being laid out before you. Bepo, for all his size and sharp teeth, doesn’t look predatory. His eyes are big and round, filled more with guilt than hunger. His jaw—while capable of incredible strength is wobbling, as if he’s about to cry.
You let out a long, reluctant sigh.
“I want locks on my doors.  Strong enough to withstand a polar bear.
Law stares at you, deadpan. “You’re on a submarine.”
“So?”
“So the walls are solid metal. You could lock yourself in a closet, and Bepo wouldn’t be able to get in.” He gestures vaguely. “Hell, we could be sinking, and that door wouldn’t budge.”
You cross your arms, unconvinced. “I want extra locks.
Bepo sniffles, ears twitching as he tries—and fails—not to look absolutely heartbroken. “I wouldn’t break into your room,” He mumbles, shifting uncomfortably. “I don’t even like being in small spaces.”
Law looks two seconds away from performing an impromptu lobotomy. He sniffs indignantly, muttering under his breath about how he must have terrible karma to be dealing with this. “Fine. Fine. I’ll have someone put extra locks on your door.”
You narrow your eyes. “Strong locks.”
“Reinforced locks,” He scoffs, waving a hand. “Happy?”
You hesitate, shooting Bepo one last wary glance before sighing. “I’ll think about it.”
Bepo perks up, amber eyes shining hopefully. “You mean you’ll stay?”
“I mean I might stay,” You correct, but the battle is already lost. You know it, Law knows it, and Bepo’s little tail practically wags behind him.
Law exhales like he’s finally been released from a curse. “Welcome to the Heart Pirates. Try not to scream every time you see Bepo.”

It had been three months, twenty-three days, and eight hours since Trafalgar Law last saw his crew—since the last time he saw you.
One foot after another, he strode carefully through the forest, following the directions of the small piece of paper on his palm that would lead him to his navigator. He knew that was where you and the rest of his crew would be, too.
At first glance, the forest seemed just like any other. Except the ground was not dirt, but rough, uneven skin that made walking difficult. The crowns of some of the trees grew in spherical formations, made up of curious, scale-like leaves.
Law still couldn't wrap his head around how he was treading on the back of an ancient, impossibly gigantic elephant. It seemed absurd, but granted, he had seen weirder things in his life.
His heart pounded faster the deeper he ventured into the forest. Then, finally, a telltale rustling from the bushes around him made him stop in his tracks.
A smirk crept up his face.
"Captain!!"
"You came for us!"
A chorus of excited shouts greeted him as the Heart Pirates rushed out, led by a blur of white fur in orange clothing.
Law leaned back, bracing himself as the polar bear mink body-slammed right into him, but the force still managed to knock the wind out of him.
"I missed you!" Bepo sobbed as he clung to his Captain, "All members of the Heart Pirates are here!"
"Oi, Bepo. Do you want to crush him?" Penguin chided, even though he, himself, couldn't hold back a grin at seeing his Captain and best friend again.
The quiet forest was instantly alive with the chatter of Heart Pirates, talking one over the other, and demanding to know whether the Captain was injured anywhere, what he had been up to since they were separated, and was it true that they were allies with the Straw Hats now?
Law tried his best to answer their questions in turn, but his focus was elsewhere. His eyes wandered, and his heart fell when you weren't anywhere in his line of sight.
Shachi eventually shushed the group, "We have plenty to catch up on. Let's go further into the forest for now."
As Penguin and Shachi ushered the crew back into the forest, they each gave your shoulders firm pats, wordlessly letting you know that they would keep the crew busy for a while to give you some privacy with the Captain.
And then, as the Hearts retreated, Law finally got a glimpse of you, standing rooted to your spot at the back of the group. His lips rose into an uncharacteristically gentle smile.
Alone at last, Law shortened the distance between you, “Hey."
His smile instantly dropped, however, when he was met with the slight pout and tremble of your lips.
The mere sight of him, the mere sound of his voice… You couldn't hold yourself together much longer, and hot tears started streaming down your face.
You opened your mouth, trying to say something, anything, but no words would come out. In your frustration, your fists ended up finding his chest, shoving and pounding weakly as you tried to control your sobs, to no avail.
To say that Law was stunned was an understatement.
His arms reached out, but he pulled back at the last second, unsure whether embracing you was the right thing to do at this moment.
"H-hey, what's wrong?"
Law didn't get it.
He was here, he was safe. Hadn't he fulfilled his promises to you?
He didn't get it—until you took a piece of paper out of your pocket, and brought it up to his eyeline, “I watched this burn, Law."
Oh.
With the Captain mending and on his way to full recovery, the paper was as whole and pristine as the day he gave it to you. It almost seemed like a hallucination, but only days ago, you had watched helplessly as it got smaller and smaller, the fire burning away as his life force weakened.
You were ready to take the Polar Tang and follow the Vivre Card to wherever Law was… if only you and the rest of the Hearts weren't also fighting for your lives, defending your navigator's hometown against Jack and the Beast Pirates.
Law never saw you cry like this, and certainly not over him. It felt like someone had taken his heart out of his chest and squeezed it—believe him, he knew exactly how that feels.
He admitted that he was not proud of how his emotions got the best of him during his fight with Doflamingo, back at Dressrosa. He was too rash, too reckless, and in doing so, he completely abandoned his promise to you to be careful.
He remembered lying there in a pool of his own blood, right arm completely severed from his body, screaming in agony while Doflamingo's menacing figure loomed over him.
He remembered how powerless he had felt.
It must've been then that the Vivre Card had started to burn. When his eyesight had gone blurry and the gaping wound on his arm had begun to go numb. When even Law himself was on the brink of giving up, thinking that he wouldn't make it out of there alive.
“I’m sorry, I didn't realize—” His voice cracked. His fingers twitched, yearning to reach for you, but he forced his hands to stay by his side. "I'm sorry."
Guilt and shame suddenly washed through you.
No, he shouldn't be the one saying sorry—not after what he must've gone through to get here.
You should've welcomed him with a long hug, with gentle kisses, with whispered words of comfort. But here you were instead, having a meltdown.
How could you let your first reaction to seeing him again be this? How could you let yourself be so overwhelmed by your own feelings that you didn't even stop to consider his?
Yet, try as you might, the tears just wouldn't stop flowing.
"No, I'm sorry." You let out another choked sob, "I'm sorry, I don't know why I can't stop crying."
You lifted your head, only to find his gaze already locked on you.
Law surged forward, and you met him halfway.
Strong arms wrapped around your body, whilst your shaking hands clung desperately to the clothes on his back. You buried your face into his chest, leaving wet stains all over his shirt.
They were tears of relief, you belatedly realized.
All of your fears, your worries, your unease—everything you had been trapping in a little bubble inside your heart burst open, washed away by the immense relief you felt the moment you saw him.
“I was so scared, Law.” You whispered your confession, “I-I didn't think I'd ever see you again."
“I’m sorry." Law's arms tighten around you, if that was even possible, "I should've been more careful.”
“No, don't apologize. Please." You let out a long sigh, "I'm really happy you're here.”
His lips landed on your temple, painfully reminiscent of the last kiss he gave you just before he left for Punk Hazard.
"You're here. You're safe." You repeated the words again and again like a mantra while you held on tight to him, to convince yourself that this was real—that this wasn't just another one of your dreams that had haunted you when he was away.
Of course, there were the countless nightmares where you lost him, which always had you waking up with cold sweat. But there were also dreams where he was home and safe in your arms, until you’d wake up and realize he wasn't actually there. The void of loneliness that came after those dreams was not something you'd ever want to experience again.
Law pulled back, just slightly, so he could take your face in. His brows furrowed as his fingers started to inadvertently fidget with your hair.
He looked like he wanted to say something, so you waited silently until he was ready to speak.
“Back in Dressrosa, when I—“ His words got stuck in his throat as the towering form of Doflamingo flashed again through his mind, "All I could think about was regrets."
He could still feel the thick, iron scent of blood invading his nose.
He could still feel the dust of the rubble invading his lungs as he desperately choked for air.
Law shut his eyes and rested his forehead against yours, "I regretted many things—how I couldn't avenge Cora-san, how I was not strong enough to defeat Doflamingo…"
"It doesn't matter anymore." You said, brushing your thumb across his cheek, "You did all that in the end. It's over now."
Before he left, you promised that you would be there for him when it was all over. That was a promise you very much intended to keep at all costs.
Law was quiet for a moment before he spoke up again.
“There was another thing I regretted.”
You noted the unexpected shift in his tone, how the softness was a stark contrast to the fiery determination behind his eyes.
"I thought about you," he admitted, covering your hand on his cheek with his own, "About how I would break all of our promises if I died. About how I longed to see you again, just one more time. About how stupid I was for not relying on you and the crew. About how much I wanted to get back to you."
He quickly continued, not letting you interrupt as he bared his heart, “I thought about how I regretted never telling you that… that I—"
He gulped. A speck of fear flickered across his eyes, but he didn't let it take over.
"That I love you."
Your breath morphed into a silent gasp, your heart skipping a beat before resuming its erratic rhythm.
"I promised myself that I would tell you, if I somehow survived. And I did. So…"
He cupped your face, his gaze sincere, and repeated, "I love you."
"Oh, Law." You whispered as tears started welling up in your eyes again.
You couldn't stop yourself from rushing in, your lips finally finding home in his. Law melted into you, love and longing outpouring from his every touch.
The kiss started out gentle, until the taste of you after months apart proved to be too much of a temptation for Law. A muffled groan escaped him, and he started chasing your lips with a hunger that surprised even himself.
Your hand dove into his thick hair, pulling him toward you in answer to his passion. One of Law's hands wandered to your waist, gently squeezing, while the other remained cradling your face with a startling tenderness.
Your lips parted, giving him permission to deepen the kiss, which he took up instantly.
Kissing Law was as natural as breathing. It felt like you had been doing this for ages, even though the first time you kissed was on the very eve of his departure.
The urge to get closer to each other got you stumbling over your own feet, and suddenly, your back was pressed against a tree, Law's hand cushioning your head from the coarse bark.
You could keep on kissing him forever, but there was something you needed to tell him first. So, reluctantly, you pulled away.
“In case that wasn't clear enough,” You said breathlessly against his lips, "That means I love you, too."
Law grinned—a genuinely joyful smile—before capturing your lips again. The kiss was short this time, almost playful, but it didn't fail to make your heart skip a beat anyway.
When you parted, you punched his chest lightly, “But don’t ever leave me again.”
“I'm not planning to.”
He chuckled and pulled you back into his embrace, hugging you so tightly that it made breathing difficult—not that you were complaining.
You stayed like that for a while, unmoving, greedily indulging in the closeness that you both had been craving the whole time you were apart.
“So, what now?” You finally broke the silence.
“Well, the next part of the plan is to take down Kaido in Wano.”
You looked up at him, but Law already knew what you were going to ask before you even opened your mouth.
"Don't worry, you're all coming with me." He reassured you, "I'm done doing things alone."
"Good." You rested your cheek back on his chest.
"Let's get back to the crew, shall we? I'm sure they're wondering what's taking us so long."
Speaking of the crew…
"Ah, just a heads up, some—well most, if not all of them have kinda figured out about…" Heat rose to your cheeks as you vaguely gestured between you and Law, "This. Us."
"Well, that makes it simpler, doesn't it? I don't plan to flaunt our… relationship to the crew, but I don't intend to hide it either." Law took your hand in his and kissed your knuckles, "I just want to be with you."
Your heart quickened. Who knew your Captain had it in him to be such a romantic?
"Unless, that's not what you want?" He added quickly, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
"No! I want to be with you too, Law." Your face warmed further at the thought of what a relationship with him would entail, "And I don't want to hide either."
He smiled, "Good."
You wrapped your arms around him again and sighed blissfully. Now that he was finally here, you were finding it difficult to not be touching him every damn second. Your crew would never let the two of you live it down if they ever saw you like this.
"Just brace yourself for endless teasing and interrogation from our nosy crewmates." You chuckled, "They got me good on our way here from Punk Hazard, and it’s just gonna get worse, now that you’re here."
Law sighed, already exhausted just thinking of what he would have to go through. Most of his crew would probably lay off the teasing with a sharp glare from him. Not Penguin and Shachi, though. They'd corner him and wouldn't let him go until he told them everything down to the very minute details.
But despite that, he smiled softly, giving you one last peck on the lips before he let you lead him deeper into the forest, where his crew was waiting.
He could endure some teasing, Law thought as he gripped your hand tightly. After all, he was here, he was safe, reunited with you and the rest of his Hearts.
And wherever his path would bring him next—in Wano and beyond—Law knew that you all would be there with him every step of the way.
That was truly all he ever needed.

Odd things have been surrounding the Straw Hats lately. Robin was the first to sense that something felt off, then Usopp second. After that, everyone else followed, raising their concerns one by one.
Turns out it was just Luffy sneaking into the kitchen for a midnight snack.
Once that was settled, the rest of the crew kept their guard down for the rest of their stay on the island, hopping off the Thousand Sunny and roaming around the capital.
Nico Robin, however, still feels iffy.
Luffy's appetite did not spike her radar, so she doubted it was the cause. Looking at their circumstances, though, she understands if everybody else just shrugged it off because they're preparing for yet another celebration, the excitement fogging their heads.
Still, she decides to keep an eye out, afraid that something might be after them.
Brook is the first to notice her vigilance.
"You seem to be worried about something, Robin-san."
Robin tells him of her suspicions. To her surprise, Brook agrees to help her, and together, they go about their days keeping watch.
Unbeknownst to them, inside a little cask stowed away at the corner of the Thousand Sunny's lawn deck, emerges a canine mink previously in hiding.
You lift the lid of the cask and scan your surroundings before deciding to hop off. The sun is gone and the sky is dark, while the ship of the Straw Hat Pirates is, for once, silent.
Taking a whiff of the fresh air blowing from the combers of sea, you stretch your limbs and crack your bones to prepare your body for the strenuous movements needed for your extravagant plan. A small smirk forms on your lips when you eye the door to your right.
You force yourself into the room, but end up leaving disappointed as you realize that you're in the men's quarters. You step out quickly, then race up the steps by the foremast to check the room on the upper level.
Kicking the door open, you instantly smell the items you're after.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the ship is the Straw Hats' cook, humming a soft tune to himself as he prepares tonight's dinner celebration for the entire crew and their acquainted islanders. In the middle of cooking, however, he smells something different in the air, and his senses start tingling.
He sets the gas stove on low and pokes his head out of the kitchen door, looking into the darkness to investigate the cause of his senses. When he's charmed by the scent, he pauses his cooking, promptly dashes out of the kitchen, and walks across the lawn.
That's when he notices the light emitting from the women's quarters. Faint and mysterious, Sanji decides to check it out, knowing well enough that Nami and Robin aren't on the ship at the moment. Suddenly, he runs into an equally confused Franky emerging from the basement, who quickly agrees to come with him to check the light.
When they get to the door, that's when they find the impostor.
"We got a thief!" yells Franky upon seeing you rummaging through Nami and Robin's items, your furry hands inches deep into the treasure chest that one of the girls has stationed beside the beds. Alarmed, you hop on your knees and throw two gigantic sacks of treasure on your back. "Aow! The thief is stealing Nami's treasure, and she's SUPER cute!"
Facing the two men by the door, you realize that you're trapped. Looking to your right, you find two portholes large enough for you to crawl out of.
Deciding to bail on your operation, you plead with the two men cutely, your eyes turning glossy and your eyebrows knitting together.
"Garchu!" you greet with your adorable puppy eyes. Realizing that you're a mink, the blond is immediately entranced, while the other stands his ground and doesn't react to your scheme.
Nonetheless, you hastily open the porthole and squeeze your sacks of treasure through them. Startled, the two men decide to go after you with the blue cyborg initiating the chase, but you're long gone from the Sunny by the time he forces his bulky metallic body through the opening.
Hopping off the ship, you look behind you with your tongue sticking out, barking in between laughs as you realize that they're chasing after you.
"My beautiful lady, wait up!" the blond man of the Straw Hats yells.
You make a face of disgust. "Ew, what's his problem?"
You make a beeline for the forest, dodging tree branches and obstacles swiftly to lose the men behind you, but they maintain their speed. You quicken your pace and head straight to the island capital, where you can hopefully blend into the crowds and disappear into the night.
As the festive crowd goes wild, mingling merrily with the Captain, sniper, musician, and talking reindeer of the Straw Hats, the top drinkers of the pirate crew congregate at the gazebo, where a competitive crowd cheers on their betted pirate. Nami wipes the corners of her mouth after having drunk another bottle dry, earning a snicker from Zoro, whose competitiveness coaxes him to grab another bottle of alcohol. Across from the two, Jinbe laughs heartily over his 15th cup, watching the chaos all go down.
Robin sits around a campfire with the island children, styling their hair into fishtail braids, when she feels something strange yet again. She looks behind her only to see Luffy and the others dancing around the pavilion, concluding that it might just be her paranoia talking.
She proves herself otherwise, however, once Franky and a heart-eyed Sanji emerge from the forest breathily.
"Aow! She's stealing our treasure!"
Robin looks across the pavilion and sees you, a canine mink, holding two fully loaded sacks of treasure and looking awfully similar to their friends back in Zou. You weave through the crowds with purpose, almost losing her attention, but she summons replicas of her hands on the ground where you walk, gripping your ankles.
Stumbling on your feet, you growl at the happenstance before leaping into the air forcefully, grabbing the attention of the many islanders around you. The music stops as gasps of surprise echo across the pavilion. Robin summons another handful of her limbs to restrain you, but you shock her with your Electro, allowing you to move around freely.
You land on top of the Straw Hats' Captain and sniper, knocking them on the ground with your two feet. Their reindeer and musician scream, and you pluck the pink cotton candy away from the reindeer's hands.
He starts crying, but you run away.
"MYYY LADYYY! Come back!"
Looking behind you, the blond cook from the Thousand Sunny is back on your trail with the blue-haired cyborg following him closely. You grumble under your breath and dash to the gazebo, where the crowd stays ignorant to the turn of events, too involved in the drinking competition they're hosting to care.
Suddenly, you leap across the table, triggering further chaos as you crash the competition. Jinbe and Nami scream, while Zoro ignores the commotion as he finishes the last of his alcohol.
"Give me that!"
You snatch the swordsman's cup and drink the last few drops of liquid, grimacing at the bitter taste. Angry, Zoro jumps to his feet and readies his swords to fight.
"Nami, that dog mink stole our treasure! Get her!"
At the sound of the cyborg's cries, you realize that you're in the presence of the woman whose room you were in earlier. Gulping, you hop off the table and sprint out of the gazebo. Nami, the woman with tangerine hair, begins to heat up at the news and reaches for her Clima-Tact.
To your luck, you're long gone from her sight before she could use her weapon. You head toward the maze of residences that engulf the city, taking sharp turns and running down alleyways to lose them.
Moments later, you run into a cute predicament.
"Stop right there! Freeze!"
A laugh erupts from your chest the moment you spot the Straw Hat's talking reindeer. He holds a small paw right in front of his other one in a kung fu stance, but he's so cute and tiny that you're incapable of feeling scared.
Looking at the cotton candy in your hand, a wicked idea comes to mind.
"Give back our treasure, you mink!" he growls.
"Ah, but that would just be upsetting." You feign a frown. "If I returned the treasure, will you-teia let me go?"
"Absolutely not!"
"Even with cotton candy?"
The reindeer's eyes soften as you wave the strawberry-flavored candy in your hand. His hands relax, and he slowly reaches out for it.
You hold it back.
"No can do. You-teia have to clean it first with water!"
You give him the candy and pull out a water bottle from your knapsack. With a wicked smile, you pour water onto the cotton candy, causing it to melt in the reindeer's hands until it's fully gone.
"All done! Enjoy!"
As you run past him in laughter, he realizes what you had just done, looking back and forth between the melted (practically non-existent) cotton candy in his hands and the spot where you once stood. Tears well up in his eyes a second time as he realizes that he just got fooled.
Two streets down from yours, an annoyed Zoro runs after a fuming Nami with her Clima-Tact out and ready to attack. Jinbe is on the other side of town with Brook and Usopp acting as lookouts. When she sees your tiny furry figure at the end of the street, the two humongous bags of the Straw Hats' precious treasure riding on your back, Nami erupts into flames and hurtles down the path to catch up to you.
You run faster. Suddenly, at an intersection where four streets meet at a marble sculpture of the island's ancient hero, appears the Straw Hats' idiot Captain and another one of his nakamas with the Paramecian Devil Fruit power, holding the talking reindeer in her arms.
"O-Oi, is this really the mink that made Chopper cry?" Luffy asks Robin as he looks at you confusedly. Chopper wails, flailing his hands around as rivers of tears flow down his face.
"T-That's her! S-She"—he sniffs—"she stole my cotton candy and made it disappear!"
The three watch you laugh, one arm clutching your stomach.
"There she is!" Franky's voice rings out from the street to the west, the creepy blond man running after him.
"Get the treasure and stop her, you idiots!" Nami commands from behind, and the Straw Hats follow immediately. You channel your Electro and shoot bolts toward them, effectively knocking them down besides Nami and their Captain. Nami unravels her Clima-Tact, generating a gigantic Thunder Ball of electrified air. She hurls the ball toward you, but you send it flying back with a magnified fist of your Electro.
"What do you think you're doing?! You can't do that to my crew!" Luffy hops on your head and blocks your line of sight. You scream.
"Get off me!" You push him off you as you run out of breath. Digging into your knapsack, you grab the piece of venison meat you were saving for dinner and shove it in his mouth. Luffy bites down on the meat, distracted, so you take the opportunity to leave, heading east.
Despite your attacks, the blond man of the crew—Sanji, you believe his name is—stands back up feebly and uses every bit of his energy to still run after you.
He closes the distance between you, but he's too slow to catch up as he sees you stand on the ledge of a stone bridge.
Turning around, you shoot him a wink, causing him to swoon.
"Bleh! Thanks for the treasure, Mugiwara! Garchu!"
Sticking your tongue out at the defeated crew, you dive into the river and swim toward the estuary leading to the sea, never to return with your treasure safe and secure behind you.

