30 Ace Attorney Headcanons!
1. We know for a fact that a lot of women had crushed on Miles, but people worldwide had crushes on Nahyuta because he is absolutely gorgeous. They know nothing of his past and some people had crushed on Simon.
2. Kristoph didn't give forged evidence to Phoenix so that Zak can plead guilty or anything of that sort, he gave him forged evidence and told Klavier so Klavier becomes popular in the world of law. He actually cares for Klavier in his own strict, weird and slightly harsh way.
3. Whenever Miles is flustered, he loses his British accent and reverts back to the American accent he grew up with when speaking English.
4. Klavier calls girls "Fräulein" which means "Missy" or something like that, and gives boys nicknames such as "Herr Forehead" or "Herr Samurai". But whenever he's stressed, anxious, nauseous or REALLY nervous or scared, he reverts back to first names or "Mr. ______" or "Ms. ______"
5. Nahyuta REALLY loved geography and history. He has memorised/memorized all countries, their capitals and a few other states by heart. And he has memorized/memorised the histories of about 5-6 countries.
6. Larry, Maya and Franziska have became uncle and aunt figures to Trucy. They take their roles very seriously because they know that Phoenix and Miles feel safe enough to let their daughter be around them, so they make sure not to be bad influences.
7. Simon is the least getting arrested because Athena was around and they didn't want her picking up on any bad habits. And after getting released, he got used to cursing in prison but upon seeing Athena again, he reverted to his old self.
8. Klavier and Simon are a duo of destruction in the prosecutors' building and they are best friends.
9. During AA4, Phoenix Wright is a recovering alcoholic.
10. Rayfa calls her older brothers "Braid Head" and "Horn Head" and acts more comfortable, natural and informal around them so they can feel a bit more comfortable with her. But they don't realize/realise it and they stick with the name "Your Benevolence" and they try not to get too comfortable or informal around her in fear that she'll dislike it which makes her feel alone and pretty sad.
11. Nahyuta, Apollo, Pearl, Athena, Simon, Kay, Beanix, Trucy and Zak are all ready to throw hands anytime, anywhere.
12. Lamiroir's latest music video is filled with hints of her real identity.
13. People in universe make theories about Lamiroir's real identity but whoever believes in those theories is called stupid. The biggest theory right now is her being Thalassa Gramarye.
14. Phoenix's beanie in AA4 was knitted by Trucy with the help of Franziska.
15. Phoenix got a long-term heart condition when Manfred tasered him.
16. In Turnabout Succession, when Vera looked at Klavier, small portion of her brain mixed him up with Kristoph and she thought that Klavier IS Kristoph. And that small portion manifested her whole, but when Klavier was being sweet and nice to her, she started doubting that he is Kristoph.
17. During AA6, Klavier was back in Germany and he couldn't look at himself without being reminded of his brother. He never knew his brother actually cared for him, and because of that he has a breakdown and cuts his hair. The same haircut for when he was 17.
18. Apollo's sprites in AA5 resemble Kristoph a LOT. Especially when he was testifying. Phoenix felt so disgusted because of that.
19. Miles doesn't care at all about his mother because she abandoned him and his father when he was about 4 years old. [Younger or older if you'd like]
20. Guy Eldoon became a doctor again after the events of AA4.
21. Out of everything that Apollo experienced, the worst event was Clay's death.
22. Miles tries not to get mad at his prosecutors because he loves all of them very dearly.
23. Apollo had black psyche locks regarding the death of his father and Phoenix has black psyche locks regarding his emotions.
24. Apollo and Clay were huge fans of The Avengers, Harry Potter and ANY fantasy series there is.
25. Clay and Mia know each other. They've met before and she was kinda like an older sister figure to him and a mother figure after his mother died.
26. Kristoph was actually friends with Dahlia and Matt.
27. Kristoph knows the real identity of the phantom.
28. The phantom was involved in the smuggling ring case in Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth
29. Apollo actually had a teeny weeny eeny meeny shrivelled little small crush on Clay but didn't tell him to not ruin their friendship. Or vice versa if you'd like.
TW: IMPLIED 4BU$3, MENTIONS OF KN!V3$
30. This is a long one and I'll need an image for it. So you know how I have a headcanon that Kristoph and Klavier and half-brothers from mother and that their parents decided to play favorites/favourites with them because Klavier's parent [father or mother, you decide] that is Kristoph's step-parent hated both the kids [3 if you headcanon a sister] and the parent got so mad because of an argument that they slashed Kristoph's hand with a knife. It was so bad that he got stitched up.
Yes he has a cut and here it is:

“Mr. Edgeworth!” Kay screamed as she tackled him in a hug.
“Oof! It is good to see you again Kay. How have you been?” He smiled, awkwardly returning the hug.
“Good! Good! Is Sebby here? I haven’t seen him in forever!” Kay let him go and began scanning the room.
“Prosecutor Debeste is currently in the middle of a trial, however you can stay at the prosecutor’s office until he returns. I have some people I think you would enjoy meeting.” He turned around and waved at her to follow him.
Kay had spent the last few months abroad, helping Franziska and interpol. With the recent end to an investigation, Franziska and her had returned to LA. Franziska would be leaving again in a few days, she only had to retrieve a few files, but Kay was planning on picking up an investigation here. She really did miss LA and it’s prosecutors.
“So, who am I meeting? Is it “that man”?” She asked, doing a terrible Edgeworth impression. He rolled his eyes.
“No. We’ve acquired two new prosecutors I’d like you to meet.”
They climbed the rest of the stairs, with Kay telling him all about her time with Franziska. Apparently Franziska had been done with Kay’s antics after day two. So, she’d told Kay to just investigate on her own, that explained the call he’d gotten. Not long after the two had left, Franziska had called him to tell him he was insane, and nothing else.
“Now, they are a little strange to say the least,” Edgeworth said, as they approached an office. “I’ll introduce you to prosecutor Gavin first, he’s the more… calm of the two.” He muttered something else that she missed. “Prosecutor Gavin,” he said, as he pushed open the door. They were met with yelling so intense, she was surprised they hadn’t heard it outside.
“Herr Samurai while you have a point-”
“Gavin-dono your refusal is futi-”
“Oh my god! You’re Klavier Gavin!” Both men stopped yelling at each other and turned to the door.
Kay stood jaw dropped, pointing at Klavier, and Edgeworth just sighed. She ignored him and ran up to Klavier.
“I love your music! Can I get an autograph? Or better yet,” she fished around in her bag and pulled out a Gavineers CD, “Can you sign this?”
Klavier shook off his shock, and glared at Simon who had started snickering. He turned back to Kay and smiled, “Of course Fraulein.” Kay let out an almost deafening squeal. “And who am I signing it to?”
“Kay, Kay Faraday. I thought Sebby was lying when he said he worked with THE Klavier Gavin… I guess I owe him an apology,” she grumbled the last part. The two prosecutors were shocked when Edgeworth gave Kay a fond smile.
“Now,” he said, turning back to the two prosecutors, “What on earth were you two fighting about?”
“Gavin-dono and I were merely having a heated debate on whether Justice-dono would accept the proposal of a date with him,” Simon smirked, watching as Klavier’s face turned pink.
Edgeworth nodded, “Please keep these debates civil, or do not have them at all. But for the record, I’m sure Mr. Justice would absolutely accept the proposal of a date.” He smiled, before turning around to leave. “Do not cause too much chaos Kay, Prosecutor Debeste should be returning soon.”
“Yes sir!”

Long Overdue || Drabble
Fandom: Ace Attorney     Wordcount: 6600 Warnings: None Summary: Nothing like a day out in an amusement park to finally confess to some things that have been due for a talk for a while
---------------------------------
"Hey, has anyone ever told you that you look like Klavier Gavin, the rockstar prosecutor?"
Klavier barely moved from the comfortable spot on the amusement park bench he had parked himself on, keeping an eye on his friends bags as he sat. Honestly, as much as he loved fan interactions, right now he couldn't even bring himself to lower his dark sunglasses or be entertaining to anyone.
Sure, he was doing a lot better; he took care of himself again, had his hair recut and dyed by a professional and wore different clothes than the hoodie and sweatpants he had been practically living in when stuck in the downward spiral he had found himself in.
But even then, healing isn't linear, and today was not a good day. Or at least not good enough to put on either of his roles.
".... Yeah, I get that a lot. Sorry to disappoint,” he said in the best American accent he could muster to play his role of not-Klavier convincingly.
"Come on, honey," called who he presumed was the mother of the girl looking at him. He could almost see the wheels turning in her head before she decided this random stranger was probably speaking the truth and ran off to join her family.
He sighed, leaning back on the bench. It had been so tempting to send Athena a text saying he couldn't come to the park outing today. The whole thing had been her idea after all, to take many of their coworkers and whoever wanted to join on a trip to this amusement park.
And really, the only reason he decided to grin and bear it was-
"Here you go."
Mary handed him a bottle of coke, moved her bag from the bench to set between her legs and sit down next to him. She opened the bottle she got for herself.
"Danke," he replied, mimicking her movement and taking a sip.
"Hey, Mary, can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, sure. Shoot."
He thought for a moment of how to word it. Mary.... wasn't exactly the type of person to be in an amusement park. Ever. While everyone else had run off in different directions, aside from Apollo who had been on Athena's tail for damage control probably, she had mostly been stuck watching the bags. And he had mostly stuck around her to keep her company because he felt bad about that.
Or that was what he told himself, anyway. The other half of that truth was that he couldn't bring up the energy to stand in line for anything, and the lines around here were long.
"You're afraid of heights, like, badly afraid of heights. Herr Samurai still adores talking about the time he and Gumshoe had to pry you off Herr Edgeworth's ladder and how long it took."
"Pfft, yeah. How does he say it again? 'Worst case of rigor mortis on someone not deceased I have ever seen'?"
Klavier couldn't help but laugh a little at Mary’s impression of Blackquill
"Basically. So, that makes me wonder. Why did you come out today?"
Mary looked at him, taking another sip of her drink.
"I hoped it would convince you to come out as well," she admitted.
"I thought, maybe, if I was here, you'd be here too- Less pressure to join into the attractions here if you didn’t feel like it and, well, it's good to see you out and about."
