So with the release date being announced, I am throwing out my predictions for the new season of drive to survive, if only to say I called it

- Max is gonna be the most villainized he's ever been on the show

-ferrari plot line is either going to be about whether Ferrari fired the wrong driver or teammate rivalry where Charles is made out to be in the wrong using Las Vegas as proof

-if its whether Ferrari fired the wrong driver the episode title will be something dumb regarding regret or second thoughts

-there will be a rookie driver focused episode following Ollie, Liam, and Franco

-Daniel leaving is somehow a main plot point and you almost forget people weren't even sure it was his final race till after the race was over

-logan isnt mentioned they just introduce Franco like they do in those shows where they recast established/main characters and keep emphasizing their name

-williams focused episode just covers all their crashes this season and a speech where James vowel says this isn't acceptable and they can't continue like this and it must change

-Mclarens rear wing is only talked Abt for like 10 seconds

-no mention of how the FIA shit the bed during the Brazil gp in regards to safety or how the race director left debris on the track in Qatar for some reason?

-There is fewer Haas focused episodes cause they are a competent team now and komatsu isn't as comedic as Guenther

-Charles Monaco win is like 5 minutes of screen time and half of it is recounting how cursed he had been previously(cue dramatic flashback montage)

-Villain max evidence is just his Hungary radio messages and/or max pushing lando in Texas/Mexico

-There is a huge focus on a max/lando title battle where you can almost forget max won the championship in Vegas with like a 50+ point deficit

-A whole lando focused episode in which McLaren are portrayed as the new red bull

-Mclaren will have an Oscar/Lando rivalry episode where the race start in monza and Hungary are used to fuel the tension

-Lewis has like a whole episode about him/moving to ferrari in which Mercedes is mentioned like twice

-the red bull downfall storyline

-Monza gets it's own episode please🙏

-Williams or alpine essentially fulfills the role Haas left

-Alpine focused episode is about teammate rivalry between Pierre and Esteban and use Monaco contact to dramatize it. It's resolved with the power of friendship in brazil

-and episode/section about surprise wins/podiums (Brazil double alpine podium, lando Miami, ect)

-ferrari has a dramatic section so they can cover the triple header/Canada

-anything about checo is just gonna be him going out in Q1 or crashing out

-there is not a single mention of Max's car problem in Australia

If you do the Logan mini shots counterpart to Oscar’s 5 + 1 I think you need to include him doing some kind of voodoo witch magic curse on the paddock for the triple header because what is happening😭

Logan definitely didn't mean to cast a curse and he feels very guilty that it only seems to be affecting Alex so obviously he's got to fix this. He tries scribbling Franco’s number on the lego car and Google'd voodoo/curses to try and get it to transfer off of Alex 😅 (I'll point out that Logan is alone at home with only Joey and the wine so yeah)

I can also see him getting a picture of Franco and James and anything that he might have with their handwriting or something on to make it more personal. Oscar gets a little bit weirded out because he's just getting these really manic feelings through the bond and Logan's not answering his phone and he's so close to just flying home for two days to make sure everything's alright when Logan finally calls him back and Oscar just asks him to promise that he won't come home to any blood or dead animals

saw the news mid phone call with my mom as i was explaining logan's weekend so she got to hear me live process this info. whats crazy to me is that it's franco?? like really if it was someone w/ more experience id get it more, but to do the same thing over again. said to my mom, reminds me of leonardo dicaprio level of "oh no i've messed things up with this girlfriend, time to get a new, younger girlfriend the same thing TOTALLY won't happen this time" its just DUMB.

and it rly makes me thing there HAD to be some truth in the rumor that logan and james had a falling out bc this decision, so quickly so rash in the middle of a double header for a kid who's bound to make the same rookie mistakes as logan only really makes sense if there's a huge emotional aspect to it. that thing men do where they make an emotional decision and then build logic for it afterwards? thats the vibe

anyway all i'm focusing on is how relaxed and chill logan seemed last weekend, at peace, ready to go at any moment. good chance he wanted an out too. and i'm happy that this leaves him a chance to maybe try an indycar race before season end!! i know he has lots of good opportunities and this will not be the end for him unless he wants it to be