sweet words
trafalgar law x gf!reader
sfw, fluff!
warnings: some mention of blood
wc: 1.5k, lowercase intended!
law never expected for his words to have a strong effect on you. he decides to use them to his advantage when you’re refusing to listen.
⇣ credits to the original artist
Tumblr media
you and law still have a lot to learn about each other. granted you both have only recently decided to put a label on. you knew you both liked each other, but being asked to be with his felt like it took an eternity. nonetheless you two were ecstatic to finally be official after beating around the bush for months.
before making it official, law only really knew one side to you. that was the side that was meant for friends. he believed he would now see a different side of you, especially since he was more than just a friend. to his surprise he never saw a change in your behavior. you remained the same as when you both were friends. he found it strange, but in the end he decided not to press you about it. you probably will once you’re more comfortable. right? plus, he wasn’t one to talk much either. in fact, he seemed more refined than you had been since getting together.
he found you amusing, particularly your ability to refuse anyone's nonsense. your boldness and confidence made you stand out in these endless seas. with your bounty arguably high he often times found you handling rival pirates and their attacks with ease. you made it difficult for law to focus on his own battles. as worried he could be he still trusted you to not do anything rash.
unforeseen circumstances would soon cause that to change. worried crew- members rushed around the submarine to find law. one they found him, their words tumbling over one another in a chaotic attempt to communicate.
law felt uneasy when the mention of your name arose, “everyone be quiet. only one of you needs to speak so i can actually hear something.”
the crew looked at each other quietly until penguin cleared his throat, “y/n was keeping these pirate hunters away a-and…”
law felt a sudden heaviness form in his chest, “and what..? what happened to her?”
penguin kept his eyes glued to the ground, “she’s with bepo.. she was b-bleeding a lot…”
without a second thought law swiftly created the hand signals to activate his room and shambles. he moved himself to the land the submarine was docked next to.
he took in his surrounding, and saw bepo’s white fur l sitting down with back facing law’s direction. he made his was over to the bear without a second thought. his breath hitched as he saw you on the ground in a bruised and slightly bloody mess. law couldn’t tell if the majority of the fluid was your blood or of the pirate hunters. he dropped to his knees next to the bear to check your pulse. a sigh of relief parted from him as he felt the slow but steady beat against his finger tips.
bepo held you tight while tears trickled down his face, “i told her to be c-careful! now shes gonna die!”
you opened your eyes slowly and let a frail laugh out, “c’mon now.. i’m not gonna die from some stupid pirate hunters?”
law couldn’t conceal the relief that flushed over him, “you’re okay y/n-ya… don’t ever do something so reckless. especially without informing me first”
you sat up slowly and fixed yourself, “i was fine until their stupid devil fruit user. i should’ve knocked him into the water while i still had the chance.” you wince in your attempt to sit up. you held your pained side instinctively.
law spotted your pain immediately since his eyes were focused in your every movement, “i need to treat you y/n.”
you shook your head. you didn’t want to be perceived as weak. it would damage the strong front you’ve built for yourself. law knew you wouldn’t give in so easily, but your strong facade was the least of his concerns. he wouldn’t risk leaving you untreated.
you stood up from your seated position next to bepo. you ignored the minks protests and concerns. law watched as you swayed, struggling to keep your balance, until you ultimately fell back to the ground.
you hadn’t noticed you were falling to the ground until law reached out to grab you. he stayed in his seating position. and helped you to lay back down while resting your head on his lap. every fragile breath you took amplified the tattooed man’s concerns.
he moved strands of hair from your face, and carefully wiped as much dirt off as he could. he knew the only way to get you to listen was to talk you into it. he held your eye contact and spoke clearly, “i know you don’t want to y/n-ya, but you need to hear me out. you need to let me make sure you’re okay because you did so great protecting the submarine”
you looked up through your lashes and spoke tiredly, “i did great..?”
law hums lowly, “you did it better than i could’ve ever asked for. thank you for giving it your all baby.” he took one of your hands in his in order to hold it. never once breaking eye contact.
law didn’t expect for his words to work so well. he continued to use them to his advantage, “you did so amazing so in return im gonna make sure you’re well.”
your once smile broke off quickly, “i don’t need a check-up law! i’m fine!” you sit back up slowly, and turn your back to face him.
law knew he had to use his words more efficiently, “i know you dont think you need one, but it would mean a lot to me if you let me help you y/n.”
he recognized your walls faltering slowly. he helped you to stand then used his devil fruit to move you both inside the submarine. he helped you into the examination table while making sure to send his supportive words your way.
uneasiness was still painted on your face as he talked you into doing his basic checkup routine. as he was in the process of cleaning and covering your cuts he spoke out to you, “i know this is the last thing you want to do be doing, but i just want you to know that you’re doing great. it’s gonna be over soon.”
a slight blush crept to your face, “you really think so?”
law looks up from his task and flashes a small smile, “i really do think so. im proud of you for doing something you would rather want to avoid. this is better than just being physically strong sweetheart.”
he started to put away his supplies, and continue to look over the tests he had done. law had left the conversation to quiet down so his focused attention on his work.
you watched the man in front of you do all that he could to make sure you were feeling better. you broke the quiet as you spoke in a hushed tone, “could you say that again..?”
law looked up from his papers with a confused expression. the recent conversation had already left his mind, “say what?”
you cleared your throat, “what you called me just now.”
law recalled the conversation to find your reference, “the only thing i called you was sweetheart?”
your eyes lit up when he repeated it, “yeah that!” your tone went back hushed, “can you call me that again..?”
the man put away the remainder of equipment as he smirked. he stood in front of your seated figure, and put both his palms in the table next to your hips, “why should i? do you like when i call you that sweetheart?”
you kept your head down to hide your reddened face, “kinda…”
law wasn’t quite satisfied with your answer. he tilted your chin up to look at him, “yes or no y/n. do you want me to keep calling you sweetheart? does that make you happy?”
you couldn’t disguise the affect law’s words had on you. he had never talked to you this way, and you never expected to like these reassuring expressions, yet here you were with a pleading look to be told more.
you nod slowly trying to piece together a proper response, “i guess it does make me happy. it makes me feel warm and comforted..”
law chuckled at your response, “well i’m proud of you for telling me that you like it. i’ll use my words more often if its what pleases you darling. tell me what else you want to be called.”
your smile was increasing in appearance, “i don’t really know. i just know that i like it when you call me that.”
law chuckles again at your honesty, “its okay if you don’t know right now. we can always test and see what you enjoy hearing sweetheart. you just have to make sure you tell me when you do. can you promise to me that you will baby?”
you nodded fast at his proposal, “i promise i will”
he saw your growing smile that hinted at being please with his offer. although you were both new to the relationship, you knew that as time passed, you would discover more about each other and reveal different sides of yourselves. each moment together would promise deepened connections. this would make the journey of getting to know one another all the more exciting.

Usopp-centric Fic Recs
Here they are, @pinkcrittertomb! I combed through the Usopp-centric tag on Ao3 and picked out (most of the) fics that I personally liked. I was gonna post when I FULLY combed through it, but it's been months and the tag keeps growing (yayy!!) so I'mma just post the 50+ fics I've got rn 😅
If you (or anyone else!) have any you wanna add, feel free to reblog or comments them. Also tagging @wesleysniperking & @thenapmaster cuz I think you'd wanna see this<3
Ducks are Evil by The1WhoReads
One-shot, Modern AU, Math Savvy!Zoro trying (and failing) to tutor Usopp, and Usopp suffering because of it. Humorous, cute, and has Usopp Zoro & Luffy interactions.
Изобретение by Тюша (Tyusha)
One-shot. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's Russian, but it's worth using Google Translate! It's about Usopp in the Chopperman universe, so he's actually Usodabada, and it was honestly very enjoyable and touching and made me want more Chopperman Fanfics...the author also has LOTS of other Usopp-centered works.
The Sheep And The Lion by Corporal_MerryWeather
One-shot, Usopp & Merry & Sunny apparitions. really cute, him being able to see Merry show up as a little goat and later Sunny as a lion.
What makes a person? by Starlight_Adventurer
One-shot, Usopp is a goat mink (his mom's a mink, his dad's human) and he's angsting about his dad. Luffy comforts him<3
You could be my luck by yuukri
One-shot, Modern College AU, basically the East Blue 5 going on a grocery trip at 2 in the morning and it being the BEST slice of life everrr it is just SO. THEM.
Marked by truth by SaltyYagi
Multichapter. Truth Spells/Elixers/whatever are my JAM and here, Usopp is hit by a DF power of this very same ability. TW cuz Usopp is depressed & suicidal (and his crew find out about it)
Bar stories by SaltyYagi
TW sexual assault, multichapter. Usopp almost gets raped in a bar, and then deals with the aftermath. It's VERY well-written, and his reaction to what happened and his feelings I thought were very realistic! His crew, of course, is there for him.
Smoke by Ilkwrdthngsdntjudge
>>Usopp's stuck somewhere, and he can't breathe. He thinks maybe it's the smoke? But then why does his chest hurt?<< Idk what to say, this might be THE best fic on the list, SUPERRR well-written and the 2nd chapter is just so much fuN! 🙂(🫠) (multichapter)
With a 100% Win Rate by Just_Fifi
....you know what, this fic and Smoke might just be tied for best written fic on this list. This one-shot is slice of life CENTRAL!! Ft. Usopp & Kaya and the Usopp Pirates playing games, and Usopp With a (frustrating, for Kaya) 100% Win Rate. VERY enjoyable! (one-shot)
Seed of Doubt by ladykarasu
One-shot, the idea of it is actually DEPRESSING. (pun kinda intended) Perona wanted revenge so she placed a ghostie in Usopp so it continually chips at his resolve and the result is...well, see for yourself!
The Seer by TheMightiestPen
I just LOVE when fics capitalize on Usopp's 'prophecy' skills, and this one takes it to the max! Some horrifying stuff, lots of BEAUTIFUL nakamaship, and the best thing of all is that it's a series and the second fic has been recently posted and is updating frequently!
Deconstructed by LessonsFromMoths
🥲...I think the summary says it all. >>Usopp loves his nakama. Despite his constant fear, protecting them is second nature....apparently, so is dying for them.
In which Usopp dies. Right?<< (minor Kaya/Usopp, multichapter)
Head High by ChijikatotokaShikukute (catoandtonto)
TW bullying: the violent, disgusting, and humilating kind (poor Usopp...). There's also other stuff, I recommend checking the tags first. Ongoing. This fic is INSANE. Modern AU, highschool. Usopp & the crew fought and they haven't made up (kinda like a bad W7 ending) and I would classify this fic as a mystery, specifically to the audience cuz we have no idea what's going then find out more chapter by chapter and it's all VERY interesting. I don't think i'm doing it justice, but trust me bro
The Truth In Our Lies by CaptainJojo
One-shot. This. THIS is all I've ever wanted in 2,239 words. >>Usopp doesn't have eight thousand followers. He doesn't have any real stories. Does he even exist? Does it matter?<< We've got Usopp feeling low, and then the Monster trio confronting him and showing him he's loved GAH IT"S SO GOOD PLZ READ IT!!!!
Calm Inside the Storm by ChijikatotokaShikukute
Ongoing. Usopp's chillin' when he's suddenly greeted with Merry's spirit/ghost, who's there to help him cuz apparently he's DYING and wow, this is a lot, but it's SO good (and unintentially funny XD). Honestly, this author never misses!
Solidarity by deadlysoupy
TW self-harm. One-shot. Why Usopp wears his armbands. (I like this headcanon)
Of faults and care by orphan_account
One-shot, Luffy & Usopp fluff, honestly the sweetest! >>Every week they would gather together, just the two of them. They would share the things they love and compliment each other. They don't actually know where this habit had come from, but they never questioned it.<<
A boy’s savior by SaltyYagi
One-shot. Usopp as a Whitebeard pirate (cool concept) meets confronting Yasopp
First Kisses by auriferousxbee (this one's locked btw)
One-shot. SUPER cute Kaya/Usopp! Their first kiss =P
Usopp's Struggle: A Painful Accident on the Sunny! by UsoppFangirl1
One-shot. (the title & username is honestly perfect, just wanted to say that~) Usopp's ammunition explodes and he's badly hurt. I just LOVE how the crew is very worried about him!
the things only He sees. by arurun
Multichapter, completed. IT"S SO FRICKING HILARIOUS!!! Usopp can see the devil fruits' spirits, and at first it drives him crazy (Gomu is a BRAT) but they all like him and it's just so amusing to see him deal with this and his crewmates thinking he's a bit weird XD
The Greatest Treasure by Pirate_Giraffe
one-shot. Oh my god....this one is one of my favorites, straight up because it is HILARIOUS!!!! STRAIGHT UP CRACK OH MY GOD I FELT LIKE ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING XDDD Basically SHs arrive at Laugh Tale and the one piece is revealed...=)
You're Beatifuuul To Meeeeeee by e4679p
one-shot. short, but wholesomeness PERSONIFIED!!! >>After time-skip, Usopp finally thinks he has a chance with Kaya with his new mucled body and tell to his friends but Luffy disagree with him by saying he always had a chace meaning he was always beatiful and didn't need muscles (Off course Luffy is right)<<
Personally Confused by Ilkwrdthngsdntjudge
one-shot. >>An untold story of Usopp developing Dissociative Personality Disorder.<< I think it's very interesting! Would've loved if it was longer...
Name-calling, and it's side effects by Ilkwrdthngsdntjudge
one-shot. The crew start to notice Usopp's weird powers. Wonder where those came from...
Blood Bath by Ilkwrdthngsdntjudge
one-shot. You know what, at this point I just recommend checking out the writer, all their OP fics are centered around Usopp! This one is one of the...angstier ones. =( >>In which the Strawhats are captured, and Usopp makes a deal with their captors for his crew's safety and freedom.<<
Where do I actually belong? by Haiiro_lolz
One-shot. Usopp thinking about his nakama. The vibes here are interesting--him loving and admiring his family but then kinda putting himself down.
Rocking of the Waves by sinelanguage
One-shot. This fic is like a warm hug, or a balm to your soul. ILY USOPP YOURE SUCH A SWEETHEART!!! (Usopp & Crew stuff)
Pathfinding by sinelanguage
One-shot. Zoro & Usopp GOODNESS!!! I read this a while back and I LOVE IT, both are stuck in a marine base and Usopp has to remotely guide Zoro to where he is before the base explodes. Very nice stuff👍
strongest soldier by Nianinn
TW Self-harm, one-shot. ZORO & USOPP CONTENT LE'S GOOO!!! Also a sprinkle of Robin & Choppah looking out for Usopp ;)
Hard of hearing or hardly working? by SaltyYagi
One-shot, Usopp becomes Hard of Hearing after his stay at Boin, and his fam, of course, supports him (and learns a bit of ASL =)
The confrontation by Jazmin_Dreemur
One-shot, what if Luffy & Usopp met and spoke before the crew set sail? The writing is a bit wonky cuz I think it was translated but it's still a nice read and I think there should be more fics with this idea.
Scars you (don't) have to hide by TushaMG
TW self-harm, one-shot. 🥹Sanji & Usopp bonding cuz of their scars. Well-written.
An Attempt at Atonement by redriotinggg
One-shot. >>Usopp apologizes for abandoning his crew.<< Emotional, and also the crew affirming Usopp (he is very much wanted, and not cuz of his 'usefulness').
Negative thoughts won't leave me alone by Vagabonde
One-shot. Usopp is drunk and Sanji takes care of him. VERY cute and funny<3
Usopp's Egghead Revelations by A_Smort_Person
One-shot, set after chap. 1095. Usopp stumbles upon some Seraphim research and has an interesting relevation. . .
There's nowhere to hide from me by Vagabonde
One-shot & one of my FAVES! This is action-packed, all of it well-written and Usopp is the in the center of it all! Truly the MVP.
He's a Wonderful Sniper by Anonymous
One-shot. Usopp's having a bad day, and his thoughts spiral and he wishes that he never joined the Strawhats so he wouldn't be a burden to them. An ethereal being answers his call, and shows him how things would've gone if he never joined. Well-done, and I honestly there were more fics that explored an AU where Usopp never joined.
days fade into a watercolor blur by eat_crow
One-shot. Depression hits Usopp like a hammer, and he just can't find it in himself to get out of bed. Thankfully his nakama always have his back, and in this case that nakama is Sanji (!!! LOVE their relationship and this fic!)
Jump In, the Water's Great! by Urndearing
Multichapter, ongoing. In this (INCREDIBLE) fic, Usopp isn't the sole focus but there's lots of attention given to him cuz the sirens do, after all, bring out everyone's worst fears and insecurities, and poor Usopp's got a lot of those. Could not recommend more!
The Love Life of Lady Long Nose by crackerjackermackeral
Multichapter, ongoing. This one's a RIOT! It's fem!Usopp and every chapter is about her in a different pairing. Everything's really well-written and also funny & cute, and the best part is you can just skip around to whatever pairing you're interested in!
The Coward's Redemption by Brucenorris007
Multichapter, ongoing, last update 2022 tho =( I just finished reading the first chapter and OH MY GOD AM I BLOWN AWAY!!!! It's a time travel fic where Usopp is sent back to fix things by Coby and so far, it's INCREDIBLY well-written!
I'm Sorry Too(2) by LastOblivion
Multichapter, ongoing, last update 2023 =(( BUT! You *MUST* read this! All Usopp fans, in this fic Usopp gets lots of love (and apologies) from his crewmates, and it's so incredibly sweet! Everyone is VERY in-character and it if doesn't make you go "aww" at least once then I'll eat my hat! (plz don't make me, it's my only one...)
In hollow towers and empty hives by SaltyYagi
Multichapter. >>Usopp is is a foul mood with no seeming reason, Zoro decides to figure out why.<< Cute Z&U actions, with some hurt/comfort as well. I really love this author and their Usopp fics, half of those are on here XD
Would you show up for me now? by IluvVaporeon
TW suicide mention, one-shot. Usopp writes a suicide letter to his bum of a dad (doesn't send it, of course) and I remember liking how passive-aggressive it was.
"House of Gold" by EMA_literature
One-shot, songfic. Usopp tells Chopper (and his eavesdropping crewmates) about his mom. Short & sweet!
bountiful treasures by Nomadstarlight
One-shot, 17k words of chaos & hilarity! The SHs are bounty hunters and this is all from Usopp's POV--his journey is honestly incredible and that ending DELIVERED XD
Grilled Fish for the Sniper's Soul by carmerlin
One-shot. Usopp breaks his foot and Luffy & Sanji (& the rest, but the focus is on these two) are taking care of him. GOD this is incredible! Wonderful characterization and very humerous--also the little Sanji moments are 👌
The Restless Barber of Syrup by Evilgu
One-shot, Wild Wild West AU. Literally the BEST THING EVER!! Everything from the setting to the characterization to the plot (it's not a repurposed Kuro) is wonderful, and Usopp really shines!
Merry in a Bottle by BeccasStoriesToTellInTheDark
One-shot, Minor Kaya/Usopp. This is an Usopp&crew-come-back-to-Syrup-Villaige fic and it is PHENOMENAL. There's Usopp & Kaya, Usopp & the Vegetables, and Usopp & Crew moments and they are all wonderful! Very slice of life, feelgood read.
Consumed by Kooabreen
Multi-chapter, ongoing as of writing this. This is a modern AU horror fic that is EXPERTLY written, even better cuz it's from Usopp's POV. I don't wanna say too much, so just trust me on this!
Your Protector by character-studious-drabbles (character_studious)
Drabble. >>Usopp has nightmares. Then he stops. (He never figures out the reason why.)<< I'm only gonna link this one fic but check out their rest! They've got a bunch of nice drabbles for Usopp, and the Strawhats in general.