Klavier couldn’t stop a small smile from curling around his lips. It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture with good intentions, especially from someone who they definitely had to save from the rollercoasters and-
"I guess that means the Ferris wheel is out of the question?"
"Unless you want me dead, in which case I'll text Simon right now to prosecute you afterwards."
"Oof, not even giving me a fighting chance in court by bringing out the big guns for the trial?" Klavier laughed, with her just giving a small smile in return.
“Hey, if you’re going to kill me, I want you prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
“Fair enough.”
Klavier thought for a moment, his gaze on Mary who was calmly drinking some water. She had managed to fascinate him more and more recently, by really just pulling through and supporting him however she could. Even now, she was at one of the least likely places just in the hopes that being there would entice him to come along as well.
And, in her defense... clearly, it had worked. There had absolutely been a voice whispering in the back of his head that as long as Mary was there, Klavier wouldn't feel the need to be pushed into the wild attractions around the park that he would normally be thrilled at, but seemed a bit too overwhelming where he was at now. It was something he appreciated all the more now that he noticed it more.
So the least he could do was make sure she wouldn't just be used as some kind of packing donkey watch dog for the bags of everyone else. As if summoned by his thoughts, Athena suddenly appeared, closely followed by a very exhausted looking Apollo who had been having trouble to keep up and keep her out of trouble. Perfect.
"Wow, looks like both of you need a break. How about you take over bag duty for a while, and Mary and I find something to do?"
"Gladly!" Apollo jumped at the opportunity before Athena had a chance to chime in, immediately taking Klavier's spot on the bench as soon as the latter had bothered to get up
"But-" Mary softly protested.
"I won't drag you to the Ferris wheel," Klavier assured, offering her his hand to get up from the bench
"We'll find something lowkey to do instead. We didn't just come here to be packing mules, did we?"
A fair enough point. Mary took his hand to more easily get up from her sitting position, and left sticking closely by his side as to not lose him in the crowd. Athena just looked on as they left, before turning to Apollo.
"Was that planned?"
".... No."
"You're a bad liar, you know."
The park was honestly bigger than Mary had first imagined, and she stuck close to Klavier to make sure she wouldn't lose him or her way around. She hadn't been here before, since she honestly had no reason to.
"It's not just rollercoasters and high rides like that around here," Klavier explained, pausing for a moment to let her catch up as his longer legs made for a faster walking pace.
"I've been here a couple times before, and they're always adding new stuff and taking old rides out. I'm pretty sure they even added some of those plushie grabbing machines at some point-"
"I'm sorry."
"... For what?"
She shrugged, unsure of how to put what she was apologizing for. A sigh left her as she bit her lower lip.
"If you want to go on the rides, any rides, just.. go. I don't mean to hold you back because of my irrational phobia, or burden-"
"Don't do that," he stated softly, but no less firmly.
"You're not burdening me for needing me to take your fear seriously, and I promise this place has plenty of accommodations for you as well. You're making it sound like I'm performing some great feat of self-sacrifice for letting you decide how you want to spend your day when it’s not. If there is some higher ride or roller coaster that you want to try, I'll be right there with you on it, okay?"
She blinked, surprised by how casually he mentioned that. There was no pressure to try anything, only the promise that he would be there for moral support if she did decide to face her fear, and that she had a say in what she wanted to happen. Especially the latter part of it made her look down at the ground for a moment
"Yeah, well. You'd be surprised at how many people don't bother to accommodate like that..."
"You paid to be here, just as much as Apollo, Athena, Simon, Nevada and me. The least we can do is make sure you have a fun time as well. So, what do you want to do?"
"... The plushie machines sound like a safe bet for now. You know, as safe as an obvious cash grab can get."
"Ach, there's worse ways to burn pocket money. C'mon, this way."
She quickly went after him, instinctively reaching out and grabbing the sleeve of his jacket so she didn't risk losing him in the ever growing crowd. Plus, she preferred staying close to him anyway.
"Wow. Never thought I'd live to see the day where you couldn't charm some machine into doing what you want."
She laughed softly as Klavier threw her a side glance, the machine obviously besting him as the plushie he had been trying to get kept slipping from the metal claw, despite his best pleas against it.
"I swear these things have got to be illegal somehow. I should get the district court onto it," he said, easing up a little as he heard her laugh more audibly; it was just such a pleasant sound to him.
"This coming from the same person always telling me to be nice to the work printer," she grinned as she spoke, very lightly pushing him aside to gain access to the machine
"Here, let me try before you hurt your wallet as well as your pride."
She dropped money into the machine as well, giving herself three tries to get the plush parrot from the machine. As much as she would've loved to grab the plushie on her first go, Lady Fortuna wasn't that much on her side. She was still proud of herself for getting it on the second try, handing the plushie over to Klavier.
"Here you go. It's dumb luck, really."
"I was trying to get it for you," Klavier laughed. "Appreciate the thought, but a parrot suits you more than me."
"I'm an obnoxious mimic?"
"You're pret- pretty intelligent."
He tilted his head at the weird shift in her sentence, almost as if she had meant to leave a word out of the equation but her brain caught up with her before she did. He looked down at the parrot plush- typical fair stuff so not exactly of a very thrilling quality, but a sweet gesture none the less.
"I'll take pretty intelligent over pretty annoying," he said, earning himself a light shove to his arm as he laughed.
"Don't be rude to yourself," she replied, looking at the time on her phone afterwards.
"It's about to be lunch time, you hungry? I think I saw some interesting food joints on our way here."
They walked back, decided on one of the food joints together and found a bench to sit on while eating their lunch. An arguably unhealthy lunch, but a tasty one, and that's the best it would get in an amusement park.
There was a moment of silence between them as they ate, with Mary quietly wondering why this felt so much easier than any of the dates she had been going on. Well, she hadn't been, recently- Not since Simon advised her not to if it didn't help matters. Her gaze sort of accidentally met his when they both looked at each other from the corner of their eyes.
She quickly looked someplace else, praying to whichever god would listen that the warmth in her cheeks did not show up.
They hadn't really seen each other that much these past two or so weeks- Mary had been busy with work, again, and Klavier had been trying to piece his life back together while also dealing with an increased workload.
"So, uhm.." he started, pulling back her attention, "I heard through the grapevine that you kind of abruptly stopped going out with people.."
Mary looked up at Klavier, slowly taking a sip from her bottle of water. It wasn't exactly something she had been hiding from everyone, though she also didn't really openly talk about why she had decided to stop. Her hand subconsciously made its way to her necklace, fingers hooking behind the pendant as she moved it along the silver chain.
Klavier didn't pick up on it too much, only recognizing her nerves as such.
"Are you okay?" he asked, softly, wondering if something had happened and immediately feeling a wave of protectiveness washing over him.
"It's.. not what you think, Klavier. I didn't stop because someone was nasty to me, or anything like that. I.... only told Simon what happen, and that's after I begged him to not think of me as dumb or stupid, so."
"You know I'd never think that way of you," Klavier said softly.
Mary didn't even doubt that, but that didn't make admitting to what still felt like a very silly and stupid thing any easier.
"The last date I went on, was.. Nice. He was kind, genuinely interested..." her voice trailed off as she repeated the motion with the pendant of her necklace. She had been thinking about that particular date a lot lately, and how she had come to the same conclusion over and over again.
Yes, it was a nice date. Would've been perfect even, if she had only been on it with someone else.
"So what happened?" Klavier asked, genuinely curious as he took another bite of his lunch.
"... It just got way too close for comfort. I was used to being on bad dates that never went anywhere because, you know, they were bad dates. With people who would brag how I was number zillion on their list, with people who would treat wait staff horrendously and expected me to be okay with that, with people who really only wanted to hear the sound of their own voice and expected me to grovel at their feet for all their amazing accomplishments- I didn't have to actually consider starting anything with them because they already proved they weren't worth the effort I've got to put in to even begin falling in love, but..
Genuine interest in me? That was way too close for comfort. I didn't want to consider what that actually meant for me, so I blew it off really abruptly and only apologized over text when talking to Simon made me realise I was just. I don't know. Looking for distraction, or something? But I wasn't actually having any kind of fun, either way."
She bit her lip. It still felt awkward to admit that all it had been was basically a bad coping method to deal with a lot of conflicting emotions inside of her.
Klavier had just listened, clearly not judging her for what she needed to get of her chest.
"I guess I let a good one go," she concluded, "I do hope he found someone actually appreciative of his attentiveness, because he deserved better than how I ended things just because I ran scared."
"I guess we all do things we regret."
"Regret is.. I don't regret not going through with it. I'm mostly just upset that I was fully intent on ghosting him while making him think I just wanted a raincheck for a second date. I didn't want that second date, I just.. thought that would be a more gentle way of letting him down than just straight up going "I'm sorry, but your genuine demeanor terrifies me." because that sounds ridiculous even when I say it out loud now."
"So how did you actually end it, then?"
Mary clutched onto the heart pendant, instinctively.
"Uh.. I ended up sending him a message stating that I hadn't been honest with him, that I didn't want a second date; that it legitimately wasn't him but me with the issue, and that I hoped he'd find someone who would appreciate him like he deserves. Don't think I ever got a reply, either. He did read it though."
"Oof. Yeah, I can understand why that kept you from jumping back into the dating scene. Would you still want to?"
"Not.. really?" Mary replied in confusion. Klavier knew how she identified and how that affected her view on dating as a whole. Was he being deliberately obtuse about it, or did he just not remember? ... Admitting to it now wouldn't make it any easier, because it would also give away who she'd rather be spending her time with than the virtual strangers she had been on a date with.
The silence that now fell between them was awkward and uncomfortable, as both tried to focus on their lunch and a little less on each other.  Mary was wracking her brain, trying to find some way to make Klavier understand. But all she could think of was to admit that it would have been perfectly fine, all of it- had it been him, instead of Ren.
She tried to shake the thought off.
"I... I just don't think I wanna try it again. It doesn't appeal to me."
"I know; you don't need to defend yourself on it."
"That's not what I- I swear I'm telling you the truth. It was fine. He didn't do anything that warranted how I reacted. The whole thing would've been fine had it just been-"
"Mary-"
"You, jag älskar dig fortfarande"
Oh, fuck.