The Devil.
That's what Hawkins thought when Kaidou stood in the crater he left on Kid's base.
"And did you have any such reminders? Warnings?"
Curious how he drew so many cards every day, but one pull from years ago shot to the surface of his memory.
It wasn't very fair, now that Hawkins had seen Kaidou's son and appreciated the horns were ogre, not infernal, but tarot was a book of archetypes embedded in his mind from adolescence. You embodied pages and queens, Strength and the Sun depending on the day, while he was a knight or a king, often the Fool or now, the Hermit.
You'd say something rational, historical. That the Devil in his deck had some literary forebear, that he wasn't anything to fear. But Hawkins was always a bit more literal than you. He saw Kaidou doublefisting gourds of sake, and the card's traditional definition of hedonism and indulgence walked before him, roaring about Eustass Kid and Straw Hat.
"Because you're known for your excesses."
Hawkins doesn't mind the Land of Wano. He hasn't had so much rice since he left home, left your family's hearth. That curious bleeding heart of yours wouldn't stand for it, though, at whose expense Hawkins and the Beasts Pirates ate so well. Your ancestral land was somewhere to the south of here, on the equator that sliced the Grand Line into wedges. Wano's borders, in practice, were only closed to the World Government, and Wanoan pirates weren't as rare as Kozuki Oden would make them seem, some even traversing the Calm Belt to Kano's shores. But they were part of the reason your great grandparents' generation risked the Calm Belt themselves: piracy between non-affiliated nations was no one's problem.
Hawkins didn't have much empathy to spare when he was more worried about his crew. He stored Faust's Vivre Card in his pauldron and yours in a pocket sewn into the inside of his every shirt. Faust's was a recent addition since Hawkins entered this alliance, a pit stop made before docking at Kid's base to watch the broadcast from Punk Hazard. Hawkins instructed Faust that at the first sign of trouble, the Mink was to manhandle as many of the men back onto the Grudge Dolph as possible and disembark immediately, leaving their captain behind. While Kid's subordinates went through a cavalcade of horrors, Hawkins had dubious comfort of seeing his vice captain's Vivre Card wax and wane and wobble in circles as they tried to navigate the New World.
Don't come. Don't rescue me.
This was it for him.
At night, he set these scraps of paper on the floor by his futon and fell asleep watching them twitch and spark. Yours was torn in half, half on the Grudge Dolph. If Faust had any sense, he'd find you and tell you what happened to your captain; if he had any luck, you'd navigate them back to the North Blue yourself. Your Vivre Card was almost always whole, only singed at the edges with periodic exhaustion that healed over with a night's sleep, he assumed, and it always pointed west toward the Red Line.
🜄
The first year without you was hell.
They had no democratic way to use your bed besides letting your office-room become a sort of second sick bay or a guest room. You left a copy of your log there; you'd always kept parallel notes and charts, which was only sensible archival practice, but Hawkins couldn't help but think you anticipated leaving from the very start.
Irrational as it was, Hawkins looked for you everywhere, on his ship, in his cards, on land, as if you'd follow them like rumors about your fortunetelling claimed: that you weren't a pirate yourself, but a spectre on his trail. Hawkins' Witch. Spectre was more right, the way you haunted him.
That rumor didn't follow him to the New World, replaced by a reputation for brutality. In some ways, he was free: from your judgment, or more like your pain, your cursed empathy. After dismembering those pirates at Foodvalten, Hawkins was tense, waiting for you to bear down on him, but you didn't. And the silence ached.
Hawkins missed having another reader aboard. Most of the crew knew, at least, the Major Arcana, but Faust's knowledge of the Minor Arcana was rudimentary at best, and the Mink didn't care for divination, more taken with astronomy and the phases of the moon, nature and its cycles. You would counter his interpretations entirely, or pull from one of your own decks with insights he'd never think of, that he disagreed with, your stubborn way of shuffling only uprights.
And he missed you in his bed. Sex was a tertiary interest to the sound of your breathing, the scent of your perfume after a shower, your fingers idly combing through his hair, and knowing you were safe as you could be for the night, in his arms.
🜄
Hawkins doesn't often think the women of Wano resemble you. Their culture was too distinct, and Wano's climate too variable for that to be the case. Your skin was darker, your eyes infinitesimally rounder, and your hair had more texture. Beyond rice, the cuisine wasn't quite like your family's, either, so he felt like a guest in the wrong house.
The children made him think of you, though. How none of them stuck out, how alien you were to your North Blue village. Hawkins supposed the equivalent would be himself growing up here, or your homeland. He knew he was alien here, all the Beasts Pirates were, and you'd disapprove for the same reason you'd shook your head over headlines about Alabasta: "Pirates aren't imperialists. We're not supposed to stay on land, much less rule it."
Somewhere between the stars and the sea, you cultivated quite the political vocabulary. He would have attributed it to arguing with those Marine cadets you met while he was gone, but now he saw the conditions of a World Government non-affiliate and thought, with some irony, it was a wonder you were a pirate and not a revolutionary. Hawkins was grateful you chose the former, if only for a while.
Speaking of Marines, X Drake sometimes got in a friendly mood, usually if he had a bit of sake. Hawkins knew it was loneliness rather than fondness, missing his transparently obvious brothers-in-arms in the Navy, and Hawkins was the closest thing he had to a peer as a new addition to the Beasts Pirates.
Hawkins indulged in one drink. It was your birthday, and he hoped you were having one, too.
"What about you, Hawkins? Got anyone waiting for you?"
He regretted it already.
"Come on. Pretty boy. Some women are into that."
Hawkins' lip curled at what he knew Drake meant as a compliment, but smarted from childhood. "You're drunk."
"Oh? So there's a woman? I remember—" Drake hiccuped. "Your crew was all men. A girl at home? Or that witch?"
He said it facetiously, and Hawkins was glad to know the Navy wasn't interested enough to pursue you.
"I'm leaving."
"Don't you want to make it out? Get back to her?" Drake called after him.
Idiot. Awful spy.
Kizaru all but blew the Zoan user's cover at Sabaody. Hawkins tried to discern his allegiance only to be led in circles by the Seven of Cups, the Five of Swords, and the Moon. It all screamed not to trust the other Supernova.
Hawkins didn't trust anyone outside his crew, not Kid or Apoo for a single second of that alliance. (Of course his crew always includes you.) What possessed him to enter it, anyway? The fraternity of Sabaody two years prior? That was certainly Apoo's angle. Did Hawkins really think they or he stood a chance against Red-Haired? Kid lost to him once already. Why Red-Haired? Because he was one of the younger yonkou? Now that Hawkins made regularly contact with Kaidou, he laughed at the idea.
If Kaidou was the Devil, Red-Haired must be the Emperor. Big Mom was a grotesque sort of Empress, the Taurean goddess's logical extreme. And something about Blackbeard lying in wait all those years was like the Hanged Man.
The Hanged Man heals himself before returning from limbo, stronger and more ambitious than before, but Hawkins isn't like Teach. So he takes the hand he was dealt and returns to Kuri, thinking of you.
🜄
"Captain."
You didn't need to announce yourself as you stepped in the shower behind him. He smiled to himself, not turning around but stooping slightly for you to comb conditioner through his hair. You made a fond, exaggerated noise of annoyance.
"You're welcome."
"Thank you," he said, and he tried not to audibly react to your touch.
"How have you managed without me?"
You meant the years of only being crewmates, but Hawkins revisits these moments from your too-brief reunion like they're burn scars.
You didn't mean to be cruel. You were hurting, and he could help. But he looked at your empty room, or a gap in his wardrobe that he knew you were responsible for, and cursed you. How dare you remind him what he missed. How dare you dangle a dream he'd forgotten and then run away.
There's public bathhouses in Wano, mixed-gender, and Hawkins imagines walking into one with you, even as crewmates, not even touching each other, and any man or woman who coveted you would see the distinctive black cross between your shoulders, as large as the one at his throat and know you belonged to him first.
The thought of you moving on made him ill, moreso than whoever you slept with when he first traveled the North Blue, moreso than the one-night stands you sometimes had after you broke up. It meant he really was suspended here, and the world spun on while he didn't, Wano didn't, clutched as it was in its shogunate and Kaidou's claws.
The other Headliners made frequent visits to the Flower Capital's hanamichi, and Hawkins saw how young some of the geisha and maiko were outside these tea houses and became possessed by your bleeding heart. He wondered what you'd say. It wasn't necessarily sex work, and these women and girls could be as well-educated as you. It more reminded him how you called tarot a party trick; that an astrological reading was a kind of show; that you must have also used your beauty to draw clients. What did you say about your career reading cards in port cities? "It helps to be exotic."
The way some of the Beasts Pirates looked at the geisha reminded him of the leers he tried to shield you from, physically with the breadth of his body or forcefully with his Devil Fruit. You tolerated it depending on your intimacy at the moment, and welcomed it more before you left. To some degree, you hid in him, the new you who'd killed, the new you who'd survived.
He told himself you were happy, you were walking in the light, you were safe.
🜄
Hawkins didn't need to draw a single card to know Straw Hat's landing in Wano marked a major change.
When he tried calculating the younger pirate's chances of surviving Akainu, he drew several confounding spreads, and no matter how he shuffled the same two Major Arcana cropped up: Death and the Sun. Back then, Hawkins discerned Death signified Trafalgar Law, and the Sun came from Jinbe, First Son of the Sea's crew, the two men that fled Marineford with the injured Straw Hat.
But.
Every few mornings since your birthday, Hawkins pulled Death.
Where Straw Hat was lately, the Surgeon of Death was surely near. But Hawkins wasn't that naive. Something was ending: Hawkins' life, the Kurozumi clan, the shogunate, Wano's isolation, something.
Your cards were almost pedestrian. The Ace of Cups. The Two of Swords. The King of Coins. A choice, a new chance, presented by an older person, an earth sign. Hawkins didn't go around asking people's birth dates like you did. He didn't know Kaidou's, he didn't know Kid's or Apoo's, Drake's or any of his fellow Headliners'. He knew his crew's because you kept track.
Hitokiri Kamazo, he thought ironically as he looked at the Two of Swords.
The early morning before Himatsuri, your Vivre Card looks brand new, like it wasn't haphazardly torn but sold in a half sheet. It damn near glows in the darkness of Hawkins' room. Was it possible to become more alive? Only you could.
He wonders if you even look at his, and knows you must, at least every few days. You were too soft not to. He wonders if it reacts to his lost Straw Dolls, or Trafalgar bisecting him, and he wants to explain himself. You'd scold him or punch him over it, but hug him, always grateful for a false alarm.
Or maybe you were complete because you were without him, because you'd forgotten him. In that case, he can sail to Onigashima with a clear conscience. He'll serve, like the Hermit ought to, alone and without complaint.

Reclaiming Hope
Tumblr media
Law x reader (one use of y/n)
Summary: In the aftermath of a crushing defeat by Blackbeard, Trafalgar Law grapples with overwhelming guilt and self-doubt, haunted by the fear that his crew might be lost forever. With the Strawhats’ help, Law’s crew is rescued, and he takes comfort in knowing that you are alive.
Words: 2.1k
Notes: We don't know for sure what happened to the crew, and I don't think they were taken hostage, but that didn't stop me from writing that story. (In my mind, they're all alive and will reunite soon)

Trafalgar Law felt a sharp pang of shame as memories of his crew's defeat at Blackbeard's hands flooded his mind. He knew he should be grateful for Bepo's timely intervention, but all he could focus on was his overwhelming sense of failure. The nagging thought that, had he been stronger, his crew would still be safe clung to him relentlessly.
“Damn it,” he muttered. “I should’ve done more… I should’ve been stronger.”
Despite the weight of his self-doubt, Law knew he couldn’t afford to sink into despair. Every second wasted could mean his crew drifting further, unreachable—if they were even still alive. The uncertainty gnawed at him, like a ravenous beast.
The only thing Law could be certain of was that Bepo was still by his side. The loyal polar bear mink remained a reliable source of emotional support, and yet, Law couldn't help but feel like a burden.
He glanced at Bepo, whose usual cheerful expression was now overshadowed by concern. Guilt tightened in Law’s chest—Bepo had gone through so much to save him, yet here he was, drowning in self-pity.
“Bepo” Law began. “I know I’ve been a wreck since we lost to Blackbeard. I just… I can't shake this feeling of helplessness. Not knowing if my crew survived is tearing me apart.”
Bepo’s eyes softened as he placed a comforting paw on Law’s shoulder. “Captain, I get it,” he said gently. “But you can’t let this guilt consume you. We have to believe the crew is still alive. We’ll find them together.”
Law exhaled heavily, knowing Bepo was right. “I know… but it’s hard to hold on to hope when we don’t even know where to start looking,” he muttered, running a hand through his dark hair in frustration.
After days of aimless wandering, Law stumbled upon an unexpected sight—the Jolly Roger of the Strawhat pirates fluttering in the wind. It was a twist of fate he hadn't anticipated, but he knew he couldn’t afford to let the opportunity slip away.
Standing before the Strawhat crew, his usual confident demeanor carried a trace of desperation. With a steadying breath, he recounted everything that had happened since his crew's fateful clash with Blackbeard, leaving no detail untold.
The Strawhats surprisingly listened in silence, their expressions growing more serious as they absorbed the weight of Law's words. When he finally finished, a tense stillness hung in the air.
Luffy broke it with a resolute slam of his fist into his palm, “We can’t let Blackbeard get away with this. Your crew fought bravely—they don’t deserve this.”
With the unexpected support of the Strawhat pirates, Law and Bepo set sail alongside them, their mission clear: confront Blackbeard and rescue Law's crew from captivity. Though the road ahead was fraught with uncertainty, Law felt a flicker of hope. With the Strawhats by his side, they just might have a chance against the ruthless Blackbeard.
As they neared their destination, Blackbeard, and his crew awaited them, a mocking smile curling on the pirate captain's lips as he spotted their approach.
“Well, well, if it isn't Trafalgar Law and Strawhats, I wondered when you'd show up.” Blackbeard sneered.
The Strawhat pirates bristled at the provocation, but Law remained resolute, his eyes locked on Blackbeard. This fight was inevitable.
“We've come for my crew.”
Blackbeard let out a low, chilling laugh, the sound sending a shiver down Law’s spine. “Your crew? They're safe with me. But if you want them back, you'll have to earn it,” he taunted.
Luffy, never one to shy away from a challenge, stepped forward with fists clenched and a fierce gleam in his eyes. “We're not leaving without them,” he declared, signaling the start of the battle.
The air crackled with tension as the crews collided, the clanging of weapons and grunts of effort filling the battlefield.
Law found himself in the thick of the fight, his strikes driven by a volatile blend of desperation and rage. Each blow landed on Blackbeard's crew felt like a small victory, but Blackbeard himself seemed maddeningly untouchable, dodging and countering with ease.
Despite the insurmountable odds stacked against them, the Straw Hat Pirates fought with an unyielding, unshakable resolve. Their attacks, once erratic in their intensity, now flowed with a seamless precision. Even amidst the chaos, the crew’s bond was evident, their spirits unbowed, refusing to surrender. The fire in Luffy’s eyes, the determination in every crew member’s stance— it reminded Law of the same burning resolve that had driven him in his own journey.
After what felt like an eternity of fierce battling, the tide began to turn in their favor. Law watched as, one by one, Blackbeard's crew members fell, their bodies sprawled battered and defeated across the deck.
Amid the chaos, Law noticed something that sent a wave of relief through him—his crew, now free from their captor, had arrived on the scene. Their grateful eyes were locked on him, and he realized that one of the Strawhat pirates had freed them during the heat of battle.
Seeing his crew, bruised yet standing strong, filled Law with a tremendous sense of gratitude. The sight of their familiar faces—each marked by injury but unbroken—was more than he could have hoped for, and their presence felt like a heavy weight being lifted off his shoulders.
Law turned toward Luffy, his respect for the Straw Hat captain higher than he ever suspected it could be.
“Thank you,” Law said simply, his voice sincere. “For helping me save my crew.”
With the chaos of battle finally behind them, Law turned his attention to his crew. He moved through the group, checking on each member to ensure they were relatively unharmed. Law couldn't suppress a small smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth. They had made it. Although they were bruised and battered, they were alive and, at last, safe.
As Law examined his crew, a pang of anxiety struck him—someone was missing. He scanned the faces of his crew, searching for the familiar face.
The realization hit him hard. Where were you?
“Hey,” Law's voice cut through the post-battle celebration. “Where’s y/n?”
A hush fell over the group. His question hung in the air like a dark cloud, casting a shadow over their victory. The crew exchanged worried glances, but no one had an answer.
Then, a quiet voice answered from a short-distance away. You stood there, your expression unreadable, your body a canvas of cuts and bruises.
“Here.”
Law’s eyes widened as he took in your battered form. He felt anger rising within him. He rushed toward you, his gaze scanning your body for injuries, trying to assess the damage as quickly as possible.
Your skin was covered in cuts and bruises, each one a sign of the brutal battle you’d just fought. Blood stained your clothes, and the exhaustion in your stance was evident. Yet, despite the visible toll of the struggle, one thing stood out above all else—you were alive.
That fact alone was enough to release the tight knot in his chest, though the anger still simmered beneath the surface. You’d made it through, and that’s what mattered most.
He moved closer, his gaze still  fixed on the injuries, and gently touched your shoulder. “Are you okay?”
You chose to ignore his question about your well-being, instead offering a small, strained smile.
“I’m just happy to see you,” you murmured softly, your voice carrying an undertone of warmth despite the apparent pain.
Though your words seemed casual, Law wasn’t fooled. He noticed the subtle tension in your eyes and the way they betrayed the exhaustion you were trying to hide behind this brave exterior.
“Come on,” he said, his tone firm. “I’m not taking no for an answer. You need to be examined properly. You must get checked out to make sure there’s nothing more serious going on.”
His voice carried authority, making it clear that he wasn’t going to let you dismiss your injuries. So you followed.
Upon entering the infirmary, Law helped you onto one of the beds. He then set about gathering supplies—antiseptics, bandages, and other essentials needed.
As he tended to your injuries, Law’s hands moved with practiced precision, each motion deliberate and careful. His fingers deftly applied antiseptic and wrapped bandages with a steady, experienced touch. Even with his focused attention on the task at hand, he couldn’t help but frequently steal glances at your face.
Each time he looked up, he was met with the sight of you trying to stay still, yet your expression betrayed the strain you were under. The tension in your features was obvious, manifesting as subtle furrows in your brow and the occasional tightening of your lips. Every muscle in your face seemed to be working hard to maintain some sort of composure, but Law could clearly see the underlying discomfort and fatigue you were battling.
As Law tended to your injuries, a storm of emotions raged inside him. The overwhelming relief that you were still alive, despite the brutal wounds you’d suffered, was almost too much to bear. His fingers brushed against your skin, each touch a reminder of the fight he had just gone through to get you back. The weight of it all pressed on him—every scar, every bruise, all the things he always tried so hard to prevent now staring back at him.
His usually controlled, stoic demeanor faltered in moments like this. There was an undeniable tenderness in his touch, a subtle gentleness that slipped through his hardened exterior, betraying the depth of what he was feeling. His focus never wavered as he carefully cleaned and bandaged your wounds, but there was something in the way his hands moved, something soft, that showed how much he cared.
Once Law had finished attending to the last of your cuts, a tranquil silence settled over the room, punctuated only by the sounds of your breathing. It was in this stillness that your voice broke through, “I didn’t get the chance to tell you something.”
Law, still holding the medical supplies in his hands, looked up. His gaze met yours, his brow furrowing slightly in curiosity.
“What is it?” he asked, setting aside the bandages and ointments to give you his undivided attention.
You offered him a playful smile, your eyes twinkling with mischief. “You made a hot woman,” you said, referring to the brief, odd moment before your battle with Blackbeard when he had temporarily transformed into a woman.
Law’s eyes widened in shock at your unexpected remark. He had almost forgotten about that peculiar incident, a fleeting transformation that had occurred in the midst of your preparations.
“Seriously?” he responded after a moment, his usually gruff voice softened by a tone of incredulous affection. “You’re bringing that up now, of all times?”
It was so like you—catching him off guard, even in the most tense and serious of moments.
“You’re ridiculous,”  he muttered, trying to sound exasperated, but the words slipped out with an unmistakable tenderness that he couldn’t quite mask. Despite himself, despite the weight of everything that had just transpired, there was something in your presence that had a way of easing the pressure on his chest. A small, private moment of relief amidst the chaos. And secretly, he cherished it more than he cared to admit.
You met his gaze with a broad grin, your eyes sparkling with warmth, and for a second, it felt like everything else in the world had faded away. “I know I’m ridiculous. But you still missed me.”
It was as if you had peeled back layers of armor he thought were impenetrable, revealing how well you truly understood him. The conviction in your voice, coupled with the warmth in your eyes, made it impossible for him to hold onto the cold detachment he was so accustomed to.
“Yeah, well,” he muttered, his voice softer and accented by a rare vulnerability. “Maybe I did.”
The admission hung in the air, a simple, raw truth that he had never allowed himself to say out loud. He was always the one in control, the one who kept his emotions at a distance, but in front of you, it felt almost impossible to maintain that distance. His gaze lingered on you, no longer guarded but filled with something far more genuine—a deep, unspoken devotion that could not be concealed.

Cockblocked in Wano Pt.5 (final part)
Reader x Law
*sorry this took forever to write, my mental health started declining pretty bad the last couple of months. Luckily for you, that's part of the reason why I decided to finally finish this series. I need an escape and distraction ever since the election and all the crazy stuff going on lately with family and friends. If you feel the same, just know you're not alone 🖤*
CW- Smut, spoilers for One Piece, MDNI, 18 plus ONLY
It felt as if the weight of the world just shifted. Luckily for the pirate-ninja-samurai-mink alliance, it had shifted in their favor. The mission to save Wano from Kaidos control had finally been accomplished. When the Straw Hats liberate an oppressed country, you know what time it is!
Party time!
As you wandered around the festival, you began to hunt down only one man after reuniting with your crew. You had your hair down, and changed your clothes except for one kimono you had been pridefully wearing since your first night with the Surgeon of Death. You had a black bikini top with a see-through fishnet shirt on top with a pair of black skintight jeans. On top of all of that, you wore Laws kimono, open to allow your outfit of choice to be on full display. The kimono had not made it unscathed, unfortunately, but you still felt the need to ask if you could keep it. You knew you couldn't ask to be on Laws crew, no matter how much it hurt to admit. You took an oath when you chose to become a Straw Hat, and you were loyal to a fault. So, with swift urgency, and lingering dissapointment, you looked for the love of a lifetime that had graced you.
There he was. Waiting in line with Bepo for yet another treat to add to the mountain of snacks the adorable bear had already collected. Looking slightly annoyed and definitely a bit worn, Law was looking straight ahead until he felt a light tug on his yellow sleeve.
When his eyes met yours, his face immediately softened. You would never know how grateful he was that you had made it out of battle with only a few scratches and bruises. He felt relief washes over him, and even relaxed his shoulders a little.
"Hey, you wouldn't happen to have seen my husband around here, would ya?" You teased with a little giggle.
"I think I saw the smartest and handsomest destroyer of Emperors head towards that alley over there,"
"Well, perhaps I should go look for him. I was planning to have some alone time with him after all,"
"That sounds like a great idea," Law then turned to the sparkly eyed Polar bear next to his side.
"Bepo, are you going to be alright if I go take care of some things?"
Bepo was doing what he could to contain his excitement. He had never seen Law so infatuated with anyone like he was with you. Not to mention, there was only two more people ahead of them in line, it wouldn't hurt to wait a little more alone. He could easily find Shachi and Penguin causing a ruckus during the festival.
"Of course Captain!" Bepo replied happily.
"Let's go," Law turned back to you, grabbed your hand and led you towards that alley he had pointed out.
Once you got to the alley, it became apparent you both weren't the only ones looking for privacy. The alley had quite a few couples in it, some just talking, some wrapped up and limbs tangled with eachothers. This was no longer the ideal setting. Law looked up one of the buildings for a second.
"Room"
"Shambles"
And just like that, you were on the roof of the previously mentioned building.
It was a marvelous sight.
The streets glowed with golden lights, and it was so beautiful with how it contrasted to the now calm and blue starry sky. Then, the fireworks happened. As the fireworks lit up the dark sky, it made the golden glow of below and the dark above combine into a beautiful harmony of lights.
Distracted by the breathtaking view, you didn't notice Law was looking at you until he wrapped an arm around you.
"Beautiful, huh?"
"Beautiful doesnt even begin to describe it,"
Your smile beamed up at him. The scene before him made his aches and pains worth it. If he couldn't have you by his side forever, he at least wanted this to be the way he'd always remember you.
"Hey, Law?"
"Yes?"
"So I know I kinda got it torn and messed up a little, but did you want me to return your kimono?"
You pouted as you looked back down at the fabric draped on your shoulders.
"You can keep it,"
"Yeah. Gotta give you something to remember me by,"
"Oh, like I could ever forget you,"
You didn't want this moment to end. You wanted this night to last forever. It felt like the end, but it was just the beginning of the night you'd share.
"I know I can't ask you to join my crew, and I know we're supposed to go back to being 'enemies' after we all leave the island. However, if the day comes and Luffy actually does become King of the Pirates, and the Straw Hats disband...please come find me,"
His eyes yearned for you as he spoke.
"Or, if I hear news of your crew disbanding, I'll come find you. That is, if that's what you want,".
You pondered for a moment as you searched his eyes.
"You know...I was planning to do that even if you hadn't asked me to. If I had met you before Luffy, maybe things would've turned out differently. But maybe...maybe this is just how it was supposed to happen. I'm just happy I met you back on Punk Hazard. It was an unexpected joy to get to know you, and even greater that I've gotten to be so close with you,".
Law took your lips with his own. When did he fall so hard for you? When did you fall for him?
And why did fate have to seperate you after finally bringing you both together?
As the kiss started wholesome, it became hungry and hungrier. Knowing that you wouldn't have much time left, you both began to feel a certain sense of urgency. You stopped to take a breath.
"Hey, wanna continue this somewhere else. Where we're less likely to get interrupted. I think I might actually lose it if we get interrupted again,"
Law laughed at that.
"Yes, definitely. I couldn't agree more. How about the Polar Tang? It should be empty since I let the crew party tonight. Being on a sub for months makes them like being out as much as possible,".
And with that, Law got you both back on the ground, and head towards the docked yellow sub.
Once on the sub, Law led you to his bedroom.
"Promise to lock the door to take extra measures?"
"Already ahead of ya, sweetness,".
And with that, he locked the door, turned back to you and practically pounced.
Stripping down all while making out, it was messy. Far messier than the previous times before.
As Law pushed you onto the bed, he got on his knees in front of you.
"I think its my turn to return the favor to you fully now,"
And with that, he pulled down what remained of your underwear, he pulled you to his face.
He started slowly lick at your folds, wanting to taste you before devouring you. And then he lost control. Licking and sucking. You couldnt hold back the moans as he made quick work of you. Then he latched and bit on your thighs. This made you yelp a little. That just spurred him on more.
Taking two of his fingers he watched as he circled your clit. He then went back to eating you out and kept using his fingers to bring you to the edge. Right when you got close, he stopped.
"Lawwww," you whined from the lost contact, "Plea-". You were cut off as he switched the roles of his tounge and fingers, and began fingering you as he licked and sucked on your clit. You felt your release begin to wash over you. Moaning and panting as Law kept going. You saw pure white.
You had to pull Law by his hair to get him off of you, the oversensitivity was too much to bear. He whimpered as you lifted his head. That just made you want him more. You quickly sat up to bring your face to his, he moaned into your mouth as you made out with him. Tasting yourself on him, you couldn't wait anymore. You help pull him up to his feet, turned him around and pushed his back to the mattress.
He was always a sight to see. Panting, eyes burning, he was exhausted but the desire in his expression didn't show a single sign of wanting to stop now. You held his gaze as you wobbly crawled on top of him, he snickered a little.
"What's funny?" you pouted at him a little.
"Just that we only just started and you're already having trouble moving,"
"We also just fought a freakin' war against Emperors of the sea,"
"True true. Sorry, it's fun to tease you, y/n,".
Once you were fully on top of him, you couldn't help but kiss the smugness off of his face.
Snaking your hand down between you and him, you wrapped your fingers around him, making him groan at the contact of you finally touching him where he needed you most.
You lined him up with your entrance, and at an unbearably slow pace you began to sink down on him. He broke the kiss, hissing and trying to fight back the whimpers threatening to leave his throat.
Once finally taking him whole, you began a slow movement until you found a nice rhythm. You wanted this to last and also drag it out long enough to have him begging for you. Something that had begun faster than you thought it would.
"Pl-please, please, please move a little faster,"
"Where's the fun in tha-,".
He cut you off before you could have the satisfaction of teasing him back. He dug his heels into the mattress, grabbed your hips, and started thrusting up into you with restless abandonment.
He couldn't wait anymore. Not when this could be the last time he'd ever have you like this.
You were seeing stars. Starting to lose your balance, you searched for anything to hold onto and decided it'd be best to find support using Laws chest. You leaned down to press yourself chest to chest with him. This new position allowed you to see his neck, and it looked extremely appealing. Kissing his neck turned into licking and biting, leaving marks all over his pretty tanned skin. You were so focused on ruining his neck that you almost missed the way he started whimpering again.
He started slowing his thrusts again to change positions. Now you were on your back, looking up at him. You were both sweaty, desperate messes. Taking and giving everything you had to eachother.
He looked down to line himself back up with you and made his way back to being whole again. Without taking more than a minute or two, he started back up the dangerous pace he had before.
Pulling your legs up and onto his shoulders as much as he good, he started hitting that sweet spot, causing you to arch your back up off the bed. It didn't take long for your climax to be reached for the second time tonight. Little did you know that it definitely wouldn't be the last time this very night either.
Not long after you, he followed suit, your orgasm caused your grip to tighten on him and he couldn't hold back anymore.
After painting your insides, he collapsed next to you, struggling to catch his breath.
A few minutes passed until Law spoke up.
"Thank you for looking for me. I didn't know if it'd be the right thing to see you again before we left Wano. I was worried it would just hurt worse...and it might. But, I don't regret it,"
"I didn't know if it'd really be the best idea either, but I think it was worth the risk. It's nice that there wasn't any inconveniences this time,"
"Hell, if someone does try to show up, I don't care anymore. I'm not holding back when I have no clue when I'm going to see you again,"
"Oooooo~, promise?"
"Promise,".
Law scooped you up into his arms and snuggled against you. You could both feel the beginning of fatigue creeping it's way in.
"Hey, Law?"
"Yes, sweetness?"
"I...I think I'm in love with you,"
"The feelings mutual,".
If only you could see the smirk on his face. He finally had you all to himself. If only for a short while.

I love the Heart Pirates 🥰♥️. Would you write sth for the relationship Law and his crew (especially Bepo🐻)? Does Law love his crew just the same as he loves Cora?
Sure, this will be that post :D there isn't that many Hearts Pirates scenes in the manga, so it will probably end up being more Hearts appreciation post than strict analysis :) but I will do my best! Also I will use some neat quotes from the novel, in case you want to skip those they're all written in italics so it's easy to avoid them!
Also really sorry it took me forever to get to this ask!
Tumblr media
Let's introduce our power rangers Sora-fanboying crew. That idea probably got born all the way back in the North Blue, when Law, Bepo, Penguin and Shachi were living together as children and sharing stories and talking into late night hours before falling asleep.
Tumblr media
First of all, Hearts Pirates are strategists. All crewmates know their roles they have to play in a battle. There's always someone responsible for the Polar Tang, usually it's Hakugan (taking care of the ship so it doesn't get damaged is essential, because that ship is not only their means of travelling but also their home). There are people responsible for providing cover (Shachi and Penguin, Law's most trusted guys besides Bepo). There is a bodyguard - Jean Bart (or should I call him a tank? :D), making sure Law doesn't get hit when preparing powerful counterattacks.
Second of all, the biggest strength of Heart Pirates isn't their individual feats, fighting skills or not even their ace in the sleeve - the overpowered captain. Their true strength lies in their teamwork. They always work like a team, supporting each other and cooperating to help Law win his battles.
Hearts are apparently very strong in sea battles. Seems their usual strategy is to go for sinking the enemy's ship (very sly and effective). They're also good at fighting in the water, which is refreshing in comparison to many other crews depending solely on devil fruits powers.
Also RIP Polar Tang :(
Tumblr media
Bepo has actually the most jobs to do, surprisingly. He's the navigator, he's the main attacker who often plays support for Law, but he also uses his mink/animal senses to track down enemies and instruct where each crewmate is needed! He's definitely very reliable.
Tumblr media
“Sorry, I got nothing. If only I was a smarter polar bear… I’m no use, I should just disappear.”
“Hah hah! Just having strong legs doesn’t make you the best at peddling, Bepo. Man, you really are clumsy. You were so wobbly I thought for sure you were going to crash. It was scary just watching you!”
“Hm, you’re right. I wonder why I can’t ride a bike to save my life… I’ll just leave and figure my life out then.”
Despite Bepo's poor self-esteem, he's a really good fighter. Bepo's kung-fu (bear-fu? :D) fighting style is so unique too. Law often trusts him to "take care of things". Bepo has also one more powerful ace up his sleeve, his sulong form, though apparently he can't control it at all. It's only thanks to Chopper's rumble ball that Bepo was able to control his form for the very first time, without even a full moon visible in the sky.
Tumblr media
Of course Bepo is also a very outstanding navigator. I mean, I dare you all to try to draw a better map with those huge paws! They're not exactly suited to hold a pen!
I do have to mention though that Law had a momentary pause before finding their current location ("around here") on this map, haha. He would never admit it though. He's so proud of his navigator! Also, keeping that map with him must have made Law happy, because he got reminded of Bepo even when he wasn't with him.
It's so tattered too and needed some tapes ;-;
Tumblr media
Bepo is also, sort of, second in command after Law. He's responsible for new recruits who work directly under him. That gives us some sort of insight in how the hierarchy works in Hearts crew. There is Law whose word is absolute, then Bepo, then Shachi and Penguin, then the rest, then the fresh recruits.
It's not quite like in Strawhats where everyone is more or less equal in their positions. Even in the novel Law sometimes calls them friends and sometimes underlings, but in Punk Hazard and Egghead he instead calls them "nakama" (his crewmates, companions), so that apparently has changed at some point as Law grew up.
These two are my subordinates! I won’t let scum like you call them “things”!
I let out a large sigh. I have to keep it together. I have to protect my underlings. My friends.
Bepo, Penguin, Shachi. I told you to be my underlings, so I have a responsibility as your boss.
As much as Law treats his Heart Pirates as equals, his responsibility over them makes him take a higher position over them. But he doesn't interfere much in how they organize things around each other. Bepo took it on himself to be the second in command and Law never protested or questioned that. Basically their importance in the crew is based on the order in which they joined.
“Hold on, both of you ate three pieces and I only had two! You guys are new here, so you should be putting me first!” (Bepo complains while Law thinks to himself:) I should have just given them all equal portions to begin with instead of piling everything on a single plate; that’s what I think as I quietly shovel my fourth piece into my mouth.
Law himself is a bit sneaky, he might think he should make sure things are more equal around his crew, but at the end of the day he just doesn't do anything about it. They're free to do whatever they want. That's the type of captain he is.
When Wolf is out of the house, the four of us work on the farm, go fishing, clean, and do the laundry. During free time, each of us will focus on the things we want to do. I spend most of my time reading medical books and learning how to use my power. Bepo uses his time to study navigation. Penguin and Shachi simply have a desire to get stronger. But since their way of doing things didn’t allow them to improve, I had to borrow weapons from Wolf and teach them swordsmanship and gunnery. Seeing someone I'm teaching getting better at it is more rewarding than I thought it would be. Whenever I see how happy Penguin or Shachi are when they hit the bullseye, I can’t help but smile.
Law also trained them all by himself.
Tumblr media
But back to Bepo. He's also a bit of a silly bear who needs to be looked after. He doesn't stand the heat very well, he's a bit of a slow thinker, he also panicks very easily and often calls out to Law to save him or stay with him. And that feeling is usually mutual, because Law also wants to take care of him:
“Don’t worry, Bepo. Even if you get injured and covered in blood, I’ll fix you up at the clinic.”
“Assuming I do get injured! Aye-aye!”
Hah hah. What a goof.
Bepo is a bit like a younger sibling to Law, he can be strong but also very clumsy and silly, and it for sure appeals to Law's protective side. He kinda stepped up (it was probably subconsciously) to be a temporary older brother figure for him in absence of Zepo. He was ready to throw away his Wano's raid plans just because Bepo had a stomachache and asked him to stay by his side. Bepo is also the only person Law has any sort of physical closeness with. Those two grew really close with each other.
Tumblr media
But Bepo is dependable when it matters. He was also a guardian of Whale Forest back on Zou, so Law isn't the only one who recognizes that quality in Bepo.
“Law, I brought you some hot tea. It’s made with tea from the old man’s garden. He said it helps calm nerves.”
“Thank you, Bepo.”
“No problem. You’ve been having nightmares a lot lately.”
“I know. I must be worrying Penguin and Shachi too.”
“You don’t want to talk about it?” Bepo asked with an earnest look on his face.
“No; right now, I can’t get my own thoughts together, sorry.”
“It’s fine. But I’m here if you ever want to talk about it.”
Law is close friends with Penguin and Shachi as well, but it seems it's Bepo he confides in most of the time. It might be because Bepo shows his concern and care very openly, making it especially hard for Law to refuse or dismiss it. And it's a good thing, because Law really needs someone openly caring and loving like Bepo in his life.
Tumblr media
Bepo is clearly higher in command than Penguin and Shachi, and they both respect him despite the rocky beginning of their friendship:
“That's what you thought while they beat you?”
“Yes. I thought if I let them do it, maybe we could become friends.” Friends. It’s a word I hadn't heard in a long time. I no longer have any. They were all burned in a fire. (…) As my mind wanders, I begin to wonder why a polar bear is here, alone. Actually, if I think about it, he’s probably just like I had been before. I've become a little more interested in his situation.
Tumblr media
Law's crew respects him and looks up to him, but they also voice out their own opinions and approvals or lack there of. They also occassionally allow themselves some really lewd comments, like in the picture above :D I bet you anything they would also call out Law on acting cute if they saw him with Chopper strapped to his head.
Tumblr media
Damn, Penguin even looks like he's a bit jealous of Chopper's position. They fanboy Law so much despite being slightly older than him!
Tumblr media
Shachi and Penguin are Law's intel and watchers. Penguin seems to be the smarter one out of the two of them, basing it on the rational comments he makes. But Shachi's skills in the water are also nothing to sneeze at! And as a bonus skill, Shachi apparently cuts the hair for others in the crew.
“Hey, you two.” I call Shachi and Penguin calmly. “You have nowhere to go, do you? I know you can't go back to your relatives' house either.”
“That is the only place we would never return to.”
“Alright; then you won't. Be my subordinates. And for now, you can live here.”
The four of us—myself, Bepo, Penguin and Shachi—have experienced immense loneliness in this world, and somehow managed to overcome despair.
I think it's possible Law recruited everyone in his crew in similar fashion (of course his first three friends remain special regardless). He seems to have easier time to relate to people who know how despair feels like and he wants to help them leave that feeling behind, to see things from a different perspective, to show them that no matter what, there are still probably other ways out, and if there aren't, he will make one happen.
Tumblr media
Heart Pirates are also responsible for lesser tasks so that Law himself doesn't have to do it, like keeping an eye on Luffy.
Tumblr media
Some Hearts, like Clione, Uni and Ikkaku even disagreed with the idea of the alliance. At first I thought Law told his crew that they don't have to get along with the Strawhats, because he respected that some might feel uncomfortable doing that, but nah, in the end it was just payback for Luffy not introducing Law to his own crew properly.
It's not the only time Law's crew complained to him so directly. When they were supposed to enter the New World, Law told them they need to wait and that they need to shut up and listen to him, because they should trust his plans. Despite his crew's big enthusiasm and competitive spirit, they were actually a bit scared to enter the New World, because when they saw beasts in the calm belt they definitely panicked a bit. So Law's decision was probably the right course of action.
Bepo also isn't afraid to scold his captain, when Law stares at yonko instead of escaping Marineford or when he chooses to drop down the waterfall in Wano. Law always seems to win each and every time tho. They also have no fear on calling him out for showing off ;)
Tumblr media
Let's not forget that despite the fact that Heart Pirates can voice their complains openly, they were still kinda left in the dark and learned about the alliance from the newspaper. Ouchie, Law :D Nami might have a point when she said Law is just like Luffy.
Tumblr media
They're very loyal, not only to Law, but to each other as well. They also share their duties on Polar Tang, like cleaning or maintaining the submarine, all together.
“You… no, the lot of you can really help others without asking anything in return, huh.” (Wolf about Law, Shachi, Penguin and Bepo)
Tumblr media
Shachi, Penguin and Bepo always accompany Law wherever he goes.
Tumblr media
His whole crew protects him whenever they can.
Tumblr media
And of course they love him so much. Law might be a grumpy captain, but he for sure returns the love he received from them, in his own way. Let's not forget Bepo, Penguin and Shachi were there for him when he lost everyone again, after what happened to Cora-san. They basically supported each other in their biggest time of need.
Tumblr media
Despite some of them protesting, they all get along with Strawhats in that alliance in the end :) Hearts are also very fun loving people, who definitely like to party :D
Tumblr media
Law might be quite overprotective about his crew, but he does trust them enough to take care of themselves and pick their own battles in the Onigashima's raid. Hearts also worry for Law a lot and cheer him on and celebrate his won battles ❤
“Hmph. Well, alright then. It’s just that when you’re not feeling well, the rest of the lot are out of it too.” (Wolfe said this to Law, suggesting that whenever Law is feeling under the weather, it affects his friends)
I have to act strong. I have to act cool. If I stay gloomy in this situation, the other three will continue to live in fear. I can’t let that happen. (Law to himself)
At first Law didn't think much about his responsibility over his crew, he learned that along the way and thanks to Wolf's guidance. He decided to do everything he can so he can protect his friends and show them that they can rely on him, and they make sure to return the favour.
Tumblr media
Now let's take a moment to celebrate Penguin and Shachi being little horny perverts ;)
In the end, I'm the only one scolded by Wolf. Bepo and the other two look at me like they are sorry, but I know that tomorrow things will be exactly the same. Since we’ve been living together, I’ve learned that these three will forget their transgressions in a day’s time.
This is probably another reason why Law chooses to ignore most of Hearts antics :D
Tumblr media
I gotta say Shachi is certainly having hots for Penguin, basing it on this image ;) or at least he would be even more into him if he had, well, bigger tits.
Tumblr media
Now we all know Law left his crew on Zou so that Doflamingo doesn't use them against him in the fight. But did you ever wonder why Law recruited Jean Bart into his crew? Saving a slave is one thing, but taking him into his crew is another. I think Law cares for his crew so much that he recruited someone strong and experienced as a captain who can take care of them in case Law can't (in time of need when he's missing in action, but also in case something went horribly wrong and they would be left without a captain). Recruiting Jean Bart was a strategic move and I believe it's to make sure someone takes care of the Heart Pirates in Law's absence.
“I definitely want to see my brother," Bepo said after a long silence. “It’s fun living here with everyone and all, but sometimes I think of him. I wonder if he’s doing okay, or if something happened to him. That’s why I’ve continued studying navigation since I got here. I’m terrible at it, but I can finally draw maps. So I definitely want to set out to find my brother some day, I think.”
This is one of the reasons why Heart Pirates ventured into Grand Line, besides Law's motivation to fullfill Cora-san's wish. He actually made sure to fullfill Bepo's wish before his very own one!
And finally, to answer your second question in the ask: does Law love his Heart Pirates as much as he loves Cora-san? I will allow Law to speak for himself, quoting the novel:
What was Cora-san for me? We had no blood relationship, and we didn't even know each other that long. Yet somehow, we were family. A love that could be felt without even putting it into words. I was wondering if I could love someone like that again. If I stay with Junk-ya and the bear, can I come to love them? Or will it continue to be a give and take relationship, as the old man says, where we just use each other?
After Wolf signed his name, we all followed suit. Seeing all our names next to each other on the paper, it’s strange. It is almost like we were a family.
Actually, we all looked happy, myself included. This place is definitely irreplaceable to me, I realized once again.
I can’t keep looking backwards; I have to move forward. Together with the happiness of being with friends, no matter how much I waver.
I found some salted fish that was on sale, so I bought it. In my head popped the pleasantly surprised faces of Bepo and the old man, and the expressions I imagined soon became my own.
Two months have flown by since the five of us started this life together. Eating meals, bathing, thinking of games to play, and bullshitting together under the same roof. It's the type of life I had never experienced until now.
But I have friends now—I have people who can allow me to forget the pain and the rage by distracting me with stupid things. That’s all I need.
And in case you wonder how did Law ask them to become a pirate crew together, here you go:
“I'll be leaving the island in a week. What do you want to do?” I ask them the question, trying to stay as natural as possible. “I will not force you to do anything. You can very well continue to lead the same life, to eat with the old man by exchanging jokes and get on with your job in town. Only, if… if you ever… wanted to come, then… that… that would help me a lot.”
(and after they all enthusiasthically agree:)
“Alright, I know I can count on you. That's all I'm saying.”
And from that moment on, Law gives them a name: Heart Pirates. Because they're a crew that belongs to Law, but also to Cora-san, and that's the meaning behind the name. If Cora-san lived, Hearts would be *his* crew as well. In some alternative reality, they could all be happy together sailing the seas.
So I guess, my final answer is: Law loves them because he found friends in them, his new family, and he wished he could share this happiness with Cora-san as well. I doubt there are many people out there who would get that privileage! Heart Pirates are definitely irreplaceable to him.