Her hands clasped over her mouth, as she pretty much heard herself internally scream. She really would've been better off reminding him of her demisexuality rather than whatever the hell this was. From her peripheral she saw him looking at her, in stunned silence and shocked confusion, and she felt how her whole face started to burn up into a bright hue of red.
Oh, she had to get the hell out of dodge. In a quick movement she stood up, clumsily grabbing her bag before it fell to the ground, her brain having come to such a screeching halt as it realized how badly it fucked up by not keeping up with her words that it now couldn't settle on which language to speak
"I uh- the uh- Toalett. for the- thing. With the grejer. I- Hejdå."
And before he even had a chance to stop her, she vanished in a nearby crowd and took off into the direction of one of the public bathrooms in the park.
"Mary!" he called after her, following her for a little bit before the crowd grew so thick that he lost her.
How was it this easy to lose someone with such a colorful hairstyle in a crowd? Guess all he could do was wait for her to come back. It wasn’t like he could completely follow her anyway. He sat back down on the bench, letting out a deep sigh as he slowly went over her words in his head, trying to remember what they meant. Goodbye, stuff, restroom basically….
Jag älskar dig fortfarande.
Well, he knew three of those words- it wasn’t the first time he had heard them, and heard them from her at that. His hand instinctively went up and into the back of his neck as he awkwardly tried to shift back into a comfortable spot on the bench he sat on, trying to ignore the heat that flared up throughout his face as the realization was starting to hit him like a brick to the back of the head.
… Oh.
Meanwhile, she had hidden herself in one of the bathroom stalls; her breath rushing through her lungs as she had made her escape while a sudden wave of anger at herself seemed to overtake her.
"What the hell was that about?!" she mentally yelled at herself, wrapping her arms below her chest and squeezing tight in some hope that the self-hugging would calm her down.
"First thing you do after seeing him again when you know he's trying to get himself back together is add to the shattered puzzle of his life by dumping your conflicting feelings onto him?!"
Oh, heavens above, what had she done? It had been a moment of weakness, once again one of those moments where her brain failed to catch and filter what her mouth wanted to say in time.
Between him being gone for his sabbatical and only sporadically returning now that he was feeling somewhat better, Mary had been constantly trying to ignore this soft, persistent voice somewhere deep within herself  that whispered that she missed him, a feeling that grew more with each day that passed by.
The same kind of voice that brought up Klavier more and more while he was gone, sure, but one that also made a guest appearance during damn botched date with Ren of; sure, this guy is fine, but he's not who you actually want, is he?
God damnit, was she just never going to get past this? Would she be stuck forever pining for someone who she feared she couldn't have anymore with all that had changed in their lives since last time, and especially not with where he was mentally at now?
It wasn't fair. Not to him. So all she could do was hope that he hadn't memorized her native tongue well enough to realise what she said.
With a final huff, she shoved the feelings back down, wiping away a few tears before flushing the toilet despite not having used at all. Better to fake it in that case When emerging from the stall, the only other person in there did look at her a little funny, but she just shrugged and washed her hands.
"Stomach ache," she muttered while passing by them to get back outside. That wasn't exactly a lie, anyway. She found him faster than he had lost her in the crowd, and he seemed legitimately relieved to see her.
"Hey, what was-"
"Can you please forget I said that? It's.... It's neither the time nor the place, I don't want to talk about it and I don't want it to ruin the time we have left in this day."
"I didn't even fully understand it in the first place," Klavier said, frowning at her sudden insistence that the subject should be dropped. He also knew better than to tell her the part he did actually understand, or rather, still remembered from their past. Pushing that on her now would absolutely only make matters worse.
".... I'll tell you some other time," she muttered, looking away.
"But for now, can we please just pretend this didn't happen? Please?"
An awkward silence fell between them as Klavier considered his options. The last thing he wanted was to feel like he was interrogating some witness to a crime- she wouldn't appreciate it, and it wouldn’t help any in matters this personal, regardless of how badly he wanted to admit that- He gave a resigned sigh.
"Sure."
They tried their best to just have a nice day afterwards and it only took a few hours for the whole group to gather back together at the entrance gate. Athena looked from Klavier to Mary, then to Apollo, and then to Simon and Nevada. The latter three seemed to immediately pick up on her thoughts as well. It was, after all, hard to ignore the tension between the blonde and the dyed redhead as it was so thick in the air between them that Simon could probably cut it with his katana if so desired.
It was one of the only times where Mary lowkey regretted being Klavier's carpool ride to anywhere. Because they had decided to go together, because it was her car, and because it made no sense to try and pawn him off to somebody else, the only likely end result was them sitting in silence for hours on end until they got home.
A deep sigh left her as she rummaged around her bag to fetch her keys, holding them out to Klavier.
"Do you mind driving us back? It's getting late.."
She decided to not add her thought that her confession stunt had also resulted into the beginning of a tension headache.
He just nodded, holding his hand out for her to drop the car keys in. She gave them to him without any hesitation, waited for him to unlock the doors and slid into the passenger seat. Since he was taller than her, he had to make some adjustments to the seat and rear view mirror, before buckling in himself and starting the car to drive off.
And the first hour or so of the car ride was indeed awkward in its silence, with Mary looking outside the window and Klavier keeping his eyes on the road. The only thing that was making any kind of noise was the car radio, which was on a low volume.
He had to suddenly break rather roughly when a car in front of them pulled an absolute crazy stunt; his arm instinctively reaching out and crossing over his passenger chest in a protective matter. There was no other intent behind it as he quickly withdrew that arm to hit the car horn, while the VW in front of them took off.
"I swear, some people have got to be bribing the DMV's for their licenses or something. What the actual hell was that? ... Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah.." Mary brought out shakily, and she herself couldn't tell if it was only from the shock of the sudden braking or that his natural instinct to try and protect her brought back that same whirlwind of emotions she had felt earlier today.
Klavier tapped on the steering wheel for a moment, thinking about what to do as the navigation system informed him that the route he wanted to take was coming to a crawl.
"I don't particularly feel like getting stuck in traffic for hours on end, mind if we take a scenic route instead?"
"Just.. get us home safely," Mary said softly, clearly not blaming him for what happened but just wanting to go home.
It was somewhere down this scenic detour that both their stomachs started to protest, that's kind of what happens when your last meal was a singular sandwich for lunch hours ago, so they both agreed to pull into a drive through and stay in the parking lot there.
After getting their food and drinks and finding a nice parking spot, Mary rolled down the window on her side for some fresh air and unfastened her seatbelt, before eating and drinking something. This silence was driving her up the wall, she had to say something.
"I'm sorry."
Klavier turned a little to look at her, surprise clearly written on his face.
"For what?"
"You know exactly for what."
Klavier thought for a moment, watching her as she quietly sipped from the soda she ordered. He wasn't entirely sure if this was an invitation to talk about what she had said at the park, but surely it would be best for the both of them to talk this out.
"Not exactly, but, I remember enough from when we used to-"
"Please, don't-" Mary started, flinching a little. Oh, this was a conversation she didn't want to have, though realized she had to at some point if she wanted this awkward tension between them to go away. But, fuck, that meant admitting again to certain feelings that could absolutely destroy the friendship they currently had.
Pressing her head back on the chair, she let out a sigh, then turned to look at him, and just lowkey gestured for him to continue what he wanted to say.
"... I remember enough to know what "jag älskar dig" means, at least," he said, turning away slightly as the heat returned to his face.
"Mh. Now just add "still" to the translation and you'll have the full sentence," Mary sighed, "And I'm sorry. Like I said, it's just not fair of me to throw that in the mix when you're still trying to put your life back together. You don't need the added stress of placating my emotions-"
"Mary-"
"I just don't want to lose what we already have, Klavier. This friendship we have- I don't want to risk that. I don't want a repeat of last time."
They both fell quiet, listening to the sounds outside of the car. Other cars passing by on the road a little bit further, the soft chirp of a songbird in a tree before it flew off. The sky was slowly being painted with hues of orange as the sun was slowly starting to set.
"... Do you... regret last time?" Klavier eventually asked, trying to gauge exactly where they were standing right now, while also trying to be mindful of her feelings- regardless if she said she didn't want him to. Just because his life had been ripped to shreds didn't justify being mean to her about feeling some kind of way.
And, well..
"Just the breaking up part, I guess," Mary answered in a non-committed tone, trying to lessen the blow for herself.
"... Not even at first, either. We were both so busy, you doubly so with your prosecutor career and the band taking off- and the workload for me just never slowed down either. When I got home I would just crash into my bed and sleep, only to wake up and repeat the whole process again. I... I don't know about you, but I was so busy I barely had time to really let that break up sink in. Plus, you were still..." her voice trailed off for a moment before she realised he was still listening to her. Where was she going with this? At least none of their friends were here to listen in on this, that was the one silver lining to them having gone by her car together.
This airing out probably never would’ve happened, otherwise.
"... I think I just never had the chance to actually miss you until you took that sabbatical- don't take that as me being upset about it, please, you needed the time off. But, like, you were always.. there.
In some way, shape or form; even on tours you still made time to check in on me. But to have you drop from the courthouse so abruptly, to very suddenly be presented with empty hallways and having to deal with a lot of general daily nonsense without you there to lift my spirits back up..... I just really missed you."
She sighed the last part, turning to look back out of the window as she couldn't remember the last time she had been so open about a deep, vulnerable thing, even with Klavier. Sure, he knew a lot about her, but she was willing to bet that it had been years since she had actually let him in on a much deeper issue than just her daily grind and the frustrations that came from that.
Klavier had just been listening, quietly trying to ignore the tugs on his heartstrings as she talked about him. The fact that she had missed him, and that she clearly wanted him around in her life, well, it absolutely affected him.
"I missed you, too," he admitted quietly, "And I appreciate that you didn't let me shove you aside like I did with most of our friends and acquaintances. When you showed up at my door with such determination to stay and help me... I needed that more than you can even begin to imagine. Thank you."
"That's what friends are supposed to do."
"… just friends, huh?"
Mary flinched again, though the slight disappointment in his voice took her a little off guard. What were they supposed to do? It felt like she had gotten herself stuck at a Y-split in the road, where she either confessed to what she actually wanted and risk getting rejected, or just finally bite her tongue and keep the status quo.
She took another long sip from her soda, it now having gotten to the point where doing so makes sound as the liquid is mostly at the bottom.
Klavier wasn't doing much better. Normally, he didn't have to think twice about what to say in a situation like this to make the best out of it. But with Mary, it was different; not only because his regular charm never really seemed to work on her. Of course it wouldn’t, because that was not how her attraction worked. But aside from that he shared her fear of ruining one of the, if not the best and closest friendship he currently had.
He just looked at her, watching the light through the car window illuminate her frame; the light catching her hair and making her fire ombre stand out even more to the point where it almost seemed to actually be ablaze, her green eyes focused on the last few bites of her burger.
She was beautiful to him, in both the literal sense and in the way she came through for him, how she had his back, how she trusted him in both getting her home safely and to open up to him about her deepest feelings. She was such a private person, normally. Had he really not realised that before, that being privy to see beneath her surface like this was a luxury she didn't bestow upon many?
… Why had they broken up? Just because their schedules didn't align? They seemed to have figured that out now, where both took the time to adjust and see each other anyway. Had the solution to their problem really been that simple? Had all of it really just been bad timing?
He sighed, leaning back in the driver's seat.
"....... Mary?"
"Hm?"
"If you- if you meant what you said, at the park, if that's truly how you feel-"
Oh, god. She braced herself for impact, still worried that in telling him she still loved him she had jeopardized their whole friendship. Worry seemed to overtake her mind as her reason desperately tried to argue that Klavier wouldn't hurt her feelings on purpose, or be mad at her.
"I'd love it if we- I mean… Do you think we... could give it another try?"
... Wait a minute, what?
She looked at him, but he was very deliberately looking away from her as he didn't want her to see how even his tanned complexion was no match for the sudden fierce heat in his cheeks. That absolutely did not came out as smoothly or suave as he had intended.
Mary just blinked, her mind blanking as that single sentence had completely shut down her anxious thought process. He... wanted her back? He wanted to give it another try?
Their eyes met for a moment but both quickly looked away as the embarrassment and tension started to rise. Mary could feel her heart pound against her ribs, the static in her head almost becoming too loud to bear.
He literally offered to give it another try, so, did that mean...
Something incredibly impulsive seemed to take over the reign of her functions as she turned towards him, grabbing hold of his shirt and pulled him closer. She closed the gap between them, kissing him with crystal clear intent and feelings behind it. Her heated mind snapped out of it for a second, and she quickly broke the kiss and let go of him.
"I'm sorry, I-"
He placed his hand in the curve of her neck, gently pulling her back to plant their lips back together, his intent just as clear in reply to hers. It felt so familiar, safe, and so different all at once. The latter probably because their previous kisses had never been fueled by the build of tension and the deep yearning they had both been going through.
It was him who broke the kiss that time, and only because they both desperately needed air; their foreheads still resting together.
“Ich liebe dich, auch.”
A breathless laugh escaped her as a realization suddenly popped in her mind.
"..... You know, we never could've done this in that park, anyway," she said, "Someone would've taken some photo or video, and then the tabloids would've had a field day with you."
Klavier just huffed in amusement, lightly kissing her forehead.
"I don't care. I just don't want them coming after you, if it can be helped."
At that point they decided it was probably best to actually go home, before someone came out to shoo them off the property for loitering. After tossing their garbage and buckling back up in the car, Klavier drove off. It almost seemed like the radio was aware of what had happened, as it insisted on playing romantic songs until they got close to Klavier's apartment. It would just take a few more turns before he was home, and they had to switch places so Mary could make the final drive to her home.
"... Hey, uhm," she started, feeling more nervous about the request than she normally would, "do you.. want to come over to my place? I... I don't know, we could just relax, watch a movie, or something, I just- I really don't want to be alone, so, can you.. keep me company?"
Maybe to others that would sound like an invitation to more, but he knew that taking the bold initiative on their kiss was more than enough excitement for her this evening. He respected that completely, there’d be plenty of time for them to discuss both their comfort levels and boundaries, and he knew she would respect his in return. Plus, it sounded like a lovely evening in and would be way better than being alone in his apartment for the umpteenth time in his life. He thought for a moment to remember what she actually preferred to be called as a term of endearment, and a small smug smirk showed up on his face when it popped back in his mind.
"Of course, älskling."
He could see from his peripheral that being called that again turned her face a lovely shade of red. He just turned the car down the road away from his home, going to her place instead. From there it didn't take both of them long to get inside, cuddle up on the couch together, and watch movies.
Grayson the robin had settled on Klavier's shoulder, nuzzled into his neck and had promptly fallen asleep- and it seemed like his owner wasn't far behind. Mary's head was resting on his chest on the opposite side of where her bird sat, and her eyes fell more and more shut as he softly ran his fingers through the tresses of her hair.
"Get some rest," he whispered softly and in a melodious hum to try and relax her even more, “I’ll still be with you in the morning, I promise.”
Although she protested softly, the warmth that radiated off him and the calm, steady beat of his heart proved far too powerful in this fight against her sleepiness; eventually her eyes fell shut and her breathing slowed down a little as she drifted off to sleep.
He just kept softly playing with her hair, the feeling as calming for him as the warmth of the featherball in his neck. He looked back at the tv.
It was nice, to have this again.

Could you do 43 but Klavquill 🥺👉👈
(43: Here's your medication.)
"Here." Klavier squinted incomprehensible at the bottle of advil that had magically appeared before his very eyes in a feat that only Fraulein Wright could do. However, as Klavier slowly raised his head up to look, he instead found his boyfriend, the Twisted Samurai himself standing there.
"Was?" Klavier managed to grind the word out, eyes squinting in equal parts pain and surprise.
"I said here, fop. Here's your medication." Blackquill replied sullenly. "You are in pain, are you not? Only someone with proper mental fortitude could push through the pain without aid. And you, clearly, are no such person."
Klavier frowned thoughtfully and eyed up the pill bottle. "So I'm undisciplined." He clarified.
"Exceedingly so." Blackquill replied dryly, only to hesitate strangely. "...you are undisciplined when it comes to pain because you refuse to acknowledge when the pain is too much. Even the most noble warrior cannot stand alone."
Blinking, Klavier goggled at Simon in surprise. "That might be the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Herr Samurai." He pointed out with a slow smile. He reached out and plucked the pill bottle from Blackquill's hand, knocking back two pills with a swig of his coffee. "Ach, danke. That should help."
Blackquill hesitated again.
"You know, fop. People... care about you. They don't like to see you work yourself do death." Blackquill muttered, looking... dare Klavier say... shy?
"What people?" Klavier teased, only to fight back a grin when Blackquill's usually pale, sullen face suddenly went an almost adorable shade of pink.
Huffing, Blackquill crossed his arms and fixed his gaze on some point on the wall above Klavier's left shoulder. "People! I'm sure you have throngs of adoring friends who do not wish to see you suffer." He snapped.
"Actually I think most of my friends would support me suffering a little." Klavier pointed out, mind drifting to the occasional torment the people closest to him could dish out. "In fact, I think you're the only person who I'm close to that hasn't implied they want to kick me in the shins."
Blackquill's blush seemed to deepen.
"Ridiculous. I'm not childish enough to resort to kicking. You are my partner, I tolerate you exceedingly well, and if you were truly insufferable I would simply draw my blade against your foppishness." Simon grumbled. "Now then, I will be going. Leave work at a decent time today or I will skin you." And with that, the Twisted Samurai turned on his heel and stalked out of the room.
Still holding the pill bottle in one hand, Klavier smiled sweetly to himself. "Love you too." He said softly to the empty office.

(one morning at the prosecutor’s office)
Klavier Gavin: So, Herr Samurai...may I ask you a question?
Simon Blackquill: Go ahead, Gavin-dono.
Klavier Gavin: While in prison, were you friends with a man named Diego Armando aka Godot? You know...red visors, white hair, sexy sax music playing as he talked about philosophy?
Simon Blackquill: Oh, yeah, I hung out with Armando-dono for some time (drinks coffee, spits it out immediately) GAH! Who was the blackguard who made this terrible coffee! How dare you ruin the best part of breakfast!
Klavier Gavin: ...yup, you two were definitely friends.

I have one that’s been nagging at me for awhile, and I’m interested in seeing what you can do with it. Prosecutors with an equestrian S/O meeting the horse (bonus if they ride said horse).
Oh, this is a real interesting one, pal!  Got a little carried away with this one because I liked this prompt so much, haha.  And to have the riding for those who do get to, just pretend that all the boxes are ticked and that the horse is suitable for beginners, the barn would be cool with it, you have the proper insurance, and so on and so forth.  Gotta ride responsibly!Characters: Miles Edgeworth, Lana Skye, Franziska von Karma, Godot, Klavier Gavin, Sebastian Debeste, Simon Blackquill, and Nahyuta Sahdmadhi.feat. Equestrian!Reader
Miles Edgeworth.
Miles isn’t a stranger to being around horses, given that Franziska’s been an equestrian herself since she was exceptionally young.  He may be a dog person at heart, but he can definitely see the appeal.
He never got into it, he preferred focusing on chess, golfing, and playing the flute when he wasn’t focusing on his legal studies.
Depending on what kind of rider you are (be it casual or competitive), he enjoys watching you ride and will be sure to attend any shows or competitions you participate in if that’s your thing (and his work allows it).
He enjoys interacting with your horse under your supervision, mainly in helping you groom them and shower them with affection.
If your horse can be a bit mouthy at times, they’re going to go for his cravat.  He’s not amused, please help him.
He enjoys brushing them the most and talking with you about your day as the two of you work.  It’s relaxing for him and the usual lines around his eyes seem to lessen.
He used to help Franziska with this, too, and he’ll share with you some childhood memories about it if you’re interested.
He’s a bit nervous about actually trying his hand at riding properly, but if you ask him… he’ll give it a try.  It’s an important hobby to you and he’d like to share that with both you and his sister.
His riding posture is mostly correct, but he’s stiff as a board the first time he tries riding for himself as he lacks confidence.