S-Leopard or... Leo! He only ever emotes to Bepo for some time lol.
OC Omi is She/Any nonbinary
🔞 Bluesky 💃
S-Leopard or S-Seal headcanons/speculation because fun or something-- under cut
So, I'm highly doubting this seraphim exists for various reasons. Two being:
1) Law was not part of the first 7 warlords
2) The Op Op Fruit would be god damn op
3 (edit): lmao the recent anime episode reminded me they were shown all 7 seraphim pods. However, this *is* a special case, so who freaking knows.
Leo is likely not the first of the S-Leopard model to exist thanks to the ability to grant immortality. One work around I assume is maybe the seraphim can be "repaired"?
Hence...
Since these seraphim may have been multi-produced to give people immortality, they may not have been given the whole hyper-aging or gigantification the other seraphim experience.
While he obviously takes most after Law, he also has some traits of King as the other seraphim do.
Leo has...
Incredible strength & training
The ability to memorize entire books within seconds to minutes.
Adaptability to new techniques or battle styles.
A smaller replica of Kikoku
A love for soft & cute animals (resulting in Bepo being his "favorite" parent but mom's a close second since she's a mink too.)
A serious personality + is impulsive and short tempered
A love for knowledge / Medical knowledge
Law's core beliefs such as not directly killing people unnecessarily
Some of Law's core memories (although vague) of the Donquixote family.
A similar taste pallet and dress preference to Law (and King)
I like to think since seraphim are cyborgs they have humanity. Leo tends to gather his morals the more he reads about things like psychology, social studies, history, ext as well as the Heart Pirates' influences.

Hi there! Just wanted to say i really like your writing!! I also really like the fics that you’ve been writing about Law suffering😭I just find them so entertaining and I enjoy them. So i was kinda wondering if maybe you could write something for him where like him and the reader are already in a pre established relationship. And then just one day the reader completely disappears without saying anything to him or the crew, she just full on goes off the radar. And then!Hear me out! 🙏🏻She was pregnant the whole time and she had the baby! Law then hears about her after seeing on the Newspaper that the reader formed her own crew and became a member of the Worst Generation. Of course he saw her on Sabaody but didn’t get the chance to approach her not until after the timeskip☝🏻 Like their crews run into each other and that’s when Law and the reader meet again and he sees a small child at her side.
I think that would be really cool if you could write that☝🏻Maybe even have other parts to it! You can come up with the rest! But obviously the reader is a very powerful and influential Pirate. ANYWAYS THANK YOU!!
Thank you for the request, I always love writing for Law and I hope you enjoy it too.
Warnings/Tags:

Law back story spoilers
And small Zou spoilers.

Law X Reader (Reader runs away pregnant and becomes her own pirate)
Narrator POV
After Cora had died it took a lot for Law to trust again, yes he had Bepo but he isn't a human, he's a mink and they're more kinder than humans. Then Law met you, also a lonely kid that had no one so you both stuck together. And eventually he managed to open his heart up to you and confessed his feelings, and you accepted and he thought that everything would be okay.
Once the heart pirates were established you became his head nurse. It was a nerve wracking time for him but you were always there to support him, until, you weren't. You one day randomly disappeared without a word and he was devastated he thought of what had made you leave and one thought came to mind and that was that you both had sex for the first time recently. Was he really that bad at it that you just left or were you just using him this whole time and finally left after you got what he wanted? But no matter your reasoning, he was angry. Angry at you, angry at himself for letting himself be vulnerable and let himself get used and hurt again. Months went by and he hadn't heard of you and he'd been more closed off because of it, then the day came when he reached Sabaody along with the others of the worst generation. Currently he was fighting off the marines when something caught his eye, and looking away from the fight for a second and... He saw you. What were you doing here? Why were you beigg followed by a bunch of people?? Why did you suddenly gain so much weight??? All his thoughts were interrupted when he was attacked and he was reminded of the fight he was in. And he tried to search for you afterwards but you disappeared again. After seeing you in the same place as him he had to know why you were there, so he searched every newspaper since you left until he found it, your wanted poster and a news article about you. After you left you had started your own pirate crew and became apart of the worst generation. So you left him to be a pirate of your own? That still didn't tell him why you left without saying anything so he was still angry. He wanted to find you and confront you but then the events of Marineford happened and he got distracted and couldn't find you again.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Two years went by and he still hadn't seen you again but now he was focused on the downfall of Doflamingo, yet little did he know was that you had started helping the Strawhats, so when it came to the day they all left Dressrosa along with their allies, Law finally saw you again, and this time you couldn't run. He teleported you both to a different part of the ship you were on to talk.
"You have a lot to explain to me..." He scowled and crossed his arms. You just looked away, the feeling of shame growing in an insane rate inside you. Seeing your hesitation to answer, Law pushed you against a wall and pinned you there, "Answer me! Why did you leave me? I loved you and you left to start your own pirate crew?! Was I not a good enough captain?! Was I not a good enough boyfriend?! Tell me, what was it, WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?!" He shouted out until a small voice spoke up behind him, "Mama, who dat?" Law quickly looked behind him to see a toddler behind him and first he was confused, then he was shocked. The toddler that was probably only two years old had his eyes, and even almost had the same haircut as him, why did this toddler look like him? It couldn't be his, it couldn't... "He's yours Law..." You admitted, causing his heart dropped, he had a son, a child, a person with his own DNA and he didn't even know about it. "Is this... Is this why you left?" he managed to stutter out, still too shocked at the fact he had a son, "Yes... I thought that after all you went through that you didn't want children and I couldn't get rid of him, so I left..." his heart clenched again, you were so scared of his reaction to the baby that you left, he drove you away. He finally turned back to you and lightly cupped your cheek, "My darling, I would never have been upset at you being pregnant, I never thought about having kids but I never would have pressured you to get rid of it. All I care about is that you're happy and healthy." "But, what are you gonna do now?" Law cupped both your cheeks, "First of all, you're never leaving my sight again, second, I am going to spend every moment I can making up for lost time, with you and the kid. All I ask is just that you don't leave me again. I can't go through that again..." your heart raced at his words, all that time thinking he would want to get rid of the baby or that he would kick you out was for nothing, you nodded your head yes at his request and for the first time in two years, he leaned in and he kissed you again. Those same soft lips that you could recognize the taste of, the same passion whenever he kissed you. The moment was intimate and beautiful until the child tugged on your pants, "Mama, who is dat?" The child pointed to Law. You chuckled and picked him up, "Cora, this is your father." The child looked shocked as he stared at Law. Law smiled and bent down to eye level with his son, "My sweet Cora, I'm sorry I haven't been there before, but I'm here now, and I'll never leave you or your mother, you mean the world to me..." Law said as he gently pat the boy on his head. The boy smiled and made grabby hands at Law, so you handed the boy to him and he gently took him in his arms. The boy almost instantly hugged Law and after a small moment of shock Law hugged the boy back, and pulled you into the hug too. He had his own family now and he was never going to let anything happen to them.
______________________________
Alright so first request of the year, and once again I was asked to write more of Law in pain, but at least this one had a more happy ending, if you don't think about certain spoilers. But I'll just he posting this tonight and I'll post another request tomorrow. Pleas enjoy this for now and I'll be back tomorrow!

I had some thoughts about what shenanigans Kafka would get into in the One Piece world. This is spoiler free for anyone not on the current arc of OP(like I am). Please enjoy!
Kafka crashlands near the Thousand Sunny on the crew's way to Punk Hazard. (It's the second day of him having his powers btw.) Usopp and Luffy are the ones to find the himbo as they were fishing at the moment. Only for the Strawhat to fish the man out by his pants.
Kafka absolutely freaks out upon seeing Brook, Franky gets a long stare from him, while Chopper is called an adorable reindeer. (The Doctor was happy that someone didn't call him a raccoon dog for once.) Luffy immediately wants the himbo on his crew when a hostile Sea Beast shows up and he one shots it in kaiju form.
Kafka is called the Devil Eater amongst the crew. At first everyone thought he ate a Devil Fruit until Usopp mentions that he saw the man swimming. They assume the himbo eaten a devil instead after the Monster Sweeper tells them about how he got his powers.
Zoro overhears Kafka mentioning a promise he made to Mina on becoming a swordsman. Or how the himbo finds himself in sword training by sheer accident. He still takes the lessons even when given the option to quit. (The himbo still practices once back in his world.)
Nami is sighing in the corner upon learning how much of a manchild the kaiju shifter is. Kafka absolutely joins Luffy in his dumb antics but thankfully has some common sense to not take it too far. Especially when it came to experimenting with their powers.
Discussion with Chopper about his health leads to kaiju himbo realizing he now has a core. It took a while to locate the thing since Franky had to build an X-ray from scratch. Also Sanji makes sure Kafka eats enough food just in case his body needs more to sustain itself.
Everyone is confused about the Strawhat Pirates newest recruit. A good chunk believe the man is a sea devil as his abilities still work even when submerged. It doesn't take long for the himbo to get in himself a bounty or title. Devil Eater Kafka Hibino, Bounty: 32,000,000 million Berries. (Blame Luffy for the title)
First purchase in the One Piece world is a camera. Kafka is gonna take pictures while he's there and nab some souvenirs. He makes two scrapbooks by the end of the journey with the photos taken. One for him and the other for the Strawhats.
Luffy catches Kafka drawing something in his sketchbook. Or how the Strawhats learn that they have an analyst amongst them as he talks about his Monster Sweeper job. Usopp wants to have a drawing contest while Sanji thinks the man would make a good butcher. Luffy REALLY wants to eat a kaiju.
Kafka trains under Minks when it becomes apparent his powers, particularly the bioelectricity, are somewhat similar to theirs. Or how the kaiju himbo discovers that he can use all three forms of Haki. (He absolutely apologizes for the incident with Conquerer's variant.) It's a good thing considering how stronger his opponents are compared to normal kaiju.
Kafka's curiosity on Chopper's Rumble Ball leads to studying about medicine and Devil Fruits. He thinks the special pill could help him manage his kaiju form better. The Strawhat Doctor does want the man to understand the possible implications before any test trials.
Kafka's main role on the ship is Assistant. He helps everyone with specific tasks particularly Usopp, Franky, Sanji and Chopper. He often collects materials for them to use. (Or keep Luffy out of the kitchen in the chef's case.)
Kaiju habits are immediately indulged because Kafka doesn't have to worry about his secret here. Usopp built him a perch by the crow's nest so he can sunbathe. He absolutely jumped into the sea and brought back a freshly caught large fish or Sea Beast for the crew more than once.
Kafka may have gotten a few Den Den Mushi to talk with Tiny. He figured since the snails were telepathic then he might be able to connect to the little kaiju in his chest. Definitely knew what frequency was needed when the snail unnervingly begins to say 'Kill Kaiju' over and over.
Kafka's Devil Eater Title lands him in some 'interesting' situations. Big Mom wants to put him in an arranged marriage with one of her kids. Mad scientist types like Caesar Clown want to experiment on the man's ability. Definite target for Mink affection as he's like a "Scaled Mink" to them.
Attack names? You bet Kafka comes up with names for his attacks during the trip. A habit that stays even after getting back home. Same goes for outfit changes thanks to the crew's antics.
Kafka is given a goodbye gift from each of the Strawhats before he returns to his world. Luffy: A handmade strawhat.(Nami helped him make it.) Zoro: Three swords alongside a sword charm. Nami: A handmade map and a treasure pouch. Usopp: Pirate flags based on the crew alongside a few plant seeds. Sanji: A knife set and a cookbook. Robin: One of her favorite books. Chopper: A medical kit alongside his favorite medicine book. Franky: A Thousand Sunny figure and a motorbike based on the Going Merry. Brook: A sea turtle themed guitar with some records. Jinbe: Book on Fishman Karate and a few Dials.

This choice to present Supernovas clearly doesn’t favor Captain Trio, the way the previous and future chapters highlighted their importance. Instead manga acknowledged Killer and Zoro as the trusted, second-in-line members of their respective crews, as both were placed at the right side of their captain. Law is the only Supernova captain that enters the battle against Emperors without support of his own crew member.
Interestingly, again, Zoro is taking the central place between Luffy and Law, the way it happened post-Dressrossa. This position will also fit his role of Buffer, about which I talked about in the previous part in regard to Eustass and Luffy's competitive relationship. A role he will play again to balance the Law-Luffy-Eustass dynamic as well.
In the same chapter, Luffy was focused on heavily injured Oden’s loyal servants - the samurais and Minks - that already tried to take down Kaido but were defeat. Kinemon’s begging to save Wano deeply touched Straw Hats and of course, he would fight for his friends’ country no matter what. Ignoring the presence of Emperors, he told (ordered) Trafalgar Law to transport the injured men into safety - something Law did without a word of protest - so Luffy could throw the first punch at Kaido and declare to be future Pirate King.
Tumblr media
However, as the next chapter shows us, the alliance between Supernova Captains is a tricky thing. For example, when Zoro, Eustass and Killer noticed and commented Luffy’s new way to handle haki to the point he can damage Kaido,
Tumblr media
Law focused solely on the fact that Luffy ordered him to remove their injured allies when A) he planned to do it on his own and B) now it looks like he is Straw Hat’s subordinate thus his independence and captain status are put in question.
Thus when Luffy is already in fight against both Emperors and Zoro is protecting him from Big Mom’s attack, Law doesn’t use his “shambles” on Straw Hats to save him, but to scold how he put him (captain) in bad light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, Eustass won’t help the matter and instead of focusing on the fight at hand, all of them will settle the argument in the most idiotic way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things worth to note:
↪ Despite Law and Eustass initially protesting against the stupid game, both get themselves challenged (manipulated) by Luffy to prove they aren’t cowards.
↪ Law usually was shown to not care what others think about him, but here he is adamant to take part in this ridiculous test, even though getting hurt at the beginning of the battle is definitely stupid thing. Something he acknowledged himself in chapter 930, when he told Usopp, Franky and Sanji that “[...] each and every injury decreases our strength for the decisive battle.”
↪ Zoro is calling all Supernova Captains on their idiocy. Similar as in previous interaction between Kid and Straw Hats pirates, only Roronoa openly criticizes the captains regardless if they are part of his crew or not. In contrast, there is no frame with similar reaction from Killer and so far he too was presented as not blind to Luffy and Kid’s competitive nature and lack of common sense.
In contrast to captains and their petty argument, Zoro and Killer are capable of putting aside their rivalry from previous chapters. Roronoa made a point to acknowledge Killer as the Kamazo the Manslaughter with whom he fought against to protect Toko and Hiyori, and they had a short talk about the result of their last fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That however doesn’t hinder their teamwork against Kaido. As chapter 1001 shows, they fighted in sync, attacking the same spot - Kaido’s neck. Which highlights even more their focus on the task at hand, as captains attack one after another, instead of co-operating their forces the way Zoro and Killer did.
With chapter 1002, teamwork of Supernovas has changed for the better. For example, when Killer is hit by Big Mom’s attack, it is Luffy that saves him from Kaido. Interestingly, when Zoro demands from Law an assistance (so he could save/aid Luffy), the man complains about being ordered around, yet he does as he was told while also not scolding Zoro the way he scolded Luffy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another improvement of Supernovas teamwork comes from chapter 1003, when Luffy using 4th Gear finally ran out of Haki and his companions needed to keep him safe for the next 10 minutes. Of course, Zoro was the main protector of Straw Hat, but Kid, Killer and Law attacks against both Kaido and Big Mom helped to keep their enemy busy. During that time, Zoro managed to cut deep enough Kaido to penetrate his dragon scales. A feat noticed by Supernovas (Killer) and Emperors.
From chapter 1008 and onward, the teamwork between Supernovas takes another shape. While Luffy stubbornly attacks Emperors (something Zoro scolded his captain for, saying “look before you leap!” and later “You should help us come up with something else), we can see that the rest of the group is actually making a strategy  - they need separate Emperors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interestingly, Zoro again is put between Supernovas captains. Though each frame presents one character at time, visually it adds to the feeling Roronoa is the Buffer. Once he agrees with Law, Kid too openly supports Trafalgar’s idea. On one hand, it provides another example of how Zoro had no problem following Law’s plans and put some trust into the man, on another he is playing the role of leader Luffy should do. Instead of Captain Trio, it is teamwork between Roronoa, Law and Eustass, while Luffy is busy with his single-minded attitude and Killer is excluded from interaction.
In the following chapter, Big Mom and Kaido used a combined attack that most likely would kill or at least heavily injure Supernovas, if Zoro didn’t step up and blocked it long enough for the rest to run away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out of all Supernovas, Zoro was the only one that rushed to block enemy attack, clearly being ready to sacrifice himself for the whole group, not just Luffy, as implied by his words:
“All of you run! We can’t let them wipe us out”
As the next scene showed, Law most likely used his powers to move Zoro to the safety of their temporary hideout and verbally checked out of his state.
Tumblr media
Important thing to note:
↪ This is the first time Law addressed Zoro by name during battle. The same as previously, he called him “Zoro-ya”
↪ Eustass actually thanked Zoro for blocking the attack and saving them. Something that Kid rarely did in the past.
Luffy immediately attacked Kaido, but as we can see with upcoming scenes, Kid, Law, Killer and Zoro formed their own plan and worked more as a team.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The teamwork between Killer, Kid, (heavily injured Zoro) and Law allowed the Supernovas to push away Big Mom onto ocean
Tumblr media
with Zeus captured, only Prometheus could save the Emperor and Zoro, despite the great injury, tried to not let that happen. The following scene shows Law's reaction to his effort: "That guy... I wouldn't be surprised if he broke every bone in his body after their last attack". This is the second time Trafalgar showed a concern for Zoro's life.
Tumblr media
To save his ally, Kaido was going after Roronoa, but Law used his power to switch the place with Zoro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zoro asked what Trafalgar was doing, indicating he would rather want the man to focus on keeping Prometheus away from Big Mom than saving, but as Law said, “the plan isn’t worth one of us dying!”.
Tumblr media
What is an interesting contrast to what we saw in previous chapter 930, when Law claimed it was better for Straw Hats (allies) to let the enemy kill them than jeopardize the mission. Here, sacrificing Zoro to eliminate Big Mom would benefit the Supernovas group, but Law drew a line - their plan was not worth Zoro's life. Which shows how far their relationship developed through the course of events.
Tumblr media
Here, Supernovas had separated - Kid and Killer went against Big Mom, Law and Zoro faced Kaido while Luffy was unconscious. Zoro admitted to Law he is at his limits and if his final attacks won’t work, all will be up to Trafalgar.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Zoro’s final attack did not knock out Kaido as he hoped, but at least injured him. Law witnessed Roronoa’s last stand and was ready to protect his fallen ally, but both men were knocked down by the enemy’s attack. Ultimately, Luffy came to their aid and told them to head back, as he planned to fight against Kaido one on one.
Tumblr media
The next chapter (1011) showed Trafalgar carrying heavily injured Zoro out of the battlefront and transporting them into safety.
Tumblr media
Law, though miscalculated as his shambles worked on objects in mid-air but he and Zoro were saved by Sanji.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ultimately he left injured Roronoa in care of one of his crew members and then left to join the ongoing fight. Interestingly, Law did not stay behind to heal Zoro, despite witnessing how much damage the man took through the course of fight against Emperors. He did however tell Sanji about Roronoa’s state and what he should do - including “make sure he's still conscious and breathing”, so we do see he was not indifferent to the fate of Zoro.
Every Supernova character went in a separate way, each facing their own opponents. Sadly, the final celebration of victory was different from the usual banquets at the end of arc - here Straw Hats, Kid Pirates and Heart Pirates did not mix much, each staying more or less in their own company. Similarly, there is not much reaction from Law or Zoro at the official end of the alliance, as the story was again focused on the interaction between Supernovas Captains.
And for now, I’m ending the analysis of the development of their relationship. It was a long, sometimes rocky way for two no-nonsense, introverted men but there is a clear change in how they felt and how they interacted through the arcs. The most vital improvement is Law’s treatment of Straw Hats in general, as he at first did not care for their - or people of Dressrosa’s life, but at the end, would not sacrifice Zoro for the victory and showed much concern about his injuries. Zoro too has changed, from treating Law with suspicion to a much more relaxed and trusting relationship with someone outside of his trusted crew.
For now, it’s the end, but knowing One Piece, sooner or later Zoro and Law will cross paths again and we will see what has changed between them. Thanks for reading and sorry it took me so long to finish the final part.