However, he’ll enroll in some lessons after he gets a taste of it (because he wants to spend more time with you) and shapes into a fairly talented rider.
Lana Skye.  (Pre SL-9)
Lana doesn’t have any experience with horses, so she did a great deal of research into the subject.  It’s important to you and she wants to get to know more about horses so she knows how to behave around yours.
After a hard day’s work, she enjoys getting to go down to the stables and watch you ride or train your horse.  There’s something quite calming about seeing you so in your element.
She’s incredibly gentle, but confident whenever she interacts with your horse.  It’s no surprise that they take an almost instant liking to each other, even if that may be uncommon for your horse.
Whenever she’s around them, she has a bright smile on her face.
She often brings Ema with her, too, and it’s some quality bonding time for the three of you.
Lana always makes sure your horse’s number one fan is safe while petting them, so no worries there.
After Ema seems to learn how to handle your horse and there’s a relationship there, she’ll ask if you could give Ema a ride by leading her around the corral.
She takes a lot of photos and is utterly melting as she watches you and your horse work so well with her precious sister.
When you ask if she’d like to take a ride around, she’s surprised but agrees after some reassurances from you.  Ema does just fine for walks around, after all, so she should be, too.
She’s a natural at it (unable to wipe the grin off of her face the whole time!) and with some persuading, you can convince her to start taking some lessons.
Franziska von Karma.
When Franziska learns that you are a fellow equestrian, she is delighted!  It becomes a strong bonding point for the two of you.
She is an expert rider and does it competitively and has since she was a child.  The number of trophies and ribbons she has is impressive.
While you may peg her as being a rather discipline forward rider, she’s actually very gentle and while she’s no pushover, it’s definitely not what you’d expect from her.
However, she thoroughly enjoys just going on casual rides with you or helping each other groom each other’s horses.
It’s… nice to have somebody to share this hobby with and you see her at her most relaxed and happy whenever the two of you are spending some quality time with each other and your horses.
She may compete with you if you’re into the competitive scene, though.  You become her rival and she’s not about to lose to you!
The two of you are going to introduce each other to your horses early on and, after things get quite serious between you, she arranges it so you can transfer your horse to the barn she keeps hers at—if you’d like.
Her horse is well-trained but it only seems to like her at first and is ill-mannered toward anyone else, so it takes a while for you to win her trust.  There’s still not quite a connection there like the one her rider appears to share with her, but you are tolerated.
When she finally takes the saddle, she’s liable to ride your horse better than you do and look damn good while she does it, too.
Godot.
So… horses, huh?  Godot’s never been around one in person before, but they certainly do exist.  And you seem to be fond of them.
He does start to tailor his “lessons” and cryptic remarks to be horse-themed just for you.  He can’t help but grin whenever he picks up on you rolling your eyes at him.
He’ll sometimes bring you some coffee whenever you’re down working, even if he feels terribly out of place in the stables.  But he’s curious and you’re able to lure him in by talking about your horse.
He’s liable to spook your horse at first, given his strange appearance and all.  However, with time, he’s able to win their trust and doesn’t mind helping you groom them.
He’s… very gentle and careful with them, almost surprisingly so.  And you see a rare gentle smile come to his face whenever he’s petting them.
But eventually, he is going to try and let your horse try some coffee if you’re okay with it.  And he’ll do so every once in a while in moderation, trying to find a blend that they seem to favor.
When you suggest that he rides them, he gently turns you down.  He prefers to just assist you and pet them, riding isn’t quite his cup of coffee.  It’s yours and he’d much rather watch you enjoy it.
Klavier Gavin.
Klavier’s had the opportunity to do a lot of things that the average person has not, thanks to his time abroad and his musical career.
However, horse riding has not been one of them and he’s very curious to learn all about it from you!
He absolutely loves listening to you talk about your horse and about any stories you have, he’s always asking you questions.
He’ll hang around the stable with you when he needs time away from work, it becomes a safe space for him… and he does enjoy watching you ride.  He’s got the biggest heart eyes for you.
It’s not an instant connection, but he’s able to form a surprisingly strong bond with your horse as you teach him how to handle them and show him how to bond properly with them.  And yes, he does use Herr/Frälein to refer to them too.
It’s his singing, of all things, that seems to win your horse over to him.  It initially started out as him singing quietly while the two of you worked, but it develops into him straight up serenading your horse.
If you play music from the Gavinners for them when he’s not there, they’ll recognize his voice and linger around the speaker.
…Your horse eventually seems to like him more than you, which you can’t even be all that mad about, really.
After the relationship is there, he decides to take some lessons since while he’d like to ride your horse, he wants to know that he can ride them well before taking their saddle for the first time.
Whenever he rides, he feels surprisingly light and free and it’s not a hobby he knew that he’d fall as much in love with as he does.
You’re very good about showing him new sides of himself like that, though.
Sebastian Debeste.
This boy knows nothing about horses, but he’s absolutely trying his hardest to learn more about them once he finds out you’re an equestrian.
He’ll ask you if maybe you have any book recommendations for him?  He wants to study them on top of working on becoming a better prosecutor and… it’s really sweet.
Sebastian’s honestly a bit intimidated by the size and strength of the horses, so he prefers just watching you do your thing from a distance at first.
He’s honestly amazed at how easy you make it look and he slowly starts to wonder if maybe… he could try it, too?
When you ask him if he’d like to meet your horse after he starts seeming more relaxed, his eyes light up and he gives you a very enthusiastic nod.
He cries when your horse immediately seems to warm up to him, nuzzling their snout against his hand.
Petting them and spending time with them is very therapeutic for him and they develop a very special bond under your careful eye.
Definitely start him out with some lessons before letting him ride your horse, he is a complete novice and is going to fall off so he really needs a proper trainer.  However, he always gets back on and continues with his lessons—resolved to become the best rider he can be for you.
It takes time, but when he’s good enough to be able to ride your horse for the first time he’s positively beaming.
He feels on top of the world and it’s a huge confidence booster for him.
Simon Blackquill.
As someone who participates in falconry, Simon is able to appreciate your hobby and the unique bond you share with your horse.
He’s most interested in the Kisouma breed and the mounted samurai in general, but he knows enough about horses to not be woefully ignorant.
Whenever you invite him to come over to the stables or some horseriding event, he’s carefully observing your technique and making mental notes.
It’s fascinating to him to observe the differences in training a bird of prey compared to a horse.  It gives him a great deal of respect for what you do and for the animal, soo.
Much like how he encourages you to form a connection with Taka, he’s all about getting to do the same with your horse.
He’s absolutely going to try and bribe them with treats and tries to figure out where they like to be pet the most.
However, he’s always incredibly gentle and polite with your horse, speaking to them in a low voice.  His typical sarcastic and teasing side that you’re so used to seeing is nowhere to be found.
If you knew him before the UR-1 Incident, you really see the man he used to be come out in these moments.
When you ask him if he’d be interested in trying to ride, he’d agree without much hesitation.
He sits in the saddle with a great deal of confidence for a first-time rider, he trusts your horse, and he proves to be a natural at it.
It gives him an idea of how the mounted samurai felt when riding into battle… and he’d like more of it.  So, he also starts taking classes.
And if you’re interested in falconry, he’d be more than happy to teach you more about it, too.
Nahyuta Sahdmadhi.
Nahyuta used to see some wild ponies growing up in the isolated region Dhurke established their home, but… he never got to be up close to any of them.
So, he’s quick to delve into research about horses.  Within a week, he’s practically a walking encyclopedia of equestrian knowledge.
He watches you intently whenever he gets a chance to see you riding and will often ask you if he can come to watch after he’s had a stressful day working.  This is, clearly, important to you and he must admit that he’s quite taken by horses.
There’s a grace to them that he greatly appreciates and, he must admit, that he has a rather strong fondness for ponies as they remind him of his childhood.
Needless to say, when you ask him if he’d like to meet your horse, he’s quick to agree.
Like his mother, Nahyuta is very gifted at winning the trust and affection of animals and he manages to win your horse over within their first meeting.
There are times where you’ll leave him alone with your horse for a few moments, only to return to find him talking in a soothing voice to your horse about how lucky they are to have you as an owner (intentionally trying to fluster you).  He only smiles placidly at you and carries on with what he was doing before.
And if you’ll allow him, he’ll braid your horse’s mane and tail into some rather intricate styles and teach you how to do the same.
When it comes to actually riding your horse, he waits patiently for you to make the offer—knowing that there are a great many factors to consider before letting someone ride your horse.
He rides with the grace of a seasoned rider and he is definitely open to starting some lessons after riding your horse a couple of times.

(on the subject of prosecutor dynamics) thoughts on sebastien interactions with the main-story prosecutors? he's the same age as klavier, and they attended the same school technically. does simon pick on him or is he too much of an easy target to be considered any fun? curious :3c
I haven’t played/watched all of AAI2, so forgive me that my answer isn’t as in-depth!
If you thought Klav was scared of Simon... Well, Sebastian finds Simon utterly terrifying. Klavier and Sebastian both attended Themis and were acquainted with one another, so Klavier is like, “No worries, Herr Debeste, he is not nearly as scary as he looks.”
Sebastian doesn’t quite believe him, and Simon figures out that Sebastian is afraid of the “Twisted Samurai” — and rather than be offended, Simon gets a hell of a kick out of it. With his dark sense of humor, he intentionally plays up his intimidating demeanor around Sebastian. Sebastian is put further and further on edge until one day Simon just walks up behind him and says “Boo” completely monotone. Sebastian screams.
Miles shows up in Simon’s office later like “Why do you feel the need to terrify my protege?” And Simon just shrugs and grins.

He meant to turn back to the courthouse, but found himself transfixed by the figure.  He wasn’t sure how long he stood there, staring at them, but it wasn’t until a deep ahem came from behind him that Klavier jumped, a small yelp breaking through his facade.
“Herr Samurai!” He gasped when he landed back on earth, leaning his hands on his knees and placing a hand over his heart.  It kept pounding in his chest despite his attempts to calm himself. “Fuck, don’t scare me like that!  You’re as bad as that bird!”
Simon stood over Klavier, a slight grin pulling his lips up to the side.  He hadn’t meant to startle Gavin, but…
Well.  When the opportunity presents itself…
But sir, that’s MY emotional support fic!