HEART PIRATES WEEK 2025 - Part 3 of 9
It's Heart Pirate season!
Day Three: Penguin - Insomnia
686 words; also just quickly looked-over so sorry if something reads a bit off; can read as slightly PenLaw now that I’m looking at it but I don’t ship it so if you do get your goggles ready
-_-_-_-_-_-_-
It wasn’t his shift to be up, and yet Penguin tossed and turned in his bunk, attempting to get comfortable to no avail as everyone else in the bunkroom snored and farted in their sleep. Next month was supposed to be when he switched to nights, making his inability to get rest all the more frustrating.
Eventually, he rolled out of bed and made his way towards the cafeteria. It was quiet in the ship—the thrumming of the engine in low-power mode, the lack of crew chatter, the subtle movement of the water all around the ship… there was so little noise it was deafening. At least if he went into the kitchen he’d hear other noises… could keep himself out of his own head.
Ah, yes; peace at last. Penguin busied himself with making some tea, the motions familiar and relaxing. He made Bepo some tea the first night they were together and, since then, the Mink was very good at providing him and Shachi and the Captain (and eventually, the rest of the crew) with herbal tea whenever they couldn’t sleep. It was… comforting, in its own way, and the familiarity of it felt natural in a way he could never describe.
As his tea steeped, Penguin went over to the small shelving unit set into the wall that held some of the crew’s shared books and plucked one off without even thinking about it. After tossing it on one of the tables, he grabbed the teapot and a mug and sat down to flip through the book while he continued letting his drink brew. Great—he ended up grabbing one of the beaten old technical manuals for the ship. The drier and more boring the text, the better his chances were at falling asleep mid-page, and any sleep was good sleep at this point. He began to read, eventually pouring himself a steaming mug of tea…
…except, instead of getting tired, he was simply getting bored. He kept trying to read, only to find that his attention span was growing shorter and shorter by the minute. Another cuppa once his first was drained and he kept trying, only to grow increasingly frustrated.
“Can’t sleep either?” Penguin glanced towards the doorway and saw the Captain, standing there as though he’d come in for the exact same reason—he looked like hell, as though the crew’s suspicions were correct and he really hadn’t slept in two whole days. Then again, he sounded awful too. The Captain saw the teapot and stared almost longingly. “Is that chamomile?”
“Lemon ginger—you’ll smell it once you come over here and pour yourself some.”
“Fair.” The Captain acquired a mug and indeed poured out some tea for himself. “You’ll never fall asleep reading that.”
“I’m trying,” Penguin groused. “This is probably one of the most snooze-worthy books on the entire ship.”
“Close,” his captain agreed, “but I doubt it’ll do anything but annoy you since it’s all stuff we’ve altered already.”
“Wanna bet?”
“Considering Ikkaku scrapped that component to make the espresso machine the second week she was here, yeah.” The Captain tapped his pointer finger on the page closest to him and pointed out a gyro that was indeed sitting on the kitchen counter. He drank some of his tea and gave his old friend an unbothered look—he had him there.
“Plenty in here’s still relevant,” Penguin frowned as he began to flip through the manual. “This got moved to the secondary engine, but it’s still fully operational. This got upgraded but it still is functional, this was tossed but looks very similar in setup to the new boiler dongle that we rigged up last week, and…”
Noticing that the Captain was very quiet, Penguin glanced over and saw that he was slumped against the table, eyes closed as he pillowed his head against folded arms. Penguin leaned in and confirmed the other man’s soft snores—at least one of them was out. He poured himself the last of the tea and continued reading.
Maybe, if he was lucky, they’d both get some sleep before breakfast.