Every good Friendship starts with an Asshole and a Fight
Friday, 16 March 2029
“Can I truly confide you with this task?”, Edgeworth asked Klavier and Simon for the fifth time while they were walking down the corridor into the entrance hall of the prosecutor’s office.
Simon rolled his eyes but remained silent luckily enough. Klavier shot him a warning look to remind him that he better kept his mouth shut and let him deal with this. A stressed Herr Edgeworth was nothing he could not handle.
Shooting him his best smile Klavier reassured him: “Of course, you can trust us, Herr Edgeworth. We know of what importance the royal visit is for the prosecution’s office as well as for our country. We will act prudently and vigilantly to prevent any unplanned incidents. You can count on us, Herr Edgeworth!”
Edgeworth sighed and massaged his temple. He knew for a fact that Gavin and Blackquill were the most suitable men for this reception. They were his most trusted employees and also the most hardworking men in the office.
Other than that – He opened the door for the entrance hall – they also were the only ones that actually knew Your Graciousness, Nahyuta Sahdmadhi. At least indirectly.
Gavin knew him through the relationship he had with Apollo Justice and Blackquill had met him in court. The latter event had not gone down peacefully, and Edgeworth had to scold the man for the stupid stunt he pulled, as he acted as the defence’s co-council.
And still he was a better fit for this reception than any rookie that was working in the office right now. The stupidity of the situation did not fail to annoy him greatly but there was nothing to be done than work with what he had got now.
“I hope you will hold your promise, Gavin. But even if I wanted I could not do it myself, since my schedule is too tight. I’m not even pleased to take you out of your offices, since there is so much to do, but there is simply no other way. I’ll leave it to you them. Be considerate and try to look at it as a short break form the madness in the office. Or do not. At this point I don’t even care anymore”, Edgeworth mumbled and walked away.
“The chief surly is stressed as fuck”, Simon commented dryly as he looked after the man in maroon.
Klavier punched him in the arm and hissed: “Don’t talk like that about him. He could hear us.”
“As if it would surprise him that people would say such stuff about him. And I wasn’t even mean. I just stated the obvious.”
“Yeah, if you think that makes it better. Anyway, you remember that we have to greet him by his proper title and do the bow thing?”
“Yes, I know!”, Simon moaned and crossed his arms in front of his chest. “I’ll do it, but I have to say it again; it is completely stupid and irrational. You’ve spoken with him when you video chatted with your ridiculous boyfriend, and then you called each other by your names! And I think the title is hilarious and completely unfitting for the brat.”
“Cool. You’ve ranted long enough?”, Klavier said unimpressed and put his hand on his hips. “As long as you are still angry at the man for being mean towards Athena -”
“And almost putting my friend innocently behind bars because of his petty arrogance!”
“- yeah sure that too, you will refrain from talking with him. Don’t forget that he asked Athena for forgiveness and also wrote a letter to Bucky. Give him at least some credit for trying, okay Herr Samurai?”
Simon did not respond but what was new about that? Klavier was used to have a conversation on his own when the samurai was around. The man just was not much of a talker.
Frustratedly he turned towards the door and awaited the arrival of the khura’inese visitor. Not a minute later he heard the distinguish jingling of the monk’s golden jewellery, whereupon the royal man shortly followed.
A tall, buff man in a black suit was accompanying Nahyuta, surely his bodyguard. Klavier shot Simon a short look, but the tall man had put on an emotionless face, completely unreadable for a stranger.
They waited for Nahyuta to come closer, before they bowed and Klavier greeted the man with: “It is an honour to welcome you officially in LA, Your Graciousness.”
Klavier could almost feel how the monk uncomfortably shifted on his feet. Yes, this man definitely disliked it to be treated as a nobleman. He did not blame him for it, being famous had its benefits but it was exhausting.
“We hope Your Graciousness will enjoy their visit”, Simon suddenly added and straightened up again.
Klavier followed suit and saw the monk visibly relax, as they finally were able to talk on the same eye level. Now he had a better look at the monk and quickly observed the man’s demeanour. A serene smile laid on the brown lips and his hands were intertwined behind his back. Uptight and distant but in the most tranquil and gracious way possible.
“Please, let us not bother with this formality. It is not necessary for you to call me by my royal title. I will be your colleague, not your regent in the following two weeks”, Nahyuta stated calmly and looked in Klavier’s direction.
The man nodded intently and responded: “Of course! Whatever suits you best. Just call me Klavier!”
“Very well. Please feel free to call me Nahyuta, then.”
Both men glanced over to Simon, who had crossed his arms demonstratively while they had been speaking. As Klavier dangerously raised his eyebrows and additionally stared daggers at him to what the man rolled his eyes, huffed deeply and stated: “It’s Simon.”
Nahyuta did not react to this unpassionate reaction and waited for Klavier to start with their tour through the prosecution’s office. Silently Klavier gave the monk credit for ignoring Simon’s rudeness and pointed at the door leading to the corridor.
“Well, let’s get right at it and stop wasting anymore precious time!”, the blond man exclaimed and lead them the way.
The morning went by in a snap. The prosecution’s archive, the different offices, the common areas, they managed to go through it all. While doing so, Nahyuta had his bodyguard leave them, so that it was only the three of them wandering through the building.
As Klavier had expected, he had been the one who did most of the talking, but then and when Simon added something small to the conversation. It was not much but more than the rock star had hoped for. The samurai had even managed to not sound passive-aggressive towards the prince, which was hopefully a sign of Simon’s forgiveness for Nahyuta’s past behaviour.
“Anyway, now that you’ve seen all of this we are heading towards the cafeteria for lunch. In the afternoon we will go and visit the courthouse and the police HQ”, Klavier explained as they passed some elder prosecutors in the hallway.
Nahyuta still seemed to be intrigued by all the information Klavier gave him. It was refreshing to see somebody with such a curious mind for a change, reminisced the rock star happily.
“That sounds wonderful. I’m thrilled to see and learn more about the courthouse and the HQ. On my last stay there was no time for a tour like this and I’m glad that I now get the chance to catch up”, Nahyuta responded, while thankfully lowering his head towards the blond man.
Klavier was about to laugh and reply something as one of the elder prosecutors began to speak. It was a slimy, arrogant man in a mouse grey suit. He was talking with an even slimier man in a black suit and had been watching the them closely.
Klavier knew them. They had lost several trials against his brother. Simon knew them as well. Both of them had almost lost their jobs during the reformation process of the law, which the chief prosecutor had initiated after he had been freed.
Therefore, they meant bad news.
“What a great new generation, right? The enforcement, the future of the law built on the shoulders of a convicted murderer, the former pawn of a dictator and a psychopath’s little brother. That will surly work out perfectly fine, won’t it?”, the grey one told his friend annoyed.
They had their backs turned towards the younger men and acted as if they were not there. Clearly, they knew that they were heard. Their words were meant to hurt, and they knew they would do the trick.
“It surely will”, the other one bawled and slapped his knee.
“And of course,” the grey one wickedly added, “they get along effortlessly. What else could you expect from three criminals like them? Ruthless, manipulating men with no respect for us, who worked in this field much longer. I still can’t believe that the chief prosecutor was stupid enough to fall for them. Then again, Gavin might be just as biasing as his brother? He probably deceived the oblivious fool, like all his stupid little fans.”
Klavier stood still like an ice statue. He had closed his eyes and tried to sustain an even breathing pattern. For outsiders it might have looked like the man was near to explode. To Simon it looked like his friend was about to break down and cry.
It was not the first time Simon had to listen to these dickheads’ accusations. He did not care what was told about him, as long as he could do his job properly. But saying this about Klavier, the one out of these three who had not done wrong anything in his hole life, that, he could not tolerate any longer.
He turned violently, made a step into their direction-
“I beg your pardon?”
Simon stared at the monk. What on earth was going on with his voice? I sounded so icy in a creepily friendly way that it made Simon’s hair stand up.
“What did you say, Your Graciousness?”, the man in grey replied innocently.
But Nahyuta had none of that. Determined he walked towards them, his head holding high and a defeating smile on his lips.
“My, my. I did not speak quieter than you two did just before. So, do not try to make a fool out of me. Tell me clearly, what did you just speak off?”
The elder man’s expression soured. He did not like the tone Nahyuta was using.
“It was a private conversation. It is none of your business.”
The prince kept his mouth shut and closed his eyes. Slowly he lifted his hand from behind his back and formed a prayer pose with his fingers.
With a furious flick of his tongue he opened his eyes again and shot them a piercing look with those energic, passionate eyes.
“You truly believe that you openly and violently insulting my highly appreciated and helpful guide, would be none of my business? I might have been the pawn of a tyrant, but I am no longer blind to the truth. Prosecutor Gavin is a hardworking man, who loves what he does and lives for it. Making him responsible for his brother’s foul crimes is defamation. It shows the pettiness and ugliness of your wrenched soul. Might you be reborn as a mole in the stony mountains, unable to dig yourself a home and stuck in the sun’s burning rays you cannot see nor enjoy.”
The man in grey had gone paler and paler. His lips were trembling and his palms sweating. His cowardly friend had already run off and he followed right away, unable to stand the monk’s intense presence for one more second.
This. This pleased Simon. This pleased him so much.
But before he could say that to the monk, the man had turned towards Klavier. Carefully he approached him and waited for him to notice him before he started to speak.
“I hope you are alright, Klavier. These men were inhumanly nasty, I had to speak up. But if I overstepped my boundaries I apologize and promise to not interfere again in the future”, Nahyuta stated sincerely and lowered his head humbly.
Klavier looked as if he had just died a little. The cool and usually composed mask he wore all the time had broken into pieces, and now he was jittering and looked small and vulnerable. Simon stepped to his side and discreetly drew circles on the other man’s back.
Klavier needed comfort. Uneasily Nahyuta tried to catch Simon’s attention with a guilty look. The other man got the message and shook his head. No, this was not Nahyuta’s fault, he seemed to say wordlessly.
For some longer they stood still and waited for the blond to calm down. When he appeared to be stable enough again, Simon stepped aside and gave the man room to breathe.