Lost and Found: A Pirate's Promise
Chapter 37: The King’s Fall – Luffy vs. Doflamingo
Tumblr media
A/N: Yall when I tell you this chapter I was emotional, and laughing like Sanjis POV, and we finally find out who the groom and bride to be is for the second arranged marriage which will take place in whole cake island. We are wrapping up the Dressrosa arc, and hitting Zou (only for like 4 chapters, its mainly filler) and then its all Whole Cake. When I tell you, tension will be there, Spice, Drama, infidelity…. And more!” We will also be getting our first Bonus Chapter! And its non other than DonQuixote Doflamingos POV leading to him in impel down, we are about to see what he thought in that moment. Thank you guys so much for following along, and reading, liking, sharing, commenting. And without further ado let the adventure begin!
Word Count: 11K
Sanji POV…
It had been a few days since we arrived at Zou. The destruction we witnessed, the carnage left behind, still lingered in my mind. The Mink Tribe had faced an invasion, and with the help of Chopper, Tristan, Miagi, and that no-good Caesar—by force, of course, since the annihilation was caused by one of his damned gases—they managed to treat the injured. Although we were initially perceived as a threat, Wanda quickly realized we weren’t part of Jack’s crew when Tristan and Pedro vouched for us.
But now, as I stood here with Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Caesar, facing off against Pekoms and Capone Bege, I realized that I faced a new kind of challenge.
Pekoms, grateful we saved the Mink Tribe, had been ready to call Big Mom and tell her the mission failed.
“What are you talking about? What mission?” I demanded, already gearing up for a fight.
Before I could blink, Bege shot Pekoms. My eyes widened as I watched the blood spray, leaving Pekoms crumpled in a heap.
“Where’s the girl, Blackleg?” Bege growled, eyes sweeping the room as if searching for someone.
“If you’re thinking about hurting Nami, you’ve got another thing coming!” I spat, as Nami, Chopper, Brook, and even Caesar were bound in chains.
“Why don’t you come inside so we can discuss this like gentlemen,” Bege sneered, ushering us all into his fortress-like body.
He poured wine as if nothing had happened. “Now, Blackleg, I won’t ask again. Where’s the girl?”
“What girl?” I snapped, still trying to figure out how the hell we were going to get out of this.
“The one named Princess Y/N,” he said, his voice colder now.
My breath caught. I barely managed to stifle my gasp.
“Why the hell do you want her?” I demanded, anger boiling inside me. How dare he even mention her name.
“Take it easy, Blackleg,” he said, pulling out two invitations and tossing them at me. “You’re set to marry the 35th daughter of the Charlotte Family, Pudding.” He gestured toward the paper, where it was written clear as day: Groom: Vinsmoke Sanji. Bride: Charlotte Pudding.
“What?!” Nami, Chopper, and Brook yelled in unison, their eyes wide in shock.
“Sanji! What gives?!” Nami struggled against her binds.
“Tea party, my ass,” I growled. “I’m not going to Big Mom’s tea party, and I’m definitely not marrying her daughter! Besides, I’m already engaged to be married—and that’s with Y/N!”
“What?!” Nami, Chopper, and Brook echoed once again, even more confused now.
Brook leaned toward Nami and muttered, “I just know this is a one-sided marriage, because the last time I checked, Y/N didn’t agree to anything, let alone marriage.”
Before they could react, Bege revealed a second invitation, the paper unfolding slowly like some twisted joke.
“She was also invited to Mama’s tea party, but as a bride herself,” Bege said, his voice thick with amusement.
The second invitation read: Groom: Vinsmoke Ichiji. Bride: Princess Y/L/N, Y/N.
My world tilted. My hands clenched, fists trembling in rage.
“What the hell is this?!” I growled, my voice dark and deadly. “I’ll be damned if I let them near her, let alone marry one of those bastards.”
Bege leaned back, as if enjoying the show. “Your father put in that invitation. Since she’s going to be a bride to the first child of the Vinsmokes, Judge thought it fitting to have all his children reunited for the occasion. Her wedding will be held first, and then yours will follow,” he said, savoring every word.
I gritted my teeth, barely able to contain myself. "Over my dead body."
“Oh, and if you’re wondering where your charming older brother is, Vinsmoke Ichiji would’ve been here today, but he’s busy handling ‘business’ for Judge. He’s very eager to see his bride-to-be. Apparently, he was the one who pushed to make this marriage happen, and Judge went along with it.”
My blood boiled at the thought of Ichiji, of him thinking he could lay a finger on Y/N. I’ll kill him before I let that happen.
“You’re playing with fire, Bege,” I hissed, glaring at him. “And trust me, you’ll get burned.”
Bege grinned, clearly amused by my outburst. “Just remember, Blackleg. If you don’t cooperate, it’s not just your life on the line—it’s hers too. And you wouldn’t want that now, would you?”
I clenched my fists even tighter, the weight of it all pressing down on me. My mind raced, thinking of Y/N and what Ichiji might do if I wasn’t there to protect her.
Y/N POV..
I lay beside Law, breathing softly, feeling the weight of exhaustion. “Alright, let’s get you fixed and healed,” said Leo, his little needle poised for action. I glanced up, smiling at him despite the pain. “So you must be Leo. I’ve heard so much about you.”
Leo blushed, a hint of fluster creeping onto his cheeks at the compliment. I turned to the other figure beside him. “And you must be Princess Mansherry. The pleasure’s all mine,” I said with a soft smile.
Leo, now positioned on top of me, made me hiss in pain. “Princess, we may need to remove this dress, as it won’t let me get to the injury,” he said, still blushing.
“You’re right. This corset dress will only wear me down and won’t let you access the wound,” I replied in a hushed tone. I slowly turned to face Law, who was already looking at me, his gaze intense and concerned.
I then looked over at Cavendish, who was wearing a shirt that might help the process. “Cabbage, I know this may be forward of me, but do you mind lending me your white shirt and… ripping my dress with your sword?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
Cavendish blushed, clearly taken aback by my request. “Princess… I—”
“Oh come on, Cabbage! Don’t get all flustered now,” I groaned, rolling my eyes playfully. “Just do it already!”
With a chuckle, Cavendish finally relented. “Alright, alright. Just don’t blame me if this goes horribly wrong.” He carefully sliced the fabric of my dress, his movements precise yet gentle, ensuring I wouldn’t feel more pain than necessary.
As the material fell away, I took a deep breath, feeling a mixture of vulnerability and relief. “Thank you, Cabbage,” I said softly, meeting his gaze for a moment before looking back at Leo.
“Is this better?” I asked, and he nodded as he got to work on my injured torso and side.
Cavendish kept trying to look away, his cheeks flushing ever so often, while I noticed Law's cheeks were also a darker shade of red. I smirked, feeling a playful spark. “Law, if you wanted to get a look at me this way, you could have just asked,” I chuckled, teasing him.
Leo focused intently, and as he finished sewing up my torso and side, I felt the familiar warmth of Princess Mansherry's healing powers begin to flow through me. A soothing sensation washed over my injuries, and I started to feel a bit better with the process.
“What a surprise, I never knew there were little people in Dressrosa, and their princess can heal injuries like magic—something out of a fairy tale,” Cabbage commented, glancing between Leo and Princess Mansherry with astonishment.
I smiled at both of them, their dedication lifting my spirits. “You two are incredible. Thank you for everything,” I said softly, my breath steadying.
Leo gave a shy smile, clearly flustered. “It’s nothing, Princess. I’m just glad I can help.”
“Alright, Princess, I’ll need you to turn on your left side so I can tend to your right arm,” Leo instructed gently. I carefully shifted, holding my dress up to cover what was necessary.
“And don’t forget about my right palm, Leo,” I added, watching him as he worked.
He nodded, his focus on stitching up my wounds. “Got it! I won’t miss a thing.”
While I let Leo and Mansherry do their work, I noticed Cabbage glancing toward the palace. His expression seemed distant. “How’s it looking?” I asked, my energy slowly returning, feeling less pain in my arm.
“Honestly, I can’t tell from here,” Cabbage replied, his tone more serious now.
“All done, Princess!” Leo said proudly as he finished stitching up my arm and palm, Mansherry’s healing abilities working wonders to speed up the recovery.
I sat up, holding my front to keep the torn dress in place. “Thank you both so much,” I said with sincerity, extending my hand for them to climb on.
After they hopped off, I turned to Cabbage, feeling a playful smirk form. “Now, about that arrangement regarding your shirt…”
Cabbage smirked back, catching onto my tease. “Oh? Does the princess plan to keep it as a souvenir? I’m starting to think you just wanted an excuse for me to be shirtless,” he quipped with a playful wink.
I rolled my eyes, a chuckle slipping out. “Believe me, I can live without it.”
Cabbage handed me his shirt, still grinning. As I slipped it on, the soft fabric hung loosely, the V-neck dipping just enough to reveal a hint of my chest. It stopped mid-thigh, making me feel somewhat exposed, but it was better than the torn dress.
"Fits like a charm," Cabbage teased, crossing his arms with a smirk.
Law shot him a glare, wincing as Leo continued stitching his arm.
"And done, Law-land!" Leo chirped, while Princess Mansherry used her healing powers to help speed up Law's recovery. After a few moments, the pain in his arm began to ease.
Cabbage and I sat together in a comfortable silence, both of us glancing occasionally toward Law, who lay down on the grass, his eyes fixed on the top of the palace. “They say your arm should be back in working order as soon as the blood begins to circulate,” Cabbage said, casting a glance at Law.
“I know... I'm a doctor,” Law muttered.
I turned to him, placing my hand gently over his, giving it a reassuring squeeze before letting go. Law blinked and glanced at me for a second, his expression softening before he turned his focus back to the palace.
“When I saw that underground port, one thing became clear,” Cabbage started again, his voice serious. “This is much bigger than one man. Even if we defeat Doflamingo, the battle won’t be over. It'll send ripples across the world, and all eyes will be on you and Strawhat."
Law opened his eyes, staring at the sky for a moment, absorbing Cabbage’s words. "Yeah... that was the plan," Law replied quietly, his gaze returning to the palace, his mind already thinking ahead to what came next.
Just then, a loud crash echoed through the town as something massive fell from the palace.
"What the hell just happened?!" I exclaimed, scrambling to my feet despite still feeling the effects of the battle.
"Y/N, get back," Law warned, his tone serious.
"Not when my captain might be down there, Law!" I shot back, glancing to make sure my blades were still secured at my sides.
“Strawhat! He’s so different now. If he can overpower Doflamingo, then he must be strong,” Cabbage noted, his eyes wide with admiration.
“Yeah, but he’s overusing his Haki,” Law pointed out, concern lacing his voice.
I clenched my left hand, feeling the familiar power of the ring coursing through me. “With this damn Birdcage shrinking, it’s only going to make matters worse,” I said, casting a worried glance at Law.
Just then, King Riku’s voice boomed over the chaos, making an announcement to the entire town of Dressrosa. “We just need to deal with one tyrant—Doflamingo! The brave soul facing him is Luffy from the Straw Hats! I must remind you all of one thing: win or lose, try to survive no matter what it takes. I implore you to keep running, for a few minutes, please try to survive!”
His words echoed through the town, a beacon of hope amid the chaos. “There is still hope for us, which is why you mustn't surrender yet!” King Riku urged, his voice steady and strong.
“What a devastating blow…” Cabbage murmured, his expression shifting. “Wait, did Luffy—”
I felt a glimmer of relief that this nightmare might be over as I slowly made my way toward Law and Cabbage. “Wait! Look at the sky!” Law exclaimed, his voice sharp.
“No…” I breathed, my heart sinking as I looked up. “Damn Birdcage is still there!”
“Damn!” I yelled in frustration. “Doflamingo isn’t dead yet.”
“Damn it! We gotta do something!” I insisted, feeling anger boil within me. My eyes fell on Luffy, who was hitting the ground hard. “Luffy!” I shouted. “What happened?!”
“Hahahah!” A voice rang out from above us, and my stomach dropped.
“That’s Jesus Burgess! What’s he doing here?!” Cabbage exclaimed.
“Shit! I gotta do something now!” I declared, ready to charge down to confront him. But as I moved, pain shot through my sides, causing me to stumble back.
“Y/N, wait!” Law warned, concern etching his features.
Suddenly, I sensed someone approaching from my side. A girl with short red hair stood before me. “Who are you?” I demanded, defensive.
Cabbage tensed, ready to stand, but I raised my hand. “Don’t.”
“My, it’s so nice to finally meet you, actually,” she said, stepping forward and wrapping me in a hug. I froze, unsure whether to reciprocate or push her away.
“Oh right!” she exclaimed, stepping back slightly. “My name is Koala,” she introduced, holding up a transponder snail.
Just then, a familiar voice crackled through the device. “Koala, can you hear me?” It was Sabo. My eyes widened, and I noticed Koala’s smile.
“Yeah, I can hear you. Don’t worry, you need to get to downtown. Burgess is on his way to Luffy,” she said urgently.
“I’m on my way!” Sabo replied, determination lacing his tone, ready to protect his brother.
Koala turned to look at me, smiling. I met her gaze with tears in my eyes. "He’s okay," I thought, feeling a wave of relief wash over me.
“Actually, Sabo, before you go, I have someone you might want to hear,” Koala said, smirking as she handed me the transponder snail.
“Koala, I don’t have ti—” he started, but I cut him off.
“Sabo…” I whispered, my heart racing.
“Y/N!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of relief and anguish. “You’re okay! Are you hurt? Oh my god!”
I chuckled, tears still glistening in my eyes. “I’m fine, Sabo, but I need you to help Luffy. Burgess can’t get to Luffy; I’ll see what I can do with Doflamingo, even if I have to buy some time again.”
“Don’t be stupid, Y/N!” Sabo shot back, frustration and worry evident in his voice.
“I know it’s risky,” I said, determination filling my voice. “But I can’t just sit back while Luffy’s in danger. I have to do something!”
“He’s right!” Law reiterated, his voice cutting through the tension as he eyed me with concern.
“Sabo, just try to keep Burgess off Luffy’s back,” I said, determination clear in my tone. “I’ll handle whatever comes my way up here. You focus on him.”
Sabo let out a short laugh, the kind that said he knew me all too well. “You’ve always been reckless. Even when we first met, you threw yourself headfirst into danger without a second thought.”
I couldn’t help but smirk, rolling my eyes. “I haven’t changed much, have I?”
“Not at all,” he teased through the transponder snail. “Just try not to get captured again. I’ve got enough on my hands without having to worry about saving you.”
I chuckled softly, wiping away the emotional tension that had built up. “I’ll be fine, Sabo. I’ve survived worse. Just get Burgess away from Luffy and we’ll be one step closer to ending this nightmare.”
He let out a sigh, half amused, half exasperated. “Fine, fine. But I swear, Y/N, you’ve got this habit of making things harder for yourself. Just don’t push too far.”
“Look who’s talking,” I shot back, grinning. “You’re not exactly known for playing it safe.”
“That’s fair,” he admitted with a laugh. “Just keep your head on straight. And Y/N?”
“Yeah?”
“Save a little of that fight for when we see each other again, okay? I owe you for always running headfirst into danger.”
I smiled, a deep warmth settling over me. “Deal.”
I handed the transponder snail back to Koala.
“You sure you’ll be alright?” she asked, concern lacing her voice.
I turned behind me to eye both Law and Cabbage. “Yeah, besides I gotta make sure this one…” I said, kneeling down to grab Law’s cheeks, eliciting a slight gasp from him, “makes it out okay as well.”
Law’s cheeks began to turn pink, and I couldn’t help but chuckle at his reaction. “You really have a way of making things interesting, don’t you?” he teased, trying to regain his composure.
“Only the best for you, Law,” I replied, grinning.
“Koala, please make sure you’re safe as well,” I added, smiling at her.
She returned my smile before jumping off the cliff, heading into town to find Sabo. As I turned back to Law and Cabbage, I felt a rush of determination. Just as I was about to sit back down, both Law and I were suddenly teleported to a new location.
“Wait!” I exclaimed as we hit the ground. “You could have told me you were going to shamble us, you know,” I muttered, struggling to get up. I lifted my head and saw someone carrying Luffy, surrounded by others.
“Luffy!” I shouted, starting to make my way toward them.
“Woah! It can’t be! Trafalgar Law, the Warlord, and Princess Y/N! From the strawhat pirates!” someone exclaimed, eyes wide.
“Wait a sec, are you running too far away? Is Strawhat going to get his Haki back or not?” Law asked, irritation lacing his voice.
“Yeah, well, Strawhat said he needed ten minutes, and we have about three and a half left,” the bystander replied.
“Good, I’ll distract Doflamingo then,” I said, clenching my fists as electricity and fire coursed through me.
“Don’t you dare, Y/N!” Law shouted, anguish flooding his voice as he struggled to get up.
“Law, that decision isn’t yours to make. I will protect my captain and you, even if it kills me,” I replied firmly, urgency flooding my heart. “Luffy can handle the rest when the time comes.”
“Damn it, you’re always so reckless!” Law shot back, frustration etched on his face. “You think I can just sit back and watch you throw yourself into danger? What if something happens to you?”
“Something already happened to me, Law!” I snapped, my fears bubbling to the surface. “I’ve been hurt before, and I’m still here! I can’t just do nothing!”
His eyes softened, a storm of emotions swirling within them. “I don’t want to lose you. Not again.”
The weight of his words pressed down on me, and I felt my heart clench. “You won’t lose me, I promise,” I said, trying to reassure him even as uncertainty gnawed at me. “Just trust me.”
He turned to the bystander, his tone commanding. “Give Luffy to me. I’ll take care of everything from here.”
I turned back to Law, wanting to lighten the mood. “Do you still have the tiara I gave you?”
He pulled it out, a flicker of a smile breaking through the tension. “What, you think I’d forget something so precious?”
I took it from him, warmth flooding my chest. Leaning in, I planted a quick kiss on his cheek. “Just making sure you remember me,” I teased, my voice wavering slightly.
He rolled his eyes, but the hint of a smile lingered. “Yeah, yeah.”
“Now, I’m ready.” I clenched my left hand, activating its power as I leaped into the air, determination surging through me, even as Law’s worried gaze burned into my back
I soared through the sky for a moment, scanning for Doflamingo. "Where did this bastard go..." I thought, frustration building.
Just then, I spotted Doflamingo alongside Viola and Rebecca. "Viola, Rebecca?!" I thought, shock coursing through me. What the hell are they doing here?! I watched as Rebecca lunged at Viola with her weapon, and my heart sank. "Shit, she's being controlled," I realized. "Doflamingo!"
I landed behind him, my voice steady despite the chaos. He turned, a mocking smile spreading across his face. “My, well if it isn’t my princess,” he purred, feigning surprise. Doflamingo’s eyes sparkled with amusement as he manipulated Viola’s strings, hanging her helplessly. "Now what brings you here?" he asked, an almost predatory glint in his gaze.
“I came to see you,” I said, infusing my voice with a sultry tone. “You don’t need them. You want someone strong, someone who will give you a real challenge.” I took a deliberate step closer, feeling the tension crackle in the air.
“You’ve changed from the outfit,” he observed, his gaze roving over me with a hunger that sent chills down my spine.
He suddenly released Viola and Rebecca, who rushed to each other. “Viola!” Rebecca yelled, enveloping her in a relieved hug. "Good, they’re safe," I thought, relief washing over me. I glanced at Viola, who looked at me with a mix of confusion and gratitude. I smiled, silently hoping she would understand my intentions.
“Princess, I must say you really do know how to surprise me,” Doflamingo said, a blend of intrigue and desire evident in his voice. His fascination was palpable, and I could sense the shift in his demeanor as I drew closer, determined to keep his focus on me and away from the chaos unfolding around us.
“What’s the matter? Are you not intrigued by your little princess’s transformation?” I teased, stepping even closer, daring him to take the bait.
"I'm not surprised you’re here, but I must say, I've never felt this intense of a rush before until today, Doffy." I stepped closer, my voice steady despite the danger.
He raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. “Is that so? You always were one to draw attention,” he replied, his tone dripping with amusement.
I stepped closer, “When you kissed my neck,” I said, a playful edge to my voice, “I yelped in surprise. I wondered what else you could do with that mouth of yours.” My gaze roamed over him, drinking in his reaction.
Doflamingo chuckled softly, the sound low and dangerous. “You’re playing a dangerous game, princess.”
I continued, undeterred. “When Baby 5 took me to your quarters and I saw how spacious your room was, I couldn’t help but wonder... what if you had come in instead of her? What if it was you giving me the outfit you chose for our little game?” My blades began to glow faintly, a flicker of power at my fingertips.
Doflamingo's eyes darkened, intrigue flickering in their depths. “And as I recall, you said I would be begging for mercy, but let’s be honest: is it mercy you crave, or something more?”
He stepped closer, the tension between us thickening. “And when you found me in that office,” I challenged, “tell me, how hard was it to resist acting on those inner desires that plagued your mind from the moment I set foot in Dressrosa?”
“You want the truth, princess?” His voice was low, a rasp that sent an involuntary shiver through me. “The moment I saw you step foot into Dressrosa, I knew you’d be trouble. But I couldn’t stop thinking about what it would feel like to break you... or to have you willingly surrender.”
His hand moved lower, tracing the line of my collarbone as he spoke. “In that office, I was this close—" he pinched the air between his thumb and forefinger, "—to letting those desires take over. You, standing there, trying to play your games with me... every time you talked back, every glance you threw my way, made it harder not to act.”
He chuckled darkly, his fingers now trailing dangerously close to my throat. “You have no idea how tempting it was to claim you right then and there, make you mine in ways no one else ever could. But patience, my dear, is a virtue—one I rarely indulge in, but for you… I’m willing to wait. Because when I do take you, it will be on my terms, when you least expect it.”
His hand lingered, the air between us growing heavier with each passing second. “I’ve never been one to resist what I want, princess. And I’ve wanted you from the moment I saw that fire in your eyes. You act so tough, so defiant. But deep down, I know there’s a part of you that wants to see how far you can push me... and how far I’ll take you.”
I could feel the heat of his gaze burning through me as he leaned in, his breath hot against my ear. “So tell me, Y/N, what’s more dangerous? The game we’re playing now... or the moment when I finally decide to stop playing and make you mine?”
The weight of his confession hung in the air, thick with tension, as his words wrapped around me like a vice. I could see the hunger in his eyes, a hunger that told me he meant every word.
Doflamingo’s smirk deepened, his eyes darkening with desire. "You really do crave danger, don't you, Princess? Standing here, tempting me like this... Do you even know what you're playing with?"
I tilted my head slightly, a confident smile spreading across my lips. “Oh, I know exactly what I’m playing with, Doffy. It’s the thrill of walking the edge, not knowing if you'll catch me... or let me fall.”
His fingers grazed the collar of my dress shirt, tracing the V-neckline slowly, teasingly. “You’re bold, I’ll give you that. But playing with fire can burn, Princess.”
I leaned in just slightly, closing the distance. “Maybe I like the heat,” I whispered, my voice daring him to cross that line.
Doflamingo’s breath hitched, his restraint cracking as the raw hunger in his gaze flared. “You have no idea what you’re in for,” he growled, stepping even closer until there was nothing but the electric tension between us.
Doflamingo stepped forward, the space between us vanishing in an instant, his presence overpowering. The air around him buzzed with energy, his intent clear. “Doffy,” I began, my voice steady but teasing, “it does make me wonder... what does a warlord, and a former celestial dragon, really know about pleasing a woman like me? Ever pondered that thought?”
His finger traced the edge of my V-neck shirt slowly, almost lazily, sending an involuntary thrill down my spine. His smirk deepened, a wicked gleam flashing in his eyes. “Oh, Princess, you have no idea what you’re playing with. I’ve mastered things that would make your wildest fantasies seem tame.”
He leaned in, close enough for his breath to graze my neck, his voice like velvet, dark and tempting. “Pleasure is a game, and I’ve always been one to rewrite the rules. You say you enjoy danger—well, tell me, Princess, are you ready to dance with the devil himself?”
I felt my heart race as he leaned in, his lips almost brushing against my ear. “You have the power to ignite every desire I have. But be warned, once you step into my world, there’s no turning back.” I subtly clenched my right hand, feeling the strength flow through me.
Doflamingo smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief. Before I could react, he pulled me closer by the waist, catching me off guard. “You know, Princess,” he whispered, his breath warm against my skin, “the closer you get, the more tempting this all becomes.”
I felt a shiver run down my spine as our bodies nearly touched, his grip firm yet surprisingly gentle. “What are you playing at, Doffy?” I managed to ask, keeping my voice steady despite the nerves in me.
He leaned in, his lips brushing against my ear again. “Just exploring all the possibilities. You’re quite the distraction, but a welcome one.”
“Distraction? Or a challenge?” I replied, my mind racing. “I’m not here to make it easy for you.”
He chuckled softly, his eyes darkening with desire. “I wouldn’t want it any other way. But be careful; you might just enjoy the game as much as I do.”
As he held me closer, I felt the power of my blades surging, ready to unleash at any moment. The tension hung thick in the air, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that this dance was only just beginning. Just then, Doflamingo leaned in, placing a kiss on my neck once more, and my heart raced in response.
Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding him in place as I subtly connected my left palm, feeling the energy crackle to life. The electricity surged, glowing with a bright yellow hue as I clenched my right hand tighter, readying my surprise.
“Doffy,” I breathed out, feigning breathlessness. “What do you think happens when desire creates an electric spark?”
His smirk faltered for a moment, intrigue sparking in his eyes. “What are you—”
“Just a little something for you to ponder,” I cut in, my voice low and teasing. “Now, shock!” I exclaimed, unleashing the pent-up energy coursing through me. A powerful jolt of electricity surged toward him, illuminating the space between us.
He stumbled back, eyes wide in disbelief, momentarily caught off guard. I seized the moment, executing a swift back handspring that created distance between us. The tension shifted from seduction to confrontation, and I felt the thrill of the fight ignite my spirit.
“Did you really think I’d let you have your way so easily?” I taunted, my hand glowing in anticipation as I readied myself for whatever he would throw at me next.
Doflamingo regained his footing, a mix of amusement and fury dancing in his eyes. “You’ve got quite the spark, Princess. But you’ll find that playing with fire can lead to some devastating consequences.”
I smirked, holding my ground, unfazed by his words. “What’s wrong, Doffy? I thought you liked a challenge.” My voice was steady, but my heart raced, adrenaline flooding my veins.
Suddenly, Doflamingo vanished from my sight, appearing behind me with lightning speed. My instincts kicked in, and I lifted my right leg, aiming a sharp kick toward his side. He blocked it effortlessly, his smirk widening. I used the momentum to push off him, performing another quick back handspring to put some distance between us.
“Why don’t you be a good girl and come this way,” Doflamingo purred, his voice dripping with dark amusement as he launched a thread-based attack in my direction.
I dodged it with a swift sidestep, the threads barely missing me by inches. “Astounding, ladies and gentlemen! The princess is now facing Doflamingo in a one-on-one combat!” boomed an unexpected voice from above.
“Who the hell…?” I muttered, glancing around, but my brief distraction cost me.
In a flash, Doflamingo’s arm snaked around me, his grip vice-like as he grabbed me and hurled me toward a nearby wall. I crashed into it with brutal force, the impact knocking the wind out of me. I gasped, struggling to regain my breath as I slid down the cracked stone, my body screaming in pain.
“Stay focused, Princess,” Doflamingo taunted, stepping toward me with slow, predatory steps. “It would be a shame for our little game to end so soon.”
His fist swung toward me, but I dodged it just in time, clenching my left hand and leaping into the air to create distance. "You think you can escape me?" Doflamingo sneered, looking up from below, his eyes gleaming with predatory intent.
Every time he sent his strings after me, I dodged them quickly, maneuvering through the air. My heart pounded as I silently urged Luffy to hurry. "Come on, Luffy, we're running out of time," I thought, desperately trying to keep ahead of Doflamingo’s relentless pursuit.
He lifted himself into the air, closing the gap between us with a quick surge of his threads. He swung again, aiming a punch at me, but I blocked it, my arms straining from the impact. “I don’t want to use my blades... not yet,” I thought, trying to hold off the full extent of my power.
Doflamingo's smirk widened as I continued to block his attacks. “My princess, always so defiant. But there’s something you need to understand...” he purred, his voice laced with dark amusement. “In the end, you’ll always end up in my grasp.”
Before I could react, Doflamingo's fist crashed against my cheek, landing with brutal force. The sheer power of his punch sent me hurtling toward the ground. I hit the earth with a loud, painful thud, the impact reverberating through my bones.
The world spun for a moment, my vision blurred as I tried to regain my senses. Pain radiated through my body, but I gritted my teeth, pushing myself to my knees. I wiped the blood from my mouth, glaring up at him.
His laughter echoed around me, a sickening sound that only fueled my determination.
I clenched my right hand once more, feeling the familiar surge of strength travel up my arm. “Doflamingo…” I said, my voice hoarse, coughing slightly from the impact of his last blow.
“It won’t be much longer now!” The loud voice of the announcer echoed through the streets. “Our hero is on his way! Surely, you remember him! Or should I remind you?!”
“Luffy...” I thought, a flicker of hope surging within me. If the announcer was right, Luffy was seconds away from being here. Doflamingo seemed momentarily distracted by the voice, his eyes narrowing as if the mention of Luffy reignited an old fury.
Seeing my chance, I clenched my left hand, the energy surging through me as I pushed off the ground. “Hey, Doffy!” I shouted, getting his attention as I launched myself toward him with everything I had. "Stay focused!"
Before he could react, I landed a solid punch straight to his jaw, sending him crashing to the ground below. I landed, breathing heavily, my fists still crackling with energy. Doflamingo slowly rose, his breath labored as he wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, the fury in his eyes burning hotter than ever.
We were both exhausted, but I couldn’t let up now. Luffy was almost here.
“You’re mine now, Princess!” Doflamingo taunted, closing the distance between us with malicious intent. I braced myself for his attack, but just as his strings reached for me, I felt a sudden shift and everything around me blurred.
I was switched mid-air, landing on top of a nearby building instead of crashing into the ground. Before I could process what had happened, I felt something solid beneath me—someone, and then an arm wrapped tightly around my waist. A sense of familiarity washed over me instantly.
Law had used his powers to switch me with Luffy, which meant Luffy was now ready to face Doflamingo. “Well, well, looks like you just can’t stay out of trouble,” Law teased from beneath me, his usual calm voice now mixed with relief.
I smirked, looking down at him as I realized where I was. “Oh, so you were watching me the whole time, huh?” I said playfully, crossing my arms in a mock display of defiance. His gaze flickered, and I noticed his attention suddenly shift toward my chest, a hint of color rising to his cheeks.
“Caught you staring, huh?” I teased, uncrossing my arms and placing both hands on his chest to give him an even closer view.
Law’s expression shifted as he pulled me closer, his head nestling between my neck and shoulders. He pressed soft kisses along my skin, each one igniting sparks within me. “You should’ve been more careful,” he murmured between kisses, his voice a mixture of concern and desire.
“I’m fine,” I whispered, threading my fingers into the back of his hair and scratching lightly. He let out a soft groan, leaning into my touch as if trying to drown out the worries creeping in.
“Did you really think I’d just sit back and watch?” he said, his kisses trailing lower, punctuating his words with warmth. “You always dive headfirst into danger… why do you have to be so reckless?”
“What can I say? I enjoy a little chaos,” I replied with a teasing grin.
“Stop teasing,” he murmured, frustration mingling with longing as he pressed his lips against my neck again, his breath warm against my skin.
As he continued kissing his way up to my face, I winced slightly, the pain from Doflamingo’s punch flaring as a bruise began to form. Law paused, his expression shifting from longing to worry. “Y/N, are you hurt?” he asked, concern etched across his features, his lips hovering just inches from mine.
“It’s nothing I can’t handle,” I assured him, though the sting was a stark reminder of our reality. His eyes bore into mine, filled with fierce protectiveness that made my heart race.
“I don’t like seeing you in pain,” he murmured, pressing his forehead against mine, the warmth of his presence wrapping around me like a shield. Just as Law was leaning in, both Rebecca and Viola came rushing toward us.
"Princess!" they yelled in unison, breaking the moment. Law muttered under his breath, "Can't have you alone for five minutes, I swear!"
I tried to stand up, but my body gave way, and I landed back in Law's lap once more. "I’m glad you guys are okay!" I said, forcing a smile despite the lingering pain.
"Princess, I have to ask—how did you know what to do with Doflamingo? Even with my clairvoyance, I saw his demeanor shift," Viola questioned, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Law's grip around my waist tightened, his protective nature coming through even now. I took a breath, recalling the tension of the moment. "I knew he was obsessed with me before we got to Dressrosa. And I also knew that when he first captured me, he enjoyed the chase and the thrill of it all."
I looked between Viola and Rebecca, gauging their reactions. "Now, I’ll admit I’m also a woman who enjoys a little bit of thrill and danger, as you can tell with my reckless plans," I smirked playfully. "But I knew that getting him to lower his guard was the tricky part, so the seduction played a heavy hand in my strategy. I needed him to think that all the games he played with me made me crave him."
Viola nodded slowly, her expression a mix of admiration and concern. “You really used his own obsession against him, didn’t you?”
I nodded, my smile turning a bit more serious. “Exactly. Doflamingo thrives on control, but he’s also impulsive when it comes to his desires. If I could make him believe I was intrigued by him, even for a moment, I could manipulate his focus. I didn’t even use my blades for the fight after I shocked him either; my mission was to buy enough time. If it meant distracting him, baiting him with the idea that he had me, then so be it.”
Rebecca leaned in, intrigued. “That’s incredibly risky.”
“Risky is an understatement,” Law interjected, his tone sharp with worry. “You could have gotten yourself killed.”
I waved him off, a playful grin returning. “But it worked, didn’t it? He underestimated me, thinking I was just a pretty face. I knew I had to spark his interest and play to his ego. When I challenged him, that shift in his demeanor—his desire to dominate—became my weapon. Now, I didn’t think you two were both within Doflamingo's range, so that part I had to figure out a way for you to be left out of harm's way.”
Viola leaned back, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. “So, it was a mix of seduction and strategy. You made him believe he was in control, all while plotting your escape.”
“Exactly,” I confirmed. “And I knew that my skills and my defiance would just fuel the fire of his sick desires. He thrives on challenges, and I knew I could make him think I was playing his game while actually planning my next move. The more I made him believe I craved him, the more he would let his guard down. Sometimes, you have to dance with the devil to outsmart him." I shifted out of Law's lap and settled beside him, my breath still heavy from the fight with Doflamingo. I took off my tiara and set it down, leaning back against the wall. “Now all that’s left is for Luffy to kick his ass.”
Just then, the announcer’s voice boomed, “Our champion, our Lucy, is here at last!” I smiled, the sound of Luffy’s name filling me with hope.
But then, Doflamingo’s voice sliced through the moment. “So that’s where you ran off to, Princess!” he shouted, his gaze locking onto Law and me. “You get front row seats for what I’m about to do, and then we can get back to our fun from before.” His laughter sent a chill down my spine.
I tensed, using the wall for support as I stood up. “Luffy... will kick your ass!” I yelled, determination fueling my voice.
Suddenly, Doflamingo unleashed a barrage of strings that sent Luffy crashing into a stone. “Come on, Luffy!” I thought desperately. But then I saw him shift, his body pulsing with energy as he unleashed Fourth Gear once more. The Birdcage was closing in, and my heart raced. “This is it!” Rebecca shouted.
As Luffy and Doflamingo flew into the air, Luffy yelled, “Every time you grab whatever you want and strangle it! You can’t have everything, and you can’t control everyone!” My eyes widened, tears welling as I watched Luffy confront Doflamingo.
“Your twisted games end here!” Luffy shouted, his voice echoing through the arena. “You’ve hurt my friends! You’ve destroyed innocent lives! Just looking at you... makes it harder for me to breath!”
“Kong Gun!” he yelled, and the impact reverberated through us. I held my breath, my heart racing. “Lucy!” the announcer called, and I could feel the energy shift.
“Luffy!” I shouted, my voice carrying hope. “Fight, Lucy!”
The moment Luffy landed a direct hit, sending Doflamingo crashing down, I couldn’t hold back my laughter, tears flowing freely down my cheeks. “He did it!” I cried, dropping to my knees as the weight of the battle finally lifted. Buildings began to crumble around us, the force of Luffy’s attack shaking the ground.
I glanced to my right, seeing both Viola and Rebecca in tears, looking skyward, sharing in the moment of liberation.
“Luffy!” I shouted, scrambling to my feet as he shambled toward us. “You did it, Captain!” I smiled, tears still streaming down my face.
“Strawhat...” Viola murmured, and we exchanged a silent smile, a shared understanding of what this victory meant.
“Look to the sky, Dressrosa! Watch it fade... the Birdcage... and Doflamingo's reign over us!” the announcer proclaimed. “The Dressrosa Defensive War, 2000 wicked pirates versus the fateful warriors who gathered here far and wide... culminating with their leaders: Donquixote Doflamingo versus Lucy! The winner is...”
I turned to Rebecca, tears falling onto Luffy's face. “The winner is... Lucy!”
“It took the announcer long enough to say it…” I said, trying to lighten the mood, even as exhaustion washed over me.
Luffy rested, Rebecca cradling his head in her lap. I slowly pushed myself up, my legs wobbling as the adrenaline faded, replaced by sheer exhaustion. Each step felt heavier than the last. “I think... I think I’m going to—”
Before I could finish, I fell to my knees and then onto the ground.
“Princess!” Viola yelled, rushing to my side. I smiled weakly, surrendering to the exhaustion that enveloped me. It felt so good to let go.
Law POV…
“Y/N!” I yelled, watching as Viola rushed to your side. My heart pounded in my chest; I’d known you would crash eventually. I took a moment to catch my breath, still reeling from the battle.
“Hey Luffy, Y/N! Where are you guys?” I heard Usopp’s voice, his panic cutting through the chaos.
“Hey Zoro! You’re all okay! You heard Luffy knocked the lights out of Doflamingo!” Usopp called out, his relief evident.
“I heard,” Zoro replied, a hint of annoyance in his voice. “And Y/N knocked out a top executive and fought with Doflamingo again. That reckless—”
“That was a super victory for us too!” Franky chimed in, grinning widely.
Viola turned to me, her expression serious. “It’s time we let Strawhat and the princess know they’re both safe, don’t you think?”
I nodded in agreement, a mix of pride and worry swirling within me. “Yeah, it’s time.”
Zoro POV…
“You guys!” a voice called from above.
“It’s Viola!” Usopp shouted, pointing upward. “We’re up here! Both Strawhat and the princess are up here!” she waved, motioning us to come.
Y/N... I thought. Relief washed over me at the sound of her name, the weight of worry lifting slightly. That meant she was okay. We hurried up the building, scaling the steps as fast as we could.
As we reached the top, I called out, “Luffy! Y/N!” But what I saw instead was both of you resting. Rebecca was sitting close, watching over you and Luffy with a protective look on her face.
I walked toward you both, my eyes immediately landing on Y/N. “Y/N...” I whispered softly as you stirred slightly, your eyes fluttering. My heart clenched at the sight of the bruise forming on your cheek, and the other visible wounds that littered your body.
“She fought hard... the princess,” Rebecca’s voice broke my thoughts, and I glanced at her.
“She saved both Viola and me, and even faced Doflamingo once more,” she added, her voice filled with admiration.
I couldn’t help but smirk a little, my chest swelling with pride as I looked down at you. I knelt beside you, carefully lifting you into my arms. “That’s my girl,” I whispered, feeling an overwhelming sense of pride as I held you close. You were reckless, stubborn, but you were strong—stronger than anyone I knew.
Usopp began placing Luffy on top of the bird, carefully settling him down. Luffy, even in his exhaustion, muttered something about needing meat, his usual post-battle cravings kicking in. Law was next, his energy drained, but he still managed to climb onto the bird without much help.
When it was time for Y/N, I turned to Usopp. “I’ll take her,” I said firmly. I gently lifted Y/N, positioning her behind me with her face resting against my back. Her legs wrapped loosely around my waist, and I could feel her soft, steady breathing as she leaned into me.
As Y/N’s weight pressed gently against my back, her arms resting limply around my shoulders, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of responsibility for her. I adjusted her again, making sure she was secure. Her breath was warm against my neck, reminding me of how close she had come to danger today.
Usopp gave another amused glance in my direction. “Seriously, man, if Sanji saw this, he’d be flipping out. Probably light five cigarettes at once.”
I snorted, shaking my head. “Yeah, well, he’s not here, so I don’t have to deal with his whining.”
I could feel Y/N’s grip tighten slightly, even though she was still half-conscious, her body leaning into mine for support. “Just rest,” I muttered quietly, feeling the weight of the fight and the exhaustion settling in for all of us.
“Let’s get out of here,” I said, glancing at Usopp, as I made sure Y/N wouldn’t slip, her cheek resting gently against my back.
Hours passed as we finally made it to a small cottage—Kyros’ house. Luffy lay bandaged in a bed, completely out of it, while Law was similarly patched up, occasionally flicking his eyes open. You were resting your head on my lap, your breathing steady but still showing signs of strain from the battle. Every once in a while, you shifted, your face scrunching slightly as though reliving the fight in your dreams.
Kyros handed out blankets, and I carefully draped one over you, ensuring it covered your exposed body. You nuzzled closer to me for warmth, the movement subtle, but enough for me to notice. My hand instinctively moved to your head, gently running my fingers through your hair in an attempt to soothe you.
"Roronoa!" Law’s voice came out in a harsh whisper, pulling my attention away from you. I turned to him, smirking slightly, still petting your head.
"What?" I muttered, keeping my tone low as I looked down at you, hoping you would settle back into a peaceful rest.
Law's eyes flickered with something other than exhaustion—jealousy. He glanced between us, his expression strained, trying to keep his usual calm, but there was a certain tightness to his jaw. "You’re really getting comfortable, huh?" he muttered, his voice barely hiding the edge of annoyance.
I raised an eyebrow, amused by his reaction. "She’s resting," I said, keeping my tone light, but there was no denying the satisfaction I felt. His jealousy was clear, and the corners of my mouth tugged into a smirk as I continued to stroke your hair.
Soon after, Law drifted off to sleep, along with Kyros and Usopp. The small cottage was quiet, save for the crackling of the fire and the sound of our comrades breathing softly in their slumber.
“Can’t say I blame him,” Robin remarked, her voice soft yet amused as she nodded toward Law.
“Money’s on him sleeping longer than anybody,” Franky added, adjusting his mechanical eye with a chuckle.
Just as the atmosphere began to settle, the door creaked open. I instinctively moved, carefully laying you down on the floor as I got ready to defend, my hand hovering near my swords.
"Catch!" A bottle of wine was thrown my way, and I snatched it out of the air just as a familiar figure stepped inside.
"Sabo!" Robin exclaimed, rising from her seat.
"You know him?" I asked, still holding the bottle, my eyes narrowing as I assessed him.
“That’s Luffy’s brother,” Robin explained.
“Luffy’s brother?” Franky and I both shouted in unison, causing you to stir, groaning softly from the sudden noise.
Sabo stepped forward, quietly closing the door behind him. He placed his hat down and made his way toward Luffy, sitting beside his sleeping brother. “He’s with the Revolutionary Army, isn’t he?” Franky asked, still fiddling with his eye.
Sabo nodded. “Correct. But I didn’t just come to see Luffy. I came to see her as well, before I leave,” he said, standing and walking toward you.
"How do you know her?" Robin asked, curiosity coloring her tone.
Sabo hesitated for a moment before answering. “Well, it’s kind of a long story, but to sum it up, I was with her on the island where she trained under the alias ‘Sam.’” He knelt down beside you, gently lifting you into his arms. As if on instinct, your hands reached for his shirt, gripping it softly. Sabo chuckled, stroking your hair. “Looks like she still remembers when I used to do this.”
A faint smile appeared on your lips, the tension in your features easing as Sabo continued to hold you.
“So you’re the guy she told us about,” I said, taking a swig of the wine, watching the scene unfold.
“She only knew me as Sam. She never knew me as Sabo,” he explained, his gaze never leaving you. “When I saw her here in Dressrosa, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’ve wanted to tell her the truth for a long time… and when I finally did, she forgave me.”
He gently traced the anklet around your ankle, the one you always wore, even in battle. “That anklet she wears... that was my farewell gift to her.”
“So, you’re the one who taught her that monstrous kick ability?” Franky chimed in, his voice half-impressed, half-joking.
Sabo smiled again. “Yeah... that was me,” he admitted, though his smile seemed tinged with something deeper, something bittersweet. He looked down at you once more, his hold on you tightening slightly, as if letting go would cause more pain than he could bear.
“Did you know she loves to be held like this?” Sabo said quietly, his voice softer now, as though he were talking to himself as much as to us. “I learned that back on the island after a few months. She used to have recurring nightmares... nightmares of Sabaody.”
He paused, swallowing the emotion building in his throat before continuing. “She’d come looking for me in King’s palace. When she found me, whether I was in the office or my room, she’d always ask if she could stay with me. I didn’t mind… It made her feel safe.”
A tear slipped from Sabo’s eye, falling and landing gently on your face as he smiled wistfully. "Did you guys know she’d train from sunrise until midnight? Relentless. King’s men didn’t hold back at all, and neither did King. But over time, he started to go a little easier on her. He couldn’t help but soften up to her." He chuckled, shaking his head as more memories flooded back.
I took a swig from the bottle in my hand, curiosity getting the better of me. “Why didn’t you say goodbye that day?”
Sabo’s face grew serious. “I couldn’t. I had to finish the mission I was on. I stayed for two years to be with her, but I knew if I said goodbye, I wouldn’t have been able to leave. I had to play the role, stay undercover, and make sure she didn’t know who I really was. I was just the nurse to her then.”
With that, Sabo gently laid you back down and pulled a familiar bottle from his coat pocket—the ointment you’d often use on the ship. As he began to carefully unwrap your bandages, revealing the bruises and injuries that covered your torso and arm, he worked with precision, applying the ointment as though it were second nature.
“She got hurt pretty badly once,” Sabo said, his voice soft. “She refused to let anyone help her, so I snuck in while she was asleep and patched her up. The next morning, she was up and moving again, completely clueless that I’d been there.”
Robin watched him closely, smiling. “It sounds like you share a lot of memories with Y/N.”
Sabo’s gaze lingered on you, his voice softening even further. “More than I could count, Robin.” He laughed quietly. “But if she remembers this, she’ll probably punch me for being ‘too soft’ again.”
I smirked, leaning back and taking another swig. “Looks like you’ve got your hands full.”
Sabo chuckled, looking down at you. “Yeah… but I wouldn’t have it any other way. She's stubborn, reckless, and drives me crazy—but that’s what makes her... her.”
Once Sabo finished rebandaging you, he gently placed you back on his chest, your breathing more even now, the faint smile returning to your face. His fingers lightly stroked your hair, and he seemed reluctant to move.
Robin’s voice cut through the silence, gentle but curious. “Do you really have to go so soon, before Luffy and Y/N wake up?”
Sabo nodded, his expression serious. “Yeah, I do. There’s some trouble heading toward Dressrosa as we speak.”
Franky raised an eyebrow. “Who’s causing trouble now?”
“CP0,” Sabo said, and Robin tensed immediately, her sharp eyes narrowing.
I took another swig from the bottle, listening closely. “I remember the mix-up with Doflamingo,” I muttered. “They played a key role in that, didn’t they?”
Sabo nodded grimly. “Exactly. They’re not here for sightseeing. CP0 is coming for us, and things are going to get crazy in a day or two.”
I grunted, leaning back. “Well, we weren’t planning on sticking around much longer, anyway.”
Franky crossed his arms, eyeing Sabo. “I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that you’re Luffy’s brother, and on top of that, you know Y/N too?”
Sabo smiled, but it was tinged with sadness. “Yeah... It’s a long story, but Luffy, Ace, and I were inseparable as kids. We made a vow over a cup of sake to be brothers, and we spent our childhood dreaming of setting out to sea together.”
He paused, his voice quieter now. “Everyone thought I died, though. When my ship got hit by a Celestial Dragon, I was lucky enough to survive, but I didn’t remember anything for years. By the time I regained my memories, I found out Ace was gone...” His grip around you tightened a little, and you furrowed your brows in response, still fast asleep.
The room fell silent as we all absorbed his words. The weight of his memories, and his loss, was palpable. Sabo took a deep breath, looking down at you with a soft expression. “But at least I found Luffy again…and Y/N.” This reckless woman,” he chuckled, “she kind of reminds me of myself in some ways. Always going headfirst, without thinking things through.” He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, radiating warmth and care.
"She's a heavy sleeper," Franky remarked, causing a few chuckles to ripple through the group.
“Lady Y/N must have been utterly exhausted after what she did,” Kinemon added earnestly. “From being taken by Doflamingo to having him obsess over her every move, getting people to follow her and chase her—all while also getting extremely injured—it must have been a lot for her.”
I nodded, watching her peaceful face resting against Sabo’s chest. “Yeah, she really went all out,” I said, crossing my arms. “She fought hard and still managed to get back up after facing Doflamingo again. That takes guts.”
"On top of that, she even beat one of Doflamingo's top executives with the blades King gave her," I added, recalling the brilliant flashes of red lightning and blue hue that erupted from the palace during the fight. "That was insane! It was like she harnessed the power of the sky itself.”
Sabo's eyes widened in shock at my words, his expression shifting to one of deep contemplation. “You saw the blue hue and red lightning?” he asked, his voice slightly strained. “King mentioned that once those two were harnessed, the remaining colors would show up soon. Each energy she channels, whether she’s holding the blades or not, enhances her ability, making her more of a threat than ever.”
“Really?” Franky said, his curiosity piqued. “That sounds incredible!”
Sabo nodded, his gaze turning distant. “I remember when he was going to give her those blades; those were the same blades used in her training. She’d get so mad because she didn’t understand or didn’t get the moves right. But look at her now. She’s grown so much.”
“Yeah, she’s fearless,” I added, glancing back at the others. “But it’s that same fearlessness that gets her in trouble sometimes.”
Sabo looked down at Y/N, a mix of pride and concern clouding his features. “I just wish she wouldn’t push herself so hard.
“I truly don’t want to say goodbye just yet, especially as it would only add to Y/N’s frustration at me since I did it once,” Sabo said, his voice laced with reluctance as he gently placed her back on the floor. Y/N stirred slightly at the movement, but her eyelids remained heavy.
“Robin, I’m leaving these things to you,” he continued, removing his coat and handing her two Vivre Cards—one for Luffy and the other for Y/N—along with a letter written specifically for her. “You sure about this, Sabo?” Robin asked, a hint of concern creeping into her voice.
“Yeah, I have to,” he replied, his expression somber.
As he spoke, I stood up, feeling an urge to stop him. “As much as I hate it, I have to leave,” he said, making his way toward the door. He paused, glancing back at us, the weight of his decision evident in his eyes. With a heavy heart, he closed the door softly behind him.
Suddenly, a groan escaped Y/N as she sat up, rubbing her eyes to adjust to her surroundings. Her gaze wandered until it landed on Sabo’s coat, and then her eyes shot to the door, realization dawning on her. She quickly threw off her blanket and bolted toward the door, panic etched on her face.
“Y/N, wait!” I shouted, but it was too late; she had already shut the door, her determination overriding my warning.
I shared a glance with the others, worry etched across our faces. “What’s she thinking?” Franky muttered, but I could already guess the answer. She wasn’t going to let Sabo slip away without a fight.
 Y/N POV:
“So you think you can just walk out without saying goodbye?” I called out, frustration bubbling to the surface as I watched Sabo from behind. My heart raced, the tension palpable in the air between us.
“It’s not what it looks like,” he replied with a sigh, turning to face me. His expression was a mix of regret and determination, but all I felt was anger simmering beneath the surface.
“Oh really?! Because it’s exactly what it looks like, Sabo!” I shot back, my arms crossed defensively. The glow from my blades intensified, casting a green hue around me, a reflection of the power and emotions swirling within.
Sabo’s eyes widened slightly at the sight of my blades lighting up. “Y/N, I—”
“Why do you keep doing this?” I whispered, a tear slipping down my cheek, leaving a warm trail in its wake. “You did it back when I was leaving and didn’t say goodbye, and now you’re doing it again!” My body shook with the intensity of my emotions, frustration and hurt colliding within me.
Sabo stepped closer, his hand reaching out to caress my cheek, gently wiping away the tear that had fallen. “I don’t like saying goodbye, that’s why,” he whispered, his voice barely audible, filled with an aching sincerity. “To me, goodbyes mean I will never get to see you again.”
As he spoke, tears began to well in his eyes, mirroring my own pain. The vulnerability in his expression tugged at my heartstrings, and I felt the weight of his words settle between us.
“Then don’t say goodbye,” I urged, my voice trembling as I fought against the emotions threatening to overwhelm me.
As Sabo leaned in, our lips met in a tender kiss, and I felt the warmth of his emotions flooding through me. I kissed him back, pouring every ounce of my feelings into that moment. When we finally pulled away, our foreheads resting against each other, he looked deep into my eyes, a mix of determination and sorrow on his face.
“I have to go,” he said, his voice thick with unspoken emotions. “But I promise, once we’ve accomplished what we hope for, we will reunite someday. I won’t let this be the end for us.”
I nodded, my heart aching at the thought of him leaving but feeling a flicker of hope at his words. “Promise me you’ll stay safe,” I urged, my voice trembling slightly. “And don’t forget about me.”
He smiled softly, the corners of his eyes crinkling in that way I had grown to love. “I could never forget you, Y/N. You’re too important to me.”
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper, scribbling my number on it. “Here,” I said, handing it to him. “Call me when you can. No matter what happens, I want to hear from you.”
Sabo took the paper, his expression warm and sincere. “I will. I promise.”
As Sabo turned to leave, he paused, a playful glint returning to his eyes. “Wait,” he said, stepping back towards me. “I almost forgot something.”
Before I could process what was happening, he leaned in and captured my lips again in a soft kiss. My heart raced at the sudden affection, and I melted into it, savoring the warmth of his presence.
When he pulled away, he smirked slightly, a hint of mischief in his expression. “And this one’s for the good luck kiss I wanted back in Dressrosa.”
He leaned in again, pressing his lips to mine with a deeper intensity. I kissed him back, pouring all my unspoken feelings into that moment, feeling as if we were suspended in time.
When we finally broke apart, both of us breathless, I could see the mix of emotions on his face—hope, determination, and a hint of sorrow. “Now I really have to go,” he said, his voice softening. “But remember, we’ll reunite one day.”
“I’ll hold you to that,” I replied, my heart swelling with warmth despite the ache of his impending departure.
slowly made my way inside, where Robin’s eyes were on me, concern etched across her face as she noticed the turmoil within me.
Once inside, I slid down the door and buried my face in my hands, the weight of the moment crashing down. As tears began to flow, I felt a gentle presence beside me. Robin knelt down and wrapped her arms around me, pulling me close.
“It’s okay, Y/N,” she whispered softly, her voice soothing like a gentle tide. “Let it all out.”
I let every emotion pour into her shoulder, the frustration, the longing, the hope—everything I had bottled up since Sabo’s unexpected arrival. Robin held me tightly, her presence a steady anchor in the storm of my feelings.
“He cares about you, you know,” she said, her words a balm to my aching heart.
I nodded, taking comfort in her words, though the ache of separation still lingered. I finally understood why Sabo hadn’t said goodbye before; it hurt too much. Saying goodbye meant accepting that I might not see him again, and the thought was unbearable.
With a heavy heart, I whispered, “It hurts to say goodbye, Robin.”
“It always does,” she replied gently.