“I hope this is not going to end badly for you, Nahyuta. These two are manipulative, horrible men. I don’t even want to think of what they might be ready to do to you”, Klavier whispered worriedly and warily observed the prince’s behaviour.
Nahyuta did not seem to be bothered to much by the potential dread coming from those men.
“I don’t think”, Nahyuta stated with a smug smile on his delicate lips, “that they can say much against the prince of Khura’in. They are cowards and I cannot believe that they have enough guts to tell the chief prosecutor that they got into a fight with the very important international visitor.”
“He’s right. They are too scared to do anything, trust us, Klav”, Simon soothingly affirmed Nahyuta’s statement.
Klavier still looked troubled but said nothing else. Simon suppressed a sigh and decided that it was better to leave it at this.
Firmly he looked from one to the other and proposed: “Let’s continue this weird tour and go to the cafeteria. Food might be the right distraction right now.”
Both men nodded in union and followed Simon to the cafeteria.

Klavquill Rollerskating, requested by @snowkit-and-blackquill AKA my online brother-
So, the guys were both in Klavier's home because he has a fear of being alone. Perhaps it could be related to his trauma as a child, no one knows.
Klavier was wearing one of Simon's t-shirts and they are wayyyy to big for him because the ex-inmate is taller than him. The t-shirt had "My Chemical Romance" written on it due to the fact that Aura made her little brother listen to that band despite the fact that he was too young to listen to them.
"Herr Samurai?"
"What is it, Gavin-Dono?"
asked the samurai in reply to the rockstar.
"Do you remember that time when we went... uhh..."
The blond had forgotten the word. He paused for a solid 10 seconds as the samurai was waiting for a reply and then he uttered:
"Shoe driving?"
"What.?"
questioned the taller guy.
"We were 17 and 20! Don't you remember?"
"Remember what? Explain the event because you seem to have forgotten the word for it."
and then there was a silence that lasted for about 3 seconds before the shorter guy said:
"We were 17 and 20, and we had those shoes that had the circle car things that made the car move...
"Continue..."
And then Klavier explained:
...it went something like this:
"Simon?"
asked the 17 year old prosecutor.
"Yeah? What is it?"
was the reply that he got from the 20 year old law student. Both have no stress, no work, and definitely no trauma. Or at least that's what we think.
They were at the space center, in Simon's own room there. It was turned into a laboratory after UR-1. They were sitting on his bed, chatting.
"There is something I want to do to you."
said the 17 year old prosecutor.
"E-excuse m-me? Klavier, that's-"
before the older guy could finish, Klavier continued:
"Ja! Can we go roller skating?"
then the 29 y/o Simon Blackquill asked:
"When you said 'shoe driving' did you mean roller skating?"
Klavier who was explaining the story answered:
"Ja! That's the word! Now, shall I continue?"
"Do so."
The 26 y/o prosecutor continued explaining the story:
And then:
"But where are we gonna go roller skating?"
"Oh! There's this skating... Was was it called again?"
The German forgot the word.
"You seem to be talking about a skatepark, right?"
"Ja! That's the word!"
"You always forget words, don't you?"
"That doesn't matter! I got us some rollerblades!"
The blond had a bag that he brought with him. He took out 2 pairs of rollerblades from them. His has the letter "G" on it and was dark purple and black, meanwhile Simon's had the letter "B" on it and was black and white.
"Auf geht's!"
[Let's go!]
said the German.
They went there at approximately. Simon had to beg Aura for permission because he was still her baby brother and she was worried about what might happen to him, he could break a bone or something bad might happen but then Klavier reassured her that everything was gonna be alright. As they were leaving the space center, they had a small conversation
"You actually convinced Aura to let me go! I- even I couldn't pull it off."
said the young samurai.
"Frau Blackquill said that as long as I'm with you and I don't leave you, then we can stay here until 10 P.M."
explained the young rockstar.
"Yeah, but if anything bad happens to me, she will be going for your head."
Klavier gulped in fear because he knows how overprotective Aura is of Simon. When Simon first introduced Klavier to Aura, she made him fill 15 papers and sign on a paper that says that he will never cheat on or betray Simon and if he does, then Aura will bring out her shotgun.
"Your sister cares about you a lot."
"I know. She would kill for me."
They reached the park and then they started skating.
29 year old Simon Blackquill asked:
"Shall I finish the rest of the story?"
"Ja! Of course!"
Alright...
Then, we went there and a lot happened.
The 17 year old blond tripped and was falling backwards, suddenly a hand caught him. and was caught by the short curly black haired guy.
"K-Klavier!! Are you okay?!"
He had never seen the blond with a face THIS red.
"I... was ist gerade passiert..?"
[I... what just happened?]
"I- uh- Klavier I'm sorry! Are you okay?!"
the black haired guy's face also went slightly red.
"I-"
"Aura won't kill you don't worry. But Mr. Gavin will surely kill me!"
They left the park and the blonde was still red faced.
They went back to the space center and told Ms. Blackquill what happened. She laughed so hard.
"A-Aura! Why are you laughing?"
"Nothing nothing, it's just that this little boy always seemed to flirt with you but went red faced and hella embarrassed over nothing."
Author: Simon was described as a gentleman and as a weird-ish boy before UR-1, so I tried to write him like that. That's why he seemed so different from his 28-29 year old self.

“Nicky! Where are you?” Larry whined, as he barged into the Wright Anything Agency. Everyone in the office looked up at him.
“Oh! Hey uncle Larry, if you're looking for daddy, he’s out grabbing lunch with uncle Miles. Do you wanna wait here with us?” Trucy asked.
“Aww! Hey Truce! Man, Nicky and Edgey never tell me anything,” he huffed, flopping down on the couch beside his niece. He was either ignoring, or didn’t notice, the stares from the rest of the office.
“Um, hello?” Apollo asked, “Who are you?”
“What?! You don’t know who I am?” Everyone shook their heads. “I am the great artist Laurice Deuxnim, Nick and Edgey’s best friend since grade school!”
“Oh!” Athena yelled, “I think I’ve seen some of your books. Wait, how do you get Larry from Laurice Deuxnim?”
“How does one get Nick from Phoenix Wright?”  Simon asked, flipping through a case file.
“Herr samurai does have a point.”
“Oh! That’s because his real name is Larry butz,” everyone sent Trucy a curious look. “What? Not like some of your names are very normal. I mean Mr. Gavin’s name is literally piano.” Apollo and Simon both started snickering.
“Hey I have a great name!”Larry whined.
“So, Mr. Butz,” Athena said, setting down her case files.
“Call me Laurice!”
“Alright Laurice, if you’ve know Mr. Wright and Mr. Edgeworth for so long, you have to have some good stories!”
“Athena lets not.”
“Oh come on! You have to have some questions,” Athena whined. “What about you two?” She turned to Simon and Klavier.
“I do have one,” Klavier said. “What’s with the samurai keychain herr Edgeworth always keeps with him?”
“Actually, I’ve been wondering that too. Mr. Wright has a blue one, but he won’t tell me where he got it, and he gets fidgety when we ask,” Apollo said, curiosity getting the better of him.
“Oh like this one?” Larry asked, pulling out his signal samurai keychain. “It was a set I won back in elementary school! It’s the signal samurai, Nicky and I got Edgey into it back then.”
“Edgeworth-dono? Watched a children’s samurai show?”
“What, I’m sure he wasn’t always so uptight,” Trucy laughed.
“Oh no, Edgey was always like this! Always going on about being a defense attorney like his father. He always wore a little bow tie and stuff.”
“Heh, that sounds like herr Edgeworth,” Klavier laughed. By now, everyone had set down their work and was listening. “Any other stories herr Butz?”
“Ooh! Wait I can do you one better,” he pulled out his phone. “I have a picture of us doing the signal samurai pose!”
“What?!”
“No way uncle Miles would do something like that,” Trucy said. As Larry scrolled through his phone, the door opened.
“What’s going on?” Edgeworth asked, as him and Wright stepped inside with two paper bags. “Larry what are you doing here?”
“Edgey! Nicky!” Larry yelled, dropping his phone and forgetting about the picture. “We were just talking about you two.”
“What were you telling them exactly?” Wright asked wearily.
“Can you guys do the signal samurai pose?!” Trucy yelled.
“Larry…” Edgeworth almost growled. “What did you say?”
“Nothing! They were just asking about the keychains.”
“He was going to show us a picture of the pose!” Athena yelled.
“Oh, then I see no harm,” Wright said, “Although I’m a little out of practise. Come on, there’s space over here.” Wright dragged Edgeworth to a clear area.
“Wright,” he hissed, “don’t humor him!”
“Oh come on Edgey!” He joined them, “ ready?” Edgeworth just huffed and looked away, standing straight with his arms crossed. Larry cupped his hand around his eyes, “Sense the enemies I do. So be careful, will you?” Everyone started laughing, even Edgeworth cracked a grin. “Signal Yellow!” He struck the signal yellow pose.
“Kick enemies to the curb, and sally forth!” Wright extended his hand, and Trucy burst out into a fit of giggle. Edgeworth’s shoulders relaxed. “Signal blue!” He struck the signal blue pose.
“Come on uncle Miles!”
“Ja herr Edgeworth, don’t leave your friends waiting!”
“Fine, but this never leaves this room!” He glared, before taking a deep breath as his face turned red. “You’re facing me, and I shall stop thee.” He went through the motions, although a little choppy. “Signal red.” He posed. Everyone began to snicker, before bursting into full on laughter.
“Hey! You asked for it,” Wright laughed.
“Again!” Trucy yelled.

Lunchbreak Overthinking || Drabble
Fandom: Ace Attorney Wordcount: 1,226 Warnings: None
AN: a rather self indulgent small piece because my personal workday was absolute garbage. My writing skills are quite rusted from disuse, be nice.
Ah, fanfic, where you can fulfill your desire of /not/ being the first on the elevator and thus having someone hold it open for you rather than vise versa.
shout out to this youtube video for being my ambient writing music ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hold the door, please!" The voice calling interrupted Klavier’s thoughts, instinctively reaching his arm out to block the elevator door so Mary could slip in.