Mischief (Tales From the Heart)
Fandom: One Piece Rating: Gen Genre: Friendship Characters: Bepo, Penguin, Shachi, Heart Pirates Been a while since I last wrote for this series, I know... saw a prompt about Penguin and Shachi swapping hats and had to write it! Regarding Penguin's hair colour, we have exactly one manga panel (in chapter 922) that shows that it's light, so that's what I'm rolling with!
It did not take Bepo long to realise that today was a Mischief Day.  His nakama did that, sometimes.  All of them had been known to do it, but Penguin and Shachi were the worst-offenders – or at least the longest-running offenders, especially because Bepo had known them since they were cubs and they’d always been a bit mischievous, from the second day he knew them (he didn’t count the first day, because they’d been scared of him, and it had hurt, but at least they had sorted that out years ago).
Penguin and Shachi had many reasons for Mischief Days, Bepo had figured out over the years.  Boredom was one.  Unease was another, causing mischief to distract from it.  Breaking tension in the crew, especially when it was Captain that was tense, because no-one else in the crew had the decade-long bond of knowing exactly when and how to distract Law for maximum effectiveness.
Given that Law had been on edge for the past week – planning to be a Shichibukai was not easy, Bepo had quickly surmised – and the rest of the crew had been feeling it, too (even Bepo’s mink was slightly raised, unable to fully relax), Bepo wasn’t actually surprised when he saw Shachi but smelt Penguin, then saw Penguin but smelt Shachi.
There were other clues, too, but it was the scent that gave them away – and Bepo knew he was the only one in the crew that trusted scent over sight.
He wasn’t going to interrupt their mischief.  He felt bad when he did that, even though they were never mad at him when he did – but sometimes a little frustrated, if he did it too soon (and then they got frustrated when he said sorry; there was no winning with his nakama, sometimes).  It was easiest to say nothing now and then apologise to Captain later, when Law looked at him for knowing and saying nothing.
Law wouldn’t complain when he apologised, just sigh and tell him it wasn’t his fault, sending a disapproving look at Penguin and Shachi, who would shrug it off.
Breakfast was a chaotic affair, as always.  They didn’t do food fights, not after their much-appreciated cook had told them all off loudly, and Law had proven he would always win through abusing the Ope Ope no Mi that one time, but that didn’t stop food being snatched from plates and coffees being stolen, and the general rough-and-tumble of nakama having a good time.
It was so chaotic that no-one except Bepo even noticed when Penguin and Shachi swapped the food they’d been given each other’s, because their cook had been so rushed off his feet that he hadn’t noticed he’d given them each other’s trays.
Clione was their first victim, or at least the first one Bepo saw.  His hood was half falling off his head, leaving his mussed-up hair half exposed, but given he’d been on the night watch that was a normal sight.  Bepo and Penguin were the ones rota’d to relieve him, and Penguin had taken several long strides to keep up with Bepo as they made their way to the control room.
“Morning, Bepo,” he grinned, and Bepo returned the greeting.
At the sound of his name, Penguin grinned, and looked even more like Shachi.  Bepo wondered if he’d practiced that in the mirror, but didn’t ask.
“Knew you’d catch on,” Penguin said, but he held up a finger to his lips.  “Let us have our fun.”
“Okay,” Bepo agreed easily, because he already knew he would.
Clione blinked blearily at them as they walked in, clearly ready for bed.  He wasn’t as tired as he looked, Bepo knew, because if he was that tired he’d have woken someone to take over for him earlier – falling asleep on night watch was one of the few things Law had punishments for, because that endangered everyone, and everyone had had it drummed into them that they were to wake someone if they got tired.
“Shachi?” he asked.  “I thought it was Penguin’s shift after mine?”
“We swapped,” Penguin shrugged.
“Well that’s on your head when Captain finds out,” Clione yawned, because they were all nakama but there was still a hierarchy, and when Penguin or Shachi said something like that, Law was the only one that wasn’t expected to listen (Bepo wasn’t, either, but he did anyway, because it was less confusing that way).
Handover went as usual – no overnight problems, the Tang was swimming as smoothly as ever – and it was only when Clione stood up and took a second look at Penguin that he did a double take.
“What happened to your hair?” he squawked, poking at Shachi’s hat, and Shachi’s shades, and the cropped, blond hair that only one of the Swallow Island natives had.
“What do you think?” Penguin grinned, his sharp, Shachi-like grin, and Clione frowned at him before enlightenment struck.
“You- you swapped,” he parroted, throwing his hands in the hair.  Bepo made sure he was out of range of the flailing limbs – he didn’t deserve to be hit for their nakama’s mischief.  “Swapped clothes, you bastard.  What the hell, Penguin?”
“Felt like it,” Penguin shrugged, and Clione groaned.
“I’m going to bed,” he said firmly.  “It’s too early for this nonsense.”
“Sleep well!” Penguin called after him, and laughed as he got a middle finger raised in response.
The rest of the morning went the same way.  Bepo wasn’t always with one or both of them, but whenever he was, someone always fell for it.
Their voices weren’t that similar, but their accent was distinctive, the only members of the crew from that pocket of North Blue, and Bepo and the mischief makers had quickly realised that speaking wasn’t giving them away for the most part.
It did give them away to Law, though, who called Penguin over, had Shachi answer, and freeze, scrutinising him for a moment before sighing and putting a hand over his face.  “I said Penguin,” he said, and Shachi had pouted, but they’d obeyed.
By lunchtime, the sounds of “Pen- Shachi!” and Sha-Penguin!” and various iterations thereof, in increasingly frustrated voices, seemed to be a constant sound throughout the Tang.
They hadn’t actually done much – they were wearing each others’ hats, and both of them were wearing a pair of Shachi’s shades – but it was enough.  Penguin’s hat covered most of Shachi’s slightly wild red shock of hair, although it poked out around his face a little bit like a lion’s mane, while Shachi’s hat mostly covered Penguin’s rather shorter, cropped blond hair, but left it visible behind his ears and at the base of his skull.
It was enough to trick at a glance, but it wasn’t hard to tell who was who – or at least, Bepo didn’t think so, but when he pointed that out, after all their nakama knew about the switch, he’d been told that not everyone had a powerful enough sense of smell to tell them apart immediately.
His immediate apology was waved away.
Of course, Penguin and Shachi weren’t done with their mischief.  By mid-afternoon, their nakama had adjusted to it, so naturally they swapped back when no-one was looking (Bepo was looking, because Shachi had dragged him to stand guard – “we’re not fooling you anyway, so you can make sure no-one else catches us” – while they’d given each other their hat back.
The rest of the day was met with more frustrated “Pen-Shachi” and “Sha-Penguin” as their nakama slowly realised what they’d done.
The simmering tension about Captain’s shichibukai plotting had all but disappeared, though, and when Penguin and Shachi drew Bepo into a high-five just before lights’ out that night, their smaller hands slapping firmly into his pads and avoiding his claws with years of experience, Bepo knew they considered their mischief a success on all fronts.
He agreed.