It wasn't particularly crowded, just him, prosecutor Blackquill and his falcon, and now Mary and her little robin. The elevator was suited for at least three more people to fit comfortably, but nobody else seemed to want to get on
"Thank you," Mary said as Klavier allowed the doors to shut.
"Kein Problem," he replied, looking at her as she balanced several file maps in her arms and hands.
"What floor do you need?" "Five. Thanks."
He just gave her a smile, quietly acknowledging her thanks in that way. Seemed like they all had a little while to go in the elevator, so Klavier didn't mind some small talk- At least Mary replied, unlike Blackquill who was very often not in the mood to chitchat.
"Anything new on the administrative personnel's grapevine?"
"Payne might get himself killed or worse if he touches the copy machine again. Not even by the copy machine, but by us. Like, if you don't know how it works, don't push every button you can find five times in a row."
Klavier chuckled a little at that, knowing fully well both the frustration of the administrative workers and Payne’s less than stellar relationship with said copy machine
“Ach, has he still not figured out that she’s a delicate machine and needs to be treated as such?” “Nope- ah, this is my stop. Can we catch up later?” “Lunch in my office? It’ll keep you away from Payne.” “Deal!”
And with that, Mary rushed off to deliver the file maps she needed to their designated place, her fiery red to blonde hair and her little bird companion trailing close behind her as she cleared the corner.
It was at that moment that Simon lowkey rolled his eyes. He was far from easy to impress on the best of days, but this whole display left him even less so.
“Having lunch with your ex, of all people? At your office? Sounds like a sure fire way to get the rumour mill started.”
Klavier merely raised an eyebrow at the other’s statement.
“Oh? Forgive me if I’m wrong, Herr Blackquill, but you don’t seem the type to engage in gossip. Unless you want to join us, as well, to supervise that two adults in their professional space will behave as such?”
Simon only gave Klavier a side glance in reply.
“Mary und I are still friends. Last time I checked there was no rule forbidding friends from visiting someone’s office.”
“Mhhm, ‘just friends.’ Is that what the kids call it nowadays?”
The elevator gave another ding as both ended on their respective stop, with Blackquill not even giving the conversation a second thought as he left for his office.
“You’re barely two years older than me,” Klavier muttered under his breath, knowing that yelling it after the Twisted Samurai would yield in absolutely zero results. Besides, it was none of the other prosecutor’s business, and Klavier knew for a fact that Blackquill wasn’t exactly the most social person in the building.
Not enough to start weird rumours about people, anyway.
- Soon the hands of the clock proudly proclaimed that lunchtime was to start, and Mary quickly made her way up the stairs to the prosecutor’s floor. Most of the people coming down from their office would go with the elevator anyway, so the stairs were much quicker.
Her little bird trailed close behind her yet again and landed comfortably on her shoulder when they reached the top of the stairs, chirping a merry little tune as she made her way to Klavier’s office.
“I can hear you coming from a mile away,” he said with a smile before she even entered the room, as the robin fluttered off and landed of Klavier’s shoulder instead with a happy cheep.
“Hi, Grayson. You’re quite the fluffy little chime, aren’t you?” he laughed, very gently petting the bird with a single finger as Mary took one of the seats and made herself comfortable.
It wasn’t long after that they were both sharing silly stories of weird visitors, clients and some minor gossip about less than preferred co-workers. They were simply laughing and having a good time in each other’s company, moving on to the subject of Klavier’s gig on saturday.
“So, do you have anything planned this weekend?” “Nah. One of the guys downstairs did ask me out on a date, this morning, but I kind of.. blew him off.”
“And then went to have lunch with me?” “I’d much rather have lunch with you than play mind games and twenty questions with someone who’s barely even said hello to me thrice.”
It was that line that seemed to stay on loop in Klavier’s mind, long after the mutual lunchbreak was over and he was in his office signing documents and sorting away.
That was a completely reasonable thing, right? To rather want to spend your time with a trusted friend then a near stranger? Especially for Mary.
As the heart shaped flag pendant on her necklace boldly stated, she did identify as demisexual. Arguably it was even more likely for her to pass on the idea of a date with someone who hadn’t shown that much interest yet aside from just general common curtesy.
His fingers drummed a small rhythmic tune on his desk as he stared at the computer screen, his thoughts definitely somewhere else. Because the thing was... wasn’t that exactly why they ended up mutually breaking up? Because with her career, his career and his side career, there had barely been anytime to just sit and talk and be in each other’s presence and yet... here they were now, making and taking time out of their schedule to catch up a little over their lunchbreaks.
Is that why prosecutor Blackquill felt the need to comment on it? But he didn’t even know their backstory. For all he knew there could be a whole slew of reasons why something romantic didn’t work out between Klavier and Mary.
Klavier propped the elbow of his free arm on his desk, resting his jaw on his knuckles as his right hand was still rhythmically tapping on the desk. His eyes slowly averted away to the left as he sunk deeper in his thoughts, the task on the computer momentarily being placed on the back burner
... Had the fix to their tight schedule problem really been that easy? Surely not. Not being together romantically took the pressure off things, and it seemed to be far more reasonable to find small ways during the workday to spend at least some time with a friend. Not that it was the business of anyone else, but it wasn’t like they had lunch in Klavier’s office daily. This had been the first time in at least several weeks. that should perfectly fine, right?
Right.
He shook the thought away, turning back to his tasks. He still had a few hours left to get it all done, but better make sure it got done. He wasn’t exactly in the mood for overtime, today.
There is no way it would’ve been that easy. They would’ve thought of it way before breaking up if it was.
 …. Right?

Klavquill 1-4
ユガキョの続き書きました、どんどん季節から遅れて行きますが話の中で夏くらいまではぼんやり展開が決まってるので追いつきたいです…
I’ve written the next part of Klavquill. In Japan, cherry blossoms are in full bloom but it’s December in this plot...I’m thinking about the sequel until summer vaguely, I want to catch up.
Chushin-gura is a famous period play in Japan which is often televised at the end of the year. It is a story about the loyalty of samurai, I believe Simon loves it.
*******
Simon entered the allay with Klavier and looked at him. Klavier still had tearful eyes.
“Are you all right you came out?”
“Yeah...sorry”
“It’s not your fault. Don’t laugh foolishly at such a remark”
“Well, some people like me and others don't. I’m used to being told “I hate you””
“...I have done something unnecessary”
“No, you haven’t. I was glad. It’s the first time just a friend, who isn’t concerned about music has ever protected me, if I can call you a friend. Thank you”
Klavier smiled and his wet lashes glowed in streetlight, Simon felt pain in his chest for some reason.
“What are you going to do now?”
“I’ll go home”
“I’ll walk you home, if we can go there by walk”
“...Thank you”
Simon didn’t want to leave him alone but he didn’t know why, he decided to walk Klavier home despite he wasn’t a child.
It took about 30 minutes to walk to Klavier’s apartment, they started walking slowly. They had had almost nothing, Klavier asked Simon if they would order something to eat at Klavier’s place but Simon declined it because he had a plan early tomorrow morning.
“Are you going to work?”
“No, ...I’ll go to the grave of my mentor”
“I see, with Fräulein Cykes?”
“No, I’ll go alone. We haven’t talked about my mentor yet, but we must do it someday”
Simon had little to tell someone about it but he felt he could talk to Klavier, then he confessed it. Klavier seemed surprised a little and looked up at him.
“Well, I’m not sure you two should talk about it, but it’s precious that you can share your grief with someone”
Simon noticed that Klavier was careful not to cross the boundary and felt guilty that he might have confused him but his gentle voice sounded pleasant for Simon.
“...I see”
“You are lucky to have someone to die”
It was the first time for Simon to be told so, he didn’t know if it was unusual.
“Don’t you have anyone?”
“No, I...I can’t, I’ve never thought like that”
He regretted asking Klavier such a thing after saying though Klavier looked unconcerned.
“I wonder what they would do to our plan on New Year’s Eve. You should go”
On New Year’s Eve(three days later),Apollo would come back and the same members as today planned to have a hot-pot party, going through the years and visiting a shrine for the first time in new year. Klavier seemed wondering how the plan would be going.
“I don’t know. If they don’t go, they will notice you. You don’t have to hesitate”
“Well... I’m looking forward to seeing Herr Forehead”
“It’s a bit of pity that I’ll miss “Chushin-gura” on TV”
“Won’t you record?”
Klavier asked strangely, Simon answered that he didn’t have a recorder.
“Oh, I’ll record it. If you don’t have particular plans on New Year, would you come and stay?”
Simon was upset by an unexpected invitation inwardly, he accepted it with equanimity.
“This is my apartment, see you again on New Year’s Eve”
The building was too big to see where the entrance was, Simon looked over Klavier’s back in the site of the building.
Simon was walking in the cold air of late December and got a message from Athena.
“Are you okay?”
He called her right away and she answered.
“I’ve walked him home of his. Maybe he’s alright”
“That sounds good, how about you, Simon? Have you eaten dinner?”
“I’ll have something properly, don’t worry. Sorry for confusing you”
“Well...Ema said sorry for you”
“It’s no use apologizing to me”
“She seems to have texted Prosecutor Gavin, they might talk something”
Simon felt a little surprised.
“Are you close to Prosecutor Gavin?”
“I don’t know we are close, but he did me a good turn without any return. No matter what someone says he is a good fellow for me. I can’t overlook in silence when someone insults him”
“I see...he is so kind that you can get along with him!”
He is kind, of course he is kind to everyone.
Even though, Simon would never forget his secret rehearsal, the voice like an angel, embarrassed smile and the warmth of his hand. If they were not special for Klavier, they were special for Simon.
“Ema is going to leave for Khura'in tomorrow as Prosecutor Sahdmadhi called her up. Though we can’t see her in person, is it okay as planned on New Year’s Eve?”
“That doesn’t matter. Gavin seemed to be going too”
“Then I’ll tell him it”
“...Athena”
“What?”
“What will you do tomorrow?”
Simon felt her nervous throughout the phone.
“Well...I’ll go to the grave of my mother”
“Me too. Will you go with me?”
“...Yes, of course I will!”
“Then, I’ll meet you at seven”
“Seven!?”
“Is it too late?”
“No!”
Simon felt a little brighter with her cheerful voice.
